• “for the love of— just one moment of seriousness. one.”
• he might be exasperated with you, but the moment you wince and your goofy smile drops, he wants nothing more than to bring it back
• every time you cry or yelp from the pain he has to close his eyes for a second, breathe through it with you. he won’t cry—he can’t, not yet
• queen never cry
• he may not cheer or shout, but the pride in his eyes says everything the moment he sees his child. he’d brush your hair out of your face, press a lingering kiss to the top of your head, and speak softly
• “that’s my girl…”
• you catch his wobbly smile before he even realizes it
• you know better than to call him out on it
• girl dad. fosholy

• “keep those shoulders loose, okay? you’re doing so well” as he gently massages your shoulders
• fast forward and the baby is finally out, you’re dazed, eyes fluttering, voices and sounds blur into white noise

• “don’t you fools have something stronger to give her? anesthesia? an IV of something potent— hell, knock her out for a bit”
• tapping on the heart monitor like it’s a fish tank
• plays with the hospital bed remote, lifting it and lowering it mid-contraction
• you’re literally writhing in pain and he’s so over it
• “didn’t realize i needed earplugs”
• gets up and stands directly in front of the doctor like a mob boss waiting for results
• “taking too damn long.” he says, looking between your legs, completely unfazed. he glances up at you. “say the word and i’ll pull the sucker out myself”
• when the baby is born, he lets out a sigh. “finally. took long enough”
• he walks over and squints at the newborn. “…why does it look like an alien.”
• sort of just watches you hold the baby with mild curiosity
• when you hand the baby to him, he holds it like a live grenade
• eventually sits down, still rigid, but quieter. after minutes of intense scrutiny, his shoulders relax a little. he leans in close to the baby and whispers. “you better grow into that head, runt” (was that affection in his tone?)

── COME HOME TO US 🧸
🧸 pairing .ᐟ dad!spencer x mom!reader
🧸 summary .ᐟ missing your partner while he's away and you're juggling motherhood.
🧸 warnings / tags .ᐟ fluff!
🧸 author's note .ᐟ this is my first fic for spencer on here! i've written some before but i just posted them on ao3 lmao. i hope yall like it!!
something every mother knows for a fact: being a new mother is an especially exhausting part of motherhood. what a lot of them don't know is that it's even more exhausting when said baby's father was an fbi agent who often didn't stay in the same state as you for longer than a week straight.
you loved spencer, but you were also tired of having to do so much all on your own. you couldn't remember the last time you showered, and you definitely couldn't remember the last time you slept for more than two hours in succession before your daughter started screeching in a way that put many an opera singer to shame; the little girl always saving it just for you, because the moment her father comes home, she acts like an angel.
you also worried that little penny wouldn't even be able to recognize her own father; the two of you facetimed whenever he was away for cases, but when you did, the infant was more focused on putting the remote control in her mouth rather than babbling to her father.
but what you missed the most was simply just having him next to you; to fall asleep and wake up curled up in his arms, to have him wrap his arms around your waist while you cooked, softly humming in your ear, and pressing kisses to the side of your head. talking late into the night, your feet on his lap as the two of you read together (at dramatically different speeds) and seeing him rock penny to sleep.
you were woken up from a nap by the sound of a key being fitted into the front door and having it be opened and closed. you smiled into the throw pillows, your eyes still closed as you listened to spencer dumping his satchel on the floor and letting out an exasperated sigh as he took his shoes.
he padded into the living room, and you turned your head to look up at him with a weary smile, the man returning it as he ran a hand through his dark curls, "did i wake you up?" he asked in a soft tone as if you were still asleep. "mmhm." you mumbled, watching as spencer made his way to the couch, sitting down at the edge and tugged a loose strand of hair behind your ear "but 's okay... just hold me?"
"sure." spencer smiled, pressing a gentle kiss at the side of your head as he started to settle onto the couch and wrapping his arms around you and pressing himself as close to you as possible, the green couch much too small for both of you, but it didn't matter. spencer's hand stroked your head gently, and closed your eyes, breathing in his scent; after coming back from a case, he just always smelled so... him. any trace of cologne was gone, only things lingering on his skin were his natural scent, his sweat, as well as coffee.
just as you were about to doze off again, though, the moment was stolen from you, a familiar whiney noise coming from the baby monitor, a sign that penny was about to start crying. you let out a sigh, but just as you were about to get up, spencer sat up instead. "get some sleep. it's my turn. i'll be right back."
"don't drop her." you said teasingly.
"i'll try not to." spencer chuckled softly, pressing a kiss to the side of your head before standing up and stretching his limbs, "this cuddle session isn't over."

The Day We Met Him
Lewis Hamilton x Wife!Reader Summary... Four girls are chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience: spending a day with Lewis Hamilton as part of a Drive to Survive fan segment. Trigger Warnings: Mild language. Emotional vulnerability. Themes of privacy, media attention, and public exposure.
A/N: This story is overwhelmingly soft, supportive, and heartwarming. I hope you guys enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. All feedback is welcomed. Have a beautiful day! Let me know if you would like another part of this story. Happy reading.
The Day We Met Him
The Netflix logo fades to black.
Then:
"Drive to Survive – Season 7, Episode 3: More Than a Champion"
The screen lights up with a shot of Silverstone Circuit, the sound of engines rumbling like thunder in the distance. But this time, instead of team radios or dramatic crash footage, it opens in a cramped London flat—four girls piled on a sofa with wide eyes and disbelief on their faces.
“Pause it. Please pause it!” Tati yells.
Mimi’s thumb fumbles over the remote. They all freeze as the frame catches their four names printed on the screen beneath the words: “Four lucky fans. One unforgettable day.”
Jules is already crying. Bella just gasps and slaps a pillow against her chest.
The camera cuts back to older footage: the moment Netflix reps arrived at their door, the pure chaos of four best friends screaming, tripping over themselves, and sobbing while a producer announced they’d been selected to spend a full day with Lewis Hamilton.
It feels like a fever dream.
Until the next scene begins.
________
The Hamilton Residence – 7:03 AM
Soft morning light pours across the floors of a sleek, airy home. Everything is warm neutrals, scattered sunlight, and signs of life—framed photos, half-filled coffee mugs, toddler socks on the stairs.
The narration begins in the background.
“Lewis Hamilton has spent the last two decades becoming one of the most iconic figures in sports history. But today, he invites us into a chapter of his life no one’s ever seen before.”
It’s quiet. Too quiet. Then you hear the faint hum of a lullaby mobile and the low murmur of a baby’s coo.
And then, he appears.
Lewis walks through the kitchen barefoot, hoodie half-zipped, rocking a baby monitor in his hand. His hair is tied in a low bun. He’s yawning. The camera catches it all: a tray of bottles near the sink, a pacifier clipped to his hoodie string, a toy giraffe under his left arm.
“Good morning, mama,” he says to someone off-screen, voice hoarse.
You step into frame, in an oversized sweatshirt and satin shorts, brushing your teeth while holding a baby bottle.
“We overslept,” you mutter with a grin.
“No such thing anymore,” he laughs. “She’s been up since five.”
The reveal is so casual it’s jarring. The camera pans across the room, catching glimpses of your baby girl crawling across a padded mat with a sleepy giggle.
It’s the first time the world sees this side of Lewis Hamilton.
The athlete. The activist. The father.
________
The car is quiet. The baby’s asleep in her car seat. Y/N hums along to a soft Frank Ocean track while Lewis drives with one hand on the wheel and the other resting between them, fingers laced with hers.
“You nervous?” you ask, turning to him.
“A little,” he admits. “Never done anything like this before.”
She squeezes his hand. “Just be yourself. That’s more than enough.”
They pull up to his mother’s house. She’s waiting at the door with open arms and a smile that crinkles at the edges. The hand-off is full of hugs, baby kisses, promises to call every hour.
“I don’t like being away from her,” Lewis murmurs.
“You’re not,” you say, slipping your hand around his waist. “She’s just with your first home, while you go do what you were born to do.”
The camera cuts to Lewis holding his daughter one last time. The kiss he presses to her curls. The way he doesn’t say goodbye—he says, “See you soon, starlight.”
________
Silverstone Circuit – 12:10 PM
The girls are pacing.
They’ve been given Ferrari team gear, all personalized, and lanyards with sleek black passes that say GUEST OF DRIVER – L. HAMILTON.
There are nerves in the air. Not just because they’re about to meet him—but because, somehow, they all already feel like this is going to be bigger than they imagined.
And then… he walks in.
Lewis. Real, magnetic, smiling in a way that softens his whole face.
Y/N walks a step behind, notebook in hand, chatting with a member of his team. She’s laughing at something. She looks so at ease in this world, like she belongs in every paddock, in every press pen, in every part of his life.
“Hi,” Lewis says, stepping forward and offering a handshake to each girl. “Thank you for being here. I’m really excited.”
It’s overwhelming. Not just because he’s Lewis Hamilton, but because of the way he sees them. Like they matter. Like this day is as much for him as it is for them.
________
They take turns racing against him on the sim. He laughs when Bella crashes into the wall. He gasps dramatically when Tati beats his sector time. He whoops when Jules nails a corner like a pro.
“You’ve all got better instincts than half the grid,” he jokes, clearly loving every second.
Y/N watches from the sidelines, beaming.
During a break, Mimi asks her, “Do you come to all his races?”
She nods. “Most of them. When the baby was really little, I stayed home more. But she loves the sound of engines now, so… here we are.”
“Did you ever think you’d end up in the Formula 1world?”
Y/N laughs softly. “I didn’t think I’d end up in love with someone who lived on planes. But when it’s right, it’s just… easy.”
________
They sit around a long table with Lewis at the center. The camera catches the way his hand rests against your knee under the table, the way you lean into him to whisper things no one else can hear.
He shares stories—funny, vulnerable ones. About his first go-kart. About getting lost on the way to a race in 2005. About the exact moment he knew Y/N was the one.
It’s not polished. It’s not scripted. It’s just real.
________
Golden hour hits Silverstone like magic.
The four girls stand near the pit wall, headsets on, as Lewis does a few laps around the track. Y/N leans against the rail beside them.
“Does it ever scare you?” Jules asks her.
She looks out toward the turns. “Sometimes. But he’s never reckless. And… he always comes back to me.”
________
Lewis returns from the garage, hair damp with sweat, suit unzipped halfway. He collapses into a chair and smiles as you press a water bottle to his chest.
