Reading for others and Selling your Readings
Tumblr media
So, you want to start reading for others and possibly selling your readings? Well you came to the right place. This post piggy backs off a google class I created on my discord pages, and today I will be going over tips and tricks for success and how to start making a side hustle out of divination! This is going to be a very tarot forward post, however this can be integrated into really any form of divination, the interview process for example is not reserved for only tarot and oracle cards! Big note: Make sure you are aware of your countries, state, and county laws revolving around divination. In some places its still illegal and criminalized and there is no point going to jail over this. Instead its best to raise awareness and talk to your local representatives about the issue.
The slides we will be using today
Part One: Knowing
The first section is all about getting started, and most great readers I can think of have 3 key things they recommened
Know your deck - What this means is actually taking the time to interview your deck and get to know its strengths, limitations, and how it will connect to your readings. When you understand your tarot cards voice, you are better able to apply messages for other people.
How do I interview my deck? To design an interview you need to create a spread that answers a few questions like "what are your strengths and weaknesses", "How do you prefer to speak to me?" and "How can I best listen and apply your advice?" Optionally it is always good to add sections asking the deck if it can read for other people, if it can read on the divine, and if it can process information that is changing.
Tumblr media
My personal favorite is the one I am listing below.
Tumblr media
2. Knowing your skills - This section is all about identifying your own strengths and weaknesses. Do you not really dabble in spirit work so you cant do spirit ID's? do you work with a trickster god so your decks often go missing? Do you simply just hate doing love readings and they bring you agony? All of these things are really valid, and its good to be honest with yourself. Start by picking out types of readings you enjoy, readings you maybe don't love or aren't skilled at yet, and then readings you just wont do. The ones in the middle category can always be worked on and expanded you may find you love them, but the ones that you just hate doing don't have to come at a cost just be honest and not offer them as a service. Another major aspect is personal associations to cards, Its important that as your using divination to make notes of personal associations you have to things, or how you interpret art on the card. This can help you better connect readings to your skills and give a more unique experience
3. Knowing your client - this is important simply for a marketing standpoint. If you are really good at deity readings it may be better to advertise your work on deity related servers rather than just spiritual ones. If you are a jack of all trades that may be vice versa. When you nail down the readings you love and hate doing you start to learn where you can successfully advertise to attract people who love the readings you do
Some important things and tips I can give as a tarot reader is to trust your intuition, and understand your skill level. When it comes to intuition some of the biggest blocks I see people have is "Well the reading isn't resonating with my spirit like usual" and its actually a really common thing! When people are transitioning to read for other people we become so used to getting that intuitive feeling that the cards just 'fit' but because the reading isn't *for* us we get an uncomfortable empty feeling or second guess ourselves. Have faith that your intuition is still working, just not on your behalf. Relax! If the client lets you know that it didn't resonate that's ok! Its a learning opportunity, it just means you have to re-look at the cards to find details you may have missed. With that also said, sometimes you are going to get a gut feeling that something is just not right, it will be different than that empty feeling or the little nagging self doubt voice. It usually comes as a whisper, a hand tremble, or sharpness in your spine that lets you know to redraw the card.
Another big thing that follows up with the third point is about your own skill level. The reason why there is so much emphasis on it is because your level will determine what readings you do, how much you charge for them, and how long it will take you to preform the reading. Its important that you are charging appropriately for practices, disclosing when you are new to something, or when you just aren't comfortable doing a type of reading for someone yet. It is always ok to say 'no' especially when a reading is out of your skill range.
Another really big thing to this is Practice, like I mentioned about finding your skill level so that leads me to another point:
Where can I go to find people to practice on?
In most cases, if you are a person of the internet you have a ton of options! There are dozens of discord servers and forums where you can practice your skills with people willing to trade or looking for free readings. Its best to avoid places like Instagram, tic tok, or amino for the time being because those places are more for building up a business rather than seeking out people to practice with. This is mainly because you will likely get overwhelmed with people trying to get free readings out of you, and servers usually have moderators that can help protect the peace while you are still learning.
A big thing I see is also about how to source tools for divination, lets say your in the broom closet and want to practice giving tarot readings but cant use physical cards, you can offer up readings using a digital deck (just make sure to disclose that) and get your practice in that way.
Part Two: Planning
Lets look at the aspects of giving a reading, We need to remember that for a lot of people divination is not only just an aspect of their spirituality but also a business for a lot of people. Some of the best readers I know actually aren't spiritual at all, but give such quality readings because they chose the study the psychology behind giving a reading. On the flip side, some of the best readings I have ever received was when the person was in tune with me spiritually, and got to know my beliefs as a client. It is a fine line for most people, and what makes these groups one in the same is they both took the time to really break in their practice, and see divination like an art form.
What are some things to note on the spiritual side?
Spiritually, we as readers are taking the time to use our tools to connect to the other side. Whether you believe tarot reads on paths, futures, or simply psychology, it can be a spiritual experience overall. I want it to be known even a complete atheist can still enjoy giving and practicing with divination, because at the end of the day you don't have to be any "type" of spiritual to practice.
Divination can be used to help other people through problems by offering another perspective, and as a reader that is a really fulfilling thing! Its nice when we can help others to see things they cant yet. Its also exciting to engage with the different questions a human can be faced with about life. As a reader there are so many beautiful solutions to problems, and divination can help with that!
Most commonly sold methods: Tarot, Oracle, and Runes
Most common services (as of 2022): Love readings, Yes/No questions, Deity and spirit questions
Ethical considerations and quirks are an important thing to cultivate as a reader. Its important to figure out where your ethics lie. Are you comfortable reading on a third party? Are you comfortable doing blind readings? What sort of things can you offer that would make you unique? As a general rule of thumb, its good to plan this out while you practice to see if anything is invoked in you. As you research different styles of readings you may find preset ethical takes online, some you will vibe with, others you will not. Take the information and evaluate it as you practice. Another big thing is confidentiality, if a reading begins to expose a deeper thing its best to talk to your client or leave it be if it isn't an immediate cause for concern.
Note: sometimes you get some seriously sick people asking for readings, confidentiality is great, however if someone is breaking the law or confessing a crime to you it is a good idea to stay calm, and report it to law enforcement if you can. It gets really difficult if the person is in another country and you are just reading online, but you can still pass it on to law enforcement who can possibly notify that countries police system. Above all else: If someone is making you feel uncomfortable you have every right to say no, block them, and move on. If it is someone physically with you like at a school or workplace setting who is making you uncomfortable, you have every right to deny service and seek out someone higher up who can help create distance between you and the other person. safety comes first.
What are some things to note on the business side?
On the business side, not only are we assisting other people, however we are also assisting ourselves. It is amazing when we can take something that brings us so much joy and use it to help turn a profit. When you begin actually selling your readings, you will come to find that a lot of math and marketing is involved like calculating where you want to be, how much to charge per card, how much to charge for other practices, how to market yourself to the world, its all things we have to factor when we are trying to make a side hustle out of this. Above all else, take care of you first! Make sure that you are keeping your energy and mental health in mind as you go through this journey
Average Pricings: $1-2 per card when first starting, averaging $3-4 a card, and on the high end some readers charge up to $17 per card. Usually pricings for spreads start at $5 per 3 cards, $10 per 10 cards, and $20 upcharges for voice chat or in person sessions. The average in person tarot reader will charge $70 per 45 min session
Average market: Highest money comes from tic tok, facebook, and instagram
Average Demographic: Usually within the ages of 23-35, mainly metropolitan areas
Tumblr media
What are some things that makes a reader unique?
Style - Having a style or theme when it comes to how you present your readings is a wonderful thing. It not only makes you more recognizable, but it also draws clients in who are curious
Presentation - How you actually present your readings is important. If you are physically speaking to someone laying your cards so its facing the client adds a special touch, if you are trying to layer paragraphs online making sure they look cohesive with correct grammar and paragraph indentation is amazing
Timing - How long you can produce readings and with how much information can be used to set you apart from other readers. Plenty of readers upcharge for 'same day' readings, or charge more for blind readings because more intuition is being used
Extras - If you are willing to provide extras, online you can create custom spreads, crystal grid photos that represent the readings, or physically offer candy or for the client to pick their own deck
Personality - Having good customer service can apply to readings too, establishing your unique personality to a client is wonderful. Whether your setting up a 'no-nonsense' vibe or are smiling ear to ear, you can connect it to the deck the client vibes the most with.
Options - Providing options and some sort of consultation phase is a great way to start a dialogue between you and your client, giving plenty of room to ask questions and be honest about what's going on sets a really good mood for both of yall.
Examples:
Tumblr media
Part Three: Doing
In this section we will be going over the most important things to remember while we are practicing, growing, and learning.
Always remember:
Your boundaries - The things you are willing and not willing to read on
Trends - What readings are the most profitable right now, why? Do you want to partake in them or not?
Clients - What types of clients do you tend to get? Do they tend to prefer a specific reading or style? Do you tend to get returning business or mainly one-off readings?
Where you promote - Where you promote is what you attract, so keep surveying the data analytics for what is most popular. For example: Psychics in Vegas tend to get the most skeptic readings, Beverly hills gets the most amount of pet readings, and Instagram pages tend to offer love readings the most
A big tip I have for new readers are on 3 things, time, spirits, and progress. When it comes to time make sure you are picking ways to charge for everything whether its VC, text, or in house, make sure you aren't running your clock and have methods to lead a conversation if a client is taking up a lot of time with stories that don't exactly apply. Next when it comes to spirits and deities it is important that you wait on those types of readings until you have protections and adequate research on different types of deities and spirits as to not possibly bring danger to yourself, clients, and are giving accurate information that preserves the cultures these being originate from. Finally when it comes to progress I recognize that it can be hard learning to say no, developing a back bone, and wanting to do more with your readings, just ride the wave as it comes! This takes time and I promise the more you work on your skills the more likely you are to succeed. Just make sure you are always honest with your clients and with yourself when you need to take a break.
What are some bad habits people should avoid?
Over cleansing - Sometimes we create this idea that you need to be triple cleansing in between each and every client, but in actuality this can create fatigue on our decks. Its kind of like showers: Some people shower daily just to get the gunk off, but they might not wash their hair or use a scrub every single shower because it strips the good oils from our hair and skin. Tarot can be the same, over cleansing it can strip it of energy. Its best to talk to your cards, have a charging station at the ready, and keep tabs on how they are feeling
overbooking - If you are currently enrolled in school full time, or have a full time job, it isn't realistic to take every single client at all hours of the day, that is the fastest way to divination burn out. Stager out clients between your real world schedule and set up a system that gives you time to transition.
Overdoing - Don't offer more than you can put out. Don't promise to do a 15 card spread in 30 min if you know your readings take longer. Don't offer freebies willy nilly because then it becomes an expectation. Make sure that you are properly valuing your work based off how long it takes you to create that product. At the end of the day you are offering a service, treat it like such!
Final Words
The divination community is an incredibly vast one that features all sorts of people, businesses, and more. Relax! This journey is a rewarding one, don't take it so serious that you start to fall apart. Have faith in your ability to research and practice, and as you grow don't hesitate to start finding communities that can help you grow as a reader.
Another big thing to watch out for is the rampant scam community. often times we see 'readers' come along who either make up some story about an ancestor leading them to you, someone cursing you for no reason, etc and making you foot the bill for their services. Or you get people who pretend to be tarot mentors and instead will copy paste things from biddy tarot while you pay 100 bucks a month. Be aware of people who are looking to take advantage of you, if it looks to good to be true it probably is. Be careful out there!
With all that said, I hope you all enjoyed this post, if you have any questions or comments feel free to drop them below. Thank you! Fair winds travelers

Let’s talk about •••
Tumblr media
••• Spirit Work
Pt.1/2
• Spirit Work 101
Spirit Work is a term that was coined very recently, mostly having an upsurge with the new age witchcraft in social medias - that is not to say that the practice of communicating with spirits is new, rather, that such a term can be used in an overgeneralized manner. That in turn leads to misinformation about the topic.
