wait i don't get what you mean about wiggly and how he pronounces names
ah! i just mean the emphasis is usually on the wrong syllables, it sounds unnatural and almost forced? In Black Friday (and nightmare time) for instance, talking to Hannah, they pronounce it like "ha-NAH" and in NPMD he puts equal emphasis on each syllable in "Ste-pha-nie" in a way that sounds kind of off kilter. Especially after the comment about "holding court in your own form and tongue" it felt so much like someone or something trying to grasp a language that isn't familiar to it at all or seems trivial to it which makes sense for something eldritch and above it all. I love so many of the choices Jon made for how he played Wiggly/Wiggog!

Jason and Cass both preplan their grocery runs, down to planning out an in-store route, but for different reasons.
Jason cannot be in a crowd, he's overwhelmed assessing everyone's threat level and minding his exit strategy, plus everyone is So Loud and there are Kids, he's keeping an iron control of himself not to listen to the intrusive thoughts about how he can turn the store into a blood bath, he needs to be Out and Fast
Cass is overwhelmed by choice, there are So Many things Everywhere, and while she can tune out people (and is very comfortable in a crowd) the Items are what's overwhelming, there are So many things and she needs to find what's the Best thing (although in practice she doesn't really care she will eat it nonetheless), there have been times where she's panicked a little and grabbed like ten cans of green beans and walked out, so making a list down to the brand is a Must

Paul: I'll have the number 8.
Waiter: That's a party platter. It serves 12 people.
Paul: Yeah, I know that’s why I’m ordering it.
Waiter: You’re sharing with 12 people?
Paul: No, it’s for just me.

If you’re still doing the prompts maybe 16. "Urgh. Definitely not." with Hemmer in a comedy?
Thanks if you do! And no problem if you don’t :)

Setting Him Up
Prompts
Tumblr media
"Urgh. Definitely not." You'd never heard him make that noise before, a cruel sound of disgust from the back of his throat. You near giggled, kinda wheezed.
"You're that disgusted?" He twitches, brows furrowing for not even a second. You worry you've made him mad.
"I do not understand the endeavor to... have me 'shack up' with Chappell." You blink rapidly.
"No, no. A certain someone—er well, not a certain someone— well. Er. Someone said you needed 'some', okay. And I— they came to me? About it? And I think they wanted me to solve the problem?"
"I'm not that grumpy, am I?" Hemmer looks less disgusted, and less scary. Instead, his antenna hang lower and he's leaning, face incredulous.
"Well," you start. "You are pretty uptight." You give a helpless shrug, attempting to seem apologetic. He just blinks a few times with a slight roll of his head, showing his displeasure.
"Is there anyone you are interested in?" He immediately slumps, obviously upset with the continued questioning. "Do you even want to be in a relationship?"
Hemmer doesn't take long to think about it, just gives a little smile and a huff out his nose. "I definitely do not need to be set up. Especially with lower ranking officers."
You hum, palm under your chin. "Strict rules on that shit." You mutter in his direction.
"That 'shit' keeps quite a few people safe." You jump to attention, the words sharp but his tone steady.
"Didn't mean it like that, sorry."
He hums, "I wouldn't expect it of you, do not worry" He gives you a nod that is obviously an apology. You nod back.
Your conversation. On him being set up.
"So you don't need my help?" You reaffirm.
He nods, with a sigh a bit too sassy to mean anything other than "duh".
You laugh, short and breathy. He sighs again, but he's smiling.
"What about a relationship? Not purely sexual?"
Hammer makes a face. "What?"
"Would a... relationship. With me. Be okay?"
Hemmer doesn't hesitate. "Yes."
You breathe. "Okay."

