Harry Potter confession:
There are two wolves inside me. The wolf that loves the drarry ship
Tumblr media
and the wolf that loves the Harmony ship
Tumblr media
One thing I can agree on with both ships. I hate Ron Weasley and Ginny Weasleys characters. Harry and Hermione both deserve better, and Draco deserves a proper redemption arc. Also Neville should have been Harry's best friend not Ron.
(Don't like don't read. Post hate and I'll block you)

Ways J.K Rowling did poc dirty in canon:
Making the last name of one of her most powerful black characters “Shacklebolt” - a crude af reference to slavery and just in very poor taste.
Naming her only east Asian character “Cho Chang” - a Korean surname as a first name for a Chinese character - proving she did no research whatsoever into Chinese naming traditions.
Cho’s characterization also leans in to the trope of tragic Asian female characters being defined by their romantic connections to white men, as in “Miss Saigon” or “A Quiet American.” Cho’s storyline centers on her romantic involvement with Cedric, Harry and Roger Davies. She gets no meaningful arc of her own.
The sidekick-ification of Lee Jordan.
Michael Corner being referred to as “the dark one” which is bad enough, and then him being whitewashed in the films.
Pansy Parkinson’s comment about Angelina Johnson’s braided hair looking like “worms” goes completely unpunished. Rowling treats this as standard bullying instead of a racially-charged comment. Rowling clearly didn’t understand the serious implications of this comment and its rooting in deeply-ingrained discrimination against black hairstyles, or she would have written a similar reaction to this as she did to that of Hermione being called a “Mudblood.”
House Elves as a metaphor for slaves is highly problematic because they are depicted as “liking” their enslavement and being complicit in it, much like the black slaves in “Gone With The Wind.” Despite Dobby being a beloved character, he is also seen as an anomaly for desiring freedom, and many other House Elves are depicted as grotesque, fawning, ridiculous or sinister. Pretty garbage metaphor for black slaves.
In Goblet of Fire Rowling describes a group of “African” wizards wearing “long white robes” and “roasting what looked like a rabbit on a bright purple fire.” This is just… *sigh* The way this is worded is very clearly just token exoticism and includes no genuine detail about their clothing, cultural food or nationality. It’s just “wow those zany rabbit-eating Africans and their purple fire.” Once again black characters are being used as examples of otherness rather than shown as human beings.
Rowling has openly admitted that she created a detailed backstory for Dean Thomas, one of the series’ few black characters, but did not include it in the books and included the backstory of Neville Longbottom, a white character, instead.
Approving the casting of a white actress in the role of Lavender Brown in the films, a character the majority of readers assumed was black.
The portrayal of Blaise Zabini’s “famously beautiful” black mother who was known for offing her husbands and taking their money. Like. Come on. Tbh she sounds like a queen but violent woc gold digger is still a shit trope.
Just the entire treatment of the Patil twins at the Yule Ball, the way Harry and Ron treated them and Rowling’s garbage attempt at describing their traditional clothing.
Padma Patil’s portrayal in Cursed Child as the stereotypical controlling Indian wife. The idea of ending up with her instead of Hermione being positioned as some kind of horrible alternate reality for Ron had very xenophobic undertones, and while Hermione is portrayed as black in the play, I don’t believe that Rowling originally intended her to be a black character nor that casting directors deliberately set out to cast a black actress as Hermione in Cursed Child initially.

Hello, I was wondering if you could have any friends to lovers drarry fic rec for me? I enjoy slow burn with a kind and soft Draco (where he isn’t a bully) or one where draco stood for the light side of the war (so preferably during the war). I just want want to see Draco have a strong friendship with the golden trio, really! (I don't mind if the romance is a subplot. I just want a focus on Draco)
(I quite literally watched Harry Potter with my sister thinking Draco was going to have a hell of a redemption arc and was sorely disappointed... So here I am seeking for comfort fics)
Anyways thanks in advance!
Hi anon! I feel you, Draco’s redemption arc was poorly done and so frustrating :( I hope you’ll enjoy these as they combine slow burn, friends to lovers and redeemed Draco. Some are told from Harry’s pov and while Draco’s not always soft I think his characterization will be right up your alley. You might also enjoy GallaPlacidia’s Draco, her fics were taken down but you can find them here. Finally, I have also added my personal favorites redemption arc as a separate category, highly recommend them. Enjoy!
Friends to lovers slow burn:
Vortex by @xanthippe74 (T, 20k)
The idea of perfectly-matched soulmates feels more like a curse than a blessing to Draco. Who would want a soulmate who was a schoolyard bully, a Death Eater, and a convicted felon? Certainly not Harry Potter. And Draco is determined to take this secret to the grave.
Nice Things by aideomai (M, 22k)
The first thing that happened was Theodore Nott came back from France.
With Great Yawns and Stretchings by sugar_screw (T, 22k)
The coffee is very good. Really. And the cats are so cute. That's why Harry goes so often.
Moldova's Magical Tea by @aibidil (E, 32k)
Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, and—to everyone’s surprise—Draco Malfoy are opening a magical tea shop to revive wizarding tea culture and, hopefully, to bring the community together after the war. Harry, who is unemployed and trying to find his way in post-war society, wants to help his friends with their new business—but that means spending a lot of time around Malfoy.
Open For Repairs by @drarrytrash (M, 35k)
After the war, Draco works at a tv repair shop and Harry breaks things.
Follow the Water by @xanthippe74 (T, 38k)
Harry Potter’s life is fine. Maybe a little dull and predictable, but he shouldn’t complain about that, right? When he unexpectedly finds himself at Luna’s house one afternoon, Harry gets invited to join the secret wonderland that she’s creating with a surprising group of friends. Maybe a summer outdoors is just what a former hero needs to bring some zest back into his life.
Modern Love by @tackytigerfic (E, 61k)
Harry Potter, of all people, knows that life isn’t always fair. And no one gets to be happy all of the time. But surely there’s something more—something better—than a rubbish Ministry job, and a lonely old house, and that feeling that everyone out there is doing a better job of living than Harry is.
Cauldron Full of Hot, Strong Love by @aibidil (E, 80k)
In which a group of wizards' rights activists goes on the offensive after a prohibition against love potions, forcing the magical world to confront the horror of magic's role in sexual assault and the murky legal nature of consent. Ron, Hermione, Harry, and Draco are swept together to solve the case, and in the process they're made to confront their own love and lust—with and without potions.