•• So, what is Spirit Work?
Broadly, it is seen as a witchcraft practice where a person uses their abilities to communicate with spirits - people who have passed, guides, ancestors and such. What the term doesn’t clarify is that there are a multitude of ways in doing that, from religious practices to self developed methods as well as the target audience of that spirit work.
Taking a look at the word spirit we find the first divergence of intent: those stated before all fall in the category of deceased human spirits; then we have those who through their animistic or similar beliefs include the spirits of animals and all beings (and “things”) who once lived. Then, we have another category, those that communicate with the otherworldly and nature centred beings that have passed (though most commonly those are still alive), such as the Fae. Others include communication with deities in this practice, and lastly, we have another modality of those that work with the essence of spirits, be they dead or alive - they are included for they too have soul. • This is the first break, and as such themes and different styles of practitioners can already be found, most commonly used are Mediums, Healers, Channelers, Communicators.
Outside of that, we have believers and followers of certain religions that also have this designated space for that type of communication, though I won’t go into detail for this, Norse Paganism, Spiritism and African Traditional and Descending Religions, are some of them.
••• So, no, it is not a bad thing that this practice has been disseminated and made accessible to all practitioners, witches, pagans and heathens out there - but one must always take a step back and analyze the information they have as well as the intent they will follow in this path.
Spirit Work is no game, it can have serious consequences and that should not discourage you to try - rather, encourage you to be attentive and take it seriously.
• What not to do
This here, at least for me (but feel free to add on or disagree, the beauty of the community are the different methods after all) - are some of the absolute don’ts when practicing Spirit Work, divided in two topics as there is a theoretical and a practical side to it.
• Theoretical
Don’t immediately go following any instructions, no matter if they explicitly are for summoning, inviting or channeling or just imply that it’ll make your communication with spirits easier.
Because: You need to be 100% aware of what exactly you are doing, though there are some good sources, it is always good to double and even triple check ingredients, intents and procedures before starting anything.
Don’t begin anything if you don’t have contingency plans and a way to clear a possible mess up.
Because: When doing this type of work, you are the only thing you have control of - spirits can be volatile, especially if you’re starting communication with ones you never had contact with before. Plan ahead and certify yourself that even if something goes out of what was expected you'll be able to deal with it.
• Practical
Don’t call forth anything that you have no idea what and who exactly it is.
Because: There are opportunistic spirits that excel in impersonating. If your intentions are unclear when channeling or inviting someone or something they can and will take the chance. Be clear about who you are working with.
Don’t be rude or insistent towards spirits.
Because: Spirits deserve respect, and as such, you won’t want to anger an immaterial being just because of impatience. Treat them as you would like to be treated. Being firm doesn’t mean being rude.
Don’t keep your sensitivity channel open, if you can.
Because: The Spirit World is everywhere, and it exists alongside our material World. When working with spirits you’ll see that there are moments you need to distance yourself otherwise the input will be constant. Learn how to control and lock your sensitivity as it is being developed to minimize bothersome encounters or overload of inputs.
Don’t do your Spirit Work in any place - reserve a specific place for it.
Because: Not only is this a sign of respect towards the spirits you’ll be communicating with, but it also makes it easier for you to control, cleanse and protect that environment.
•• How to
Preparation and Protection
After that many Dont´s, we finally go towards the Do´s. Let me get this right, I by nature am extremely paranoid, and due to that I find preparation and protection essential to control variables, be confident and to keep calm - like this, I don’t fear the unknown nor the uncontrollable because one way or another I'm ready for it.
Now, once again, these preparatory and protective steps will depend a lot on what method of Spirit Work you’re practicing, but some of them are pretty universal and these are the one’s I’ll be passing on to you.
• To Prepare
A spirit worker's body and spirit must always be clear, attentive and sensible. To prepare you must do whatever rituals pertain to your practice, that prepare you emotionally, psychologically and spiritually to deal and work with spirits.
This might include meditation, trance work, cleansing rituals and so on - this takes off the layer of mundane impressions that could marr your interpretation and leave you like a clean slate through which the Spirit’s voice can be clearly understood.
Your working space should also be clean on any influencing energies, organized and quiet enough (or loud enough depending on your vertent) for you to focus solely on the presence you’ll be working with.
I particularly find that asking for permission and guidance from my guides always makes this preparation process easier, as that is their realm and their ponctuations, advice and warnings are always welcome.
• Being Protected
There are three points of protection: Your Body (which is the conductor of your energy), Your Mind (which contains your Spirit - though not all beliefs follow this) and Your House (or de place you do your Spirit work).
These three should be duly protected and warded as you see fit before you start your spirit work. Methods for those vary as they can be easily found around the internet, in books and such. I wouldn’t be able to tell you which method of protection and warding you’ll prefer, which you’ll absolutely trust to work and which will be ideal to your specific target audience with spirit work but, one advice: Never share all ingredients nor steps of your protection and warding spells.
You may realize that I rarely, if ever, post spells. The answer is simple: any spell can be counteracted, especially if people know everything you used.
And trust me when I say that these protection and warding spells of your for Spirit Working are ones you wouldn’t like to be tampered with.
•••• 👁 ••••
For now that’s it, this post was very broad as I talked about general warnings and things of importance that precede the practice of Spirit Working. It’ll be a short series of posts, with only two.
The second one will be more action centered, most likely bigger with explanations of what to do in each case of spirit working. Till then, yeah?

He put her through hell the next two weeks and finally, seeing her on the other side of the hospital window, he splintered, leaning forward, unable to breath, overwhelming sorrow manifesting in yelled demands of people who couldn’t answer his pleas.
He thought he was quiet at her bedside that night, the world bearing down on both of them, but as he sobbed into her sheets, he felt her hand drift though his hair, nails lightly scratching scalp, “it might be a little tight, but I think we’ll both fit if we try.”
Mess that he was, he stood, dragged his hands over his face to clear away at least some of the nonsense before disappearing to blow his nose on some toilet paper from the bathroom. Coming back in, he shuffled towards her, whispering, “I snuck in. What if I fall asleep and can’t sneak back out?”
“I’m dying, Mulder. I can do what I want and right now, I want you in here with me.”
Deep breath of acceptance at her now-undeniable retort, he did as ordered, wedging himself behind her, back to front, arm hesitant over her belly, full length curl around her. He could feel her ribs against his forearm, her bony hip under his elbow, sharp shoulder blades pressing his chest, “we need to get you a milkshake.”
“If I could keep one down, I’d send you right now but puking up ice cream will just ruin it.”
“I see your point.” Sniffing latent snot back up his nose, he apologized, then, “I didn’t mean to wake you up.”
Soaking up his warmth like a sponge, “I’m not sleeping that well these days anyway, and …” running off into oblivion, she finished the sentence a moment later, “well, I’d rather spend all the time I can with you, even if it’s at whatever the hell time it is and in a hospital bed.”
“A good cuddle does have its merits.”
That got a smile from her, “thank you.”
“For what?”
This time she found the words she couldn’t after he made her dinner, “for doing all those things that a partner would do; that a husband, a best friend, that family would do.”
Well, that made his heart break for the hundredth time that day, and mouth to neck yet again, his words rustled her hair and vibrated her soul, “well, you are my partner and my best friend, which makes us family and I think I fit the category of work husband so I’ve got all the bases covered.”
Reaching for his hand, she pulled it up to her face, kissing his knuckles before tucking it under her cheek, “we need to talk about a few things.”
“No, we really don’t.”
“Yes, we do. Let me take the fall, please? I need to know you’re okay once I’m gone.”
Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!
“We can have that argument tomorrow. Right now, just let me enjoy this, all right?”
She heard his mental screams of ‘Stop It!’ and she did, nodding against his hand, “all right but tomorrow, you’re listening to me.”
Wanting to cocoon her, tuck her inside himself, hide her away so the cancer and the fear and the reality of it all couldn’t find her, he hugged her closer, spooned behind her tight, “maybe.” That’s as good as she would get tonight and accepting it, she did her best to forget everything but the moment. A pleasant ‘hmm’ purred out a minute later and, hearing it as well as feeling it against his chest, “what was that for?”
Not realizing she’d made the sound until it was too late, “living in my moment, Mulder.”
“Our moment.”
For half a second, she wanted to cry, “You’re right. Our moment.”
&&&&&&&&&
He was gone when she woke up, the nurse checking on her telling her quietly, “he snuck out about 20 minutes ago.” Seeing her still sleepy look of disappointment, she smiled, “I’ve seen the way he looks at you; he’ll be back.”
Alone a moment later, she tried to work herself into a rage because he left without saying good-bye and without talking to her like she’d asked but, in the end, it was Mulder and she really should have expected it. Returning to her side, facing the door, she shut her eyes, imagining he was still behind her.
&&&&&&&&&&
He appeared the next day, glass vial offering a last-ditch effort in his fight to save her. He watched her argue with her family, fight her doctors, grasp onto a fading hope without which, she would be forced to make him sit, discuss funeral arrangements, ask him to give up while holding her hand.
&&&&&&&&&&
First Skinner left her room, then her brother, then, finally, Maggie, who gave him a hug and told him, without words but the slightest of head nods, that Scully was inside waiting for him. He gave it another minute, still processing, still gripping the bloody picture, still marveling at the news that was, indeed, real.
Opening her door slowly, the first thing he saw was not a smile but her piercing gaze that ranged in interpretation, over the years, from raging irritation to unbridled happiness. Todays was more of a confused relief bordering on reserved elation, “Mom says you’ve been sitting in the hallway.”
“Your mother deserved the first hug.”
“Are you going to be my third?”
“Patience, woman. I give you a hug now, we’ll both be crying for the next hour.” Shooting her his first mischievous grin in months, “I am breaking all kinds of rules still being here. Three people have asked me to leave already.”
She’d been prepared to talk for a few minutes, then go to sleep but suddenly, that wasn’t cutting it anymore, “You want to go for a drive?”
Finally approaching her, he pressed his thighs against the edge of the bed, leaning just enough forward but keeping his hands in his pockets, schoolboy asking a question of his favorite girl, “your place or mine?”
She hadn’t even thought that far ahead in the discussion but now that it was out there, hanging in the air, she gave him a smile, “your place. We haven’t been there in awhile.”
“Luckily I just changed the sheets a few days ago.”
Holding eye contact, swearing for one second she could actually see into his soul, she found herself moving her legs, bumping into Mulder as she sat upright, slid off the bed, “go find me my clothes.”
They didn’t so much sneak from the hospital as walk out, quietly, Scully’s bag in Mulder’s one hand, Mulder’s other on her back, pressed to muscle and bone, fingers loose-gripping the back of her shirt. No one said a word, elevator their immediate destination, anywhere else in the world their quest. The air was balmy, the breeze light, and Scully stopped the moment the automatic doors shut behind her, inhaling deep.
Mulder, nearly knocking her over, suddenly panicked, “what? What’s wrong?”
Her head spun, giddy and light, “just … overwhelmed for a minute.”
“Do you need to go back inside?”
Shaking her head vehemently, “no … no, I just … your place, please.”
“Food first?”
“No. I … that’s too much right now.” Looking up at her partner, suddenly exhausted, “a bed would be nice and some drugs when we get to your place.”
“Home it is, then.” He valeted the car, tucked her inside, and drove away, aiming towards his apartment. She was dozing by the second turn and fully asleep by the time he pulled up to the curb. Crouching beside her open passenger door, hand on thigh, voice low, he began coaxing her in a soft voice reserved for just such occasions, “hey, Scully? Wake up. We’re here and you’ve gotta stay awake long enough to deal with the front steps and the elevator.”
Blinking her eyes open, they rolled around for a moment before focusing, “okay. Don’t let me fall down.”
“Never.”
He wanted to laugh at her swaying walk, likening it to her drunken trek a year ago at her mother’s surprise birthday party. Not saying that aloud, however, he steered her to his door then inside.
