I love him, and I'm genuinely surprised it took so long for me to draw him Lmao. He's so fun

Power House AU: I've absolutely loved all the additions and directions people took this post where Danny is captured by the Justice League and I wanted to share my general thoughts on where it would go after that but I'm also lazy so it's just this since I'm tired and don't want to draw.

The JL attempts to interrogate him but fails as Phantom is unresponsive for the majority of the time.

They struggle trying to identify exactly why he isn't responsive considering he has either fully ran from members or quickly attempt to fight them if they try to interact with him.

Somehow, someway, when they're moving Phantom to a new location in the Watch Tower to get a medical check since they're getting worried that after a few days, he's remained the same.

Phantom proceeds to freak the fuck out in the nicest of terms when he's taken to their medical wing and manages to slip out from whoever was taking him.

He's in full panic mode now and he NEEDS to get out even with the suppression cuffs on him so he's dashing blindly in the watch tower.

He manages to make way to the Zeta tubes and somehow manages to make them function and he's teleported away (not Danny's intention, he was just running and it went off at the worst time.)

He doesn't know where he's at on Earth but he's immediately running either way to get away.

Certain members of the League Zeta'd right behind him and are now looking for him.

Danny gets the suppression cuffs and collar and transform right before they can catch him.

They let him leave as they're informed by Batman that they have enough information on him that with a lot of leg work, they may be able to find who he really is since they have now both seen his human and "meta" side of him. Batman does reveal that due to something with biology, they won't be able to find any DNA matches and much of the video recordings of him are difficult to make out even if they're from the Watch Tower.

Danny escapes back to Central City and tries his best to return to a normal college life. He's slightly upset since they managed to pull him away, leaving him little time to study for an upcoming exam.

A few more weeks pass and Batman with the help of Flash manage to find out who Phantom is. A young college student in Central City and is funnily enough working at S.T.A.R. Labs as an intern. Bright future ahead and seems like no one who would have a potential in being a hero/vigilante but digging enough into his past they believe that if anything, it seems like another case of how the Flash came to be except a whole different set of powers.

They decide the best way to get Phantom is to corner him as a civilian in public.

Bart Allen, Hal Jordan, and J'onn J'onzz go as a group of civilians to intervene with Danny as he's leaving one of his campuses buildings.

They make themselves known to Danny and that it would be a mighty bad time to try to fight back or get away as they're all so exposed in public (not really, they're talking alone between some buildings). They make it known that they only want to ask questions and they have concerns about whatever is going on with him (being Phantom, his rogues, fighting the League, clearly fighting alone, etc.)

Danny decides the risk is worth it and tries to make a run for it before even speaking a word to them. Clearly doesn't work out as they expect him to either run or fight them. Barry manages to get to him and place suppression cuffs and collar back on him fairly easily before Danny could transform thanks to super speed.

They're not happy clearly with Danny still not cooperating but it's expected. The three inform Danny that he is now being held by the League until they can determine the best next step.

For the first time, Danny speaks to them and says "You can't do that! Finals are in two weeks! What the fuck am I suppose to do that? It's literally my second final semester!"

It doesn't work and Danny finds himself taken back to the Watch Tower to be once again interrogated. It's back to square one with Danny/Phantom. He isn't responding to any of their questions but this time rather out of a sense of protection of his self and mind, it's out of pure spite. They're making him miss his finals, of course he's going to give them nothing in return.

The most they're able to get out of him at one point is that why should he trust them? Why should he trust heroes who only care about themselves and their image? Even if he's young and inexperienced, he does his job and does it quick and they need to leave him alone.

It's implied he doesn't trust the older heroes in any regard and this is true, they only want to learn how he got his powers, where his rouges are from, and why he fought and ran from the League. Nothing else, nothing more.

Danny/Phantom doesn't trust the League in any regard so why should he even attempt to cooperate?

Not to be drawing my own AU on a request ask but also in that ‘#hometown AU’ I draw sometimes they ARE in a band even though I realize I’ve only ever drawn Tim playing bass for it. I should do a full comic about it at some point but the thought of actually explaining anything about the AU itself sounds exhausting. Regardless. Yes- I love punk band yj I love that they’re probably terrible.

