Tumblr media
The Kickstarter campaign to create enamel pins and stickers of these six absolutely precious mythical creature designs is now live! Love Pride? Love cute creatures? Longing to fly your Pride colors high with some cute-but-subtle Pride beasties? You have come to the right place! We’ve taken our excitement for Pride 2024 and turned it into six precious, adorable, gorgeous designs featuring playful mythical creatures in Pride flag colors that you’re not gonna want to miss!
Each design is available as a die-cut sticker and as an enamel pin. You can get whichever stickers and pins you want: mix-and-match; get duplicates; or even back at our highest, premium backer level and get to anoint one of these cuties with a name that we’ll use for them forever after this campaign!
All the artwork is by Pippin Peacock ( @migglangelus ), who brought 110% of their inspiration, creativity, and dedication to this project, and logistics are being handled by Nina Waters at Duck Prints Press.
The designs are:
Pegasus, in transgender pride flag colors.
Loch Ness, in mlm/gay pride flag colors.
Phoenix, in wlw/lesbian pride flag colors.
Dragon, in non-binary pride flag colors.
Chimera, in bisexual pride flag colors.
Cerberus, in asexual pride flag colors (these are also the colors of the demisexual pride flag).
This campaign is running through April 2nd 2024, and we are aiming for fulfillment before or during Pride month in June.
Even better – if we can hit our stretch goals, we can offer more creatures in more flag colors!
So help us reach our goals – check out the campaign and become a backer now!

Loch Ness Monster Rides a Bike
The Loch Ness Monster, affectionately known as Nessie, is a creature in Scottish folklore that is said to inhabit Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. It is often described as large, long-necked, and with one or more humps protruding from the water.
Would Nessie be there if they could have only ridden a bike?

The Jingshi in Autumn by nikkidraws
Turns out, I didn’t mess it up after all 😅 although I’ve been reliabily informed by my bestie that that bridge looks likes it’s rising from the pond similar to the Loch Ness Monster. I may put this up on my shop over at INPRNT depending on interest - so let me know! I plan on doing a lot more of these kind of marker projects in future.
Speaking of my shop, there’s also currently (July 2023) a storewide sale of up to 40% off your order, and $5 wordwide shipping 👀 If you like my CQL set design saga, why not check out my set blueprints? Or you can head over to my kofi if prints aren’t your thing. I’m still a fairly new artist so I appreciate your support 🙏

Researchers and monster hunters are gathering in the United Kingdom's Scottish Highlands this weekend to look for the eternally elusive Loch Ness Monster, the biggest search for the legendary beast in more than 50 years.
Somewhere beneath the shimmering surface of Loch Ness lies Nessie, the legendary sea beast whose reputation spans nearly 1,500 years — at least, that's what monster hunters and Nessie enthusiasts from around the world hope to prove Saturday and Sunday.
The Loch Ness Centre and the research group Loch Ness Exploration are asking all aspiring monster hunters to join in on the biggest search since 1972.
"Our purpose is to observe, record and study the natural behaviour of the Loch and phenomena that may be more challenging to explain," the Loch Ness Exploration Facebook page reads.
"If you believe that the Loch Ness Monster exists then we invite you to join the search, we equally invite you to support the study of the Loch and the natural behaviour of the elements that may be the root cause of these strange reports from Loch Ness."
Investigators are breaking out all sorts of technology, including surveying equipment the Loch Ness Centre says has never been used on the freshwater lake before.
Drones with infrared cameras will fly over the lake and a hydrophone will be used under the surface to detect "Nessie-like calls," the Centre says.
Volunteers will also participate in a large surface watch of the loch, scanning the surface for any irregularities.
However, due to an "overwhelming demand" from enthusiasts, the group is no longer accepting applicants hoping to participate in person.
But the Loch Ness Centre says those still eager to participate can do so virtually through a livestream.
At 22 square miles and with a maximum depth of 788 feet, Loch Ness is Great Britain's largest lake by volume and second-largest by surface area, according to Encyclopedia Britannica.
Though the first written accounts of a monster are attributed to the Irish monk Saint Columba's encounter in 565 A.D., reports of a creature in the lake are depicted in ancient stone carvings found in the area.
But the legend of a monster lurking in the loch didn't garner greater attention until April of 1933, when a couple driving along the newly built road around the lake saw an animal they compared to a "dragon or prehistoric monster," according to the Scottish Maritime Museum.
More sightings soon followed, and big game hunter Marmaduke Wetherell was commissioned to track the monster down in December of 1933.
He said he found large tracks along the shoreline, but zoologists at the Natural History Museum debunked the tracks.
The following year was when English physician Robert Wilson took a photo, now known as the "Surgeon's Photograph," which appeared to show Nessie's head atop a long slender neck poking out of the water.
The picture was printed in the Daily Mail and the Loch Ness Monster was thrust into international stardom.
One of the participants in that search confessed on his deathbed that the picture was staged, according to the Daily Mail.
The Loch Ness Centre says there have been more than 1,140 official Nessie sightings.
Paul Nixon, the Centre's general manager, said he's excited to see what turns up after the waters are searched like never before over weekend.
"We are guardians of this unique story," Nixon said.
"And as well as investing in creating an unforgettable experience for visitors, we are committed to helping continue the search and unveil the mysteries that lie underneath the waters of the famous Loch."