He set her bag down, then took her coat, hanging it before heading toward the kitchen for a glass of water so she could take her meds and lay down. Asking over his shoulder what type of pain killer she wanted, he glanced back when she didn’t answer. Finding her still rooted to her spot beside the hat rack, he stopped, took in the tears already rolling, then held out his hand, waving her towards him, “come here.” She did, shuffling, leaving shoes behind and walking into him, the collision backing him up a few steps. Accepting the momentum, he continued moving, sitting down on the arm of the couch, level with her now, arms tight around her neck, her face hidden in his shirt, “what’s wrong?”
“It can’t be real, Mulder. It can’t. It shouldn’t have worked.”
“But it did. You saw the scans.”
“But what if I go to sleep tonight and wake up tomorrow and it’s back?”
Shifting her away, he settled hands on cheeks, thumbs against eyebrows, painting over them lightly, absently, as he tilted her head to meet her tear-y gaze, “it won’t be but if it is, but it won’t be, we will figure it out … together … all right? We got here once and we can do it again … but we won’t have to, so don’t worry about it.”
Her hands were around his wrists, “I think you just gave me a headache.”
“I’ve been giving you headaches for four years now. What’s new?”
“This.” Leaning in, she kissed him, barely brushing his lips but setting his world on fire in the process, “I’ve got, to sound trite, a new lease on life and I’m not wasting it.” Kissing him again, before swaying dangerously to one side, “but I am going to ask that we sleep through a little bit of it because if I don’t lay down soon, I’m going to end up on your floor.”
He wiped the few remaining tears from her cheeks before he kissed her back, light but claiming, “do you mind some company?”
“I have never minded your company.” Yawning, she turned white, an immediate sweat beading on her upper lip, “but I need to lay down … now.”
Walking her to the bed, he gave her a shirt and some shorts, some drugs and a glass of water, then, “I’ll be back in a minute.”
Returning with a second blanket, he found her curled, body imprint stamped on ‘her’ side of the bed forevermore. His giddiness in the moment nearly made him laugh but containing it, he settled beside her, spare blanket at their feet. His hand went to her forehead, thumb in gentle circles between her eyebrows.
It was gone.
He had her back.
And he wasn’t going to waste a minute of the time they had left.
Which was a lot longer than they’d had mere hours earlier.
He didn’t fall asleep for hours.
Watching her breathe.
&&&&&&&&&&
Neither should have been awake but when Mulder opened his eyes, he found himself staring at an empty pillow and equally empty bed. Squinting towards the dawn-grey living room and the darkened bathroom, he looked over his shoulder, finding his target standing by the open window, leaning on the frame.
Rolling over, he tucked the pillow under his head, yawning, then watching her for a minute before she felt his eyes on her and turned towards him, quiet.
His mind was open and slow, filters off, walls down, and in that very moment, the only thing he had left in the world to say was “I love you.”
Her slow spreading smile lit up the darkening room, thunder rumbling as a storm moved in. It stopped just shy of a full-on grin, then dropped back to slightly upturn lip curl, sigh deep, eyes closing for a moment to collect the proper words from the universe, before sending them drifting across to him slow and steady, “and I … finally have the time … to love you back.”
Mulder’s smile spread at the same speed hers did, pushing into the pillow, squashing face glowing, “is this another one of our moments?”
“They are all our moments from now on, Mulder. All of them.”

Hi, I am developing a suffix list for my personal warriors worldbuilding and could use an outside perspective if you're willing to have a look!
I'll gladly take a look!
I am a traditionalist and follow an ailuronymy naming style for the most part, but with some suffix additions. I want the suffixes I use to make sense and not be overly complicated or synonymous with other suffixes already in use. I also want each suffix to either 1.) highlight a notable and helpful skill, 2.) a positive personality trait or 3.) if the cat does not have any notable skills or personality, to acknowledge the cat's adult status with an appearance suffix. That being said, I am having some trouble deciding if certain suffixes would be a helpful addition to the clans and I keep going back and forth on whether some of additional suffixes make sense with world-building in mind. This is where I could use your help.
I follow a similar naming ideal when I make my suffix lists, so I understand what you're going for, let me see what I can do.
So here are the suffixes I am wanting to add:
-Feather : a cat who is skilled at hunting birds by leaping into the air to catch them. Reasoning: Catching birds requires additional skills than hunting ground prey and birds are more difficult to catch, making it quite the achievement to be good at it. Birds are also unique prey in that they have feathers and a cat who catches a bird is likely to be covered in feathers right after. (I am a little iffy on this one still, since it does kind of overlap with -whisker and -tail skills, but at the same time I like the idea of differentiating between the hunting categories. [If I do keep -feather as a suffix, -whisker would be used strictly for a cat who is skilled at hunting land prey, such as rodents and lizards.] I also worry that naming a skill suffix after the defining feature of the prey might not make sense, but then again, maybe it does. What do you think?)
I'll reserve commentary for this one until the end since I can combine commentary for both this and -splash.
-Frost : a notably determined, resilient and tough cat. A -frost cat is likely to be disciplined and hard-working, stoicly overcoming difficulties to serve their clan. Reasoning: Frost is persistent and long-lasting and cats who make it through hardships, like the cold, frosty season of leaf-bare must be to. As feral cats, the clans would value warriors who have the tenacity to survive and serve for their clan, and it may make sense to have a suffix that honors those traits. (I love the sound of -frost, but I'm pretty iffy on this one for several reasons. 1. The fandom perception of -frost from what I've seen seems to be cool & calculating, very intelligent or white markings, none of which I am trying to go for here. 2. Frost may be an overall negative sounding word to use as a personality suffix, even if the way it's used is meant to be positive. 3. -Frost may require too much explanation and be overly complicated to logically use as a traditional suffix. It might be hard to decide if a cat is eligible for the -frost suffix over another more easily defined suffix, such as -cloud or -storm.)
Personally I love the sound of -frost, but I have encountered similar issues with including it. I think you could make it work, if you gave it a special stipulation, i.e. made it a combination of both skill and personality. You would have to think about how an apprentice would earn this suffix, which can still work! I would suggest either during apprenticeships having certain sections which focus specifically on endurance, in which case a -frost cat would be extra talented in those. Or the cat is known for doing things the harder way, like hunting when other cats struggle to hunt (say the clan is diurnal but that cat hunts at night, or in winter they push themselves extra hard to provide for their clan, or they use unique or different hunting skills that other clanmates aren't aware of). This would give the suffix a more solid grounding than a vague personality trait. Frankly I think it should be the same for other personality suffixes (-cloud cats are known as peacekeepers and generally calming influences, -storm cats have an energy and adaptability which comes with personality but also the ability to learn and pick up new things quickly even if they never master any skill) but again that's a personal interpretation. So yes, I think you can make -frost work.
-Pool : a cat who is very knowledgeable on important aspects of clan life such as law, customs, history, bloodlines, myths, etc. A -pool cat would be a very attentive student and teacher and likely enjoy keeping track of minute details. Reasoning: Knowledge collects in minds like water collects in pools. Since the Clans rely solely on word of mouth to keep their lore alive, I think it would make sense to honor such an important skill with a suffix.
So I do agree with having a suffix that honors knowledge and passing it on, I have one myself! I had never considered using -pool, but honestly it works just as well!
-Splash : a cat with exceptionally honed fishing skills. Reasoning: When a cat strikes a fish it causes a splash of water. Fishing and hunting land prey require very different skills and I think it would make sense to acknowledge this. (I guess in keeping with the theme of -feather, I could instead use -fin as the fishing suffix as that is a fairly defining feature of the prey, but I'm not a huge fan of how -fin sounds.)
-Spot : a distinctive spotted tabby cat, with no outstanding talents or areas of expertise. Reasoning: If spotted tabbies are very common in a clan, I think it could make sense to use -spot for a spotted tabby in the same way -stripe is used for a mackerel tabby cat .
I think using -spot instead of -stripe is fine, it takes up the same niche of pelt related suffixes but still manages to differentiate, and is specific.
What do you think of these suffixes and their meanings? Would it make sense that the clan cats would have naturally developed these suffixes over time?
I think whether they naturally would have developed over time depends on how you tell the story. If you have a good reason and it fits with your world building, then it will work, you just have to make it work.
I'm especially interested in if it makes sense to have the distinction between -whisker (ground hunting), -feather (catching birds in midair), and -splash (fishing), or if it would be better to stick with -whisker for all types of hunting.
Now I'm regretting waiting to talk about these cause it's so simple I should have just commented above, but oh well. In my opinion, it makes sense to differentiate between certain different types of hunting! Personally I only have a fishing suffix (which is -scale) but -splash works just as good! And as for -feather I think if you have a clan where there is a higher specialization in catching birds, it makes sense to have a suffix which differentiates. In the end, you just have to build a narrative in which it makes sense for these suffixes to fit.
I'd be happy to hear your thoughts/critique! Thanks in advance!
You're welcome! Hope this was helpful!

VORACITY — ONE-SHOT.
fic rating: explicit. | categories: fluff, hurt/comfort, smut. | pairing: solavellan. | content warnings: biting and scratching as kinks, discussions of dubious consent. | word count: 2.3K. | alternate link: ao3.
author’s note: the smut in this fic mostly functions in the background and in dialogue, but, although it’s described in detail, is not the focal point. the fic was written to focus mainly on the discussion of motivation, consent, aftercare, and the dynamic between solas and my lavellan, who are in an established and loving relationship by the point that this fic happens in. thank you to @thebookworm0001 and @jarakrisafis for beta’ing. <3
_____________________________
“I can heal these.”
Cooled with a spell at the ready, Solas’ fingertips hover over her hip, where an imprint of his earlier grip on her is darkening to bruises. It’s not the only wine-red patch. There’s a counterpart on her other side; and an irregular trail of marks in the shape of his mouth, starting from her throat, wandering down to her breasts, and ending below her ribs. In the morning, their contrast on her skin will be deeper, and will appear harsher than they are in daylight’s emphasis. She’ll have to be grateful Josephine ordered so many high-collared tunics for her in spite of her protests. Secretly. Or her Chief Ambassador may fuss even more. But Eludysia doesn’t think those things warrant her worries. Nor should they warrant Solas’. Easily concealed displays of a night enjoyed with her dearly missed lover? Hardly worth the trouble, when their lives are full of worries as things are.
“So can I,” she reminds him. She curls closer to his side. “Leave it. I don’t mind them,” she says. If anything, they serve as a reminder that there are some things of Eludysia she can keep guarded. For her love. For herself. Apart from Herald and Inquisitor.
Solas hesitates for a moment, the line of his mouth severe, eyes searching hers in the shadows cast by the dim firelight. “Ma nuvenin,” he says eventually, when she voices nothing more. The spell is returned to the streams of the Fade, and he arranges the quilt to cover her body and his.
She should know him better by now, however. The way she’s learning to know the lean grace of his form, the sharp angles of his features, the specific timbre of his voice. His acquiescence to her is conflict with himself. She has her dismaying confirmation as he lays back down to face her and brush her hair behind her ear, without a kiss to her forehead or her lips. Without holding her. He tries a smile, but it’s as withdrawn as he is. Like he doesn’t dare to allow himself her closeness, his mind lost to rumination.
There’s something behind his offers to clean her up and heal her love bites.
“You’re upset,” she says, as both a statement and a question.
“Do I appear to be?” Solas asks. It’s tempting to interpret his lilt and raised brow as amused surprise, and not concern. A simple yes or no would’ve made it easier to pursue the subject. She wouldn’t feel like she’s walking on a thin line, caught between potentially overstepping his boundaries again or never knowing the reason for his reservation with her.
Her desire to know wins.
“You do appear to be,” she tells him. “You’re distancing yourself and dodging my question.”
“I do not wish to concern you, vhenan. Moreover, you must be tired after your journey from Ferelden, and I have stolen enough of your time and energy. You should sleep.” He winds his arm around her, palm flat on her spine. His thumb strokes her skin. If the gesture is meant to soothe her, it has the opposite effect.
“I’ll toss and turn the whole night if you won’t tell me what’s wrong.”
