Can I hear your thoughts on calling Soshiro the wrong name? Like when I first got into the kn8 fandom, I could never get Soshiro's name right. It's always "Seishiro" as in Nagi Seishiro from Blue Lock 💔. I wonder what his reaction would be to hear his partner calling him a diff guy's name 🤔

being hoshina soshiro's girlfriend has a lot of perks.

first of all, you had never felt safer anywhere you go when he is accompanying you - it's not that you treat him as your personal body guard, but he cannot help to act like one, always on the lookout to protect you. more than everything, nothing beats knowing the simple fact that you are dating an ultra-handsome killing machine who treats you like a princess.

the thing is, being hoshina soshiro's girlfriend also has some downside.

the worst of all is because the vice-captain is famous, it cannot be helped that women and a few men are all over him, competing for a crumb of his attention.

your smile disappeared when you saw another video from the social media influencer you mentioned to hoshina last week. it was a short edited footage of the vice-captain's brief interview after the most recent kaiju attack - his hair wet from perspiration, his long fingers trying to brush his bangs away from his eyes. how hoshina can still look ravishing after killing kaijus is a mystery for you as well - no one should be allowed to be that hot, you thought. "hoshina, date me," the caption reads in an annoying cursive font. you were going to scroll away when you noticed your own boyfriend's personal account among the few thousands who liked the clip - the icon of his profile is at the top of the list. you closed the app, formulating a plan to exact a cruel vengeance against hoshina.

the chance came that same night when hoshina dropped by your apartment for dinner. the entire week is for saving the country, hoshina would tell you, but weekends are always dedicated to movie marathons and cuddling until one of you falls asleep.

"what's the theme for tonight? any preferences?" hoshina asked, pressing buttons in the remote control as he goes over the directory of tv series and chick flicks. "i'm thinking something scary."

"you know if you are looking for a reason to snuggle with me, you can literally just say that, soichiro." there was no change in your tone as you delivered the line, biting the insides of your cheek so you won't burst out laughing. keeping a straight face was not that difficult because hoshina seemed to ignore you.

"the conjuring, then." hoshina sat beside you in the couch after choosing a title, his right arm going around your waist as he leans into you.

you rested your head on his shoulder a bit and inhaled lightly the scent of his shirt. "you smell nice, soichiro."

hoshina's arm dropped faster than you would have expected, and when you glanced at him, you wondered if you had taken this game a bit too far.

"right, what did i do this time?" hoshina did not bothering the show playing in the television, the opening credits rolling in the screen.

"what do you mean?" your words were hurried because you feel you were going to explode in giggles. it is absolutely funny how the most skilled close-quarters combatant of the defense force can react so strongly to being called a different name.

"come on, you calling me by my brother's name is infuriating enough already. you doing it again is just hurting my feelings now. you're never mean without a reason. what is this about?" hoshina's face is earnest now and admittedly, you felt a tiny tinge of guilt.

you sighed. "i don't know, maybe your fans wouldn't be calling you the wrong name. you should date them instead." it came out of your mouth too bitter, but you could not take your statement back. trust has never been an issue between you and hoshina in the years you were together, but you don't suppose it is wholly your fault when you get affected by little things like this.

"if i wanted to, i would," hoshina answered calmly. "but obviously, i don't. because here i am, proposing we watch something scary so you could snuggle with me."

you chuckled and that finally eased the tension. "i'm sorry. i did not mean to ruin our night," you confessed. "i swear to pretend i'm scared of the ghost in the movie so i can cuddle closer to you."

hoshina's eyes carry a certain sparkle whenever he smiles. he leaned on you again then grabbing your hand, linked your fingers together.

"hey, you can always talk to me if something's bothering you, you know that, right? and i'll always try to do better by you," he said before kissing you.

you and your boyfriend never finished the movie but at least by the end of the night, hoshina had made sure you call him by no one else's name by making you moan his.

You have barely enough time to respond to the knocking— or rather pounding— on your door before it's being flung open and Logan, looking very much the part of an angry brother, barges in.

“Is it true?” He asks in lieu of a greeting.

“‘Hi, Y/N,’” you begin sarcastically, rolling your eyes. “‘So good to see you, Y/N. Sorry for barging in, Y/N. Can I have a moment of your time, Y/N?’ Why of course, dearest brother of mine. What can I do for you?”