At Your Service by Faith Wood (E, 95k)
Hogwarts students are in danger; Harry is determined to save them all. There's only one thing he knows for certain: Draco Malfoy is somehow involved.
All Life is Yours to Miss by Saras_Girl (M, 114k)
Professor Malfoy's world is contained, controlled, and as solitary as he can make it, but when an act of petty revenge goes horribly awry, he and his trusty six-legged friend are thrown into Hogwarts life at the deep end and must learn to live, love and let go.
My favorites - Redemption arc:
And Save Me From Bloody Men by @blamebrampton (T, 10k)
Draco Malfoy once watched others fighting to stop the world falling apart. This time, he's not just watching.
Slithering by astolat (E, 27k)
Draco found the nest down in the Manor’s cellars, while he was clearing them out.
Heal Thyself by astolat (T, 47k)
"Are you going for the course?" Lovegood asked. "You have the NEWTs.” “What course?” Draco said, then, “No, don’t be ridiculous,” when he realized she meant the notice pinned up on the board he’d been staring at: Applicants To The Introductory Mediwizard Course For The Coming Term Shall Present Themselves In The Chief Mediwizard’s Office By August 24th.
A Young Radical's Guide to Love by @blamebrampton (T, 66k)
Memories of the war are still fresh, which is all the excuse Decent People need to do appalling things. In this quietly waged conflict, Draco Malfoy is happy to be on the right side of things for once, and even happier to find he’s not alone.
A Thousand Beautiful Things by geoviki (M, 104k)
Draco Malfoy struggles with changed fortunes, shifted alliances, an ugly war, and an unusual spell, with the help of a concerned professor, an insightful house-elf, and an unexpected Gryffindor friend.
Changing Tides by carpemermaid (E, 109k)
Draco has spent half of his life spouting the things his father has taught him without much thought about how he feels about what he says. When he unexpectedly comes face to face with the Dark Lord, he grapples with the harsh realities of the world and struggles with his changing views on life.
Far From The Tree by aideomai (E, 112k)
The arrival of Harry Potter’s children—snapped back in time, the children themselves guessed, twenty or so years—was the most interesting thing to happen at Hogwarts for years.
By the Grace by lettered (T, 140k)
Harry is an Auror instructor. Malfoy wants to be an Auror.
Eclipse by Mijan (T, 287k)
Draco swore his revenge on Harry for Lucius's imprisonment, and Harry all but laughed at him. But Draco is planning more than schoolyard pranks this time. The old rivalry turns deadly when Draco abducts Harry for Voldemort. It's the perfect plan, guaranteeing revenge, power, and prestige, all in one blow. But when Draco's world turns upside down, the fight to save himself and Harry begins, and the battle will take them both through hell and back. If they come back.
Twist of Fate by Oakstone730 (T, 302k)
Draco asks Harry to help him beat the Imperius curse during 4th year. The lessons turn into more than either expected. A story of redemption and forgiveness.

Hello again :). Do you feel like Draco was underutilized as a character? There are several aspects about him that are never explored in depth.
Potential beef with Neville. It must be horrifying to attend school at the same time as the nephew of the witch who tortured your parents! But besides that moment in book 5 where Draco made fun of the Longbottoms, I don't think there was any hint of antagonism. Even Draco was shocked at how angry Neville was so I don't think he fully understood himself.
Nothing with Sirius and Draco. I wish there was something about how Draco felt about his cousin. Draco was hardly explored as a member of the Black family. I mean Draco is related to Harry's godfather and there's just nothing interesting to chew on.
Hello! Yes - especially in the last book. Contrary to what JKR thinks he did get a redemption arc but I would've loved to see more scenes with him and see that developed more. We needed a final conversation between him and Harry and Harry returning his wand.
I also agree that his relationship with Neville should have been developed more. I think it's fascinating that in book 4 Draco doesn't seem to know much about what happened to Neville's parents or his own familial connection to that crime. That would be an amazing thing to explore especially as Draco later gets to meet Bellatrix and also begins changing his attitudes and becoming increasingly horrified by the reality of being a Death Eater and what his family's views really represent.
I think it's super interesting that in book 7 when Neville mentions people who are supportive of the Carrows' regime and enjoy using Unforgivables he singles out Crabbe and Goyle but leaves Draco's name off that list - something that is especially notable given that Neville certainly did not have a good relationship with Draco in school and thus has lots of reasons to dislike and distrust him due their personal relationship as well as the fact that Draco is related to one of the people who victimized Neville's parents. It hints at the possibility that Neville witnessed some of Draco's reluctance and change of heart first hand. It would've been something really interesting to explore.
And yeah Draco's connection to Sirius would've been interesting to explore too.

HP Rec Fest: Day 14
Today's prompt from @hprecfest: A favorite series
Fic series: The World of Wait and Hope which includes the following fics (and also, by the way, this the author's suggested reading order for anyone still wondering. Read them in this order. Kthanx):
Wait and Hope
Beginning and End
Sight and Seeing
Picked and Planted
The Couch Collection
Author: @mightbewriting
Pairing(s): Hermione Granger/Draco Malfoy, Theodore Nott/Blaise Zabini, Neville Longbottom/Pansy Parkinson
Rating(s): M and E
Why I rec this: This fic series has EVERYTHING. We begin with Wait and Hope, which is such a perfect memory loss dramione fic that I want to chew on a banister thinking about it. Then we have Beginning and End which gives us the context for W&H while also delivering a fantastic draco redemption arc, fucked up malfoy family dynamics (the best kind), and time turner shenanigans. These two fics also give us something beautiful: the ensemble cast and side pairings that feel so real and fleshed out. These are friends, these are people we've come to really care about and then MBW delivers even more of them with their own stories. Sight and Seeing (theo/blaise) has the best final line to a fic i have ever read in my entire fic reading life and that is not an oversell. I think about that last line all the time and want to weep in awe/jealousy. Picked and Planted is such a sweet palate cleanser after the angst and will heal your heart with a lovely Neville and beautifully acerbic Pansy. To be honest, I really regret recc'ing this universe right now because all I want to do is re-read every single fic and i do NOT have the time. So if you haven't read these, I really do not know what you are waiting for. Start. Today.

One Piece Harry Potter AU (Hogwarts Houses) SPOILERS!
