Felassan's notes section of this post -
In this episode of the Game Informer show, Game Informer talk some more about their trip to BioWare's studio for the DA:TV cover story, when BioWare showed them hours of DA:TV content while playing it live.
Some notes from this and from what they said:
Wesley LeBlanc wasn't a huge DA fan and he went in with no expectations. The job to go to BW for this just landed on his plate due to other peoples' schedules. After seeing the game, it's probably his most anticipated game for the rest of the year and the one he's most looking forwards to
The game really wowed him and stuck with him, he said he is thrilled about it and is engrossed in the fantasy it's bringing
The visuals and world finally feel like what BioWare has maybe always wanted to make
This is the game where the team said, yeah, we feel fully in command of the Frostbite engine, and it shows
The world is more like Fable-type whimsy than prior DA games. It has a high fantasy feel
BW want new people to play the game. They're very aware that it's been 10 years since the last game and the game does a good job of catching people up
Rook as the PC really has no idea what's going on with Solas and all the other lore-specific stuff that's happening in the game, so they kind of act as the stand-in for newer players or people who have not caught up on the lore
But it's not just a game for newcomers, there is still a lot to chew on in the game for hardcore DA fans. BioWare were saying that they know their community, what it wants and what it's looking for out of these characters
Wesley enjoyed the music, visual design, and voice acting
Nothing that they saw about the game stood out as worrisome to him
Wesley has quite a lot of further stories to add to Game Informer's DA:TV hub
Wesley: "On the topic of the [Dragon Age] fanbase, I just wanna give a shoutout to that community, because, wow, I did not, I knew people would be stoked about this cover, but people are really stoked about this cover. And it’s really funny, the day that we announced it, I got like hundreds of new followers. Anytime, if I tweet about Erdtree or Destiny 2, I get like my normal amount of likes, like, a dozen maybe, y’know, whatever. If I tweet about Dragon Age, it’s like. Today I tweeted, ‘my next feature is coming at 3pm’ and it’s at 1000 likes, it’s so funny, like, this community is like rabid for information, which makes sense if you haven’t gotten a game in 10 years. But yeah, so like, shoutout to y’all, I’m loving you guys reading the articles and telling me what you wanna hear about. So if you have any questions or anything, get at me on Twitter for sure, and I will see what I can cook up with some writing for you. But yeah, shoutout to the BioWare community, y’all crazy.”

Engine Parts: Tyler Owens x Reader
Tumblr media
Tagging: @kmc1989 @hunterthecharmer @heylookwhoitis @shakespeareanwannabe
Companion piece to:
The Mechanic - Tyler faces a problem when Boone brings his mechanic ex girlfriend back into the fold.
Rigs -Tyler reflects on history with you
Ford Mustang - Tyler extends an olive branch.
Tumblr media
The garage is a minefield of memories for Tyler, everything from the song on the sound system to Ford Mustang you’re still working on because it required ‘extensive restoration’. The thing had barely been more than a shell before he’d helped you tow it home. Now all it needs is a little more work on the engine and a new paint job.
Four years is how long you’d estimated it would take to fix up if the two of you worked on it together. Even then you were thinking in the long term, and it turns out he was too.
It’s why he bought that ring when he was passing through Arkansas, the one with three sapphires embedded in the silver band because he was paranoid that any stone that stuck out would get caught when you were wrist deep in engine parts. He’d carried it around for weeks, waiting for the right moment and then it was gone in the blink of an eye, swept away by the harsh winds of the tornado that almost killed you both. He wonders if anyone ever found it, if his misfortune gave way to someone else’s happiness.
When he sees you working there inside the garage, your upper body tucked under the hood, singing along to Zach Bryan’s ‘Sun To Me’  it takes him back to the weekends you spent teaching him how to take apart an engine. His thoughts slip to the evenings sat on the picnic bench out back, sipping beers and staring up at the stars, the nights he spent tangled up in your sheets, whispering sweet nothings against your skin.
Time hasn’t dulled any of those memories, in fact it’s sharpened them because Tyler re-lives every detail of your relationship when he’s alone those motel rooms. It’s you he thinks of when he looks in the mirror and sees those scars that linger on his own skin, the ones from the rodeo and the ones that came after.
“Sophie.” He says softly so he doesn’t startle you. “Can we talk?”
You don’t say anything as you use that rag to clean your hands. Instead you open the old refrigerator tucked alongside the work bench and take out two beers, snapping off their caps with the magnetic bottle opener, before drift past him and head towards the picnic table around the back. Tyler follows a step behind, the scent of orange blossoms and motor oil flooding his senses.
“You wanted to talk.” You say as you take a seat on the bench. “So talk.”
He doesn’t know what to say as he sits down, there are so many thoughts, so many feelings riling up inside of him, he finds it difficult to articulate. He should outline the program, tell you the work he’s been up to, explain why they need you on this project but being back here, it fucks with him. It brings back everything he’s spent the past three years trying to shove into a box inside his head.
“You left.” He says abruptly as you raise the beer to your lips and you pause before you set it back down and meet his gaze.
“And you didn’t follow.” You say, shrugging your shoulders. “I guess there are somethings that just aren’t worth chasing.”