“You were incredible,” you say quietly.
He tilts his head toward the girls. “They made today feel easy.”
The four of them sit down for their final interviews. Every interview of them is emotional, raw, full of passion and gratitud for the amazing opportunity they got to experience.
“I thought today would be about racing,” Bella says. “But it was about connection.”
“I didn’t expect to feel seen by him,” Jules adds. “But I did. All day.”
“I thought Lewis Hamilton would be cool,” Tati grins. “But I didn’t expect him to feel like… someone you’d want to text goodnight.”
“He’s more than a driver,” Mimi whispers. “He’s someone’s home.”
________
The Hamilton Residence – 9:03 PM
Lewis and Y/N sit on the couch later that night, baby monitor between them, baby socks on the table, your legs draped over his lap.
He kisses your hand and looks straight into the camera.
“Winning feels good,” he says. “But this—my family, our life—this is what makes everything else worth it. Now get out! We have a new season of Love on The Spectrum to watch.”
________
The Aftermath
It starts before the sun even rises.
3:41 AM
Tati’s phone buzzes. Then again. Then again.
She groans, blindly reaching for it from under her duvet. Twenty notifications. All from Twitter. All tagged with her username.
Her eyes adjust to the screen just in time to read one tweet that sets her heart racing.
“WAIT. LEWIS HAMILTON HAS A BABY? A WHOLE BABY???”
She blinks.
“That fan episode on Drive to Survive is changing LIVES.” “So we all just collectively missed that Lewis Hamilton is married and a DAD?” “That baby had hair. That baby has been around.”
Tati bolts upright. “GUYS,” she shouts, already tripping over her blanket as she runs to the living room.
4:02 AM
Bella, Jules, and Mimi are already huddled around the TV, eyes wide, hair messy, phones buzzing every second with new mentions and tags. Their group chat has blown up. TikTok edits are already circulating. Screengrabs of Lewis holding a pacifier. GIFs of Y/N laughing while feeding the baby. Fan theories. Reaction threads. F1 accounts going feral.
And the kicker?
A video clip from the episode— Y/N saying, “She’s just with your first home, while you go do what you were born to do.”
Someone captioned it:
“Y/N Hamilton is literally so cute. Lewis really won at life with her as his life partner.”
________
Hamilton Residence – Morning
Y/N stirs awake to the sound of Lewis's voice somewhere down the hall, talking softly into the phone.
“Yeah, Mum. We’re okay… Just a little overwhelmed… No, she’s still asleep.”
You blink against the sunlight and sit up slowly, the baby monitor quiet beside you. For a second, it doesn’t register. The stillness. The weight of what they’d shared with the world. Then your phone lights up.
412 unread messages.
You don’t even open Instagram. You already know it’s chaos.
By the time you wander into the kitchen, Lewis is finishing a call and cradling a mug of tea, his phone face-down beside him.
“Morning, love,” he says gently. “How you feeling?”
You shrug. “Like we just let eight billion people into our house.”
He chuckles, coming over to press a kiss to your forehead. “They liked what they saw.”
You eye him, teasing. “I think they liked what they saw on you, Hamilton. I saw someone call you ‘Daddy squared.’”
He groans and hides his face in your neck. “Make it stop.”
“You started it,” you grin, wrapping your arms around him. “You wanted the world to see who you really are.”
“I didn’t think it would hit this hard.”
The moment softens. Lewis pulls back and searches your face, serious now.
“Are you okay?” he asks. “With the baby being public? With us being out there like that?”
You pause for a long moment, then nod.
“I’m okay. A little exposed, maybe. But… I think it was time. I want people to know the version of you I get to see every day.”
He looks at you for a long beat, like he’s memorizing the way you said that.
Then he whispers, “I love you, you know that?”
You press your palm to his chest. “I know. And I love you right back.”
________
Social Media Throughout the Day
TikTok: “lewis hamilton being a girl dad for 3 minutes straight”
Instagram: A new fan account called @TeamHamiltonHome already has 20k followers by lunchtime
Twitter: “When Y/N Hamilton said ‘She’s just with your first home’ I actually ascended into another dimension.”
Even other drivers are chiming in.
Charles Leclerc posts a story: “Didn’t expect to cry at 7am over Lewis Hamilton rocking a baby.”
Max Verstappen tweets: “Welcome to the Dad Club, mate 👶🔥”
Sebastian Vettel, in rare Instagram form, posts an old photo of Lewis cradling a helmet and captions it:
“Always knew you’d be a softie off-track too.”
________
Girls’ Apartment – That Night
The four friends are still in pajamas, surrounded by takeout containers and ring lights they didn’t mean to set up but couldn’t resist. They’ve been answering Q&As on Instagram all day, doing interviews with local press, and trying to process the fact that they had front-row seats to a life-changing reveal.
“I think my favorite moment was when he said thank you for making the day easy,” Jules says, curled into a blanket. “Like we made a difference to him.”
“I still can’t believe Y/N hugged me twice,” Mimi laughs. “She smelled like coconut and cashmere and I think I blacked out.”
“I’m just glad we didn’t cry on camera,” Bella says.
“You did,” Tati corrects. “They just edited it out.”
They all laugh.
Then, silence.
Not the awkward kind. The full-heart kind.
“I don’t think anything’s ever going to top this,” Bella whispers.
“Nope,” Jules says, smiling at the ceiling. “This was the moment. Everything before it led us here.”
Mimi hums in agreement. “We met our hero. And he was everything we hoped he’d be.”
“And more,” Tati adds. “He let us into his world.”
“And now?” Bella asks.
They all look at each other.
Jules answers softly: “Now we protect it.”
________
Final shot:
A quiet moment back at Lewis and Y/N’s home. The baby asleep on his chest. Y/N asleep beside them, hand resting on his. The camera lingers.
“Some things are meant to be shared with the world,” Lewis says in a voiceover. “But the best things—the most sacred things—those are the ones you hold closest.”
Fade to black.
THE END.

Bruce has a new rule: NEVER let Arsenal and Red Hood together on a mission, if it happens, fucking get only Roy to abort the mission
I assume this is relating to one of the other asks I did. 100% agree
Red Hood and Arsenal on a mission? "Hell no!" -Batman
Not only would Hood lose his shit trying to protect Arsenal, but the two of them together are just total unstoppable chaos. They get the job done, but at what cost?
The cost is Batman's sanity, and he's slowly running out.
They have only purposely been on a mission together once before. It was an all hands on deck type situation, and Batman wishes that he had left them out anyway.
They had been tracking down Riddler for weeks now, having caught word that he was planning something huge. They were all surrounding the warehouse he was currently located in and monitoring it for any activity.
Red Hood gets bored and decides to just crash through the window and end it, and obviously Arsenal follows him. The bats are forced to follow them since their cover has been blown, and it's a nightmare fighting alongside those two.
They have like, coordinated moves and codewords and shit. They're rolling off each other's backs to get across to henchmen, ducking while the other one sends a kick over their head. How do they know it's coming? Did they even exchange any words? At some point Arsenal yells "deli chicken", running up to Hood and stepping on his hands, being thrown up into the air. How many code words do they have? What correlation does the move have to "deli chicken?" Hood at one point joins hands with Arsenal and starts swinging him around, knocking out people left and right. Nightwing is nearly caught in that mess, and decides to keep his distance.
Once Arsenal gets hurt, it's over. Hood is shooting down all these people and they're all dropping to the floor like flies. The rest of the bats barely got any punches in before it was all over. It was insanity and it will never happen again. Batman still has nightmares about it.
It does happen again. Red Hood decide he was bringing Arsenal along for a patrol without consulting Batman, so he only finds out about it when he comes across a huge explosion in a warehouse. He's running over to check out what it is, and just sees Red Hood and Arsenal recreating the Dirty Dancing final dance. There's no music playing. They're screaming the words. The warehouse is on fire and it's spreading. There's probably dead people inside. But Arsenal is spinning Hood around in the air and Hood is yelling "Nobody puts baby in a corner!" Batman does not know what to do in this situation.
So now, every time they see Arsenal even remotely close to Hood, they're pushing him away. Sending him home. One time Nightwing knocked him out and said it was an emergency. He paid the price later.
That duo scares them, and it's best for everyone involved if they just don't work at the same time.

AO3 Link
TW: lactation kink
The house is lonely without your boys, especially when your breasts are so full and achy. If only there was someone home to help you…
You settled into the house almost too quickly. You each had your own space, but the main bedroom was where you all spent most of your time. The bedroom was huge — one of the reasons John had picked this house — and the en suite bathroom could more than accommodate all five of you, if need be. But, when the boys were away, the sprawling, expansive house was… lonely.
They tried to leave you in shifts, but it wasn’t like they were logging hours at a normal job; it was war. War didn’t have a schedule. So, you padded around the house, trying to play some music or keep the television on, but it wasn’t the same. It was just you and… who?
You’d asked the doctor not to tell you the sex of your baby at your ultrasound appointment, and none of the potential fathers had been around to go with you. So, you were in the dark. You’d thought about names, and Johnny had offered a good many family names to keep you busy for a while. But, even though you had plenty to think about and plenty to do – you were still working remote on recon and data tracking – it was just an empty sort of existence.
To make matters worse, you’d hit a bit of a snare. Right at the sixteen week mark, you’d started leaking more than just a little milk. You’d woken up to a wet, messy situation, and you quickly scheduled an appointment. The doctor had taken some time to assure you all was well, but then, not even a week later, you had swollen, painful blockages and you were back in his office, waiting for more news.
“Looks like you just have tiny ducts,” he shrugged, looking at your scans. His hands were dry but chilly as he peeked under your hospital robe to examine your sore nipples, “You may need to express them. I know it may put you at risk of an early labor, but we can monitor you in the meantime. Try to only pump when absolutely necessary.”
So, you’d followed his orders. Once every few days, you pumped out the heavy, engorged globes that used to be B-cups, watching as your nipples filled jar after jar. There was no use in freezing it this early, so down the drain it went.
Now, at week twenty something, you were a walking milk nightmare. You’d never done so many loads of laundry in your life. The embarrassing thing about it though was that you liked it. Just the thought of attaching the plastic suction cup onto your breast was enough to make you slick between your legs, and the act itself was frequently pleasurable enough to send you over a climactic edge. To say that your nipples were sensitive was an understatement. But still, you tried to only do it when need be. You didn’t want to make a mistake.
