Reimagine That Villain (Con)
Tumblr media
Naraku, Inuyasha Squandered Ultimate Villain -> Feudal Era Kang the Conqueror
Part of what made Naraku falter as the ultimate villain of his series to me was that he was kept around so long, even when there was increasingly little else that could be done with him and we even had other villains on the scene, so he didn't justify his position as the Big Bad to keep around to the very end. There's quite an easy way around that for a reboot of Inuyasha: instead of doing what was done with Naraku's "incarnations" and "spawn" in the old series, have them all be literally different variants of Naraku. Make him like Marvel's Kang the Conqueror, a singular uber villain with different versions of himself across different points in space and time. This way we have a bunch of different major villains who all tie back into the singular overarching Big Bad, as they're all alternate incarnations of him!
Tumblr media
No Heart, Care Bears Evil Satanic Sorcerer -> Evil Bigoted Studio Executive
This one's pretty out there. No Heart, the demonic sorcerer villain of The Care Bears Family, would honestly be well-serviced being reinvented into an evil studio executive with an unconcealed loathing of different groups of beings such as the Care Bears. This way, he not only becomes a real threat again, he become an allegorical one: how many studio executives have tampered with the creatives' visions and works in order to churn out something that can be called "soulless" or "lacking heart"? And how many have made decisions that clearly show them to be bigots? Think an Avi Arad or an Ike Perlmutter, or even higher up the chain of command like a David Zaslav! A guy wielding such levels of power and hatred in addition to magic would be truly frightening and formiddable on so many levels. For his aesthetic, he combines features of No Heart, the Wizard Of Wonderland, and the Evil Vizier all into a singular sinister package!
(Credit to the--jacobian on Deviantart for the design edit).
Tumblr media
Noah Kaiba, Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Monsters! Bullshit Filler Villain -> AI Of Gozaburo Kaiba's Ideal Heir
This would normally fall under a villain rewrite, but in order to rewrite him, I'd have to reinvent him (and obviously I'd want whatever story he featured in to be set far away from the Battle City arc!). Rather than be a virtual replica of Gozaburo Kaiba's deceased biological son who for some reason bears resemblence to his adopted son Seto, Noah should've been an AI program made to emulate the ideal heir that Gozaburo wanted to turn Seto into, one that'd take on a life of its own in an effort to live up to its purpose and become that heir, which would obviously require destroying and replacing Seto to do so.
Tumblr media
Otonokoji Twins, Super Danganronpa Another 2 Serial Killer Abuser And Her Victim -> Pro LARpers Who Are Ultimates In Manipulation And Torture
It's sort of an AU idea based on what the twins were as young adults. In addition to them being a successful music duo, I can see them as gifted at acting and LARPing whatever gimmicky thing they choose to be to work their acts into, and whenever there's any threat to their livelihood detected, Kanade would turn to manipulation and different ways to torment the target - abduction, extoriton, blackmail, mind games, meddling, musical torture, indirect murder, you name it - and would often strongarm Hibiki into being her faithful accomplice.
Tumblr media
The Phantom Blot, Disney Comics Black Cloaked Criminal -> Unfinished Character Who Shapeshifts
I legit have no idea why this hasn't become a thing for this character. Make this guy an actual ink blot of what was going to be a cartoon character but who never got finished and whose rough sketch got discarded to decay into the "Phantom Blot" it is now. Give them Clayface powers, including the power to shapeshift into different cartoon characters to pull of their crimes! It seriously writes itself!
Tumblr media
Prince Phobos, W.I.T.C.H Tyrannical Usurper -> Charming And Orderly Authoritarian
I know Elyon got a rebooted incarnation recently, but what about her older brother Phobos? I think there's a lot you could do with him if you made him into this more Akio Ohtori-esque character, seemingly the perfect Prince Charming with a handsome, kind face and an outwarldy benevolent reign upon the land he rules, but behind this mask he's a complete sociopath and an authoritarian tyrant who looks to conquer or destroy the other realms of Metamoor so that Meridian alone could stand as the only prosperous, powerful nation. Y'know how in the TV show there was this dumb plot element of Phobos decieving Elyon through illusions that made his Meridian look beautiful and peaceful? Make his Meridian actually like that! Both he and his domain, pretty covers concealing hideous truths.
Tumblr media
Mr. Potter, It's A Wonderful Life Sociopathic Wealthy Realtor -> Sociopathic Mega Corporotist
Remaking It's A Wonderful Life is something else that becomes the topic of rumors and discussion every now and again. If it was to be remade in a modern time and Mr. Potter was to be included, there's really no better direction to take him in than to embody the stone cold inhumanity of cutthroat capitalism and corporate avarice. Push him in an even darker direction, with more details spared for just how fucked up and corrupt an enterprise his "Pottersville" would truly be.
(Image used is of actor Brendon Gleeson as Winston Churchill).
Tumblr media
The Q Continuum, Star Trek Q Continuum -> Q Anon
Yeah. It's that fucking obvious.
Tumblr media
Dr. Regal, Megaman Battle Network/NT Warrior Evil Net Criminal Mad Scientist -> Horror-Themed Cyber Terrorist Mastermind With Military Ties
For both Dr. Regal and Nebula, I touched upon this in this post.
Tumblr media
Rosemary Applefied, Nadja Of Tomorrow Wannabe Princess -> Ruthless Young Capitalist
This one's less a total reimagining and more what Rosemary would likely become as she strove to make a fortune and a living for herself in America after the events of the series. Definitely not anywhere near the level of Mr. Potter, but cutthroat in business all the same.
