How Medea was justified ?
I had said that she was justified by the gods. There is this cool thing about greek tragedies that everyone forgets, especially non-greek people : everything is determined by the gods. Religion. Ancient greek people were religious people. When you try to analyse greek classics and evaluate who is justified and who isn't, the first thing you need to do is see how their actions are perceived by the gods. You need to be in touch with the moral code of the story, not substitute it with your modern moral code. There is a reason why Medea is justified by the gods for killing her own children, while Clytemnestra is NOT justified by the gods for killing her husband. Nowadays killing your cheating authoritarian husband who killed your kid is kind of justified, but killing your own kids isn't. This wasn't the case in the ancient greek world, for many many reasons. I'm not going to explain it in details because I would need the whole morning for this, but for starters you can read the texts and most of the time, they have all the answers you need. I will just say that not only Medea is justified by the gods, but she is actually an agent of the divine will herself.
When Medea escapes to Athens in the divine chariot given to her by Helios, at the end of the play, the Chorus says this :
"Zeus on Olympus,
dispenses many things.
Gods often contradict
our fondest expectations.
What we anticipate
does not come to pass.
What we don't expect
some god finds a way
to make it happen.
So with this story".

I think itd be funny if every week, not even for the actual tournament but just for fun, there'd be a Lloyd vs Antigone poll, and each week ppl would get more and more exhausted till there are like 3 voters and Lloyd FINALLY wins . (joking)
@classics and ninjago fandoms this actually sounds like a really funny idea would yall wanna do it [if/when Antigone is eliminated from the actual bracket]???

From the author of one of my favorite romcoms (The Trouble With Hating You) comes a new book in the Rick Riordan Presents imprint: A Drop of Venom
link to book and full summary from images above
The Aru Shah series was fun and I’m excited for this now. It is a Perseus and Medusa retelling set in India. Also Manisha is giving strong Liya Thakkar vibes and I’m here for it. TW for assault.