Logan doesn’t seem amused by your antics, though. His eyebrows are furrowed, his mouth is pinched into a frustrated frown, and his hands are clenched into fists at his sides. He’s in his running clothes, and there’s still sweat keeping his hair plastered to his forehead, which gives you the impression that whatever he’s asking about had been deemed important enough that he couldn’t even be bothered to shower and change before confronting you about it.

You wonder, briefly, if his new trainer is downstairs in the living room or if he’s gone home already. You almost ask about it just to piss him off even more, but he looks genuinely serious and you’ve— mostly— grown past the years of purposefully picking on him to get a reaction.

Instead, you sit up further in bed and look at him expectantly, prompting him with a wave of your hand to elaborate.

“Are you dating Lando Norris?”

The question, and the sincerity with which it’s asked, startles a laugh out of you. The flash of hurt in your brother’s eyes, however, forces you to bite back the immediate retort. Logan isn’t asking to be a dick, you remind yourself.

Before you answer, you pull your legs up to your body and pat at the now free space in front of you.

He purses his lips, but eventually, he closes the door— softer than how he’d opened it— and moves to sit on the edge of your mattress. For a moment, as he looks at you, he doesn’t look like the nearly 23-year-old that he is. When you were younger, he’d come into your room and talk about his races, what all he did wrong, and what new things he was going to try next time, and the young man that sits before you now reminds you a lot of that little boy.

“No,” you answer him simply. “I’m not dating Lando. He and I are just friends.”

He doesn’t look convinced. “But do you want to date him?”

You shake your head and sigh, before grabbing your phone off the bedside table and pulling up the brief text conversation you had with Lando last night after he’d tipsily called you. There’s a frankly obscene amount of typos and more emojis interspersed throughout than you thought a guy like him would use, but the majority of it is all the details of his supposedly foolproof plan.

You take a deep breath, weigh the consequences of your actions for a split moment before throwing caution to the wind, and turning the screen to face Logan.

“I don’t want to date Lando,” you admit. “I want to date Oscar, and he’s helping me.”

Logan’s silent, and you pray that it’s just because he’s too busy reading through the messages to focus on reacting to what you’ve said. But the silence stretches on, and on, and on, and suddenly you regret saying anything. Maybe you should’ve just agreed and said it was Lando all along—

“I know Oscar better than Lando,” Logan suddenly says. “I don’t know why you wouldn’t just ask for my help.”

It’s your turn to be silent now. You open your mouth, close it, open it again, and close it again. You probably look like a fish, but you’re so taken aback by what he’s said that it doesn’t even matter.

“You’re not, like, mad?” You pull your phone back and let the screen fall dark, eyes focused on Logan.

He looks at you like you’re dumb, or like you’ve actually turned into the fish you were momentarily mimicking. He shakes his head— “Why would I be mad? Oscar is, like, the only driver I’d want you to date.”

You raise an eyebrow.

“I mean, the others are all nice, don’t get me wrong,�� he clarifies. “I’m sure they’re all very good partners, and I bet Lando would be an amazing boyfriend. Probably. But I know Oscar. I trust him more than I trust the others because I know for a fact that he’s a genuinely good guy. That first year that we met him, he asked me what your favorite color was to make sure his mom knit you a hat that you would like.”

“That was years ago, Logan…” you trail off.

He shrugs. “So? It’s not like he’s changed that much. When we were still at Prema, and you went through that vegetarian phase, I caught him once looking up restaurants that have vegetarian options so that you could eat with us when we went out to celebrate.”

You glance down, avoiding Logan’s eyes. Picking at a loose thread at the bottom of your shirt, you say, “That was still years ago.”

“What about all the flirting in the comments,” he asks.

You shrug. You’re not even sure yourself. The way Sophia and Lando had explained things to you, it had certainly seemed like flirting, but the lack of his presence on your posts as of late has made you reconsider your initial beliefs and now you’re not sure what to think.

Realistically, all of this could probably be solved if you just texted him and asked— womaned up, as Sophia would say, and confronted him about your feelings. But there’s still that underlying fear of rejection, and you would never be able to live down the mortification if you did something so bold and had your confidence thrown back in your face.

“So you’re just gonna play pretend with Lando and hope Oscar gets jealous and does something about it?” He sounds genuinely confused. “Isn’t that… mean?”