Tumblr media
Sailor Galaxia, Sailor Moon Alien Demigoddess Sailor Soldier -> Evil Studio Executive
What Sailor Moon Stars ought to have done with this character! They had Shadow Galactica using the Ginga TV studio as a front for their operations. Information known about this is that there are many civilians also working there who have nothing to do with Shadow Galactica, the Sailor Animamates are employees there, use desks and lunch rooms, and conduct their business incognito, and a supposedly out of service elevator takes you to the secret real top floor, Galaxia’s dominion. These are all solid ideas, but there’s nothing really gluing them together even when such thing was so freaking obvious - Sailor Galaxia with a civillian alter ego as the leader of the proudction company that owns the studio! Give her a fake name and have her wield illegally attained (via maaaagic) corporate influence to advance her master plan, all while the regular people who work there are completely in the dark about what they’re truly working towards, and they could double as the only victims-of-the-day that the story would need. This would’ve made Galaxia seem Freeza levels of scary in how she’d have so much power in her yet would usually not need to lift a finger to accomplish anything since she’s at the head of this corrupt business. The Sailor Senshi taking on an enemy with institutional power that shields their true evildoing wasn’t really done beyond Professor Tomoe being the head of Infinity Academy and Witches 5 doubling as students there, so to do it here was such a golden opportunity that got so tragically wasted.
Tumblr media
Slade Wilson, DC Universe Masked Mercenary Mastermind -> Corruptive Teacher
Great Slades and not-so-great Slades have come and gone, but I'd kill (no pun intended) to see a version of Slade Wilson who keeps all else about his character in-tact: army vet, big game hunter, toxic family man, masked mercenary killer, supervillain, etc., but has his day job be that of a school teacher or a principal. An occupation where he has access to young people that he can manipulate, corrupt, prey upon and use as pawns in his secret criminal games. Sort of a Walter White crossed with Gakuho Asano if you will. That would be super interesting and really lean into his darkest facets.
Tumblr media
Steele, Balto Jerk Jock Killer Sled Dog -> Police Brutality Dog
There was always kind of a problem with Steele in how he was meant to be a Gaston type character where though his a prideful, boorish jerkass, he's a beloved figure in town....only he was designed, animated, and voiced to be as Maximum EVIL as possible, without even a pretense of subtlety, making it a stretch that no one had a clue about how evil he truly was until he actually goes and does really inexcusably evil stuff. But if we incorperated Steele into an urban setting like Shere Khan in Tale Spin, the remedy to this would be quite simple: make Steele a cop. This way not only does he win over the reverence, respect and goodwill of the public for a different reason, but it suggests he also keeps others in line through fear. He can act as aggressively, blatantly evil as he wants to, what's anyone going to do about it? He has a fucking badge, and it shields him from paying consequences for his corrupt, cruel, and unethical actions. His prejudice against half-breeds like Balto would also take on new meaning, as it's reflective of the very worst of such dirty cops.
Tumblr media
Sweeney Todd, Sweeney Todd Demon Barber -> Demon Stylist And Merchant
Sweeney Todd was technically already reinvented when the musical stage play was first concieved, but his original iteration was so obscure that it hardly seems to matter. If Ben Barker got a second do-over, I think his villainy could be ramped up by making him not only a barber, but an acclaimed stylist and the producer and seller of various hair and skin products. Him expanding into a larger business could make him a man who "cuts throats" in a much different way, also expanding his means of killing people, both overt and subtle. And working with Ms. Lovett to make meat pies out of his victims ensures he maximizes profits in both money and in human life!
Tumblr media
Tsumugi Shirogane, Danganronpa V3 Ultimate Cosplayer Twist Villain -> Ultimate Amoral Fangirl
Basically doubling down on the Tsumugi we got to see in Alternate Continuity outside the main V3 story. As I've stated before, I do like antagonist Tsumugi when she’s actually being antagonist Tsumugi and leaning into the idea of an unhinged, amoral fangirl and fanfic writer in total control of her own Danganronpa game experience.
Tumblr media
Valmont, Jackie Chan Adventures Criminal Gang Leader -> Political Donor Who Heads Conspiracy
Were Jackie Chan Adventures to be rebooted, imagine if the Dark Hand wasn't a crime syndicate but instead a criminal web in a conspiracy that spans different places and carried out by different public figures and civil servants who are secretly involved, like with HYDRA in Captain America: The Winter Soldier? And Valmont would be at the head of the whole thing as a top political donor who makes donations and contributions to various politicians and factions in exchange for their silence and complicity with his secret movement. After a demeaning Villain Decay, this would be a return to top form!
Tumblr media
Venom, Spider-Man Vengeful Addictice And Corruptive Symbiote + Eddie Brock -> Vengeful Addictive And Corruptive Symbiote Cycling Through Hosts, Driven By Wrath, Power Lust, And Irresponsibility
In a way, they're already starting to move in this direction with recent depictions of Venom like in the 2017 Marvel's Spider-Man show, Insomniac Game's Spider-Man 2, the recent comic stories that has the symbiote bonded to a mysterious new host as the All New Venom, and maybe even whatever's coming next for Tom Holland's MCU Spidey. Eddie Brock's had his share of solid reinterpretations, but I'm glad Venom can now move away from him as a fixture.
