Bachira x Oliver x Reader {Love Triangle} Series

“How’d you like the aquarium, Y/N?” Bachira asks as you two exit the building.

“It made my day, honestly. It got me feeling super nostalgic from when we would go to the one in Chiba growing up.” You say.

“I knew you’d get it. I’m glad I could make your day.” He says with a smile. “Are you hungry? I could definitely eat.”

“Yea, are there any cafes nearby? I definitely need a coffee.” You say pulling out your phone.

Bachira places his head on your shoulder so he could see your phone as you look up a cafe within the area. With no hesitation, he closes the gap between both your bodies. His chiseled abdomen pressed up against your backside. He’s always been awful with personal space.

You never minded it when you were younger but as an adult it’s a whole different story. Especially when he looks so mature now. He grabs your hand and starts leading the way as if he knows where he’s going. You laugh and start telling him the directions so he can continue leading. Once you two get there, you order your things and pick a table to sit at.

“You didn’t have to pay for me, Meguru. Thank you.” You say sweetly.

“Of course, I had to pay. I’m not some kind of monster.” He says jokingly.

“Well……” you say in a high pitched voice.

You both share a laugh right before your phone starts ringing. It’s Zina.

“Excuse me, My friend is calling. I need to take this. I’ll be back okay?” You say as you grab your phone and walk outside.

“Hey girl, what’s up?” You answer the phone.

“Tell me why Oliver just called Shidou looking for you?”

You roll your eyes and say, “I don’t know why. He wasn’t really concerned about me last night.”

“What do you mean? You two fucked right?”

“Yea, we did. An hour after we did it, I was laying beside him, just resting my eyes. I hear him straight up sweet talking to a girl back home. He was speaking Japanese. I never told him I spoke and he must have thought I was sleeping.” You explain.

Zina gasps as Shidou bursts out into laughter in the background of the phone call.

“HAHAHAAHAHAHA, OHHHH HES DONE.” Shidou says hysterically.

“And his ass was on the phone with her for like 20 minutes!! I heard the entire conversation! He wasn’t trying to hide shit because he thought there was a language barrier.” You further explain.

“You’re better than me girl. I would have risen from my slumber and murdered his ass.” Zina says.

“Right, but instead I just left early as fuck and hung out with Bachira. He’s so sweet. We’re at a cafe right now.”

“Did you hit up Bachira first?”

“No, he texted me this morning saying he couldn’t stop thinking about me and he wanted to see me. I was lowkey hoping he’d want to see me.”

“Ooooo, do you like Bachira?” Zina eggs you on.

“He’s definitely fine as fuck now that we’re older. He was cute to me when we were kids and I definitely had a crush on him. But if I do anything with him, I want it to be serious. I wouldn’t want to play games with him.” You admit as you stare at him through the window of the cafe.

“Y/N, Y/N, Y/N, the world is what you make it babes. I’m sure he feels the same way.” Zina says.

“That’s wishful thinking. He’s always been about football and I don’t want to distract him from his goals. So we will seeee.” You say.

“Wait, Y/N! What did Oliver say to the girl he was on the phone with?” Shidou asks.

“Sir, I don’t even know if you’re on my team. I will not be discussing my business in front of the enemy’s friend any further. and you better make sure you don’t say anything, Shidou, or so help me GOD.” You threaten.

“She’s serious, Shidou. You don’t wanna see her crash out.” Zina doubles down.

“Your secret is safe with me.” Shidou sings.

“Good. I need to get back to my dateeee.”

“Don’t stay out too late! We work tomorrow!” Zina says.

You hang up the phone and head back inside to Bachira.

“Everything okay?” He asks as you sit down.

“Yea, Zina just wanted to make sure I’m safe. She’s glad I’m with you right now.” You take a small sip from your coffee.

“And not with Oliver?” He says with a smirk plastered on his face.

You scoff and say, “Yea definitely not.”

Bachira leans forward and says, “Whhhaa!! You guys didn’t have fun last night?”

You roll your eyes and say, “It was alright. He’s nothing but a one night stand. If anything, I did it to humble his ass. Ano Aho (That Idiot).” You say.

“You’re still the same sadistic girl. Glad to see some things don’t change.” Bachira says. “He didn’t do anything to hurt you, right?” He says seriously.

You blush over the fact that he’s being protective over you.

“No, I’m not hurt. He’s just a massive player and cheater. I don’t like how he makes girls fall in love with him, just to dump them. Granted I knew this about him the minute I saw him. I just want to give him a taste of his own medicine.” You admit.

“My little sadist. You get off from this, don’t you? Playing this little game?” He says, leaning back in his chair.

“Wait, what’s the plane number?” Bachira says, tapping away at his phone.

“No way, that’s the same plane the team is boarding tomorrow evening. We’re the rich clientele in question.” Bachira says with a smile on his face.

Checkmate. The universe must be joining in on the fun because now you get to be on a plane with both men for damn near 15 hours. Oliver isn’t getting a lick of attention from you, only what’s mandatory for your job. Zina can do the rest.

“This is too funny. I gotta let Zina know.” You say getting your phone out.