Your words, they eviscerate him. They cut like a knife into his chest, tearing out his insides until all he can feel is the agony spilling out of him.
“Is that what you think?” He asks you, his voice raw with emotion. “That it didn’t mean anything to me, that you didn’t mean anything to me.”
You don’t answer and he understands in that moment that he fucked up back then, that he’s been fucking up ever since.
“Sophie…” He begins, his hand reaching out for yours. “Something awful happened to you, something traumatic and I was responsible for that. I…” He trails off, his eyes stinging as he gropes for the words. “I thought you needed a clean break, away from me, from the Wranglers.”
“I left because I didn’t want to chase anymore.” You tell him as his thumb strokes over the hollow of your wrist. “I needed to come home and recover, I wanted you to come with me, to take some time away from it so we could do that together but…”
“But I needed to face it.” He says quietly. “Because if I hadn’t I would have never gone back.”
“I can’t go back.” You tell him. “If I do this, I can’t chase. I’m happy to work with your crew, maintain the rigs either here or out there but I’m not heading into the storm with you.”
“I wouldn’t expect you to.” He tells you, squeezing your hand lightly. “You’d be support only, tailoring the rigs to what we need, ensuring that they can function under intense conditions. Those are the only things that I’d ask of you, I promise.”
It’s his sincerity that convinces you, the intensity in his eyes as he studies your features. He’s willing to try to make this work and you guess you can too because the goal here, it’s so much bigger than the both of you. The project he’s apart of, it saved lives a couple of months ago, it’ll do it again with the right equipment.
“No cameras.” You say as you pull away, your fingers slipping out from underneath his. “You can take videos of the rigs, the workshop, the alterations that have been done. I’ll even coach Dani or Boone to explain it but I don’t want to be camera. It’s taken long enough for the people in this town to get used to the way I look, I don’t need it to be a topic of conversation on the internet.”
His jaw clenches as his eyes linger on the scar. To him it’s a symbol of your resilience, your strength. You took on Mother Nature and you lived to tell the tale. It’s only now that he realises how self-conscious you are, how much of your confidence has been stripped away.
“Alright.” He promises you as he takes a sip of his beer. “No cameras.”
Love Tyler? Don’t miss any of his stories by joining the taglist here.

Dozen Roses & a Six Pack
Small Town!Cassian x Archeron!Sister Reader
Summary: More heartbreak for small town Cassian because I just can't stop. Based off of the song Dozen Roses & a Six Pack by Cole Swindell.
Warnings: Angst
Word Count: 1,300
_________________________________________
Cassian sighs when he hits the red light on the corner of Main Street.
He stares up at the crimson sign staring at him, taunting him, laughing at him.
He wants to pound his fists against the fucking steering wheel. He doesn’t want to be anywhere near this fucking town right now, not on a Friday night, just getting off of work and waiting for all of the drunks of this shithole town to meander their way down here.
Especially not after last night.
His eyes are gritty with exhaustion, fingers blackened by the oil and dirt of his job, permanently embedded underneath his fingernails. His hair was pulled tightly from his face this morning, but now, after eight hours of hard labor, it’s greasy and messy, falling out from the hair tie barely holding it together. He’s so fucking tired. He hadn’t slept at all last night, stomach twisted with worry and his mind running rampant with thoughts of you.
A pink neon light flickering on in a window to his right catches his attention, ripping his eyes from the stoplight. Flower Shop is written in curly letters, his mine perking up at the idea, calling his name.
When the light turns green he rolls his rusted Bronco through the intersection and pulls it into the ten minute parking spot out front. He cranks the driver’s window up and shuts the engine off, tipping his head back against the seat as the sting returns to his eyes.
This might be his worst idea yet.
It takes a lot more effort than he’d like to lug his body from the car. The streets are quiet for the moment, but they won’t be soon.
He rounds the front of the car, muttering to himself as he makes his way to the door of the shop. “Please don’t be here, please don’t be here—”
The bell jingles as he pulls the door open, stepping inside. The scent of the variety of colorful flowers surrounding him hits him like a truck, thick and heavy in the back of his throat. Pinks, purples, reds, greens…every color he can imagine in different shapes, lengths, and sizes are scattered everywhere. It’s nearly overwhelming. Would be if he didn't know what you liked.
His breath catches in his throat when the young woman working in the shop is called out of the back room by the chime of the bell on the door. His steps falter as he approaches the counter, heart squeezing in his chest in a repeat of the worst pain he’s ever felt in his entire life.
“Hey, Lanie,” he greets, forcing a small smile onto his lips. He wants to turn around and run right out of this fucking shop because looking at Elain Archeron reminds him too much of you.
She offers a gentle smile—one that he doesn’t feel like he deserves—in return. “Hey, Cassian. How are you doing?”
He shrugs a little, swallowing against the tightness of his throat. If he answers it will either be a lie or a beg, so he keeps quiet about that.
Elain offers a knowing look in return. Her big doe eyes are swimming with pity, and Cassian forces his gaze away.
“Can I please have a dozen red, long stemmed roses?” he asks, already reaching for his wallet.