Tumblr media
Vlad Masters/Plasmius, Danny Phantom Generic Arch Nemesis -> Half Ghost, Half Vampire Chef/Caterer With Influence Over Politics And Crime
This reimagining of Vlad I can only describe as being one part Count Dracula, one part Hannibal Lecter, and one part Chef Julian Slowik. Rather than the accident by his old friend Jack causing him to turn half ghost, Vlad would have become a vampire like he was initially planned to be and from there he'd gained his phantom powers from the Ghost Zone on his own. Amassing his vast fortune, he'd become a renonwed chef that makes recipes from Wisconsin dairy products, but uses that position to attain his special secret ingredient of human blood. He'd also have hypnotic powers that he'd use to hold sway over local politics and law, including in the criminal underworld.
Tumblr media
Lord Voldemort, Harry Potter Wizard Hitler -> Nonbinary JKR Expy
OK, this one is more than a little petty, but at the same time could make for an interesting character! Rather than be a reflection of the racist, classist, nativist despots that the UK and Europe had to contend with a century ago, Voldemort could reflect the populists, bigots, and authoriatrians of this century, and in a way that gives him a striking ressemblence to his own creator, JK Rowling. This Lord Voldemort would begin as a widely beloved figure for the magical gifts they'd imparted upon the world (much like JKR) only for their own personal vices and emotional immaturity to steer them towards seeking further power and self enrichment for the sake of their ego (again, much like JKR), to the point where they mutilate their own soul and become a shell of the human being they once were (again, much like JKR), and with newfound power and purpose they embark on a crusade to persecute and wipe out a vulnerable group of people they deem as detriments to the world order they wish to see, making it their life's mission to see them all struck from existence (again, much like JKR), and becoming the dreaded dark lord who many dare to even speak the name of. The most twisted part would be despite the insistence of being hailed as "LORD Voldemort", or "HE who must not be named", Voldemort secretly does not identify themself as male or female, hypocritically believing their greatness puts them above things such as gender pronouns and labels while in public they'd blast any such person as an inferior that must be oppressed. And unlike the Tom Riddle of old, this Voldemort doesn't fear death. They fear life that they can exert total dominance and control over.
Tumblr media
The Wet Bandits, Home Alone Common House Burglars -> Corrupt IRS Agents
C'mon, this would've been miles better than whatever the fuck Home Sweet Home Alone was doing. If only they'd agree to role reprisal...
Tumblr media
Yukio Oikawa, Digimon Adventure 02 Wannabe DigiDestined -> The UnChosen Child
Whereas Ken's change would ride on an alteration of his motivations and villainy as the Digimon Emperor, Oikawa's would hinge upon an alteration of his backstory. Rather than a longtime best friend of Hiroki Hida who could see Digimon and dreamed of going to the Digital World, Oikawa might've been either one of the first ever Chosen Children who got unchosen for some tragic reason, or one with the potential to be a Chosen Child but who got passed over by destiny when he was made to spend less time around his bestie, thus unable to observe anything more related to Digimon and the Digital World. Either way gives Oikawa a hangup that he'd carry with him all the way into adulthood, a Digimon fanatic who refused to grow up until he got to have the Digimon Adventure in the Digital World that he was owed back in his childhood. This also enhances Oikawa's desperation, which could suggest that maybe in this version his corruption and draw to the powers of darkness wasn't mere chance. Rather than the pawn of some dark entity, he's embraced the dark entity and made it part of himself, and he will have his way in the Digital World even if he has to ruin the lives of children and endanger both worlds just to reach it! It's every bit as effective and interesting as the original canonical Oikawa.
Tumblr media
Yzma, The Emperor's New Groove Treacherous Advisor Mad Scientist -> High Priestess For Supai
As with Chelsea, Dr. Irie, Lila, King Magnifico, and Vlad, this is more moving a character back towards their conceptual roots as means of reimagining the character they'd become in the final product. In the planned Kingdom Of The Sun, Yzma was the high preistess for the Temple of the Sun who secretly resented the sun, blaming sunlight for her physical aging, so she pledged her servitude to the god of darkness Supai and schemed to cast the empire into eternal night by releasing Supai via a blood sacrifice of the young Emperor Manca and granting him the power to destroy and conquer as he pleased. She's also a necromancer who reanimates mummies to serve her. Definitely a darker, more vile take on Yzma than what we ended up with, even though she's still no less comical and bungling. And this is the Yzma who'd get that awesome villain song Eartha Kitt recorded!
Tumblr media
Xehanort, Kingdom Hearts Squandered Darknessholic Villain -> Amoral Scholar Of Dark Arts
Or rather, Anxem Norterrax, a researcher who studies the powers of darkness within the Mirrorverse and those that come from such darkness like the Fractured. A retooling of Terra-Xehanort's character for the Mirrorverse setting and in name, characteristics, and even clothes he combines the best of regular Terranort, Ansem Seeker of Darkness, and Xemnas. Would've been quite fun to have around had only Disney Mirrorverse stuck around and been handled better...

Ok say what you will about Maleficent (2014) as a remake or whether it’s a good villain ‘origin story’ or not or how it’s a flawed retelling or whatever-
But, this movie is always going to have a special place in my heart as and AroAce person. Like, not only does the ‘main romance’ get maybe five minutes of screen time total and becomes a little red herring and mostly irrelevant, BUT the movie also has a huge focus on the platonic love and relationship between Maleficent and Aurora, AND on top of that, it’s that platonic love that saves Aurora from the sleeping curse at the end, not the romantic relationship.