Because listen, just like you wrote, him appearing to not have scars sells the story of future tourist so well, BUT LITTLE DO THEY KNOW THAT THERE IS ONE HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT

I do kinda wish that Jay told someone, or managed to come through to Bart and have a real heart to heart with him instead of being roasted for being concerned (Bart "livestock get branded, it's literally common knowledge, I was about as important as a pig" Allen I'm looking at you, maybe you haven't acknowledged/realised it but there is SOMETHING hiding behind that titanium wall of yours)

It doesn't even need to be Jay, but maybe some day Bart will feel comfortable sharing this scar with Ed or Jaime (though Jaime would probably, like, want to fling himself to the sun if Bart ever told him) and just get some form of comfort out of it

(A funky addition would be that Ed found out by exploring if ya know what I mean🤭)

But that also leaves me wondering, like, since that brand is pretty unique in his time, how would Bart have passed in the camps after/if he escaped the Scientists? Did he draw a fake brand on his neck? Did the Scientists send him there after being satisfied with their tests and just knowing where he was/being able to pull him back whenever they desired?

Also his connections with the prostitutes was really clever, they're the ones who can coax information out of important people after all, allowing Bart to gather some necessary tech for his time machine. Genius genius genius. I'm just imagining a 12-year-old Bart casually vibing/downing booze with these people and nobody suspecting a thing when in reality he's plotting to break their reality down

honestly (hes unaware of it though) Jay seems to be respecting Barts very much unsaid wishes (bart doesn’t think he cares about who knows, but he seems to prefer the fewer the better approach in this case) by not telling anyone. I don’t think it’s intentional on his part, but u knw sometimes u do (or don’t) do things without realising

genuinely, it’s the funniest thing ever to me how everyone read that scene as bart roasting jay like 😭 he was just keeping it real but with his unshakeable attitude 😂 which honestly yeah that is basically sass, love it when characters and scenes take on a life of their own sometimes truly it’s so entertaining and such typical bart behaviour lol

idk if Jaime knows 👀 if he does i feel like itd be cause of Bart for some reason thinking it would be funny to show it to him and then Jaimes just like

yeah Ed 100% knows and for the exact reasons u mentioned 😂 i mean besides being at the dentists that’s pretty much the only other socially acceptable reason for someone to look into barts mouth at this point

i won’t go too much into the timeline of bart’s captivity as a lab rat vs him being in the camps as a slave, but they’re two very different stages of his life (he’s much younger as a lab rat whereas being a slave was closer to him leaving his timeline, a lot of stuff went down in between). I should’ve probably elaborated a bit more on it in the chapter, but whilst it was unique it wasn’t completely unheard of to not be branded on the neck, especially since a lot of their subjects were meta humans, there’s bound to be some variety of people that have it elsewhere. all that mattered was that u had the brand

I want to read the dc comics, but I have no idea where to start. Which one do I read first?

I gave recs for what I started over here and they’re mainly what I started with so you can understand what I draw, but here are some more :) when I first started reading comics I went for shorter ones but as you read you get exposed to characters and you’re like “I wanna read more of them” and then it all spirals from there. I think it helped me get used to reading comic bullshit lol. I only started reading this year so there’s a lot I haven’t read out there.

1. Supersons 2016 (very cute and more lighthearted, three series, finished so it’s about 30 ish issues in total i think, Damian Wayne/Robin and Jonathan Kent/Superboy are the sons of Batman and Superman and they get into shenanigans and have a cute friendship. I really like these ones😊)

2. Young Justice 1998 (older so dunno if you wanna start with it, but it’s fun and wacky and I love it, 55 issues plus some crossover/tie in issues so probably like 60 ish issues, features Tim drake/robin, superboy/Conner kent, impulse/Bart Allen, wonder girl/Cassandra sandsmark, greta Hayes/secret, arrowette/cissie king jones, plus more like empress/anita fite, slobo, and red tornado.)

