apparently y'all Are desperate enough for my Lomadia Oc so uh. hope you're in the mood for [checks notes] ~13 paragraphs, half of which is just description!
allow me to introduce Villom!
She doesn't have an actual name or in-universe nickname, I just call her Villom. Because she was originally a Villain Version of Lomadia from a sci-fi world for some comic idea I totally scrapped bc it sucked. Except for Villom!
So basically what if we put Lomadia in space and gave her every problem and no normal coping mechanisms
The base universe is Completely Impossible sci-fi space stuff, involving solar systems being relatively close together and having tons of habitable planets, with star trek 'convergent evolution' making everybody a Weird Human Basically. Part of these choices is that I. Don't actually like sci-fi lol. I don't think its bad I just can't Get Into It, so I did the lazy version. HOWEVER I do also use the fact that its extremely artificial and story-focused as part of the plot so its FINE There IS also magic, but it’s generally less used, as tech is more accessible and less complicated from a user standpoint. That doesn’t mean it isn’t powerful, if you know what to look for. Thats foreshadowing!
Compared to base Lomadia, Villom is.. very immature. She has trouble identifying and controlling emotions, she's quick to anger and holds grudges. She's also more impulsive and tends towards insults and crude jokes. She's actually pretty fun to hang out with as a result, but responsibility is a role she's crushed into, and it never truly fits. She's trying her best ok
Villom starts out her story as a young adult, training to be a pilot. She does some hero shit, but breaks so many rules in the process and gets kicked out. She’s enraged by this betrayal of what was supposed to be her life, and steals a ship to go rogue and try to pursue her dreams anyways. She doesn’t exactly know what she’s doing, though, and eventually a chase causes her to crash on an unfamiliar planet, where she meets Rythian. He’s steampunk now, don’t question it
Anyways, they end up teaming up, and form the first of her crew. Later additions are Martyn, who is a mouse guy who has So Fucking Many People Who Want Him Dead, and Zoeya! Who ended up separated from Fionn following partially the plot of Mushbury, and works as the ship’s engineer. Their ship (that lasts long enough to get a name…) is called the Ask, and Villom occasionally (and jokingly) calls her crew the Answers. (Its called the Ask because originally I gave the characters nicknames based on Norse mythology for Pretentious Reasons, those might come back later)
So everything’s all fine and poggers for a while, with the Ask’s crew causing mischief and undercutting evil empires across the worlds- and then Villom’s home planet is destroyed. And she sees it happen.
See, one of the tropes of sci-fi that bugs me, is how understated the death of an entire planet tends to go. This is the first step of Villom realizing how truly fucked up the world they live in is- and the first step of her wondering why it has to be this way, and how to stop it.
It only gets worse from here.
No matter how many evil empires they topple, no matter how many massive threats they thwart, there’s always another one. And no matter how fast they are, they can’t stop every world-ending crisis. Villom starts learning magic, wondering if theres some kind of solution there. When she doesn’t find one, she just looks harder. Brushing so close with forces she’s alone in experiencing wears on her, compounding with their futile mission.
The breaking point is when Rythian dies. Raiding an enemy ship goes wrong, they’re outnumbered, they’re trying to retreat. Surrenders are not accepted, there.
It’s another thing she sees happen, another thing she was inches away from but unable to stop. And she can’t take it. She can’t take losing another part of her, another of the few things she could call home in this cold void.
She takes some of the things she learned looking where she shouldn’t- and kills the nearest member of the enemy team, trading a life for a life. And part of her soul as tax, of course. Just a small bit, this time. She never tells him. Pretends it was instead an incredibly close call. He probably knows she’s lying, on some level, but he never says it.
Villom is desperate, now. There’s more and more things she’s hiding from her crew, more and more boundaries of safety she’s pushing. She trades one of her eyes for the ability to see the functions of the world itself- maybe it’s a mistake, there’s some gear stuck, and if she fixes it this infinite loop of wars will stop.
There is no mistake. This is how the universe is intended to function.
She can’t give up. Because if she stops, she’s never going to get up again.
Maybe there’s other worlds where it’s better, where it’s safe. Maybe there’s a way to make this world like them.
Maybe there’s a way to leave.
She’s barely human anymore, even though she looks perfectly fine. Her hair is white, her eye replaced, but that’s all. She’s replaced the things she’s traded away. She’s barely even a part of the world, anymore. Unstuck from the threads of it, floating as a constant point, unchanging and undying, snapping back into place when moved.