Ok so I want to talk about this scene in particular, because I love it so much and feel like every time I watch it I learn some kind of new insight into Pete, and I think it foreshadows a lot of the future vegaspete moments (which--STAY WITH ME I know my brain rot is showing ok, I KNOW but it’s good I promise)
So the first thing I notice about this scene every time I watch it is how visibly uncomfortable Porsche is. Not only do we as the audience, who know Porsche’s motivations for wanting to witness this moment, and who get to see those fun flashbacks, know that he’s uncomfortable, but I think it’s clear to the other three in the room that Porsche is Not Having A Good Time. When Kinn’s determined that this is no longer a productive learning experience for Porsche, he calls out to Pete and signals for Pete to go with him outside. THIS IS EXTREMELY FASCINATING TO ME, because I think Kinn knows (HE KNOWS) that, in addition to basically being his bestie, Pete is probably the most empathic of all his men (he’s been tankhun’s babysitter without complaint for how long?), and that Porsche probably needs someone to talk him through whatever’s going on in his head.
Up until this point, and in only three episodes I might add, we see multiple different occasions where Pete shows a deep emotional understanding of the people around him in ways no one else does. This comes in the form of him 1) not immediately ostracizing Porsche because he’s the bratty new guy, and instead taking him under his wing; this is significant because he’s THE ONLY ONE in the main house who doesn’t give Porsche any attitude, or treat him like he’s the gum stuck to the bottom of their shoe like everyone else does. 2) He’s the only bodyguard who is visibly uncomfortable when Tankhun is punishing Porsche with the mermaid costume AND is the only one who speaks up on Porsche’s behalf (T: Give him a treat! P:...that’s enough. He didn’t mean to). 3) Despite disagreeing with Thankhun’s punishment, he STILL feels obligated to educate Porsche on the trauma he endured as a reason for his “absurd” behavior. His interpretation of TK’s behaviors, and the rest of the family’s for that matter, also demonstrate just how perceptive he is. 4) OBVIOUSLY the scene in ep 2 where he stops Porsche from trying to beat Kinn’s ass after getting choked out. In this scene, it’s clear he’s taken the time to analyze the situation from Kinn’s perspective, or at least that he’s spent time thinking about how difficult things were/are for Kinn (“He used to love his people. The reason he became cruel was not totally on him”) and the fact that he doesn’t just blurt out Kinn’s secret in that moment speaks to his character, I think. I could go into even greater detail here, but I’ve already let this get out of hand, and its not even the main point I’m trying to make in this post.
SO PETE TAKES HIM OUTSIDE on Kinn’s order, right? This is where the ENTIRE conversation takes an incredible turn towards vegaspete foreshadowing for me. And Yes, it’s a conversation about Porsche and what he’s going through, but I think it’s important to acknowledge the double purpose its serving (which, bravo to the writers for that) and how at their cores Porsche and Vegas are going through very similar things. It’s also an important conversation because it reveals some truths that I think are important to remember when we think about how Pete could have fallen for Vegas despite him being his captor (and aside from him just being a really empathetic dude).
Porsche begins their impromptu therapy session with “He must really have no way out. That’s why he’s acting stupid.” Porsche is obviously saying this about the man they’re extorting, but then he relates it to his own experience with debt collectors “I know it very well, that having no way out can really make you do anything.” Immediately!!! I was thinking ‘you know who acts real stupid a lot, because he’s trapped in his family’s cycle of violence? Vegas.’ I digress. This scene is a turning point for Porsche in particular. He makes his first kill, yes, but that’s just meant to really bring home the realization he’s having that life isn’t as black and white as he’d always thought it was. Up until this point, Porsche has always seen himself the Victim of debt collectors, and he viewed them as an unnecessary evil (it’s not his fault his uncle gambles away all of their money!). It is at this point when he finds himself, the Victim, the Good Guy, with no choice but to become the Evil Debt Collector. Sometimes there is no choice. Sometimes the Good Guy must do a bad thing in order to survive. Things are more often stuck in a gray area than they are just good or just evil. “I never thought that I’d be like one of them today,” he says. This leaves him smack dab center in a moral gray area, and so clearly reeling from the realization. (he tries to save himself and stay The Good Guy when he tries to talk the guy down, but the guy shooting anyways forces him to instead acknowledge this truth once and for all.)
BACK TO VEGASPETE: Pete quietly lets Porsche say his piece in its entirety, and then gives a response that shows he’s understood this to be a universal truth for a long time. “We’re just teaching him a lesson,” is his first response. He doesn’t try to justify their actions, nor is he attempting in any way to reframe their situation in a way that makes them out to be either Good or Bad guys. If he did, he’d be playing into a narrative he doesn’t believe, and as we know, “theres no legacy as rich as honesty.” Instead, he goes on to give the one of the most iconic lines of the series: “There’s no heroes nor villains in this world.” Heroes being the paragon of all things good, and villains symbolizing all things evil. This certainly has broader implications for the series as a whole, but for vegaspete, it goes to show that Pete never looked at Vegas and saw villain. It’s more likely he saw him for what he was at his core: a broken man lashing out at a world that refused to love him despite his best efforts. He saw all of Vegas’ actions, not as isolated evil incidents, but as reactions to things around him and the way the people who were supposed to love him treated him. It’s also why it’s believable that he believed in Vegas’ capability to do good and love when he saw the way he treated the hedgehog. Animals often love unconditionally. Animals also cannot judge you or your motivations the way humans can. Pete saw Vegas loving the only living thing that ever loved him back, and he knew Vegas was simply the product of his environment and circumstances.