“That’s what I said!” You exclaim, burying your head in your hands with an exasperated groan. “But Lando and Sophia are so adamant that it’ll work, and they have more relationship experience than I do. I don’t wanna manipulate him at all, but I don’t know what else to do to get his attention again other than talking with him, and I think I might actually throw myself into the ocean if I have to do that.”

Logan’s face scrunches up, “‘Again?’”

You purse your lips and awkwardly shrug as if that’s a good enough answer, but his silent stare persists, so you heave a sigh and fall backward against your pillows, glaring miserably up at your ceiling. “We kissed. Once. In Bahrain.”

He stands from your bed suddenly, pulling your gaze back onto him. His hands are on his hips, his brows are still furrowed and his mouth is still turned downward ever so slightly, but he looks less upset and more determined than anything.

“I’m gonna go get cleaned up. Be ready in thirty minutes,” he says. “We’re going out.”

Okay Queelign just gotten more interesting! So user @ereia-lune brought to my attention what Fire Knights really look like:

Very lanky build with arms going below the knees level, like Messmer's body, and red hair like his / curse of the Fire Giants! Like yeah I know I've written like cool analysis on the Fire Knights as characters but I didn't look at the close ups ( 😔 )

Lore says that Fire Knights continue to use Messmer's Fire incantations after his fire failed to find the purchase in them to still share their bond. So, their physical change is apparently result of like.. kinda consanguineal contract with Messmer but flames instead of blood? Or did he give his flames THROUGH blood? Who knows really gfhthc However, Queelign apparently was spared from it! His body type is neglectelable since he uses base NPC model, but making his hair not red is a very bold implication! Perhaps, him not having the red cape like other Fire Knights is also not just a design choice or just for better dexterity, then!

I wonder why he didn't have such contract.. All jokes about even his allies hating him aside, it might be because of him standing out in his fervor. Fire of Ruin (fire giants fire) is literally said to have been an anathema to the Erdtree and thus was the reason Marika wanted to kill it! So if Messmer carries it on, curse karma course of nature conditions of birth whatever is the reason, how would Queelign, THE Marika fanboy, would've reacted if he had a communion with Messmer only to find out that the force to "cleanse" the world of everything going against Marika/Erdtree originates from something that ALSO goes against them like nothing else? It might be not obvious until you sense it in your body, so sure he'd short-circuit upon such an Insight!

Maybe Messmer was willing to spare both Queelign and himself! Black Knight Andreas and his son Huw rebelled against Messmer after learning about his serpentine nature, but Messmer grieved loss of Huw as brother in arms. Maybe he is at the point mentally where he can't handle losing anymore friends, so he'd cherish each and every one even if that meant keeping some things to himself. And like I said before, Queelign feels very much like a window into Messmer's utmost, maybe long regretted and repressed feelings, he is like a little version of himself! He might be annoyed by it, but at the same time maybe wants to protect the absolutely pure, idealistic, puppy-eyed adoration of Marika and feeling like Queelign IS doing something sacred. If he realized the weapon to protect the Erdtree is in actuality the weapon to destroy it, that'd break him, but maybe Messmer wishes he himself didn't know that about his nature. And could still believe he is Marika's true blade. Why not keep Queelign out of it, if at least one of them can remain naive and love her so much and love their purpose so much?

At the same time, it is funny to think about how Queelign is SO absorbed in his purpose that he doesn't even notice he is not invited in the club! XD And whenever he tries to question it, other Fire Knights just go like 'uhhhh noooo you are imagining things..... :/' gfhgfnjn

Something happened since last time the two of them met, so LBMo is reasonably surprised to see Little Baby Man Mer's new form... or is this just an alternative dimension iteration of LBM (by @tourettesdog)? 🤔

Day 26: Shoes/Camouflage

They say that imitation is one of the best form of flattery, but when you don't want to get caught by a certain dimensional hopper (and be mistaken for one of his foes), it's the best way to blend in!

After all, LBM (and therefore LBMer) is still Danny, even if he has new form(s) and instincts.

Day 11: Mutation/Shell(s)

And finally: the answer!

LBM found this weird shell on the beach while they were on vacation, but when he checked it (read: nibbed it), it reacted and tooted a magical cloud that mutated our Little Baby Man into a Mer!

(The same fate happened to Dani/Little Baby Menace and Dan/Little Baby Terror, changing them into a Seahorse Mer and Octopus Mer respectively.