Ok ok ok, so first, I'm new to the one piece fandom. I actually have known One Piece for over a decade, and even watched the first chapters (actually, I watched till just the end of Arlong park arc, and maybe I did spoil myself the entire Doffy/Cora/Law backstories because I randomly found out about them and felt in love with the three of them immediately), and I was familiar with some characters, but I wasn't really into it till the live action, and now I'm just obsessed, lol. So just mind this is just my personal headcanon, and I do not intent to force my view of these characters on anyone. Also, SPOILERS, SPOILERS, SPOILERS. Please, refrain from reading if you're not up to date with the manga.
Thing is, I also love Harry Potter, and I was wondering what house some of the characters would be assigned to and this is more or less what I've came up with. Also, since J.K.Rowling confirmed that hybrid houses would kinda be a bit more accurate, I will assign to some characters (most, actually) a mixed house alongside the house I imagine they would be assigned to according to the classical 4 house system. Let's see:
Luffy: Slytherin. "I'm gonna be king of the pirates". Okay boy, we hear you. Also, he won't share his food. Hybrid house: Slytherpuff. I mean, going around doing unintended but still good deeds, his ability to make friends and make people follow him, plus the reciprocal support and loyalty he gives his friends. However, I'm not entirely sure Luffy needs a hybrid house, I feel he's a solid Slytherin, tbh, we know they can also be charismatic and draw people in to follow them. So take the hybrid house with a pinch of salt, I feel Slytherin fits him just right.
Zoro: Hufflepuff. Tbh, it was actually a bit hard for me to choose Zoro's house, I'm not that well acquinted with Zoro, so maybe I'm missing out on this one, but, though he does seems a little Slytherin-like to me, or even Gryffindor (the whole swordman code of honour and all that), Hufflepuff wins this over. He is hardworking and loyal, and he tries to keep things logical (iykyk). Maybe not exactly just, or empathic, but still objective and practical. I feel it does fall into Hufflepuff sense of fairness. Also, Hufflepuffs make a good companion for Slytherins, so him beign Luffy's first mate plays into it. Hybrid house: Slytherpuf. Just like Luffy. "I'm gonna be the best swordman in the world". Say no more. He sure is very hardworking and loyal, but he is also ambitious, and at least as a kid, he was pretty... intense about it XD Heck, even as a teen/young adult he is. However, just like in Luffy's case, I think Zoro would make a solid Hufflepuff.
Nami: Ravenclaw. She's kinda the brains of the group, at least at the begining, and she is quite witty and cunning. I thought about Slytherin because of her being a thief and the cunning aspect of her personality, but it was a bit too obvious for my liking, and I think her personality goes a bit in a different direction when you dig deeper. Hybrid house: Ravendor. I don't know, she just has a Griffindor vibe to me, even if she's a little bit of a "coward" (more like, she's not stupid, tbh), but she did face up to Arlong, and her ambition to save her village all by herself all those years kinda strikes me as a Griffindor; not like a Ravenclaw couldn't do the same (or a Slytherin, she sure had to do a lot of shit when she was part of Arlong's pirates, she was all for gaining her island's freedom at all costs), but there's something in Nami's personality that I find Gryffindor fitting? Hope it's not the ginger bias, lol (although it could be the live action bias). Maybe it's just me, though.
Ussop: Gryffindor. He's kinda the Neville Longbottom of One Piece. I say kinda because both characters are pretty different, but there're undeniable similarities between the two of them. Also, it was stated that you could also be assigned to the house which values you valued the most, and Ussop dream is basically to become a brave pirate captain, so, from that pov, this house fits him like a glove.
Sanji: Gryffindor. That's it. He's a noble knight in shiny armour. He's Gryffindor poster boy. His backstory, how he faces up to his family, but honestly, his entire personality and demeanor and code just scream Gryffindor to me. He's so sweet (more so in the LA) that I was tempted into making him a hybrid with Hufflepuff, but who said Gryffindors can't be sweet? He's a Gryffindor through and through.
Ace: Gryffindor. He feels like a Gryffindor to me. He's a dork, he's brave, he thinks himself a hero, carries himself as such, he's hot-headed, and in the end, that's his downfall. Whatever, I just feel his face would come up first when searching for Griffndor boy in Google.
Coby: Hufflepuff. He's a hard worker and dreams of justice, he's loyal and strong-willed. Plus, he's adorable and a loving child, he's a Hufflepuff u.u Sure, I could make him a hybrid with Gryffindor, as he is brave (he stands against his friend, Luffy, that's part of his arc), but I think most of his personality traits linger strongly on the Hufflepuff side, so I see no need to give him a hybrid house.
Helmeppo: Slytherin. This was so hard, because at the begining he seems to fit the Slytherin stereotype quite a lot, but he does change a lot. And sure, Slytherins can be decent people too (again, to me, going by classic sorting, Luffy is a Slytherin through and through), but there's something else to his character. And that's why... Hybrid house: Slytherpuff. He becomes a very hard-working, just, and loyal individual. Maybe his true nature was hidden behind all that horrible nurturing he got, who knows. He still is at least partially a Slytherin, though (btw, I love him in the la, the actor really made the character stand up).
Garp: Gryffindor. He's mad as a hatter hahahahaha but I love him. He's brave, has a strong feeling of justice, a strict but fair moral code, and he comes up as a bit impulsive. But he has this hero complex going on too, as well as hero guilt (not sure that's a thing, but I hope you get what I mean). Him backing down from becoming an admiral because he believes in freedom and doesn't want to follow orders he already knows he won't like so he can be free to follow a more morally aceptable and chivalric path strikes me as very Gryffindor coded. That sense of justice also strikes me as Hufflepuff-like, but considering the rest of his personality traits, I think Gryffindor suits him best.
Mihawk: Ravenclaw. This was a super tough one. I was so tempted to just throw him into Hufflepuff. Sure, Hufflepuff house values are loyalty, fairness, justice (Doffy knows) and hardwok, but it was said this house would also accept any student that didn't quite fit the other houses, and Jesus, Mihawk was so hard, plus he lives a calm life growing vegetables (smells like a Hufflepuff if you ask me). Problem is, he really doesn't give much of a flying f*ck about anything so... Ravenclaw XD For whatever reason, I do see people from this house being the ones more capable of living an isolated monastery-like life, and that's exactly what Mihawk does, except his life is more of a cementery-like one, plus he has a ghost daughter XD It is also the house that gives me the most "I couldn't care less about politics, you, or your family" vibe out of them all XD Plus, he's a little b*tch with Shanks, not wanting to fight him only because he lost an arm (sure, he appeals to the honour code of a swordman and whatnot, but it still smells fishy to me u.u), and that kinda gives me a Ravenclaw vibe too. Hybrid house: Ravenpuff. Again, he lives calmly, actually acts with honour, kindness and fairness, taking Zoro in and training him, even when he knows Zoro's to become his rival and most probably take his title in a near future; and he values determination, hard work, and fairness in a fight, and again, he grows vegetables, knows how to cook, and enjoys a good wine. That's a Hufflepuff.