“Sure. I’ll pick out the best ones that we’ve got,” Elain answers, already darting off to the refrigerator where the flowers are kept.
He waits, staring at a spot on the counter, wondering if this is a mistake. He could walk right out that door while Elain is distracted. The bell will alert her of his cowardly departure but he’d already be in his car by then, peeling down the street like hell is at his wheels.
His heart aches in his chest, and he waits.
“How do these look?” She asks when she comes back, holding out the bouquet she’s wrapped and ready to go. There’s a ribbon tied around the stems, holding them all together. It’s your favorite color, too. Of course, Elain would make them look perfect for you, and it’s not the first time she’s helped arrange a bouquet of flowers for you.
“Just perfect,” he answers, though it doesn’t sound as cheerful as he wants. He gives Elain an apologetic look and hands over his card, relieving her of the flowers. “Thank you.”
“My pleasure,” Elain chirps. Always so happy, she is. Why weren’t you ever this content to be in this town? He flinches a little at the thought, biting the inside of his cheek as he returns his credit card to his pocket and signs the receipt. “Hey, Cassian,” she calls when he’s turned away to leave. Cassian looks over his shoulder, at Elain whose eyes have gone hard. He should run, probably. But instead of saying something similar to the way Nesta had chewed him out, she says, “I really think you still have a chance.”
There’s a rock in his throat as he stares her down. The nicest of the four Archeron sisters is rooting for him. Nesta has clearly chosen a side, going to bat for you when she heard the news and ran into Cassian at the grocery store. Feyre’s on the fence about all of it, not wanting to choose a side at all. He’s sure that if Rhysand came back from New York and had faith in him, she would agree.
Cassian nods gratefully at her. He really shouldn’t get his hopes up because he remembers the finality in your tone all too easily from last night. The way you’d had tears running down your face. Your words were shaking but honest and there was no amount of pleading or promises from him that could get you to stay.
The roses burn a hole in the side of his head as he pulls out of the parking spot and back into the street, steadily filling with cars from people getting off work.
Wrapped perfectly, they’re perched in his passenger seat, the seat belt fit snugly around them. That feeling creeps up Cassian’s throat again, the nervous one that has him tapping his fingers against the steering wheel in hopes of releasing the sudden energy his mind’s creating, thinking about you.
He’s almost out of town and then maybe he can relax. He’ll hide up in his apartment, because no one ever comes around that part of town. It’s the perfect solitude.
He stops at the stop sign. On the corner is the local liquor store, sign pinned up in the window reading Coldest Beer in Town. Cassian swallows. He is thirsty, and the beer will only give him the confidence he needs when he inevitably chooses to make that phone call.
Coward, his mind screams, as he pulls into the parking lot. Screaming at him as he picks up a six pack, screaming at him when he pays for it and the bottles clank together when he sets it on his seat and makes his way home.
His mind is still a mess when he sits at his table, staring at the roses and beer, how the roses won’t be enough if you pick up the phone, if you forgive him, and the beer might not be enough, if you don’t.
Finally, Cassian picks up his phone, pressing the only number he has favorited, that little star in the corner reminding him of the relationship that shined so bright before he fucked it all up.
He presses your name, the contact picture updated to one of the most recent ones he can’t stop staring at when he’s alone in his bed at night and all he can think about is you.
Cassian holds his breath as the phone rings.
And rings.
And rings.

My girlfriend is writing a story that, after meeting me and hearing my experiences, she realized was about a (fantastical) disability and she decided to intentionally lean into that. As someone with a (real) disability, I have been a sort of beta reader to make sure that she is using her work to amplify stories rather than talk over them - she's been doing a great job on her own, largely in part because she's been asking me the right questions before writing scenes.
However, yesterday she made a post asking for help with the event that caused this fantastical disability, because the most logical cause is something big and flashy, while she wanted it to be something kinda mundane. In her own words, "most disabilities don't have flashy origin stories, they come from everyday things."
In reading the replies to this post, it came to my attention that people who have inorganic internal parts - pacemakers, replacement hips, etc. - would not survive the flashpoint. This felt wrong to me, but not because of how gruesome the image was, but because the overwhelming majority of people who have such parts are disabled. Everyone affected by the event is disabled thereafter, but a large swath of what I've been referring to her as "pre-disabilities" just wouldn't exist.
Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't necessarily find this to be a bad thing per se. It's background details and the actual story is going to take place almost two decades later. It's worldbuilding that might not even see print, depending on how important that detail is to the story.
My issue is that, as she is writing a story intended to help talk about disability, it feels problematic to kill off a significant portion of pre-disabled characters in the background. I've brought this up to her and she does agree it sucks, the issue she has is that scientifically, it is more realistic.
I bring this question to you guys because the two of us are unsure how exactly to proceed. Do we just ignore internal inorganics entirely and let those with them survive even if it's not realistic? Is it okay to let them die for the story? Is there some middle-ground option that isn't coming to either of us?
(I can provide more detail if need be about the story.)
Hello
Basically, you have to be willing to use some Hail Mary complete and utter random caveat that you add in after the fact to keep a bunch of people from dying.