When the boys came home, you filled them in on all the updates. Johnny was a little sad he’d missed the ultrasound, but it just added fuel to his fire of picking out names. He seemed even more interested in the pain-relieving, pleasure-inducing qualities of your breast pump, though. At dinner, you caught him staring down your shirt more than once when you tried to speak with him, and when you lay together on the couch, his hand was always massaging your swollen flesh, all under the guise of keeping you from getting another painful duct.
But, you knew the truth. His cock had never been so hard as when you started to leak through your top and had to go change, rushing to wash and find your nipple pads. Johnny stalked you into the large bedroom, thumb crooked in the waistband of his pants,
“You alright, bonnie? Need me to help you?”
“No, yeah. I’m okay. Just… dealing with the dairy farm over here,” you said, exasperated.
He sat down next to you on the edge of the bed, watching you pull out the tubes and machine with all of its parts and cords. His hand fell to your thigh, squeezing you gently,
“Think I could do it instead?”
“You…” You turned to face him, hands still tangled in the pump, making sure you heard him correctly, “You want to try it?”
Johnny adjusted himself in his jeans, his eyes pinned to your cleavage, unable to look away even for decorum’s sake,
“Aye, lass. More than anythin’.”
“Um, sure. I think it’s fine. It all gets thrown out anyway. I’ll get you a towel,” you moved to get up, your belly now at a round enough size to be a hindrance, but he stopped you, pulling you back down roughly.
“Hey —” You protested, but he interrupted you.
“Sit down,” his voice was gravelly and heavily accented, almost like when he was drunk, “Let me…”
“Johnny, wait,” you tried to twist away from his grip, but he was too strong, “It’ll be such a mess. They’re so full right now. Just wait for me to—”
His eyes shot up to yours, pinning you in place, his full lips set in a hungry snarl,
“I dinnae need a towel, bonnie. I’m gonna taste you, messy or not.”
He let his vow sink in, and you could feel yourself melting, literally and figuratively, at his words. You didn’t fight him as he began to kiss you, smearing his mouth all over you, doing his best to shove down your tank top, stuffing the neckline under your tits, fumbling around the back to unhook the clasp of your bra.
“Johnny,” you breathed, your voice giving away the wet rush that was flooding straight to your core, “The laundry…”
“Fuck the laundry. I need to drain you fuckin’ dry. Right now.”
Your whole body responded to that comment. Your skin flushed hot and your sore nipples hardened, eager to experience the way his mouth would feel as he drank from you. You weren’t even sure if he’d know how to draw out your milk.
All of your concerns were cast aside as he settled you in his lap, pulling off your clothes like a much-desired present, tossing your clothes aside like wrapping paper to get to the good part. He fumbled with his jeans, freeing his thick, curved cock from his pants, pumping it roughly to spread his precome over the heavy head.
You helped him, angling your body over his dick and lowering yourself down onto him, as carefully as you could, spearing your pussy with his rod, inch by trembling inch, listening to him try to catch his breath. Once you reached the middle, at the deepest part of his curve, you struggled to fit him the rest of the way in, grinding forward and back, looking for that sweet spot.
Then, impatient and hungry, he finished the job, pulling you down by your hips and forcing himself the rest of the way. It made you cry out from the shock of it. It wasn’t necessarily painful, but his roughness was a stark change from how he had been treating you. When he knew about the baby, he spent a lot of time preparing you, using his mouth to lap at your pussy and prying you apart with his fingers. Always gentle and mindful of your comfort. But, not now. Now, he had his sights set on devouring you in the literal sense of the word.
“Johnny…” You gasped, rocking against his shape tentatively.
“C’mere, lass,” he whispered hoarsely, his voice sharp and commanding.
His eyes were fixated on your dark, round nipples, and as you rode him, grinding yourself down onto his lap, he latched onto your left breast, taking the meat of your peak all the way into his mouth. Then, he began to suck.
You thought it would be gentle and sensual, expecting it to be largely for his pleasure and not effective enough to get the thick, creamy milk out of your poor swollen ducts, but you were wrong. Johnny began to suck and swallow, suck and swallow, suck and swallow; a terrifying, rhythmic feeding, drinking from you like his life depended on it. You peered down at him as he delivered this unknown pleasure to you.
Johnny’s eyes were fluttering closed, the whites of them rolling back into his head, and he began to let out these long, deep, guttural moans. You could feel the relief in your breast the moment he began, and with each suck, you could tell that his mouth was filling with squirt after squirt of warm, sweet milk.
Your hips humped against him involuntarily at this point, too horny to think straight, and you realized that your right nipple had begun to let down, full as it was. You tried to catch it from dripping onto him, swiping away the white rivulets with your palm, but he caught you, realizing you were trying to take what was his.
He moved his mouth from your left nipple to your right, letting his score drip down his chin and neck, caring nothing for the mess. Then, he latched onto your right nipple just as he had the left, sucking and swallowing until his cock throbbed inside of you.
You cradled his head as he drank from you, using his neck and shoulders to keep you steady as you rode him, feeling him suckle against you over and over, your hot milk filling his belly.
“Havin’ fun without us, Johnny?” Price’s voice rumbled from the doorway, startling you. You tried to turn around, but Johnny had you in a vice grip, and all you could do was ride and whimper from his fucking and his feeding.
“John…” You moaned, and he stepped around to sit next to his sergeant on the bed, smiling at the two of you, admiring the mess you were making.
“Can I try, love?” Price asked, leaning forward to drink from you without waiting for your permission.
All you could do was moan, high and helpless, your pussy so wet that it was practically gushing over Johnny’s thick cock. As soon as you felt John’s mouth on you, suckling from you just as intently as Soap’s, you started to come. You felt yourself clenching around your hungry lover, flooding him with your orgasm, wrecked by their insistent mouths.
“Tha’s it, bonnie,” Johnny pulled away, white streams of cream falling from his lips, looking like he was drunk, “Come for me.”
Price was greedier than Soap, even though you weren’t sure how that could be possible, and he used his strong hand to knead and squeeze your tits, forcing your body to drop even more milk for him to drink. His mustache tickled your sensitive flesh, and you couldn’t see it but you could hear the twisting, slapping wetness of him jerking his fat cock as he drank from you.
“Fuck, she tastes so good, hm?” Prince crooned.
“Hngh, Johnny… I can’t…” You whined, feeling yourself start to become overstimulated, “I can’t…”
“You can, lass. And you fuckin’ will,” Johnny grabbed your face in his hand, squishing your cheeks, forcing you to kiss him. You could taste your own milk on his tongue. It was warm and a little sugary, like the dregs of a bowl of cereal, thick and creamy.
He released your jaw and went back to work, suckling from you with a relentless vacuum, making your head spin. You didn’t know how you were able to make so much milk, but it seemed endless. You were hypnotized by the way his throat bulged as he swallowed gulp after gulp of your body’s gift, sucking you down.
Price seemed just as hungry, and you saw how, from the corners of his mouth, tiny droplets of milk would escape and wet his beard, the white cream staining his dark hair. He teased you with his hand, leaving his cock to fend for itself as he smeared his precome all over your asshole. Then, as you rode Soap back and forth, thrusting against him with abandon, John put his finger against your puckered hole and let you push yourself onto it. As you canted your hips back, your hole would let your captain’s huge fingertip slide inside it. As you thrust forward, you would pull away, losing the feeling of fullness that he was giving you.
It was agony. You wanted him to fuck you on his hand, or to take you with his cock — as painful as it may be without prep — anything to make you feel filled up. But he didn’t; he kept his finger right where he wanted it, letting you fuck yourself with just the tip until you felt stinging tears in the corners of your eyes.
“Please, John… please…” You barely had any words left, but he knew what you wanted.
He met your eyes with his own as he took a particularly long suck from your sore breast, making you watch as he coaxed your nectar into his mouth. Then, he pulled away with a swift pop, licking across your swollen nipple to soothe the pain he had caused. He smiled at you, patronizingly, teasing you still with his finger,
“Does our girl need me to fuck her tight little arse?”
You nodded, barely able to keep your eyes open, overwhelmed by the pleasure,
“Yes, please… I need it. Need to come again. Please…”
“Fuck, bonnie. If you come again, you’ll take me with you,” Soap murmured, unwilling to take his mouth away from your tits too far, talking with his mouth half-full.
Price bent his head, returning to his rough suckling, filling his cheeks with more of your milk. But, this time, as you thrust yourself against Johnny, you felt two, curled fingers shove themselves deep inside of your asshole. Your whole body convulsed, your pussy clenching and gushing with wetness, twisting its muscles around Soap’s dick, trying to get him to fill you with his load. Your legs shuddered, unable to keep from shaking as you rode him, feeling numb as the tantalizing sensation of your stretched holes washed over you.
John fucked you without mercy, pulling his fingers all the way out and stuffing them all the way back into your ass everytime you thrust forward and back. You were screaming, and your poor, well-used cunt was pumping itself against Soap’s rod, making heinous slick noises as you rode him. Beyond any sort of politeness or gentility, your men were noisy in their feasting as well, slurping and sucking loudly, grunting every time you clenched yourself around them.
When Price added a third finger, you came again, your pussy quickly running out of room to accommodate them both. Soap’s hot seed burst inside of you just as he’d promised, burning your core and painting your walls with his come.
“Oh, fuck! Johnny, fill me up. Fill me…” You slurred, letting your head hang back limply, basking in the feeling of his orgasm.
Price took the opportunity to haul you off of Johnny’s lap and onto his own, replacing the emptiness in your pussy with his fat cock, sliding through his sergeant’s come and keeping his fingers in your ass as you rode him.
Even though he was spent, Johnny didn’t let up on his feeding. He’d ripped a page out of Price’s playbook and was massaging your breast with both hands, squeezing out every last drop from your body. When he finally stopped suckling from your bruised nipple, he licked you, over and over, running the warm flat of his tongue across your nipple to swipe up any stray drops, chasing your peaks as you bounced on your captain’s dick.
Price squeezed your tits in his hands, letting the one that was still full squirt all over his mouth and nose, covering himself in your cream. When he noticed Soap’s desperation, he switched positions. The sergeant fell onto his back, resting against the mattress, and the captain threw you on all fours, letting your tits dangle over Johnny’s open mouth. Then, he climbed up behind you, feeding himself back into your pussy.
