Read a physical book!

You don't have to read a big 600 page book, but you should spend some time reading not on a screen. Our devices have constant notifications distracting us and causing subconscious stress. The light is also straining for your eyes (yes, even with glasses and filters). A physical book also means you can't just close the app and open social media. Reread something you already own, borrow from a friend, go to the bookstore, or even better the library! There's a genre out there for everyone, so just ask friends or an employee what kind you might like based on your interests.

If reading a physical book is just not an option for you, try audiobooks! There's still no eye strain. Libraries often have physical copies of audiobooks (I mean CDs here lol, not printed books) and if you live in the US you can download the app Libby! It's completely free, you just need a library card. It lets you digitally borrow ebooks and audiobooks from the library.

tbh even if u dont absorb anything reading books just for the sake of it can still be fun and fulfilling. to me at least

I think this is true w light reads but when it comes to serious works I actually have an issue where I overanalyze to the point of burnout (I used to be more reasonable ab it before but lately it’s been sooo excessive)….. which is actually one of the reasons for my reading slump :( I confided in my therapist about this and she advised me to get one easy read (where I don’t have to think too much & it’s just fun so I don’t feel the pressing need to analyze) and one critically acclaimed read so I can switch between the two without flatlining entirely

People complaining about Rex solving a case all on his own on S07E02 have totally missed the point of the show. This is the point of the show, Rex being a superdog. If you want a regular K9 and regular police work, go watch a K9 documentary or something. Again, Hudson and Rex is an adaptation of Kommissar Rex. In just the first season of said show, a few weeks after they've met, Rex goes out and brings Moser’s breakfast from a bakery and a deli in Vienna, then brings him his newspaper, and Moser is like, what, no coffee? Because that behavior is considered normal. In another season, Rex finds a case all on his own, interrogates the perp all on his own and brings him to his human partner just for the confession and the arrest.

So no, Hudson and Rex had not “gone downhill”. You just fail to grasp that this is the doggo show and you cannot be critical of that part if you truly understand what this show is about. There have been parts where the show has tried to take itself seriously and those are the parts it should be judged for but if you’re not willing to suspend your disbelief regarding the dog part, then this show is not for you.

started reading that murderbot book everyone raves about and let me tell you after a week slogging through a tome about the spanish civil war i am getting whiplash from the pacing of this thing