I don't know exactly how this "flashpoint" works but let's say it deactivates technology. Maybe things like a pacemaker, which is embedded inside of a human, can't be affected because the flashpoint couldn't affect it through the layer of biological matter. Maybe you make this a futuristic where all internal implants are made using biochemical engineering because, I don't know, maybe that gives them a longer life in the human body. Maybe the flashpoint is basically a giant magic put hey, lucky us, internal disability devices aren't made of magnetic metals, or maybe, again, they're made of modified biological tissue.
Basically, you need to completely bs it. It doesn't matter how realistic it is, the flashpoint is fake but disabled readers are real. You can do anything, it's your story, so if you want the disabled people to live, you can create a caveat that would let them live. And no one can say "that wouldn't work" because yeah, it would, because you said it would work in a world that you have complete and utter control of.
Don't be afraid to grasp at straws.
Mod Aaron
Thank you for your ask! Please don’t have people killed for having a specific disability! It’s hard to give more information without knowing what the ‘flashpoint’ is, but you could have the event target metals that aren’t used in humans if that’s the issue. You could also make the event something that wouldn’t target a specific group of people, you don’t have to change the whole story, just the side effects of the event. As mod Aaron said above, it’s your story and anything can go, so please don’t put an unnecessary mass extinction event.
I’d also say killing off a specific minority group for a story, whether or not the story is about that group, is a bad thing. People with implants should be allowed to see themselves in fantastical stories and not be told that they’d just be dead so don’t bother. As you said this happens in the background, this side effect isn’t integral to the story, so why add it? The readers are already suspending disbelief that this event happened in the book, so why not let them suspend disbelief that people with implants won’t be killed in this story?
Have a good day!
Mod Rot

frenrey chainsaw man au or you can take them as just wearing cool suits on another heist probably.
BUT if we ARE talking chainsaw man... i’ve got some thoughts:
* they both work for u.s. devil hunter/research division Black Mesa run by g-man (who is NOT a makima and will not be pulling the same shit as her oh god oh jeez, but he is in charge of black mesa who does messed up science stuff so his hands aren’t clean of everything)
* during the big gun devil attack 13 years ago, gordon got his arm blown off and a fragment of gun devil flesh embedded in there, giving him gun arm. black mesa “recruited” him right after (a.k.a. didn’t really give him a choice). he can’t turn the gun back into a normal arm, so when he doesn’t need it, he has to hide it either in a really long sleeve or some other kind of covering because he can’t go walking around with it out obviously. also joshua is alive!!! i am never killing this child off!!!! post-gun devil attack, gordon lost his original job and had a hard time finding work because of the whole gun arm thing, but he needed funds to support joshie, so that’s why he didn’t really have a choice but to join black mesa.
* benrey’s classified as the Alien/Extraterrestrial Fiend and their powers include temporarily shapeshifting into various crazy amalgamations and singing out colorful balls and being a general annoyance. BUT he’s actually secretly a devil--specifically the Unknown Devil (fear of the unknown). They don’t remember that they’re a super powerful devil, but the black mesa higher ups are aware of his true nature and keep him nerfed. because they aren’t fully sure what will happen if the Unknown Devil uses their full power. which is ironic because the fear of not knowing what benrey’s truly capable of feeds his power more. the only thing black mesa can do is make sure benrey never remembers.
some other not as thought out thoughts on this au that i’m throwing around in my head:
* the rest of the science team are all working for black mesa too obviously
* bubby is the Combustion Fiend because i want him to have the fire powers and also still have a connection to cars (gas-run cars use combustion engines)
* coomer is a human in contract with a devil. still not sure what devil(s) it’ll be. violence devil would’ve been perfect if the violence fiend didn’t already exist. maybe a clone devil and/or a knowledge devil supplemented with his own cybernetic implants.
* tommy is the son of g-man and his contracts are a secret. :)
* sunkist is the Dog Fiend--an experiment by black mesa to see if it was possible for a devil to possess other bodies other than humans. she can be any dog but defaults to golden retriever because that’s what his body was originally. tommy is her favorite.

Close, But so Far.
tws: angst, gore, depictions of panic, and depictions of a seizure.
Spy sat on the cold operation table, arm sliced open by Medic. The air hung heavy-the smell of copper infecting the air, and infiltrating Spys damaged lungs. He took quick breaths, tears forming in the corners of his eyes. He could hear a ringing in his ears as the room fell silent.
Medic was no where to be seen; He'd left Spy alone.
He could feel blood slowly trickle down his arm, and form dried out streaks. he'd hoped that he'd soon either die of blood loss, or that Medic would return to finish the surgery.
------------------
Medic fumbled around in his bag for a few moments, cursing to himself in German. He'd been attempting to fix a fractured piece of machinery inside of Spys arm when he'd realized that he actually had no idea what he was doing.
"Herr Engineer! I need your assistance, bitte!"
the soft sound of boots hitting wood could be heard getting closer, alongside Dell-who had held onto his helmet with his gloved hand.
"yeah?" He asked, panting for breath. his chest heaved heavily, making Medic take a small step back.