You put your phone down and take another sip of your tea. Bachira finishes his bakery item and says, “I’m excited to see you attend my flight… attend to my flight?”

You laugh and say, “Yeah, you get to see me in my little uniform.”

Bachira cheeks turn a deep pink at the thought of you in your work uniform. Of course, your uniform isn’t nearly as slutty as he’s imagining it to be. He was good at hiding it but he really was excited to be able to spend more time with you again tomorrow, even if you will be working.

You and Bachira finished your treats and took the drinks to go. You two just started walking, no plan insight. You visited many stores: taking pictures of each other, trying on clothes, and just enjoying each other's company.

You both were so captivated by each other; couldn’t help but to smile ear to ear when you were together. On your walk back, you pass an open field. There was a football and goal sitting on the grass.

“You wanna play?” Bachira smirks.

“Is it really playing if you’re going up against me? Sounds like a murder.” You say honestly.

“Don’t give me that!? We grew up together! You don’t remember what I taught you?” Bachira says as he runs towards the ball.

“I remember a little. My touches are …okay but my passes are shit.” You admit.

He kicks the ball toward you. You stop it right under your foot.

“Meguuu,” you whine. “I am not dribbling in front of the dribbler.”

You roll your eyes and start running with the ball. You keep the ball close to your feet by low dribbling. Bachira starts to smile as you switch to a slow unstable version of a hockey dribble.

“Am I doing this right?” You say staring down as you dribble the ball with the inner part of your feet.

Bachira comes up behind you and takes the ball from between your feet. You trip over his ankle, expecting to fall flat on your face but before you do he wraps his arm around your waist.

“I got you. You’re unstable as hell.” He says pulling your back up against him. “You did good considering you haven’t dribbled since we were kids.”

There he goes again, no personal space. This time you couldn't hide how flustered he made you. You would move out the way but he still has his hand on your stomach.

“You want me to show you some tricks?” He says in your ear.

You nod your head, yes. He kicks the ball in front of the two of you and starts doing the craziest shit you’ve ever seen. After a few minutes, a crowd of kids stand next to you asking you about him. You happily told him that he’s a footballer from Japan. When he finishes, he signs a few autographs and speaks to the kids for a moment but he’s only looking for your approval. He runs back to you and pulls you into a sweaty hug just like he used to.

“Meguuuu!” You whine as you struggle to get out of his grasp.

“How cool was that?” He says holding onto you.

“You’re dribbling is insane! You’ve improved so much as a player….. Obviously.” You say.

He lets you out of the hug and throws his arm over your shoulder as you two begin walking.

“Where to now?” You ask.

“It’s getting pretty late, would you like to order room service at the hotel? I know you work tomorrow so I won’t keep you for long.” He says.

You agree even though you know Oliver is also staying at that hotel. You couldn’t care less if he saw you with Bachira. The walk back to the hotel was slow and filled with vulnerable conversation.

You asked how his mom was and how much his life changed after you left. He admitted that he spent so much time alone and thought of you often. It wasn’t until he got accepted in this football program called Bluelock that he made any friends. He lights up as he spoke so highly about his friend, Isagi. Once you two make it back to the hotel, you head to the floor that the whole team is staying on.

“Meguru!” A voice calls from behind the two of you.

You both turn around to see a black haired man, the same height as Bachira.

“Yoichiiii, let me introduce you! This is Y/N.” Bachira sings as his teammate approaches us.

“Nice to meet you, Y/N. I’m Isagi Yoichi.” He says bowing slightly.

“Hi, pleasure to meet you. I’ve heard a lot about you.” You respond with a bow.

“Where are you headed off to?” Bachira asks.

“Dinner with Chigiri.” He makes brief eye contact with you with a slight smirk. Almost like he knew something you didn’t.

“Y/N and I were just about to order room service for dinner. Have fun with Chigs.” Bachira says.

“You two enjoy your dinner. I’ll see you around.” Isagi says as he walks past the two of you.

The hotel room was the same as Olivers, as expected. The only difference is that Bachira had little trinkets and souvenirs all in a designated area.

“Make yourself comfortable.” He says as he takes off his shirt leaving on his baggy jeans.

You bite your lip taking in how muscular he is. You haven’t seen him since you were 16. This is 23 year old Meguru. His shoulders were broad while his waist and hips were small. He definitely hid all this well under the baggy clothes he loves to wear.

“You’re still an exhibitionist, huh?” You joke as you plop down on his bed, laying your back on the fluffy comforter.

He scoffs and says, “like you haven’t seen it before.”

You giggle in response as you continue skimming the menu.

“I think out of all of these things, you’d like Pannenkoeken which is just their version of pancakes.” You say.

He scoots closer to you, making sure he’s close enough to read the menu off the phone.

“Yummy, dessert for dinner. What are you getting?” He asks.

“Probably the Stamppot. You know I’m more of a savory person.” You say adding both food items and checking out. “It says it’ll take like 40 minutes, dinner rush.”

“Sweet.” He says, closing his eyes.