Eludysia is aware of the manipulative undertone to her words. Though she is being truthful and her intentions are genuine, she could have let this go. Didn’t he say he would work on trusting her? She could have admitted that she is tired, and asked if he would discuss things with her in the morning. She could have asked if he’d help her sleep with a spell. Left him to mull things over on his own in the Fade. Perhaps he’d feel better if she did. But then, she doesn’t feel it’s a good idea to leave the conversation here. It is just as likely that he’d continue to avoid the subject and she would be no closer to the explanation for his mood’s sudden shift. She was so happy to be able to see him and be held by him again. She counted down the days, ached to have him all over her at night. Her hand and mere recollections of him between her legs brought poor relief. She thought he ached similarly and was equally thrilled for her return. Now...
Solas removes his arm from her. He rubs his face, as though he was the one who’d spent a week in talks with the Ferelden crown and nobility on a mutual effort to expunge the Venatori. For a moment, she braces herself for him to evade her or leave again. She wouldn’t blame him. But he doesn’t. When he drops his hand, his expression is as composed as a still pool.
“All right,” he says quietly. “I fear I should not have taken you in the manner I did. I was reckless. Unthinking. I could’ve caused you worse harm.” He places two fingers under the mark at her throat, examining her. As if he waits for her to flinch away from him. She remains at his side, her breathing steady. “My actions were regrettable. I apologise.”
“You apologise,” she repeats, incredulous. Reckless. Unthinking. Harm. She turns each word, each meaning over. Tries to frame tonight’s sex in the light of them. She can see how reckless could be applicable. But unthinking? Harm? And if his actions were regrettable, what would he call hers? Who initiated what past the first kiss is a bit difficult to distinguish. Neither of them could get their clothes off quick enough, neither seemed like they could bear another second without the other’s touch. But this much is clear: She was exhilarated by the voracity of Solas’ desire. She encouraged every move he made. Fenhedhis, his back must’ve stung from her nails sinking into his flesh. He had murmured, “abelas,” when she gasped at how hard he bit her throat, and she bid him to do it harder.
He’d paused, looked up at her. His pupils were dilated, eyes dark as the Void. Did they dance in the firelight or did she imagine it? “Are you certain?” He asked.
She couldn’t help but arch into him. “Yes! Please!”
Eludysia’s worry heightens into alarm.
“Solas…” She says slowly, fearing where she next treads. “Was the sex tonight pleasurable for you?”
His brows crease. “That is besides the point.”
“No, it isn’t.” She winces. Her pitch is higher, shakier than she intended it to be.
He falls silent. A shadow passes over his face. “It… was. Yes.”
She has little cause to assume he’s lying. In all the time she has known him, Solas has proven to highly value truth and deplore falsehoods. He has and will avoid and obfuscate if he sees fit. Mostly out of caution. But he would never lie. Still, she wants to be certain. “Every second of it?”
“I would not have gone as far as I did if it were otherwise,” he says.
“Then why are you apologising? If it was pleasurable for both of us, I don’t see a problem.”
“What is pleasurable and what is beneficial is not mutually exclusive, vhenan.” Though he is gentle as he explains, he points the differentiation out as if it’s obvious. “We have not been apart for quite some time, and your trip to Ferelden was the first since we started having sex. It was like starving in the winter after eating of a summer harvest. We were driven by need and desire. That combination can be overpowering for anyone, making them desperate to be satisfied. I wanted nothing more than to have you, to make you cry out and come apart trembling in my hands as I slaked my lust.” He cards his fingers through her hair. Somehow, his touch underlines his description of what transpired, intimate yet distant. She’d wonder at how paradoxical he can be if she wasn’t familiar with his idiosyncrasies.
He continues, “I knew I had you riled. I asked for your consent not purely for your sake, but to permit myself indulgence. Even if you were not hurt or did not feel mistreated in the moment… I would never want a chance of that happening.” His eyes flit past her, like he sees something she can’t. A scene where she’s pushing him away, covered in bruises, feeling used, her trust broken? It vanishes as soon as it appears, and his gaze settles back onto her face. “Certainly not in bed.”
She considers what he has said. Her cheeks burn and her eyes sting. She catches his hand mid-stroke in her hair, and brings it to her lips, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to his knuckles. Then she props up her pillow and sits, arranging and clutching the quilt tightly around her body. Solas watches her, questioning. As she cannot conceal the marks at her throat and the tops of her breasts from his view, she hopes her hair and the shadows fall in the appropriate places.
“Vhenan?” He probes.
Eludysia Adhlea Lavellan, you are a fool. Desiring is easy. Asking for explanations is easy. Receiving and examining them, and giving your own in turn—that’s the hard part.
“You’re the first person to care so much for me,” she says. A lump forms in her throat. She swallows, and glances at the sparks rising off the flames. Takes a breath to compose herself. “Growing up Dalish, sex was taught to me as a matter of practicality. We were given lessons on our bodies, taught how to protect ourselves, instructed through common knowledge and preserved texts and folktales, with the expectation of marriage and raising children one day. I’ve told you about my youth, so you know I was… Rather curious and rebellious.”
“As you’re still inclined to be.”
Solas’ wry note earns a nervous laugh from her. “You have a point. Well, I didn’t live in a village. I didn’t have a house with four walls and various rooms, let alone a castle, or stay anywhere long enough to figure out where there were good hiding spots. If I found someone to my liking, we had to be quick and discreet. That often meant we were rough. I’ve been bitten, swatted, I’ve had my hair pulled, and I’ve done the same to others—and there wasn’t time to embrace or curl up together or talk in bed like this.” Not even with Dhea. The thought is tinged with some regret. Not for what could have been. For what was. They were never right as a couple, but a few of the memories they made together might have been happier, had less insecurity and shame. Before Solas, she had no idea that sex could be so tender, so achingly sweet. She didn’t know someone could draw six, seven orgasms a night from her with the softest of touches. Nor what it would be like to be taken care of and then fall asleep in his arms afterwards. Being with him, in Skyhold and on their travels, has been a privilege she never envisioned for herself.
“I’m not telling you any of this to upset you further,” she hastens to add as his eyes widen. “But for you to understand: I like rough sex. I wouldn’t have sought it out or encouraged you if I didn’t. My only worry…” She swallows again. “Is that I’m mistreating you.”
He sits upright in an instant, closing the gap between them. “No, no. Nothing of the sort, vhenan.”
“You’ve done nothing but give into me, disregarding your own discomfort the entire night.”
“Would I not speak plainly if you had wronged me? My discomfort was caused by my guilt towards you. The actions I took were to assuage it.” He shakes his head at her. “You underestimate the extent of my selfishness.”
“Well, it’s not like I haven’t been selfish either.” Isn’t that how they ended up here? Mutual selfishness? She reaches for him with her free hand. He takes it, and she smiles faintly at their fingers interlacing together. “Heal the bruises if you like. I won’t complain.”
He hums, gently pushing her hair off her shoulders and lowering the quilt to her thighs. His fingers brush the edge of the mark at her throat. She tilts her chin up and straightens her posture for him. But he pauses. “First, answer this for me: Is there a reason you refused initially? You were fine with me fetching the cloth and wiping you.”
She shrugs. “Outside of this room, I’m the Herald and Inquisitor. People don’t see me. Not truly. They see whatever gives them faith, hope, or fear. You don’t. When I’m with you, I remember I’m more.” Gods, she sounds like Cole. Her nose scrunches. “I suppose the love bites and bruises just make that notion more tangible, odd as it sounds aloud.”
“On the contrary, it sounds like you’re clinging to your personhood however you can.”
Of course Solas would be the one to understand.
Eludysia cups his cheek and leans against his forehead. Her smile widens as his hand slides around the nape of her neck. “Maybe I don’t need them. Maybe it’s enough that you’re by my side.”
He chuckles, brushing his lips to hers. “I will be glad to remind you of the woman you are as often as you wish,” he murmurs.
Heat pangs in her belly at his words’ suggestiveness. “Good. Because if you’re up for another round…”
He pulls away, expression darkening. She opens her mouth to speak but all that comes out is a squeal as she is suddenly on her back, the mattress bouncing underneath, his body atop hers.
“It’ll be easier to heal everything with a single spell later,” he explains before she can ask. He pins her wrists above her head. She feels his cock hardening at her thigh. “Is this all right?”
She laughs, leaning up to drag her teeth over his lower lip. “Perfect,” she says.
The grin he gives is wolfish.

So predictably for the Ultimate Ship Meme thing I want to know ALL your TImKon headcanons. I'm especially looking forward to the domestic stuff~
Rate the Ship -      Awful | Ew | No pics pls | I’m not comfortable | Alright | I like it! | Got Pics? | Let’s do it! | Why is this not getting more attention?! | The OTP to rule all other OTPs    How long will they last? - FOREVER. I will say the one good thing about them not being canon is that DC cannot break them up for drama since comics writers are allergic to stable relationships.
How quickly did/will they fall in love? - So my headcanon for Tim is literal as in I literally consider him to be in love with Kon in preboot canon. I don't see that for Kon so I'm open to a lot of interpretations! But like, don't argue with me I'm passionate about my headcanons. I think Tim fell in love gradually without realizing it. At first he was kind of constantly exasperated by Kon even as they became friends, then it became exasperation he couldn't live without as his...I want to say respect but I'm not sure if it's the right word - for Kon grew. Kon became his very best friend first, and that's when the romantic feelings started unnoticed. I'd say he's solidly in love by the time Kon finds out about his Luthor heritage, though Tim definitely doesn't notice. He might start to realize his feelings after Kon died, but it's also a good time to tamp them down and compartmentalize because Kon is dead and why deal with those feelings now. When Kon comes back though... the feelings are going to leak their way out eventually, Tim can't suppress them forever though he might try. He might try his best not to acknowledge them at all or heck, recognize them and then cram them back down. But he's not going to fall out of love with Kon, so good luck with that. Kon I think was vaguely attracted to everyone he met for a while since he was basically a roiling mass of teenage hormones, so he probably thought Robin was hot and annoying. That faded as he re-categorized Tim from "annoying but smoochable" to "friend" but I think that category could easily swing to "best friend but smoochable".
How was their first kiss? - I think it started out slowly and easily, light kisses and laughter and it was so easy as they fit together, and it wasn't long before they were just lost in each other.
Wedding:
Who proposed? - Tim    Who is the best man/men? - Bart of course! Possibly they both share Bart but depending on if Tim has a good relationship with Dick again I think Tim would want him as his best man.    Who is the bride’s maid(s)? - I think if they have a big wedding party they might get Steph, Cass, or Kara in there.    Who did the most planning? - For their public wedding, the wedding planner with Tim peering over his shoulder. It's got to be a nightmare working for Tim in nervous perfectionist mode.    Who stressed the most? - Tim    How fancy was the ceremony? -    Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big. I think they had two weddings - a simple ceremony with family and close friends only, and then later (possibly much later) a large public ceremony for like all of Gotham, since Tim is a public figure.    Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? - Supervillains?
Sex:
Who is on top? - Kon They switch.    Who is the one to instigate things? - Kon more often because he doesn't get as distracted by casework.    How healthy is their sex life? -    Barely touch themselves let alone each other | 2 | 3 | 4 | Once a couple weeks, nothing overboard | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They are humping each other on the couch right now    How kinky are they? -    Straight missionary with the lights off | 2 | 3 | 4 | Might try some butt stuff and toys | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Don’t go into the sex dungeon without a horse’s head I do like them to get into some kinky stuff and I'd totally write a story about them discovering BDSM if I thought I could manage it.
How long do they normally last? - Kon has a super refractory period and probably builds up super stamina pretty quickly.    Do they make sure each person gets an equal amount of orgasms? - They probably have competitions sometimes tbh.    How rough are they in bed? -    Softer than a butterfly on the back of a bunny | 2 | 3 | 4 | The bed’s shaking and squeaking every time | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Their dirty talk is so vulgar it’d make Dwayne Johnson blush. Also, the wall’s so weak it could collapse the next time they do it.    How much cuddling/snuggling do they do? -    No touching after sex | 2 | 3 | 4 | A little spooning at night, or on the couch, but not in public | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They snuggle and kiss more often than a teen couple on their fifth date to a pillow factory.