"I need your help vith ze surgery," medic started. "zhere is.. anozer issue vith Spy zat I vill need your help for."
upon returning to Medics lab, the two found that it was empty. not a single sign of the Spy anywhere. Archimedes flew down from one of Medics medicine cabinets, and landed on Medic-softly cooing.
"dang nabbit, damnit!" Engineer yelled as he threw his helmet down angrily. he sneered, looking around. "where the HELL could he have gone!? Medic-you. you did remember to turn on the battery on his back, yeah?"
Medic turned over to Dell, mouth slightly agape.
"vell.. I er.." He rubbed the back of his neck with his gloved hand, and looked over to Archimedes. "did you see anyzing my beloved bird?"
Archimedes gave a soft coo, and Medic nodded.
"I see.."
------------------
Spy took slow, sluggish steps; His arm hanging limply on his sides. His chest heaved as he attempted to breathe. saliva had run down his chin, and dampened his balaclava. He'd ran from the lab as soon as he was able to gather his energy. He shakily stood still-vision blurring. he shook his head, and looked around for any sort of exit.
He threw himself against a wall, feeling like he was going to collapse. He tried to slow his breath in an attempt to save his energy.
Spy pushed away from the wall, and took shaky steps towards a nearby window. the sun had barely been visible anymore, leaving a soft orange glow.
it had been a long while since he'd seen it. the warm, comforting light. He'd looked out the window longingly, knowing that-if he managed to pull off this escape-he'd finally be able to see Daniel again.
"oh, danny.." Spy managed to choke out. Tears again started to form at the corners of his eyes and run down his face.
then; In a sudden and swift moment, A sapper had embedded itself onto Spys back-causing sparks to fly off-and making him collapse. His body involuntarily spasmed and jerked as the sapper did its job.
The Red spy lit himself a cigarette, and closed his eyes in disappointment.
------------------
Engineer had never ran so fast in his life. it gave Medic a slight scare.
"SPAH SAPPIN' MAH SPAH!"
He'd tripped over a loose wood panel, and was thrown onto the red spy, who gave him a glare.
"Dell."
Engineer rolled his eyes and threw himself off of Spy.
"betcha missed that Jules, didn't ya?" Dell said in a snarky tone. "now what the hell are yah doin' my Spy?!"
Jules rolled his eyes, and took a long drag from his cigarette. the way Dell had said it made his heart ache in a familiar way he hated. He'd grumbled something, before moving out of Engineers way.
"I simply stopped him, Dell." He paused, taking another drag from his cigarette. "you're welcome."
Engineer growled, and pinched the bridge of his nose angrily.
He looked down at the convulsing Spy in front of him almost blankly-before he turned to Jules.
"why the hell did yah have to go n' do that?! you do realize his systems could be seriously damaged, right?"
Dell kneeled down next to the Spy, and ripped off the sapper. He tossed it away, and lifted up the still twitching Spy. He'd held him over his shoulder, and glared at Jules.
The Spyborg had let out a quiet whimper as a last resort. a final cry for help.
unfortunately it would fall upon deaf ears.

Zachary Aronson emphasizes the significance of following one's passion, regardless of societal constraints. He feels that a passion for one's work is an important gift that outweighs monetary or societal rewards. Embracing and nurturing this passion can lead to personal growth and fulfillment, which are far more important than meeting external expectations. Aronson's message is motivating and inspiring, encouraging people to be loyal to their abilities and interests.
Breaking free from societal standards can be difficult, especially when cultural expectations are strongly embedded. Many people, like Sal in the case study, follow traditional job routes owing to familial or cultural expectations, only to become dissatisfied and disappointed. Sal, for example, selected engineering because it was expected, but he soon realized his true interest lay elsewhere. Sal discovered a fulfilling and motivating career path by pursuing his true interest, proving that following one's passion can lead to personal and professional success.
Women, in particular, suffer substantial societal pressures that can prevent them from pursuing their hobbies. However, business has given many women the freedom and empowerment to break out from traditional roles and pursue their passions. This transformation not only benefits people but also adds to overall social growth by encouraging diversity and creativity in a variety of professions. Women's success stories inspire others to pursue their aspirations despite cultural restraints.
Pursuing one's passion is about confronting and reshaping cultural conventions, not just personal fulfillment. We help create a more inclusive and diverse society by pursuing pathways that match our interests and strengths. This boldness to stray from the usual can be extremely motivating, pushing others to do the same. By motivating and inspiring others, we may shift cultural standards to prioritize authenticity and passion over compliance.

Ok so yeah, 10k Escape Plans. Ruh roh!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I got the angel version off of KikaGoods because I absolutely adore her design and generally I do not fw blind boxes. I don't personally regret buying her buuuut.... They weren't kidding about those quality control issues.
Pros: Her design is just beautiful. I love that her corset actually laces up. Her clothes fit her nicely and look lovely. The sculpting and painting of her hair are gorgeous. All of the extra hands look great, AND there is a set of pegs to hold the S hooks in the wrists while changing clothes, which I greatly appreciate-- I was dreading putting on her arm warmers until I saw those.
Cons: The aforementioned arm warmers prevent you from posing her elbows or wrists because they're so stiff. (Also they're made of that plastic faux leather that is going to degrade and disintegrate and permanently crease in about 20 minutes. The leg warmers, bodice, and corset are the same.)