As Price fucked himself into you, your breasts swayed back and forth, your nipples rubbing across Soap’s mouth as he moved from one to the other. You felt him latch onto the left one, drinking from you in thirsty slurping gulps, his puckered lips pressing onto your flesh with as much suction as he could muster. Meanwhile, your stretched cunt was being stuffed with Price’s shaft, his head invading your deepest parts, filling up your hole over and over and over.
Finally, when you were out of milk and practically sobbing from the brain-breaking orgasms you’d been given, he pulled out, flipping you onto your back and laying you right beside Soap, aiming his load at your bruised tits. His teeth were clenched as he grunted out his climax, painting long, white ropes of come all over your nipples.
You looked down, unable to tell what was his and what was yours, your breasts messy and covered in cream of all kinds. John’s hands came down and rubbed his spend all over your nipples, smearing it around them like a salve. Johnny leaned over you, licking up Price’s come just as greedily as he had your milk, latching and suckling from you over and over, even if you were empty, like a greedy puppy.
Exhausted, and with a belly full of breast milk, Price crashed to the mattress beside you and Soap.
Standing in the doorway, Gaz and Ghost looked down at you with smug, satisfied expressions, and Garrick chuckled,
“Better recover quick, babes. Got me workin’ up an appetite.”

Like A Prayer (Part 2)

Previous Chapter//Next Chapter
Wolverining is Hard
When you come to, your arms are tightly secured behind your back. Sitting up you try to take in your surroundings as you wiggle around trying to free yourself. The room you’re in is dark with a metal table and a singular chair in the middle and smelled strongly of disinfectant.
Just as you felt like you were making progress with your restraints, really you had just dislocated your hand, a door opens up on your right flooding your vision with a blinding light.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” Came an accented voice, it sounded British. Just as your eyes had started to adjust to the light you were harshly hoisted up to your feet and dragged away into another room before being dumped unceremoniously at the feet of a pair of red and black boots
“Pookie you’re alive!” said Wade dressed in a new and improved Deadpool suit. Where did he get that? You thought to yourself. “I thought these TVA fucks ate you or something!
Helping you to your feet Wade pats you on top of the head before gesturing between your restrained hands and a guy holding what looked like a giant remote in his hands.
Rolling his eyes the guy snaps his fingers and you’re manhandled again as your restraints are roughly yanked off.
Taking in your surroundings you notice you’re in what looks to be an office with office workers and a floating platform above it. On the platform, where you all were standing, are a bunch of monitors all showing different scenes of you and your friends.
“Where are we Wade? What is this place?” You asked confused as you rubbed at your sore wrists, getting closer to him.
“You, baby girl, have just been upgraded to first disciple! Congratulations!” He said jokingly, just as he was about to say something else he was interrupted by an accented voice, the same one you had heard before.
“As you can see Mr. Wilson your friend is alive and well mostly well.” Said the man from behind Wade with the British accent, he eerily reminded you of Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. Frowning, the man watched you with a disgusted expression as you flicked your hand popping your wrist back into place as you sucked in a breath in pain. You had definitely dislocated it earlier.
“Now as much as I hate to cut the reunion short it’s time for her to go back home.” He said snapping his fingers again, suddenly you're surrounded by men in body armor again, one reaches out quickly to grab you but you stumble back into Wade who pushes you behind him.
“Wait wait wait….you’re just gonna send her home? To die?” He turns to ask the man behind him. He could feel you pressed against his back, like you were trying to get under his skin. You were scared and he couldn’t blame you, you still had no idea what was going on.
“Die? What are you talking about?” You asked looking back and forth between the man and Wade until a gloved finger fell on your lips silencing you.
“Shush child Marvel Jesus is talking.”
“What the fuck?” You whispered, pushing his hand away.
“You can’t send her back Paradox.”
“Oh I can and I will.” The man, Paradox, had said as one of his armed men came up to him handing him one of those electric baton stick things you had seen earlier. You immediately tensed up, as he started to approach you with it, not knowing what it would do to you on contact.
“No wait wait wait please just hang on a fucking second!” Wade shouted, it was one of rare times he got serious and it made your hair stand on end
“What now Mr. Wilson?” Mr. Paradox asked, groaning dramatically, as if all of this was just a giant waste of his time
“W-what can I do to fix it? The timeline?”
Timeline? What the fuck was happening? You thought confused as you looked back at Wade again as he stared down Mr. Paradox
“Nothing unless you can bring Wolverine back to life in the next,” he says nonchalantly as if it were the most obvious thing in the world as he checks his watch “96 hours. But that’s impossible to-“
That little bit of information was enough to get the cogs in Wade’s brain turning as he hatched a play.
“Say less, I’m on it like a car bonnet!” Wade said cheerfully, you had no idea what the fuck that many but whatever it was Wade had set his mind too it and once his mind was set nothing was going to get in his way.
“Mr. Wilson-“ Mr. Paradox had started to say but before he could get another word out, Wade lunges forward and headbutts him full force, breaking his nose on contact, knocking him out as he snatched up the strange remote device Paradox had had in his hands.
Before you could even blink, Wade grabs you, scooping you up into his side, right under his armpit, as he opens up another one of those orange portal doors and jumps right through it with you.
The other side of the portal opens up midair and you crash land in the middle of a frozen forest. The ground and trees around you, covered in a powdery dusting of snow as a harsh wind blows over you causing you to shiver slightly, as you go to sit up you find yourself unable to move as a sharp pain shoots up your right arm.
It took a few moments to realize Wade had landed with you, more like on top of you it seemed, until you heard him groan from your back.
“I gotta get better at opening those things.” He groans, getting up.
“Sorry sugar lumps, we didn't really stick the landing there.” He said stretching his sore limbs as he gestured to your arm. It was bent at an awkward angle behind you, most definitely broken. Standing to your feet you grab at the injured appendage, popping it back into place with a loud snap and a yelp before it has a chance to heal wrong
“Ok Wade I’ve had enough of this Leon and Helena bullshit-“ you panted out still reeling from the pain of your arm.
“Ha! Resident Evil 6 humor!”
“Enough! Please just tell me what’s going on?!” You finally snap as you pull your cardigan around yourself in an attempt to block out the cold. Wade looks you over as if contemplating what to say next before he groans, running a gloved hand over his mask.
“Ah shit where do I even start?” He says as he sits down on a pile of rocks that had a makeshift stick x on top that looks suspiciously like a grave, you chose not to comment on it, as he begins to explain what had transpired over the last hour.
Apparently he was Marvel Jesus, you still didn’t get that part, and your timeline was dying. How? You weren’t entirely sure but Wade kept mumbling under his breath about some “Aussie fuck stealing his thunder from down under”, and that Mr. Paradox guy, who’s in charge of those TVA bastards that kidnapped you and Wade, was in charge of overseeing it but instead of letting it die out naturally over the next hundred years or so was going to speed up the process and now Wade only had 96 hours to fix it before everyone you knew and loved died.
“Which is why we’re here!” He said cheerfully pulling two shovels out of nowhere. Looking behind him to see where the shovels had intact come from you missed as he took a sip from his newly acquired ‘I Like Me’ mug through his mask before tossing it. “Grab your shovel jelly bean, we're hunting a Wolverine!” He said tossing the second shovel at your feet as he pulls the makeshift x grave marker from the pile of stones and starts to dig.
As soon as he said that you felt your stomach drop to your ass. That was a grave behind him, and it wasn’t just anyone’s… it was the Wolverine’s. You were digging up Wolverine to save your timeline?
“Holy shit.”
To say you idolized the guy was an understatement. When you were a kid you had all kinds of Wolverine comics and stickers, hell you still had a pair of Wolverine underwear to this day. Digging up his grave after all this time, after all that he went through in life just felt…wrong.
“You can cream your spinach later, right now we need to see if widdle Wolvie is really taking a dirt nap or not.” Chunks of dirt flew through the air as Wade kept digging, completely absorbed in his task.
“Wade this is-“ Not right you wanted to say. You start feeling your anxiety bubble up in your chest. “I can’t-!”
The sound of his shovel hitting something metal, adamantium, stopped you in your place. Tapping his shovel twice more to make sure he had actually hit something and that it wasn’t just his imagination, Wade looked over to you before turning back to what he had found, wiping away the dirt, he stared down at the now exposed decaying metallic skull of the Wolverine.
Your breath caught in your throat as you watched Wade stare at the corpse for a moment, lost in thought, before he raised his shovel over his head and bought it down on Wolverine’s skull over and over again, not stopping until he got even frustrated and snapped the wooden handle over his knee, no doubt breaking it in the process.
“Damn it! Son of a bitch! Fuck! Motherfucker! My world is fucked!”
He screamed, throwing the pieces of the shovel and swinging his arms as he punched at the air. It had been a long time since you had seen him this serious, albeit the last time you were quite literally dying, and it was honestly terrifying.
Your stomach sank even further at his words. Hugging your arms to yourself in an attempt to make yourself smaller you slowly approached Wade just as he was pulling the adamantium skeleton fully from the grave, dragging it over to a downed tree as he propped it up to sit cross legged by him.
“That was weird. I’m much calmer now.” He says with a chuckle, you’re not sure if he’s talking to you or the corpse. “Look, I’m not a man of science, but you seem incredibly passed away. But it’s good to see ya.” he pats the corpse on the knee causing you to wrinkle your nose up in disgust as bile rises in your throat. You’d seen Wade do a lot of strange shit over the years of knowing him, but exhuming a grave of a fallen hero and having a one on one with his dead body was a whole new world for you.
“I gotta be honest, I’ve always wanted to ride with you, Logan. You and me, getting into everything. Just fucking shit up. Can you imagine the fun, the chaos, the residuals?”
You didn’t even want to know what he meant by that as you crept up next to Wade, kneeling down by his side.
“G’day, mate? There’s nothing that’ll bring me back to life faster than a big bag of metal cash.” Wade placed a finger under the corpse’s chin making its mandible move up and down as if he was talking to him, you put your arm on his to get him to stop but he just kept going as he moved to hold his masked head in his hands.
“No, no, no, no, uuuugh!” He groans dramatically as he throws his head back, thumping it on the tree trunk behind him. “He had to get all noble and die for real. God damn it! We coulda really used your help right about now Hugh.”
