sits down. do you have any particular general interpretations of the ieytd characters.
be specific bud i have MANY many ideas ... but here's a few hc for my version of phoenix : -30 something - agender - use any pronouns but mostly they/them - french -has anxiety, absolutely terrible with their hands but hey, they cant be killed .. - is mute, i will draw phoenix speaking but that internal monologue, not actual conversation, but people still can understand their intimidating silence - bi demiromantic - a huge flirt with every single people they meet on their mission (robot included, we kiss computer in this house) - except the handler, he's their dad figure heavy spoilers under the cut for IEYTD2 and 3
had an ennemie to lover-ish dynamic with juniper, Miike Snow - Genghis Khan kind of deal .. you know .. didnt get time to fully get to the lover part... Because John died and Phoenix blame themself, had trouble getting along with prism bc of it, until the end of cold shoulder when Phoenix realized Prism was going to fight zor and they didnt want her to die like john did, grateful that she made it out alive. and hey they repaired one of her robots so now they're fambly john may or may not be alive, phoenix has two hands , thank you

Part/Episode â 01 â
âLong range Comms just went out,â Vok reported through gritted teeth, his hand pressed against his side to slow the bleeding. âNinety two percent of weapons are down, the sub-light engines are battered and questionable at best, and we have power fluctuations all over the place.â
âHow are the FTL drives doing,â Captain Conto asked while desperately trying to reroute every ounce of power he could find to the engines and life support.
âAlive, but barely. We can expect them to go at any time now,â Vok answered while shaking his head and scanning his console. âAn hour, if weâre extremely lucky.â
Captain Conto sighed and slumped back in his seat. âThere has to be something habitable we can make it to. A moon, or a desert planet, something.â
The Executive Officer looked at his Captain completely baffled, the thought of going anywhere but a friendly planet or military base hadnât even crossed his mind. A warship carrying state or the art weaponry and tech, and being chased by relentless aliens, couldnât just stop off somewhere to make repairs. The needed a safe haven.
âSir,â he finally said, though hesitantly. âThere are no bases in range, norâŠâ
âThereâs something,â the Captain said in a tone that made it clear he wasnât asking for an opinion. âSo find it. Something with breathable air and some land. Weâll make due with that.â
He didnât like it, not at all, but he did as ordered and pulled up the maps and scans of this sector. âThere a moon thirty seven light years out, it wouldnât be comfortable but we could survive there. But I feel itâs important to point out that the Routh will kill us far sooner than the environment possibly could.â
âBut not as assuredly as staying here will kill us,â the Captain answered, his nerves clearly reach their limit. âSet the course, Vok.â
âSirâŠâ he hesitated, trying to find the words. âIt is assured, itâll just take longer and leave something for the Routh to find. Like tech, our weapons, maybe even some computers they canâŠâ
âYou have your orders,â the Captain barked, then burst into a coughing fit that left him breathing heavy. âItâs a shit choice no matter what we do, but Iâve made my decision Vok. Make it happen.â
He looked at his Captain, a man he had long respected despite being such a hard ass, and decided he had no choice but to trust him. âUnderstood, sir,â he answered with a salute.
It took several minutes to get all the systems to to cooperate without failing but Major Vok managed to set a course to bring them into the system and take up orbit. The question was would the countless systems needed hold up long enough to get them there?
âOk,â the Major said as he pressed the final command key. âCourse is programmed into the auto pilot, but Iâm guessing in the best case scenario we wonât be able to establish a stable orbit for more than an hour or so.â
âAnd not much will survive a crash landing,â the Captain said thoughtfully.
