So after watching part of Lego Monkie Kid I got curious about Monkey King and the Journey to the West story, so I decided to go to Wikipedia to look up the characters.

Describing the Dalai Lama, the leader of Tibet from before it was even annexed by the China and has lived most of his life in exile as "an 80 year old Chinese man" is just... wow!

There were other red flags like saying Tibet is a part of China and that China rules Tibet which are technically true. China does rule Tibet after forcefully invading and annexing the leaders. And while China officially agreed to allow Tibet to maintain its autonomy initially and choose some of its own leaders, they did this while moving in a ton of Han Chinese to the area so that they could ensure that modern day Tibet would be unable to be governed by actual Tibetans.

This is CCP propaganda.

For anyone uninformed on the state of affairs in Tibet, China colonized Tibet. China invaded and has been committing a cultural genocide against the Tibetan people and culture.

They've been arresting Tibetans for teaching the Tibetan language...

And have arrest children as young as 11 for complaining about their language not being taught...

In fact, it's a regular occurrence for writers and teachers in Tibet to be taken on flimsy grounds of "separatism."

They've also been seizing control of the religion itself.

When the Dalai Lama named the next reincarnation of the Panchen Lama, the 6-year-old boy was disappeared by Chinese officials so that they could implant their own puppet to the role.

In fact, the secular state of China has mandated the ability to choose the reincarnations of all Lamas, and that no Lama may be recognized without their approval.

And if any of this oprression is confusing to anyone, don't worry. Human's Rights Watch has made a handy little glossary of repression in Tibet.

So yes, it's technically correct that China does "rule" Tibet. They have complete control and have exercised that control to eradicate Tibetan culture, erase its language, and claim ownership of a religion it doesn't even believe in.

But please don't call the Dalai Lama a Chinese man.

Don't pretend to care about Tibetan culture while spouting CCP propaganda as they erase and destroy that culture.

sorry but i find it really hard to believe that ao3 was down because of some sudanese hate group that's mad about lgbt content. that Literally just sounds like something people who donate way too much money to ao3 would make up to convince themselves that theyre oppressed for reading incest fanfiction and that the ao3 staff are heroes who are immune to criticism