“Wade,” you said softly as you reached out to rest a hand on his shoulder, “we’ll figure something out, there’s got to be another way right?”
Wade’s masked face turns to look at you, deep in thought, before the sound of multiple approaching footsteps pulls him out of his head. Pulling you until you were tucked between him and the tree truck, he peeks over the tree before ducking back down just as fast, cursing under his breath.
“Wade Winston Wilson! You’re under arrest by the Time Variance Authority for too many crimes to count, come out!” Came a booming voice over the chill of the air. You and Wade look at each other for a moment as if deciding what to do.
“This is your last chance! Throw out your weapons and come out peacefully!” The voice said again as he and a bunch of other TVA agents began to surround you.
You look Wade in his eyes again and nod, knowing he’s going to have to fight to get you both out of there. Looking around himself for anything you could use to defend yourself, his eyes land on the adamantium skeleton sitting nearby and he gets a horribly morbid idea.
“I’m not gonna give you my weapons! But I promise not to use them.” He shouts back as he turns back towards you, placing a hand on your head. “Ok Nugget you know the drill.” He says so that only you can hear.
“You go right, I go left.” You nod your head towards the tree line in the background on your left.
“Good girl.” He pats you on the head one last time, tucking baby knife into your hand. “Maximum effort.” He grunted as you both stood, jumping into action. You break to the left as fast as your feet can carry you just as Wade jumps over the tree trunk pulling Wolverine's body with him.
Hearing rapid footfalls following close behind you try to pick up the pace, your lungs burning as you run, just as you reach the woods a gloved hand reaches out tangling itself in your locs before yanking you backwards. You hit the snow covered ground with an audible thud. Your head ringing and vision blurred from the impact. Just as your eyes were starting to clear, that rapid thumping noise from before came back with a vengeance.
Shaking your head to clear it you try and get back up to your feet until a black boot, steps down on your shoulder harshly. Above you stood a TVA agent, his stick pointed right at you as he glared down at you. Just as he began to lower it, you pulled baby knife from your boot, stabbing it as hard as you could through his foot.
He screams in pain as he stumbles backwards falling on his ass as he goes to pull out the knife. Scrambling back up you yank the knife from his foot before embedding it in his exposed neck. Pulling the knife back out again the fall back on your ass in shock at what you just did. You killed someone and hadn’t even hesitated. Sure you had see your fair share of people dying, thanks mostly to Wade, but never had you actually been the one doing the killing.
Before you have a chance to wallow anymore to yourself, you hear a body thud next to you and jump.
“My bad!” Wade calls as he smacks a TVA agent across the face with something that looked suspiciously like a metal femur, shattering his helmet and mostly his face on impact. “Wolverining is hard!”
“Wolverine was a hero and the only thing worth a shit to ever come out of Canada!” Shouted a voice from in front of you two, it was the same guy from before, the one who you tackled through the portal earlier, and he looked pissed. Before he had a chance to say anything else a katana goes bouncing off the ground and right through the guy’s mouth.
“Get my country’s name out of your fucking mouth.” Wade said as he walked up to the still standing body, pulling his sword out of his mouth. “And my sword, gimme that.”
Cleaning off the blade with his sleeve, Wade looks you over, checking you for injuries, something he couldn’t break himself from doing, no matter how much you told him you could heal, before pulling you to your feet.
“We gotta find us another Logan, an alive one.” He said looking around himself assessing the overall damage.
“How?” You question still trying to quiet the pounding in your head, it was starting to fade out now, only being a low murmur at the point, but it still made it hard to focus.
Pulling something from his belt, Wade holds up the remote looking device he had stolen from Mr. Paradox earlier between wiggling fingers.
“This my dear bestest pal is how.” He said opening it up and hitting a few buttons. Another orange portal opens and you stare at it in contemplation, nervousness grips your stomach as you think about what the two of you would get into on the other side of the portal. Wade goes through first holding out a hand for you from the other side. Swallowing down rising anxiety, you take up his hand following him through.
On the other side of the portal the atmosphere is much warmer, you're both in a club, a nice one at that, surrounded by other people as they mingle and converse by the bar.
“Logan I’m gonna need you to come with us!” Wade spoke over the music. Looking around the room, you wonder which of these people he was talking to, none of them really looked like a Wolverine to you.
“Who’s asking?” came a familiar voice from the bar. Turning to look to see who it was that said that, you were shocked to see a guy, about your height, with a crazy hairy torso, wearing a tight fitted black v-neck.
His face definitely screamed Wolverine to you but there was something about this man that just struck you as off.
“Look at this little Mary Lou Retton. Did you stick the landing little guy? Yes, you did, comic-accurate short king.” Wade cooed to him from your side in a baby voice as he crouched down dramatically.
You frowned up as Wade as he mocked him, definitely planning to ream him out later when you, yourself, was the same height as the man he was making fun of. This Wolverine stares at you, recognition and another emotion in his eyes, that you weren’t sure of as his nostrils flared and they took in yours and Wade’s, no doubt horrific, scents. Just as you were about to tell Wade that this Wolverine would work, another orange portal opens up behind you and he dragging you inside with him.
“Cue the fucking montage, baby.”

First time dad X Will Poulter (Requested)
MasterList
Will Poulter Masterlist
The baby monitor crackled softly beside me on the kitchen counter, a familiar low hum that had become part of the soundtrack of my days. Our son, Alfie, was napping upstairs his chubby arms always thrown dramatically above his head, the way newborns do when they’re deep in their baby dreams. I smiled, stirring my tea slowly, letting the warmth from the mug seep into my hands.
The telly in the corner of the kitchen was muted, but I recognised the set straight away.
“Good Morning Britain,” I murmured with a grin. “There he is.”
Will’s interview had just started. He looked relaxed, sat on the couch opposite the host in a soft jumper I’d bought him last Christmas, sleeves pushed up to his elbows. His hair was still slightly mussed, like he’d run his hands through it on the car ride there, and his smile God, that smile was wide and genuine.
I reached for the remote and turned the volume up.
“Joining us today is actor Will Poulter,” the host began brightly, “here to talk about his latest film, but also more importantly about fatherhood! Congratulations are in order.”
Will laughed, head ducking a little, the way he always did when he was being complimented. “Thank you very much. Yeah, it’s been... surreal, honestly. Best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
The host leaned in with a knowing smile. “You’re a first-time dad?”
He nodded. “Yeah, our little boy was born just over four months ago now. His name’s Alfie.”
Alfie. Every time I heard his name said out loud, especially by Will, something inside me melted.
“What’s it been like?” the host asked. “Sleep deprivation? Chaos? Nappy explosions?”
Will laughed again, that easy, heart-melting laugh that made me fall in love with him in the first place. “All of the above, yeah. I mean, the lack of sleep is real. People warned me and I thought, ‘How bad can it be?’ It’s bad.”
The audience chuckled. I did too, alone in our kitchen, picturing the two of us pacing up and down the hallway at three in the morning, rocking Alfie like our lives depended on it.
“But,” Will continued, his tone softening, “he’s got this smile. It’s like... I don’t even know how to explain it. You’re dead tired, your shirt’s covered in spit-up, and then he looks at you like you’re the best thing he’s ever seen. And suddenly, you’d do it all again in a heartbeat.”
My throat tightened.
“Sounds like you’re smitten,” the host teased gently.
“Smitten doesn’t even cover it,” Will replied, shaking his head. “I look at him and just think, how is he real? He’s got these massive eyes and this little pout”
“Sounds like someone we know,” the host interjected, gesturing to Will with a laugh.
Will grinned. “Yeah, poor lad’s probably doomed to have my eyebrows, though.”
That made the whole room laugh, and I laughed too, watching him joke so effortlessly. But it was the next part that made me go completely still.
“And your partner?” the host asked. “What’s she like as a mum?”
Will’s face changed immediately like someone had just opened a window to the softest part of his heart. His eyes warmed, his shoulders dropped a little. He looked... proud.
“She’s incredible,” he said, voice quiet but certain. “Honestly, I don’t even know how to put it into words. I watched her go through pregnancy, go through labour, and now every day she just blows me away.”
I felt my chest ache, in the best way.
“She’s got this way of calming Alfie down that I still haven’t mastered. Like magic. He’ll be losing it, screaming the house down, and the second she picks him up silence. And she sings to him, all the time. Even when she doesn’t realise she’s doing it. Just walking around the kitchen or folding clothes, humming away. And he loves it.”
I blinked, a little misty-eyed now, tea long forgotten.
“And she’s so patient,” Will continued, “which I really admire because I think I can panic sometimes. I’m like, ‘Is this rash normal?’ or ‘Is he supposed to make that noise?’ and she just takes it all in stride. She keeps us grounded.”
The host smiled warmly. “Sounds like you’re very in love.”
Will didn’t hesitate. “More than ever. Watching her become a mum... I didn’t think it was possible to love someone more than I already did, but I do. I really, really do.”
I swallowed hard, one hand pressed over my heart.
He was still talking.
“We’ve been together a while now, but this this part of our life it feels different. Deeper. Like we’ve levelled up, if that makes sense? We’re still us, still laughing about stupid things and arguing over whose turn it is to do the night feed, but... it’s more. It’s everything.”
Alfie stirred through the monitor, letting out a soft coo. I reached over and turned the volume down just a little, not wanting to wake him fully yet.
“And what’s the funniest thing Alfie’s done so far?” the host asked, pulling things back to a lighter note.
Will laughed, eyes crinkling. “God, there’s so many. But last week I was trying to change him, right? Just a normal nappy change. And he looked me dead in the eye... like dead in the eye and peed all over me. I swear he planned it. No remorse. Just this tiny smirk on his face like he’d won.”
The audience roared with laughter.
“Didn’t even flinch,” Will added, shaking his head. “Little menace.”
“Sounds like he takes after his dad,” the host quipped.
Will smirked. “That’s what she says, yeah.”
The interview wrapped up not long after that, Will giving a few more anecdotes and talking briefly about his new film. But it was the fatherhood stuff that stole the show. That stole my heart all over again.
When the credits rolled, I switched the telly off and just sat there, quiet for a moment, hand still resting on the warm mug.
I heard the front door click open not long after.
“Helloooo?” Will’s voice called gently, knowing Alfie might still be sleeping.
“In the kitchen,” I replied, smiling to myself.
He appeared in the doorway, cheeks slightly pink from the cold, scarf half falling off his shoulder. “You watched it?”