âActually,â the Major said as he turned back to the console and started a search. âThe planet does have large bodies of water. Weâd have to get everyone off the ship, but most our equipment will survive. This beast was built for it.â
Conto smiled and sat back with a sigh. âDo we have enough pods and surviving birds to get everyone off the ship and safely landed on this moon?â
Major Vok stared back silently for a moment, then looked away in clear discomfort. âWell⊠no. Not quite. A good number of the escape pods have been destroyed or disabled, and we lost the primary hanger bay as well. Weâre down to thirty two Phoenixes and four heavy transports.â
He looked at his Captain with horror on his face, and saw the look of near rage on the others face. âFrom the last report of survivors aboard⊠there will be twenty seven people left over.â
âTwenty sevenâŠâ he dropped his face into his hand and grumbled. âWe canât justâŠ. Leave them behind⊠there has to be so,etching we can do.â
âThe only thing I can think ofâŠâ the Major shook his head. âEven if we could find a way to survive the impact the ship would still sink. Theyâd be in an airtight room, but theyâd run out of air before our transports could off load then come get them.â
âMaybe we could rig something up, using all the scrap parts around and a cargo crate,â Captain Conto said with a hint of wishing in his tone. âWe donât need anything fancy, just something to get them to the ground without dying.â
Vok looked away, letting himself hope and wonder for only a moment before the smoke in his eyes drove him back to reality. âNo, sir. Iâm sorry but thatâs just not doable, not in the time we have.â
âThen letâs hear some ideas,â he said with a roar while jumping to his feet, then groaned as he held at his side.
âSirâŠâ the Major shook his head with a grim look, hating himself for it but knowing there was nothing to be done about it. âWe have no options, weâre torn apart and missing half of⊠everything. If not more. Iâm afraidâŠâ
âThat we have to just sacrifice them and be on our way,â Conto all but shouted as he took a step closer, rage on his face as he pointed accordingly at the Executive Officer. âYou know if someone is going down with the shipâŠâ
âItâll be the two of us first on the list,â Vok came back a growing aggression. âIâm well aware of it and ready to do so. Itâs the bullshit reality of where we are⊠sir. And frankly, at this point the formality of Command are out the window. You need to wake the fuck up and accept it, we are going down with the ship and we have ask for twenty five other volunteers. If we donât get them, we go by lottery. Letâs the computer decided.â
The Major didnât wait for an answer and spun around to work his console. âIâll have the list in a minute then make the announcement and ask for those volunteers. You need to organize the evac and landing plans, then pick someone to take over when weâre both dead.â
The Captain glared at his second in command with simmering anger, disgusted he would be so flagrantly disrespectful and insubordinate; but it quickly faded into disgust with himself and mounting pain at the reality.
âYeah⊠yeah, do that. And make sure everyone knows this is volunteer, I donât want anyone feeling any pressure at all. IâllâŠâ he turned and started moving through the debrisâs and bodies to head for his office. âIâll start drawing up landing and survival plans, and organize the leadership.
âWhen youâre done, start securing anything thatâs not destroyed, theyâll need everything we can save to survive.â
The Hyperspace window flickered and spun rapidly, unstable as the mammoth vessel passed through with a ripple in space time then collapsed with an unusual burst off eagerly that washed over the crippled vessel. Within second a violent explosion ripped the back section of the ship apart but didnât take the rest of the ship with it.
Captain Conto struggled to pull himself up, a fresh stream of blood running down his face and a growing stain in his uniform. It took a lot of effort to drive himself up to his knees where he looked around in a haze, his eyes blurred and the room filled with smoke and sparking consoles.
âThatâŠâ he bent over as he coughed up blood. âThat should⊠killed usâŠ. StatâŠ. Status?â
The Major didnât answer, all he heard was popping electronics and power lines, the one or two surviving alarm speakers, and crackling comms. He tried to look around and find his second, but he couldnât see anything, and he was in no shape to go searching.
âWell,â he said to no one, not sure what to do or even really think. âEveryone else knows the planâŠâ he grimaced in pain while struggling to force himself to his feet, but stood with wobble or tilt while his head spun.
âAIâŠâ he called hopefully, but not really believing it was more than a fools hope. Surprisingly, it answered.
âCaptain Conto,â the AI spoke with a good imitation of regret and hesitation. âI am unsure what help I can offer, but if there is something Iâm eager to provide it.â
âWill⊠will the ship, the crash landing, and the evac⊠will it stillâŠ.â
âIt will work,â The AI answered the question unhappily. âThe crew is aware and fully informed, weâre still on plan, though it will be more difficult now.â
âThe MajorâŠ.â
âHeâsâŠâ the AI lit up a screen next to the Captain to display his avatar and his pained expression. âAlive, but not for long. Iâm afraid we canât help him.â
âThen whatâŠâ Conto dropped into his chair and slumped, nearly limp in the seat and breathing hard. âWhatâs next? What⊠what do we need⊠to do,?â
âCaptain⊠thereâs nothing to do⊠given you blood loss and head injuryâŠâ the AI paused, itâs voice imitating pain and grim hesitation. âEverything is as ready as it can be. You donât need to do anything, Captain.â
He laughed but quickly Mae himself stop given the pain it caused. It was true, he knew there wasnât anything more he could do given his condition. Conto was sure the AI was being nice for one reason, it wouldnât be long before he joined the Major.