Shanks: Gryffindor. He IS a Gryffindor. Golden boy Shanks. I know some people enjoy the idea of him being a Slytherin, and though I do see the appeal of it and it would definitely fit some aspects of his personality (the cunning rat he is), this guy could be a poster boy Gryffindor. His hero complex is also quite obvious (though, truth be told, that burden was bestowed into him since he was a child). His ambition (obvious by his conqueror haki) could play into a Slytherin personality, but it also has a very strong Gryffindor vibe to it. And I said could, yes. Hybrid house: Gryffinpuff. Have you seen him as a kid in the Oro Jackson? How Buggy teased him about being too soft and naive? Sure, Gryffindors can be soft, but kid Shanks is just so Hufflepuff to me. As an adult, his laid-back, goofy, extrovert, affable and charming demeanour also reminds me of a Hufflepuff. Again, people from all four houses can show traits of other houses, there's no clear cut, so Shanks could just be a Gryffindor. But, honestly? I feel he could even be just a Hufflepuff, I would 100% support Hufflepuff Shanks hc too, my sweet alcoholic golden boy (I just don't want his fate to be that of Cedric T_T). Seriously, he IS a Griffindor, but he IS a Hufflepuff too. And that's why I definitely believe this hybrid house suits him the best, it reunites most traits of his personality perfectly.
Buggy: Ravenclaw. I mean, it matches his pretty long hair. Ok, no, but truly, he's a Ravenclaw. He is witty, he is smart, he's creative, he's a showman. His charisma and everything about him, including his goofiness and drastic humor changes, for whatever reason, strike me as Ravenclaw-like. I can think of a charismatic character who belonged to the Ravenclaw house that used his wit and quackery to fool everyone. Plus, as a child he seems to have been more observant and perceptive than Shanks, which makes him seem "wiser" in a weird way; plus he is also very crafty (buggy balls anyone?). He also likes to avoid fighting, be it because he thinks fighting unnnecesary or suicidal, which is quite "clever" of him. True, even in the direst circumstances he gets himself into trouble for not being able to shut his big mouth, but that's just his bombastic personality and caothic nature getting the best of him, he's just a passionate guy, the boy can't help it. Despite what some may think, despite he's egocentric and semi megalomaniac personality, he's also well aware of his weaknesses (I mean, his inferiority complex is quite obvious), and he isn't fond of attention if he hasn't planned for it beforehand. This is obvious by his reaction to all the attention he was attracting after escaping Impel Down, everybody claiming how great he must have been, for he was a former memeber of Roger's crew, a "brother" to Shanks and a close acquaintance of Rayleigh. Yet, he was so shy about it, and reluctant to take in all that attention, till he thought about it and planned a way to take advantage of the situation. A bit delusional, but still a quick-thinking clever guy. Hybrid house: Slytherclaw. Yep, he is also ambitious, and even with his whole inferiority complex and obvious weakness he aspires to be pirate king. He loves treasures and shiny things (actually, this sounds a lot like a magpie, which are close relatives of ravens, and yes I know Ravenclaw's pet is a bronce eagle, but there's still a raven in the name). And again, he is very witty, but also selfish, and he is not beyond abandoning everyone and everything to save his ass. Also, Buggy loves the sea, he would probably like Slytherin common room with its underwater views of the lake and mermaids. It would remind him of the ocean, he would be so happy there (I just want the lil silly clown to be happy u.u). Slytherin is a house associated with water, and we know Buggy was a very good swimer, and he surely loves the sea and the freedom it gives him (by now we all know the real reason why Buggy holds a grudge against Shanks is not exactly sea-related, but I'm pretty sure he still regrets what happened to some extent, though he probably, and rightfully so, blames his dumb self for that). Also, loving the sea, and loving treasure maps, also adds to my Ravenclaw headcanon, because I associate Ravenclaw with the sky, constelations, astronomy, star maps, etc., and to sail you defnitely need to know how to map the sky, and I feel that's something Buggy would be pretty good at, he seems to enjoy maps a lot (same logic applies to Nami, btw, she loves money, but she certainly values map knowledge above money). So yeah, hybrid house for Buggy, definitely. I think these two houses complement each other very well in Buggy's personality and character, similar to how I really like a hybrid house for Shanks (and they would complement each other so well, being from the exact opposite houses).
Roger: Gryffindor. The King, the Hero, the Legend. I don't know, it just fits him right. He's brave, he is hot-headed, he jumps into the fight without thinking. The way he's praised as a hero, with so many followers with that last stunt he pulled off right before kicking the bucket. That's very Gryffindor of him. Whatever went down in God Valley, why Roger decided to side with the Marine, why he didn't side with Xebec against the Celestial Dragons and World Gobernment, got me thinking. We still don't know what really happened there, I feel like the reason behind Roger's actions could change my mind about his house, but as it is for now, I think Gryffindor fits him good.
Rayleigh: Hufflepuff. He's the calm guy. Sure, he fights, and he's a menace, but what he finally wished for was to live peacefully in a calm island for the rest of his life. He's so chill and also fun, and enjoys a good party. Hufflepuff for the Dark King. Hybrid house: Ravenpuff. I don't know, he just has this "wise" bive to him. Maybe it is because of how he wants to have a nice, calm life as an adult. Also his calm and softer demeanour around Roger. I feel a wise and calm partner would be a good contrast to Roger's Gryffindor personality.
Crocodile: Slytherin. He's a snake. Not a crocodile, but still a reptile. Seriously, he's ambitious, he's maffia boss level, he gotta be Slytherin. Hybrid house: Slytherclaw. He's smart, cunning, and has experience. He manages bussiness with expertise, he just has that ravenclaw vibe to him. Plus, I just find the idea of Buggy and Crocodile being in the same house hilarious. At first sight no one would even phantom these two characters to have anything in common, nor his personalities to be somewhat compatible or similar in any way or form, yet this hybrid house fits them both like a glove.
Doflamingo: Slytherin. I mean... I hope the giant fish bowl that is the common room reminds him of the fashion back home.