3. Graduation day (mini comic that is 2 or 3 issues about breaking up yj and the titans smh smh) then the core four (Tim, Bart, kon, cassie) join the teen titans

Teen titans 2003 (grittier and edgier than yj but has it’s nice character moments here n there, about 100 issues, but I’m not gonna lie if Conner isn’t in the issue I kinda zoned out or skimmed it ummm >_>)

4. Batman urban legends. ( ongoing, anthology of several stories and characters, good if you wanna meet a lot of Gotham based characters. This was like my first legit exposure to dc comics specifically so I’m putting it here)

5. World’s Finest 2022 (ongoing, Um I think there’s 5 or 6 issues out rn. It’s revisiting Batman, Robin (Dick grayson), and Superman’s first years together and it’s reallyyyyy cooooooool. I love the vibes and art. Feels very authentically comic book-y. Dan mora is my favorite dc artist Honestly . Lots of others show up too like Supergirl and Doom Patrol 😊Actually this is Probably my fave out of the new comics)

6. Batgirls 2022 (ongoing but there’s like 9 issues out I think??, features Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain, and Barbara Gordon, who have all held the mantle of batgirl. Also the art slaps.)

7. Batgirl 2000 (70 issues, about Cassandra cain’s run as batgirl, I haven’t finished it but Its like a really lauded run and is well written so go read it)

8. Batgirl 2009 (26 issues I think, this is about Stephanie brown’s run as batgirl, she is my beloved I love her so much and her jokes are so😖💜)

9. Red Robin 2009 (26 issues I think?, runs parallel to Batgirl 2009 and Batman and Robin 2009, I put this one last bc I feel like it needs a Lot of context unlike the others where you can just jump into it but it is short and It was also one of my first comics so 🧍🏻‍♀️. Basically Tim drake had a solo run (Robin 1993) but it’s over 100 issues and I haven’t even read all of em bc there’s. So much. So if u wanna read more tim drake stuff I’d suggest looking up a reading list bc he debuts in the Detective Comics issues and then gets his own solo. Anywaysss so basically a lot of shit happened lots of friends n family died or “died” leaving Tim in a pretty bad place. Bruce is assumed dead, so Dick becomes Batman and makes Damian his Robin, and Tim takes up the Red Robin mantle. okay actually you can easily pick up the context when u read so nvm😗✌️)

I was gonna put more but I’m on mobile and hit the photo limit ☹️ Kon and Bart have their solos, I started reading The New Teen Titans from the 80s, Damian has a recent robin run, and I’m planning on reading more supergirl/superfam comics and green lantern corps comics so yeaaaaah there’s a loooooot. Hopefully something here piqued your interest and I didn’t overwhelm you.

Works in Progress, DC x Reader - Update 7.25.22

These are not in the order that they will be posted in, they are just written in.

Honestly, "Artist's Muse" is the most likely to be uploaded next, then "Little Menace" and lastly "Summer Storms." Assuming I do not start anymore but do not hold your breath. Summaries and information listed below.

Summer Storms - Kon Kent [Superboy]

Summary: Kon sees someone under a shop awning – while a storm rages around them. Thinking they may need to get to their destination dry, he offers his jacket to help them. Too bad the storm has other plans.

Note: I am mostly stuck on this one for two reasons - my major motivation for writing it is when there is a literal summer storm going on outside, and then second, I have never written for Kon before. So I am trying to rewrite this in a way that seems better suited for his personality.

Little Menace - Jaime Reyes/Khaji Da [Blue Beetle III]

Summary: Blue Beetle has been handling you as a villain for ages. But what happens after he showed up expecting a fight, only to find you bloody on the ground. Against Jaime’s better judgment, Khaji Da suggested dragging you back to their apartment and getting you cleaned up – after all, they need to find out what happened. Which leads to their current predicament of getting you into the bath without them leaving you unsupervised. 

Note: Based on the prompt by @gingerly-writing, prompt #3109: “You know,” the supervillain rasped as they eased their battered body into the bath, “when you finally got me naked, I was imagining a much sexier situation.”

Also, this one is likely to have more innuendos from reader. It is also a villain!reader. I am trying to keep in GN right now, as the same for most of my works. I know what I want to write, it is a matter of where to start more like it. And doing it justice, I absolutely loved Blue Beetle growing up, and still do. I want to do him justice.

Artist's Muse - Bart Allen [Impulse]

Summary: Reader is drawing outside, minding their own business at first. But inspiration is not coming so easily today – until someone catches your eye. Though he is sitting a few feet away from you, he appears to be relaxed as he lays back relaxed, talking with his friends every so often. Struck by the desire to draw, you find the sketch on the page looking more and more like him, too engrossed in the art to realize that you have been caught.