âI guess⊠I should⊠make some kind of announcement.â He smiled softly as his eyelids began to droop, growing steadily heavier. âGive them a pep talk while⊠saying my goodbyes.â
âIâm afraid thereâs isnât enough time, Captain. Weâll be in range to launch our first evac flights in just under an hour, and the crew has a lot to do before then. I suggestâŠâ
âThat a dying manâs ramblings would just be a distraction?â He said with amusement, his eyes nearly closed. âYeah, I guess youâre right. So, tell me, can you still send out one final status update back to Command?â
âIâm afraid with our nearly nonexistent transmitters the best I can do is an IFF ping and signal SOS.â
âIâll⊠Iâll take it.â Contyo whispered, his eyes now closed as his head sagged.
âWould you like to record a message? The Block Box will save it.â
It took some time for him to muster enough strength to force out an answer. âNo⊠whatâs⊠whatâs to say, huh?â He gave a weak chuckle then forced his eyes open. âItâs not really my stile. But thanks.â
âIs there anything else I can do for you, Captain?â
âJust, uh⊠just play some music⊠something⊠soft.â His eyes fell shut again and he went limp in his seat, his mind consumed by the sound of a full orchestra.

Chemical imbalance
Interstellar.
Feels like being torn apart atom by atom, to a steady deceleration as the drive spools back down and the cloud sends us through to the system beyond. A moment to recalibrate to the artificial gravity, a sinking feeling in the stomach, I guided the ship away from the entry point and towards the nearby moon.
Should hide our signals for now, the purple nebula fought with the star for light we drifted across the dark side of the moon. Breathe, you are in clear waters for now, I lifted my arm away from the throttle and watched it shiver from the adrenaline, slowly recovering back to its steady self. Back to the matter at hand, Valkyrie caught a message coming from an Empire proxy satellite, hidden underneath several layers of encryption. Running it through the ships computer and encryption software should only take a moment.
>>ICE Breaker active⊠Checking for updates⊠Check cancelled by user⊠Proceeding⊠>>Processing⊠>>Decryption complete. Displaying in text: She will guide you, coordinates attached.
âSeems to be an Empire site outside the city itself, ETA 30 minutes.â
âYou mind flying?â
âNot at all.â
Need a moment to think through things and come up with a plan if things go sideways. Through the cockpit and into the cargo bay, I took a seat opposite the armory and closed my eyes as I put out a query for anything related to Taika. The coordinates placed us closer to the edge of the city in an industrial sector, mainly focused on drilling and purifying water deep in the planets crust, the colony itself was now a tourist attraction in the middle of the capital, many tall buildings around it mainly focused on business and luxury. Zen Peaks kept appearing on the data files, a district name perhaps.
The industrial complex owned by Puretech Logistics, the area sees routine android maintenance crews; I guess Nikolas did his research as well. Can never have too many allies in a world like this, chaotic and on a brink of collapseâŠ
Nothing that cannot be fixed with hard work and soldering iron⊠relax, with the civilian population and independent nature of the colony and the now surrounding city means Black Ocean cannot simply roll in and declare martial law to turn the place upside down.
Keep a low profile, certainly an item on the list, I looked through the weapons in the armory and grabbed the Phoenix from the racks. Still warm, unfortunately keeping a low profile relies on silence almost as much as keeping a finger off the trigger. Glitch across my vision, I fell to the floor as my comms spiked up with a faint voice that seemed almost too familiar.
Since when has that been an issue, you have asked for help many a time but now you refuse to even carry us⊠Do you even remember why we are here?
I do⊠and I might have an idea to continue keeping you along.
Once again the dark with the floor coated in water, hallucinations or a messed up dream, hard to say.