you have big brain fhdw thoughts and I am curious so I will ask:
What is your most favorite aspect of the series and your least favorite? Why?
Shit I completely forgot to answer this ask LMAO. My favorite aspects of the books are honestly just the world building and how Brandon Mull introduces incredibly compelling ideas for his stories and characters. My least favorite part is how he doesn't fucking use them!!! He'll introduce the most interesting thing ever in the story and then be like. Oh yea lol. Thats never gonna come up again. ❤️❤️❤️ hope you dont mind.
He also has admitted that he doesn't reread his books and like. You can tell lol. He constantly contradicts his pre-established lore and some characters will just. Not act like themselves out of nowhere. Anyways I really love fablehaven even if it doesnt seem like it sometimes LMAO I just like talking about these things

thinking about how mike's supposed reason he can't tell el he loves her is because he's not special, just some nerd, etc
but we also see mike at the beginning of s4 being very comfortable being a nerd by participating in hellfire club, idolizing eddie, telling lucas "did it ever occur to you we don't care about being popular?"
and when he tells will in the van scene all his difficulties telling el what she wants to hear, it doesn't exactly seem like he's upset about it. or he is upset, as in realizing he's made a mistake, but doesn't seem to wish he was able to? it seems to me like the beginning of self acceptance, an overarching theme of Mike starting to become more comfortable with himself by realizing he doesn't need to be special/popular/get the girl.
it's /will/ who tries to convince him otherwise because he misunderstands how mike feels about the situation
i think that's also why mike seems both heartened and a little upset in the van scene. here he is, trying to tell his best friend that he's started to feel differently about the relationship he's been in since he was like 12 and that he's ready to distance himself, but then will is pushing him back towards it.