Chapter 3 -

Used to being a stay-at-home mom to her two seven-year-olds, Iris didn’t quite know what to do with herself when both were absent and Eddie to boot. Well, she had some idea. Meandering through the house, she seated herself in Eddie’s office and booted up her old laptop. It didn’t take long at all for the screen to shift into the last page she’d had up a week ago.

The blog she’d created when she was in school to be a journalist. Her true passion. A passion she’d had to give up when her husband at the time, Barry Allen, had announced he’d quit his job to become a full-time writer – him, the CSI, not her, the journalist.

She bristled, her fingers hovering over the keyboard, and gave up, shutting the laptop again and sinking back into the chair.

“I’m sorry, what?”

Two-year-old Bart and Nora sat playing with blocks on the floor, and Iris did her very best not to lose her temper.

“I quit my job!”

He said it so cheerfully, like he was proud of it.

“What about our income? How are we going to pay our bills?”

“I’m going to be a writer.” He beamed.

Her eyes bulged.

“A…a writer?”

“Yeah, but fiction, not non-fiction. That’s your thing. For my first book, I was thinking something apocalyptical-slash-science fiction. Haven’t thought of a title yet, but I have the outline all planned out. In my head.”

She started to smile and nod and bite down on her bottom lip, then she laughed. She laughed so she wouldn’t cry or yell, especially with their two children sitting nearby.

“And when were you going to tell me about this?” she asked.

“I just…did…tell you.” He frowned.

“We’re married,” she said.

“I know we’re married. I remember last night,” he teased, suggestively, but she was not amused. “Don’t you?”

She glared.

“At the moment, I’m drawing a blank and the couch is looking mighty comfy. For you.”

He sighed and ran a hand through his hair as she walked away from him to do the dishes.

“Oh, come on, Iris. I was gonna tell you, but-”

“But what? Afraid I was gonna say no? Don’t throw away your entire career to write some short stories?”

“Novels, Iris. Not short stories like in college. This is the real deal.”

“And what inspired this? I thought you were happy at the station. You love your CSI work, and you’re the best in the city. Are you having a…mid-life crisis? At 30?”

He pursed his lips.

“Look, I know this feels like it’s coming out of left field.”

Her eyes widened, and she nodded.

“Yeah. It does.”

“But, okay, two weeks ago, the new captain at the station recognized my name. Turns out my grandfather was a professor who also wrote novels, and he knew about him. He asked if I wrote anything, and I dug up my short stories, and he said I have a lot of potential, and what am I doing wasting it as a CSI?”

Iris’ lips thinned.

“Did you tell him you have a wife and two kids to support?”

“So, I’ll support you guys through this! Writing is very lucrative. You should know, you were a writer.”

“Yes.” Her eyes narrowed. “I was, and I loved it, and I quit so I could take care of our children. So, tell me, if we’re both home, who is going to be paying the bills while you wait to finish up your novel and become a billionaire?”

“Well, you can go back to work. Don’t you miss being a journalist?”

“Huh.”

“What?”

She set the dishes down she was working on and propped a hand on her hip.

“So, if I go back to work…and you’re working in your office with the door closed so you can concentrate…who’s watching the kids?”

He licked his lips.

“Don’t your parents live nearby?” He winced, knowing he was reaching.

“And what? They have to babysit eight hours a day, five days a week, so your stubborn ass can write?”

“Hey, now, Iris, this is my passio-”

“For two weeks, Barry! For two weeks it’s been your passion.” She dug her nails into her side. “And tell me, why couldn’t you just write after you get off work?”

He frowned.

“Well, that’s my time with you and the kids.”

Her eyes narrowed.

“And you’re wishing it wasn’t now, aren’t you?”

“Iris-” He reached for her, but she backed away, hands up.

“Don’t touch me.”

“Iri-” He tried again as she circled around him and reached for her coat and headed for the door. “Where are you going?”

“Watch the kids. If it’s not too much of a burden for you, of course.”

“Iris.”

She glared and then closed the door behind her.

“Iris!”

Her eyes opened, as she was brought back to the empty house she now lived in. Eddie’s house, not Barry’s, not the house she thought she’d grow old in.

That had been the first of many fights she’d had with Barry. And for two years she did as he asked and let him write while her parents watched their babies. They both missed so many of their firsts from being gone during the day. She’d never get that back.