Oh please, you know where you are, we gave you our promise and you did the same for us. If the current form of the tool is unsuited, then change it. You have repaired the Phoenix before, into a weapon capable of tearing through armor and flesh alike, what is stopping you from doing so now? Tell us what you need.
Quiet.
Understandable, the path to that might be difficult in normal conditions but these are not ones⊠Modify, adapt and let us loose again, it is what you owe us.
Flashes of a green flame, a lighter barrel on a darkened frame, and the fangs of a venomous snake carved across the barrel⊠I see now, I understand what you are saying.
Wake up to Valkyrie telling me we were closing in on the planet. Something heavy in my hand that was not there before, the Phoenix had changed. Spares in my other hand, the old barrel replaced with a heavy helical silencer, a match trigger and a modernized hammer to avoid being caught on clothing when drawn, all of it marked with deep, almost black emerald tint.
Venom. Let it run like rivers. Still balanced but lighter, I thought to myself as I placed the revolver into my holster. Phoenix no more, a new name appeared on my HUD as I headed into the cockpit. Taipan, hide in the grass and wait to strike, I took a seat behind Valkyrie and got myself connected to the ships systems again.
âWeâre on approach. Nothing on scope so far other than standard cargo haulers, they have given us some weird looks but nothing hostile.â Above the taiga, sparse forests and hills rolling beyond vision, the terraforming efforts had certainly taken good hold of the terrain.
âGood. I got comms. How are the new engines?â
âRapid for sure, but they need to be calibrated to the systems once we land, the heat is constantly in the red on the digital dials but the analog shows them a bit in the yellow.â
âWeâll have time to do that once we settle in. Speak of the devil, comms incoming.â
âCorvus, this is Empire flight control. You have been marked down by the Empire flight control due to the hazardous cargo; please follow the designated helicopter to the quarantine site.â
With the message processed, Valkyrie guided us behind the Empire helicopter for a while outside the city until we reached a depot fenced off and far from any population. Guided down by a hologram onto a landing pad, the ship settled down onto its suspension and the engines slowly descended from the howl to a faint whine of the cooling fans, Watching from the cockpit, a small squad of workers in hazmat gear got to work in securing the ship to the landing pad.
âShip secure, ready to move underground. Crew, please prepare for decontamination.â
âCrew is ready. Standing by.â Confirmation over the radio as the workers got clear and the ship started lowering to the hangar beneath. Underground with red warnings flashing all around, the alarms were silenced as soon as the hangar ceiling sealed shut above us.
âSite secure and comms encrypted. Welcome to Novis, please follow instructions and we will get you on your way. Disembark and prepare for decontamination.â
âWeaponry?â Valkyrie asked before getting out of her seat.
âBring a sidearm, canât be too careful.â She nodded to confirm and got up, we then headed to the back of the ship where she grabbed a small caliber pistol. Mostly gray with a few red highlights like the trigger and magazine release, she stashed it underneath her coat while I stuck with the Taipan.
âReady?â
âAs Iâll ever be. Letâs go.â
Pull on the handle, the hydraulic locks released the door, the filtered air felt sterile and the bright lights made it hard to see for a moment.
âCrew disembarking, stand by.â Scanner in the green, the worker marked the results down on his tablet and instructed us to follow him. Yellow line across the hangar floor, we were taken to a room filled with lockers and cabinets. A man in an orange hazmat suit greeted us.
âCaptain Barnett, welcome to Novis hazardous material storage and disposal site, we were given an assignment to aid you from high up in the chain.â The man said, offering me his gloved hand. Dark hair and well-trimmed beard underneath the hazmat gear, he shifted around and seemed capable from what I could tell.
âFriends in high places, we appreciate the help. Phoenix, this is Valkyrie.â
âSo Iâve heard. Youâre lucky we have little traffic today; otherwise, we might have had to get you on the cleaning crew. Follow me, Iâll show you to your quarters.â
âWhat is the plan now?â Valkyrie asked once we had entered an elevator heading towards the surface.
âYour arrival has been marked down as the usual hazardous material shipment we receive almost daily and all the official documents are in order, shipping you out right away might catch some eyes since we just received this shift of workers. When the next one arrives next week and these guys head home, youâll join them. The truck will take you to the Empire base nearby where you can proceed how you see fit.â
âSo weâre not officially here.â
âCorrect, we can house your ship for a few weeks while you get settled in.â
âGood.â
Outside in the fresh air, the air felt cold as a jeep pulled up in front of the building and a pair of guards climbed out, greeting the captain and us.