A lot of universes are visited by a strange woman with white hair, who never stays. Sometimes she’s a savior, or a tyrant, or merely another passerby.
One of them, somewhere, has to have an answer. The way to break the cycle. And Villom will find it- even if she has to take every one of them apart.

So, there is an onslaught of fanfiction being published and made into movies. We all know their origins are 1D fanfiction. No hate here, I'm just wondering when the BTS fanfictions will arise to join the ranks, because damn have I read some good fanfictions and I'd love to see them get published

One of the things that has always bothered me from published works to fandom driven ones is that women are not allowed to be human in the way that men are. There will be argument to this--pushback--there always is when things like this are said, but my opinion remains the same for the stories of women.
A woman cannot express anger or acts of violence or hold regret for her actions on some days while repeating them later on. Women can react, but they are not allowed to destroy their enemies beyond reason and justification. Women can react, express emotion beyond various degrees, but they are not allowed to do it in any manner that is not tearful or consolable by the resolution of a man. Women can be the hero of the tale or the villain, they can be selfless or selfish, but the moment complexity is shown the discourse begins because female characters are not allowed to be both or neither. They are given the same routine when they are: the judgement, the punishment, the write-off. All for things that are expected of male characters. Things that male characters are allotted and allowed and understood for and forgiven.
Women are not given the luxuries of men when they are placed upon pages. Perhaps because we are not given the same luxuries in reality.
And it is tiring.

good fan fiction has ruined me
Sometimes someone will tell me, "Hey, this published romance is great; you should read it!" And the truth is, it is usually fine, but never as good.

Hounds of Hell MC 2: Snow
Tumblr media
Emily -- Most wonderful time of the year? Yeah, right. Business isn’t booming at my bakery this Christmas and I’m behind on my business loan. And if that weren’t enough, my SUV’s transmission is dying, my ex is in town for the holidays, and our regular Santa broke his leg and can’t make it for the annual children’s Christmas party. Somehow, we’ve ended up with a biker playing Santa Claus this year and I think he’s the wrong man for the job. Santa shouldn’t have all those muscles and tattoos. And I shouldn’t be daydreaming about sitting in Santa’s lap.
Snow -- I’m not a man with a sweet tooth -- at least I wasn’t until now. If I’d known about the gorgeous little baker, I’d have snatched her up years ago. The little lady has a lot of problems this holiday season. For her, I’ll play Santa Claus for the kids, and her ex will wish he got a lump of coal in his stocking when I’m done with him. Emily will have a good Christmas. I guaran-damn-tee it.
Buy it today!

Emily
“Wait. What?” Emily Frost couldn’t have heard that right. The annual Christmas event they held in Mercy each year for the town’s children was two weeks away. “What do you mean Andy isn’t going to be able to play Santa Claus this year?”
While she listened to the elderly man’s wife explain why he wouldn’t be able to be Santa this year, Emily was fighting off hysteria. She understood that he’d taken a nasty fall and told his wife she was very sorry he’d broken his leg. Automatically, she asked if there was anything she could do. She did care. But she really wasn’t listening for a response.
What was she going to do?
Emily carried on the rest of the conversation as best she could, taking a deep breath when she ended the call.
“Fuck!” Her yell echoed through the quiet bakery.
Could things get any worse? She was blinking back tears as she finished counting the register and got all the goodies that hadn’t sold today boxed up. And there was a lot that hadn’t sold today.
The planning committee for the Christmas event was meeting tomorrow. Each member of that committee had jobs to do to make the event happen each year. Liza Austin and her husband owned a greenhouse in town. Each year they provided a beautiful wreath for the door. A live potted Christmas tree for the event was displayed in her bakery shop’s window throughout the holidays. Liza had a key to the shop to take care of the tree so it could be replanted later.
Myra Michaels handled the guest list, answering questions from parents and guardians about the event. She also handled donations that came in. Mina Dock had passed away this summer, but her granddaughter had moved back to town and was taking her place on the committee. Jade Dock and Emery Phillips oversaw setup, using folding chairs and tables Emery used at his bar, Sackett’s, for special events. They got out the decorations they used each year. Most had been donated by Jade’s grandmother Mina.
Emily had been a part of the committee since its first year, five years ago. Her job was supplying all the baked goods for the event and, with help, filling stockings with candy and treats for the kids to take home.