You put his phone down to your side and look up at the ceiling. You think about your time with Bachira, all the things he said and how he couldn’t seem to keep his hands to himself. A certain part of your conversation with him kept replaying in your head.

“My little sadist. You get off from this, don’t you? Playing this little game?” He says.

“It’s one of the many things I get off from.” You say.

April already? Time is flying, I feel like we barely entered 2025 and now it's April? Feels unreal almost.

I have no work today, so I'm going to spend as much time as I can on stuff that I really need and really want to do! I've done pretty good at getting stuff done lately, especially with school stuff, so I really want to keep that sort of momentum going to try and be more successful as the school semester comes to an end.

I feel like that's a good amount of stuff to have gotten done yesterday, given I really wasn't feeling like doing much. Work had been so tiring lately, I'm almost glad the semester is ending because of the toll that work is taking on me physically now. On the bright side, I should be getting promoted in April, so hopefully, things ease up once that happens.

I want to start studying languages again, and of course I'm stuck between my favorite three: Spanish, Korean, or Japanese. I have lots of Japanese study resources, I live in a high population of Spanish speakers, and I listen to lots of music and media in Korean. Which one(s) do I start with to ease back into it? Pick one? All three? Help a girl out!!

It's always such a relief to find out I can still read and understand Japanese. I've seen posts a few times by people in their 40s and older who talk about how as you get older you lose hobbies and interests. I used to be very passionate about language learning; I guess in place of art for many years it kept me going. I've wanted to be a polyglot since I was 14 and Japanese was the first language I chose to learn. And I did, I studied pretty diligently in my free time since 2013. Becoming a translator was a big goal of mine; Another one of those goals that was just kinda made impossible by circumstance because I either didn't have the money, time, or access to a school or qualifying course. Now its 2025 and its been probably a year since I last picked up a book in Japanese. I think I've been scared to make time for it because language skills are finicky and its disheartening to find out you've regressed. But I picked up a book from my shelf, sat down with a dictionary, and was able to read the prologue with relative ease. I only had to look up maybe 10 words in 5 pages. Realistically, its not like 10 years of work will just disappear in 1 year. But still, I'm grateful. I hope I can make more time for it again.

my friend dave has an ongoing newsletter project where he surveys songs from what is to me an unfathomably broad set of genres & regional scenes and compiles a weekly CD-length mix of the stuff that sticks. one of my loose 2024 resolutions - and the only one of the "fun" ones i kept - was to listen to more new-to-me music, and keeping up (mostly) with the mixes here wound up being the main way i did that, so i thought i'd link it here in this pre-new year's window for anyone looking for a low-stakes fun resolution, or anyone who wants to diversify their listening in 2025.

it's genuinely hard for me to imagine the casual music listener for whom this project would not offer at least some broadening of perspective; any given mix is as likely to include chart-toppers from the US or korea or brazil or quite literally wherever else as it is to include experimental jazz or indie rock from the perpetual 2004 of the montreal scene; a single mix opened with "espresso" as it was rising and went on to include a four-track run of icelandic electro, polish hyperpop, francophone synth-pop, and disco-infused farsi pop, all with youtube counts in the triple digits or lower (along with "fuh spite," a raunchy trinidadian dancehall banger that was one of my favorites of the year).

you can get a taste for the breadth on display by starting with the best of 2024 post, which features, among other things, brazilian funk, alt-country, alt-pop reggaeton, mellow russian rock by an erstwhile rapper, amapiano (a south african dance genre i am passingly familiar with basically entirely thanks to this newsletter), spunky irish tween rap, pop in thai, iralian, & other languages, kesha, and, of course, slut me out 3, which, like the rap banger that made it into my spotify top 10 from a band whose name i don't know because i can't read japanese, i first encountered through dave's mixes. give it a try! it's fun!

❁ My background in language learning: I was monolingual until I was seventeen, and was entirely self-taught in all of my languages for three years before I began my current university course. I was also homeschooled for my final years of school, so I learned my languages alongside teaching myself my other school subjects!

❁ Languages I speak and why:

1. English, my native language

2. Bengali/Bangla 🇧🇩/🇮🇳: Bangla is my fiancé’s native language, I’m learning it because I love him very much (and also to communicate with his family, which I hope will become mine too). I started learning 11 months ago, and my progress has been slower than usual due to a lack of resources ): but it is a truly beautiful language and I love studying it. I am unsure of my level but I understand the majority of conversational language, though I lack confidence in speaking.

My goal for Bangla in 2025: Gain more confidence in speaking, improve my pronunciation and expand my vocabulary. I would like to be able to communicate fluently enough by the end of the year!

3.Irish/Gaeilge 🇮🇪: I am Irish, and began to learn some basics in school, but ended up forgetting the majority of it and had to relearn. I’ve been studying Irish seriously for three years, and I believe my language level is around C1. I received a H1 grade (96%) in my leaving certificate Irish exam, and while I did not continue with Irish at third level, I take a lot of pride in my language and I’m trying my best to maintain it!