Kon talks Tim into being okay with some PDA eventually.
Children:
How many children will they have naturally? - If by "naturally" you mean Tim clones* them a baby with both their genes, probably one. If this is mpreg and it's Tim who's pregnant, probably also one. If it's Kon who's pregnant, two or three.    How many children will they adopt? - Adoption seems the way to go! I like to imagine them ending up with at least two children, probably acquired in a superhero way. Probably more if they get them when they're older.    Who gets stuck with the most diapers? - Kon because Tim somehow disappears when they get stinky.    Who is the stricter parent? - Tim. He remembers what he got up to as an unsupervised child and tends to overcorrect, luckily Kon is there to buffer him.    Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? - Honestly they probably end up encouraging it, though Tim tries to seem like he disapproves.    Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? - Kon, he's got the whole morning routine down because Tim is either still asleep or a zombie who can only seek out coffee.    Who is the more loved parent? - They're both good parents, their children love them both.    Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? Kon. Tim only shows up when he needs to threaten/bribe the school board.    Who cried the most at graduation? - Kon   Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? - Tim, but they're probably more scared of what Tim will say when he comes to get them than they are of the law.
Cooking:
Who does the most cooking? - Kon! He eventually learned how to cook from Ma. Tim is perfectly capable of following a recipe, he just tends to get distracted during the cooking part because there are at least 10 things he could get done while waiting for that food to brown so Kon had to ban him from cooking after the third time he had to put out the stove with his freezing breath.    Who is the most picky in their food choice? - Tim. He developed some control issues around his diet after everything but he finally relaxes after a while.    Who does the grocery shopping? - Kon if he has to, but really thank god for grocery delivery.    How often do they bake desserts? - Kon probably makes a pie weekly.    Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - Tim was on a salad and precisely measured nutrients kick for a while, but they both end up eating a relaxed balanced diet.    Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - Cooked? Kon. Actually gets them reservations just for fun? Tim.    Who is more likely to suggest going out? - Neither, really. Once they move in together they would rather spend time together at home (with takeout). They do try to schedule date nights sometimes.    Who is more likely to burn the house down accidentally while cooking? - Literally Tim.
Chores:
Who cleans the room? - They have to make a chore list. They both have a pretty high tolerance for clutter but Kon breaks first because when Tim is headfirst in a case he doesn’t care if he lives in a cave made of Red Bull cans.    Who is really against chores? - Tim thinks it makes a lot more sense for Kon to clean everything because Kon can do it faster.    Who cleans up after the pets? - If Kon wants a pet, Kon has to clean up after it, Tim says like he doesn't also want the pet.    Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? - Tim    Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? - Tim only becomes aware of mess when other people are coming over and then he freaks out cleaning.    Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? - Kon, but it belongs to sugar daddy Tim.
Misc:
Who takes the longer showers/baths? - Tim, but sometimes it's because he's fallen asleep in there.    Who takes the dog out for a walk? - If it's Krypto, Kon is the only one who /can/ take him for a real walk. When they get a regular dog they take turns and often both go.    How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? - Kon hangs some stuff up for Christmas and Halloween. When they have children decorating and actually celebrating holidays becomes more of a thing.    What are their goals for the relationship? - Kon does not think in those terms, Tim just has to commit to not fucking it up.    Who is most likely to sleep till noon? - Tim    Who plays the most pranks? - Kon because he realizes he can distract Tim from work with them and then distract him from being annoyed with sex.
*I was going to make a note about clones but now it’s going to be a separate post.

Reasons you should be watching Craig of the Creek
Not enough people are watching this wonderful show, so I thought I’d do my best to introduce people to it. It’s made by former Steven Universe crew Ben Levin and Matt Burnett, so if you’re missing Steven Universe while it’s on hiatus this is a great way to keep away the hiatus blues, or if you just enjoy in cartoons. It’s great for a whole list of reasons, which broadly fall into the two categories of great representation and great storytelling:
Canonical queer representation
-       The witches premiere in the episode The Curse. If you aren’t sure if you want to watch this whole show definitely watch this one at least! It’s my absolute favourite not least of all because it’s about teen goth girls in love. It has a sequel The Last Kid in The Creek which is also wonderful, and the witches cameo throughout the series. I don’t want to spoil too much but The Curse is essentially about the two not wanting to be separated and struggling to admit their feelings for each other. (Spoilers: they do and walk off alone, blushing, staring at each other lovingly, while the kids aww at them)
-       Bernard and his girlfriend watch a cooking show hosted by a gay couple.
-       Other cameos, hints and coded queer kids such as JP’s sister (who has fancy dinner reservations with Kat, a woman with a shaved head who compliments Kelsey’s fake sword). There’s also Raj and Shaun (two very close friends), as well as several very boyish tomboys, including Handlebarb and Turner.
-       All public bathrooms I’ve spotted in the show have gender neutral signs on them which is nice.
POC representation
-       Craig, the main character, is black and has a loving family explored in depth, including an activist grandmother working for the council, a wise and fun grandfather, a supportive fun dad who loves his amazing wife, an adorable assertive little sister, and an angsty overachieving older brother who just wants to be a good grownup who loves his family and girlfriend.
-       There are MANY characters of colour. There are black and brown characters, Raj is Indian, Stacks is Hispanic (and it’s implied she is an immigrant), there are several Asian characters, Kelsey is Hungarian and Jewish, a persistent background character wears a hijab (I’m pretty sure she was named at some point but I can’t find her name anywhere. She definitely has lines at one point). I’m sure there are others I have missed. No one is a stereotype as far as I am aware.
Subtle neurodivergent representation
-       JP is possibly on the autism spectrum. I’d love neurodivergent people’s opinions on this, but while the representation isn’t canonical or obvious I think it’s good that while JP is represented as having different thought processes from his friends, he isn’t made fun of for it, at least not by them. It’s noteworthy I think that he’s the eldest of the core trio, probably because he finds it easier to relate to younger people who still share his imagination and care less about his unique way of thinking. His neurodivergence is explored most explicitly in the episode Jextra Perrestrial, so if you’re interested in this kind of representation definitely check that episode out.
Non-nuclear family representation
-       While the main character is a member of the typical nuclear family you see on TV (except black, and actually interesting) most of the other families we see are not.
-       JP is raised by his mother and older sister. His father is never mentioned and their house is definitely in worse condition than the others we see. His family works hard to take care of each other. His sister is a nurse and both her and her mother are away a lot of the time, but they both love JP very much. JP’s sister also happens to be really openly body positive. I love them a lot.
-       Kelsey’s father is an only parent. There’s still a lot of mystery surrounding how Kelsey’s mother passed away. It’s a very subtle but important part of Kelsey’s character and comes through in really bittersweet adorable ways (not limited to Kelsey using her “half-orphan”ness to guilt trip a man into giving her money)
-       Other kinds of families are scattered throughout the show, including families that move around a lot, a home-school kid with a strict mother, and more.
Unique approach to fantasy and sci-fi
-       You know how most kids show will take a kid’s fantasy and bring it to reality? Well Craig of the Creek keeps the fantastical and nostalgic element of that line of thinking but never confirms or denies whether the kids fantasies are real or in their heads. And not in a Scooby Doo way where the fantastical elements are explained away, but are hinted as a possibility right at the very end. Instead, two perspectives (the fantastical perspective and the realistic perspective) are woven into every episode.
-       This means there are two ways to interpret every episode. You can view the witches as real witches, or as goth teenagers. You can view Helen as a kid from another dimension, or a home-school kid who is never at the creek at the same time as the other kids. You can view Deltron as a cyborg from the future, or as an imaginative kid from a big city.
-       This is super unique and fun to watch. They come up with so many new ideas and its always fun to figure out what’s actually happening, while still getting to relive childhood fantastical nostalgia.
-       Almost all of these episodes use this to talk about an issue, but these issues can get quite complex and are definitely not shoved down your throat.
Overarching mystery plot about a colonialist kingdom / cult
-       Love the slow burn storytelling of Steven Universe’s Diamond Authority? Love putting together the mysteries of Gravity Falls? Then you’ll love this plot about colonialism, classism, bullying, peer pressure and more and its mysterious build up including cryptic graffiti art and flower symbolism.
-       Even before this arc properly begins, Craig of The Creek primarily centers around the microcosm of the Creek. Many of the episodes have a lot of commentary on society, politics and how different factions of people form and interact.
-       The show is over 50 episodes in and this arc is only just starting to kick off so now is the time to catch up and watch.
-       Fun complex villain(s)
Complex relatable characters
-       Want commentary and nostalgia about horse girls, children’s tea parties, weird kids, angsty teens, young weebs, dweebs and more!? Every childhood obsession is represented in this show.
-       Adults! All the parents and older teens in this show are just as rich and complex as the kids. They are all so interesting and fun.
-       Want characters with arcs, aims, fun relationships and complexity!? Look no further! Redemption arcs! Revelations! Found family! It’s all here!
Great art and soundtrack
-       Cute background and character designs that make you nostalgic as hell and are also beautiful and well thought out.
-       Sometimes the art design is changed up for a particular episode to portray a certain fantastical / sci fi element. It’s very fun and engaging.
-       An opening song that’s fun to sing along to, bittersweet ending song that makes me want to cry, a couple of musical episodes including a super fun rap musical episode, and a great OST
Queer headcanons
-       There are tons of ways to interpret the show but here’s some of my head canons just to get an idea.
-       (Note that despite my headcanons I use the pronouns for the kids that they use in the show cause I’m not certain about any of it and they’re kids who haven’t come out yet and also for clarity and consistency’s sake – I’m not saying trans people are not their genders. Don’t worry I’m nonbinary)
-       I headcanon that all the main trio grow up to realise they are queer. They strike me as that weird group of friends that doesn’t fit in with the other kids and aren’t quite sure how they all came to be friends, only to later realise they all showed early signs of breaking gender roles and that’s why they stuck together.
-       Craig definitely grows up to realise he’s gay, bisexual or queer. His admiration for characters like Deltron and Green Poncho are definitely crushes that he mistakes for a strong sudden and eager desire for friendship.
-       Kelsey probably grows up to realise she is nonbinary, a trans boy or a WLW. I mostly headcanon this because I relate to her a lot and I’m nonbinary and queer so I said so. She reminds me a lot of myself as a kid. She throws herself into books, mostly fantasy for escapism. She fantasises and writes a lot for the same reasons. She dresses like a tomboy (She always wears her hair up in the same bun which strongly reminds me of my own childhood hair dysphoria) and she hangs out solely with male friends.
-       JP gives me strong trans lesbian vibes, or to a lesser extent nonbinary vibes. (I know his sister is WLW coded but take it from me there can be more than one queer in a family). He is interested in girls, specifically Maney the horse girl (he even joined the horse girls for one episode). He wears a long V-neck shirt that is essentially a dress ALL the time. He’s aware that he’s different and while self conscious sometimes, mostly just wants to express himself the way he wants to. He also chooses to go by initials JP over his very gendered name Johnathan Paul (In a recent episode he names a ship after himself, calling it “The SS Johnathon Paulina”).
-       (Sidenote if you do start watching this show and I see any nasty shipping of these characters in non puppy-love fashion so help me god)
 Other reasons
-       The show is at times very intertextual and references Princess Mononoke, Super Smash Brothers, Sailor Moon, Lord of the Rings, and a billion other things. It also has some fun cameos, including background images of the Tres Horny Boys from The Adventure Zone, a TARDIS from Doctor Who, and a Cookie Cat from Steven Universe.
-       Honestly, this post hasn’t done the best job explaining why I love this show so much. You honestly just have to watch an episode to understand fully what I’m talking about, so give it a go! Watch The Curse at least, it only goes for 10 minutes.