Tumblr media
Also, the wrists can't be posed anyway, they just flick right back to the default position.
This MIGHT be because the stringing of her arms is WAY too loose, to the point where if you pull one arm, the wrist will just hang limp when you let go. But I haven't been brave enough to restring her and check, and I don't know enough about BJD engineering to say for sure. Either way:
Tumblr media
Hey, that's not how that's supposed to work!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's staining/embedded dirt in her left thigh, and the design on her right leg warmer is misprinted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This isn't a quality control issue and more of just a general design critique but... the wing accessory for her waist just kind of.... Sits there? And it falls off if you breathe too close to it. I'm not really sure what to do with it, despite it theoretically looking really cool.
Overall, I'm conflicted. Part of me thinks "she's only 35 dollars and has so many details and individual pieces, shes probably being made on a shoestring budget as is! It's wrong to complain about flaws." But at the end of the day, other dolls are coming out at equivalent price points and detail that don't have all these issues. And if a company is advertising a product, it's their job to deliver on that product as promised. If they can't do that for the stated price, they need to sort that out internally and either raise the price or simplify the product.
Buyer, unfortunately, beware.

Aftermath (TV Titan post-episode 47, ~2.5k words)
This was a request from an anonymous user. The original prompt was:
As a request for a fic - I'd love to see something from TTV's POV after the episode 47 incident. The feeling of agony (faces have the most pain receptors out of anywhere on the body, and since TV screens are so fragile, I imagine they'd be very susceptible to pain too) both physically and mentally. If we look at Sabre's POV for something to go by as to how TV's teleport, they seem to go through some sort of different dimension, and re-emerge where they intend to go to. Some angst involving TTV making his way to the TV base and feeling hurt and worthless at not being able to disinfect TSpeaker and dumb at falling for the trap and enraged at being so close to killing GT would hit SO hard! If you're up to writing it, maybe there's some fluff evolving the other TV's when he lands in the repair bay. Maybe Polycephalies appears and drops the jokey demeanour for once and comforts TTV (similar to how he comforts Phaeton in Catastrophic Mission Failure).
Request queue
Hosted versions of this fic: skibzone (my site), AO3
Much angst alert!!
---
In the space of just thirty seconds, everything that could have gone wrong had gone horribly wrong -- and the TV Titan felt that it had only itself to blame.
The Titan, blinded, had to navigate the void-pathways by thought alone-
It had been so close.
…Get… towards the Base…
The Titan had lost its flightpack, lost its magnificent raking claws, lost the banks of amps that the Soundkind had gifted it -- and now the Skibidis had used the Sound Titan to smash the TV Titan's screen. It hurt-- both the agony and the humiliation…
The Titan stood in the void, alone, shuddering, as little shards of glass dropped from its screen.
The TV faction were perfectionists enough that they had not believed there was a possibility of their Titan failing - but they were also perfectionists enough to have prepared for that eventuality anyway. The SOP in case of mission failure was for the Titan to port to a specified location just outside TV Base - close enough for aid to be delivered, but avoiding porting any potential skibidi detritus inside the base itself.
…Get towards the Base… Find the path.
The Titan stood unsteadily, almost delirious with pain and regret and anger and guilt and self-loathing and confusion, clutching its head in its hands against the agony radiating from the blade embedded in its screen. The black fog coiled inside its teleport circuit thrummed as the Titan tried to concentrate through the pain and find the way home. Luckily for the Titan, its sheer size allowed it to rip its way through the void-pathways, the subtle network forced aside and made to conform to the Titan's will, like vegetation trampled by elephants.
Through the pain, the Titan felt a familiar weight on its shoulder and a touch on the side of its head.
"Titan, follow your Imperator. I will guide us to the hangar. Can you port again? I will steer us," said the Imperator from where they had just teleported upon the Titan's shoulder.
The Titan managed to stop its wordless static scream enough to choke out an affirmative response. The Imperator initiated the short teleport into the hangar, and both units stepped sideways from reality into the void-plane. The Titan gratefully ceded control to the Imperator, concentrating only on staying on the Imperator's pathway and on sitting itself down so it could manifest inside the hangar. The Imperator steered the pair perfectly, the Titan porting to exactly the point in its hangar where its crew of engineers had the greatest range of access.
The Imperator stroked the side of the Titan's head comfortingly. "We're here, you're safe. My dear Titan, you did well, following the void-pathway just now. Rest now, you're in good hands."
"My Imperator… I've failed you. I had one job…"
"You can have 5 more seconds, then pack that shit in," said the Imperator, to which the Titan responded with a confused chirp of static. "This is a disappointing outcome and a terrible setback, that much is true," continued the Imperator. "But this self-flagellation serves no-one. Serve your Imperator by concentrating utmost effort on your recovery."
"…I will obey, my Imperator," replied the Titan.
"I know you will," the Imperator said, stroking the side of the Titan's head. The Imperator was disappointed. The Titan should have been able to finish the job. But the Imperator would squash it down and hide it from their dear Titan - there was nothing the Imperator could say that the Titan would not already have said to itself. Punishing the poor Titan would only have been heaping extra evil onto its suffering.
