It’s time to reveal the winners of the design contest! First off, I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who joined. Your enthusiasm and dedication to this was amazing to see. This could not have happened without you guys, so thank you!

Before I reveal the winners, I’d like everyone to take a look at and appreciate the amazing designs everyone’s created. Truly, this was even harder to judge than last year, every single design deserves a medal.

This design is by @ricksoo! I love how you have the power radiating from their chest and flowing through their body like veins. It’s such a nice detail, especially since the power surge in their chest is shaped like a flower blossom! Awesome job ^^

This design is by @haycoat-art! Choosing to take the bluebonnet prompt and make it a porcelain Mewtwo is such a creative idea, and I think it turned out beautifully! The pattern is gorgeous, and I love the detail of the cracks leaking water(I think? It might be blood), because of course a Mewtwo made of porcelain would be delicate. The creativity for this one is astounding!

This design is by @altaria-andthe-two! Absolutely gorgeous art, the flower at the end of the tail is beautiful! The leave sprouting from the base of the tail and the flowers creeping up their second neck and around their head has such a cool effect. Such a neat design!!

This design is by @tokyoteddywolf! The patterns on this one are just beautiful, the wavy lines almost seem like water, and the fade between colors on the tail mimics a bluebonnet wonderfully. I love how this one is more blue themed, with the only bit of green being the bluebonnet they’re holding. Amazing design!

This design was by @risingbrightness! My favorite part of this one is how the tail fades from blue to white to yellow. Blue and white can be difficult to fade into each other and not look too abrupt, and you did it perfectly! The little cape they have with a bluebonnet broach is so freaking cute, I just want to give this Mewtwo a hug. Awesome job!!

This design is by @fluffymuffincentral! I love this mew so much, the fluffy chest fur seems to mimic flower petals, and the little white spots all over their body seem like stars. Such a beautiful (and huggable!) mew!! Such a cool design ^^

This design is by @elegantcollectionpenguin! This design uses a lot more yellow than any of the others, and I honestly love it so much!! It contrasts the blue and purple so nicely, which can be difficult to do because they’re very different colors. You’ve managed to pull it off stunningly! Amazing work, they’re such a pretty ‘two!

This design is by @sketchbook-gal-xe! I love how you added leopard spots, that’s such a cool take on the bluebonnet patterns!!!! I love love love that the spots on the tail slowly fade from white to a darker green, it just looks so pretty! Awesome job!

(in case people were wondering, I accidentally left this one out of the original post. I can’t believe I forgot it!!! It’s so pretty!! I’m so sorry about that ^^’)

This was by @mushroom-for-art!! Bonbon is such a cute name for this guy! The tail being a flower seems to be a common theme for these, but every single person has done it slightly differently. I love how the flowers are mostly white with yellow pollen, the edges slightly tinged with blue. The vines extending from the base of the tail are gorgeous as well, and together it gives such a nice, flowery vibe. Such an amazing design! ^^

This design was by @starintheday! I love how this one uses so many blues and purples, they all go so well together. And the contrast of the green tipped tail and paws looks super cool! I love a stripy mew and this is exactly what that is. Amazing job!!

This design was made by @jet-the-hedgehog! Before I say anything about the design, I want you to know your style is freaking adorable. Those eyes!! I love them!! As for the colors, it’s so cool that you have the face almost completely white. The fade between that and the blue of the body is really neat, it looks a lot like how the flower’s coloring fades in really life! And of course, the stem-like tail really ties the whole theme together. Well done!!

This is by @vanessa-the-mewtwo! Oh my gosh, this one is just absolutely stunning. The flower crown, the vines wrapping around the tail and the tip being the flowery petals, and the ears being un-opened flower buds all contribute to such a regal looking mew, not to mention the flower wrist cuffs! Such a fancy little guy, they’re rightfully name Quiing. They look like a King!! Such an amazing design. Bravo!

This design was by @ghost1286! I love the contrast with the deep blue of the tail and the purple at the tip! It looks super cool, and I honestly think the abrupt change of color rather than a slow fade had a really nice effect. Awesome design!!

This design was by @waffledragon10! The flowers around the neck are stunning-they genuinely look real!! I love how fluffy and flowery they are, and the stem tail breaking off at the end into leaves is really beautiful. Another gorgeous, regal mew!!