“I did,” I said, standing to meet him. “You made me cry, you sap.”
He chuckled, pulling me into a hug. “Sorry. Got carried away. You just make it easy to talk about you.”
I buried my face in his chest, inhaling his familiar smell something like cedarwood and home. “You were brilliant.”
He kissed the top of my head. “And you’re brilliant. The most brilliant.”
We stood like that for a while, in our quiet little bubble, until a familiar squawk came through the monitor.
Will pulled back, grinning. “Speak of the devil.”
We padded upstairs together, side by side. Alfie was awake and stretching like a starfish, tiny fists curling and uncurling, his little babygrow all rumpled. The second he saw Will, his face lit up.
“There’s that smirk,” I said, leaning on the cot.
“He’s definitely planning something,” Will whispered.
Alfie let out a gurgle and reached for him, and Will lifted him up with the same awe and care he always did like he couldn’t quite believe this tiny human was ours.
“You’re a menace,” Will said fondly, kissing his head. “But you’re our menace.”
Watching them my boys I felt it again. That quiet, unshakable love. The kind that doesn’t shout but stays. The kind that grows.
Will looked at me over Alfie’s fluffy head. “You know I meant it, right? All of it.”
“I know,” I said softly. “I feel the same.”
He smiled, full and unguarded. “Good. Because I plan on reminding you of it every day.”
Time Jump
“Ladies and gents, he’s a phenomenal actor, a proper sweetheart, and somehow managing to be a dad to three little mischief-makers give it up for Will Poulter!”
The crowd whooped, Alan Carr grinning ear-to-ear as Will came striding onto the set, already laughing. He looked good tanned from some recent sun, hair slightly longer, and that same relaxed, loveable energy he always had. He shook Alan’s hand, gave him a quick hug, and plopped down onto the couch with a sigh like he’d just run a marathon.
Alan didn’t waste any time. “Will, darling, I have to ask how are you not knackered?! Three kids! THREE! You look well!”
Will barked a laugh, rubbing his face. “Mate, it’s all smoke and mirrors. I haven’t slept in a decade. The minute they’re all asleep, me and Y/N just sit in silence, glass of wine in hand, staring into the void.”
The audience laughed.
“Tell us their names again!” Alan leaned forward eagerly. “We’re all invested now, you’ve created a whole Poulter fan club.”
Will beamed proudly. “Right, so there’s Alfie he’s ten now, can you believe it then Mia who’s seven going on seventeen, and Thom, our five-year-old who’s... terrifying.”
Laughter.
“Terrifying? Why?”
“He’s got this look, Alan. You tell him no and he just stares at you like he’s working out your biggest weakness. I swear he’s got villain potential.”
Alan burst out laughing. “You’ve birthed a Bond villain!”
“Exactly. Y/N says we need to keep an eye on him she reckons if we ever go missing, it'll be Thom’s idea.”
“And what are they like together?” Alan asked, absolutely delighted.
Will sighed dramatically. “Honestly? Little gremlins. They’ve formed some sort of prank alliance. Like a sibling prank union. They plotted to switch the sugar and salt containers the other week, and I poured salt into my tea. I nearly cried.”
The audience wheezed. Alan was crying already.
“And Y/N?” Alan added with a knowing smile. “She’s still the queen of the house, right?”
Will placed a hand on his heart. “Always. They fear her more than me. I shout and they giggle. She raises an eyebrow and suddenly it's ‘sorry mummy!’” He mimicked the kids' voices, which had the crowd in stitches.
Alan fanned himself. “God, I love your family. Now I heard a little rumour. That you took the whole gang to Sydney recently while filming. What were you thinking?”
Will groaned playfully. “I ask myself that every day.”
“Go on, spill it. What happened?”
Will grinned, already laughing before he could speak.
“So, right, I was filming a mini-series over in Sydney earlier this year. The shoot was about three months, so I didn’t want to be away from them that long. We figured, let’s just bring the whole circus with us. It’ll be lovely! Beach! Koalas! Family time!”
Alan raised his brows. “Oh no…”
“Yeah. It was not peaceful. I was trying to shoot this really intense emotional scene, like crying in the rain very Oscar worthy and I look off camera and see Mia and Thom in full costume. They’d broken into the wardrobe trailer, somehow talked the costume designer into letting them put on wigs and 1800s gear, and they’re reenacting the scene behind the camera.”
The audience erupted.
Alan was in bits. “What?!”
“I kid you not,” Will said, trying to hold it together. “Thom’s got this tiny top hat on, and Mia is fake crying and yelling ‘You must come back from war, my love!’ at the top of her lungs while the boom mic operator is wheezing and the director’s just gone, ‘...Let it play out.’”
Alan was folded over in laughter.
“The whole crew was dying,” Will continued. “I was this close to breaking character, but I’m also like ‘please, please don’t fire me.’”
“Did they fire you?”
“No, bless them. The director came up afterwards and said, ‘I’ve never seen a better performance... from your daughter.’”
The crowd howled. Alan had tears in his eyes.
“I don’t know if I’m raising future actors or future criminals,” Will said, laughing. “Alfie, to be fair, was the voice of reason that day. He was filming the whole thing on his iPad like David Attenborough.”
Alan was wiping his eyes now. “So you’ve got a prank queen, a chaos demon, and a documentarian.”
Will nodded solemnly. “I fear for the future, Alan.”
“And how’s Y/N handling all this?”
Will’s face softened immediately, like it always did when he talked about you. “She’s brilliant. Honestly, she’s the glue. I came back from set one day, completely knackered, and she’d somehow managed to keep them alive, get dinner on the table, and convince Mia that glitter isn’t an essential part of the laundry cycle.”
Alan laughed. “God bless her.”
“She deserves a holiday. Alone. For like, a year.”
Alan gave a mock gasp. “What about you?!”
“I’ll survive. Probably.”
Will chuckled, shaking his head fondly.
“But truly,” he added more sincerely, “she’s amazing. I mean, I love acting, but nothing compares to coming home to that chaos. That’s the real stuff. Getting tackled the moment I walk through the door, or Alfie telling me my hair’s weird, or Mia asking deep philosophical questions about space while Thom tries to climb the fridge what’s better than that?”
“A glass of wine?” Alan suggested, raising an eyebrow.
Will grinned. “Exactly. And a locked bathroom door.”
The crowd cheered again, and Alan patted his knee. “Well, we love a wholesome, chaotic, brilliant dad moment. And you, Will Poulter, are doing it brilliantly. Give it up, everyone!”
The audience roared with applause as Will waved sheepishly, cheeks pink from all the laughing, still visibly glowing from talking about his family.
Back home, you were watching from the sofa, Mia curled into your side, Alfie half-asleep on your shoulder, and Thom doing somersaults on the carpet. You couldn’t stop smiling.
“Daddy’s so silly,” Mia whispered with a giggle.
You brushed her hair back and kissed the top of her head. “He really is.”
And you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Can we get Reader’s first Mother’s Day after Eliza is born? I’m imagining Eliza in a little “I 🩷 Mommy” onesie.
Also manifesting a heartfelt moment between Reader & Ryan ok byeeeee ✌🏻
Eliza in onesie? Check. Heartfelt moment with Ryan? Check. Cheesiness? Check.
Words: 6.4k
[As You Wish masterlist]
A low whining starts off slow but grows in both volume and intensity. The moment it registers in Eddie’s sleeping brain, he blinks his eyes open and is quick to grab the baby monitor and turn the sound down so it doesn’t wake you. Gently, he sets the monitor back down on his nightstand and rolls to look over his shoulder, checking to see if you’re still asleep.
A sleepy smile grows on Eddie’s face as he watches you, still out like a light, lips parted, and curled up with the comforter tucked up over your shoulder. If he didn’t have to get up to get your daughter, your husband would burrow under the blankets and cuddle up against you for the rest of the morning. But today is all about you and that starts with Eddie getting up bright and early so you don’t have to.
The moment the door to Eliza’s nursery cracks open, her whines go from half-hearted to insistent. She knows someone is there and she is going to make damn sure they hear her and come get her.
“Hey, there’s my little sunshine,” Eddie says as he steps into the nursery.
Eliza watches him with her wide brown eyes as he goes over to her pink curtains, parting them to let some light filter into the room. The sun isn’t even fully out yet, but the brightening gray sky provides enough of a shine to see by.
“How’d you sleep, hmm?” Eddie asks as he picks the seven-month-old up out of her crib.
Her chubby little fingers instantly grab at the shoulder of Eddie’s faded Hellfire shirt. She sighs contently when her dad presses a few kisses into the wispy baby hairs at her temple.
“You hungry?”
The rest of the house is silent as the two make their way to the kitchen. Eliza’s little hums and coos keep her occupied, like she’s having some sort of conversation, as Eddie sets her into her Disney princess highchair.
“I’ll heat up a bottle and then we’ll go watch some TV, okay?” Eddie asks the baby through a yawn.
He receives no reply as he pulls a prepared baby bottle out of the refrigerator and pops it into the microwave. As it heats up, Eddie goes around the kitchen, pulling out a frying pan, a spatula, and some cooking spray. Eliza watches with curiosity, but the moment the microwave beeps, her eyes snap in that direction, and she whines to get the attention of her father.
“I’m coming, I’m coming,” Eddie says, ruffling the tiny bit of hair that Eliza has as he passes by her.
The milk passes the wrist temperature test, so Eddie scoops his daughter up and makes his way into the living room with her.
“Okay,” he says through another yawn. “What should we watch? Let’s see what’s already in the DVD player. Oh, you like Hercules. Perfect.”
Eddie presses play on the remote and settles down on the couch with Eliza. He kicks out his plaid pajama clad legs and rests his feet on the coffee table as he situates Eliza against his body so he’s best able to feed her.
The little girl eagerly accepts her food, snuggling back against her dad’s chest as she takes over the responsibility of holding the bottle. Her eyes remain trained on the screen as she drinks, Eddie becoming invested in the movie as well. He even starts to sing to her as she finishes up the last of her milk.
“Like a shooting star, I will go the distance
I will search the world, I will face its harms
I don’t care how far, I can go the distance
‘Til I find my hero’s welcome waiting in your arms.”
Bright, shining eyes stare up at Eddie, making him chuckle once the song is over. Eliza blinks a few times, her dark long lashes kissing her cheeks with each flutter.
“Like when I sing?” Eddie asks her.
