DC GO! Webcomics Announced
DC Comics has announced DC GO!, webcomics designed for mobile devices that will be published exclusively on DC Universe Infinite. DC GO! will feature a mix of original webcomic content as well as vertically reformatted DC and MAD Magazine classics. The original titles will release weekly. The first three original webcomics are Harley Quinn in Paradise, Nothing Butt Nightwing, and Renaissance of Raven. Reformatted DC classics will include titles like Batman: Hush, All-Star Superman, and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Harley Quinn in Paradise is a romance / comedy from CRC Payne, Siobhan Chiffon, and Cathy Le. "Harley Quinn is rarely lucky in love—and after her recent breakup with The Joker, has been feeling particularly chaotic. Ivy advises Harley to lay low for a while—maybe a little R&R (recklessness and robbery) would be good for her! Good advice, right? True to character, Harley decides the best way to lay low is to plaster her face across every television in America and find true love on TV’s hottest reality dating show. Harley heads for the show’s island setting, ready to be the best contestant the program has ever seen…because she’s playing to win by any means necessary! And can she help it if she accidentally falls in love along the way?"
Nothing Butt Nightwing is an action / comedy from Patrick R. Young and Moy R. Marco. "Dick Grayson, the first Robin, has made a name for himself as the hero Nightwing. But after several failed civilian-identity career attempts (a bar, a gym, etc.), he lands his biggest deep-cover operation yet—as an international supermodel! He’s got the eyes of the audience, the other models, and even a few agents. But he only has eyes for one thing…the Poison Ivy protégé on the hunt to steal the expensive (and environmentally harmful) jewels around the models’ necks…and perhaps the models themselves! But can he serve justice, and serve lewks, while traveling the globe?"
Renaissance of Raven is a fantasy from Sina Grace, Nico Bascuñan, Katherine Lobo, and Carola Borelli. "Raven needs an escape. Her fellow Titans won’t leave her alone, she just had a fight with Beast Boy, and to top it off, it’s the anniversary of her mom’s death. We find her trying to live life beyond the curse of her father. She’s over it! Raven is more than her trauma! When a strange girl in a graveyard proclaims that Raven is some kind of destined hero, she’s ready to walk away…until suddenly, she’s pulled through an enchanted portal…to the kingdom of Galonia. Raven is sent hundreds of years into the past, where she must contend with a cabal of witches and the difficult choice of helping those in need or returning home!"
DC GO! launches on November 20, 2024.

how do you make your comic edits?
i clasp my hands together and wish with all my might
#if it's an older comic i try to pull the panels from dcui or mu if i can for better quality#(newer comics on rco are generally uploads of the digital version rather than scans so they're way crisper)#then i edit them in superimpose on my phone because i hate editing on a computer#superimpose is lwk The most annoying app ever and i think you have to pay for it#i had to pay for it like 10 years ago now. no idea if you still have to#i recommend just using photoshop or photopea and watching a couple tutorials. it will be So much easier and better quality trust me#ask#anon

Even though I have DC Universe Infinite, I love having the physical comics in my hands. I’m not sure where this came from because I’ve always preferred reading manga and graphic novels digitally. I have no idea why. I usually prefer reading digitally, but for some reason, I just prefer comics physically?
Maybe it’s because they tend to have more dynamic colors and frames? Maybe it’s because I consider comics more like artworks, and I prefer having physical art (still haven’t gotten around to hanging up the frames in my new home yet)
Anyway, I can’t decide which comic to buy next? I’ve already pre-ordered Batgirl 2011 and that’s arriving in October, but now that I’ve finally gotten my bookcase sorted out, I want to get another comic. Right now, I’m torn between Batman the Knight, Dark Knights of Steel Vol 2, and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Option 1 has been on my wish list for almost two years now. Option 2 was supposed to be my next purchase since I already have Vol 1 and was waiting for Vol 2 to release, but life happens and I kept putting it off. Option 3 is apparently getting an inspired movie in 2026, and I really want to have a hard copy before then
#personal#dc#I have a few other comics on my wishlist#such as One Minute War and Poison Ivy#but those can wait#I want these comics for the art more than the actual story#Batgirl and Flashpoint are the only comics I have so far that I bought for the story#I’m constantly tempted to try and buy War Games#but I think the art style is so ugly#god what I would give to flash forward into the future when Poison Ivy and The Boy Wonder are completed#and the compiled volumes available for purchase#We Are Robin is also in my wishlist but it’s sitting a little bit lower since I haven’t finished reading it on DCUI yet

