So, I only noticed this back when Oxford announced their word of the year was "brainrot" lol, & I got curious enough to look up Merriam-Webster's top 10 words of the year, every year...

first of all, its a bit unsettling how stark the difference in entries becomes when you reach the year 2016. Where, for whatever reason, it's much more...minimal.

but secondly, I honestly hadn't realized "empathy" as a term had been that big a part of the public consciousness since at least 2009.

Of course empathy is discussed a lot, especially now. But I didn't know it was to this degree - it being a part of the top 10 terms of a certain year means it had a very significant place in the greater discussion.

And it appears twice: in 2009, and in 2017....

Logical Fallacies with Gravity Falls

Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc: before, therefore because of (Grunkle Stan: Ever since that monster Gideon rolled into town, I've had nothing but trouble.)

Stan assumes that because his trouble started after Gideon arrived, that the trouble must be due to Gideon. One event happened first, therefore it is the cause of the other. This is also a form of False Cause because the correlation does not equal causation.

Although, within the context of Gravity Falls, perhaps it is fair to give Stan's faulty reasoning a bit more grace seeing as Gideon is a villain who did impact Stan's bottom line.

Mental forms, physical artifacts

i am reminded today that the "person" (see: persona) attempting to destroy what is Everlasting (see: Palestine, my heart, the Land of Our People. see Palestine Our Heart My People See Our Heart)….yes the persona behind the attempted genocide of our human Palestinian family and Our Palestinian Home is referred to as"bibi"?

please consider this a reminder for those who remember. especially for my friends who like me, do not speak fluent Arabic currently. They removed a sacred sound of Ours to attempt endearment for the (so called) leader of their attempted genocide. Am I getting this written correctly? I have today awakened from a long-sleep, so I hold high value for any Good word.

I am able to reflect, I am able to remember the times when I called upon Jesus Christ and I was carried. I remember the times when I didn't even have to ask, and My People carried me. This is truly Amazing Grace. This is true love.

It is precisely and only because of love that I am here today, unless anyone may be able to state their claims otherwise? i welcome it. finally and most clearly….if someone tells us they do not love us. I believe them. many thanks. casimir

PSA to the entire population of this godforsaken site that's still in school to PLEASE pay attention in your language arts classes. You can sleep through every other class, cheat to pass, I don't even care, but god, PAY ATTENTION IN YOUR LANGUAGE ARTS CLASSES. They're there for a reason; they're what teaches you media literacy; language arts is actually so incredibly important because it's what lets you consume media instead of just look at it!! It's what teaches you to look at a work with any level of critical thinking!! If you've ever complained about wanting a 'media literacy' class IT ALREADY EXISTS AND IT'S CALLED LANGUAGE ARTS!!!

Study Tips

A person can study anywhere between 15 seconds and 18 hours. However, even though it's possible to study for such long periods of time, it doesn't mean you should.

Studying for such long intervals can be harmful to your body, brain, and eyesight. So, if you still want to study long and hard for more than two or three hours, this is my advice.

1.) Get a good night's sleep.

If you don't get enough sleep in the time before studying, you won't retain much information and it will be harder for you to focus and answer rationally.

2.) Have chewing gum and/or something that smells good.

Chewing gum while you study is a great idea. It improves focus and can even help with study anxiety. It eases your nerves and just all-around makes things easy. As for a good smell: pleasant scents are scientifically proven to be good for your memory. So, if you want to get a great grade, have some essential oils, a candle, or something else that smells good nearby!

3.) Eat.

If you're going to study for long periods of time, make sure to eat when you're hungry. Hunger significantly damages focus and precision in mental prowess. So, make sure you're fed!

3.) Stay hydrated!

Stay hydrated for the very same reasons. Being dehydrated is bad for every part of you, so keep some water nearby!

4.) Have on study music!

Have on a more low-key genre of music for study time if it helps you focus. This isn't for everybody, but it does help me, so maybe you guys will like it too. You have hundreds of study playlist options to choose from on Spotify if you're interested.

5.) Take breaks!

To maintain a healthy mindset, good focus, and all-around the best conditions for studying, take a 5 to 15 minute break every hour to an hour and a half to move around and stretch your muscles, essentially waking up your body and brain so you can keep studying with steady proficiency.

hindi (no longer study in school but i can speak, write, etc BUT i am not very good)

english (probably my best language though it's my third lol)

languages i want to learn (in order of learning):

french (it's been a few months of learning but i can't put in much time because i'm a full time student)

spanish

isl (indian sign language)

italian

asl (american sign language)

bsl (british sign language)

greek

hindi (i want to re-learn to expertise, it'll be easy since i already know the basics and much more)

odia (though i'm excellent at speaking i also want to learn to read & write since it is my family's language)

japanese (not sure if i actually will, if when the time comes i'll see)

ancient greek (it'll be easier since i would've already learnt greek by this time)

latin (yes i'm aware that this and the two before aren't spoken anymore but i still want to learn them very much)
