💿: Hey, U-Go-Girl⋆.ೃ࿔* 🎀⭐️
 ?? . . . documenting files … 𓈒 ݁ ₊ > 💿
Tumblr media
₊˚💿✩; Hey Dolls 2Day we’re gonna be talking about building self confidence/ self esteem and embracing your natural self!! this post is heavily inspired by U-Go-Girl By Lee Hyori Bc honestly that song literally screams CONFIDENCE!! {Long Post Ahead}
DISCLAIMER !! some of this stuff might mo resonate with some folk because of certain circumstances like social anxiety i know bc i literally have social anxiety + agoraphobia and these are also some things ive done to cope with anxiety and stuff like that so don’t even!
⋆🎀˚⊹ PILE 1 ;
Internal > Looking the Part > Baby Steps > Take Up Space > affirmations > body language > Embarrassment
⋆👖˚⊹ PILE 2 ;
External > Cutting People off > Opinions > being desperate > boundaries > compete with your self
₊˚🌺✩ ₊˚⭐️⊹♡ ˚ ༘ ೀ⋆。˚
Tumblr media
₊˚🪼✩ 1; Looking The Part !! ୭₊˚
When you Look good you feel good!! it doesn’t matter what you look like when you’re put together + confident you’re automatically attractive!! 🎀 4 instants everyday even on lazy days always make sure you’re
Showered
Hair Put together
a cute outfit that YOU like
clean nails
fresh breathe
clean skin
moisturized + smelling AMAZING!!
Hot Tips ! ;
when it comes to Hair + Skincare + Oral Hygiene & Outfit personally i recommend Hair > Oral Hygiene > Outfit because when it comes to hair care certain products in your hair product can also have an affect on your skin and when brushing your teeth + mouth wash and scrubbing toothpaste get all over your mouth and water its messy!
₊˚📟✩ 2 ; Baby Steps !! ୭₊˚
For all my folks out there who are shy/have social anxiety/introverted or just need to get out more baby steps is the way to do it i learned this from the therapist so basically i rank things from least to most anxiety inducing (?) like sitting outside or something and i do the smallest task for about how ever long i possibly can and i keep doing it till i progress and start doing harder things !!
₊˚ 🍭✩3 ; Take up Too much Space !! ୭₊˚ (The wizard Liz Inspired)
Never dim your light to make others comfortable when it comes to confidence and being yourself you gotta be unapologetic about it!! you focus should never be on other people and how they perceive you , that literally none of your business and that’s literally a waste of time and draining your own happiness So where that dress, style your hair this way, showcase your true self and fuck how other people feel that a THEM Problem not Yours!!
₊˚ 💬✩4 ; Affirmations !! ୭₊˚
Affirmations Baby!!! Having daily affirmations is a MUST!! not only boost your self esteem and confidence but they will also bring you out of the mindset that your “below the bar” & help you validate yourself without needing outside opinions!!
What i like 2 do it is keep set of daily affirmations i repeat when i wake up & throughout the day and i like to put them all around my space like put sticky notes of mirrors, keep pinterest boards of affirmations, repeat then while getting ready, making a self concept playlist full of songs that make me feel my best etc.!! (P.S Affirmations tapes are TOP TIER)
. . . DYK?
The kinds of media you consumer can sometimes affect your over all mood, self image & mentality so be mindful of the media you consume when it comes to any form of media !!
₊˚ 🍋‍🟩✩5 ; Body Language!! ୭₊˚
SUPER IMPORTANT!! wether you’re in an active conversation or just walking down the street body language will play a huge role in not only how you feel but will also help you be confident & have people be more attracted to your energy
so what were gonna do is swap all of the awkward body language and swap them out!
Tense Shoulders > Drop & relax your shoulders and put them back
Looking down when walking > Hold your head up head
Slouching > Stop slouching and Keep your make straight
When you wave don’t shake your palm > use your 3 fingers in the middle to wave in an half way down and up motion
Sit in the Duchess Pose basically it putting both of your legs together and slant them 2 the right diagonally !!
STRUT YOUR STUFF!! I can’t stress this enough a good runway strut is always on your side i promise you this!! you gotta act like your a famous super model like naomi, shalom, yasmeen, linda etc. you gotta act like your opening for a runway or something and just be FABULOUS!!
₊˚ 🏩 ✩6 ; Embarrassment !! ୭₊˚
I Fully believe embarrassment is a SOCIAL CONSTRUCT like people who are consider “embarrassing” are literally just being themselves and when people see a person being themself they can’t handle and feel this dire urge to “humble” them and
An example of this comes from one of my favorite movies Legally Blonde!! when elle first stepped foot on Harvard campus people were automatically on her tail for just being herself and what did she do?? NOTHING. and thats exactly what you gotta do view their opinion as INVALID and keep doing you!
“Out of Sight Out of Mind”
Hey! You made it to pile 2 Lucky You!
?? . . . loading files … 𓈒 ݁ ₊ > 💿
⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 Cutting People Off .𖥔˚ 🐬
SPOILER ALERT!! The people you surround yourself with can definitely play a role in how you perceive yourself, your individual opinions, how you think & behavioral action due to peer pressure, sometimes toxic people can seep into your social circle and you might no even notice it
Signs You need to cut someone off!