My goal for Irish in 2025: maintain my current level

4. Japanese 🇯🇵: I started learning Japanese in late 2021 due to my interest in Japanese literature and manga. I studied mainly with a focus on JLPT, but I also sat the Japanese leaving certificate exam (H1, 100%). I’ve been trying to sit the N1 exam for two years (we only have the December exam here in Ireland, and it keeps clashing with my Christmas exams ): ) but I hope that this will be the year! I also study Japanese at university, so I now receive much more opportunities to participate in extra-curricular events relating to Japanese.

My goal for Japanese in 2025: Unfortunately my language level has not improved much at all in the last year or two, so other than passing the N1 my goal is also to change that. Also, I can read far more kanji than I can remember how to write as I focused on study for the JLPT, but I need to be able to write 2,000 kanji for my degree so kanji writing is a huge focus this year!

5. French 🇫🇷: My father is ethnically French but I unfortunately did not grow up speaking it. I learned some basic words and phrases when I was very young, but started studying seriously in 2022. I have a C1 level and also received a H1 (100%) grade in the leaving certificate. I now study French in university.

My goal for French in 2025: I do not really actively study French outside of my assignments anymore, but I would like to read more novels and improve my vocabulary! I have no real plans to study for the C2 exam yet

6. Hindi 🇮🇳: I studied the basics of Hindi (A1 level) last summer, but unfortunately entirely fell out of practice since I started uni in September ): I sadly still don’t have much time to give to it and have mostly forgotten the little I learned, but I do plan to pick it back up this year!

I suffer from chronic pain and commute 3h a day to university, which I struggle with and can make it difficult to keep up all of my languages

Despite studying languages at uni and despite language learning being my main hobby, I am actually really shy when it comes to speaking. I worry constantly about making mistakes, my pronunciation, stuttering etc. I much prefer written and aural exams for this reason.

Natsume’s Book of Friends: Hazuki no Shirushi launches June 5, 2025 in Japan for Switch, PC - Gematsu

Adventure game Natsume’s Book of Friends: Hazuki no Shirushi will launch for Switch and PC via Steam on June 5, 2025 in Japan, publisher Bushiroad Games and developer Toydium announced. It will support Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options.

The Switch version will be priced at 7,480 yen for the standard physical or digital edition, and 12,980 yen for the first-print limited edition. hello everyone today i bring to you snippets of abandoned fics that never made it to ao3 in the hope that someone might like one of them

胸がはち切れそうで - yuki/liam

Liam is so absorbed in trying to find anything resembling a restaurant that he walks face-first into a wooden hanging sign with ‘Maple Leaf Eatery’ printed on it. He’s dazed enough from his encounter with the sign that when he reads it and knows immediately what it means, he thinks that he’s magically gained the ability to read Japanese. Then he blinks a couple of times and the English words focus into place, which makes much more sense than hitting your head and randomly gaining the power to understand a new language. The word ‘eatery’ sounds like a good one to Liam’s rumbling stomach, so he pushes the door open and steps into a space that looks like someone threw Italy and Japan together and blended them into a soup. Some of the décor leans towards traditional Japanese; maple leaf kakejiku adorn the walls, sections are divided by shoji screens, and the floor is tatami, but bolder Italian colours stand out amongst neutral Japanese ones, adding highlights to important pieces, and there’s a Roman-style statue in the centre that goes nicely with the roof—also obviously Italian-inspired with its embellished patterns. The gold-framed menu displayed at the front of the restaurant is written in both Japanese and English, with Italian headings for the sections, and, perhaps best of all, Liam can smell pizza. Feeling leagues more confidence than he did not a minute ago, he tries his best to ask for a table for one in Japanese, adjusting his tie to show that he meant business, which didn’t particularly help as both the waiters on duty blinked at him, said「英語?」and then left, leaving Liam rather confused. 「僕が何とかするから、心配しないで。」 The return of the waiters is announced with a conversation in rapid Japanese; accompanying them is a sharply-dressed young man with fluffy hair and a determined expression written across his face. He squeaks to a halt in front of Liam; he can’t help but notice that this young man is almost a whole head shorter than him.

Nyck knew he was going to feel out of place the moment the idea was pitched to him. It had been Logan who had told him about it, nervously calling him up in the days after the Lone Star Le Mans, which fell on the same weekend as the Italian Grand Prix. Logan had said, hesitantly, as if he didn’t want to bother Nyck, that they were planning a sleepover of sorts for the 2023 and 2025 rookies. To welcome the newbies into F1, he said. Nyck wanted to laugh. Out of the four of them—the three ‘full-time’ rookies and Liam—only Oscar was guaranteed to have a seat next year, so they’d be welcoming people they don’t even get to race with. But Logan had pleaded, saying it would be better with him there, that he deserves something good after the shit Williams put him through, and Nyck had given in. Now, pulling up outside some random hotel their teams had paid for—in exchange for enough footage to narrate whatever story they like, of course—he almost wishes he hadn’t. He hopes that the smile he’s giving his phone camera as he walks into the hotel doesn’t convey as much nervousness as he feels. He barely knows the three rookies, and he can’t imagine having much in common with them, having an average age of nineteen next to Nyck’s twenty-nine. Even Logan, Oscar, and Liam are so much younger than him. He has a brief flash of wishing he was born in 2004—that would make their ages all in a row, nice and even; 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006. Maybe then he’d be next-generation instead of a washed-up has-been desperately trying to stay afloat in the WEC and Formula E.