The Imperator teleported to the Engineer Prime. "Sixty-Eight. Am I needed here still?"
"No, Imperator," said Sixteen-Sixty-Eight, the Engineer Prime. There was no rudeness in their response, only the matter-of-fact pragmatism that characterised the TV faction. The Imperator needed to make battle plans, and the Engineer needed to repair the Titan, and they would best assist each other by getting out of each other's way.
"Imperator, don't leave me," said the Titan. "Please… stay with me."
The Imperator teleported back to the Titan's shoulder, resting their hand on the side of the Titan's head and rubbing it soothingly. "I don't want to leave you, dear Titan," said the Imperator, "But I have to leave you. I urgently need to speak with the other Imperators. I am sorry." The Imperator pressed themself to the side of the Titan's head, hugging the huge flat surface as best they could. The Titan trembled under the Imperator's touch. "The Alliance is not finished yet. One Titan remains. Still in recovery, but nearer than you to being able to re-enter the field. …I must depart now, dear one. I will return." The Imperator ended the hug and gave the Titan's head some final strokes. "Sixty-Eight will look after you, I know they will. Be good for your Imperator, my dear Titan."
"I obey my Imperator," said the Titan, and the Imperator teleported away. "Sixty-Eight… I need you," said the Titan. "I need you and I can't see you."
Sixty-Eight teleported to where the Imperator had just been, and laid a hand on the side of the Titan's head. Techfolk didn't need to be able to see to locate each other - they all could perceive each other's yes-I-live signals. Sixty-Eight guessed that the Titan was in too much pain to be able to mentally untangle the signals, and in distress about losing its vision. "I'm right here, Titan," said Sixty-Eight.
"Thank you," said the Titan. "Don't leave me."
Sixty-Eight felt crushed. "I'm so sorry," said Sixty-Eight. "I need to get to work right away. You'll have to wait for me just a little while longer-"
Sixty-Eight was interrupted by the sudden arrival of their deputy Forty-Two-Twelve, the Vice-Engineer Prime. "I've got this," said Twelve, teleporting next to the Engineer Prime. Even now, the engineers were prepping the ceiling cranes on Twelve's transmitted orders. Twelve transmitted privately to Sixty-Eight: "I'll get the Titan fixed. Stay up here and keep the Titan as calm as you can."
"Thank you," transmitted Sixty-Eight in reply. Twelve nodded to confirm their understanding, and teleported away. Sixty-Eight felt immense gratitude for Twelve's actions, and was glad to have such a reliable deputy and team that they could hand over command without worry. They would thank Twelve properly later. "I'm here," said Sixty-Eight again, rubbing the side of the Titan's head comfortingly.
"It hurts, Sixty-Eight," said the Titan. "It hurts so much."
Sixty-Eight felt crumpled with sorrow. The manipulated Sound Titan had plunged a blade right into the TV Titan's screen, compromising the vacuum of the glass CRT envelope. It was only the Titan's implosion band that prevented the screen from shattering altogether.
The Titan and Sixty-Eight perceived Twelve's transmitted commands to all engineers present - both the Titan's permanent crew, and as many floating engineers as the faction could spare. Twelve ordered them to prioritise removing the blade - at its depth, the tip was buried in the Titan's deflection plates and causing constant pain.
"This is going to hurt so much," said the Titan pitifully, placing its hands on a couple of nearby gantries (making a couple of engineers teleport swiftly away) and gripping them to steel itself. Pulling the blade out would relieve the pressure on the deflection plates, but it was also probably the main thing keeping the giant pane of screen glass together. Switching the Titan off altogether was always an option, but no-one, Titan included, wanted to do that. The Titans weren't meant to be cold-booted - their continued operation was dependent on interconnected systems that relied on each other to stay online.
"I'm right here," Sixty-Eight said again, trying to soothe the Titan.
"You'll look after me, won't you, Sixty-Eight?" asked the Titan.
"Of course," said Sixty-Eight. They felt so helpless - they wished they could do more to take their dear Titan's pain away.
"You always did," said the Titan. "You were there… you brought me into existence, and you looked after me… You've always made me feel so well looked-after." (Sixty-Eight stroked the Titan's head as it spoke.) "I've let you down, my dear engineer," continued the Titan. "I've let the faction down."
"You haven't!" said Engineer Sixty-Eight. "You haven't. You came back to us. You're still with us… you didn't fail. …And you did damage the Skibidi leader." Like the Imperator, Sixty-Eight couldn't bring themself to be angry with the Titan for its carelessness in what it knew to be a trap. At least the faction still had a Titan, which was more than could be said for the Soundkind.
"I did, didn't I," said the Titan quietly. "That I did."
A trio of ceiling cranes moved into place on trackways, as the TV engineers prepared to extricate the knife. Engineers teleported into place on footholds on the crane hooks and shackles, and began chaining them to the giant knife handle.
"Don't get rid of the knife…" said the Titan as the engineers worked. "Keep it somewhere for me… I'll use it… I'll do to them what they made Titan Soundkind do to me." The Titan trembled, clenching its fists, and said quietly, as if to itself, "I'll avenge you, Comrade Soundkind." The cranes strained as they pulled out the knife tip from the deflector plates, then the knife suddenly was free and surged forth out of the Titan's screen. The Titan emitted a shuddering buzzing sound of protest.