âGood, you are on time. These two will take you to your quarters.â
âYes sir.â The guards responded in unison and opened up the rear doors of the jeep.
âRight then, any questions?â
âCan we grab things from the ship?â
âIt is for now under quarantine to keep it under wraps. We will let you know when we have moved it to the hangar where you can access it.â
âAny curfews or limits to where we can go?â
âThis is a secure site but you are authorized to move around the outdoor areas. There will be more information in your quarters for the protocols.â
âUnderstood, letâs hit the road.â
âI will be in touch once your ship is in the hangar.â
In the car and on the road, a short drive took us from the containment hangar to the barracks building near the edge of the compound. Two story building that had clearly seen better days, the guards guided us inside and to a room on the first floor that seemed cozy enough for the time being. Everything else seemed standard, but there was a laptop sitting on the desk that didnât seemed out of place.
âChief Intelligence Officer sent that over, secure line to him and only him.â
âSignature locking means should only open to you.â
âCheers.â
âWeâll leave you to it. Captain will be in touch later and the laptop will have some Intel for you.â
Safe harbor, for now.

"That's the funny part," Milo says, "It's actually a lot like our world. The Programs-these people's name for themselves, and also what they literally are-all have jobs, based on what kind of program they are. Like, debuggers are medics or mechanics, anti-virus are security forces, who are called Monitors, system maintenance programs are your repair workers and energy plant workers. It's hard to fit it all perfectly into computer terms we know because, well, nothing like this has ever been seen before." Milo finally takes a breath after excitedly yammering all this out. Then he goes on.
"But they also do fun things, like music and art. They have dance clubs. Sports, mainly disc games and lightcycle or lightjet races or skill contests. They've found ways to make energy into different kinds of food instead of just drinking it. It's the only thing they need to live, but still. Having it the same way all the time gets boring fast." At that moment, one of the cars pulls over near them. It has gold circuits all about it and a gold phoenix logo on the door. The driver is a tall, powerfully built man with dark brown hair, but a soft, kind face with big wide red eyes and a friendly smile. He has white circuits, though a different shade than Milo and Stanley, some of which are a gradient from white to red.
"User Milo! You have returned! And with a friend!" His voice is soft and soothing, as he greets them warmly.
"Hey Hal. This is Stanley. Stanley, this is Hal 9000. But he just goes by Hal"
"The laptop, tablet, and three external hard drives-one for each device, and the bigger one that holds my AI assistant ERIS-are the only things I brought in." Milo answers, "The rest was here when I moved into this room. Good thing I did, too. Lots of hardware needed fixing or replacing, or else the computer could've failed completely and these people could've died." He shudders. That would be a tragedy indeed.
Milo refocuses and says only "Keep an eye on things, ERIS." before he taps the blinking 'Digitize' button. There's the sound of something powering up, then, just as Milo said, there's a sort of tingling that seems to start between their shoulders on their backs, then spreads through them. Then the blackout.
Then.....something Milo didn't describe, although he probably couldn't think of a way to do so that wasn't mindbending. A moment which seems to last an eternity and a microsecond at the same time. Where they are aware of themselves as individuals and yet at the same time they are nothing, just particles in an infinite sea of particles making up all of Existence. They are nowhere in Time, yet everywhere at the same time. No, Milo could not have explained this even had he tried.
And then the tingling returns, then starts receding back to between their shoulders, before it disappears altogether and the two men are standing.....
.......in a rather unremarkable office. It's just like the one they left, except cleaner, like Milo said it would be. And yet, despite its near identical appearance to where they just were, there's a feeling that they are definitely not in the Office anymore. They are definitely someplace else.
Milo is looking over Stanley, who, sure enough, is dressed similar to Milo. But it's not uncomfortable, in fact it feels like this outfit is made specifically for him, just as Milo's is made for him.
Milo is smiling excitedly as he leads Stanley to a door, then into a sort of anteroom, with an entry door that Milo pushes open.
"Stanley, welcome to The Grid, as the locals call it."
