So we know that Lucy was in an all-time high about the detective exam. She anxious, worried, and as a result, took it all out on Tim, which is obviously not a good move (she even brought out Isabel in the argument and I was like yikesss 😬). But I would also like to point out that Tim was partially at fault too.

Now here me out. It wasn't 'at your face' kind of fault here. In fact, what Tim did was unintentional.

Throughout the whole shift, his role was The Supportive Boyfriend. But Lucy did not need The Support Boyfriend from Tim (or at least, at that moment). She needed Sargeant Bradford.

I'd like to think that maybe she didn't even realize it. But when he was agreeing with her about holding the exam back for a while, she looked kind of.. shocked? With his answer? As if she didn't expect him to say that. That's because it was a Tim answer, not a Sargeant Bradford's.

S1 Tim wouldn't say what he said in that episode. He would say something like "I didn't train a quitter, boot" or "if you score below 81, I'd consider it a failure." He said those things in prior season when he was still her TO, why wouldn't he say anything like that now?

Maybe because he doesn't want to give more trauma to Lucy, and that is a valid reason. But I'd also like to think that it's because he was unable to differentiate himself as both Sargeant Bradford and Tim and when to use them. It was already established that he couldn't be objective when it comes to Lucy.

Overall, this is a really interesting pivot given how they're always communicating and always find solutions. But when it comes to their insecurities, I'm curious and interested in how they would address this, preferably not solved in 1 or 2 episodes 😅

(My masochist side wants them to prolong this argument to the verge of breaking up so that when they do make up, they would instantly talk about this problem buuut I'm pretty sure it's kind of OOC) saurr 🫠🫠

I'm going to start posting my new fic in the beginning of February! It's going to be dark for sure and it's a slow burn😈 I want to get enough chapters written so I can update it consistently. As far as the name of it, I'm still juggling a few ideas.

I've always had a knack for the dark stuff, and when I started pairing these two together, I saw it as a perfect fit. Luffy absolutely has a thing for pain and no one can convince me otherwise. Something that would make my work stand out.