This design is by @gunllet! Easily the most unique out of everyone, I really like the armor on them! It’s a really neat idea to have it attached to their body, and it looks really painful, poor guy :(

And finally, this design is by @a-shy-mimiktwo! You went for darker blues than most people, and I really love how it turned out! The sharper fades look really cool, and I love the yellow tipped tail. It goes so well with the rest of the colors! Such a cool design ^^

And that’s all of the designs! Genuinely, this was the hardest decision I’ve had to make in a while. Everyone did so well, I just sat here on my phone for probably an hour typing out this post and just utterly baffled at how I was going to choose the winners.

@haycoat-art’s design!! What won me over was the sheer creativity of it. I’d have never thought someone would do a porcelain Mewtwo, and then you pull this beautiful design out of your pocket! Amazing job.

Quiing by @vanessa-the-mewtwo!! I just love how regal looking they are, and the amount of care you put into the flower and leaf placement is amazing. Such a cool design!

And finally, in third place, we have…

@waffledragon10’s design!! Third place was the hardest for me to choose, everyone did such an amazing job. I had at least five designs I couldn’t choose between! But in the end, the flowery ruff just pulled me in. It’s like a whole garden in there, and I just think it’s such a cool idea!! Wonderful design ^^

Could you to Willow? She's my fav and I can't believe she's not on the list!

Of course! Here's my willow redesign:

Willow's was a redesign I was super excited to do, mostly because I had a lot of ideas surrounding how I could change her appearance to better suit her name and personality! I did like willow's canon design, but I always thought it was a little bit bland compared to some of the other leafwings and wanted to right that wrong.

The most obvious changes I made were to Willow's body shape and webs - when making this design, I wanted to go for a gentle-giant look (and yes I am imagining Willow as 4x bigger than Sundew,) mimicking the height and size of a willow tree by giving her a more graceful/smooth body shape that bends like the tree's branches. In order to fully accomplish this Willow-look, I also made her spine webs much longer and droopier - kind of like a horse's mane. The finishing touch to this transformation was adding long willow branch patterns on her web membrane. The end result is still more subtle than I would've liked, but the alternative (giving her willow branches that looked like hair) made Willow look like she was from a totally different tribe. RIP.

I kept her colors slightly the same, using light fern greens for her scales and wing patterns but adding darker tones for her wing/webs/horns. The pattern itself is very fluid, with swirls and small leaf-veins on her legs and stomach. I think this might just be the least jagged pattern I've ever used on a redesign, since most of my works will have at least some element of sharpness in the pattern! While I am slightly worried that this doesn't look like Willow anymore, I guess my redesign wouldn't be very good if she came out looking exactly how she went in.

i think i could design a better death arena for children than those hunger games amateurs.

the whole premise of the games is all pageantry. every year you get a crop of 24 candidates around whom the entire state media apparatus dedicates an entire year to building celebrity narratives. this candidate is the younger sibling of last year's winner - these candidates are young lovers forced to compete - he's smart - she's fast - root for them, care about them, watch them, form opinions on them, bet on them. and then they stick them all in an arena to kill each other, which is a great entertainment premise, except that they make the arenas themselves really boring and generic. ooo, they're in...a forest.

it's not even an interestingly designed forest. imagine if the game designers treated their arena like an actual video game designer treats level design. discrete zones with multiple paths between each room, creative use of lighting to guide players to points of interest, points of interest scattered across the map, discoverable resources hidden to encourage exploration. instead they just have a generic outdoors location and if you get too close to the edge they throw a random fireball at you.

the 75th games are especially bad about this. the arena is laid out radially into 12 wedges, and each hour one wedge becomes especially dangerous in a 12-hour loop. as a mechanic, this is genius. it forces everyone to keep moving, making "survival by hiding" an engaging and tense viewing experience instead of someone sitting in a tree for three days. plus, it encourages players to return to the center of the arena, where travel time between wedges is short, which creates a high-value zone for players to regularly return to and conflict over. in other words, it's a mechanic which incentives players to adopt dramatic, dynamic, exciting behaviors which are entertaining to watch (not to mention it communicates geography to the audience well). but it only incentives those behaviors if the players understand what's happening, and they go out of their way not to tell the players anything! when they figure out what's going on, the showrunners spin the arena to disorient the players, like they're intentionally trying to get them to just. randomly wander the jungle instead.