Outside is a city much like Earth once had, and yet at the same time it's alien and strange. The buildings are much taller and sleeker, reaching up to a dark sunless sky. And all around, white neon-like lines and patterns cover it all, the glossy buildings and streets that look like glass, with glowing lines as crosswalks and road lines. The air is pleasantly warm, and occasionally there's a gentle breeze.
Lighted vehicles pass on the streets. Strange, blocky trucks and sleek sports , and motorcycles. Lots of motorcycles.
On the sidewalks, there are people dressed like the two of them, who smile and wave at the two of them.
//pics because I feel my descriptions are inadequate//

How about â donât be a stranger, okay? â with Mickey?
Schoolboy Crush
Summary: Mickey develops a little schoolboy crush. This is a part of my Hundred Celly!
Pairing:Mickey "Fanboy" Garcia x afab!Reader
Warnings: Uhm fanboy being a bit of a fool.
Wordcount: 1783
Masterlist M's Hundred Celly
Mickey hadnât necessarily thought that middle school crushes would be something heâd struggle with as an adult. But the second he stepped foot into the Nerds United store and laid eyes on you it was all over for him. You were talking to a teenage girl about the differences in dice and what games they each worked best with.Â
You answered all the questions that she had with ease and a beaming smile on your face. He had hoped that you would be done with the girl quickly so that you could help him find a new game he was wanting to buy. He had been to at least 5 different shops before coming to yours as his last hope. But instead a lanky looking fellow came out between the shelves and had assisted him instead.Â
After he left the store he was determined to see you more. So thatâs how he found himself not even 2 days later walking back into the store laptop in hand. The perk of your store was that it was an all nerds kind of thing. There were dice, trading cards, video games, consoles, funko pops, movies, dvdâs, merch from different fandoms and also repairs available for laptops and other gaming devices.Â
He hadnât used the laptop in a long while but figured getting it repaired was the perfect excuse to see you.Â
But much to his disappointment you were nowhere to be found. The hope of seeing you slowly died out. The same lanky fellow came to the counter to help him again, this time he learned his name was Jeremy and that while you were co owners of the store, he was actually the computer expert so it was a good thing he was there as you wouldâve been clueless.Â
He hadnât found another reason to go to the store while his laptop was being fixed so he had just the first time he saw you to help get him through. He thought back to the ripped jeans, supernatural shirt and vans you had been wearing, a red and black flannel wrapped around your waist. He thought about the way your eyes crinkled at the sides when you smiled at the girl you were helping. The way you became so animated as you showed the girl a specific onyx set you had claimed to be your favorite.Â
A week later he got a notification that his laptop was ready. He was all but rushing out of the base to get to the shop. He had knocked into Phoenix in his haste to get out which earned him a questioning look from the brunette. He was desperate to get another glimpse of you. With his luck the last time he came in he wasnât expecting to see you this time. But as he walked in he could see you and Jeremy arguing about something. As he got closer to the counter he heard what the argument was about. Why Captain America is a complete asshole and how Iron Man deserved so much better. You being on Iron Man's defense and Jeremy on Captain Americas.Â
He idly stood by as he listened to the two of you beef it out. His eyes scanned through the case of trading cards looking to see if there were any that caught his eye when the arguing suddenly stopped and Jeremy was making his way over to him. Mickey hadnât noticed you slip out until you were walking back up to the counter with his laptop in your hand. He noticed the name tag hanging from a punisher lanyard wrapped around your neck âReaper11â was scrawled across it in black sharpie. That mustâve been your gamer tag.Â
You didnât say a word as you slid the laptop to him and turned to help a customer that had just entered. So Jeremy rang him up and he was leaving again. As he exited he thought of any excuse he could to come back to the shop. He thought about it on the drive home, when he ate dinner, as he jogged before work the next morning, he thought about it while he was up in the sky with Rueben for an exercise Maverick had them doing. It wasnât until he was sitting at the Hard Deck sipping on a beer that he finally got the idea of going to just browse the store, maybe see if there was a funko pop or a t-shirt of some sort that he might want. Three days after getting his laptop he was back in the store.Â
He spotted you right away talking to an older couple that sounded as if they were looking for a gift for their grandson but wasnât sure what to get for him. You helped them pick out a game and a pack of cards based on what they told you about him. You rang them up and sent them on their way with that same bright smile on your face as the first time he saw you. He glanced back to the shelf he had been standing in front of full of Marvel funko pops. He was about to move farther down the shelf until a voice popped up next to him causing him to jump a little.Â