- never supporting you
- repeating the same toxic behavior
- never being happy for you
- copying everything you do
- never fully apologizing
- trying to bring you down for literally anything
- talking behind your back
- trying to leave you out
- is hypocritical towards you
- is in competition with you
⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 Opinions! .𖥔˚ 👙
Again like i said people opinions on you is not a you problem its a them problem especially if it’s a negative opinion it doesn’t matter you don’t need to explain yourself to anyone especially not someone who won’t even take the time to know you before making up stupid assumptions! and you sure al hell don’t need to change to fit in with anyone , you were meant to stand put and thats okay
“No Problem i don’t care You’re you I’m me” - Jang Wonyoung
⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 Being Desperate.𖥔˚ 🪸
OH GIRL!! Being desperate is embarrassing for you especially if it’s over someone you have romantic interest in unt unt that simply won’t fly with me! if they’re ghosting you, being inconsistent, telling you one thing but acting another way etc. don’t be desperate for someone like that you deserve someone better! people like this probably don’t care and its silly of you to be desperate for their attention & you’re far too special for that
⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 Boundaries .𖥔˚ 🛍️
Always have boundaries and never let anyone over step them, if you set a boundaries in a friendship and they keep crossing that boundaries they don’t care about your boundaries don’t let someone continue to disrespect you & your boundaries
HOT TIP . . .
Don’t laugh at jokes that are at your expense
If someone is trying to embarrass you be upfront with them and tell them how you feel
⋆.˚ ᡣ𐭩 Compete with yourself .𖥔˚ 🌤️
See yourself as your only competition always try to out do yourself not matter what in any category even if its doing something productive one day to have a better day than you did yesterday i adapt this mindset with my blog and my self improvement i need to out do myself all the time im the only person i need to compete with!!

Bitches, this isn't strictly finance related, but I have to go on my first business trip at the end of the month and HELP. I've never done a work trip before, any tips?
DON'T 👏 GET 👏 DRUNK 👏
I know that seems like a weird place to start my advice. But I have literally seen people fired, or lose clients over getting too shitfaced at the hotel bar and making a fool of themselves. So if you're going to drink on your business trip, either with coworkers or clients... go easy on the sauce.
Also: remember that a business trip is not a vacation. So make sure you're in work-mode 100% of the time. Don't say or do anything in the presence of others that you wouldn't do in your workplace.
Pack the following:
An extra set of work clothes in case of coffee spills
Bandaids or moleskin patches if your work shoes are high heels or otherwise blister-causing.
Gym clothes and pajamas. Last thing you want is to end your work day and have to lounge around in... a suit.
Your normal shampoo and other products, in travel sizes. I'm allergic to certain shampoos that hotels stock, and let me tell you it is NOT FUN to show up to a big work meeting covered in hives.
SNACKS ON SNACKS. It's hard to seem professional with your tummy growling.
Make sure you have everything work-related you need on your phone if you're traveling without your work computer. And if you're flying, pack all essentials INCLUDING A PROFESSIONAL OUTFIT in your carryon bag.
Whew, that was more than I thought I had to say. Maybe we'll cover this on the podcast this season. But for now, here's some more advice:
What To Wear (and What Not to Wear) To a Job Interview
Season 1, Episode 2: “How Should I Behave on My First Day at Work?”

I don't know if you open, but I love. No. I adore your house of mouse au, I've seen most of it but I wonder, what if the ob gang see Yuu and the great seven chatting then Yuu saw them, pull them and say 'this is the guy I told you back then', now I probably already read one of ask that contain this, but I wanna see only overblot's first reaction that probably quite fascinating
:0 alright!
It's already been a few months since Yuu has introduced their friends to the House of Mouse. Honestly, they were fine with that, until there was a planned Dorm Leader meeting. Sadly, their usual spot was taken by the teachers for another meeting, but hey, the House of Mouse is always there! So Yuu invites them for a meeting.
Thankfully, Mickey was glad to give Yuu time off ("I wouldn't want you to be focused on work all the time! It's important to keep your social life back at home healthy. Enjoy the show! :)")
So, they wait for the other Dorm Leaders before they take them to their mirror upstairs.
Kalim: Oh! Are we having a sleepover!?
Yuu: No, we're going to my workplace. They're giving me time off so we can have a meeting and enjoy their performances!
Riddle: Well, as long as it doesn't distract us from the meeting...Why are we even in your room to begin with? Yuu: 'Cause we can't get in without using my mirror, duh. *Pushes Idia into the mirror*
Idia: WHY ME-
They go through the mirror, and the others are pretty impressed with Yuu's personal dressing room.
Yuu: Yeah, my boss is the best :). Oh, btw, don't be surprised to see the Great Seven.
Azul: Hahaha, WHAT?
As they walk out, Minnie personally greets them and leads them to a table. Goofy comes by a minute later and takes all of their orders. As they wait for their orders to come, Yuu gauges everyone's reactions.
Azul is, unsurprisingly, writing things down, muttering about "new ideas for Mostro Lounge. Kalim is looking around the whole dining room, his eyes sparkling. Riddle and Vil are talking quietly, commenting on the decor. Idia was grossed in his video game he brought, glancing at anyone who passed by the table. Leona was messing with the center piece, looking absolutely bored. And Malleus just looked happy to be there.
The meeting went well, actually. With a lively atmosphere, the Dorm Leaders were able to have some productive conversations. Yuu was especially happy to be included in future events run by the Dorms. There were a few interruptions, though.
Of course, it was pure coincidence that the Great Seven were also having a get together. But the oddest thing was that THEY WERE AT THE TABLE NEXT TO THEM??? If that isn't planned idk what is. Yuu introduced the gang to one another.
Riddle is all red in the face, probably very embarrassed to meet the Queen of Hearts. He certainly didn't expect to meet her in person! Though she's pretty impressed by him. He knows all 810 rules by heart. What a good Dorm Leader, remembering all the ruels and making sure the rest remember them!
Leona and Scar didn't talk to each other at first, but when the topic of siblings came around, YOU BET THAT THEY WERE TALKING SHIT. Honestly the funniest thing for them to realize this and begin gossiping about the dumbest things people have done in front of them. It's very sweet to watch them vent out their frustrations to each other.
Ursula talking with Azul and giving him tips on how to blackmail convice people to sign his contracts. Maybe even answer his questions about herself or giving him ideas for his business. A magic item made by the Sea Witch herself? For a price, of course~
Honestly, I can only see Jafar tolerate Kalim at best. He sees Kalim as a foolish kid. Though maybe Jafar slightly warms up to him??? Yuu is probably the one to mediate between the two, honestly.