Right now that might not seem very revolutionary, but back in 2014, fantasy and fairytale movies, and ones coming from Disney no less- having a story like this was a huge deal, especially to me as an Aromatic and Asexual person.
I remember when the movie first came out I was 11 or 12 (hadn’t discovered the queer community or the terms aro or ace yet) and starting to realize my peers were having crushes and such and felt confused and alone that I didn’t- and then this movie came out and so many of the people around me were baffled by the idea of a non-romantic love taking center stage and saving the day in a fairytale movie from Disney. I swear I watched this movie so many times during that age because it helped me feel that maybe, just maybe I wasn’t broken for not being interested in romance.
~
(context: I’m rewatching the movie and when I dove into the tag for this movie on tumblr, I was severely disappointed that no one was talking about this specifically and mostly had negative things to say about the movie overall)

Deity: Heironeous, The Vindicator
Let our hands never falter, sparing evil the sword Let our hearts never waiver, letting weakness take root Let our march never end, lest the task be left undone
Champions, zealots, fools. All these words describe the followers of Heironeous; patron god of those blinded by duty and self righteousness. From the guards who rough up vagrants for the sake of social order, to the patriotic songs sung by soldiers on the way to invade a land they've never seen, to the teacher who’s convinced they can instruct through pain, because sparing the rod really does spoil the child.
It is a terrifying thing after all to be in the wrong, to have no easy answers, to be filled with doubt, and so the Archpaladin and his clergy intercede to provide the fearful populace with direction, with easy answers, and with scapegoats when necessary.
Adventure Hooks:
The party are asked by some troubled parents to look in on the local chapterhouse of the Invincible Vanguard, who took over for the town's royal garrison some years ago. A number of youths, bored of life in their sleepy little town decided to sign up with the Vanguard a few months past and have not been seen since. The Heironeian are cagey to say the least, but through their investigation the party might stumble across the same awful secret the kids did during their initiation, as well as their ultimate fate.
A beast rampages through the countryside, sowing fear, destruction, and rumour wherever it goes. Defeating it is no easy task, but one of the local lords is willing to pay a high price should the party bring him its head as proof. Imagine their surprise when a few days later a group of Heironeian paladins are paraded through the street carrying THEIR trophy aloft, claiming all the credit and with that same lord backing their claims. It seems the party has been part of a cruel PR stunt, however will they make this right?
A series of inexplicable mishaps and borderline disasters that plague a frontier village have come to a head with one of the Vindicator's itinerant preachers convinces the locals that devilry is the source of their woes, pointing the blacksmith's tiefling apprentice. It's up to the party to prevent the kid from getting strung up, and make the villagers see reason before there's an out and out witchhunt on their hands.
Setup: From the outside, with the perspective of history, it’s easy enough to see that there’s something wrong with faith of Heironeous, how their temples and icons venerate violence, whether it be martial glory or the suffering of martyrs that needed to be avenged. How their liturgy teaches the faithful that sympathy to outsiders, questions to authority, even the smallest of doubts are weaknesses to be overcome.
But the Heironeans are the ones fighting off the monsters encroaching on your village when the baron won’t pay for garrisons or adventurers, and it’s their priests who come to hand out food to the hungry and say there’s work the town over building their new fortress, and it’s their inquisitors who stand in the market square telling the crowd that all the awful things that happened these past few years is the fault of sinful, faithless rulers, and if only they could be led by righteous men (and it is always men) and expel the social parasites then truly this realm could be one beloved by the gods.
That’s the grift, the Heironeans seize on a crisis or a fear and offer to put your life on a better track, nevermind that it’s a permanent war footing where you and your family and neighbours are conscripted to roles based on how you’d be most useful, and disagreement amounts to insubordination.
Heironeans say they’re justified of course because evil is always out there, the one true evil, Hextor, the grotesque, six armed lord of bloodshed and suffering who wishes to make slaves or corpses of all the world and the heavens besides. He is jealous of Heironeous you see, his twin brother, who is propheciesed to be the only one who can defeat him. Hextor never rests, always spawning more evil in the world, and anyone could be his follower without even knowing it... all they’d need to do is work to subvert the will of the archpaladin and they’d be abetting the scourge.  You don’t want to be an agent of evil do you? Then tithe to the church, enlist in the vanguard, obey your betters, marry early and within your kind and have more children to carry on the fight when you are too week, raise them up right, kneel when you are told, submit. Do all these things and the Vindicator will know you are good, and worth fighting for, and will forgive your mortal failings.
There is a deeper lore, behind even what the faithful or even most of their leaders know:  that Heironeous and Hextor are the same being. Sometimes it is the monster wearing the golden hero like a mask, sometimes it is the bright and radiant warrior casting a most wicked shadow, sometimes it is simply that the god of war and slaughter has two faces, fair and foul, both righteous, both tyrannical, both hungering for blood.
The cult of Hextor is a secret order within the faith, membership offered only to those chosen by their god or those that see the worship of the archpaladin for what it really is: Violence for the sake of power, power for the sake of violence. They are secretive, deflecting rumours of their existence onto puppets and figureheads that they manipulate, going so far as to create false-cults to the Scourge to draw the faithful’s attention and ire. Any fault in the church can be blamed on Hextorian infiltration, any opponent that challenges them is but an agent of the Scourge.