this isn't even to mention how often they create undramatic, boring deaths. they plant poison berries around the arena. they supply no fresh water and no way to get it. they roll poison clouds over sleeping victims. these happen to work out in the books themselves but you have to imagine that extremely often these just result in players dying unexciting deaths.

the cardinal sin though, of course, is that nothing is done to personalize the arena for the crop of contestants that year. if i'm designing the 75th hunger games and two of my most beloved contestants famously had to cancel their wedding because of a return to the games, i would OBVIOUSLY give them a trail of, i don't know, wild game which conveniently leads directly past a well defended wedding chapel. will they hole up there for a while? hold a mock ceremony for themselves? do or receive ironic violence here? stare wistfully and move on? any of it is better television than getting attacked by generic attack monkeys. you should have a dozen of these things on the map for every single candidate. but the game makers are more interested in doing the same thing every other game has done than in telling a compelling story.

it makes me second guess enjoying the children's murder arenas at all.

I’m making this a separate post because the original is funniest without context, but for real you have no idea how stressful this is. The reason why relates to this post

As independent artists making a living from our art, it isn’t enough to just make good art, especially when that art is a TTRPG. TTRPGs are not a respected artform, not even by the primary consumerbase. It’s so dire that it takes us making a lot of long posts just to convince people that TTRPG game design is real at all, that a TTRPG’s rules can be written a certain way on purpose to have intended results.

Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy has good game mechanics, on purpose, but having good game mechanics is only actually a selling point to a shockingly small percentage of people who play TTRPGs, so those good game mechanics won’t sell the game, at least not as much as we need to continue operations.

But no matter how good your art is or how respected your artistic medium is, just making good art is not enough to make a living. Because the truth is, art doesn’t make money at all, social media does. The best, most overtly good art in the world only makes as much money as the number of paying customers that you can reach. All the money we make through Eureka is because I’m out here on tumblr busting my ass to get these notes, followers, etc.

Money is tight, we need to finish Eureka, and we need a new release like Silk & Dagger and Death Bed to get multiple major revenue streams and diversify our market reach in order to make more money and, like, pay my bills, but I can’t work on either of those right now, because I have to spend at least one work day a week entirely focused on social media or else no amount of progress on our real projects means anything, because otherwise they won’t sell.

It’s a little bit like being disabled - or rather kind of an extension of being disabled, since if I was more able-bodied I could work a “real” job that has a steady paycheck - my actual survival depends on other people liking me more than anything else, it’s a popularity contest, and not only I’m particularly strong in, as an uncharismatic, abrasive aspie with strong opinions about the very medium art that I work in, in an environment where openly disliking an element of the art that someone else engages with is considered not just a personal, but moral attack.

If you think this actually does make reblogging hot goth elves on tumblr sound pretty stressful, and want me to make enough money to continue to make TTRPGs for a living, there's a bunch that you can do to help even without spending a dime.

THE PURPOSE OF THAT TALISMAN | Zagan L-card React | Summary

Alright ya'll it's the first react of the year! I'm finally getting around to going over this sweet devil's L-card!

I'm happy he was the first one to get this opportunity because he's actually the first noble I fell for during the launch! I was intrigued by his bunny ear horns and he's selectively mute.

With that being said, because this is a Nightmare Pass exclusive, I of course cannot give you EVERYTHING that's inside the card in order to keep within the wishes of PB's content rules, but as I did with previous NP cards, summaries with heavy paraphrasing with a few screenshots are the best I can do~

At the local pub in Gehenna, all the devils are gathered together in order to view a popular convention in Japan (they call it Cumiket in the game but iirc it's Comiket, right?)

There's rumors that it's Paimon who went down to Earth to whisper about the devil's lives in Hell to influence a few humans to make a game about it and well...MC asks Paimon to confirm or deny that and he gives a "Maybe I diddd <3" answer (love this)

So while MC is chillin' at the VIP table consisting of Sitri, Leraye, Paimon and Zagan (Ppyong too) they wait for the results to come in

Funny mention is that the citizens of Gehenna totally do not know where Abyssos is, and I find it funny that it seems to carry throughout the story that the other local citizens have nothing but general ideas and rumors to go off of on how each country acts, but the Kings and some nobles are knowledgeable and for good reason.

It's also cute to me though that the nobles that were in the lead for the popularity contest were Foras, Bael, Sitri, and Zagan. All the devils from all over Hell were tuned in to see who would win.