VIL AND QUEEN GOSSIPING ABOUT BEAUTY TIPS. VIL WOULD TOTALLY TELL HER ABOUT MODERN BEAUTY TIPS. They would be the mean girls of the group tbh. I think Queen would also give tips on being a better leader, because despite her vanity, she was probably a good ruler if the kingdom didn't go to hell in the movie.
Idia would 100% be dying inside at Hades' extrovertness. Hades would be very excited to learn more about his dorm honestly. (Wait no Hades would joke about them being related, and Idia would sink into his seat further). The conversation was awkward until Hades asked about the video game Idia brought. Idia would not SHUT UP ABOUT IT-
Malleus and Maleficent would have a lovely chat over teas and biscuts that they ordered. Maleficent would 100% give Malleus any and all advice she had gained over the years. (Maybe advise Malleus to snag Yuu before anyone else got them). They would totally have conversations about the use of gargoyles and how spot a wild one.
It's getting late at night, and the meeting was over, but Yuu convinced everyone to stay. The show began, and it was one of the best Yuu's seen in awhile (to be fair, most of the shows were sabotaged by Pete, which they helped stop).
The night ended with a bang, and all the Dorm Leaders agreed to hold another meeting at the House of Mouse some time in the future.

Hi Atty! First, thank you for being a source of spooky, otherworldly joy in the world and on tumblr. Secondly, a while back (possibly quite a while back) you shared a link to some starting-a-small-business resources that (I think) you made. It was possibly a google doc? I had the link open in a tab for a very long time, but now that I’m about to finally start starting my own colorful business, I seem to have lost that particular tab, and tumblr’s search function is…well…it’s tumblr’s search function, and therefore less than functional. Am I correct in that recollection and/or what advice do you have for someone who has never done anything like this? I’m excited, but also a bit worried!
I cannot locate the document either, I'm afraid. I've been in multiple arguments discussions arguments (is correct) over the last several months as I've ventured into "Hey I have thoughts, maybe they are useful!" so I might have deleted it.
Tumblr media
I can sum some basics up
Keep your costs low, especially as you start out. You have to build an audience and this takes time (that's the bad news). Once you build an audience your audience helps you build a larger audience (that's the good news). The tipping points of scale are invisible and you won't know you've reached them until you're past. Just keep going.
If you aren't making a profit consistently, this is a hobby. There is no moral difference between a hobby and a business. It boils down to "am I making money on this, or am I spending money on this."
If running the thing makes you more You than not running it, keep going, even if it costs you money -- but, doubly so here, keep the costs to an enjoyable limit.
The point I want to express is a lot of people start a weird business, it costs them a small fortune because they attempt to spend their way to success, it collapses under the weight of said costs, and they feel a failure.
Unless money is no object (because of financial resources external to the business or you are creating something that does not have a production cost), failure fundamentally does not exist.
Making money is hard. The more you make, the harder it is to make more, so keep all of this in mind when you're designing your labor systems. "I can put a card in an envelope" is easy. "I can put 100 cards in 100 envelopes" is more than 100x harder.
This is not to dissuade you, it is to prepare a bed of moss for when the honeymoon cloud ends.
Tumblr media
Focus, tightly, why you're doing this.
If you want more money, a second job is going to give you more for less hours of work. If you want the world to be different, this is a great way to do it.
If you want both -- if you want this to be a solid source (if not your main source) of income -- that's great. I cannot stress this enough: prepare for the long haul. Decades -- not years, decades. I started in the mid 90s. I got successful in the mid 2010s.
The best news is you don't have to make that decision permanently, you can decide every day to do what you want, it's your shop.
When you get a lucky break and you think "did I deserve this lucky break" put that thought to bed. It doesn't matter.
When you get an unlucky break and you think "should I have done something different to prevent this" put that thought to bed. It doesn't matter.
Tumblr media
Your main competition is going to be people you post your things without crediting you -- 99/100 times without malice. Your competition is not the people who make similar things as you.
Once you reach a threshold, "giant corporations who steal from you" can be added to that list.
The point: worrying about another independent creator's work is not useful energy. Unless they are directly stealing from you, just keep going.
Tumblr media
This is a difficult set of tasks. Keep going. Every problem you have will have an industry built to solve it -- not a singular vendor, an entire industry. Find who you are comfortable with and can afford.
When you want to do ABC and you can't afford it, reduce scope. If you can't afford Extra Fancy Packaging then use something cheaper. If you can't afford Extra Fancy Project Production then reduce the fanciness.
If it drives up the retail price out of what your customers will pay, if it takes too long to assemble and put into an envelope to ship, if it's too complicated to handle efficiently -- reduce scope.
Listen to me very carefully. Get uncomfortably close to ensure you understand this.
This is not cheating.
This is business. This is how business works. You continuously measure "what is possible vs. what is sale-able vs. what is profitable." and then go with the center of this diagram.
If you don't want to reduce scope, if you want costs-be-damned-I-want-what-I-want: treat this as a hobby. That's fine. See above points.
I cannot begin to explain how many books I have built that were Massively God Damn Complicated Oh God Why WHY and the why was "so it exists in the world." That has been my hobby-stuff.
I cannot begin to explain how many books I have built that were "hm, I shall streamline this, I shall enjoy it, my audience will enjoy it." This is business-stuff.
Sometimes I'll take a business-stuff thing and make a single special edition with water color or gold leaf or a special box etc. as a gift or just to keep. That's a blend. Acceptable.
Tumblr media
Do not work for exposure.
Do not work for a large company that says "we'll give you so many business contacts if you just give us one for free."
Do not give free stuff to a social media influencer for a shout out on their channel.