Titles:  The invincible, the vindicator, the archpaladin / the scourge, the herald of hells
Signs:  Oddly serene visions of violence and pain, wounds or blood on the image or relics of martyrs or weapons of champions, prophetic nightmares about the victory of Hextor.
Symbols:  A white hand or clapsed around a silver lightning bolt/ a black gauntlet clutched around six red arrows
Inspiration: Cruelty cloaked in the guise of righteousness is not an original concept but after writing  about how d&d has weird habit of using a frankly childlike view of morality in order to justify its violence  the same way that IRL hategroups do, I wanted to play around with the concept.
Likewise, I felt my campaigns needed a solid “badguy with the aesthetic of goodguy” villain and I was tired of using overzealous followers of the dawnfather or bahamut to fill out the roster.  Specifically, rather than bad people in service to an ostensibly good god (who are objectively real in the setting and thus would try to oust the bad apples), I wanted to create an evil god that used the trappings of goodness to dupe average people into doing bad, the same way that has happened over and over again historically in our own world.
I ended up choosing Heironeous for this villain makeover because like a lot of other default d&d deities I find the base form of him painfully one note, he’s the paladin god of paladins and he has hero IN HIS NAME. That said, he has a twin brother Hextor, god of war and tyrants that serves as his dark mirror and there’s thematic meat in that... Merging the two into one god gives us this delicious setup where the theology of Heironeous creates the problem and sells the solution, benefiting no matter who wins in the supposed cosmic power struggle.

Last chapter of The Great Wish Movie Rewrite up today!!!!!!
Tumblr media
Guys!!!!!! The last chapter of The Great Wish Movie Rewrite is up today!!! Read here: Link
This rewrite was so much fun! It was especially pressing for me since we can all agree Magnifico deserved better! Haha. It's a good thing we can always rewrite these things if we need to, and have a lot of fun doing it, too! Thanks to everyone who read this novelization/rewrite to the end! Link
Excerpt: Chapter Ten: Rosas Restored
Magnifico awoke on top of his tower.
The hopeful hum of the wishes had returned.
He sat up on the stone cold floor, and stared at them floating in the dawn with utter reverence for so long he almost forgot his kingdom was still in ruins.
He reached out to let one land on a finger. “How glorious.”
The skies above told him two days had passed since he'd entered the black hole.
He had so much time before him now.
Magnifico got to his feet, and walked out onto the edge of a platform. He looked down upon his kingdom of sticky rubble and wreck. “I have a great deal of amends to make,” he sighed as he bowed his head. "And I do not blame my people if they do not forgive me after this."
The first thing he did was to snap his dark staff in two, and toss it over the tower's side into the sea. He picked up his old, less potent sceptre and used it to close up his tower again, its spiked platforms folding in from their star shape back into a dome that protected the wishes once more. Then he went down from his tower, out into the streets where he used it to stop the rhinoceros still barreling around. He shrunk the animal down to the size of a mouse, and gave it to a little girl skipping past to keep as a pet, and she was too overjoyed to be scared of him when he handed it to her.
“Why bless my soul! It’s Magnifico,” said a peasant woman when she saw him strolling around the town, putting things back in order.
“It is I!” he said as he shot down the dragon with a fiery arrow from his scepter, that crashed down into the forest, and he looked so disarmingly cheerful that a grin nearly escaped her as she took in his metamorphosis, and everyone wondered what had come over him a second time.
Magnifico was in such high spirits that if he were wearing a crown and it was knocked off his head by the wind, he'd have been too cheerful to notice and gone right on without it.
Next he sealed up the tears in the earth, then herded the stampede of unicorns into a gated pasture to give to Farmer Finnegan as an apology for destroying his other livelihood, after which he turned to the dark castle he’d grown out of the ground and shrunk it into a merry go round for children to ride in the middle of his courtyard. He found that everything could be reshaped into something joyful.
“Good morning sir!” he said to the baker as he put his bakery back in order with a few zaps. “Such a fine craft you’ve perfected. I have always held it in high regard."
Once all his paradoxes and anomalies had been sorted out with some serious conundrum-solving that left his head in a guddle, and he was sure each of his subjects were as safe as could be, he went down to the edge of the forest where he found Asha and Star Boy bouncing up and down on a discarded trampoline in the shade of the trees, and walked up to them.
The pale white wand in Asha's hand had been mended, and she held it carelessly above her head as she bounced, a few sparks leaking out its end that she didn't even notice.
"A fine day to you!" Magnifico called to them, and their mouths fell open at the sight of him. They ceased bouncing. "What have we here, my dears? Let's have a look." He approached them with a smile on his face.
Asha's face scrunched up into the same one she'd made when her Saba's wish had been yanked from her days earlier. “Go away," she told the king. "Everyone was a lot better off without you. Do you think anyone is going to listen to a big stupid-head when they could listen to me? People just have to believe in themselves to make their dreams come true. You just have to follow your heart, and anything is possible. All it takes is a little faith and a wish upon a star.”
“Enough of these idiotic phrases.” Magnifico plucked the mended wand from her hand, and snapped it in two with a satisfying crunch.
Asha's face went pale, and her jaw nearly hit the ground.
"Asha, it seems you’ve finally earned yourself a proper sentence," he said, and raised his sceptre, but Star Boy was ready, and the fire he shot from his palms collided with Magnifico's spell.