“Have you heard? Piquet says Senna’s gay.” These rumours had shocked Ayrton the first time he had heard them, but now, about the fifteenth time he’s heard them this month, he is beginning to tire of them. That’s funny, that sure isn’t what your wife said, he had told Nelson when the rumours had started, ended the quip with a Portuguese insult to drive the point home, but he had already seized the chance to try to ruin Ayrton’s image, so this dig, low as it was, did little to dissuade him. Of course, it didn’t help that Alain Prost was also in on it. Ayrton’s rival has vehemently denied any involvement, but Ayrton reckons that Alain wouldn’t notice the concept of integrity if it danced in front of him wearing the stupid hat Ron Dennis had shown up to last week’s team meeting in. He jolts himself back to the present, back to his sister’s house in Brazil, where Viviane is reading the newspaper and his four-year-old nephew Bruno is driving a large plastic truck across the carpet, making loud ‘vroom’ noises. Bruno looks up at Ayrton as if he wants to invite his uncle to come and play, but Ayrton’s attention is fixated on the front page of Viviane’s newspaper. Mais Casos de AIDS no Brasil, Nova Contagem de Mortes Relatada This is why Ayrton’s still bothered by Piquet calling him gay. In this world, calling someone gay is the equivalent to telling them I want to see you die alone, of AIDS, with no-one to be by your side in your final moments because you have brought disgrace to everyone you love and they have all left you to rot away.

heat lightning, running outside the window - logan/liam

Logan Sargeant is not in his right mind. Somewhere within his brain he knew that Liam Lawson would replace Daniel Ricciardo after his crash. He was the AlphaTauri reserve driver, after all. But somehow, he’s been caught off-guard by it, like he didn’t expect to see his former teammate so soon. Perhaps Liam thought it unfair that Logan had been the one to get an F1 seat despite finishing only fourth to Liam’s third in the 2022 F2 championship—albeit by only one point—and had returned to get his comeuppance. Ridiculous thought. Liam was here because Danny Ric broke his hand after crashing into Oscar Piastri—another one of Logan’s former teammates, perhaps they were truly all connected—and he, as the reserve driver, had been asked to step up. That makes perfect sense. Still, Logan can’t help but think that somehow, Liam has joined the grid solely to spite him. He wishes that he had a better car, so he could fight him on the track side by side, rather than fighting with his own stupid Williams at the back of the grid, trying desperately to get the car to behave. P10 in qualifying had felt like a fluke, he felt like he was fighting the car the whole way through, when truthfully he wants to be fighting for pole along with all the front runners, wanted to be fighting like his teammate was fighting, fourth on the grid after setting the fastest time in Q1, he wants to believe he has what it takes. Most of all, though he can’t quite work out why, he wants to hear Liam’s ‘well done, mate’, feel the slap on his back just like he’d do in their F2 days. He foolishly hoped he could hear it after his P10, but Liam was clearly disappointed by his own performance, and it would be selfish of Logan to expect him to congratulate someone after he had clearly not lived up to his own expectations.

Theme Announcement for March 2025 Vocaloid Song Tournament

It is time again for another Vocaloid song tournament, and this one will begin on March 9th, which is Miku Day! Of course, I'm not planning to do another Miku-themed tournament until August. Honestly, I'm making it a blog tradition to do a Miku-themed tournament every August. But that's besides the point. This month, I'm going to focus on Vocaloid/Vocalsynth songs in English!

The English Vocaloid community has grown very large yet is still undermined by the size of the fandom surrounding Vocaloid music in Japanese. That's why I'm going to host a tournament that highlights the best of English Vocaloid! There are going to be 10 unique producers competing such as Circus-P, KIRA, and GHOST as well as 10 wild card songs! Of course, this also means that there is a chance your favorite song may not make the tournament, so please do not be too upset if that happens.

I also want to add that there will be songs that have some lyrics partially in a language other than English. However, I determined that as long as the mass majority of the song is in English, it will be considered eligible for this tournament. Hopefully that won't detract anything for you guys!

As I said, the tournament will start on March 9th at 10 PM CST. Until then, there will still be off-season polls at 6 PM CST daily to keep you guys entertained. Let's keep on point for a moment and screw the civility for a bit. My sense of civility died with Heather Heyer.

As tragic a thing it is when violence breaks out, TOO OFTEN it is the ONLY language that seems to get through to the rich and powerful since the voices of those whom they lord over always, reliably, fall upon deaf ears; ears crammed with corporate cash and bribes from oligarchs.

"Can we all just get along?" did nothing leading up to the American Revolution

"Hey, how about we don't allow slavery, huh?" didn't free a single slave in the USA.

"Yeah, Pearl Harbor... how about that? And those natsi death camps! We should all be waving fingers at those nations, especially when you look at how bad Stalin's Soviet Russia outdid Hitler but Stalin got away with it because he mostly kept Russian atrocities in-house. Ammiright?" Thanks, Mr. Chamberlain, but no thanks. Churchill's predecessor kept trying to play nice with natsis. How'd that work out?