I've got a lineart done of them for another prompt, but I didn't manage in time to clean and color it yet, along with a couple of others... ( ≧Д≦) )

This has two versions because I couldn't decide which was better. @teacupsandstarlight suggested the first because of the transforming smoke around our boi, but since I saved both, I told myself: why not upload both?

I still have some linearts to finish/digitalize/color, but at least I contributed to these two fantastic events, hope y'all enjoyed them and my works!

The Sign surprised me with many things, but most probably with how much I like Tharn (he's actually my fav character now), although I started watching the series for Billy 😎

Billy is one of my favorite actors of BL series, because he perfectly portrays falling in love, being in love and - what I especially note - also being horny for the object of his feelings 😊 Billy in SCOY was PERFECT at it. He's like that in The Sign too. All these sneaky glances and open stares, touches, being focused on the other person - the episode is packed with such little things that add up to growing interest and fascination and a love relationship. I love it, I love it when characters act believable with their feelings, and this IS believable. I thought that Billy would definitely be able to handle it, that he would probably be the main character in this relationship and the burden of carrying this relationship would rest on him. And, oh boy, was I wrong 😍 Because Billy got the perfect partner. Babe as Tharn is *chef's kiss*, what a babe indeed! Let me start by saying that Babe, as Billy is very attractive. He has such a non-obvious beauty, that is, at the same time he is very masculine, but he also has a very delicate, almost feminine beauty, an aura… I don't know what to call it. It's so hot! I love how he plays his character, making Tharn a tough guy with a principles, but at the same time there is such innocence and kindness about him, even a little child-like naivety. I'm not surprised at all that he is liked and evokes protective feelings in everyone (including me). His being in love for the first time in his life is absolutely wonderful, and so real, it has a very "high school, first crush" vibe with being easily flustered, offended, blushing and being turned on by anything, even a voice. That's so sweet! 🧁 I'm not surprised that Phaya is so focused on him and keeps pulling his pigtails, who wouldn't be! Tharn is just so lovely, he can stand up for himself, he's tough but also charmingly innocent and straightforward, teasing him is pure fun and he's so cute when he's flustered. Phaya had no chance from the beginning 🤷‍♀️. Especially from the moment Tharn's voice broke when he said his name after pulling him out of the water 🥺🥺

Anyway: Billy and Babe are my new beloved couple, Saturdays this year are somehow exceptionally rich in well-matched pairs of actors and characters, I mean, there was Laws of Attraction, then Love in Translation, probably more and now them 🥰

(I'm also curious about Tharn's reaction to Phaya's voice in the bathroom scene. Because this reaction, yes, it could just be Tharn being horny, but Phaya speaks with a changed voice and Tharn immediately becomes lost in it and submissive and I wonder if there is some supernatural aspect here 🤔 )

Hey friend 👋 I have this Astarion based inquiry I wanted to ask you. Simply, what type of person do you think he is attracted to?

I wondered after the player + Star's meeting Sebastian in Cazador's lair and Star's mention of a "Darling boy" he met within the 1st decade of he captivity. I'm sure that Cazador is not picky about the type of people that the "family" brings in as long as this person's absence doesn't bring unnecessary attention, which would lean the "family" towards those that are considered to "dregs of society"

Star said to tav that he would try to pick "beautiful people" but eventually stopped caring (not exact wording, something along those lines), althought he didnt specify if be meant apperance or personality, I feel like his choices of Sebastian or "Darling boy" ( shy, naive, sweethearted individuals) are the personalities of person would pick for his own personal escapism for that night.

But my conflicting lies in his approval of a player that does things that are cruel or manipulative. So maybe, he just have a soft spot for people he deems as innocent or naive and not necessarily a romantic attraction, since he seen how cruel the world can be 🤔 I'm sure his preference changed between him being a magistrate, captive and post-game, but I think ideally he'd like someone that's good of heart?

Oooohhhh, that's a neat question to wallow over! Let's see, love, let's see...

I do agree that Astarion seems to have a certain weakness for good-hearted, somewhat naive and innocent individuals - almost golden retriever types - for the same reasons you mention. And, if we nitpick, we could add the fact that he used to dream about someone like Wyll saving him and if Wyll Ravengard is one thing and one thing only it'd be a goodie two shoes. (And he does have his innocent and naive sides as well, doesn't he?)