The validity of these strategies is irrelevant until you have enough cash on hand and experience and an audience big enough to build an advertising campaign. If you cannot afford an advertising campaign, then you're in the realm of "reduce scope."
Tumblr media
Your logo set in Arial in a single color with default font settings is going to last until you can comfortably say "I want more" and then build more or hire someone to build more.
Your website in a free Shopify or Big Cartel (etc) theme) is going to last you until you can comfortably say "I want more" and then build more or hire someone to build more or buy a template.
Tumblr media
Last point.
Your brand is "I make X, it is of Y quality, it is available at Z-location" is 99% of branding.
You get to do this. You are doing this on purpose. You are doing this for a reason.
For a very long time, your profit levels will be less than the interest a high yield interest savings account would offer you for your investment cash. That is to say you could be making more money with 0 effort than you are with A Significant Amount of Effort.
I am talking about money a lot because it is the connection that links all businesses together.
This is your shop. Own it. Keep in mind, "This is my shop. I run it how i want."
If you are running out of resources, reduce scope. If it's not fun, reduce it to a hobby. If you're scared, reduce consequences of things not working out quickly. If people laugh or deride your work, block them.
Tumblr media
I love business. I love the weird, complicated problems it brings. It gives me a focus. I love coming to the office and bothering my best friend with my intense nonsense that somehow puts food on tables and roofs over heads.
My life would be so much more straight forward if I just made art and either put it into the world or held onto it in private. I would be making so much more art in if I went down this path.
But running a shop, running a business, makes me more me. The shop and the art are not two halves of a singular piece, they wound together on a molecular level.
As long as that exists in my core, I'll be making a business. If it ever does not, I'll make it a hobby.
Don't measure penalties or lost opportunities.
Measure wins, big and small, of things that went well because you're smart and capable, or your lucky and smart, or your lucky and capable, or you royally fucked up but it worked out anyway, or you learned a lesson because of a past failure, etc.
This isn't a competition. It's a thing that makes you You more You than if you weren't doing it, so you are, to the best of your ability + the limit of your desire.

Desert Panda Fiber Arts Warning
Le sigh.  Another week, another warning about a fiber arts business that’s doing naughty, naughty things.  She hasn’t threatened to shoot anyone directly yet, but she’s tip toeing around that on a technicality.
Desert Panda Fiber Arts is a small dyer that does some gorgeous colorways.  She got into a rough spot earlier this year where there were some family emergencies and she fell behind on shipping product.
That’s not the issue.  It happens.  Especially over the past few years.
No, the issue is that a customer, back in May, asked about how long a person should wait for a company to ship yarn.  She asked this on an open fiber arts forum (WAFA on FB), and Christin, the owner of Desert Panda, lost her absolute shit on her.  Like flipping tables and screaming obscenities at her.
Thing is, the person had never specified Desert Panda, and had asked a question that, quite frankly, gets asked a lot in the fiber arts community.  I’ve seen it asked more than a dozen times this year alone, because some dyers do run behind and don’t communicate well with their customers.  It’s an issue, but not usually a bad one.
Well, Christin decided that flipping out like a twat wasn’t enough.  She proceeded to doxx the customer in multiple fiber arts FB groups.  Full name, email, address, and phone number.  The works.  And Christin claims she did it to ‘warn other sellers’ about the customer.
It’s been confirmed that hundreds of people saw the doxxing posts she made.
Most fiber arts groups had mods that deleted that shit instantly, because doxxing is a cunt thing to do.  Unfortunately WAFA didn’t, for six months.  And only after pressure by the consumer advocate group DT, on ravelry, did the owner remove the post.
So, if you have ever done business with Desert Panda Fiber Arts, you may be doxxed by this woman on a whim.  She stands by that her behavior was acceptable, and has posted an image on her business account of her flipping off the camera to anyone who thinks what she did was wrong.  So any personal information in her hands could be used online with her thinking nothing of it.
I’m attaching screen shots (the doxxed information has been edited out), after the line break.
Be careful with who you shop with out there, unfortunately.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally, here’s Christin posting Diana doxxing Diana on a private vendor group with 100+ members, where the information remained for more than six months without being removed.  No vendors in the WAFA group even spoke out in the comments against doxxing people, so this is also a warning about WAFA vendors and what they see as acceptable behavior.

Link to the Ravelry thread if anyone wants to read.

Aperçu of the Week:
"When the lion China awakes, the world will tremble."
(Napoleon Bonaparte)
Bad News of the Week:
For months, the actions of the "Last Generation" have polarized in Germany. Who use civil disobedience as a means, call for more (political) activity against climate change and are increasingly criminalized. In doing so, they are deliberately crossing borders; after all, they are interfering with public order in a disruptive way. For example, by sticking themselves to busy intersections in order to put a stop to the archenemy, the combustion engine. As a nation of drivers, the Germans don't like that at all.
It's just as typically German to fly on vacation - we're world champions at that. And flying, with its catastrophic environmental record, combined with continued state subsidies, is a prime example of climate policy failure. So it's not really surprising that the organization paralyzed two airports on the first day of summer vacation in their states. And the displeasure was not just in Hamburg and Düsseldorf. Politicians were also quick to offer sharp criticism. Robert Habeck of the Green Party, for example, said, "The activists who are now blocking people's vacation travel are doing massive damage to the cause of climate protection." Anyone who really wants to stand up for climate protection must also have social acceptance in mind.
With this the Green politician, who is not only the Minister of Economics but also the Minister of Climate Protection, inadvertently sums it up. Because this is also evident in view of the current booking figures for air tourism: broad society simply does not want to accept that more needs to be done. And fast. But no, everyone just sticks to their comfortable habits: flying on vacation, driving a fat car, not paying for climate-friendly heating, doing online shopping in China and a schnitzel on the plate every day.