"How does it feel?" asked Sixty-Eight, continuing to stroke and rub the side of the Titan's head. "You're being so brave about this, dear Titan."
"Oh, it feels bad…" replied the Titan. "My deflectors feel slightly better for it." The Titan gripped a gantry hard enough to warp the railing, as the cracks in its screen spiderwebbed outwards with a horrid crunching sound.
The Titan heard the familiar sound of a teleport right below its head, then was aware of a weight bearing down on its arm - and the sudden arrival of a nearby yes-I-live signal.
"Polycephaly's here for you," said the owner of the signal.
The Titan clung to Polycephaly for comfort, letting go of the gantries so it could clutch Polycephaly to its chest above its core.
Polycephaly re-arranged themself slightly to accommodate the Titan's grip, and hugged themself to the Titan's arm. "I'm here," Polycephaly repeated. "…I wish I could do more for you."
The Titan firmly stroked Polycephaly's back. Polycephaly was surprised by this treatment - "You're the one who most needs comforting right now, not me," they thought. The Titan repeated the gesture, catching its fingertips on Polycephaly's sub-screens. As the Titan continued, Polycephaly realised the Titan was trying to stroke the screens away and pull out Polycephaly's stems to their full length. "Anything for you, Titan," thought Polycephaly, and obligingly protracted their stems.
The Titan wrapped its fingers around Polycephaly's stems and pulled at them gently, dragging its fingers along the stems' length. Polycephaly uttered a surprised chirp of static, not sure what the Titan was trying to achieve, and consciously relaxed their stems as much as possible to let the Titan do whatever it was trying to do. The Titan continued stroking Polycephaly's stems, wrapping them around its fingers, and pulling them gently, apparently using them as a stress-reliever. "…I'll let you do that if you need to," thought Polycephaly. "Anything for you."
"I don't know where I'd be without you, Polycephaly," said the Titan quietly. "You're the only one in this faction who knows what I've been through."
Polycephaly wasn't sure what to make of that statement. They hadn't suffered any injury nearly this bad. Then it dawned on Polycephaly: "Being upgraded, you mean?"
"Yes," said the Titan. "You took the biggest risk of us all. You did what no TV did before." The Titan gathered Polycephaly in its arms as much as it could.
"Thank you, Polycephaly," transmitted Sixty-Eight privately to the large unit. "Please would you continue letting the Titan hold you? Your presence is calming it a little."
"Of course," transmitted Polycephaly.
The Titan basked in the presence of Sixty-Eight and Polycephaly, the two units it felt closest to. If it paid a little attention, it could distinguish snippets of transmission going back and forth in the hangar between Engineer Twelve and all their colleagues. The Titan was still in pain and still felt like a failure, but it took courage from how quickly yet calmly its engineers were working. "The most powerful and perfect of all Titans must have the best engineering team," thought the Titan.
"Titan," transmitted Engineer Twelve, the Vice-Engineer Prime. They kept their transmission public, so that Engineer Sixty-Eight would receive it too. "We have to remove all the remnants of your broken screen. We will probably have to resort to a controlled implosion - I am sorry. We will eventually need to remove the entire CRT and build you a replacement. Until then, we will need to bolt a covering over your screen aperture to protect the insides of your head." Twelve directed some more engineers and cranes into place to begin the task.
The Titan felt a great sadness at the realisation it would be sightless until its new CRT could be built and fitted. It tried to comfort itself with the knowledge that it was in the safest and cosiest place it could possibly be - its hangar - surrounded by the units it trusted the most.
"I'm sorry, my dear Titan," continued Engineer Twelve. "I wish there was an easier way."
"I'm sorry," transmitted the Titan in reply. "I know it's an arduous task to align that many magnets." The huge magnets of the Titan's CRT would hurt the engineers' much smaller ones - the installation process would require the engineers to spend at least as much time de-gaussing as working.
"But you're worth it, Titan," transmitted Twelve. (Engineer Sixty-Eight chirped in agreement with their deputy's words and rubbed the side of the Titan's head some more.)
"Don't tell the Titan yet," transmitted Sixty-Eight privately to Twelve, "But we should go ahead and start building the upgrades instead of building copies of the previous parts. I think the Titan will appreciate that but I don't want to get its hopes up just yet."
"Agreed on all counts," transmitted Twelve. "When I can, I'll begin delegating upgrade tasks. …When our Titan returns to the field, our enemies won't even recognise it."
Elsewhere in TV Base, the TV Imperator conferenced with the Imperators of the Camera and Soundkind factions.
"Operation Vengeance has failed," said the TV Imperator.
The Soundkind Imperator slumped in devastation. They surely already knew, from the fact that their Titan had not sent any message to their base, but must have been holding onto hope until the TV Imperator confirmed the worst.
The TV Imperator continued: "Target Alpha took damage, but still lives. Our Titan is now incapacitated, and the Sound Titan is still under enemy control. Imperator Camera… your Titan must not fail."