My Decision: Thoughts, Theories, and Some Changes to how I do Things from here
Ok...so here it is. I’ve decided to keep F/O-ing Aaravos. What happened in season 3 wasn’t unexpected. The creators hinted numerous times about his role in season 3, and I knew something was coming. I just wasn’t sure how to process my feelings on it.
Warning: If you care about spoilers, don’t read any further. Spoilers for season 3 of The Dragon Prince is below.
I came to the conclusion it wasn’t that he did bad things...but who toward. That being Viren. The villain of the show. I like Viren as a character still, and I guess now I see what Jason Simpson (his VA) in an interview was saying. He likes Viren as the complicated villain he is...but if he wasn’t just joking around, he doesn’t feel the same about Aaravos. At least this season.
I think it’s because those that genuinely like Viren’s character (not agreeing with his actions, but not disliking him as a character) will have a harder time with the scenes where Aaravos is doing something to him. Like the webbed up eye so he could see Aaravos’ ghostly apparition or the scene where the caterpillar emerged from Viren’s mouth but much longer and larger...and then continued to change in the final episode. As well as the many times he used clever wordplay on Viren to steer his thoughts into bigger plans...plans I think Viren would have had already, but until he became king he didn’t have the power to go through with it and was still in the habit of not overstepping his boundaries.
Viren is capable of lying and could be lying to himself about what he wants from Xadia. He just got power, he doesn’t want to lose it over a risky decision...but Aaravos knows what Viren is like, and uses that to his advantage.
If you like Viren’s character...you’ll probably have a hard time still liking Aaravos in those scenes. Because Viren IS the bad guy...and Aaravos IS manipulating him slowly but surely. It still isn’t clear what this means, or why...but I’m sticking to my belief Aaravos’ role isn’t as a villain, but he is an antagonist. There’s a difference between the two.
The show creators say mixed things on him. In their Tweets we get quite a bit of subtle but ominous warnings...and a confession his design was an attack on the fandom, from Aaron Ehasz (show co-creator) as a joke. Then Ehasz repeatedly says throughout several interviews that Aaravos is very complicated, and has said once that Aaravos is “disliked, that’s not the same as bad.” This being in response to Justin Richmond (the other co-creator) saying “and obviously he’s bad enough they literally tried erasing him from the {history} books.” Ehasz’ exact response being “he’s complicated” and Richmond saying “he’s interesting enough they tried erasing him from the books.” Ending in the above line from Ehasz of “he’s disliked. That’s not the same as bad.”
He was making a clear distinction between the two words, probably anticipating the suspicions from the fans hearing or reading the interview of his (Aaravos’) place in the story. This doesn’t make him good either...canonically I can’t call Aaravos “good” in any sense right now. Except good at being sassy and a show-off. lol
But I won’t put him fully in the villain category. Sol Regem was willing to kill the future King of the Dragons and an elf of Xadia if they didn’t let him kill the human with them either way. Yet he’s in all the promotional posters for some reason as well as the prologue opening. That part, of course, is made more clear in the first episode of season 3, though. He was flying toward the Dark Mage from the prologue in episode 1 of season 1. Then flying blindly as his face was burning after the confrontation.
He’s clearly also important to the plot...but I can’t call him ‘bad’. Not great...but not a villain.
The last bit of evidence is Aaravos’ actual name. It’s of Danish and Arabic origin and means “between light and dark, not good or bad.” Every other name has been spot-on:
Callum-Dove King: He’s a Sky Mage, and the Skywing elves are strongly influenced by bird themes, much like Moonshadows have strong ninja themes and the Startouch...is literally covered in stars and wearing a constellation on his clothes. Callum is a Sky mage, doves are birds, and he’s working toward a peaceful future. Doves are a symbol of peace.
Ezran-Helper: Look how helpful he was this season especially!
Viren-Leader of heroes: Uh...ok I don’t know WHAT heroes...but he is a good leader. Say what you will about his character, he has leadership skills. Aaravos didn’t have to teach him that stuff.
Claudia-Lame: Ok this is a bit harsh...but it is the ‘crippled’ lame. She’s...not doing well now. She isn’t physically crippled, but mentally and emotionally she is pretty badly wounded.
Ziard-Wizard: He’s a Dark Mage. A wizard. Spot on.
Sol Regem-Sun King: They literally say his name meaning...SUN KING. He was a king of the dragons once and is an Archdragon of the Sun.
Zubeia-Beauty, grace any of those. She really fits that name. She is beautiful.
Avizandum-Reserve Judgement: I interpret that to mean on Aaravos. He locked him in the place behind the mirror because he isn’t sure how to deal with him yet before Viren and Harrow slay him (Avizandum.) Aaravos is literally in 300 year jail time right now, and Avizandum was still deciding if he should execute him or not for whatever he did.
That or he’s reserving judgment on humans, which is why he defends the border instead. We might find out eventually...cause that is still a mystery. Why is the king of the dragons guarding the boarder 24/7? I get he was basically the ruler of all of Xadia...but it’s still an odd choice.
Anyway, Aaravos. Names clearly mean things in this show. I think his is the hint that he seems bad right now, but he isn’t. He isn’t good, but he isn’t bad. I don’t know how they’ll pull that off...but I’ll be impressed if they do.
There was also still more evidence on a theory I have that he’s telling the story is true as well. In the prologue, he calls Avizandum by his human-given name: Thunder. He says “the humans called him Thunder. For when he spoke his voice shook the earth and the sky.” In the episode we learn what happened to Avizandum, Aaravos is the one to say the name, but Viren doesn’t recognize it.
Viren is the one that tells Aaravos what they called Avizandum. Which was “Thunder.” If Aaravos isn’t an omniscient narrator and has been imprisoned for 300 years or so...how would he know this in the prologue if he didn’t in that scene? Coupled with the opening sequence of his hands uncurling a map, the lighting and desk surface or the shade of blue of his skin being nothing like in his prison. I could be wrong, and while I’d be disappointed to be...oh well.
What I’m saying is...Aaravos lives to tell the story if my theory is right. Which means he isn’t bad enough the writers have to kill him or something else...I don’t know how they’ll do it if it’s true, but I will be quite interested to see it.
Aside from the Sunfire elves in Lux Area, who I don’t think deserved what happened, his actions are all for a purpose related to what’s happening...but if we knew his perspective maybe it would seem less like a random evil act, which contradicts him being complex if it was just a show of his power and how ruthless he can be. Because from our perspective there wasn’t a reason to kill the Sun Queen other than “look how evil he is! Oooh!” Which doesn’t go along with the information we’ve been given so far. There’s more to this scene, I’m sure. Though it could just be that he killed her so she couldn’t reveal what he whispered in her ear...which was also a strange move. See? He’s complicated and there are still a lot of mysteries surrounding him and his actions. Aside from that, the only one Aaravos has done much of anything to is Viren. Anything kind of graphic and sort of gross (at least with the caterpillar.) Who is again...the Bad Guy.
So all that to say...yes, I’m going to keep him as an f/o. But in doing so I’m ignoring the show canon on this blog. As in I won’t be trying to work my S/I into the narrative as much anymore for the time being. I’m going to treat the blog similar to how @justafictionalthing where I don’t worry about canon or accuracy to the character’s personality in the source material to a T. I still love the show, don’t misunderstand. I’m going to watch it to the end of the saga, whatever happens...but on this blog, for the time being, I’m treating it like the Aaravos here and the canon are separate.
My Aaravos, the interpretation on this blog, is aware of his source material. If anyone’s read Inkheart, think of it like that. Fictional character comes out of their source material but still exists in the story itself as well. I might make a little story or something explaining this, but that’s the angle I’m going for in all future Takeovers and commentary.
I don’t dislike his canon portrayal, I know he’s more than what we saw...but for the blog it just doesn’t work right now. My S/I would never be ok with what he’s been doing...and keeping it hidden from her goes into some risky territory... I like that kind of stuff if there’s a happy ending payoff, but for the overall blog and my way of selfshipping, which has turned more “I’m actually with this character, not just writing myself in their story,” it doesn’t work.
TL;DR: I don’t hate or even dislike canon!Aaravos, but he doesn’t work well with what I want on this blog. I’m still with him, but the version you guys have gotten to know on this blog. Sassy but friendly and knowledgeable, and now separated from his source material almost Inkheart-style.
I’m too attached to who he is now from relationship development to drop this. I still like his canon self, but he’s changed a lot on this blog. If you don’t like that, watch the show for the ‘true’ Aaravos experience. Nothing but soft and sassy here for now. With some dark stuff if I’m in the mood for it.

Golden Dawn Reading for Kristin
All right here you go, a reading for (heh) @maryreadings courtesy of Aleister Crowley and the book of Thoth. This is the Golden Dawn Reading, which is literally the biggest pain in the ass in the entire world, BUT also reveals the most helpful information. Now, lemme just start with a lil diagram of how the cards are read
Tumblr media
As you can see from my incredible drawing, the first 15 cards drawn are read in a spiral configuration because symbol of infinity and life and blahblahblah point is. I won’t refer to them by the order in which I drew them, but instead their placement otherwise it gets fucking confusing
The middle three indicate the state of the querent (i.e. YOU), the three on the upper right are the path you’re currently on. The upper left, depending on whether they compliment or contradict the upper right, are either an extension of that path or an alternate path that you may take if certain decisions are made. The lower left gets into your head, the psychological/emotional reasons your shit the way it is, and the lower right are “karma” cards. Things which are, essentially, unavoidable.
It’s my first time and Crowley’s Unified Theory of Everything as put forward in The Book of Thoth is insanely dense, convoluted, and frought with symbolism, i’m just going for the most basic divinatory meanings of the cards or I’ll dig deeper if I have to. Helpfully, for the minor arcana, they’re kinda spelled out. The trumps though hoo boy that’s...that’s some other shit. Anyway, point is, first time doing this for real, be gentle. This ain’t your granny’s Rider-Waite reading.
I’ll break down three at a time following the same spiral so you’ll get yeah Your shit, your possible future shit, a different or maybe the same possible future shit, the role your heart has in your shit, and finally your ABSOLUTELY DEFINITELY GOING TO HAPPEN future shit.
Let’s begin.
Cards 1-3: The 3 of Swords (Sorrow), The Queen of Disks, The 9 of Wands (Strength)
Tumblr media
Your present state as indicated by the 3 of Swords is sorrow, melancholy, fear, abandonment, but frankly I don’t need any cards to tell me that. HOWEVER, The Queen of Disks indicates a sort of motherly, nurturing presence watching over you that can guide you. This can be internal of external, and the card may be telling you to stay grounded and to have compassion, to take care of yourself and of those around you. Your hard work is paying off. Also, the 9 of wands indicates the ability to overcome exhaustion and what you may think impossible if you can be introspective, if you can draw on your inner reserves of strength and find balance and harmony, you can achieve what your heart is set on. You’re in a state of sadness and fear, essentially, but you’re stronger than you know and need to draw on your inner strength and on your inner “motherly” in this case it just means nurturing calm down nature to take care of yourself.
Cards 4, 8, and 12: The Tower, The Three of Cups (Abundance), The Two of Disks (Change)
Tumblr media
Ahhh, ooh boy. Okay. The path you are currently on. So, one possible future starts out with The Tower. Destruction, ruin, turmoil, anger, grief, depression. The Tower basically signifies nothing good in Thoth. However...whatever experiences may come, you can grow from them. Out with the old, in with the new. The third card seems to imply that’s what will happen, but more on that in a second. The 3 of Cups is kinda weird, it doesn’t fit as neatly as the other two do. It represents the birth of something (good), a time of, well y’know abundance, all the captions on the minor arcana are basically one word super-simplified summaries of divination meanings, a time of joy and spreading your joy with others, it’s...unambiguously positive and it’s strange that it’s right next to The Tower. Except...Change. The Two of Disks means nothing’s set in stone, that your fortunes are in flux, that you need to keep your feet on the ground. That harmony will be found by following the currents of life. If I had to guess at all three together, I’d say that following some ruinous event, keeping your feet on the ground and accepting the change and adapting will lead to a state of happiness and abundance in this possible timeline.