Corazón: Hufflepuff. The boy is all heart. He believes in justice (heck, he's a marine), he's good-hearted, golden-hearted even, basically, a cinamon roll. He's also most probably a pretty hard worker, and he risked his integrity for a kid he didn't even know all that well. Also, he's a "trickster", so to speak. He must be a Hufflepuff, no doubt. Hybrid house: Gryffinpuff. He has a lot of the traits of a Gryffindor. You can't deny he's brave. He overcomes trauma as a child, and is willing to revive it and face his brother, spying for the marine, while dealing with Doffy's crazyness, and then he makes the selfless decision to save Law no matter what, at risk of his own life. He also feels he has some type of responsability regarding his borther's actions, when he truly doesn't, but taking responsability for things you're not really responsible for due to some sort of self inflicted guilt tripping type of torture sounds pretty Gryffindor to me, plus the "I must save the world from my evil brother, and because he's my blood brother, it must be me who faces and stops him" also strikes me as very Griffyndor-like. As I said many times before, I know some traits are shared between houses, and can apppear in members of different houses, but Corazón is definitely at least partially a Gryffindor. This would also explain his betrayal, Hufflepuffs are supposed to be loyal, I'm with Doffy in this one u.u (though I guess he never truly commited treason, as he was never on Doffy's side to begin with, lol).
Law: Ravenclaw. To be honest, a friend convince me of this one, I was so unsure and conflicted about him. But yes, I think Ravenclaw suits him well. His background as the child of doctors, and wanting to follow their parents' steps works out with a Ravenclaw personality. He's knowledge starved, and he's smart and witty, even a bit manipulative. Hybrid house: Slytherclaw. There's no way to avoid Law's ambition for knowledge. He is also quite determined in his path to avenge Corazón and bring down Doflamingo's downfall no matter what. I know determination is more of a Gryffindor and Hufflepuff trait, but it also goes well with Slytherin's desires to get their way, take what they want, and achieve whatever they've set themselves to (which is why Luffy is definitely a Slytherin too).
Aaaand this is all for now, it was already quite long, I may do a second list with the remaining mugiwaras and maybe some other characters I like :)

I feel like challenging GOD so in my first ever read of Harry Potter I will be listing all of my headcanons in one big master post and sending it into the void space of tumblr thank you goodbye. I have no concept over which of these are hottakes, which of these are widely accepted, and which of them are just me being batshit crazy because as I write this I have never once looked at the Harry Potter fandom proper and my only knowledge of it is My Immortal and the fact that TikTok thinks Harry's dad and Sirius' little brother should makeout. 1. Ron Weasley is autistic.
2. Neville Longbottom is half-Korean on his mother's side, and also probably wears goofy little frog overalls.
3. Ron is tall, Harry is Short
4. Harry's scar is smattered across his face like a lightning storm and not just one little bolt, that's pussy shit. Make that shit dramatic
5. Ron and Luna probably had a fling at one point. Autism for autism
6. No way this isn't fanon, but Luna Lovegood is autistic.
7. Ginny Weasley is the HOTTEST bitch in Hogwarts and she is AWARE.
8. In Goblet of Fire the entire little Ron and Harry arc happening there was that they had a summer fling and then broke up when Ron had his little pissboy arc and they were both babies about it and then went back to having their regularly scheduled bromance thank you goodnight
9. Harry is actually dating a new person each book, no matter how short-lived it is. Why? Comedy. It's FUNNY.
10. I think Harry and Ginny have a shotgun wedding at like, nineteen.
11. All I know is that in my brief dive into AO3 (re: I looked up this exact tag out of morbid curiosity of it was A Thing), Sirius/Snape were apparently one of the smallest ships with like only 2k fics which is wild to me, because that enemies to lovers??? Thought bitches would eat that shit up. I don't ship it, but it still was wild.
12. Sirius and Remus are in love. (post mortum: I have now dived just slightly in the fic of Harry Potter and realize this is widely accepted fanon.)
13. Hermione wears fun frilly dresses outside of school and actually really loves dressing up and being girly fuck this 'not like other girls' agenda going on with her. Put her in a pretty dress and let her frolic in a field with flowers.
14. Luna is a seer. She goes on to teach divination
15. I was gonna say something about in my little noggin Ginny raised her and Harry's kid as a single mom or whatever and it's a fic I'm gonna work on and also his name is Remus Weasley and he's a Slytherin but APPARENTLY that's just the entire plot of the Cursed Child as my HP special interest having bestie informed me. I just added in a Gryffindor pretty boy for my Slytherin Potter boy to make out with when JKR was too much of a coward to make him gay.
16. RON SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN HUFFLEPUFF.
17. Cedric Diggory lived a very long and happy life and had a lovely spouse - guy who got really attached to this dorky little dude, knowing full well how he died.
18. It takes Harry at LEAST two marriages to women to realize he's gay. The egg takes a very long time to crack.
19. Ron is straight. He's just. He's got such bi wife energy.
20. Ginny Weasley is a raging bisexual, and so are the twins, and so is Bill. And Charlie? I know in my soul that's a nonbinary.
21. Luna Lovegood? NOT a lesbian, sorry lesbians. I'm claiming her for the aromantics. That's right. She belongs to us.
22. Fleur Delacour was a lesbian. LESBIAN.
23. Harry and Dudley reconnect in their like, thirties/forties and actually become good friends I think.
24. Harry often does diy piercings in the bathrooms during fifth and sixth year, Luna helps.
25. Fred and Lee Jordan are boyfriends god bless.
26. Out of spite for JKR, here's a list of trans woman in Harry Potter according to ME: Ginny Weasley, McGonagall, Hermione, Luna, Lily Potter (her and James are t4t), Tonks (that bitch is nonbinary transfemme),
27. I will live, breathe, and die by my personal headcannon that Tonks and Remus are comphet and in a lavender marriage but they lovingly coparent their child together and regularly at parties Tonks goes "where's my husband? Oh, he's making out with his boyfriend okay cool." and moves on.
28. Draco Malfoy's patronus is that white ferret Moody Crouch turned him into in book four.
29. In my perfect world James Potter is alive and I love him most than anything, I'm holding him like a wet cat. i literally bought three stag plushes over the month I was reading this series just because I couldn't stop thinking about him.
30. I am ignoring the implications in the epilogue that Harry did not raise Teddy Lupin, because he did, actually. That was the last promise he made to his beloved Remus Lupin and if Deathly Hallows taught us anything it's that Harry Potter keeps a fucking promise <<3
31. Molly and Arthur heavily assisted Harry in his 'I'm gonna raise this god damn orphan to good y'all won't know what hit him. I'm gonna be such a good dad.'