And she’d been the one who found their Santa Claus, Andy Wilder. Each year the elderly gentleman arrived as Santa and was just the best part of the entire event in her opinion. His warmth and sincerity made him a perfect choice. Plus, he could handle anything from kids scared of Santa, to those who were acting up and rowdy.
But he wasn’t coming this year. That was just the latest calamity this week and it was just Thursday night.
Where were they going to get another Santa Claus with two weeks to go?
Locking the door on her way out, she carried the box of goodies out to her SUV and got in. Emily crossed her fingers that the damn thing would start because it hadn’t been running right for the last several weeks. She knew her transmission was failing. What she didn’t know, since things had been so slow at the shop, was where she was getting the money to fix it.
In five minutes, she reached Mercy’s homeless shelter, delivering what she didn’t sell as she did every day the bakery was open. Heading for the back door, Emily rounded the corner and almost collided with someone.
“I’m sorry,” she muttered glancing up into gray eyes.
There were two men, both tall and wearing leather vests with their biker gang name on them, carrying a bed frame into the shelter. The one closest to the door was blond and nice-looking. The one she almost ran into? He was just as tall and muscular with a dark beard and mustache and almost entirely white locks of hair were in disarray on his head. She did a double take because hair that color didn’t usually go with a younger face. His eyes were pale gray and stunning.
The Hounds of Hell had long been a part of Mercy according to Liza, and she spoke of them fondly. Emily didn’t know much about motorcycle gangs and none of them ever came to her bakery. She really wanted to keep it that way. They were a little scary for her.
That gray-eyed gaze moved over her until the blond lost patience. “Snow, we still moving this frame?”
Snow returned his attention to the task, and someone else walked over to her.
“Emily, how are you?” Jade Dock asked. “Making your deliveries?”
Emily smiled. “I am. How are you?”
“Donating some things,” Jade said, watching the men carry the bed frame carefully through the shelter door. “At least I have some strong help to move them.”
Jade walked with her into the shelter. As she always did, Emily placed the box of treats on the receptionist’s desk just inside.
“Who’s your friend?” a deep voice behind her asked.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Guys, this is Emily,” Jade said, motioning to the two bikers who were apparently with her. To Emily, she said, “This is Hero and Snow.”
Emily shook hands with both, noticing the one she called Snow wasn’t too quick to release her hand. By the time he did, she noticed the blond had his arm around Jade’s waist. So they were a couple?
“I’d better get going,” Emily said. “It’s nice meeting you.”
“I’ll see you at the meeting tomorrow?” Jade called as she walked back to the SUV.
When I get to tell the committee we need another Santa Claus, and we just have two weeks to find one? Yes, wouldn’t miss it.
“I’ll see you there,” Emily said over her shoulder as she reached the door. And as she headed back to her SUV, she just hoped the damn thing would start and not embarrass her in front of the bikers.
* * *
Snow
August Crowe, Snow to his MC, watched the petite blonde rush back to her SUV, the long braid of her hair dancing behind her. She looked so perky in her soft sweater and form-hugging slacks. He’d never seen an ass like that on such an uppity girl.
“Who’s that?” Snow asked Jade as he helped Hero get the old box spring out of the truck bed.
Jade watched her drive away in her SUV before turning back to Snow. “That’s Emily Frost. She owns Whisk and Whimsy in town. It’s a bakery.”
Frost, huh? That had Snow grinning. They sounded like a matched pair.
“Say that five times really fast,” Hero said from the other side of the furniture they were moving.
Figures. She looked like someone you’d find in a bakery, making treats. If he thought she’d give him the time of day, Snow would become a bakery patron real fucking fast. But from the look she cut him, he probably wouldn’t have a lot of luck.
“What meeting is tomorrow?” Hero asked Jade, holding one end of the box spring and guiding Snow who carried the other.
“Planning committee for the annual kids’ Christmas party,” Jade explained. “It’s only two weeks away.”
Jade had mentioned it recently. Doing an event for the poor kids in Mercy sounded like a good plan to him. If Miss Uppity was in on it, she had a good heart.
“If you need help with that, let me know,” Snow said. It earned him a look from both Jade and Hero, but he meant it. There had been a few times when he’d been a kid that he and his family wouldn’t have had food if not for the kindness of others. He liked the idea of paying it forward.
“Thank you, Snow,” Jade told him. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
Hero shook his head as they reached the shelter door.
