It's Sunday. I had plans. Clean the house, do some laundry, some life admin, the gym, find a body of water to enjoy what's presumably the last hot day of the year. Instead, I stumbled across 'Salvage' this morning and I have not done anything else but read it all day. I dont even go there, to quote the ancient Gods. I have not even seen a single episode of this show. But I cannot stop reading it. It's so so so so good. But I have no AO3 account so I can only leave Kudos there. So here's my comment: ARGHHDUWHAULA THIS IS SO GOOD I WANT TO CLAW MY FACE OFF!!!

This is the graph shown in the tweet. And this is a very good example of how data can be very misleading without context.

So the reason for this is simple. Charles was not in DRS as much as the others. He made passes quickly, while many of these others had longer runs in DRS. The speed difference here is made by DRS, not the car. All this shows is who was in DRS and for the longest. It doesn't show anything substantive about the cars.

And it's pretty clear because while the Ferrari is not the fastest car are you trying to tell me it's slower than the Sauber? Really.

This kph difference is basically the exact difference that comes from DRS. All this shows was that Charles didn't have any long runs in DRS compared to the others. He also made any passes quickly instead of being stuck. Running on the straights without DRS was around 314kph(give or take) for everyone.

Mid field cars often have the chance to hit higher speeds simply because they are more likely to be in DRS for longer.

And this is why data in context is important. Just presenting the raw data this way does not inform anything about the cars and the race and borders on misinformation.

hats off to those of you who do do this but i could never post art on tumblr that I think could be connected to my person in any way like i could never connect my art on tumblr to an instagram which in turn could be connected to my activities with my art. Which to a certain extent is a shame because irl I've had art on markets and in exhibitions etc so i kind of reserve my Good Art TM for informal and formal events irl. so to an extent tumblr get second rate which i think is a shame but people still like what i've done now so if i integrated these different spheres for my art that would mean more people get to see my art however i am paranoid & would never admit to having a tumbrl irl anyways and also i mostly listened when my teachers talked about internet safety in the 00's i guess.

And this all to preface that I am making some lino-cut bookmarks for a small local bookstore, and at least one of the designs depicts a butch - I wish i could show you but rather feel comfort in the knowledge that in near future in a bookstore somewhere an artwork of a butch will be included when people buy their books <3