In the end, I do believe that a good heart is something spawn Astarion admires and looks for in a person. Probably because it feels so strange and alien to him after his years of abuse, something he hasn't seen or experienced in a long time and that he is now drawn to like a moth to light.

But, at the same time, there's a few... limitations. A good heart is one thing, but I have my doubts about how well a relationship like that - one with one of those kind, naive, innocent golden retriever types - would work in the long run.

While we could argue that Astarion has a good heart - which I personally do believe he does, deep down - he isn't innocent or mellow in character. Astarion is a character that tends to see the need for cruelty - and I do think he does enjoy his casual bouts of cruelty as well (think act 1, scaring the tiefling children) - and he is somewhat of a jackarse. A loveable jackarse but a jackarse nonetheless.

If we combine that with his polar opposite - a naive, innocent do-gooder - it makes for a rather...explosive combination.

There's a lot of room for conflict in that connection, because we're faced with very clear differences in core values and believes that are usually hard to navigate.

(In general, every person has a set list of core values that make us who we are. Those values determine not only how we act but also who we surround ourselves with and to form healthy, long lasting relationships - platonic or otherwise - those values need to somewhat overlap between us and the people around us. The less they do, the harder it is to keep a relationship stable. It still is very much possible, but it will require a lot of communication, openness, acceptance and understanding by all involved parties.)

I think that sort of relationship would come with a long list of big and small frustrations. Astarion would be frustrated because why can't they see how this is necessary? Do they always have to save every kitten in distress? Why do they care so. much.!? Can't they just turn and walk away for once? What has the world ever done for them? How can one person be so fucking naive?!

As you can see, the script nearly writes itself. There's a lot of room for disagreement and even more so for annoyance and even infantalising - on part of both parties.

(And if, to top it all of, darling is one of the softer do-gooders - one of those that have trouble standing up for themselves and pushing back when necessary - the relationship could quickly delve into Astarion continuously walking all over them, whether it is intentionally done or by accident.)

As I mentioned before - Astarion is a jackarse. In order to be with someone like that, you need to be able to push back when necessary. Give shit where shit is due to drag him off his high horse. And I think this is something he is well aware of and doesn't necessarily mind. You can call him out on his shit multiple times over the course of the game and, far as I can remember, he doesn't disapprove most of the time - Cazador-centric moments not included. (Example - calling him an arse because he's being a racist shit towards the gur hunter in act 1.)

He needs to be told off just as much as he needs to be agreed with.

And this is, essentially, the problem with the darlings. Realistically speaking, I think there'd be too much disagreement and telling off and not enough agreement in most situations. It lacks balance. A person who is kind hearted and does good but can be cruel and cold if the situation calls for it would probably fare much better with him in the long run because they can see eye to eye when it comes down to it.

So, to answer your question:

I do believe that Astarion has his fantasies about those very lovely, kind and innocent people just as much as anyone. Maybe it's a thought he likes, maybe there's even more to it - we don't know.

But, in its essence, this seems more like one of those fantasies one might have or one of the archetypes one might like that aren't all too feasible in reality. You know, like how some people love the classic Tall Dark Dangerous but if they ever were to meet one of them in person, they'd probably be throwing hands.

(It's me, I'm some people.)

And sure, this might work for a night. Chat up the innocent and kind person, seduce them and, dare I say, corrupt them with a little bit of himself for one night - if only to escape reality, as you mention -... yeah. Yeah, seems feasible.

But a relationship with someone who he actually CAN see eye to eye with at least half the time would likely be much more realistic and sustainable and I think it's something he himself is well aware of, which is precisely why we gain the approval the way we do.

It's a fantasy. And some fantasies are meant to remain as such.

Luckily, attraction is based on a great many factors and can change the better you get to know a person! So, while he might initially be more attracted to a prince charming, that attraction can quickly fade. Meanwhile, someone who's the furthest from innocent and kind can become more attractive the more time is spent with them. Attraction is lovely like that, it's willing to shift and morph into anything for us!

But I keep wondering if there is some illness that Bucky could suffer from. I'm thinking of things like: E.g. stroke, aneurysm, heart attack, Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease. Would there be any impact in the long term? Or does the serum prevent him from generally getting such “diseases of civilization”? Or, if he suffers from it, does the serum help him to recover where a "normal" human being wouldn't been able to? It's said in some places that Hydra didn't use the same serum that Steve got, so it might perhaps be within the realm of possibility (I mean, we're talking about non-existent things like super soldier serum) that such "side effects " may occur? I know you're not a medical professional, but I really value your opinion and in-depth knowledge of Bucky and have enjoyed reading many of your assessments of him.

