this is from the next chapter of 'tis the damn season (which has somehow ended up double the length of all the other chapters)

Chapter 6

James has done his best to ignore his feelings for Regulus. He’s also done his best to ignore the fact that tonight, he and Regulus will be sharing a bed. It’s been inevitable ever since Marlene first suggested the idea of making the garden lights an overnight trip. Every time James gets a message in the group chat with a link to a cottage, he scrolls through the photos, trying to figure out which bed might be theirs. Which one he’ll end up in with Regulus, the warmth of his body heat radiating under the blankets, the smell of eucalyptus on his pillow, a half-drunk peppermint tea on the nightstand. The cottage Marlene actually booked has five bedrooms, and James has memorized each one. Sitting at the table now, he finds his mind drifting again to what it will be like to sleep in the same bed as Regulus—just sleeping,  of course—not sleep with him. Although, James has been thinking about that the past few days too. Head drifting back to thoughts of how his lips felt, the slide of his tongue, what his skin might feel like under his hands.  Since accepting his feelings for Regulus, they’ve only grown more intense with each passing day. It’s as if everything he’s felt has been caged behind his ribs, just waiting to spill out.

Sirius Black had been born into magic. Magic was his birthright as firstborn, as heir to the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black. Magic was his status, higher than anyone else's.

As he grew up, magic became his punishment, as his mother screamed at him. It became his refuge as well, learning whatever he could to protect his little brother, hoping for Hogwarts as a refuge.

Then magic became his friends, James's embrace, Peter's care, Remus's calm, the pranks planned in the dorm, the pride in wearing Gryffindor colours as his whole family shunned him because he didn't need them and their ideas anymore.

Magic was Prongs, Wormtail and Padfoot bouncing outside on full moon nights along with Moony, magic was everything they poured into the Marauder's map.

Magic was Euphemia's hugs and Fleamont's healing potions when he fell through their fireplace, bloody and broken at sixteen.

Yes, Sirius Black had been born into magic. Yet it was only when he finally got to place his lips on Remus's, only when he got to finally kiss the boy he had been in love with for forever that he truly understood what magic meant.

anyone wanna talk about how irving had 23 stab wounds in him after hickey killed him. 23 stab wounds, as in the same number of stab wounds in the corpse of julius caesar. the coup staged by cassius, who was fueled by malice and ambition, and led by brutus, who was fueled by a righteous hope for a better rome. how hickey watched the carnivale fire, and found he was the only one who could save the men dying inside. the attempt from command to bring joy to the men Literally burnt down in front of him. he lost all faith in their ability and decided himself a saviour. how he's fueled in equal parts, within his delusioned mind, by righteousness and ambition. he wants the men to survive—if only to validate his own attempts to save them—but he also wants the status of leading them. something about fitzjames describing himself in his story as "caesar crossing the rubicon." something about carnivale being emblematic of the great fire of rome. something about fitzjames watching his carnival burn down while dressed as a roman emperor. something about the great fire of rome happening under nero, not julius caesar. something about hickey wearing fitzjames' boots after looting his corpse. something about hubris and spectacle and trying to be someone you're not

I just finished Severance, and honestly, I think the best solution might just be for Gemma/Ms. Casey, Helly/Helena, and Mark Scout/Mark S. to head on out to that remote birthing cabin in the woods so they can talk this all out. They might need to use the OTC and/or knock out Helena to get her there, but I think they could do it, this is long overdue. Also, if Cobel really build all of this, she should be able to create more locations and methods for the innies/outties to switch each other out.

I suppose Dylan can come too, but that's just so he can be reintegrated. Then he can go home to his family and have the wonderful family life he deserves. 💕

Dorcas' father died when she was young and soon her mother married Hope Lupin who had two sons of her own Romulus and Remus

Remus and Dorcas grew up as best friends and became step siblings

Dorcas became a keeper for the Quidditch team because of her older step brother Romulus

Romulus was also a keeper and introduced her to Quidditch when they were younger

When Dorcas got to Hogwarts she was keeping track of when everyone was being called up to be sorted. She knew she and Remus wouldn't be sorted into the same house and was scared to be separated from her best friend. When McGonagall got to the Ms Dorcas brased herself only for McGonagall to call out the name Marlene McKinnon instead

Because Dorcas was so shocked at her name not being called she didn't have time to prepare herself and had hated Marlene ever since

Dorcas always "hated" Marlene because she was so unpredictable

Dorcas became friends with Iola Hillicker and they reminded friends throughout Hogwarts despite having little in common

In their fourth year during a game a seven minuets in heaven Dorcas came to an allowance with James Potter (someone she had disliked beforehand) and came up with rules to their friendship. One of which was to never say "I love you" unless it was for a dramatic goodbye

Dorcas called James "Jim" and he called her "Cas"

Before Dorcas went on her killing spree she sent a letter to James and ended it with "I love you"

When Dorcas became captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team she refused to have Bruce Mulciber on the team because of the attacks he had been preforming on Muggleborn students. Evan, Barty and Regulus heavily disagreed with this decision which kickstarted Dorcas' doubt in her friends