OHMY GOD. NEW NESS LORE JUST DROPPED.
Okay, so we all know that Ness loves theories, small town conspiracies, old legends, right? And the Lock Ness monster is a CLASSIC, right? DO YOU HEAR WHAT IM GETTING AT?? CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW EXCITED NESS WOULD HAVE GOTTEN WHEN DISCOVERING THEORIES ABOUT THE LOCH NESS MONSTER AS A KID?? AND THAT HIS NAME NESS?? JUST LIKE THE MONSTER???
OHMY GKD.
Guys I can't, I know for a fact that he believes in the lock Ness monster and that its his favourite cryptid/legend, 100%, its just true, he told me, actually. Ness would dedicate his entire life to the Freddy's case and in discovering what happened (it's such a huge case the town he lives in, of course he's going to go physco about it) but I just know he's got a whole nother theory board about the Loch Ness monster and all the hoaxes about it, why this is true and that isn't. Maybe he goes on a trip to Scottland one winter to try and seek out Nessie himself (it set him back so far in going to collage, like seriously, Mike would have scolded him so hard if they knew each other then)
He's got multiple little charms off Nessie on his bag and kept safe in his room, posters and printed out news papers with headlines of it. At one point he almost convinced himself it was smart to buy an original copy of one of the newspapers shipped from Scottland that would have set him back on rent, he just barely didn't do it, too. But it was for the best, he brought back a boatload of newspapers, photos and memorabilia from his trip. Enough to where he had to wear his big snow jacket on to the plane so he could fit it all in his bag.
The reason why he knows so much about the evolution of early mammals (other than it being incredibly interesting, the fact we evolved from that is extremely fascinating to him) is because of the Lock Ness monster. He has diagrams of what it's skeltal structure is, or at least what he believes could be, he can't say that it is without solid evidence other than a hunch and years of research. He links its genealogy back to this and that, starts a whole new research paper on how the Scottish seas (where Nessie comes from) could open up a whole new gene pool of what Ness could be or could have evolved from and what could have evolved from Nessie. What if Nessie is the last of its kind and the rest of its genus evolved Into something further? Something smaller, bigger? Was it abandoned by its kind and left here while they went onto bigger bodies of water? It boggles his mind. Getting to the bottom of this his life mission (besides the Freddy's case and woo'ing the cute security gaurd into giving him his number)
I, have... so much planned. This has spurred on my Ness and overall securitywaiter brainrot by SO much, and I will infact be going ahead and adding this to my Nestortheory lore😔
(Nestortheory is Ness' instagram, he's got silly (literally canon, I swear) stuff on there:))

“… Boyd's investigation led to man named Christian Sperling, who claimed that he and the surgeon, Dr. Wilson, had been part of a plot to dupe a London newspaper. The object in the photograph was a one-foot plastic neck that Sperling had grafted to a toy submarine. This confession dealt a powerful blow to the Loch Ness Monster…”
The phone rang and Scully picked it up turning the TV down.
“Hello?”
“Hey Scully, its me.” She could hear relief in his voice.
“I was calling to make sure you got home okay.”
She smiled and he could hear it in her voice.
“You can say it Mulder, you called to make sure I hadn’t fled the state.”
He laughed then said “Okay maybe a little.”
She smiled. “You’d find me though, I think.” It was said as a statement but it was a question.
“I… yes, I would.” He admitted simply.
She smiled and bit her lip. “Are you watching that NOVA about the Loch Ness monster?”
“I am, its interesting so far don’t you think?”
“It is, I have a feeling all the evidence will be highly debatable, amounting to mere conjecture.”
“Come on Scully you can’t judge before its over."
She laughed down the line.
“Alright, well I have to pay attention here, if you’re going to debunk it all on me” He said.
“Night, Mulder.”
“Night, Scully.”
“And Mulder?”
“Yes?”
“Thank you for today.”
“Always.”
She put the phone down and turned the volume back up.
“…next morning, the team get their first look at the prints. To Rines and Wyckoff, the one-foot model doesn't match the original photo. The four-foot model is more convincing…”