In TFATWS Isaiah spoke of his squad of men all dying from the effects of the serum. In the comics, Isaiah did have two major weaknesses as a side effect of the serum: he got early dementia and he was rendered infertile. This is not true of TFATWS!Isaiah though, because he looks like he’s well in control of his mental faculties.

I feel like the serum, if it was flawed, would kill rapidly because of how powerful its effects on cells are. It's supposed to increased strength, endurance, stamina, speed, healing and longevity; we also know that it increased metabolism of alcohol (and maybe other drugs too).

But what are the side effects on increasing strength, stamina and speed? Presumably they would need a much higher energy intake than the normal person to maintain the function of the muscles (and their level of activity). Presumably there would be cascading changes on insulin sensitivity and energy storage. What happens when they become sedentary? Do they store a lot of that excessive energy on their body like Alexei? Or do they get the zoomies because their body is forcing them to burn off the excess energy? What does it mean for sleep? Are they needing more sleep because of the energy expenditure, or less sleep because of the rapid rejuvenation? What does that change in sleep cycle mean when they have to live amongst normal humans? And how do they balance their meals against that?

The higher metabolism is interesting, because does that mean a higher rate of cell turnover? In most normal humans, we know that higher cell turnover rates mean bigger chances of mutations, hence things like chronic inflammation increases risks of cancer. Sure, healing speed might be fast, but sometimes it’s a matter of quality over speed, you know? Are they closing wounds or replacing lost blood but actually spawning cancerous cells? Sometimes I wonder if a lot of Isaiah’s squad may have died from cancer like these 🤔 There is an interesting bit of DNA on our chromosomes called the “telomere”, that seems to be somewhat of a genetic marker for “best before date”, if you will. When the telomere gets shorter, there are higher incidences of age-related diseases, but I’m not sure we’ve figured out which is the chicken or the egg 🤔 The reason I bring it up is we don’t know how the increased metabolism given by the serum will affect the mechanisms for cell repair. Do the cell repair happen faster too? Or do they — as you point out — hit a physiological roadblock and after that it’s all down hill?

And finally, what does the serum do to mental health specifically? Not just the improved memory or the heightened senses (leading to heightened anxiety), but physiological changes can definitely cause emotions, eg people with fast thyroid or fast heart rate feeling anxious and jittery all the time. If your energy is always elevated, how do you let your mind rest? If you’re not able to fall asleep, how does your brain repair itself and consolidate memories? And what is the psychological effect of always living on juice? Is that what drives comics!Isaiah to an early dementia?

Sorry, this raised far more questions than it answered! I think it is definitely possible that there are long term side effects of the serum that we don’t know about. Although I suspect a MCU was thinking is “magic mcgaffin juice, heals all illnesses” which I guess is all you need when the original point of the story is that the physique didn’t matter as much as the man inside, and what was most important was he was going to punch Nazis.

i think ed and double dee have a special bond that we see some of in the show, but in my head of course it goes deeper. for example, i really like the scene in "to sir with ed" when ed is over at double dee's house late at night and they're just hangin out. it's one of my favorite little scenes because i feel like it gives a brief but interesting view into their friendship outside of the trio's dynamic.

we can pretty safely assume that ed's parents don't give a shit about him and frankly don't want to be around him, hence the removal of the basement staircase at least once. they're (mostly his mom) so blinded by their detestation for their son that they forgot they'd need to do laundry at some point. and you guys know what i think of dee's parents. they don't give a shit about him outside of how good or bad he makes them look.

i think the two really connect because of their lack of caring parents and for being kids who spend a lot of time alone, and are probably comfortable with/used to solitude, but crave the company of another person. i imagine that on a lot of summer nights when the boys are parting ways, eddy goes home and does whatever he does. but the other two go to edd's house to hang out until they're ready to go to bed. ed's parents wouldn't notice he's gone and edd's parents rarely come home before midnight.