That's why journalist Janko Tietz of Der Spiegel poses a justified rhetorical question: "Perhaps Habeck also has a tip up his sleeve about how exactly he envisions protest that is socially accepted, hurts no one - and still has an effect." Because if it really is the case that both the Green Party and the climate protection minister have been softened by the results of the polls, the only thing left to do in view of the undeniable necessity is to protest in a way that hurts. Until the last one finally understands what is necessary.
Good News of the Week:
In the coalition agreement, the current government already stipulated that it wanted to define a new China strategy. That was at the end of 2021, before the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine. In which China still refuses to show its colors and at the same time has significantly increased its aggressiveness toward Taiwan. And which, in its economic implications, has brought the issue of "dependence" into the mainstream consciousness.
This week, the announced paper was put on the table. 64 pages that give the impression that something has actually been learned from past experience. Sure, there is no denying that China is Germany's most important trading partner. As a sales market and as a production location. And it is admitted that in many international issues, such as the fight against climate change, it will not be possible without the Middle Kingdom. That is simply the reality.
But otherwise, there is a refreshing amount of plain speaking. In a thoroughly critical manner. A China that is taking a much more offensive stance in foreign policy is trying "in various ways to reshape the rules-based international order. This has implications for European and global security." it says already in the introduction. Likewise, the human rights violations against the Uyghurs, in Tibet and Hong Kong are clearly named.
In the economic context, too, one gets the impression that the same mistake as with the dependence on Russian gas should not happen again. There should be no decoupling from China, but the dependence on key technologies and important raw materials should be reduced. The opening of chip and battery factories at home fits in with this, even if it is more expensive. So there also seems to be a consensus within the economy itself. That's a good thing.
Personal happy moment of the week:
We had some storms last week. For example, heavy branches from the tree next door fell into the chicken enclosure of the neighboring farm. Probably with victims. I also had problems getting home from Baden-Württemberg on Thursday because of closed railroad lines - falling trees had cut power lines. Nevertheless, standing between far too many people on the train, I was dominated by confidence. I made it. Uncomfortably and with a lot of time. But still. And I will stick to taking the (ecologically better) train instead of the car. Even in difficult situations, it works, after all.
I couldn't care less...
...about the Swedish definition of freedom of expression. Following the public burning of a copy of the Koran two weeks ago, Stockholm police have authorized a demonstration to burn the holy scriptures of Jews and Christians. The choice of location alone - in front of the Israeli embassy - shows that this is a deliberate provocation that is politically motivated. Covering that with reference to the legitimate expression of personal opinion puts me in a dilemma of weighing different value-based rights against each other. Difficult.
As I write this...
...it is 33 degrees Celsius. Even I wear shorts, which my daughter finds laughable. And I drink Aperol Sprizz, which is often considered a typical women's drink. And listen to summer hits playlists that are close to the radio program, which is actually unpopular with me. Sometimes you just have to compromise.
Post Scriptum
Germany depends on immigration to maintain its prosperity. This is not just about the increasingly sought-after skilled workers in key technologies, but about additional hands and heads at all levels - from nurses to AI specialists. The bottom line is that around 500,000 are needed every year. That's according to the so-called "economic wise" who advise the federal government as an independent, non-partisan body of experts. Yet Germany is facing international competition in which it is finding it increasingly difficult to survive.
Complicated language, cumbersome bureaucracy and inadequate childcare are the classic aspects that deter potential immigrants. Added to this is the rise of right-wing populists, who are officially xenophobic. Economist Ulrike Malmendier does research at the University of California at Berkeley and sees parallels to Trumpism: "I've seen how quickly it can happen that you divide a society with simple slogans and prejudices."
Welcome culture is a beautiful word. It exists in the German dictionary, but not in reality. People not only have to come, they also have to stay - currently, one million people leave the country every year. In all society levels. Because if no one sits down next to you in the subway, it doesn't matter whether you're a refugee from Afghanistan or a neurosurgeon from Pakistan: the color of your skin is enough to make you feel exposed to resentment that has nothing to do with you personally - but shows a general latent xenophobia. To the detriment of all.

How To Add Value With Sports Media Content Creation
Tumblr media
What I can do for clients right now:
1. I provide over 1000 photographs of any training session or single game event. Typically that will get selected down to about 100 photographs or so. I have shot tournament events, providing the client with over 3000 action photos, along with posed photographs of each team.
2. I can provide video footage in 24fps, I can also provide over an hours worth of footage for games and such. I use a Canon 60D, a Canon 5D Mark 3 and a Panasonic Mdch1 for long recording.
3. I provide the option of editing your video clips/footage into 1 video for marketing/advertising/promotional use like a corporate video.
4. I have hired talent to conduct on-camera interviews with the brand/person sponsoring and/or hosting, along with people of interest and public figures.
6. I have hired crew/extra Camera Operators to help with shooting.
7. Scouting locations and contacting people of importance for permission to shoot.
8. Create Graphics/ images.
Tumblr media
One of my favorite content creators right now is a guy named Flash Film Academy, and I like dude’s content becasue there’s a focus on the business aspects of content creation on his channel.
See, it’s not so much that I can create content, it’s more about what problem can the content solve, and who does it have value to? Keep this in mind.
I’ve also been watching a boatload of content by photographers that either photograph professional sports teams or events like Formula One, and what they all have in common, is a process that allows them to chop down the images or footage quickly on-site/on-location. A process that allows them to begin post production and/or marketing without stopping shooting and or missing important highlights or action.
Another content creator I’ve fallen in love with, is a guy named Futur and I like his stuff because it gives pointer on how to do a better job of haggling and negotiating to get more out of a client. He’ll do these mock negotiation videos where he role plays as the client or the freelancer, and shows you tips on how to handle certain questions, negotiate better or screen a client.