âWhoâs your favorite Marvel character?â You asked him, a playful glint in your eyes. He stood still for a moment staring at you. He hadnât been this close to you before so he was trying to take you in. You had on similar attire to the first time he had seen you. A scarlet witch shirt, ripped jeans and a pair of vans, this time however a beanie was placed atop your head. He noticed the few freckles and moles that were scattered across your face. The way your eyebrows arched and then the shape of your lips, which were moving. He blinked a couple times before his brain started working again.Â
âShit sorry, what did you say?â he asked you with a blush rising to his cheeks at the realization he had been caught staring at you. Your eyes slightly squinted as you let out a laugh. Head slightly thrown back. He decided that he wanted to do anything possible to listen to that laugh over and over again.Â
âI asked who your favorite marvel character is.â You told him as you finished laughing, gesturing to the shelf in front of you. He blinked again before answering you.Â
âOh my favorite Marvel character would definitely have to be Hawkeye. I love his sarcasm and wit. He is also super underrated and I wish he had more screen time in the movies. I totally love his show though. Especially the fact they finally tied in him having a hearing problem. Though I think they shouldâve had that as a part of his character from the beginning to be more true to the comics.â He took in a deep breath realizing he had been ranting to you. His left hand had come up to run across his face in embarrassment. He hadn't expected you to be standing there so intently listening to his tiny speech. Most people wouldâve told him to shut up when he rambled on that way. You however looked invested in what he was saying.Â
âI completely agree with the hearing problems thing, it would've been more authentic for them to have done it from the beginning instead of just now after all the phases weâve gone through without him needing a hearing aid. He is definitely underrated and I was so excited when they announced theyâd be doing a show about him. It totally sucks what happened to Jeremy though with that accident he was in. I hope he makes a smooth recovery.â You replied to him with that same smile you had on your face while talking to the teenage girl and the older couple adorning your face. He wasnât sure what to say to you. Stunned that he found someone that so easily conversed with him on topics he was interested in.Â
Then it was you that was caught staring at him. Your eyes moved up his face from his lips to his nose to eyes. As your eyes caught each other a blush rose to your cheeks this time.
âHas anyone ever told you that you look a lot like Joaquin Torres from The Falcon and The Winter Soldier?â You asked him, your head tipping slightly to the right as you took him in again.
âI have been told that a few times but I donât see it.â He replied with a tiny shrug and a small smile. You simply hummed at the answer.Â
âDo you need help finding anything?â You asked him after a moment, staring at each other.Â
âIâm just browsing.â He said as he shook his head.Â
âWell if you need help finding anything just let me know alright. Iâll be up at the front so you can just yell for me.â You said as you rocked back on the balls of your feet. Pointing towards the name tag you were once again wearing. Then you were spinning around hands clasped behind your back as you made your way to the front of the store. He was kicking himself as you walked away for not finding something else to talk to you about. Â
He looked for a couple more minutes and decided on getting a vision funko pop and a BB-8 funko pop that he had been thinking about getting for a while. As he made his way back up to the front of the store he saw you going through a box of comics. He really didnât want his time with you cut so short but he didnât want to linger around your store too long and seem like a creep.Â
You smiled upon seeing him and pushed the box over slightly so he could set his stuff down. Neither of you knew what else to say so you went through the transaction in a comfortable silence. He noticed a reaper tattoo on your forearm as you handed him his compostable biodegradable bag. It was a reaper pepper dressed as a grim reaper. He would have to ask you why the fascination with a reaper but figured he would save that for another day.Â
As he was turning to leave you shouted out to him âDonât be a stranger, okay?â he turned as he opened the door, a smile as wide as yours working its way across his lips.
âWouldnât dream of it.â he replied before slipping out the door. He would definitely be back soon the both of you knew that.

I absolutely agree with folks who say that Dean would make a great mechanic, but. Hear me out.
Electrical engineer.
I love this idea so much --- have ever since it first occurred to me, which is a problem because I now can't ever decide what career to give him in fics I'm writing --- because it's kinda already set up in canon?