Cards 5, 9, and 13: The Ace of Cups, The Hermit, The 7 of Cups (Debauch)
Tumblr media
The Ace of Cups is a chance for your cup to be filled, emotionally speaking. It’s about opening your heart and letting love in. In this future you open yourself up, you become vulnerable, you let your love flow through you. The Hermit usually means withdrawing from people or a situation to get a better insight into it, but the main thing of it is illumination. Finding inner wisdom and realizing a truth. Then the 7 of cups...”indulging negative behaviors” feeding into things we know aren’t healthy for us. Addictions of any kind, self-destructive behavior...poisoning yourself. This future seems to be a different path than the first one, one that will happen if certain decisions are made, one you may have some level of choice over. Whereas your first path started with grief, anger, and ruin but led to change and abundance, this started with love and ended with indulging negative emotions, self-destruction. The Hermit seems to represent the turning point at which you realize what you’ve poured into your cup is poison.
Your paths therefore, are...what? A traumatic conflict that comes to make you grow as a person or a love you come to realize is poison? That seems to be it...seems to be.
Cards 6, 10, and 14: The Princess of Disks, The 3 of Disks (Works), The Moon
Tumblr media
Now, onto your mind. The Princess of Disks is someone in touch with nature ha again didn’t need your cards Aleister buddy but thanks for the confirmation, someone peaceful by nature and therefore who deals poorly with conflict. Someone benevolent and empathetic in touch with what’s truly important to them, following and protecting that no matter what. Devoted, protective, nature-bound, conflict-averse, empathetic. You know what matters to you and what matters to you MATTERS to you. Works means, well, working hard and dedicated, and should be...in this position, since it’s not about the future per se, I think it speaks more to your belief that your work should be rewarded. That you work hard at what fulfills you, and you want to reap the rewards of your works. The Moon is a REALLY fun one to get in this position though because the Moon basically means you’re a lunatic. No, no, that’s wrong, but it does indicate deception, in this position I’d assume self-deception, traumatic memories, repressed problems from childhood, and deep problems with your shadow self. You are empathetic, protective, peaceful, and in touch with what matters to you. You work hard and want to be rewarded. But your shadow and your past lie unaddressed, and you deceive yourself.
Cards 7, 11, and 15: The Prince of Cups, The Emperor, and the 9 of Cups (Happiness)
Tumblr media
These I feel are the only category that should all be interpreted one at a time, as they represent three distinct forces that are beyond your control, unlike the previous two future sets. Now, the Prince of Cups is creative, passionate, driven, and has a lot to give, but is not an integrated whole of a person and can be reckless and secretive...the court cards seem more used to describe people than the future, but for divinatory purposes, the Prince of Cups here seems to mean...here, from the Book of Thoth: such people good will, sincerity, and right mating are the essentials of success; their danger is overweening ambition.
That was the main thing I could find in terms of forces beyond your control...beware the power of your own passion and ambition. The volatile power of your drive for what you seek will always affect you.
The Emperor, however, is all about responsibility. Self-sacrifice, discipline, surrender to a greater cause. Both of these cards speak much more about the character of a person than the outside world, and you got both for forces beyond your control you need to adapt to. Very interesting. Although...although, The Emperor here could mean a drive in you to be self-sacrificing and/or a leader and/or responsible will always affect your fate...OR it could mean that the need for you to step into such characteristics will affect your fate. I think it may be that second one.
Now this, this is a lovely note to end on. The Nine of Cups is one of the most unambiguously positive cards in the Deck of Thoth. Fulfillment. Getting what you want. It was the very last card in the spiral, the end of your journey, so to speak, but...it did show up eventually. I believe you’ll always find happiness. Apparently, so do the Graeco-Roman and Egyptian Gods

Interesting facts about the game Farm Manager 2018 Free
I've been itching regarding a ready like Farm Manager 18. As a baby, I engaged in a lot of sport like Sim Farm, Knights and Businesses, Caesar III, and SimCity. Then I got into console gaming, which (until relatively recently) completed provide much in terms of real-time strategy (RTS) match with city-builders, and thus How to download Farming Simulator farmsimulator.eu they slid off my radar a little bit. Fast forward to present day – I've become a great whiff of activities with the agricultural focus like as Farming Simulator and Staxel, enjoying strategic gameplay that encourages careful planning. When I first noticed of Farm Manager 18, the prospect of the match to melded my worship of farming (full disclosure: I grew up on the farm and our morning charge is agriculturally-related) with the program and administration usually associated with city-builders was incredibly exciting.
This isn't to say which Farm Manager 18 isn't without problems or potential questions for progress. But the main event is immersive, deep, and most important, fun. Having grown up on a dairy farm, I have a basic sense of some of the 'behind the scenes' operations that goes at into farming operations, i really feel quite qualified to determine the level of realism to Farm Manager 2018 delivers, and the amount of a 'farm management simulator' this is really (message that this game doesn't claim to be a 'simulator', this is precisely the design regarding just what this trying to achieve). And in my opinion, that delivers a great impression of coping a growing farming operation without actually making it feel like run. Over my point with the sport here were a few illustrations of frustration and embarrassment, but if your dust settled (pun intended) I experience very pleased by the strong and fulfilling understanding how the game provided.
Tumblr media
The game features three different approaches, that basically vary the level of advice of which takes place given for the player. Campaign mode walks you out of various shows in the (re)development regarding the family's old, run-down farm, exposing the participant to the playoffs mechanics with unlike aspects in presenting relatively direct and simply achievable goals. Scenario mode produces the participant with a choice of unique conditions to shoot into that examine the chance to function towards a certain goal in a given timeframe, like as to build 30 greenhouses. Finally, free mode gives you all the tools with none of the instruction, therefore that you can construct the farm regarding the goals without any instruction regarding what we need to be there working towards. I feel that the three kinds give a good selection in terms of the level of autonomy fond of the gambler, then would appeal all right to different experience (e.g., a tinkerer could act free way also attempt another factors, while a goal-oriented player could control throughout the work or scenarios).
Like playing in Farm Manager 18's work (which held us around 22 hours) I experience well-equipped to take on the other parts of the playoffs tasks. It does a good duty of presenting the playoffs mechanics such as cropping (with little and larger scales), orchards, greenhouses, the various kinds of being also the needs, along with the many types of processing/manufacturing buildings. It gradually adds the ability to create different types of structures with swallow machinery, relieving the participant into know how all of the aspects of the farm work together. This was a great way to see many of the game's structure, such as there are many complex menus and statistical pages that might be trying to grasp without the explanation that's given. There are several items that would benefit from a deeper presentation, then I think the developers would do well to intensify in a "help" menu where the player could go for a refresher on some of the particularly hard items, as if they accidentally shut the interface explaining how to perform a thing or interpret a certain menu, there isn't any way to get to those factors.
At times the campaign did go somewhat slowly, leaving us thinking as even though I will need a run even faster than the "3X" option., i left the time placed on for nearly all on the drive. Usually, the "1X" (real-time) speed option felt painfully slow, next I frequently effect the fly at the max adjusting for prolonged periods – this becomes fewer of a challenge like your own farm grows, however, since new problems pop up and more tasks ought to live assigned. While I closed to the aim in the work, I found myself thinking overwhelmed (in an excellent sense) sometimes with the number of things that required the consideration, with organizing at maximum rate was simply no longer a workable option. Ultimately that kept us thinking when still the time size was rather well-balanced, given that with identical games, earlier stages are typically relatively simplistic/slow-moving then articles become increasingly hectic so your own farm/city/colony grow.
youtube
I applaud the game for operating a full-year cycle of some years, however winter could move in, very when you haven't built any greenhouses otherwise state several animals to take care of. At times I wished the game would let me fast forward during winter for the launching of movement, when fieldwork found then nearby remain a great abundance of tasks to complete once once again. To live around, I think that seasons could be shortened a little, since I frequently get myself getting all of our subject research completed quite first about now spring, with the crops being ready to pick during earlier summer. In fact, depending on the crop being grown, you can actually increase with pick a crop twice in a growing season, which is fairly unrealistic. This support the notion that the game's seasons are in want of some (albeit relatively minor) adjustment.
Not solely made my yearning to help rate in chapters of the fight almost understand myself in conflict on some positions (through approximately ignoring the space to grow a certain crop in a given growing season, for example), it also cause me to know that the function has a bit of a good identity crisis. Farm Manager 2018's campaign struggles occasionally with deciding whether that wants to work as a full-fledged tutorial, or as a goal-oriented battle which allows you complete the objectives as you get fit, but teaches anyone the basics along the way. At single position, I'd already brought in a industry of wheat in earlier summer, and when I catch the next period from the push a miniature later on, this raised us toward bring in that ground with a newly-purchased combine harvester. Said I not had time to put in a bank by about half an hour earlier, I would have had to wait another round in-game year to complete the work then jump forward in the operation. I happened in new issues further losing the connection, as in a effort to soak the period I did developed the dairy operations, however the drive put us to help raise even more cowsheds, put me without option bar to erase the little ones I had built to make area for several of these choice sized counterparts.
These concerns allowed me feeling like although I had very little choice in expanding on the parts which were being added to me, before essentially punishing everyone instead of receiving my ideas about how to go on using the farm (even while the entire moment I stayed careful of the goals set out with the campaign). I understand how the game wanted to slowly create the various mechanics, but once those are added it should be approximately the gambler to use them as they get fit. Several of the goals on the battle were somewhat too restrictive for my liking, and development already made when a goal appeared wasn't taken into consideration (e.g., when the game need everyone to breed 30 cows, it must be 30 new cows, despite the fact that I'd likely bred 50 by that time from the fight).
While this may seem as though I have many issues, Farm Manager 18 does manage to get quite a couple of details just. The physical flow of farming, with better workloads in the growing period with calmer winters, is very obvious also expects the gambler to think ahead to ensure that their own time is used well then they have the appropriate range and mix of workers (permanent and seasonal) to efficiently direct workflow. This forces you to use streets to acquire some income during the off season, and also ensure that you're prepared to endure a period of generation without any incoming crops – for example, without the ability to produce any grass or straw, that may become trying to keep a steady supply mine for cows (without having to buy grass or silage). Permanent workers and have various skillsets (e.g., expert on using machinery, pick from orchards, protection for animals, and more), which can offer a visible impact on things like how easily the trouble of products deteriorates or maybe the number of crop returned from a field, so the player should carefully consider the farm's needs as using new workers.
Tumblr media
There is and significant level to the number of options accessible for the player with influence how to develop their farm. Need to remain relatively small scale with create little fields, care for a few cows, and also approximately rabbits? Go ahead. Want to make a series of humongous dairy shelters and several equally massive returns to reserve feed for your cows? Or maybe diversify the procedure with market fruit liquid and sheep's wool? You can do to in addition. Farm Manager 18 offers a substantial amount of building categories and meaning. While all the animal building types essentially perform the same technique (buy a few animals, over time you can breed them to make your herd) they create different results, and may also give into production plants like as slaughterhouses for a better investment (yet also a heightened return). These kinds of judgments live everywhere I feel the game really shines, as a lot you are influence to contemplate many variables with taking how to develop (and finally control) the farm. Costs/cash on hand, open space (or the charge of novel soil to expand the farm), workforce, long term goals…these all come into play. Not to mention the structure of the farm also perform a large job now the way efficiently it functions also the way fast charges are finished. You can see the workers dancing with performing their assigned jobs in real time – with dressed in significant detail if you move in much enough – and they need to step via the assigned address on the job (or equipment if the idea needed) in order to get the job accomplished. That take place around, the game suffers from a lack of any ability to queue up tasks for your workers and/or systems, that causes some frustration as you watch an employee go with a tractor, pick up the involved implement (e.g, a manure spreader), stuff it ahead (if have to), appeal for the area, complete the task, drop off the implement, park the tractor, then hike back to their own organization – and only then can you assign them to help fertilize another field. That could only get extra 10 seconds on any bottom of the mission (after work the game in greatest speed) but with no selection to assign multiple tasks to a worker, I frequently got myself expecting them to return on their house now so I could assign them the equal task around the following take over.