Since the dawn of humanity, there is a line of trust between those who give consent to be governed, and those who do the governing. History is filled with countless examples of rich @$$holes who just don't know when to quit and they push and push and push until the breaking point hits and these dip$hits are suddenly surprised to find themselves being put up against a wall to be shot, led up a scaffold to be hanged or beheaded. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

We can warn them, time and again, that if the masses aren't being responsibly governed by people who see to the needs of ALL (or for feck sake, at least MOST) of the people in the country, it is inevitable that the masses no longer consent to the governance being applied.

Thomas Jefferson said it well in the Declaration of Independence: "When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation."

In other words, government in question anywhere, any time- "You're Fired!" When government agents sell their souls to oligarchs and push lies and create an environment where "We the People" cannot hold free and fair elections and hold the results of said elections to come to bear in favour of the MAJORITY, then we, as a society, as a whole, have failed ourselves and our posterity.

Every industrial nation on the planet has socialized medicine but one. ONE! You guessed it- the U.S.F'n-A. Every day the American people, no matter what side of what aisle you're pitching for, are highly strung out knowing, consciously or subconsciously, that their family's fortune can be erased with a major medical debt. This alone should be as uniting factor among ALL Americans, but the people of this country have grown increasingly stupid, less informed, more ignorant and certainly more apathetic.

Americans have a SERIOUS problem with TRUTH. This is what brought us to this sheep-like state of being.

Does anyone seriously believe the USA was minding its own business when the Japanese destroyed Pearl Harbor in WWII? History classes never teach 'Murican kids about how we helped the Chinese repel the Imperial Japanese forces from invasion. We cover up all the planes we sent to China to bolster their air force and the stories of brave American pilots who served as flight and combat instructors during this time. Covert submarine missions conducted by the US Navy to destroy Japanese shipping rarely, if ever, gets a mention. You know who DID know about US involvement in hindering Japanese advancements in the Pacific then? The Japanese. We weren't sucker punched. We weren't broadsided by the Japanese. We just didn't have the guts or gumption to answer the calls of our allies in China and the Pacific OR of our allies in Europe to stand up and fight when the call came. It wasn't until the Axis powers openly punched us in the face that we finally had enough support to DO something other than continuing talks and sending out pleas for the Axis powers to knock off all the killing and conquering.

This begs the question- when do we acknowledge that sometimes to stop the slaughter, one must stand and fight/commit violence? Is it only wrong when it's against our own rich @$$holes running the show at home? How many people DIED because trumplefuckstick screwed us ALL during the pandemic? How many DIED because insurance companies refused to keep up their end of the faith/trust and cover the life-saving things needed for people to survive an accident or curable disease? How many CEO's out there listen to those who, in the case of insulin alone, literally BEGGED to have the prices brought down to some reasonable level of affordability?

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness." Paragraph II of the Declaration of Independence; just a reminder that the oh-so-sacred Founding Fathers were very well aware that government gets power from those consenting to be governed. When government betrays the sacred trust of the people that put these @$$holes in power in the first place, it is on US to remove them and while through the rendering of laws that should allow us to do so peacefully, Jan 6 has proven that even those pillars of democracy mean f-all today.

So who is going to help us out? God? Jesus? The Great Pumpkin? The Spaghetti Monster? I highly doubt it. God hasn't show up for a war since, oh, ever. I mean, never. Religion has gone from an early stage of mystery where the wise find themselves on a quest for knowledge and to seek the Divine in any and all things while the not-so-enlightened use it like they do today- a tool to make even the dumbest, stupidest, most ignorant tw@ts appear smarter than they are because they were clever enough to tell an even greater body of people following them "It's God's Will and He works in mysterious ways- DON'T QUESTION." Nothing has drowned out God(s) like human arrogance and hubris like 'organized' religion has. It has trained the less fortunate to believe what they're told and to not question anything. Those who see behind the curtain see it for what it is: The Oldest Grift that's still going after thousands, maybe millions of years.

If you think I'm having a poke at God(s) (There are more than the One God- the First Commandment makes it abundantly clear) you're wrong. I'm not. I have no truck with God, and if we, as a species, are truly the recipients of the gift of Free Will, then that's simple enough to understand and it would of course explain why never openly see or hear from God. Then again, who REALLY does?

For example, look at Joseph Smith. This convicted grifter from my state of Vermont, managed to somehow procure unto himself some mysterious golden tablets that only HE could even see, let alone read. He managed to con a bunch of desperate, disenfranchised burnouts to follow him across this continent, to settle in bum-feck nowhere in Utah near a poisonous lake. He convinced these poor, less-than-bright acolytes that he was their new messiah and that they should all give him their possessions as well as their women (meaning their wives and daughters of all ages for him to F'k as he pleases). Yeah. That's Mormonism. That's religion in general, from ancient times to Charlie Manson and David Koresh and Jim Jones. It's not about gods or sacred tomes and riles, it's about selfish shitbags finding a flock of dimwits to follow them and that in places in the world where education thrives, it is harder and harder to find such dimwits to lead in a collective flock.