It's then...that the winner is revealed! Zagan!?!?!

The winner gets to be a model for Phenomenon, similar to when we saw him for all of the selfie cards. This time though we meet two new characters Usako, and Nesagi. (I really love their designs) it appears that they are Pheno's assistants!

Also, we see that Phenomenon threatens and literally beats up(and stabs) his assistants for the smallest of things, it's funny because we were just seeing him getting bent over and turned into a pretzel in Asmo's selfie card, but in this story he's pretty much a strict, abusive boss. 💀 Usako and Nesagi seem to not mind.

It was also important to note, that MC was also chosen by Pheno to join Zagan in the photoshoot. And it's not just any normal photoshoot. We are aware of Pheno's preferences when it comes to photography and he wants to capture a whole new side to this devil thinking MC can help with that

It turns out, that yes...MC can help and Zagan is more than willing to show a new side of himself in front of them. With the help of talismans.

The smut is actually pretty well written for Zagan's personality. He's calm, confident, and at the same time so needy for MC's touch. You also notice that during this entire time he's been speaking to MC in longer sentences and opening up.

There's also a pretty strong power bottom vibe that comes from him. Because even though MC is on top of him, he's calling the shots from below. He even writes the amount of times MC came on his thigh. (w h y is he so hot? fcuk)

So after he pretty much fucks MC into a messy fluid puddle, Phenomenon starts takin' photos like crazy as he's finally satisfied with his subject now. He completes the magazine cover and MC gets their own private VIP photos of them having sex. There's a cameo of their clothes on the cover too.

Pheno and his assistants. They are so damn adorable! I love the mask designs too, I might mess around and find myself wanting to cosplay one of them.

I wonder...if this means they will do another "model" L-card for someone else? Only time will tell.

💙Date Story/Chat Summary!💙

This is shortly after the contest is over and the magazine cover was debuted!

Zagan hadn't had any privacy since then, and with that it was hard for him to see MC. SO Ppyong makes it happen by distracting the fans, and then they meet!

Zagan is honest during the date, though still having "some" trouble expressing himself through words. There are moments where he tells MC that he couldn't wait any longer and he had to see them.

This is what I meant by that desperation and neediness mixing in with the right amount of dominance during intimacy is a perfect balance for someone like him!

Also, this date story is quite perfect for Zagan fans, as he's so fucking romantic he even takes MC to the first place they met in the main story. His expresses his feelings have never changed and it was love at first sight.

Also the term...."I'm watching you..." seems to be referring to the VIP picture they both received and yeah....spank bank material!~

Zagan is truly a cautious and cute noble. From posting boring videos of him grinding food (which honestly could count as asmr material) and not being sure how to get Satan to stop sending out the magazines to other countries in mass amounts without overstepping ranks in power, just so cute.

It also appears that his neck seems to be a private area to him which is why he prefers it covered by his hair. (I will kiss him there >:3)

We also get to see that Zagan easily gets jealous. It's not a aggressive jealously like Satan, but it's more of a "you know other men? 🥺" kind of jealously where you want to pinch his cheeks and tell him he's being cute.

Also...

yeah high-ponytail Zagan is doin' something for me (honestly I think I like Zagan so much because the white long hair reminds me of Sesshomaru and he doesn't speak much either and both of them are hot and idk i'm losing my brainnnnn to the rootttttt)

💙Overall Score: 10/10 💙

For Zagan fans this was a really fluffy and romantic card. The smut was written appropriately, and we got to see more of Zagan's personality come to light.

A major con of this though, is that in order to even get this much of lore for any characters that aren't either PB's favorites or L-grade...is behind a damn paywall. Like I get it? But at the same time I just want more info on my faves to further fuel my headcanons. That's all.

The adore mode movements are good, however his expressions don't seem to match the energy of the VA. This may have been a slight miscommunication somewhere, perhaps the VA was going off of how Zagan's personality should be, therefore personality= check, matching the sexual energy= not so check...

That's more of an observation for me but that may be a major bother for someone who was looking forward to the card's content.

Well today was pretty much the last day to try and get him so my react is late for a recommendation on if one should get it or not, BUT I will say that if you are a Zagan fan and didn't get him this time around, I suspect they'll bring him back for a future banner and you should try and snag him if you can.