32. I am literally IGNORING all these implications of the Cursed Child. Draco Malfoy is also a banger dad. i think he goes to counseling and sorts out his issues and tries very hard to not put such high expectations on his own kids. I think he tries very hard to undo the damage Lucius did to him, and the bad choices he made in trying to make his parents proud of him. I think he makes sure his kids know better than anything else, that all he wants for them is joy. He wants them to be good, happy people.
33. Just Lovers - Zerrazapriel says that Sirius' patronus is Moony and that's so fucking real and true of that fucking fic and I live by that now.
34. On a similar note, Molly and Arthur have matching patronus'
35. Fuck this 'hermione minister of magic' nonsense that girl is a leftist and would never join politics did jkr forget her own fucking canon of harry and hermione doing their absolute best to fuck the government over for the last half of the series? whatever the fuck. HERMIONE TEACHES CHARMS AT HOGWARTS.
36. I'm sorry I got so heated on that last one. I had thoughts. Anyways, Draco also goes on to become head of Slytherin and teaches DADA.
37. I was so anti-Draco for the entire first five books and then the last two books Happened and so now I'm just holding him so close to my chest. He needs therapy. And i think it takes him until their mid-twenties or so, but I think he does make amends with Harry and the crew and actively tries to come back from the actions of his youth, and obviously the Golden Trio and co are sympathetic because Harry himself in the books clearly could recognize Draco was acting on the instruction of his trusted adults, trusting they knew better than him.
38. this is not a headcanon but the wandlore of Draco having a unicorn hair in his wand and the unicorn hair wizards being the most difficult to turn evil and his wand ultimately being the one to defeat voldemort is sooooooo. He's such a product of grooming and I think about him. I want to study him.
39. YOU KNOW WHAT. what if I said harry trans woman who unpacks her gender after the war is over and has time to contemplate who she is as a person and her and Draco become a very cute and in love little couple in their early thirties??? what then???? (does this fic exist and if it does give me links)
40. I think the funniest mental image ever is if Harry just shows up to a party or whatever with everyone when they're like, 26 with Draco fucking Malfoy in his arm and is like "this is my boyfriend" with no further explanation or nothing and half of the group is like "no yeah this is an expected development" and the other half is like "THE BITCHBOY????" and yeah.
I will most definitely have more Harry Potter thoughts as time goes on but this is all I'll put into the world. Good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.

I know I like just said a few days ago I was going to step back from controversial posts for a bit but something has kind of came to my attention I'd like to address
I'm going to start of with the fact that this is not a hate post so don't get all pissed off at me for this. I'm fine with people expressing there opinions maturely but if you're just going to argue like a child I will delete the replies/reblogs and block you if needed, I don't want to deal with the drama and arguing.
Sometimes I really think people forget Barty Crouch Jr played a very big role in Goblet of Fire.
He locked a man in a trunk for weeks, turned a 14 year old into a ferret (yes he totally deserved it but the man still didn't deserve to get traumatized), is one of the main reasons Cedric died (he created the portkey-), he showed kids unforgivable curses which definitely was a bit traumatic for some of them (and seemed to trigger some ptsd for Neville), helped torture Alice and Frank Longbottom (two very wonderful people) to insanity and caused Neville so much pain by doing so.
Apparently people are defending him because his dad kind of sucked. I'd like to politely point out his mother loved him so much that she traded places with him so he could get out of Azkaban. And what does he do? Oh right, he goes right back to his old ways. I mean you'd figure most reasonable people would take that as a second chance and a reason to change, but nope not him.
... And yet people defend him and push aside the fact he's done some pretty bad things. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for redemption arcs and such, but what redeemable qualities has this man ever showed? and yes I get that he wasn't always a wizard nazi, but it's mentioned in the seventh books that a group of people who become such were doing really terrible things around Hogwarts, and one harmed Mary pretty badly. Just imagine what he did to people during his time at Hogwarts. People don't become evil over night. And unlike a lot of the des out there, he didn't have an entire family supporting Voldemorts actions that drove him to do it, he did it on his own accord.
now, before anyone goes "Oh that never happened!" or "He'd never do that!" he's some proof:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm not even going to bother finding the parts where he scars kids for life just because he can. I think this speaks for itself.
and someone pointed out that yes, his dad was a fucking bastard but most characterss had terrible families. I can name so many other characters that went through a lot and didn't do things like this over it. the man even had the audacity to lie about doing a lot of it. yes he was young then, but even years upon years later he made no effort to change for the better. I can almost guarantee that if he would've genuinely changed, Crouch sr would not have done half of this stuff. Like do you really think most parents would willingly do that to their children? he knew if he didn't then they'd both end up getting in trouble (not saying he should've done it, just that he didn't do it for nothing, his own reputation aside he was probably worried his son would end up hurting people again).
I really don't understand how people can defend and love this character...
but whatever. idc. i dont like him but if you do then it's whatever. I'm not going to be directly rude to you if I don't like the same characters or ships as you so don't go thinking this is me being rude to people who do like him, that's not the case. I'm just explaining my thoughts on the subject.

Oki then: who are your ocs and how&why did you come up with them? Have a wonderful week!
When I tell you I woke up and screamed, that I had a big stupid smile on my face, I'm not lying. I texted my friends, and I took a screenshot. I was giggling and kicking my feet like a schoolgirl.
Oh, this is a lovely loaded question, anon! I have the urge and need to yap about my children because I love them so much. For now I only want to talk about the oc that I use the most because I am so familiar with him and he swims around in my brain until something new crosses my sights.
Tumblr media
before i get into talking about Arcturus Black:
"how & why did you come up with them?"
Not to sound 'cringe' or 'weird' I typically come up with an original character if I either want to be inserted into that universe, or there is a character I really like that I want to interact with. They start out as self-inserts but over time develop their own personalities and lore. And this could go for any fandom I'm in.
Arcturus Black is one of my HP oc's whom I've fallen in love again with this HP revival. (idk how I got back into this fandom)
*p.s. I will not watch the new series on MAX because I absolutely despise JK Rowling and her writing is shit anyway
To say it bluntly, I like Regulus Black, specifically the Regulus Black whom we know nothing about. Not the fandom girliepopification of Regulus Black. He was a Quidditch player for Slytherin, joined the Death Eater's young, betrayed Voldemort because he messed with Kreacher.