Tumblr media
The ideal Sports Media Company/Service:
1. Must be able to capture immense amount of photographs/footage
2. Find talent/crew to help in shooting, editing, planning, co-ordinating
3. Must have relationship with equipment rental facilities
4. Must know and be familliar with the most reputable sports arenas in the country.
5. Must have contact with sports agencies and representative of pro athletes
6. Solid branding
7. Has an on-line community
8. Exists on various platforms provides content via podcasts, vide oessays
9 a) Patreon
b) Youtube
c) Instagram
d) Twitter
What’s On My Plate Right Now:
Tumblr media
1. Yeah, I See The Way The Necks Lookin’
So right now, I’m dealing with a client that owns a semi-professional sports team, and bro’s set-up is big time, I mean impressive.
This guy has his players on monthly stipends, he provides accommodation for all of them, has players coming in from West, East and Central Africa, he’s got contact with a bunch of the biggest teams in the Province, and he’s gotten players signed to first division/pro teams.
Now my man says he wants edited videos of specific player’s highlights during games.  No problem, just so happens to be right in line with things I’ve done in the past, right.
The idea here is that, he’s going to take these videos and send them to pro teams, after which the players will hopefully move to thier new team, get a new contract, and he and the club, get the transfer money and a signing bonus.
It’s a smart move. Here’s the problem. We need to talk about a pay increase.
I’m becoming a one-stop shop for all this guy’s content creation needs, and I think remuneration is in order here. Ideally what I want, is either a retainer, or a pay increase per call, big enough to where I can start to add some man power and muscle to what has been a one-man operation up to now.
Or he can go back to using that stepped-on video shit he was shooting on his phone. Lol, I’m tryna get to that Griselda level too, nahmean?
Tumblr media
2. Approaching Sports Agencies And Seeing Whose ‘Bout It, ‘Bout It
This here, according to me, should be the thing getting most of my attention for the foreseeable future.
Working for teams as an independant contractor is cool, but these are the guys that really open doors. Sports Agencies are the guys that can get me straight in to the door of a professional sports teams.
Look, this here is a look, but from what I’m seeing, is that it is more likely to happen if I’m shooting sports other than soccer.
Look, I’ve been hangin’ out with some of friends in the semi-professional soccer circuit, and the one thing I’ve come to learn, is player rights in South African football is a very dodgy affair.
Players don’t like to say who owns their rights, and in a lot of cases, guys don’t know, and are completely not equipped to deal with these legal and contractual issues at all. So when I go looking for sports agencies/representatives of players, it is a curiosity that is not met with any kind of warmth or welcome because they don’t know me.
This appears to be less true in the sport of Rugby, which appears to be more transparent about these things and while I don’t understand the sports as well, i could damn sure learn.
Collaboration or working for a sports agency helps the resume, gets me in the door with a better network, and of course, the cheese baby.
I still may try hitting up creative agencies, but I feel I want to explore every option with the sports content thing because it’s so different as far as working hours, if you do approach an agency and it also depends how the agency uses you.
Tumblr media
3. Headhunting the NBA and NBA Africa Representatives
Basically, I want an interview with Joel Embiid or Giannis Antetokounmpo.
This is a pipe dream but if you peep LinkedIn, there are doors that can be opened, however, it’s gonna take time, focus, strategy and thinking about my moves.
There’s a guy, I only know him via LinkedIn, but he’s local, and he happens to be very plugged in to basketball on the African continent.
All these pipelines that produced guys like Pascal Siakam, Emmanuel Mudiay, Luc Mbah Moute, Luol Deng, Al-Farouq Aminu, these guys all come from small networks of basketball hubs throughout Africa, that are most lively in West Africa.
If you are African, and you want to be involved with basketball, you have to go West.
Now, there’s a league called the Basketball Africa League, I’ve seen it on ESPN a bunch of times, and my guess, is that bro is very plugged in to this league, so we’re gonna pull his coat.
What I want is an opportunity to photograph some of the BAL’s league games, cos that’ll definitely help the portfolio/reel, but in building communication with bro bro, hopefully he can help show the road to NBA Africa and their events.
Two birds, one stone. That’s how everything has to be now.
The head of NBA Africa is a guy named Franck Traore. Bro, the next time Embiid or Giannis is in the country or on the continent, that’s the guy that they likely have an obligation to do appearances for, and that’s gonna be how I get my interview.
I could try to go direct to Franck but I don’t think that’s a great plan, plus there’s all the other things I could gain from it by going the long way.

8 Tips for a Smooth Solar Installation
Solar services have been helpful to many people. Without them, the entire project process would be in chaos and sturdiness and quality are never guaranteed. However, it would be best if you also considered that a successful installation would not be possible without the client's help. Everything good in the project is achieved with cooperation, so here are some tips you can follow for a smooth solar installation Hunter Valley:
Choose the Right Installer
As a customer, the first thing you need to do is to choose the right installer. Trusting your solar energy and property to someone who does not have a good background in the industry might hit you negatively in the future. Do not let it happen by ensuring that the one you hire has certification and licence. You know that they are professionals enough to handle any solar-related enquiries and they adhere to local regulations.
Get Multiple Quotes
If choosing a solar installer is becoming more challenging, you might want to consider getting multiple quotes from different companies and contractors. This way, you can know more about their offers, their pricing, and if they are worth it. In the quote, there are several details you need to look at, like the price, services, and warranties.
Conduct a Site Assessment
Once you have already chosen a trusted and legitimate solar installer, it is time to conduct a professional site assessment. This process will tell you and the professionals where to best place the solar panel and if they can get the sunlight exposure they need. If you have trees that could impact the exposure and create shade in the area, do not be surprised if the installers give you the talk about what to do with the tree and how it can affect the solar panels.
Check Reviews and References
Whatever product or service you get, always read ratings and reviews. The words you will read are from the previous clients of the business, giving you knowledge and an overview of their firsthand experiences. Their reputation online can already tell you so much, helping you save time and energy contacting them. This task might sound boring and time-consuming, but it is worth it.