"Art is magic!" Here’s a piece I made for a Witch Hat Atelier contest! We had to design our own atelier outfit :) Ended up not winning anything but apparently the results were delayed because Shirahama-sensei wanted to look at all of the entries (instead of just having the editor’s jury choose the ones they’d show her) and it fills me with joy to imagine she looked at my art 🥹 I had so much fun working on this!

Washington’s Ukrainian House has opened an exhibition showcasing the survival meals that kept Ukrainians alive during Holodomor: oak bark soup, potato peel pancakes mixed with grass and flax seeds, and grass bread, according to UkrInform. The Holodomor, a famine that struck Soviet Ukraine from 1932 to 1933, stands as one of the most devastating events in Ukrainian history, resulting in the deaths of millions of Ukrainians. The Soviet regime orchestrated this artificial famine under Joseph Stalin, who implemented extreme grain procurement policies that led to widespread starvation. The policies aimed to suppress Ukrainian nationalism and resistance to Soviet control. In 2006, Ukraine officially recognized the Holodomor as genocide against the Ukrainian people. The designation has been supported by numerous countries, although it remains contested by some, notably Russia. During this period, the Soviet government confiscated grain and other food supplies from Ukrainian peasants while imposing impossibly high quotas for grain production. As a result, millions were left without food or means of survival. Historical estimates of the death toll vary widely, with figures ranging from 3.5 million to as many as 10 million victims. Activists in Washington have recreated some of the meals that Ukrainians ate to survive in order to draw Americans’ attention to the tragic page in Ukraine’s history.

Might have made the reader kind of an airhead, on accident. Hes also got some muscle, but in the “I only have muscles to look good” typa way.

Trying to stretch the writers muscle, since writers block has had me in a violent chokehold for weeks now. Not proof read for this reason, and because i have a major headache.

Jason rarely attended the various galas Bruce, or rather the Wayne name or Wayne enterprises, threw. He had only been dragged along because of a bet he had lost during their last patrol, meaning he had no choice but to go, since none of the others wanted to go to this specific gala. New investors were invited, which meant new money, which meant snobbier than usual rich folk.

It wasn’t hard to see you were new money when you arrived, from the way you carried yourself to the way you dressed. You didn’t stand out much amongst the rest of the new money folk, in expensive brands that cared more about the name than the actual design. But compared to the usual old money that normally attended Wayne galas, you stood out like a sore thumb. The way you were bragging didn’t help either, though, everyone seemed to be bragging, like some kind of measuring contest.

It only became a problem when you started bragging to him. You didn’t even seem to care that he was a Wayne, and definitely much richer than you. He found himself indulging your rambling and peacocking in the beginning, it wasn’t Jasons fault his type were cocky little brats who thought they were untouchable.

The way you fluttered around, chest puffed out, hand on your cocked hip as your lip pouted in a way that made Jason want to bite it. As you grew more tipsy your bragging went from cute to obnoxious, making a heady annoyance start brimming under his skin.

Jason felt what little patience he had left snap when you were so obnoxious as to pull up your Gucci shirt, your lips in such a cocky grin as you showed him the red diamond piercings in your nipples. Seeing the red against your flushed skin made his jaws clench, and before your next brag and boast could sputter out of you, Jasons large hand closed around your bicep and pulled you his way.

You stumbled as Jason lugged you up the many stairs inside the manor, up to the upper floors that were never open during galas, down the hallways and in through a door. There wasn’t much time for you to look around, or comment about the poor looking design, before Jason was upon you like a starved wolf upon a rabbit.

His lips were dry, and this close you could feel the scars carved against them. The noise that left you was borderline pathetic as his tongue slid between your lips, the thick muscle dragging against the roof of your mouth, before Jason truly started devouring you. Grasping uselessly at his suit jacket, you felt so unsure on your feet and dizzy, like you were about to collapse against him.

A sharp gasp tumbled out of you as Jason picked you up, his strong arms flexing like you weighed nothing. It clicked somewhere in the back of your mind that those muscles of his weren’t just for show. Not like you who only worked out and ate well to have the appearance the masses only dreamed of. As you were lost in your thoughts Jason threw you down on the bed, his strong hands grasping at your shirt and jacket, ripping the fabric down the middle, resulting in you whining and crowing in the way only a spoiled rich person could.