It happens all the time in the US; a nation continually crashing the education system to the point where it's beyond the point of being a matter of national security because the troops are literally too stupid to work the equipment. People aren't so stupid, I think, that they don't know why the GOP wants to end TikTok. It's an untethered platform where we can see, unedited, what's going on elsewhere. We can see the war crimes committed by the IDF in Palestine. We can see the atrocities committed by Russia in Ukraine.

The point is, sooner or later THE TRUTH GETS OUT. As the protagonist in "V for Vendetta" said- "People shouldn't be afraid of their government; government should be afraid of its people." He's right. In a time where civics is no longer taught in public schools, that's just the GOP and corporatists in government suppressing the truth of how things work, to keep them in fear of all sorts of things that really DO NOT MATTER in the realms of reality!

Racism- an artificial construct that means literally nothing. You may as well hate people because of the color of their car or house or shoes. Nonetheless, it is a perfect tool to keep people divided. It is the tool of white men to keep black people in a state of fear, but is the KKK publicly branded a TERRORIST organization? What about Natsi groups? Churches that promote division and hate? I don't see them getting hit with terrorism charges, but one young man kills some rich prick? HE gets a terrorism charge? How do we define "terrorism" in the US these days? Is it only when rich people are made to be afraid? Hmmm.... Must be. This is why it's just hunkey-dorey for cops to shoot black people in the back for no reason. Kill some rich CEO who is LITERALLY responsible for a death rate akin to 9-11 EVERY MONTH for years?

Gender Issues- Literally meaningless in the grand scheme. Why are so many GOP/MAGA f'n OBSESSED with this? It is something that a very, VERY small percentage of the population is affected by, and still, it's nobody else's business. Just the same, this little prop in the culture wars if waved around, set on fire, and used as yet another prop to divide us all when it takes far less effort to just not be a dick, not let it be a thing, and to either ignore it (best choice of the apathetic) or to take a sincere crack at trying to actually understand it, the sciences behind it, and to get a little smarter (best for those with empathy and a sense of curiosity for learning what was once considered a fictitious thing that people with "issues" had. Biologists have been mapping the genetic spectrum for a while now, laying out their findings to show why some men are androgynous and feminine and others are 'alpha male' douche-canoes, mouth-breathers and knuckle-draggers. You know; MAGA types.

The list is far longer and more specific, but you get the point. There's no TRUTH to 'race' or 'gender' that matters worth a damn for those who are accepting of everyone around them and tend to judge others by their character, not skin tone or by what's going on in their crotch.

Now that I've written a small novelette here, I'm going to conclude by reminding you that violence is often the last viable hand dealt to those who can't afford an anty and are never given a seat at the game. "Freedom's just another word for 'nothin left to lose." When you live in a time and a place where fear is a daily part of your mental diet because some religious nut is going to terrorize you because of your gender/sexuality, it's not right and when there's nobody to help, this leads to violence (self inflicted or lashing out). Everyone has a breaking point.

If you live somewhere where white people cause you to pucker-up because you're about to get pulled over by a white cop and this could literally be your final moment of life, it's only a matter of time before it invokes violence.

Tragic, though it may be, this is where selfish, evil, vile people in power push things, over and over again. They truly bring it onto themselves. They literally turn kind-hearted, loving people against them because they no longer want their boot on their necks. "We the People" out here will, when pushed far enough, bring the torches and pitchforks. There are more of those people than rich people have bullets.

Luigi got a terrorism charge, not because he killed a man. He got it because of who he killed and that the result wasn't as negative as those in power demanded and the bullshit terrorist charge is simply the rich man's way of saying "We can't be having you kill one of us rich elites and we'll have to make an example of you."

Sadly, nothing heroic is likely to transpire from Luigi's actions. Americans forget shit very fast, all the time. They're conditioned to it. I find myself fighting against that sort of forgetfulness all the time. It's why I read books on history, and if history is anything to go by, one of two things is going to happen this year in the USA.

You know all of those 2nd Amendment fanatics who sit out in the woods having firearm fantasies about saving the world from tyrannical government while have group circle-jerks at their special camp? Well, decades of looser and looser gun control have been put at their feet so they could DO that, even sacrificing our children in schools and other loved ones out there in movie theaters and other public venues, just so they can have they're ammosexual fantasies. So... Where are they now? An ACTUAL TYRANT, guilty of grape, theft, grifting, stealing secret gov. documents and officially convicted of 34 felony charges is about to have round two in making 'Murica a hateful, divided shithole. Are the Gun Nuts coming to save us? Don't be stupid. Of course they're not. If ANYTHING, they'd be trying to pucker up enough to be able to kiss dipshit-donny's ass nice and deep. We're talking some serious colon cleaners here. We DO know that they're going to feel more embolden than they did on Jan 6 and that a LOT or people are likely to die. That's not the use of violence to solve a problem; that's them using violence in order to keep the problems going and they goddamn know it.