But this time, the fire was no match for the white light bursting from the king's sceptre, and the star was not prepared to be hurled backward into the trees like a worthless gnat.
Star Boy emerged from the prickly plants with the look of a crumpled fly, his hair, full of prickers, sticking up as if he'd been electrocuted. He staggered forward, too dizzy to walk straight, and cried, "The earth's a mess, there's no more delight, I'm done with this, time to take flight." He shook his hair back to normal as he leapt into the air, and a suitcase materialised in his hand. "I've had my fill, this game's a bore, I can't take humans anymore. I'm packing my bags, going off with a zoom, no more human games, I'll return to the moon."
"Wait!" called Asha as Star Boy disappeared in a streak of light like a comet, right after which Magnifico sealed up the Eclipse Enclosure behind him with his sceptre, stronger and more secure than ever, ensuring he could never breach the realm again.
Asha's lip trembled as she watched.
Magnifico turned to her. "For your insolence, you will tend the chickens kept by your people day after day, from sunrise to sunset. No magic, no shortcuts. You will protect them and learn to do some good for society." And with a flash, he transported her back to the Hamlet, where she materialised surrounded by chickens inside a run closed off with barbed wire, outside which she could not step foot without getting a zap.
From then on, Asha had no choice but to follow the chickens, feed them, sweep up their dirty hay, and gather their eggs, all to the tune of relentless clucking. With no escape, she slowly, but eventually learned to focus on her tasks until she found a strange rhythm in the routine that wasn't quite pleasure, though she was no longer restless and wishful.
The same night she received her sentence, Magnifico gathered his guards into a search party to find Amaya, who had gone into hiding after his disappearance.
"I fear she is like a serpent in tall grass, watching and waiting to strike," he told his guards. "She must be found and captured at once."
It was only midnight when his guards returned with his wife, who had been hiding out in a cave in the forest.
"Magnifico, I was possessed," she tried to lie as the guards dragged her off to the dungeons. "I do not know what came over me. It was the dark magic, I swear it was." Her protests faded as she was marched down the dark lower stairwell out of sight. Finish reading: Link

The Wishing Kingdom: Our Command
Hey y’all, I think it is time for me to come up with this conclusion before I rewrite the villain song, I saw some of the issues surrounding Magnifico’s villain song such as the upbeat attitude and the lyrics being awful, for instance, when he says that he lets the people of Rosas live there for free and he doesn’t charge rent, that’s the same thing, like come on, we’ve had so many cool villain songs over the years and you guys CHOSE THIS ONE, I mean yeah, enough of my ranting let’s just get into my version!
Tumblr media
So in my version of the rewritten song, which is titled “Our Command”, is sung by Magnifico and Amaya as they are mostly mocking Asha’s conflict with wanted to please her parents by showing them that she is capable of being a wishgranter but has no skills whatsoever therefore saying that she’s unworthy of getting what she wants, the vibe I went for with this song is “Playing With The Big Boys”, “Mother Knows Best” and “In The Dark Of The Night”, so this will mostly be the couple showing their evil nature towards Asha despite being adopted by them.
Now, let’s get into it, shall we?
(Amaya speaking)
Oh, Asha, didn’t we tell you before?
(Magnifico)
There’s power, and there’s strength,
No matter what size, or even length,
You see this?! Is what you’re asking,
From us,
(Amaya)
Now what do you have to say?
Too nervous, what a bad day,
Too tedious to speak up,
Why won’t you stand up!
(Both)
By the power of glory,
How are we so unworthy?
Trust us we’ll do the talking,
Stay shut, it’s our command!
(Magnifico)
You see all these powers,
That you hold in your hands,
It seems like not everything works as your plan,
Let us teach you how to use it well,
(Amaya)
Whoops, that was all a slip up,
Looks like the crown will pass on,
(Asha)
But please, I swear it didn’t happen…
(Amaya)
Who cares, they’re just excuses!
(Both impersonating Asha)
It’s impossible,
It’s all so useless,
Why is this so hard?
Give me time to regard?
(Asha)
Is this all still a joke?
It’s not meant for that way!
(Magnifico)
Call the guards, you shall stay OUT,
Thats the case if you don’t obey!
(Both)
You’re nothing but a failure,
No questions, Session’s over,
Get gone don’t grab my hand,
This is our command!
We’ve got something to do,
Don’t worry, pet, we’ve got you,
Ha, lies, don’t mean to burst your bubble,
Now, GO, before you’re in big, big…
(Magnifico)
TROUBLE!
Tumblr media
There is also a reprise of the same song but is in a point where the couple held Antares captive while they’re about to get rid of his magical seed inside of his broach which made up star beings in the first place, and they wanted to steal it as revenge for not granting their wish and he is to blame! It’s a bit like “The Plagues” mashed up with “Hellfire” and “Friends On The Other Side” but it’s just as intense as those songs as with this, Antares was close to losing his power without that seed and all the stars as well.
(Antares)
Ugh, ugh, can you just, let me go for once?!
(Magnifico)
Uh, uh, uh, not so fast you stupid fool, right now, we’ve got a lesson to teach you…
Serveras, obstructum, evalidae qui,
Come feed all the wind and the misery,
(Amaya)
Grasunis, fraronfi, measelle stet,
Let heaven and earth break down at their fate,
(Both)
What left you hear at fault?