“What?” Snow asked. “Something wrong with wanting to help kids? Razor did say we should do some community outreach.”
“Not that,” Hero said. “The blonde. I’d forget that if I were you.”
“Why?” Jade asked. “Emily’s nice.”
“Maybe so,” Hero said. “But I’d be willing to bet someone in an MC isn’t exactly her type.”
“I might have said the same thing once,” Jade didn’t look convinced. “You can’t assume things like that.”
She had a point.
“So the party is for any kid in Mercy?” Snow asked as they maneuvered the box spring through the shelter door.
Jade followed them. “Technically. We have to leave it open for anyone to avoid singling people out, you know? The ones who really need help.”
“Good approach,” Snow said.
“I’m told each year we have a tree and decorations. There’s an older man who comes to play Santa Claus. There are treats for everyone and everyone gets a gift from Santa. We identify the kids who really need help and they get different gifts than the ones we give the other kids that show up.”
“Makes sense,” Snow said. “What do the poor kids get?”
“The smaller ones get a toy, some candy, and a gift card this year,” Jade explained. “The older kids get candy and a bigger gift card. Santa tells them they can’t open their presents until Christmas Eve. Liza said most of the time that works.”
It was thoughtful.
They set the box spring down, heading back out for the mattress.
“Offer stands,” Snow said to Jade. “Let me know if I can help. Even if it’s just setup.”

year in review: favorite lines!
Tumblr media
I was tagged by the lovely @firenati0n in this adorable tag game where we share our top favorite segments from our published fics and/or wips! thank you for tagging me❤️
This year has been a fandom rollercoaster with being in RWRB fandom and also the SPN fandom! For RWRB, I posted three works (and have like 3 WIPS) and for SPN, I posted one fic (and unfortunately no WIP)
Starting with RWRB fandom,
Published (all works have been published in ao3) -
1. It’s the First Kiss (it’s flawless, really something, it’s fearless)
“How bad?”
“I don't know,” Henry said.
Alex's heart broke even further. He nudged Henry, “Scoot over, let me hold you.” Henry obliged without any further question. Alex slipped beside him under the covers and wrapped his arms around Henry. “Is it all the way black?”
“All the way.” It was a system they had come up with in their first year of living together—a colour system to know how bad the day was. Blue stood for ‘feel like shit but I'm going to be fine’, gray was for ‘feel so horrible, but a hug will cure me’ and finally, black was for ‘it hurts to even breathe, need you to hold me and never let go’.
Henry turned around the embrace and rested his cheek against Alex's chest. The rhythmic beats of his heart calmed his mind but it was not enough. He was still hurting. Alex gently carded his fingers through his golden strands and Henry felt himself tearing up. “Shh, shh, sweetheart, it's alright.” But the tears never stopped. Sobs racked his body as he made a mess of Alex's shirt with tears and snot. However Alex only pulled him closer to himself. “It's alright, H, let it out. I'm here for you.”
2. You Gave Me Roses (I Left Them There To Die)
“It's fine. Here—” Alex made a space on his bed for Henry to sit beside him, “Baby, please c’mere.”
And who was Henry to ever deny Alex anything?
“Henry you're so fucking wrong if you think I don't want you. I want you—all the good parts, all the bad parts and even the parts that you have sworn to hide away forever.” Henry's eyes snapped back to Alex. The familiar pain returned, and the final vestige of armour began to crumble. Despite his attempts to hold onto it, he sensed it slipping away, leaving him exposed and vulnerable. “Let yourself have me.”
“I want to.”
“Then fucking have me.”
And then again, who was Henry to ever deny Alex anything ?
3. The Great American Roommate Experiment (also a WIP series)
Henry grumbled, “Go to sleep, Alex.”
“Henry, what happened?” Alex asked. “If I did something wrong then I’m sorry.”
“You did nothing wrong. Not everything is about you, Alex.” Henry sounded harsher than he meant to be because deep-down he knew it was a lie—if he could, he would have made everything about Alex.
Alex frowned deeply, “Okay, fuck, fine! Don't have to be so fucking rude Henry. I just wanted to watch Bake-off with—”
Henry was exhausted, horny and truly couldn't give a fuck right now. He hadn't had a decent sex in a long time and he was tired of pining after a man who was so out of his reach, he could have fucking well lived in the goddamn outer space, “Christ, Alex! Can't you just let a man have a bloody wank in peace?”