Plan for Maintenance
Utilising solar energy in your home does not start with the installation and ends with using it. Always remember that maintenance is required for many things, including solar panels. Regular inspection and cleaning are just some of what you must do to keep the system running smoothly and efficiently. If there are unchecked and unresolved issues in your solar system, long-term damage is what it will face someday.
Prepare Your Roof
The installation of solar panels is commonly done on the roof. And if you want the same for your home to get better access to sunlight exposure, you need to prepare it. Check if it is in good and sturdy condition, considering that the weight of solar panels can be heavy. Having lots of them in your shelter can bring some weight. Before installing solar panels, call a roofing professional to help with the checking.
Understand the Installation Process
The entire installation process is not as easy as you perceive it to be. Before everything is put in your home, the solar installers need to have the correct tools and equipment. Not to mention the design proposal, connections, and system performance. Even if you are not the one who will perform the installation, it is better if you understand the process to give you a grasp of what to expect.
Educate Yourself on Solar Technology
There is no harm in learning new things and educating yourself on solar technology. Since you will have one on your property someday, it is better if you understand them to use them properly. Keep yourself updated with the latest technologies and developments and see if you can have them on your property too.
Make solar installations hassle-free with the help of these tips. May these help you understand every aspect of your plans and see if those can work well for you in the long run. Do not underestimate the power of preparation and knowledge because those are some ingredients of successful solar usage.

10 Tips for Creating Engaging Animated Videos
Making animated videos that will attract the attention of viewers is not easy and needs the requirement of creativity, expertise, and planning. These are recommendations that are very valuable to anyone who is interested in creating an animation in any level; from a new animator to a professional animator. 1. It begins with a strong script to guide the overall production or a scene, and avoid repeating the mistakes of an episode like ‘Trouble with the script’. Here , the basis of any good animated video is having a good script. Invest some quality time to begin with the narrative and make sure it will lure the readers to read on. Adhere to the point and relevant to your video’s goal, as well as the target demographic. 2. Develop a Unique Style Drawing style is your identity In the case of animation, your style is your identity. Create your own video identity that will help viewers distinguish between your videos and others. Some examples include a specific color combination, character’s appearance, or the motion trace; anything that is consistent contributes to the brand image. 3. Plan Your Storyboard Here is the pre-organization advice: before beginning animation, think through the storyboard or its segments. It is always useful to sketch out each scene and observe the flow and the themes of the video. This assists in planning your work and ensures smooth flow of events presented in the story. 4. Focus on Quality Audio As much as visuals play an important role in the animated video, sound equally matters in the set video production. Ensure you use quality voice overs, and sound effects, as well as quality background music. Best audio is a clean and professional audio that creates a great experience for your viewers and engaging them. 5. Thus, the KISS method states that an acronyn should be kept as short and simple as possible. People are busy with their lives and these attention spans are very thin, keep it short. A length should be served that will make the article interesting but not intimidating to read. Generally, most of the animated videos should not exceed two minutes in length. 6. Use Engaging Characters Personages are the core of your animation. Develop protagonists that people can feel for, and that people can easily remember. Appropriate and lively characters help to increase the level of interest in the video by several times. 7. When building a narrative, it is appropriate to incorporate a Call to action. The last thing you should remember for your video is that you need to include your call to action (CTA). It matters whether the audience comes to the video/website, subscribes to the channel, or shares the video; a great CTA shows the viewer what to do next, maximising the effect of the material.
8. Taking time and beating the pace also play an important role in international business negotiations. Another aspect of animation is time management where making of animations have to be done with careful planning of the time to be taken. Make sure that your animations are fluid and follow the beat that corresponds to your story. This means one should avoid scenes that are too short or too long since either of them is found to interrupt the viewer. 9. Add Subtitles Subtitles can be a very beneficial addition to your video and improve its accessibility massively. It is especially useful for people who might be watching videos without sound and makes sure that your audience gets the information when some of them might not be able to hear it, for example people with hearing impairment, or non-native speakers. 10. Test and Iterate Last but not least, never release a full animated video without presenting it to a limited number of people. Collect the feedback, and change where and when necessary. This way, the audience is provided with an opportunity to give their opinion and arrangements are made to bring positive changes and alterations due to the community.

How to Keep Your Office Clean and Tidy: Easy Cleaning Tips for a Smart Office Setup
Tumblr media
It is very important to keep your workplace clean and organised in today's fast-paced business world, where speed and effectiveness are more important than ever. A clean and well-organized office can do more than just make it look better. It can also improve the health and happiness of your employees. Here are some useful and easy ways to clean your workplace that will help you make it look nice and feel good:
Make a daily cleaning schedule. Every day, take a few minutes to clean up before you start your day. Tell your workers to clean up their desks, get rid of any needless mess, and organise their papers in the first few minutes of their day. People who are addicted to this substance start the day in a good mood, which keeps them from getting confused.
Buy the right storage solutions. Making sure your office is free of mess requires having enough storage room. Make sure your employees can get to file shelves, cabinets, and table planners so they can store their papers, stationery, and personal electronics in a smart way. Another way to save time and get things in order faster is to label the areas of the garage.
Push people to do things without paper By giving people virtual options, you can cut down on the amount of paper waste that is made. It is important to push employees to scan files and store them digitally. They should also use cloud storage to share reports and use digital communication tools whenever they can. This cuts down on both the trash that needs to be thrown away and the need for real filing systems.
Give Cleaning Duties to Different People or Groups: To build a sense of ownership, it's best to give cleaning duties to different people or groups on a regular basis. For example, one group might be in charge of cleaning the kitchen and meeting rooms once a week, along with other shared areas of the building. Because of this shared job, people are more likely to work together, and cleaning tasks are always done.