their time together consists of science experiments where edd gets to teach his friend about things he thinks are cool. whether or not ed absorbs the knowledge is another story. they build models together, and watch gory horror movies while critiquing the practical effects. edd gets his hands on a taped surgical procedure and they watch between handfuls of popcorn. i think they'd also enjoy doing their own thing while in the same room; ed drawing while dee is studying or compulsively organizing, etc. i wonder if they ever make fun of eddy behind his back... 🤔

in the show, i see ed being somewhat of a protector of dee. he doesn't process a lot of the things dee says or does, but cares nonetheless and sometimes anticipates things that might upset his delicate friend. whereas with double dee, he takes on an almost parental/motherly role for ed. he tries to guide and teach him, but also wishes to keep his innocence intact as much as possible. he's also sensitive to his friend's feelings and reactions, though he might not really understand them. i could see him wanting to mentor ed in things like hygiene and other basic life skills that his parents neglected. he's not very successful in his efforts though.

ed and dee do, of course, get on each other's nerves for similar reasons. ed doesn't always want to learn about quantum mechanics and the clinical quality of dee's house creeps him out, in a bad way. a little filth would really liven up the place. double dee really wishes ed would take a shower - why, he'd even provide the hypoallergenic soap! he also struggles with ed's one track thinking and tendency to (unintentionally?) disrupt and destroy. one thing i find hilarious in the show is that most of the time when dee is frustrated with ed, he calls on eddy to handle it. there's something interesting about that, but i'm not fully prepared to delve into that right now lmao. maybe it's because double dee doesn't know how to get ed to change behavior barring physical force and he's not comfortable doing that (aside from the band-aid method). but eddy'll do it! i imagine ed's response to being upset with dee would be to utterly zone out and forget about it entirely in five minutes. but he might also purposely continue to piss him off for shits n giggles. he secretly wants to see double dee's "dark side" really badly.

anyway, those are just some thoughts and hcs i had the momentary mental energy to gather in one place. nothing revolutionary, but fun to share nonetheless. thanks for reading!

Just finished reading chapter four and I love it! The talk with Yvette was very aggravating! (The fact that she came asking for help from the child she abandoned) But it was satisfying at the same time, I chose to still hate her, and I’m glad we get the chance to give her a piece of our mind. Couldn’t give her a second chance. Especially knowing that at Viktor’s funeral, Luka gave her a chance to take MC and acknowledge him, and she refused! And the fact that her only reason for abandoning her child is protecting her career and fame. And every time she says this excuse and brings up Belladonna, it makes me nauseous. She didn’t even deserve the chance Luka gave her at the funeral, but fine, she was the only parent left for MC now, so it makes sense for Luka to give her a chance in case she wants to raise her child now. But she still REFUSED! UNBELIEVABLE! I’m just very thankful for Uncle Luka and think he has all the right to prevent her for visiting MC at all. Anyway, I’m rambling 😂 because I’m so angry at this mother! XD I still chose that I agreed to the arrangement to help her too though. So, I was thinking. My MC is ruthless but for some reason Santana makes me not wanna be ruthless. He’s so pure and I want to protect him so he stays that way. I want to help him and give him hope that he can succeed in this city with an upright moral compass. So I was wondering if we can maybe.. have Santana talk with ruthless MC about… their ruthlessness XD and then have a counter for when we pick merciful choices after that. Or when we avoid unnecessary killings and such. And have it acknowledged by people around MC that they changed after meeting Santana or something 🙈 I dunno why I want that it’s just Santana makes me want to be nice 🥺 You might have a totally different approach in mind though! So I’m so sorry if it sounded like I’m imposing what I’d like to happen. You can just totally ignore my suggestion. 🤣

Oh, one last question, during the mission after killing the police commissioner. We encounter five people. We kill four of them while one (their leader) escapes. Does she always escape or does it depend on our choices? (My ruthless MC don’t wanna leave loose ends 😈)

That’s why I released the Luka & Yvette Funeral Talk side story first; because I think it is quite important. Although, for now, I’m planning to also add an option for MC to ask Luka why he wouldn’t allow Yvette to visit in the next chapter, and he would basically tell the short of what happened in the side story.

Things I Noticed While Writing Light The Fuse: Part 14, Episode 5

This one is just. They didn't have to do this for us but they did. They really did. 😳

Nothing could've prepared us for this strength reveal. Matty in a tanktop again with such an awful pitching form. Ethan's super wide stance and the fact that he really thought he could catch up to it. That ball doesn't even touch ground in the park, and Matty completely knew this was coming, maybe he was hoping he'd take it easy on them this time.