I see all these ghost/ghost Pokémon Ingo reunion aus. Love me some angst but WHAT IF. Light hearted ghost au. Ghost au with MINIMAL angst. Sounds impossible BUT HEAR ME OUT.
Akari/Dawn has already returned to her own time. Ingo, having no memory of his origins, decides to stay in Hisui, the only home he’s ever known. Maybe Arceus didn’t even give Akari the option to return Ingo as well. Arceus is a bitch.
Starts how these normally go. Ingo dies in Hisui. Not in some gruesome way or even out with a bang in some high-stakes Pokémon battle like those who know him might expect. He just. Gets sick one day and without modern medicine he doesn’t get better. He passes in the night.
Giratina feels guilty about causing Ingo to fall into the rift under Volo’s command all those years ago. They’re misguided, but a good boy. While they can’t bring him back to life, they can still help him reunite with his brother. They take Ingo’s soul and transport him to the distortion world, where they allow his spirit to form. Due to the properties of the distortion world, it forms quickly. Ingo is understandably confused when he regains consciousness, but Giratina is quick to explain and apologize for causing Ingo’s predicament in the first place. Ingo of course doesn’t remember, which reminds Giratina.
“Oh yeah, this dude is no thoughts head empty. Oops.”
Once Ingo is at full (ghostly) strength, Giratina returns his memories as a gift.
Ingo is of course immediately frantic. Emmet! He has to get back to Emmet! How could he have forgotten? He must return to his original station!
Giratina calms him down and regretfully tells him that they can’t actually send him forward in time without tearing open another rift, even as a spirit. However, they explain, that doesn’t mean Ingo will never see Emmet again. There’s a difference between a normal ghost and a ghost formed in the distortion world. Not only are they particularly powerful spirits, but they can also directly interact with the physical plane. He will not fade, nor will his consciousness or memories deteriorate over time, so long as he occasionally returns to the distortion world to ‘recharge’. Ingo can wait out the few hundred years between now and the day he disappeared.
Giratina expects Ingo to be upset by the admittedly terrible compromise, but is pleasantly surprised by an elated BRAVO and many pets and scritches. Ingo can see that the godly Pokémon is doing its best, and that it didn’t HAVE to help him. Good Pokémon deserve praise and treats!!! Giratina is not used to being treated in such a way, and as a result immediately grows attached to Ingo. The human is kind and caring even after learning that it was the reason he was uncoupled from his twin! Ingo unknowingly becomes a god’s best friend.
Giratina explains a few more things about Ingo’s new ‘life’ as a ghost before sending him on his way. Ingo promises to visit sometime with treats and stories of his travels, much to the god’s delight. For such a fearsome and intimidating Pokémon, Giratina is verry adorable when it wiggles happily. Wormy boy.
With Giratina’s blessing, Ingo returns to Hisui. While he can be seen by and interact with the living, Ingo decides to let the clans believe him dead. It would be much harder to leave otherwise.
After all, he has the whole world to explore and literal centuries to do so! He wants to see it all. He wants to be able to share wondrous things with his brother once they meet again.
(Unfortunately for Emmet, Ingo’s impeccable sense of time seems to have escaped him after the first century or two. A few months late is better than never, right?)

Curious to hear your thoughts on where they would have taken Ainsley's character in a s3? Because all hours are missing Ainsley Whitley hours for me.
oh great question! I think they would have continued on the "prodigal daughter" arc but a lot of it depends on if martin lived or not. if he lived I could imagine her feeling some resentment towards malcolm for killing him, because she feels that she wanted to spend more time with him (not that she doesn't understand malcolm was acting in self defense, but I think she'd still feel conflicted because she lost her father). if martin lived I think they'd continue her seeking out his advice and maybe go the path of ainsley turning into a serial killer herself? tbh I wouldn't WANT that plotline but based on the direction the show was going I feel that is the most logical conclusion. hmmm what do you think? I just wish we got a season 3 I miss the everyone on the show :(

Question time (feel free to answer! Like fr, pls answer this lol)
Do you guys have any character (this is more related to TMNT) that instead of feeling good by seeing yourself in them, you feel the opposite?
I’m a twin (and we were also color coded! I’m the red / warm colors twin, and my sister is the blue / cool colors twin - although I call dibs on purple) and surprise surprise, I kinda have some resemblances with Raph (personality wise, not that I’m a LOT like him, ctrl c ctrl v, but some stuff is there, and funny enough some of leos personality traits shows in my sister’s personality) Usually what Raph struggles the most on the TMNT media or Headcanons is what I struggle or have struggled in the past, I’ve learned to keep it in or cool down along the years, but yeah, deep down we have a lot in common, ldk why instead of feeling comfortable with him, i feel the opposite. I feel if I could actually meet him, we would fight / argue a lot lolz. But don’t get me wrong, I love him and adore his… complexity. But idk, out of all x reader content, hes the last one I read, I don’t “dare” to dive in too much in his stories, cuz I see more myself in him than at reader sometimes, and the amount of angst this boys goes is just oof (I adore rottmnt Raph tho, he has my whole heart)
Do you guys feel that towards other turtles or characters? Don’t consume some content because it can rub you off or make you a bit uncomfy?