In the end, while I seriously don't condone violence, I cannot condemn outright since that's sometimes the only way to solve the problems dropped on us by a government that has betrayed you on one side of the aisle while the other side continues to take corporate cash to do nothing about it. While my heart is adamantly against violence, history has shown us all, repeatedly, that sometimes, as a measure of last resort, when the rich and powerful have left "We the People" with nothing to work with or to survive off of, gets the job done.

There are far more of us 'common folk' than there are rich people, and they forget, constantly, that they need "WE" more than we need "THEM". NOBODY with a conscience felt remotely sad when Luigi put 3 well-labelled slugs into a total tyrant. Boo-fucking-hoo; he had kids and blah, blah, blah... So did a lot of the people he consciously and willingly MURDRERED with his business practices just so he could have... money.

So in other news I started another Kamen Rider season and it hits hard for an Autistic living in the States in 2025.

So back in like 2021 I watched the first two episodes of Amazon Rider since they were now on YouTube. It didn’t click back then. But times have changed, again, and I had heard folks on tumblr discuss the series in a light I hadn’t considered. So I started watching it, and six episodes in, it’s peak.

On the surface, Kamen Rider Amazon is basically “if Tarzan could turn into a lizard superhero.” Amazon’s parents died in a plane crash and he was raised among the beasts of the jungle. An iconic looking villain destroyed a nearby village of indigenous folks, and the survivor used his last acts to bond Amazon to an armlet. This lets him turn into Amazon Rider. He then swam to Japan (okay he got on a boat at some point, but he was swimming the last time we saw him before it cut to the docks, and proceeds to fight the villain’s forces, who are after his armlet.

That’s the synopsis. But by barely peeling the surface, the show seems to be about in-group out-group. Amazon cannot speak Japanese, he can’t really speak any language. He doesn’t understand Japanese society, the city’s noise and night lights overstimulated him, motorcycles are too loud and scary, and people distrust him because he seems “suspicious.” The female lead doesn’t like her younger brother seeing him because “all this weird stuff started happening when Amazon arrived,” the classic Rider ally Tachibana is frustrated that he’s not like the earlier Kamen Riders, police arrest him after he helped catch a murderer because he’s weird. (ACAB) In one episodes he’s left shouting “I hate humans,” and decides to return to the jungle.

There’s a heartbreaking scene where Amazon finds a corpse killed by the villains, and three civilians see him near the body. They demand an explanation, but he cannot speak Japanese, so he cannot articulate. They respond by grabbing sticks and beating him, calling him a “fool.” In the aftermath the narrator agrees that even if he could speak, they wouldn’t have listen, and frustration at being an outcast causes Amazon to have what I would describe as a meltdown, smashing a cabin he was hiding in. He begins chanting “fool,” and I’m not even sure if he understood what the word means. He just knows it “justified” their violence towards him.

Amazon comes across as outsider, someone who is good but is distrusted for not belonging. He’s an immigrant, but he also feels more kinship with the beasts, and finds human society overwhelming and confusing. He doesn’t belong in the human world, and he only stays because a boy who hasn’t had time to develop biases is his friend. Amazon resonates with me as an Autistic, he’s clearly a person, but people think he’s weird and thus dangerous. And their world in turn is a sensory nightmare for him.

Now, I haven’t seen every Showa Kamen Rider season, thus far I only finished the OG series and the nineties movies, and only seen the first six episodes of Amazon.* But Amazon Rider’s design doesn’t feel as much like a rider. He looks like a rubber suited lizard, with visible jaws with teeth. He’s got more of a monster design that a Toku hero’s but he s a hero, he just doesn’t fit the classic look. Which fits his outcast vibes. Likewise, in episode six he shows mercy to an actual monster who was being tortured by the villains for failing, and in turn the monster becomes his ally. A rubber suited creature who often would be the motw becomes his friend, helps recover secret information from the villains base for him, and I hear this guy will stick around for like fifteen episodes. This isn’t a throwaway guy, this is long term. In the OG series no monsters defected (because they were cyborgs brainwashed by a Nazi splinter group) and I cannot speak for other shows seasons, but in this season that really focuses on Amazon Rider’s alienation from humanity, of course there would be a monster who didn’t belong with the villains.

So yeah Amazon Rider is now one of my faves. I may have impulsively bought a dvd of him. Screw you Amazon the corporation, one volume is not worth $130+, I’m going to the Amazon as in a Brazilian seller on eBay .

Of course, I haven’t finish the series, so it could always end in a really bad way. I already know one major character will eventually die, but that’s not necessarily a mark against it. But gosh it’s wild having seen season one of Amazonz first. Amazon Rider might be violent, but it does not leave me remotely as emotionally vexed by its spiritual successor. Don’t get me wrong, I do love Armor Zone, but gosh season one exhausted me.

*I have completed more Rider than that though. Finished Kuuga and Fourze, and I am only one episode behind on Gavv, so I might finish that too. Likewise I finished the Shin Kamen Rider movie from two years back. Also saw like 37 episodes of Build, like 17 of Zero One, and 10 of Ryuki, but I didn’t finish those.