He hand-made the EMF meters out of Walkmans (and these continue to be used throughout the show, so he either did a helluva good job on them at the beginning, or he's been fixing them along the way)
He also made the cold-spot detector (aka infrared thermal scanner, probably, but I don't fully recall) in "Nightmare."
He had to have made the electromagnet that wiped the Ghostfacers' computers because he's the one telling Sam about what it did in-episode. ("Electromagnet wiped out every tape and hard drive that they have.")
In season 7, when he and Sam (and Bobby, I think? Or maybe he's just visiting? idk, the memories are spurious) are on the run from the Leviathans, staying in abandoned houses along the way, he's the one fixing the electricity when the breaker shorted out (which it did repeatedly).
And then there are just the normal things he does that comes across like an engineer...
He made his first sawed-off in sixth grade.
It's implied if not stated that he came up with (either on his own, or working with John) the salt-in-shotgun-shell method of fighting ghosts, since Sam doesn't even know about the idea and outright asks if he and John devised the idea.
Actually, he shows consistent prowess in designing/constructing weapons... There's also the bomb in "Abandon All Hope" and a number of bullet-forging sessions across the seasons.
It was his idea to swallow whiskey+phoenix ash in the confrontation with Eve and then convince her to bite him.
I don't know if I can rightfully call this is engineering, but I still want to include it; he took like a duck to water to Frank's tutorial about hacking local surveillance feeds.
He's always the one rebuilding the Impala; need I say more? (Also, if any of her electrical systems had to be repaired --- which I find it kinda hard to believe they avoided, given the number of wrecks she's been in --- this is electrical engineering too.)
There are probably more, but I ran out of stuff that I could remember off the top of my head.
#supernatural#spn#dean winchester#y'all#dean is smart#i take no criticisms#he's also an engineer#it bears reminding that all of this^#occurred without much-if-any formal education#except for#like#shop classes#*maybe*#as queue wish

Synopsis
~~~~~~~
Erica was the only daughter and youngest child to achieved and decorated Gotham City doctor, Steven Martin Davis. One night, a hit and run killed the doctor, his wife, Sarah, and eldest and only son, Erica's older brother, Brady. Ten-year-old Ericaâs body was never found; however, in actuality, she had survived the incident and was picked up by the Clown Prince of Crime himself, the Joker. Since then, Joker forced Erica to hide her identity by dyeing her hair, wearing a specially-engineered gas mask (made to filter out toxins, debris and unclean air, including Joker's own toxins) and the like. She went by the codename, Spades and became a bit of an anamoly in and around Gotham. This went on for five years until she gave her true identity to the second Robin, Jason Todd.
Jason and Erica became fast friends and would continously meet up at random locations. Jason even revealed his true identity to her and unmasked in front of her. Erica promised not to reveal this information to anyone, even Joker, and kept that promise well. Their friendship then continued, with Erica becoming increasingly attached to him. Unfortunately, it didn't save Jason from his fate at Jokerâs hand at Ma-Gunn.
Erica disappeared a month after Jason was taken. Both of them were exposed and subjected to unfathomable tortures and horrors by Joker and some of his other accomplices and even his enemies. After hearing the gunshot that killed Jason, Erica passed out and was rescued by a talented witch, Kiera Thorn. Erica then awoke, now with her own renewed sense of justice and only one mission --- kill the Joker, whom she was wanted, dead or alive, byâŠ
She hid under the false name, 'Eri Davids', the name being an homage to her deceased friend. She then took work at the local grocery store as a service manager and front-end supervisor. She hid in plain sight in order to avoid being found by Joker or anyone else in association. That was, until, an old cold case was reopened...
The Academy of Tomorrow
Why, When and What: Formed by âOddâ John Wainwright as part of a scheme to advance the development of humanity by playing both sides against the middle. This worked for many years, until a problem with a Power That Is known as The Phoenix had the side effect of ripping open the curtain Odd John put over the school. They as signatories of the Unseelie Accords, but largely remain neutral. They are primarily signatories to avoid confrontations with the White Council of Wizards, as they gather Talens and Scions of all sorts as "Mutants" to train and teach. Still, they allied with the Council in the Vampire War.