As the fifth step, you should start using green cleaning methods, which include picking cleaning products that are safe for workers and good for the environment. It is important to look for cleaning products that are safe and will break down naturally. You should also use microfiber cloths and mops because they might be better at picking up dust and need a lot less water and chemicals.
Make a schedule for professional cleanings. Daily upkeep is important, but you also need to do deep cleanings regularly with the help of professional cleaning services. That way, you can get to hard-to-reach spots and clean rugs and other fabrics. It is suggested that these cleanings happen regularly. Professional cleaners will bring new life to the office while also keeping it clean to the required standard.
Create rules for keeping your desk clean and organised by making a "clean desk policy." Workers should be told to clean up their desks every night so that they don't have any papers or personal electronics on them. People who follow a clean desk policy not only keep the workplace cleaner, but they also make it safer by making it less likely that important papers will be left lying around.
Encourage everyone to keep the workplace clean as a matter of course. This is the eighth step in making cleaning a habit. Two important things that can help keep the workplace clean and organised are teaching people how to clean effectively and encouraging open conversation about this. For workers who help keep the workplace clean, make sure they are recognised and paid for their hard work by giving them prizes or praise.
Last Thoughts
Adding these tips for smooth office cleaning to your daily work routine could help you turn your office into a clean and simple space that promotes health and productivity. It is possible to create a smart office setting that workers will enjoy and do well in by implementing a daily cleaning routine, buying storage solutions, using eco-friendly methods, and encouraging a culture of cleanliness. It is important to remember that a smooth workplace isn't always about how it looks. Instead, it's about creating a great and professional environment where everyone can do their best work.

Mastering Time Management: Productivity Tips for Busy Entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurs are known to burn the midnight oil, sacrificing sleep, relationships, and health to try and succeed in a competitive market. It’s not easy.
But ‘making it’ as an entrepreneur doesn’t need to lead to burnout or a 24/7 work, work, work lifestyle. Once you master time management, you’ll realize there’s plenty of time to get things done and have a life. This two-pack punch is everything you need, the core of your system to time management.
The Get Things Done (GTD) Method
Being productive is about getting things done, not just putting the hours in. We’re often proud about grinding at our desks for 12 hours a day, only to realize that nothing has been ticked off the list.
That’s where the GTD method comes in. It involves 5 simple steps to, well, get things done:
Step 1. Instead of cramming your brain with thoughts, capture them. Once you’ve written it down, it’s gone. Don’t let it fry your brain, and focus on the task at hand.
Step 2. You can’t just scribble down random notes and be done with it. No, you need to clarify your thoughts into action steps. Is it part of a wider project, something you need to work on today, or simply an idea or a point to look at later.
Step 3. Now we’re getting somewhere. Organize your notes into a calendar or to-do list, leveraging the power of third-party tools to help you get there. Asana is great, but a basic Google Doc or Sheet can be just as handy.
Step 4. Review your lists consistently. Set some time aside for it at the end of your day and/or week, ensuring you keep things in sensible organization.
Step 5. This is where you have to engage with the lists you’ve put together. There’s no point to doing any of this unless you take some action, right?
For all of this, we’re going to argue that it’s time to go retro and start writing, old school style. Or write things up on your laptop/iPad and then print it off.
Just like the effectiveness of print in marketing, there’s something about making your list tactile, real. Research shows that something on paper, whether written or printed, is far more likely to be actioned vs. a digital copy.
The Pomodoro Technique
We all struggle with distractions. That pesky smartphone is the worst one of all. Even when you’re trying not to look at it, it’s calling to you, like the ring with Frodo. My Precious, indeed...
Well, fear not, the GTP method has often been coupled by many with the Pomodoro Technique. It’s one of the most effective ways to combat distractions and beat procrastination.
It’s a super simple technique, but it really does work. This is what you do:
Step 1. Pick a task, anything. Just make it into a chunk that won’t last longer than 25 minutes.
Step 2. Set your timer for, you guessed it, 25 minutes.
Step 3. Once that timer starts, focus on your task. Don’t let anything distract you. If you look at your phone even once, restart the timer.
Step 4. You’ve made it through 25 minutes. Congratulations? Reward yourself with a 5 minute break.
Step 5. Made it through 4 pomodoros? You’ve got a nice little prize: take 30 minutes off, wasting it in whatever manner you wish. We recommend going for a walk, taking your eyes off the screen, or simply dozing and letting time pass without a worry in the world.
For some people, 25 minutes isn’t enough. They go for a 50-10 split. It doesn’t really matter how you configure your time, as long as you stick to the core rule: never look at your phone when the timer is running.
For many people, using the Harry Potter ambiance music is absolutely perfect for this. It adds a layer of fun, the music has been crafted for full focus, and these playlists have been made with Pomodoro in mind.
Remember, it’ll take some time to get into the flow. Don’t expect miracles on day 1. And if you mess up, don’t sweat it. We’re all human, yes, even entrepreneurs.
The key is finding a system, fine-tuning it to work with your specific psychological and physical needs and ticks, and sticking to it. Once you’re there, you’ll wonder why you never started earlier.

Know Your Target Audience

Irrespective of the purpose, you need to have a clear understanding of the target. This authentic and unbiased understanding will help in fine-tuning the strategy for yourself.
Focus on getting answers to points like the purpose of your products, audience demographics, type of audience, and more.

So the ideal way is to include every stakeholder of your business to gain insights and create a buzz about all-around social presence. Create a well-thought plan covering your current position, objective, call to action, report monitoring methodology, etc.
Break the plan into steps and assign a responsible person to oversee every aspect of social media planning. Getting active on all those platforms is a good idea for boarding your reach and helping the brand spread to the world, but can you do the majority of them with equal vigor? That's quite challenging.
Avoid being a master of none and a jack of all trades. Instead, focus on two or three social media platforms and do everything to make the presence felt wide.