As a response, she drops her empty bottle and snuggles even further into her dad’s chest, making herself as comfortable as possible. Eddie gently rests his head atop her softer, smaller one and keeps watching the movie with her.
About halfway through the movie, Ryan comes down the hallway, rubbing his left eye as he trudges into the living room.
“Morning, pal,” Eddie greets.
“Mornin’,” Ryan answers, waving to his little sister as he passes the couch.
Eddie turns his head to tell his son, “I got everything you’ll need out for you. On the counter by the stove. Well, you’ll need to get the food parts out of the fridge, but I got the other stuff.”
“Thanks,” Ryan says as he continues on to the kitchen.
Now instead of the movie, Eddie’s attention is on any and all sounds coming from the kitchen. Yes, he trusts Ryan and knows he’s a competent kid—but he’s still only a twelve-year-old kid. After about ten minutes, Eddie can’t take it any longer and places Eliza in her pink flowery walker so he can go check in on his oldest son.
Ryan’s doing surprisingly well. He has all the ingredients that he needs out, and he has everything set up around him. He’s about to open the carton of eggs when Eddie raises his eyebrows.
“Did you wash your hands before you started cooking?”
“Oh, right.”
As Ryan goes over to the sink, Eddie hears “Hi, Eliza!” come from the living room. The heavy tread that accompanies the voice lets Eddie know exactly where Luke is until the ten-year-old pops up beside him.
“I’m hungry,” Luke says.
Eddie musses up the boy’s curls and nods his head.
“Eliza and I will go wake up the star of the day and then I’ll make you breakfast.”
The door to your bedroom slowly swings open, the heads of your husband and daughter popping in. The moment Eliza’s gaze falls on you, she immediately wants to be brought to your side.
“Okay, okay,” Eddie whispers as he walks over to the bed. He sits down on his side of the bed and lets Eliza go, who wastes no time crawling over to you. She wraps her small arms around your head, hugging it, and making Eddie laugh. “Why don’t you give Mommy some kisses? Wake her up like Sleeping Beauty?”
Eliza just tilts her head to look up at him, not knowing what he means. Your husband demonstrates by leaning over and pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. This motion is what wakes you up, but you give no sign of being conscious, enjoying listening to your husband and daughter.
The infant does her best to copy her father, but really just slobbers on your face, which makes you laugh and peek your eyes open at her.
“Well, hello there,” you say, wiping baby drool off of your nose before it can run down any farther.
“Happy Mother’s Day!” Eddie cheers, one hand on Eliza’s back as if he’s encouraging her to say it as well.
“Thank you, Sweet Pea.” You press a kiss to your daughter’s cheek. “And thank you, baby.” Eddie leans in and gives you a peck on the lips. “Where are my boys?”
“Ryan is actually preparing your first gift of the day,” Eddie explains. “And Luke is either helping him or being a pain in the ass.”
As if he knew he was being talked about, Luke rushes into the room and does a running jump onto the bed.
“I’m heeeeeeere!”
Your middle child belly flops on the foot of the bed before army crawling up to you and wrapping an arm around your neck to press a kiss to your cheek.
“Happy Mother’s Day,” he says.
“Thank you, honey.”
You take a look around at everyone on the bed and stick your lower lip out in a pout.
“I’m missing my oldest.”
Eddie presses a kiss to the top of Eliza’s head and makes sure she’s securely between you and Luke before he gets up from the bed.
“Let me go check on him.”
While Eddie walks out of the room, Luke wriggles himself so his arms wrap around Eliza’s small frame and lays his head on your shoulder.
“So,” he says, looking up at you, his blue eyes full of excitement. “It’s a surprise but you gotta know so you’ll be ready on time so I’m gonna tell you my gift!”
“Ready on time?” you ask, brows pinching together.
“Mhmm!” Luke says, letting Eliza chew on his thumb. “The art studio near Dad’s work is having a special Mommy and Me painting day and you and I are gonna go!”
“Luke, that sounds perfect,” you say, a bright grin lighting up your face. “I can’t wait.”
Eddie steps back into the room with Ryan, who has batter smudged on his nose.
“Happy Mother’s Day!” Ryan says, coming over and giving you a hug.
“Thank you, sweetheart. What have you been making a mess of?” you tease, poking his nose just below the smeared batter.
“My present to you!” he says excitedly. “I made breakfast. Just for the two of us.”
A gasp of excitement escapes your lips, and you rest your forehead against Ryan’s.
“He’s even set up a nice place setting out on the porch for you guys,” Eddie adds. “I’ll be managing the gremlins inside.”
“Hey! Who you calling a gremlin?” Luke asks, sitting up and narrowing his eyes at his father.
As if in response, Eliza presses her hands flat against Luke’s stomach and gives him a push.
“He was talking about you too, you know,” Luke tells his baby sister with a sigh. She copies his sigh and flops dramatically across his lap.
There’s a soft breeze outside as you sit across the table from Ryan, enjoying the French toast breakfast that he made for the two of you. Surprisingly, it tastes really good—better than any breakfast that’s been made for you in a long time.
“I think you should take over cooking for your dad from now on,” you tell Ryan with a playful smirk on your face. Before he can respond, your eyes catch on the mug sitting at your place setting. It’s white with a gold handle, and in the same golden color it says “World’s Best Mom” in a swoopy font.
For a moment you just stare at it, admiring it, and feeling your heart fill up with warmth. Carefully, you reach forward and lift the mug full of coffee towards you.
“This is beautiful, sweetheart,” you tell Ryan, looking at him over the rim of the mug. “Thank you.”
There’s a smile on Ryan’s face that’s a mixture of excitement and that mischievous look he used to get when he was a little boy.
“You should look at the back,” he says as you’re mid-sip.
Once you swallow your mouthful of coffee, you slowly turn the mug one hundred and eighty degrees to take a look at the other side. The sight that greets you has your eyes immediately filling with tears. Printed on the mug is a family picture of the five of you—the very first picture the five of you had taken together after Eliza had been born. The newborn is still wrapped in her blanket from the hospital as you hold her while sitting on the couch, Eddie right beside you. On his other side is Luke, grinning that hundred-watt smile that can light up any room. And on your other side is Ryan, leaning in close because just before the picture was snapped, he had his head bent over Eliza and was telling her that she was home now.
As much as you want to thank Ryan for the gift, your throat feels too constricted for words.
“Oh my God,” you’re finally able to squeak out. It takes you another few moments before you can speak again. “Ryan, I absolutely love it. It’s perfect. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
You set the mug back down on the table and open your arms for him. The oldest Munson boy pushes out of his chair and walks around the table, where you pull him into a bone crushing hug. He laughs as he wraps his arms around you to embrace you in return. Giving a little extra tug, you pull Ryan all the way into your lap, which has him laughing even harder. The pure joy his laughter radiates has you even more emotional than you already were.
“I don’t care if you’re too big for this now!” you say, words muffled against his back. Ryan tries to situate himself a little better, so you loosen your grip but don’t let him go. He drops his head back, realizing he isn’t going to be let free just yet, and the way the back of his skull becomes cradled in the crook of your elbow reminds you of how you held Eliza when she was smaller. A chuckle stuffed with a dozen different emotions bubbles out of you and you smooth some of Ryan’s golden brown curls off his forehead.
“I don’t care that you’ll be a teenager soon. I don’t care that you’re almost as tall as me. You’re still my little boy. You’ll always be my little boy.”
A smile tugs at the corners of Ryan's mouth.
“I’m so lucky that you’re my son,” you say softly.
Doe eyes that are so much like his father’s and his sister’s stare up at you from where his head rests on your arm, love and curiosity in his gaze.
“Did you love us before you loved Dad?” he asks.
It’s not something you expected him to ask, not something you thought about in a long time.
“That’s a tricky question,” you say, brows pinching together. “Because they’re different types of love. But, yeah, I did love you guys first. It was impossible not to after spending time with you.”
Ryan tilts his head, looking away pensively. He’s quiet and you wish you knew what was going on in his brilliant, beautiful mind.
“That’s pretty cool,” he finally says. “Some people have trouble finding the person they belong with. But you found three.” He smiles. “You were always meant to be my mom.”
The tears that began to build up earlier now fall down your cheeks and Ryan is quick to sit up and wipe them away.
“I didn’t mean to make you cry!”
“It’s a good cry,” you assure him with a watery smile through your sniffles. “It’s very, very good.”
The second that you step through the door into the classroom where the Mommy and Me paint session is happening, Luke’s eyes go wide. All the art that hangs on the walls mesmerizes him as the two of you find a pair of empty canvases to sit at.
Towards the back of the room, you and Luke take seats at a table on the left side. There are two easels perched on the table that hold blank white canvases. Between the two, there are a myriad of colored paints for you and Luke to share, as well as a variety of brushes of different sizes.
You’re about to redirect Luke into a conversation with you because it seems like all the art surrounding him has him on overdrive, head constantly on a swivel in an attempt to see everything and you don’t want him to get overstimulated. But before you can open your mouth, the teacher at the front of the class calls for attention.
“Happy Mother’s Day everyone!” she says. “I’m so glad that so many of you wanted to spend time painting with your moms today! I’m Hannah and I’ll be your instructor for this class.” Hannah explains the basic rules, how the class works, and offers to answer any questions. “Sometimes we have themes we work on in these classes, but I’m not here to tell you what to paint. But wouldn’t it be cool if each mom and child’s set of paintings had a common theme?”
Luke perks up at this, instantly loving the idea. He swivels to you in his seat and nods his head so emphatically he reminds you of a bobblehead doll.
When you’re given free rein to work on your paintings, Luke plucks a thin paintbrush out of the holder and taps it against his chin.
“What should we paint?”
“What about…the ocean?” you suggest. “You can paint the pirate ship that’s on top of the water and I can paint the mermaid that’s under the water.”
Luke gets very excited about your idea and nods enthusiastically once more. You swear, you feel like you have to stop him before a spring pops out of his neck.
“Ooh! We should turn the canvases like this!” Luke tilts both canvases so they’re landscape and would look better one on top of the other.
“Very smart,” you praise.
Luke appraises his canvas and decides where to start painting the bottom of his ship, when his eyes glance over to your blank canvas and he’s struck with an idea.
“You should make the mermaid look like Eliza! Not like…a baby, but with her color hair and eyes. And maybe a pink tail since she loves pink!”