She’d experienced a lot more by being a stay-at-home mom after moving out and eventually moving in with Eddie. The divorce had given her a great gift, but it had also torn her family apart. And whenever she saw Barry, she wondered if it had been the right choice.

But quitting his job to become a full-time writer hadn’t been the only thing Barry had done to drive her to divorce. It was the person he had become after publishing his novel.

Was he still the same person?

Bzz. Bzz.

Nearly jumping out of her seat, she pulled her phone out of her pocket.

Love you.

She winced, typing back ditto before shutting off her screen.

She’d always hated when Barry had used ‘ditto’ at the end of their relationship, and now here she was thinking of him and using it on Eddie, the guy she was supposed to be in love with and 100% dedicated to now.

But was she?

Setting her phone on the desk, she got up, grabbed some fresh clothes and a towel and headed for the bathroom. Maybe a shower would get Barry Allen out of her head.

“Daddy, where are we going?”

It had been 10 minutes since they’d started what was supposed to be a short hike into Yellowstone, but Barry supposed he could only expect the very least amount of patience and the most amount of curiosity from his son of only seven years.

“We’re going to this really special place that I know.” He licked his lips as past years’ rendezvous flashed before his eyes. “Actually, it’s a place where your mom and I used to hang out a lot.”

“I don’t want to know where you and Mom had sex,” Nora blurted a few paces behind them. “I’m not ready for that, Barry.”

Irritation sparked off him and a modicum of grief.

“Stop calling me that,” he told his daughter. “It’s creeping me out. What’s wrong with Dad?”

Nora gave no response to that. He supposed he couldn’t blame her, but he was really trying to make an effort here. Was it totally pointless because his effort the last three years had been minimal at best?

“Daddy, look at this!”

Barry frowned as he addressed his son again and they came to a border fence with NO TRESPASSING signs plastered to it.

“That wasn’t here before.” He glanced at it, then decided to summon the spirit of adventure that had swept Iris off her feet all those years before. “What do we do?” He flipped his son’s baseball cap up and over his head so it flew over the fence and landed on the ground on the trespassing side.

Bart’s eyes bulged.

“Go get your hat.”

Using the bar in the middle of the fence, Barry heaved himself up and over the fence. Little Bart followed suit, though his climb and jump was a little slower. Nora stood there and watched in disbelief.

“Don’t you see the signs?”

But a look from Barry and Bart on the other side soon had Nora climbing up and over too. Barry extended his hand to help her over the last little jump, but after a moment’s hesitation, she jumped down on her own, pushing his offer aside.

“I got it, Barry. I’m not a baby.”

Barry sighed.

“Stop calling me…Barry,” he said under his breath, but he squelched the deserved hurt to the side and got ahead of his two children, leading them to where he hoped would be a beautiful lake they could hang out by.

Maybe the two little munchkins could swim. Maybe they’d have a picnic. Neither of those things came to fruition though, because as soon as they cleared the trees and got into the opening, all they saw was what had once been a huge lake, now dried up, and several little flags and no-trespassing tape surrounding the perimeter.

“Used to be a lake here.”

“Doesn’t look like much of a lake to me,” Bart muttered, sharing a look with his sister, that Barry thankfully wasn’t any the wiser to.

“I know, the whole thing’s gone.” Barry frowned. “Come on, let’s check it out.”

The kids were reluctant, but they followed. Unfortunately for all three of them, within minutes, trucks came up over the hillside and soon surrounded them.

“What is that?” Bart asked.

“Uh…” Barry tried to remain calm. So much for his adventuring. “That’s the U.S. Army.”

Several army men sprinted onto the dried-up lake, approaching him. One specifically spoke to him, and Barry knew instantly he’d have to be submissive.

“You’re in a restricted area, sir. We need you and your family to come with us.”

“Right.” He glanced down at his kids, holding each of their hands in his grip. Surprisingly, Nora didn’t resist. “Okay, we’re going to go with these guys. That’ll be fun, huh?”

The ride was quick. In fact, it ended just over the hill and into a valley where a completely hidden government base was operating. Once the truck came to a stop, they were escorted out and told to wait.

“It’s a National Park. There’s not supposed to be posted fences, right? What’s going on here?” Barry asked one of the guards standing by. He wouldn’t answer him. In fact, none of them would.

Luckily, someone soon approached that would.

“We’re geologists,” the man said.

Barry smirked.