The breath that he huffed out was sharp and short, his green eyes flicking up to meet yours, so much intensity in them that you felt your spine straighten. “Ill buy you something better” he grunted as he ripped your pants and boxers, shredding the fugly fabric and throwing the strips off to the side like useless trash.

It was habit at this point that had you whining and complaining, even going as far as to roll onto your front and kicking your legs in a pitiful way, complaining the entire time about him not respecting you or your things, and how he was just some dumb musclehead that didn’t know anything.

Jason didn’t even have the energy to act like he was listening, watching as the muscles of your back flex and pull. There was no true definition for your build, no muscles built from hard work or a rough life, like you were some kinda kendoll with the perfect muscle to fat ratio and specialized trainers. But it did give you an amazing ass, round and perky, the sight of it making Jason drool with the need to taste.

Your next protest was completely cut off as Jasons rough scarred hands grabbed your cheeks, spreading them just far enough for him to bury his mouth between them. A high-pitched squeak that melted into a watery whine rang from you, as Jasons broad wet tongue buried itself in your hole. Burying your face into one of his pillows, you tried to silence the embarrassing noises, eyes prickling with unshed tears as Jason’s hand snuck under your hips to fondle your weeping hardness.

Jason pulled back with a wet slurp, his lips and chin covered in drool as he glanced up over the expanse of your back, seeing the way your head was ducked down and hiding. “I thought you were whining, come on, tell me how much you hate it” he purred, voice deep and hot, making your insides clench as it felt like honey running down your spine.

You lift your face enough to stutter out a few half thought out protests and fussy words, none of them actually making much sense. Behind you Jason smirked, knowing what little brain you had was struggling hard to piece together your usual bravado, which also allowed him to coat his fingers in lube and warm it up enough to not be too uncomfortable.

Once again, your words were cut off as Jasons slicked fingers slid inside you, Jason crawling up enough to rest against your back. He was much bulkier than you were, his scarred torso pressed against your own blemish free back, his weight pressing you deeper into the mattress.

There were a few attempts to insult him, but the way Jason seemed to have expertly found your prostate, and how he kept rubbing against it, you found it very hard to form your lips to muster up any meaningful words. It all felt like too much, everything was too hot, too slick, too stimulating but also not enough, and Jason only seemed to enjoy your reactions more and more.

Through it all Jason made sure to press kisses against your shoulders and neck, the dirtiest but most delicious words mumbled into your ear, as his fingers twisted and turned in ways that had you tearing up. You didn’t even notice how he added more fingers, until Jason finally withdrew them completely and he sat back on his haunches.

It took more brainpower than you had at the moment to peek over your shoulder, your eyes shooting wide at his overly scarred torso, but also the weapon he was rolling a condom down onto. As if sensing your thoughts Jason crawled back on top of you, rubbing himself against you as he reassured you that it would fit, you just had to be good.

The comment about your behavior made you sour, scrunching up your brows and sticking out your lip in a pout. Instead of scolding you, Jason just hooked an arm around your upper torso, turning you enough to kiss you, just to distract you enough to keep you loose and pliant for him to slide inside. The stretch had you whining, but it didn’t hurt anywhere near as much as you thought it would, and soon Jason was seated fully inside.

It had never been Jason’s plan to go easy on you, but he gave you enough time to adjust before he started moving, drawing back before pushing back in with a strong thrust of his hips. Like his fingers Jason seemed way too skilled at finding your prostate, which made your arms give out and sending you crashing back into the mattress as his hips shoved against your own.

His tone was almost taunting as Jason lifted you up by the grip he had around your torso, his voice thick and mocking in a hot and fluid way, reminding you to breathe. It was only then that you realized you had been holding your breath, the air fucked right out of your lungs every time he shoved into you, and his fast and deep pace gave you no time to gasp air back into your lungs.

Tears blurred your vision as you panted and almost drooled, hands clawing and grasping at the sheets. You were sure you must of cum at least once, if not twice, but Jason gave you no time to bask in it or fully register it before the next jab against your prostate had you reeling.

The noises that left you might have been begs and pleas, for him to go harder, faster, for more, but you couldn’t have been sure. At some point Jason even started praising you, making sure to speak right into your ear, telling you just how good you were taking it, and wasn’t it just so much nicer to not be such a brat? A warbly whine left you in response, a full body shudder crashing through you, as you tumbled over the edge for what must have been the third time.