You can also hear a clocktower go off here, and I'm not sure if it's signaling 2, which means Gary should be making his drop (I wanted them to arrive at the same time to keep everything on schedule but the fact that they're just playing ball while Gary is at Percy's to kill time is funny to me), or if it's a generic gong to signal the hour

The first shot is actually slightly longer in the extended ep and I only noticed when my subs didn't match up to Hulu's version (what I'm using for this series), and that's the only change to this whole scene. But this convo is so important, this whole time Matty has just been bragging to cops about Ethan's murder and now he wants to actually know about it, be trusted with that information other than 'yeah that happened'.

And it would be so easy for Ethan to keep lying as he's been doing, just twist the truth enough to keep them away from his reality, but he doesn't, and even though it's just them playing baseball together for the fun of it instead of having this convo on the river or at the 707, that makes this scene so important to me I had to write it twice in my fic, one for the dialogue and one for the baseball, but both so intimate in their own way, I knew I couldn't do it any other way

The shoes! I was finally gunna talk about the shoes! And then I looked up and realized that his undershirt is over a bit too much and he's flashing us just the teeniest amount and my brain turned to radio static again 😵😳😵

Okay I'm back, but the shoes! I love his shoes so much! Look at the heels on those things! And he has them in white too like these are just his favourite brand of shoes! I was trying to find out how tall he was and imdb said 6'1 and out loud I went 'no he's fuckin not' cause he's shorter than Johnson in all their scenes with the heels, and his are like very thin on his own boots, so some wires are getting crossed here 🤔 but I know that no matter what he's still taller than me and that's all that matters

Anyway everyone needs to appreciate Matty's fashion, I know Johnson eats with every outfit like the vest in this ep is so damn good but Matty with his western arrow shirt and his fancy belt and then normal jeans and thick-heeled shoes are just 😚👌

I wonder if they talked about it in the scenes where Ethan wasn't around, cause in canon he ditches them to talk to Doris more than they're ditching him to make out so they still get time to talk alone offscreen, and again this is the first and only time Matty questions it. I feel like Johnson already has some doubts since the subs make him say or instead of yeah as a full mock, like he already has that good a read on him that he knows something might be up even if Ethan has only ever said it in fear and full confidence, a big difference than my fic for once since I had him say it in order to help Ethan speak more easily.

I would seriously pay for an entire show just with them, split season 2 into them and then everyone else lol just gimme every single second possible with them please

Finally, Ethan tells the truth, as detailess as possible, but still, this is what happened. Matty and Johnson looking at each other instead of him during this is interesting, I wonder if they've already gone over the little details he'd shared before so this is Matty confirming his own thoughts and Johnson wanting to again get right to the meat of it, just like when he was talking about his mom, he always manages to do this when no one else can

Yes, Ethan! Question it! Tell them everything and have them still accept you because they like having you here even if it doesn't make sense! The entire time they're not even looking at him, they're going over the possibility that he heard wrong and he isn't a murderer, he doesn't have to be here because his life is still safe. Maybe Matty was already having doubts on Cop Night when the cop didn't get the APB so he's been talking to Johnson about it, and still all this is changing nothing

Okay Ethan, I need you to listen to me very carefully. I need you to look them in the eye, then look me in the eye, and tell me personally that it was Meredith who made you feel less alone. They were skeptical when mk had brought you to them as what happened between with spider queen but tried to be opened minded as you’re only a child that needs a parental figure.

Tang would tell you stories and somehow lets you eat his noodles as well.

Pigsty was skeptical still but tried to not hold it against you as you’re a kid and don’t know what your mother did and he’s not going to tell you until you’re old enough to handle the truth.

Tang had given you a doll, it was a stuffed monkey and pig while pigsy gave you a noodle plush.

Over all they start to make sure you’re well taking care of and they also make sure you’re away from the not mayor if he’s still alive.

It was huntsman who brought you to sandy as he remembered his lady saying that she has a daughter that they needed to protect and so he quickly went to the lair and started looking until he finally found you.

And with how you seemed stress on not seeing your mother anymore Sandy’s cats help you out a lot of times, they even make a cuddle pile around you for comfort.

Sandy gives you tea and already treats you like a daughter right away while it takes time for huntsman as he was the one who served you mother and think of you as more of a princess than a daughter but that soon changed when you called them by parental names.