“You usually go digging with machine guns?”

The man dismissed the army men and gave Barry his full attention.

“What happened to the lake?”

“That’s what we’re trying to find out. Right now all we can conclude is that the whole area there is very, very unstable. I think it’s best if you take yourself and your children and leave, Mr…Allen,” he finished, glancing down at the ID he’d been given on his way over. A light went on.

“What?” Barry asked, dumbfounded for a moment.

“You’re not by any chance the Barry Allen who wrote Goodbye, Central City, are you?”

A hesitant smirk crossed Barry’s face.

“The very same.”

The man burst into a smile and a laugh and started to gush, causing Nora to roll her eyes and Bart to butt in.

“It’s actually dedicated to my mom,” he beamed.

Barry nodded along, answering a few questions and smiling, obviously grateful for the support, though apparently this reader had not bought the book either but had been given it by his father. Another reminder of the failure that was his writing career.

But that wasn’t where his mind was at now. His mind was at…

“Iris…” he hedged, knowing she hadn’t been thrilled to be at his first book signing with him but wanting to show his gratitude anyway.

They were at home now. The kids were asleep. And she was doing her best to not lash out. It had been a big day for him, and she’d acted the supportive wife because he’d asked her to, but inside she was screaming for what their life had become, and he knew it. He knew he’d failed her.

“What is it, Barry?”

“I appreciate you coming today.”

“And acting the dutiful wife?” She sipped at her wine, holding the fragile stem carefully between her fingertips, wondering what would be so bad about her snapping it into pieces.

He sighed.

“I know you didn’t read my book…”

Her jaw clenched.

“And you don’t have to.”

“Gee, thanks.”

He got up, set the book beside her on the couch, and retreated into his office.

“Tell me something,” the young man got his attention again. “Do you really believe those people would have acted so selflessly, knowing their own lives were at risk, if it were to really happen?”

Barry thought for a beat, thought how very selfish he’d been for a long time and the world wasn’t even ending.

“I hope so.” He paused. “Well, it was great to have met you, Mr.…?”

“Cisco. Ramon.” He shook his hand. “You as well. The major here will escort you back.”

“Thanks.”

“He was very nice, Daddy,” Bart said, jumping up onto his toes as he clutched his dad’s hand.

Barry smirked.

“You’re just saying that because he liked my book.”

Bart’s eyes sparkled, and Barry came to a stop. Nora kept walking and jumped into the truck, waiting for them.

“You look just like your mother when you look at me like that.” He tousled his hair. “Little slugger.”

“Guys! Come on!” Nora shouted, whining a little.

Barry smiled at her, then tugged down on his son’s hat.

“Let’s go. We’ll set up the tent.”

Theodora Thawne would recognize any version of the person she was meant to replace. But she found herself, smacked with a hundred different confusing emotions - and not even the familiar feeling of rage could center her. Bea.

Flashes of hugs, punches, screams, cries - all of it swirled and pressed itself in her mind and left her breathless. The first draw of blood. The first smile. Hate, love, deception, and a body broken beneath her, barely drawing breath as she collasped, unable to do anything but fail. Was the brief glimpse, the barest touch of love, ever meant to mean failure?

So she stood there, eyes wide and somewhat frozen as she waited for Bart Allen's reaction.

Bart also stopped dead in his tracks, he hadn't obsessed other Thad, thats what he would say at least, but it was hard to nkt recognize a version of someone who haunted almost every nightmare, even the ones that weren't about him, he waited behind the corner, waiting for Bart to die so he could do something horrible with his identity.

Bart's expression hardened, for a brief moment Bart stood still, in a wide eyed glare, but the next moment, at a speed that even for a fellow sperdster would be considered fast he grabed her clothes callor.

"What do you what, Thwane?" He sniped.

Hay imagine if Tai Pham met, Damian Wayne, Jon Kent and Bart Allen how do you imagine their relationships being? Personally here's how I imagine their relationships:

Damian and Tai: similar to Bruce Wayne's and hal Jordan's.

Jon and Tai: on good terms and good friend.