Jason seemed to finally have met his own end, a deep guttural groan ringing from his chest as you bottomed out, his eyes clenched and brows furrowed as he spilled into the rubber around his length. Part of him regretted not just taking you raw, but there was always next time.

You must have fallen asleep or passed out, as you were clean and in a pair of boxers when you next came too. You were even laying against Jason’s chest, one of his strong arms wrapped around your back to keep you pressed against him, ear against his pec, his heartbeat strong and even. A soft kiss was pressed against the top of your head, Jason muttering for you to go back to sleep.

And who were you to protest. Normally you would have started a fuss just because he thought he could order you around, but the way a deep satisfying exhaustion hung over you was enough to keep you quiet and compliant, for now. As you slumped back against him Jason just chuckled slightly, flipping to the next page in the book he was reading, his other hand rubbing up and down your back. Maybe you weren’t so bad as he had thought, Jason didn’t even mind your snooty attitude, since he gave him an excuse to tame the brat right out of you.

Halloween with Leon

Leon intertwined his fingers with yours, offering a gentle squeeze and a bright smile as he guided you through the aisles of the store, his eyes eagerly scanning the array of costumes. The station was hosting a costume contest, and when Leon discovered the news, he rushed home to you, brimming with excitement like you had never seen before. He had the brilliant idea to invite you to join him and create a couples costume together.

With the party only a few hours away, you couldn't help but smile like a fool as you watched Leon eagerly sift through various costumes. He would turn to you, flashing a beaming grin, eagerly awaiting your thoughts on each choice.

At last, the two of you settled on a classic theme: a vampire and his unsuspecting victim. After shopping for costumes, you returned to your shared apartment to prepare for the evening. Leon was quick to get dressed, donning a ruffled blouse complemented by a timeless cape and sleek dress pants. He had reached out for your assistance in piecing together his costume, and now, you found yourself sitting directly across from him, intently focused as you carefully applied contour to his cheeks. As you worked, you couldn't help but admire the charming little imperfections that dotted his features, like the gentle light freckles that adorned his skin and the alluring beauty marks positioned near the corners of his mouth and along his jawline. Being so close to him allowed you to truly appreciate the captivating oceanic shade of his blue eyes, which seemed to brighten even more under the warm touch of sunlight streaming in. You lost yourself in this moment, captivated by the delicate details that made him uniquely beautiful.

As you meticulously added the final details, applying fake blood around his mouth, you became entirely engrossed in your work. In this moment of concentration, you didn't notice Leon's intent gaze on your lips. Before you could react, he leaned in, pressing his lips against yours in a kiss that was both tender and filled with desire. The fake blood you had smeared on the corners of his mouth was now transferring to yours, and you couldn't contain your laughter. This caused Leon to pull back, his expression shifting to one of confusion as he looked at you.

"What?"

"Nothing, it's just I was putting hard work into that blood and now it's smeared," you chuckled, gesturing to the stains on your lips.

"Oh, I'm sorry." He grinned playfully, tilting his head as he closed the distance to capture your lips again.

After you both finished getting ready, you set off for the station, where Leon's excitement was palpable. His grin stretched from ear to ear, and you could almost see him bouncing in his seat. Upon arriving at the station, Leon eagerly assisted you out of the car and led you inside. Everywhere you looked, Halloween decorations were festooned in every corner, and everyone was dressed perfectly for the festive occasion. Leon held your hand as he took you around to meet all of his coworkers, each of them complimenting your costume.

The night unfolded perfectly, with you and Leon savoring drinks and fully immersing yourselves in the evening's ambiance. At one point, Leon approached a coworker, eager to capture a photo of the two of you. He guided you to a designated spot, confidently placing his hand on your lower back as he gently leaned you backward. A playful smile lit up his face as he lowered his lips to your neck, feigning a bite where fake blood had been applied, creating the illusion of drawing your blood. Unable to stifle a giggle at the ticklish gesture, you found it adorable, and the result was the cutest photo of you both—so charming that the station even framed it and hung it up for all to see. And not to your surprise, you won best costume.

The Shipping Showdown is an all new, 5 round contest intended to answer some of the internet's greatest questions, such as "is E/R's dominance really as overwhelming as AO3 statistics would have you believe?", "what is the fandom's all time favourite Les Amis pair the spares combo?", and "what would happen if we tried to Jurassic Park the ship wars of 2013 back into existence 12 years later?". Ignore that last one, maybe.