I uphauled my previous Harry Potter oc and wanted to make another one because I was a Hufflepuff and had landed on giving Regulus Black a son because I had seen a lot of people give Sirius Black children. I thought I was being cool and quirky straying from what other people do. Thus the idea for Arcturus was born.
He was tall, he had dark hair he could tie up, his eyes reminded me of the moon, he barely smiled, he hid behind books, he avoided people. Arcturus quickly became my pride and joy because I loved his personality, I loved his lore, I loved the angst specifically.
Being upset because his uncle, Sirius, preferred Harry over him and even avoided him in some cases. Sirius died in the Ministry thinking Arcturus hated him, the boy that looked almost uncannily like his brother. Fucking- He's a lil shit/pos
He has a friend group consisting of Severinus Lyall (to be yapped ab later), Luna Lovegood, and Neville Longbottom. I like to call the four of them Four Corners because Arcturus is a Hufflepuff, Neville and Gryffindor, Luna a Ravenclaw, and Severinus a Slytherin. They are his closest friends, but there are times he would rather curl up with a good book. Outsiders often mistake him looking at his book as not paying attention whenever one of his friends are talking, but he pays attention even with his face buried in a book.
Did I mention he has a crush on Neville?
He is fucking whipped for Neville Longbottom, just as I am whipped for Neville Longbottom. Dare I say more?
JkJk I will say more. Arcturus denies ever having feeling for Neville in the first place because he's afraid of those feelings. He's afraid of what other people will say. He doesn't know himself well enough to trust those feelings, mainly he's just scared his feelings are filling the void in him cause he has no idea who his dad is.
He's protective of his friends, protective of Neville. He fights for the people who stood by him when everyone else doubted him. He cherishs his friends. They are his support system when he is at Hogwarts.
The disconnect with the Black family name because he didn't grow up with anyone, the hatred of who he is because everyone already assumes the worst of him. I mean, I've planned for Arcturus to have a whole arc to himself about wanting to understand himself and wanting others to understand him because so many people choose to think they already know who he is just because of his name.
And I can relate to him, so much. I can relate to not feeling like I understand myself, or that I'm even more isolated from my already small family, its why I love him so much.
The only reason why I don't think he's a self insert completely is because with writing, everyone puts a piece of themselves in it. In whatever they create, the artist breathes life of their own into their creation. Sure, Arcturus isn't my only oc but he was the one I wanted to talk about because I use him more than the others. I have quite a few that I could talk about but they aren't as feral on the brain as Arcturus is. I'm writing a new fic with him, I'm developing him more. (the fic is a sequel, you should check it out/j)
Okay, I didn't exactly try to sit down and write this in one go, nor did I really have a list or uniform information about Arcturus. I don't exactly write things down about my ocs, instead end up telling my irl friends random blurbs about them whether I have an idea involving fanfiction or not. Honesty, I should do that Meet the Character Monday thing...
If you've read this far, thank you very much for reading. And again, anon, thank you so much for asking this question. It made my day to see it in my inbox!

Introducing The Paths to Atonement
My newest fic, The Paths to Atonement, is now being released on AO3! The first TWO chapters are up now. Plan on weekly updates :D Summary: Hermione wakes up to find herself in what she concludes is a magically-enhanced labyrinth, the last thing she remembers being fragments from the Battle of Hogwarts. As she makes her way through the maze, she finds herself facing Death Eaters, dangerous and lethal magical beasts, and even worse, a few choice Slytherins.
Together, the inhabitants of the maze must learn to work together to survive, all while piecing together the final steps to defeating the Dark Lord once and for all. *:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧*:・゚✧ This is a Golden Trio Era fic, where things are mostly canon up until the point to where Harry is revealed to be alive, give or take a few small adjustments that will be revealed in the fic itself. In terms of characters, you'll be pleased to know it's got a big ol' ensemble cast featuring Blaise Zabini, Theo Nott, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, and more.
While there is an eventual dramoine endgame (I know it's not everyone's cup of tea... it's not mine either unless it's written well and I think I did a good job at giving it a go), this fic is much more plot-focused than romance-focused. Really it's more enemies to friends heavy with some open ended "ooh" moments... can't say too much but you'll see. Despite this, there are some other minor ships featured throughout, i.e., Harry Potter/Ginny Weasley, Ron Weasley/Lavender Brown (revive my girl, she deserved better), and some more but I won't spoil too much. There will be no explicit content in this fic. My focus on this fic is to really try to dive into these characters (it'll have multiple POVs), how they interact with each other and the violence around them, and trying to write redemption arcs that The-Author-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named was too cowardly to do. There's some action, some humor, some angst, and lots of forced collaboration between the Gryffindors and Slytherins. Anyways, check it out if that sounds interesting to you! If not, no worries haha.

I read your Ron with an ED piece and it’s 💔. Was it a one shot or did I miss other parts?
I was in the middle of working on a much larger project for Ron suffering from an ED piece. The one you saw posted was one I tossed out of the outline because it compromised the story I was trying to tell.
The bigger piece is actually heavily Ron and Neville Friendship.
Excerpt:
The most bizarre thing to ever happen to Ron- more so than running into a Hag crossdressing as a goblin, was having Neville Longbottom throw him against a wall.
He was honestly too shocked to be angry.
“Um, what’s up Nev?”
“You promised,” Neville snarled.
“Promised what?” Ron said blankly, staring at the much shorter sixth year. Last he’d seen of Neville was in the common room last night and nothing had been out of sorts then so he was sort of drawing a white slate here.
“You’ve started changing in the bathroom,” Neville said in disgust, shoving him away. “You think I don’t know what that means?”
Ron relaxed marginally, relieved to know what had upset the normally gentle Gryffindor. He waved his hand dismissively, smiling and nudging Neville away from him.
“Don’t get your knickers in a twist. I’m eating plenty, I just…” Ron grimaced, not wanting to put the problem into words. “I had another growth spurt and… it caused… wardrobe malfunctions.” He knows his ears are burning red. He unconsciously crossed his arms, feeling his shirt stretch tight over his back as he avoided Neville’s eyes.  “I’ve been using magic to loosen the seems,” he admitted unwillingly. “And now their falling apart.”
Neville was quiet for a long moment before sighing.
“I’ve got an idea, but you’re probably not going to like it.”
Before Ron could question what he was going on about, he found his arm grabbed and Neville was dragging him down the hall.
“I’m not taking money or clothes from you,” Ron told him bluntly.
“Of course not,” Neville said airily. “Because you’re a Weasley and that would be sensible and we all know Weasley’s aren’t sensible.”