I think Damian and Tai would be a lot like early Super Sons Damian and Jon, Dami annoyed by the unprofessionalism and trying to give orders, Tai being like "uh and who are you again?" and enjoying teasing the overly uptight Damian. I think they'll learn to respect each other and also I like the idea of them drawing together and like giving tips in a totally unjudgemental way like it's the one time they can really tell each other what to do without it being a HUGE battle of the wills

Jon and Tai, yeah I feel like there'd be a lot of flight races who can go faster, does Tai go faster if he's just fly or if he's in a Green energy fighter jet? can Jon smash through this wall? what about this bigger green wall? Jon seems the most likely to put on his glasses and meet Tai's other friends, have a misadventure about them getting jelly about Tai having super friends etc

Bart and Tai, oh man, I think Bart would rub Tai the wrong way at first. Bart is A LOT a lot, he'd be all over Tai "what this!" "wow ring!" "have you ever made a 100 bunnies before?" he's say something about Tai's costume maybe put the flap over his head while asking why it's different from the other GL's and does he know Alan Scott? I think Tai would learn to love Bart and Bart would make him laugh, but I can totally see a rocky start there.

The Flash Season 8 Finale Breakdown & Review

To say that the CW’s “hit” show The Flash has an audience hanging on by a thread at this point is nothing short of the truth.

I have loved this show wholefully ever since its 3rd season debuting over 5 years ago. So I am not saying I suddenly switched up with my thoughts on it from amazing to utter garbage, but I am also not saying that going in that direction wouldn’t be inaccurate.

Look, The Flash is a good show with good characters and stories, but lately is has been very bland and dim under the light that it once shined upon.

With the season 8 finale having released a week ago, here are my thoughts on if the conclusion to this 20 episode season did it justice.

This season finale was very intense from surprises and moments that I was not expecting.

So of course the main villian was our favorite evil speedster Eobard Thawne, also known as the Reverse Flash. Only this time he was not alone, as he was accompanied by some new friends of his, the negative forces.

The Negative Forces have the same vendetta as Thawne does, and that is to kill Barry Allen. The negative forces help Thawne fulfill is goal, as is theirs to kill Barry, by drawing all their power into Thawne, dawning a black new suit, with the powers of all 4 forces (speed, strength, time, and sage).

Meanwhile in the lives of the good guys, Barry also has killing on his mind, due to Thawne killing Iris so he can be reborn again for like the 6th time throughout the show.

Cecile of course becomes annoying with eavesdropping on Barry emotions by telling him that he shouldn’t let his rage get the better of him, and that the rest of team Flash believes that Iris is alive.

Iris is in fact alive, hiding away in the time stone after the time particles were transferred back into Thawne in the previous episode. While trapped in the time stone, Iris meets an old friend, that in Damien Dahrk.

Dahrk explains to Iris that she is not trapped in the stone, and can easily escape it if she tethers herself to the little spark of lightning that her and Barry have that signifies their universal love for each other.

After all the side plots of the episodes, we go back to Thawne terrorizing the city in his black suit. Barry, Bart, Nora, and Meena, all run in to save the day, as at this point they are all feeling vengeful against Thawne for his reprehensible acts.

After Thawne gets the chance to solo Barry in a one on one, the battle is on, but not until the positive forces are revived back to life thanks to Ceciles pyschic powers to tap into the forces to bring them back.

The positive forces find it only fair that Barry and Thawne fight match and match, as they give Barry their powers to compare with Thawne. Now, the battle begins.

Racing through the city, and now with their wide array of powers, they throw lightning, drop planes, teleport all over the place, causing another Armageddon in the city.

Upon Iris returning back home, she requests Jay Garrick to take her to Barry to stop him from causing all thisndestrcution in the city.

Barry realizes that they shouldn’t tip the scales of universal balance to stop one another, and sits own to meditate to defeat Thawne like the goat he is.

Thawne does not care and begins to unleash a wave of negative speed force lightning all over the city, destroying everything and everyone. Barry’s meditation works more effectively, and seemingly reverses time and implodes Thawnes power on himself, finally killing him for good.

The day is saved once again, but more mysteries are to be solved, as we are taken into a lab showing an interesting blue crystal being stabilized on a desk, now leaving many theories open on the table.

Overall, I underwhelmingly enjoyed this season finale. It defintely wrapped up the season nicely with all its stories, but I would have to give it a 7 out of 10 because of the poor writing, and Cecile just existing.

Once again, I liked it, but excluding the parts with Cecile because she is an annoyance as much as she is psychic now (and she is very psychic now).