Q: Who is responsible for all this? Great question! The Les Mis Shipping Showdown is the brainchild of @lonelyroommp3, with invaluable assistance including graphic design, bracket seeding, and wildcard suggestions from @glindalesbian. We are both veterans of the Les Mis fandom, and although it's not been either of our main fandoms for a while we're both still filled with love and nostalgia for both the work itself and the memories the fandom and its myriad shipping messes evoke<3

Q: Woah, wait! How did you decide upon these specific ships? 29 of the ships are - as far as it's possible to accurately sort these things on AO3 - the 29 most popular romantic relationship tags in the Les Misérables (All Media Types) fandom category. This sorting method isn't foolproof, and if we've missed something major we can only apologise! If you bring to light a really notable ship that we've missed, it may get included as part of a special round at a later date if demand is sufficient.

In addition, between the two mods we have chosen three wildcard entries based on such scientifically rigorous selection criteria as "one of us personally shipped this back in the day", "we remember this being really popular but the AO3 stats don't seem to reflect that", and, in one case, "we thought it would be really funny." It is up to you, dear reader, to try and figure out which ship fits in each category.

For the sake of transparency, a couple of ships have been excluded because they have significant overlap with another, more popular ship. For example, both Joly/Bossuet and Joly/Bossuet/Musichetta have AO3 works in the hundreds, but including them both felt a little redundant, so we made the executive decision to just include the more popular combination of the above characters.

Q: Are platonic/familial/queerplatonic relationship tags included? What if I like a combination of characters in a given match up, but only platonically? All my love to the non romantic relationship dynamics in Les Mis - after all, "to love another person is to see the face of God" is a lyric that intentionally does not specify a type of love! However, to keep things streamlined, this poll is specifically about romantic/sexual ships. Whenever you see a match up, assume you are being asked which combination of characters you personally would prefer to see depicted in a romantic relationship and/or sucking and fucking.

Q: Can I submit propaganda? Where should I do this? Yes! You are welcome to add propaganda in the reblogs of any given poll, or send asks or submissions to this blog. However, if your propaganda is in the form of a new fanwork (fic, art, etc) it may be of more use as a steal - see the link above for more details!

Q: Can I share this blog/contest/specific polls outside of Tumblr? If you're sharing on a small scale with a discord server, individual friends without Tumblr accounts, etc, please go ahead! We also think a bit of healthy competition and ship warring is fun from time to time, and the Les Mis Shipping Showdown is not intended to be a totally sanitised arena where we take everything super duper seriously and everybody has to be really really niceys 100% of the time. However, we do ask that good taste and interpersonal respect is considered:

You're free to fight about ships until the cows come home, but please refrain from personal attacks on other users in any arena related to this tournament.

Any hate speech in propaganda, notes of official tournament posts, asks/submissions, or any posts about the tournament brought to the mods' attention will NOT be tolerated and will result in an instant block (+ the offending account being reported if deemed necessary).

We've both seen shipping tournaments play out in other fandoms and know that it's absolutely impossible to avoid botting & vote rigging. However, any cases of the above that are deemed excessive, malicious, or generally against the spirit of the tournament may result in a match up being aborted, repeated, or, in extreme cases, a ship being permanently excluded from the tournament. This also goes for poll stealing - egregiously low effort works or those which seem designed to exploit loopholes in the scoring system to get as many points as possible may be marked down or disqualified. INTERESEX & NONBINARY BEETLE PIN PRE-ORDERS OPEN!

Thank you SO much to everyone for voting on the many many polls last week on which design to choose for the intersex flag beetle. I really wanted the community to have a say on the design, and your guys' excitement and input has seriously helped in the creation of the colourway for the pin.

The polls have been quite split on the designs and plating option- many of which we're going head to head vote wise. We even voted on an option purple chrome plating.

The results are here though! In the end the beetle has gone with design #2 and silver plating. Purple chrome had quite the contest as well, however after receiving a quote on changing the platings, it wouldn't be feasible to make it chrome and keep the beetle at the same price point as it currently is (and I really didn't want to make the different colourways have different prices.)

So!

The intersex beetle comes in silver plating, and the nonbinary beetle comes in black nickel plating.

Both of which are available for pre-order now! Fulfillment will hopefully happen by May if everything goes according to plan!