“We aren’t pity cases,” Ron hissed.
“Godric forbid a Weasley have a human weakness,” Neville said, rolling his eyes as he spoke. Ron decided this new found confidence Neville was showing was not his cup of tea. Every time Nev decided he had a backbone and a mouth, it seemed it was directed at Ron rather than in his favor.
End Excerpt.
But the piece seems to be coming together to be about the Dorm room boys: Harry, Ron, Neville, Dean, Seamus as the central cast.
Which is fun. I've not seen many stories featuring them. Which I think is part of the reason I got rid of Fred and George as it made the story more family focused.
I decided a while ago that I want to complete entire manuscripts before I post because I've become notorious for long times without posting. This is my way of fixing that issue is to just write the whole project no matter how long it takes and THEN start posting.
I've got like 6 half written projects- most 100k plus at this point. Including the first year of my Grim Ron story. Quite a few arcs ahead of Spitfire. And some more thorough writing of Boogeyman along with other projects.
Once I have them fully finished I'll post everything on Archives rather than fanfiction.net as that place seems to have fallen to the homophobes. I've gotten a LOT of poisonous things sent to me about Spitfire through PM's and I'm not having it. Same username though for anyone who wants to find the pieces.
But yes, this is one of the projects.

Hi! I really loved your post about the Silver trio dynamic and how you explained how Ginny connects them all. But you also said that Ginny is the only really well-rounded character in the Silver trio and that confused me 🤔 While I agree about Luna, there's still Neville who is also a well rounded character, someone who develops in each book and has his own story in a way, just like Ginny. Why do you think Neville isn't a well-rounded character?
This is such an insteresting question! Thank you.
Obviously Neville is more developed than Luna and less developed than Ginny but I'm sure this is not what you were questioning.
Neville does have some sort of arc through the books for sure, fundamentally we see him acquire self-confidence. And ironically we know way more about his family situation than Hermione's one. This surely can give us an insight into Neville's emotional sphere that we will never have for Hermione and that probably is one of the reasons why nobody gets her in character in fanfictions.
But a well-rounded character is one explored in depth. Someone you saw in different lights, both positive and negative. A character who was shown to you at their best and at their worst, when they were vulnerable and mean, when they were comfortable and strong.
The main thing that Neville lacks as a character for me to consider him truly well-rounded is flaws. You could maybe call Neville's lack of self-esteem a flaw but that's it and it's even something that makes you empathize with him. You will find that if there's not a single reader that hates a positive character then that character is probably not well-rounded.
What are Neville's flaws? The things that will inevitably make him unlikeable for someone? Someone that is not an assh*le like Malfoy, obviously. We simply don't know them. We are left out of his "dark side".
I have a general rule in life that I apply to both real people and my characters and that is that you don't really know someone until you fight with them.
We see Neville getting angry a couple of times in the first book but it's always righteous anger. We never see him in a proper argument with someone he cares about. How does Neville act when he's angry about something normal? Or when he feels cornered? He seems to be a very sweet guy but what are those things that he just can't help getting annoyed at? Like Harry being unable to stand his best friends' bickering or Ginny's annoyance at Fleur's behavior. As I said before, those are the details that make a character feel like a real person, well-rounded.
How is Neville Longbottom at his worst is a mystery that we weren't allowed to uncover.
Let's take a look at Ginny's dark side as a comparison. Obviously, she is more developed than him as a character, quite inevitable, but still, she is not everywhere in the books. And yet we know that Ginny lashes out when she feels cornered, can be occasionally mean and even childish if you want, she has a short temper than even leads her to sometimes hexing people. She hates being left out, being left behind, and responds aggressively to it. We know that she has a tendency of pushing down her vulnerability and instead prefers to show a strong facade. I wouldn't necessarily put this last one on the flaws list, I think it has more to do with her emotional resilience, but maybe a psychologist wouldn't agree. We even know that Harry seems to be an exception for her, with him she is more level-headed and open to listening.
Personally, if I don't have reasons to potentially dislike a character, if I can't predict well enough how they would act in an argument, I don't think I can call them well-rounded. Not that those are the only requirements.

What's your top 10 Harry Potter favorite characters and favorite book and your house of Hogwarts?
Holy shit I got an ANON???
Okay okay.
Top ten characters from best to least best.
1. Harry Potter.
I would say this is self explanatory but he gets a weird amount of hate. Harry is a phenomenal protagonist. He’s relatable no matter where you come from. He’s funny and intelligent and kind and yet he never comes off as OP. He’s never obnoxiously endearing. He’s just great. He’s not perfect and that’s what makes him perfect. I love Harry.
2. Ron Weasley.
Anyone who has ever been a teenage boy will relate to Ron. His insecurities are so well represented and uncomfortably accurate. Along with the rest of the Weasleys, he’s believable. They all feel real and layered and Ron is the one we know best so naturally he’s the highest.
3. Ginny Weasley.
Considering this character has at least two full character arcs written between the lines, and that anyone with half a brain can see it, is fucking awesome. I’m not going to go on about Ginny for too long, but she’s great. I like that she has normal insecurities mixed in with the magical unfamiliar stuff. She resembles a lot of people I know irl, and they’re pretty cool people. So yeah. (Also most Ginny hate is written by people who were too insecure in gym class and read books at the back of language arts)
The rest I’m going to name without much explanation.
4. Albus Dumbledore
5. Minerva McGonagall
6. Sirius Black
7. Molly Weasley
8. Fred and George Weasley
9. Dolores Umbridge (Gotta appreciate well written villains.)
10. Dean Thomas/Neville Longbottom. I cant choose between them but I love Dean and who doesn’t love Neville.
Favourite Harry Potter book is tough, but I’m going to say Order of the Phoenix.
This is probably the only book where Rowling’s writing is at its peak. The subtleties in character interactions and the way Harry’s depression is written is fantastic. The DA, the Ginny hints, RON BEING THE BEST FRIEND EVER. Umbridge and her everlasting bullshit. It’s the one I get the most out of on rereads, and is the book that always reminds me that yes, canon was the best way this could’ve gone.
My runner up (and it’s a close runner up) is Half-Blood Prince, and not for the reasons you’d expect out of a Hinny shipper.
Yes, I love the Hinny we get here but I love this book for its humour and Tom Riddle. Considering how hit and miss Deathly Hallows is for me, I’m glad I have this book to fall back on.
Oh, and my Hogwarts house is Ravenclaw. Kind of an L but hey we got… um… Flitwick.