Thawne finally dying after all these years gives the show such a new creative direction, because they don’t have to keep using Thawne as its backbone anymore. They can finally move on to different things, new things.

I am interested to see how season 9 will play out in the first few episodes, as I would assume they would follow the events of season 8, and jump directly into the new storyline they have planned.

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

Mm, okay, so going off all my works - including WIPS, I'm a sucker for angst. More than a few of my friends are aware that I'll just come up with frankly insane story ideas to do the absolute most damage. But I also love, well, love. My posted works as far as fanfiction goes (primarily DC, aside from the scattering of some Voltron and Monster stuff) are definitely aligned more towards romance and happy endings. And I'm a sucker for civilian and heroes, but even more so for villains and heroes as romance.

Maybe for specifics like, hiding the truth? Like one partner is the enemy, or affiliated in some way, and is hiding that because they're scared of losing the other. Their feelings are real, but their SO can't be sure when they find out the truth from someone else.

Also hanaki disease - but I haven't written any. Yet.

❌ What's a trope you will never write?

Solid question, but honestly I don't know. There's none that I can really name off the top of my head as far as tropes go? Like, I very much fall under DLDR, so if I'm not interested in something I won't even ever towards it (unless really desperate for content). But I can't really think of any.

💞 Who's your comfort character?

As far as OCs go - my character Osiyira/Wisteria. It used to be Nyumara (she's more for drawing, Wisteria is more for writing).

As far as actual characters? Bart Allen. 100%. Wow, I have written so much fanfiction including him, so many won't ever be posted. But even looking at my DC fanfic blog (@dickmedowndc ) you can tell I have the most involving him. Including one that's like, 12k, roughly, I think.

What’s it like dating a superhero? Ooh, is that gelato? We should get a gelato maker. Have you been to the Batcave? How’d you figure out you like this guy? How do you know who he is? Batman doesn’t let him tell anyone. Did Robin really rescue you from being sacrificed or was he just trying to sound cool? Because it sounded really cool, like sexy action movie cool, and last week he spent twenty minutes practising witty one liners in front of a mirror in his cape and underwear, so we all know he’s not cool. Have you had sex in the Batcave? Do you-”

Tim clapped his hand over Bart’s mouth and pinned his head against his chest. “If you stop talking right now, I will order us a gelato maker. Deal?” His friend squeaked with delight behind his hand and nodded. “Sorry, Bee. I’m still trying to housebreak this one.” 

I reworked my plot outline specifically to include more Bart. Because he is a precious bean and deserves it.

SO as ive said in another ask, core four changing for other identities in this AU would happen after a big fight with their mentors as a whole which is mostly triggered by cassie being angry at  batman and superman for how they treat tim and conner seFJSFEJOFSEJ anyway .

they do not want a visual connection to their respective hero families, and they’re growing up from the kid/boy/girl/robin stuff.

• BART ALLEN becomes Mercury . This is both in reference to Max Mercury who was his mentor and is, not here anymore, and a reference to the roman god (hermed in greek) who was the god messenger and was known to be fast.

• CONNER KENT becomes Atlas. this is in reference to the Titan with the same name, said to be the titan of endurance. he’s supposed to be holding the actual Earth on his shoulders, which i thought was a nice symbol that wasnt just, hope and strenght ? there is more to this titan’s story, but this is the bit that i’m keeping.

• TIM DRAKE becomes Strix. a strix in mythology was a bird of ill omen. in its first appearance in texts, it could be both an owl or a bat which i think is really cool for tim !!! there are a lot of stories about strix being vampires, but there is another one in russia about them being ghosts that are still visible after their death. which i think is interresting bc in this AU tim stays a long time in mr oz’s/jor-el’s prisons and he’s mostly left alone and he kind of goes crazy bc he’s alone with his thoughts and at some point he’s not sure he’s alive :D !

• CASSANDRA SANDSMARK becomes Alekto. Alekto (the unceasing/the implacable anger in ancient greek) was a figure of greek mythos, one of the erinyes (or furies). they were deities of vengeance, alekto dealing with moral “crimes” (crimes of anger is the one ive seen quoted the most). she also has a link with war, as one of the stories in the aneid by virigil tells how she causes the trojan’s downfall through war. which is especially interesting for cassie as she is ares’s champion on earth, whos the god of war hehe.