Now onto WIPS -
1. The +1: Boyfriend for Rent
The devil on Henry's shoulder is pulling an overtime again. He gives Alex a nod and is dragged off to the dance floor. The pulsating rhythm envelopes the two boys while they navigate the dance floor in shared harmony.
Alex lets his hands rest in the dip of Henry's waist and the blonde's steps falter. “It's all in the hips, sweetheart,” Alex sways his hips to establish his point. And Henry—yeah, Henry is not okay. Alex guides Henry's hands up to his shoulders, drawing himself close to the blonde's chest. With a continuous rolling motion of his hips, Alex grinds against him. He feeds into his urge to be infinitely close to Henry and tucks his face into the crook of Henry's neck.
“Is this okay?” Alex breathes out against the blonde's neck. Henry nods. “Words, sweetheart. I need words. I want to follow each clause.”
“Yes—” Henry struggles to suppress a whimper that lingers at the edge of his lips as Alex's hands ascend to his chest. “It's okay.”
2. Unnamed Spy AU
“Ms. Bankston,” Henry raises his eyes to meet their superior's gaze, who appears poised to throttle both the Agents. “May I possibly be removed from this mission? I do not want to risk Agent Claremont-Diaz’s well-being because—” he whips head around towards Alex “—you don't seem to trust me at all.”
For a fleeting moment, Alex was thrown back in the past—back to their first mission together, in Rio. “Henry,” Alex wheezes, “Call b-backup. Henry?” He is running out of breath; running out of time. The bullet—a merciless messenger of death—has slotted itself beside his sternum. It's a miracle that the piece of metal didn't manage to puncture his heart. He is bleeding out. “Henry?” Alex calls for his partner but it's futile. For Henry stands paralysed—
“Alex?” Zahra's voice snaps him out of his reverie. Alex tips his chair back to stand up. He senses the twitching and shaking in his hands and fingers, recognizing the signs of an impending panic attack. “Agent Claremont-Diaz, are you okay?”
3. Unnamed Bridgerton AU (Idk when or how i will write this with Regency era English lol)
“And what? Tarnish the family name to find myself a husband? Gran will never allow me this respite.”
“Brother, you cannot—”
“I must.” That was all he told Bea before he was off to do his duty—find himself a wife. Henry let his inquisitive gaze travel the room in hopes that he could find a woman suitable enough for him to carry on a conversation. While he didn't hold an overly high opinion of himself, contemplating a loveless union compelled him to seek a lady whose wit could at least match his own. One could only endure tales of knitting for so long.
It was at that moment he glimpsed her presence, adorned in silk embellished with golden sequins. Miss Catalina June Claremont-Diaz, her eyes radiating keen intelligence as she engaged in conversation with Lord Richards who was simply quite taken by her. Yet, as he allowed his gaze to linger further left, a surge of emotions overwhelmed him, leaving him in a state of bewildered captivation for a long time.
The cause of this mesmerization was none other than a strikingly handsome gentleman who stood guard beside her. Upon further inspection, Henry understood it was Mister Alexander Claremont-Diaz, Miss June's younger brother.
Hello, old friend SPN fandom,
Published (On Tumblr) -
If We Love Again
“I remember very clearly you throwing me out of the bunker and telling me never to contact you again. You know what, showing up tonight was my bigges—”
“Son of a bitch, I can't believe I'm fucking doin’ this,” Dean murmured.
“Wha–” The rest of the question turned into a squeak and Dean’s lips crashed into her. And then the thoughts crashed into him. Fuck.
Dean immediately jumped back from her. “I'm so sor—”
“If you dare to say sorry for this, I am telling Sammy to shoot you in your dick, asshole,” Y/N panted, “Fucking come, kiss me, you moron!”
Now onto tagging!

The full paperback wrap for Burn the Bone!
"As usual with these kinds of books, check your trigger warnings. R.E. Johnson does a great job of being very upfront about what lies ahead in her books so you never have to worry about what you’re getting into, but these books aren’t for the faint of heart.
Now, with that out of the way, if you were a fan of the first book in this series, you will absolutely love this one just as much. I could not wait for more of Red and Dimitri and was not disappointed. This was everything I was waiting for and more. It was dark, gritty, a whirlwind of emotions, sexy as hell and had me in a chokehold by the end not wanting to put the book down.
RE is such a fantastic writer that has a way of fully immersing you in her worlds." -Becky, Goodreads