Our hearts were left so cold,
Because of you, so young,
We’ll take that power from your tongue,
Be prepared for your undoing,
For hell shall see you kneeling,
Now this time you won’t stand,
Now this is OUR COMMAND!
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more!

Here is my redesign of King Magnifico and Queen Amaya. Not gonna lie but these took a lot of time and thought to work on. When I looked at Magnifico’s character design I couldn’t help but think it’s not evil enough and I also love the idea of a villain couple so I decided to fix that. Both of our royal couple’s designs look relatively the same but I’ve made a few adjustments and changes so that they look more villainous. I also gave Amaya a pet cat because every classic Disney villain needs an evil sidekick. So what do you think? Do you prefer the redesign or the movie version? Feel free to let me know. Hope you enjoy! 🎨👩‍🎨🖼️🌟⭐️✨

Reimagine That Villain!
Tumblr media
So Lex Luthor, and to a lesser extent Mr. Freeze, recently got me to thinking about how many times I've seen this phenomenon: where a fictional villain begins their existence defined as one particular thing with a particular set of character traits, but then some new version of what they originated in comes along and completely reimagines the villain into something else altogether for whatever reason (usually to update the material for modern audiences), and that reinvention just hits at something so hard with the consumers of the work that it becomes what more people remember that villain as, or even the new default for how that villain is to be like in every adaptation they'll feature in. And to stress, this is not simply rewriting a villain character (which anyone could do), it is reimagining and reinventing them.
From off the top of my head, these are examples of such.
Lex Luthor famously made a shift from a mad scientist supervillain to a corrupt corporate executive in the 80's post-Crisis reboot for Superman lore, while Mr. Freeze made a shift from a petty criminal with a Freeze Ray to the quintissential tragic Anti-Villain in the 90's thanks to Batman: The Animated Series giving him that portrayal.
Jinx from League of Legends: Silly psychotic villainess -> Tragic psychotic villainess thanks to her portrayal in Arcane.
Tirac/Tirek from My Little Pony: Menacing but weak 80's villain -> a far more powerful and destructive beast in Friendship Is Magic.
Mother Gothel from the fairy tale of Rapunzel: An evil childnapping witch -> A textbook abusive mother figure in modern retellings such as Disney's Tangled or Into The Woods.
Bill Sikes from Charles' Dickens Oliver Twist: A murderous street thug -> A wealthy loan shark gangster in Disney's Oliver & Company.
Flintheart Glomgold from Disney's Duck Universe: Scrooge's "Evil Twin" -> The Poor Man's Scrooge in the 2017 DuckTales reboot.
Magica De Spell, also from Disney's Duck Universe: A Wicked Duck Witch -> The Sorceress Of Shadows in the 2017 DuckTales reboot.
Rumpelstiltskin from the fairy tale bearing his name: A Faustian deal-making, baby-stealing imp -> The Dark One in Once Upon A Time. (Parodic versions like in Shrek are discounted here).
Dr. Robotnik/Eggman from Sonic The Hedgehog: Mad Scientist Supervillain -> Mad Scientist Dictator in the initial US Sonic works, something that still does resurface from time to time and influenced Eggman as a guy with a huge fleet seeking total world domination.
Kevin 11 from Ben 10: Mutant Monster -> Evil Omnitrix Kid.
Prince Lotor from Voltron: Corny 80's villain barbaric prince -> the Magnificent Bastard he is in Voltron: Legendary Defender.
Horde Prime from Masters Of The Universe: Evil Lord of Darkness -> Evil Lord of Light in She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power.
Professor Hugo Strange, another Batman villain: Mad Scientist -> Mad Psychologist.
The Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: A one-off criminal samurai -> the ever-present Big Bad of the franchise.
The Mandarin from Iron Man: A Dr. Fu Manchu-esque Yellow Peril caricature -> a more modernized Fu Manchu character.
Doctor Doom from The Fantastic Four: A vain, vengeful supervillain -> Still that, AND a dictator of his own nation, which was introduced in the second F4 annual and it only got more focus over time.
Magneto from X-Men: A proud and incensed mutant terrorist with racism towards humans -> A sympathetic extremist with very solid reasons for resenting humanity due to their own racist behavior.
Thanos from the Marvel Comics Universe: A mad titan who wants to literally woo Death -> a mad titan who wants to stabilize the universe through mass death that's so well known from the MCU.
Taurus Bulba from Darkwing Duck: A ruthless criminal mastermind -> a ruthless visionary corporate scientist in 2017 DuckTales and the new Darkwing Duck it was setting up (and we still deserve, dammit!)
Roderick Kingsley from Spider-Man: A squandered supervillain -> a creator and abettor of supervillains.
Gabriel Agreste from Miraculous: A squandered supervillain in the show -> A terrorist mastermind in Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie.
Giovanni from Pokemon: A thuggish Yakuza boss -> a diabolical and charismatic mastermind mafioso in adaptations and later games.
Ganondorf/Ganon from The Legend of Zelda: An evil pig wizard -> the Great Demon King Of Evil.
Mr. Hyde from The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde: An allegory for the primal darkness and evil vices within man -> An allegory for repressed desire and convenient absolution of one's guilt, seen on Once Upon A Time but it's honestly a take on the Jekyll and Hyde dichotomy I'd love to see more of in more adaptations.
Dr. Griffiths from The Invisible Man: A goofy Sci-fi Horror villain -> a common domestic abuser who is legit terrifying in the 2020 film.