Visually, Farm Manager 18 looks excellent. As mentioned, there is a surprising level of detail in the "ground-level", and when moved out (which remains how I played 95% of times) the aesthetic quality remains fantastic then devices change visually relying upon what's taking place next to the farm into really moment as things acquire and advance – there is too a clear-cut visual disparity among years, even dependent on temperature at times (e.g., snow can melt in winter if the temperature goes beyond freezing, it doesn't just keep white through the entire time).
Farm Manager 18's user border is workable, but would benefit from some enhancements. It does a good career at providing basic facts in a convenient with pretty visually-appealing way, but I feel that it could be further looked up. The tavern to sits down the top of the television (that lets you to track the amount of eight effects regarding the pick that's presently in your storage) would benefit from putting in the ability to track expiry dates and/or values on the things, and so that people live influence to check with with a selection to make sure information for the products you produce/sell the most. The buy/sell menu for products is relatively clunky, as it often presents items several times (e.g., if they have special expiry dates or are in different storage facilities) but there is no option to sell only that "heap" of outcome – that turns out this very difficult to offer the outcomes that will expire first, after that I frequently got myself just selling the full sum of consequence I had just to avoid the hassle. The gaps to appear when you click by a little (e.g., a figure, field, worker, etc.) appears straight from the heart of the television, and often blocks people since glancing for the thing which a person clicked. While this isn't an important concern, having the window open in the crook on the screen allows you to retain a graphic connection to the thing that you are managing and not have a substantial portion of the television consumed with the data. Which take place around, items to involve immediate attention appear as notifications and place the icon from the best right curve in the project until dealt with, allowing you to triage things that are calling for the thought with ensure that important concerns are managed in a timely manner.
Tumblr media
The game and suffers from the few problems, such as tractors or workers getting stuck while working tasks, however Cleversan Software have been extremely alert to person feedback in handling copies with generating updates in the era while release. Some times I met something that forced everyone to help exit for the chief menus and charge on our saved game, but generally the event remained quite efficient and also the delays were minor. It could perhaps become superior optimized, what I found that no matter of the images settings I chose, the game went sound from the basic steps of stem the farm, but suffered so still it was chugging as the farm became very large and how many processes on the go increased (even still the CPU/GPU usage remained fairly short). Despite the occasional lag in release a selection, that enjoyed a token effect on the gameplay, but I stay slightly concerned that matter would become other prominent with better farms (I never make the resolution maximum possible farm size).
I figured out tap with some other additional (albeit minor) items from the game such as the ability to repair equipment, but suffice this to say that I think the game presents a level of realism that's believable without becoming overbearing or detracting from the gameplay. Overall, I had a great time with Farm Manager 18. This bad enough without considering overwhelming, but allows the person to conclude how "into the buds" (pun intended) they find with respect to reading database and following commodity value. That produces a great variety in terms of foster and plant types allowing for large player wealth and self-direction – in spite of mode – while the several specific game modes provide for a great diversity in the level of prescription with respect to overall aims. The resolutions you meet as playing think like still they have consequence, that is essential in this type of activity. Despite several small insect and roughly equally minor pacing issues with the campaign, I would certainly suggest this sport to waves of city-builders, simulators, and/or farming games.
Farm Manager 18 nails the feeling of managing a farm. It puts a lot of information in an individual also calls for you to manage tons of variables – all while continuing that fun. Some bug resolutions and squeezes become needed, although if you're seeking a building/management game and have an interest in farming (or even if you don't), that competition may definitely keep you entertained.

Tarot vs. Oracle decks: What's the difference?
Tumblr media
Posted by Michelle Gruben on Jun 15, 2015
Lots of people approach our Tarot display with this question:  I'm trying to choose my first deck, but I see there are Tarot and oracle decks.  What's the difference, and which one should I get?
The sheer number of options for your first deck can be mind-boggling, but understanding their similarities and difference will help you make an informed decision.  Read this short article, and you'll be an expert in no time!
The Name
Technically, an oracle (meaning "that which speaks") can refer to any item used for divination.  So Tarot decks are actually a type of oracle--as are runes, bones, pendulums, and many other tools.  But in the world of Tarot publishing, an oracle deck means a deck of cards used for divination that doesn't fall under the narrower category of Tarot.  (We'll talk more about what that means in a moment.)  But the very simplest way to tell what kind of deck you're holding is to check the title.  If it says "Tarot," you probably have a Tarot deck.  If it doesn't, you may be looking at an oracle deck.
The Structure
Tarot follows a very specific structure.  (A certain number of cards in a certain sequence.)  While its card order, number and names have evolved across the centuries, the Tarot deck has settled into a fairly rigid form.  All modern Tarot decks share the same basic structure, with relatively superficial differences.
A Tarot deck, almost by definition, has 78 cards.  The 78 cards are divided into two Arcana, or groups:
The Major Arcana ("Greater Mysteries") has the 22 "picture cards" that most people associated with Tarot: the Hermit, Death, the Fool, and others.  The Minor Arcana ("Lesser Mysteries") holds the remaining 56 cards, which is further divided into numerical and court cards. The cards of the Minor Arcana are divided across four suits. (The Minor Arcana somewhat resembles a 52-card deck of regular playing cards, but it has four extra court cards.)   Usually the four suits are Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles, but one or more suits may have an alternate name.  (Staves, Hearts, Coins, Gems, etc.)
In contrast to the fixed 78-card structure of Tarot, oracle decks have various numbers of cards.  They may follow a different, traditional structure (like the 36-card Lenormand). They may use suits or other divisions to separate different types of cards. Oracle decks may also be completely freeform.  There are no rules when it comes to designing an oracle deck.  The artist may choose the number of cards that best suits the intended purpose of the deck.  Or they may just stop making cards when they run out of ideas!
So, a deck must have 78 cards, or it's not a Tarot deck, right?  Well, not necessarily.  Some Tarot decks have 79 or 80 cards.  The reason is this: Tarot cards are printed on an single sheet of cardstock, usually eight cards wide by ten cards high, making a total of 80 cards.  So two extra cards are printed with each deck.
Most often, the extra cards are carry the artist's or publisher's information.  But some deck designers choose to use this extra space to make a bonus card or two.  (Examples are the Unknown Card in the Crystal Visions Tarot, or the Happy Squirrel card in several decks.) Still, Tarot purists disdain the extra cards, insisting that a Tarot deck with more than 78 cards is an aberration.  (There are also alternate historical versions of the Tarot, like the 97-card Minchiate Tarot, but they're rarely used.)
Technique
Tarot is an incredibly versatile tool, with dozens of magickal and divinatory applications.  Still, over time, some common ways of using the cards have evolved, and card meanings have become somewhat standardized.  Most Tarot decks come bundled with a "little white book" that gives an introduction to reading the cards.  The content of these books tends to be very similar across decks.  The reader will be instructed to deal the cards into a number of pre-assigned positions, then interpret the card according to its meaning in that context.
Most oracle decks can be used in the same way as Tarot, with a bit more variation.  Oracle decks are may include instructions for using the deck for game playing, discussion and ice-breakers, daily encouragement, and personal development.  They sometimes have extra text, like suggestions for meditation. Often, the accompanying book will have exercises or spreads that are specific to that deck.
Size and Shape
Tarot decks are usually rectangular, and about 2.75" wide by 4.75" tall.  The most popular decks also have mini and oversized versions available, and there are oddball decks like the round Motherpeace Tarot.
An oracle deck can be any shape or size.  Often, they are both taller and wider than a Tarot deck, the better to hold additional artwork and text.  Oracle decks are rarely shuffled like playing cards, so their size isn't an issue.
Content
Oracle decks are typically light and uplifting.  Fairies, angels, Gods and Goddesses, natural wonders, ancient wisdom, animals and plants are popular themes.  (Compare with a standard Tarot deck, which necessarily contains difficult cards like the Hanged Man, the Devil, and Death.)  Oracle decks are popular among people who shy away from the occult reputation of the Tarot. Their approachability makes oracle decks popular with non-Tarot readers, who may use them for daily inspiration and reflection.  (Many buyers don't "read" oracle decks at all, but instead collect them for their beauty and variety!)
Decks that blur the line
As if all that wasn't complicated enough, there are a few hybrid decks out there that don't fit neatly into either category.  The Osho Zen oracle, for instance, has a Tarot-like suit structure, but also a number of original cards that don't fit the Tarot model.  The Kris Waldherr's Goddess Tarot substitutes an oracle-like sequence of Goddess for the Major Arcana.  You're on your own classifying these decks!
Which is better?
As you may have surmised, the best deck for you depends on how you intend to use it.  Oracle decks make wonderful springboards for discussion and meditation, alone or in groups. They're also well-suited to the "daily draw" style of reading, where you draw a single card to instruct and guide you for the coming day.
However, open-structure oracle decks can have severe limitations when it comes to divination.  Often, the cards are too similar in meaning and tone.  They don't work together to answer questions or tell a story as effectively as the Tarot.  More seriously, most oracle decks suffer from a glut of positivity.  These decks simply lack that cards to describe situations that are difficult or complex, and can come across as maudlin in readings.
Unless you have severe reservations about reading Tarot, I always recommend starting with a Tarot deck.  (Preferably in the Rider-Waite style.)  Since most Tarot decks are fundamentally similar, it doesn't really matter which one.  You can feel free to choose a Tarot deck with artwork that appeals to you.  Once you master the basics of Tarot, this knowledge will stay with you--even if you decide to switch decks at a later time.
That's not to say that oracle decks don't have a place in your magickal library.  Many of them have splendid artwork and original themes that work best outside of the limited structure of Tarot.  With so many fabulous decks available, you may be tempted to collect both!

Alright y’all, so Sunday I’m gonna be taking fic requests! Yes one of those rare days, I just need to sit down and spend a day writing and y’all can give me shit to write.
What the deal is: I’m gonna take requests for shipping, crossover, and au fics on Sunday the 29th of January. They’ll likely be short, although I promise I will try to make sure each is at least 300 words long.
What are the guidelines?: You can request just about anything in the priorly noted categories, including things that fit multiple categories at once. You want Ben Tennyson and Raimundo Pedrosa in a Hogwarts setting? Ask away. You can also include a line you’d like to see used in the fic. Be as loose or as specific with your requests as you’d like.
What are the restrictions?: I will not write NSFW fics, you can send them but if they get written it’ll probably be in a SFW interpretation. I reserve the right to refuse to write ships I’m morally against (whether it’s due to pedophilia, canon abuse, incest between close relatives (Ben goes back in time and mistakenly bangs Max’s grandma? Maybe. Ben bangs Gwendolyn? Not happening.) etc) and to write ships that are NOTPs (don’t even bother, papa).
If you send me a request for a fandom I don’t know I will likely not be writing it, though I will make sure to let you know so you can make another request to take it’s place.
Fandoms I know and will write fic focusing in include:
Ben 10 (feel free to specify universes, fan AUs, etc)
The Librarians
Digimon (excepting season 4 of the anime)
Pokemon (excepting all anime after Johto)
Tenchi Muyo!
Almost Naked Animals (if you’re a fan of this show please send in a request, or at least say hi, I think I might be the only one left)
Xiaolin Showdown
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles
This list isn’t comprehensive and I may have forgotten some, so feel free to ask.
Fandoms I know well enough to write AUs involving them include:
Dragonriders of Pern (please specify what level of canon compliance you’d like)
His Dark Materials (daemon stuffs)
Harry Potter
Heralds of Valdemar (again, if you’re a fan say hi)
Discworld
More general AUs are also acceptable (centaur au, superhero au, horror au, etc) as well as specific, character focused ones (such as AUs where, say, Gwendolyn has Kevin’s powers).
I hope to start writing at 9 am and continue until I run out of requests or collapse on my keyboard. Requests sent in after Sunday will no longer be on the list and be done or ignored solely at my discretion.
If you have any questions, ask here