Asking peeps who have DCUI app for comics, if I do the free trial and get billed at the end of it will I keep being billed on the first day I got billed (so seven days from today) or will I be billed going forward on the day I started the free trial?
I was trying to figure it out from their disclaimer but I am not sure.

I cannot take these guys seriously at all, and I feel bad for Kara having to deal with them:

(Daring New Adventures of Supergirl 5)
They are just called The Gang. That's it. I'm side-eying Kupperburg/O'Flynn so hard right now.
#i wish dcui had the letters to the editors saved in them i wanna read 80s readers giving them a hard time#nik reads dc#💫#💫.cbz

Literally you don't have to pay me, I will hand scan and upload all your comics. I'll make lists that make sense! When someone searches Green Arrow thinking they can get a primer list there WILL ACTUALLY BE ONE FOR OLLIE! AND I'LL DO IT FOR FREE!!
DC I am begging you, please hire me to fix DCUI, I'll scan them all by hand (I used to love making the 100 copies of things for my teacher), I'll organize it all! The events will be in order and not missing crucial parts. DC just let me in the building.

Spent yesterday finally reading Contagion.
I've put it off for...obvious timely reasons.
Amongus
Was still very uncomfortable to read in parts...too real. It also seemed stretched out too long, and I feel it really flopped anticlimactically at the end. 😔
Look at their funny height difference! Bruce was only drawn like this in a few issues...
I will admit, sick Timmy made me want to scream, cry, and throw up even if I knew he'd end up ok. Especially the issue where he's on the brink of death and dreamed of his family being together again.
Well...onto Legacy for the full experience, I guess.
#dc comics#batman#ras al ghul#batman contagion#batman legacy#ive read bits and pieces of legacy already but never all 30 issues#including the prelude#at least thats what dcuis giving me#will see how i feel#*meta

I just checked my DCUI and LOCG stats again, and after having had DCUI for 26 months, my daily reading rate for comics is still around 8.5 comics per day.
(And I’m a fast reader who has time built into my day that I use to read comics regularly)
It took me 24 months (February 2023-January 2025) for my reading project working through the major titles relating to: Dick, Babs, Tim, Cass, Steph and Damian, from 1989 to current comics.
24 months. And there’s still significant stretches of Batman, ‘Tec and Shadows of the Bat from that period I haven’t read (and basically all of Legends of the Dark Knight)
This is why, when people ask why a comics writer isn’t as ‘across’ a character as that character’s biggest fans are, I have to laugh.
Even someone who deeply loves the character doesn’t have time for a full canon review before they write a character (unless we’re talking about someone with under 50 total appearances)
Depending on era, they might have access to a character bible or they might not. A canon refresh is more likely to look like ‘read a couple of issues from this set: origin stories, best regarded/reprinted stories, personal favourite stories, recent appearances’. Or they might just be working off personal knowledge of what they consider the core of the character.
ESPECIALLY if the character is only making a short appearance in a title not focused on them. Nobody reads dozens of appearances for every character making a cameo in a title. It’s too much work.
But even if you’re taking over the main title for that character, it’s probably going to be ‘character bible and reskim a favourite storyline or two for the character that you want to reference’.
And when you’re refreshing your characterisation that way, you are going to find yourself converging on the long term agreed ‘main character traits’ written by a lot of other writers, or aping your very favourite previous run.
(And look some runs ARE written by people who were clearly keeping up with the current run they just took over and continue stories through smoothly; but plenty of times they’re not)
#also why if your favourite run doesn’t match the writer’s favourite run#you’re probably going to end up annoyed about ‘where is X’