The Wicked Witch of the West from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: Baum's version -> the movie version -> Elphaba in Wicked (among other movie-inspired adaptations, like Zelena in Once Upon A Time)
Professor Moriarty from Sherlock Holmes: The distant and shadowy Napoleon of Crime -> a more theatrical, flamboyant Lord of Crime in works such as Sherlock, Elementary, and Moriarty the Patriot.
The Penguin, another Batman villain: a campy deformed gentleman thief who uses birds in his crimes -> a High Society crime boss.
Poison Ivy, yet another Batman villain: insane, sexual eco-terrorist -> a compassionate yet detatched and ruthless Anti-Villainess.
Slade Wilson/Deathstroke the Terminator from the DC Comics Universe: A sociopathic masked mercenary -> A psychopathic evil mastermind in the 2003 Teen Titans series. Many later versions of Slade, on some level, take influence from that extra evil iteration.
Tara Markov/Terra from The New Teen Titans: an incurable teen sociopath who joined the Teen Titans as a spy for the Terminator and the HIVE -> the more complex, tragic and redeemable character who, like with Slade, is an influence on all later incarnations of Terra.
Shere Khan from The Jungle Book has gone through various shifts. From the lame legged thug of the original story, the more fearsome and composed villain of the 1967 Disney film, the semi-honorable criminal businessman of TaleSpin, the more honorable vigilante jungle law enforcer of the 1994 Disney film, and the very threatening and psychotic takes on him we see in modern output like the 2016 Disney film and 2018's Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle.
And now to segue into the greater purpose behind this post: I'ma do my own villain reimaginings, to update certain villains into brand new modern takes on them I feel could land just as well as their existing OG iterations, or in some cases hold the potential to surpass them.

Imagine if Maginifco's Villain Song was instead a villain duet with Amaya, and it was part new villain song, and part combination of past Disney's Villain lines:
Tumblr media
They take turns singing each line, and I guess they'd either be celebrating their ingenious plan, or threatening Asha and Star or something.
Tumblr media
Magnifico and Amaya: 🎶ARE YOU READY? ARE YOU READY?🎶
Tumblr media
Amaya: 🎶You Poor Unfortunate Souls won't know what's coming!🎶
Tumblr media
Magnifico: 🎶Be Prepared for your undoing!🎶
Tumblr media
Amaya: 🎶It is we who hold your wishes and dreams. Face it, You're Only Second Rate!🎶
Tumblr media
Maginifico: 🎶Our power and rule will spread like fire, Hellfire!🎶
Tumblr media
Together: 🎶WE SHALL CAPTURE THE STAR, AND SNUFF OUT THE LIGHT!!🎶
Tumblr media
I'm not a song writer in the slightest, but I thought it would've been a fun idea to call back a ton of Disney villains with a brand new pair!

A sketch of my take on the villain couple for my "Once Upon a Wish" AU~
I'm still working on their outfits and overall color palette but I do have a general idea of what their heads/faces are gonna look... So here they are!
Their names are Mamoon and Amaranta, the King and Queen of Alwarda.
And just like how Zahra is Asha while Noor is Star, Mamoon is Magnifico while Amaranta is Evil!Amaya (tho she does have canon Amaya's sweetness and confidence, even tho its arguable if its genuine or its for gaslighting lol).
I'd share more info about them soon! Most likely when their designs is finished :D But if you guys have any questions about them, let me know! I'd love to have a chance to yap about them hehe

MHA reimagined cont. the LOV in Dark Academic Professions. No quirks. All human forms.
Previously, Shuhei Matsuda
Next, Goto Imasuji
His work is academic, in theory. He studies the mechanics of belief under pressure, how fear can shape doctrine, how pain can rewrite conviction. His library is vast, filled with texts on medieval tribunals, forced confessions, and the legal justifications for suffering. He speaks about them fluently, like a man recounting a favorite play. Imasuji is an Inquisiton Historian. Physically, he commands space. Broad shoulders, a posture too strong to be casual, gloved hands that move with deliberate care. There’s an elegance to him, even when he’s detailing things that should make a person recoil. He doesn’t flinch at the horrors of history. He dissects them. And when you talk to him long enough, you start to notice something unsettling. The way he watches people, like he’s measuring something unspoken. The way he lets silence stretch just a little too long, like he’s waiting to see what you do with it. He has a way of making you feel like you’ve revealed something you didn’t mean to give away. Some scholars study history to remember it. Goto studies it to understand how it still works today. Because the Inquisitions never truly ended. The tools have changed, the sentences are different, but the methods? The methods still work.
And if he wanted to, he could prove it.
Goto Imasuji | Muscular 💪

I'm thinking I'm going to switch up my backstory for the evil spellbook in Wish. Orginally I wrote that it was linked to Voland, my big bad for my Frozen 3 concept, just as a little Easter Egg to my wider DisneyVerse.
But after working on my Wish 2 concept more, I feel like I can deepen its lore by having it more directly tied to the new story. Having the Lamia be behind it will give it retroactively more depth, greater tie Magnifico and the Lamia together and just help to flesh out the og movie more, which is what I've been trying to do with my Backstory for Magnifico and this sequel idea
I'm going to try and find some time to write up a full summary of what I'd have the sequal be (really shojld go back and do that for Frozen 3 as well) and tie all the concepts I've been doing art for together. So keep an eye out for that!