You chuckle, eyes crinkling in the corner as you nod your head in agreement. “I can’t think of anyone who would make a more magical mermaid than your sister,” you say.
“You would,” Luke says casually as he dips his brush in some coppery-taupe paint.
Warmth fills your body and your hand stalls on its way to grab a brush at his compliment. You make a mental note to ruffle his curls up later when your hands are clean and press a kiss to the top of his head.
“Like The Little Mermaid?” you ask.
“Yeah,” Luke says, brush stroking from side to side to paint the broad side of the ship. “But, like, the Disney one, not the Brother’s Grimm one where she doesn’t break the spell in time and turns into seafoam.”
Your giggle was pink, the same shade that you’d chosen for your mermaid’s tail.
Conversation flows and ebbs easily between the two of you as the ninety-minute class ticks by—it’s always easy and never boring with Luke around. Occasionally, you ask one another for advice on your paintings or ask how something is coming along. Once the instructor announces that time is up, you and Luke clean up your area while the teacher goes from table to table, taking pictures of the mothers and children with their paintings.
When she gets to you, you squat down so that you can hold your mermaid below Luke’s pirate ship. The ten-year-old holds his painting below his chin, giving the camera a proud smile, while you’re out to the side of the paintings, also sporting a proud smile. But your pride isn’t in your artwork—it’s in having Luke as your son.
When the two of you get back home, Luke eagerly shows off your paintings and Polaroid to Eddie, who, of course, loves them. The photo immediately goes on the fridge, held up by Luke’s favorite Shrek magnet, and the paintings are set on the entertainment unit until you and Luke can find a good place to hang them.
“Someone says she just woke up from her nap and is ready to hang out with Mommy,” Eddie sing-songs as he walks into the living room from the hall, where he was picking up the little Liza Bean from her nap time. Your favorite part, though, is that Eliza is wearing a white onesie that says “I 💜 Mommy.”
“Well, look at you!” you say, gleefully accepting your daughter from your husband. “And I heart Eliza! Mwah!”
“She’s got a surprise for you, too,” Eddie says.
You cock an eyebrow at your husband. “Oh, really? If it’s in her diaper I’m handing her back to you.”
Eddie laughs and presses a kiss to your forehead.
“No, not in her diaper. But it is in the bathroom.”
“The bathroom?” you question.
Eliza babbles as if she’s asking about the location as well.
“What are you asking for?” Eddie teases Eliza. “You know what it is.”
After a small boop to Eliza’s nose, Eddie slips his hand into yours and leads you into the master bathroom. Products in an array of colors are laid out on the counter and there’s a radio with a CD player tucked into the corner.
“What’s all this?” you ask, taking everything before you in.
Eddie casually strolls over to the counter and begins to present the different items as if he’s Vanna White.
“Hair mask for Mom, baby oil for Eliza’s hair,” he begins. “Oh, don’t worry, before you ask, Eliza and I got help from the people at the store who actually knew what they were talking about. Right, baby girl? Right. Okay, so. Next, face mask for Mom, oatmeal lotion for Eliza’s face. Then, as you can see, you have a variety of scents to choose from for your luxurious bubble bath. And body lotion for Mom, and more baby oil for Eliza.”
You’re overwhelmed by everything Eddie prepared and look down at your daughter in your arms, smiling up at you with her single tooth proudly on display in her lower gums. You’re overcome with how adorable she is and need to nuzzle your face against hers.
“Are we having a Mommy and Eliza spa afternoon?”
“All her idea,” Eddie says, holding up his hands in front of him.
With a chuckle, you step forward and press a soft, slow kiss to your husband’s lips.
“This is absolutely the sweetest thing ever,” you whisper against his mouth. “Thank you.”
“Anything for you, my love. You deserve some relaxation. Thought this would be some nice time for my girls.” Eddie’s eyes go back and forth from you to Eliza, Eliza to you, and the pure love that shines through his gaze is enough to get you tearing up again.
“Isn’t Daddy the best?” you ask Eliza, who is too busy looking at everything laid out on the counter.
“I think she just wants to get to it,” Eddie says. “I’ll leave you girls to your spa.”
On his way towards the bathroom door, Eddie presses play and the CD in the player begins playing instrumental, lullaby covers of popular songs that you had purchased for Eliza.
It makes you laugh, and Eddie gives you a wink, about to head out the door, but he stops short.
“Oh! One more thing.”
He steps back in and closes the door to reveal two lavender bathrobes hanging on the back, one that has “Mommy” embroidered on the back and one that says “Eliza.”
“Eddie!” You say his name with a gasp. “Oh my God, they’re so pretty.”
“Gotta keep my girls comfy even when they come out of the spa,” he says with another wink. “I’ll leave you girls to it.”
Once Eddie is gone and has shut the door behind him, you take a deep breath, wondering where to begin.
“Let’s see,” you say to Eliza. “What scented bubble bath should we use?”
Using one arm to grab all five different options, you lower yourself to the cold tile floor below and let Eliza rest between your spread legs. She leans against you and immediately picks up one of the bottles.
“Wanna try this one first? Okay. Let’s see, this is vanilla scented.” You unscrew the cap and take a sniff. It’s a faint smell, but it’s nice. When you offer it for Eliza to smell, she’s clearly unimpressed as she doesn’t even spare the bottle a second glance. “We’ll call that a maybe.” You set that one to the side and grab another bottle. Rose Water. The scent isn’t bad to you, but it immediately makes little Eliza sneeze. That one gets pushed farther away as you giggle at how adorable your little girl’s sneezes are. The third option is Cherry Blossoms and by the way Eliza wanted to take this bottle from your hands, you’d say she liked it. A definite contender since you enjoyed it as well. Tropical Mango is a hit with Eliza, not so much with you, and Citrus smelled nice and clean but Eliza wrinkled up her nose more than you’ve ever seen her do before. Cherry Blossoms it is.
You let Eliza stay seated on the floor and push the other bottles around while you get up to run the bath water and add the bubbles. Next up, adding the baby oil to Eliza’s hair proves amusing because she keeps trying to roll her eyeballs up high enough to see what you’re doing. It’s impossible not to giggle and you press a kiss to her nose.
“Silly girl.”
Adding your own hair mask is much simpler, but Eliza still studies you, and you can’t help but wonder what’s going through her little mind as she watches you now—never mind what goes on in your house on a day-to-day basis.
“You ready for the water?”
Carefully, you step into the tub—making sure both facemasks are within reach—and lower both you and Eliza into the warm water and bubbles.
The seven-month-old clearly isn’t sure how she feels about sitting in the water at first, but once she realizes you’re sitting in there with her and it’s warm, she likes it. Slowly, she begins to get a little more adventurous and starts to make small splashes. These amuse her greatly until the bubbles start growing higher; then she seems a little concerned by them. All it takes is you scooping some up in your hand and blowing on them so they scatter and fly around to catch the baby’s attention again. She sits facing you and you gather enough suds to give her a bubble beard. This tickles her both literally and figuratively because she can’t stop laughing once it’s on her.
The sound is pure joy and so infectious. You laugh with her, silently wishing she could always be this happy.
The song on the CD changes to the instrumental, lullaby version of You’re My Best Friend by Queen.
“I love this song,” you tell her.
“Ooh, you make me live
Whatever this world can give to me
It’s you, you’re all I see
Ooh, you make me live now, honey
Ooh, you make me live.”
Eliza is mesmerized by your singing, and it makes you chuckle. She rests her head against your chest but the oil in her hair has her head slipping around, making you laugh even more.
With a sigh, you sink a little further into the water to relax.
“When you’re old enough to head bang,” you say, “I’ll teach you Bohemian Rhapsody. But fair warning, once you can head bang your dad is gonna make you do it to his music all the time.”
After you’ve soaked for a bit and both your and Eliza’s fingers are pruny, you reach over the side of the tub and grab the face mask and oatmeal lotion. First you apply Eliza’s and you’re surprised at how still she sits and lets you rub it around her face. Maybe it feels nice to her, just like a facial should. As you apply the mask to your skin, Eliza starts to giggle.
“What’s so funny?” you ask her.
Her ferocious giggles continue, and you realize she must be laughing at how you look because she looks silly even in her little oatmeal mask. The two of you laugh and you have to hold Eliza steady because even though she’s getting very good at sitting up on her own now, she’s laughing so hard that she keeps almost falling over.
Taking a washcloth, you first gently take off Eliza’s mask and then your own. Though her giggles have subsided, Eliza looks up at you with a smile on her lips and a glimmer of happiness in her eyes.
“This isn’t my first Mother’s Day,” you tell her, voice soft at first, “but it’s my first one with a baby. My little Sweet Pea. You and your brothers—and your dad—made this such a wonderful day. I’m so lucky to have you all. Thank you for choosing me to be your mom. I’d like to think you chose me, anyway.”
The little girl puckers her lips and makes a smacking sound as if she blew you a kiss.
“Right back atcha, kid.”
As soon as you get both of your hairs rinsed out, all you can think about is the soft plush bathrobe that’s awaiting you. But first, lotion. As you apply yours to your body, Eliza watches the water go down the drain of the tub with complete fascination. She peeks over the side of the tub, mesmerized with the whirlpool collecting near the pulled plug.
“Ready to be moisturized?” you ask her once all the water has disappeared. “Want that baby smooth skin?” Your own joke makes you laugh as you pop the top on the baby oil.
Eliza isn’t used to the sensation of having something slick on her skin. The slightly furrowed brow and the way she keeps running her hands lightly over her arms tells you she isn’t sure how she feels about it.
The time has now come for the bathrobes. The mini one comes off its hook first. It’s a little difficult to maneuver her body into the robe, but you soon get it situated on her and tie the fuzzy belt at her waist. She is a purple marshmallow, and the cuteness threatens to make your heart burst. A pleasurable sigh hums through you as you slip into your own robe. The way it feels like you’re wearing a pillow and cuddled up cozy but not constricted or overheated has you daydreaming about wearing this every single day.
“Come on you,” you say, picking up your fashion twin. “Let’s go see Daddy.”
Footsteps approach the living room and Eddie turns his head from the television to see you and Eliza making your entrance. A laugh of amusement falls from your husband’s lips.
“Look at my girls! A vision in purple!”
You walk around the couch and sit down on his lap, holding Eliza on your own.
“Tell Daddy that we had a nice relaxing time.”
“Good,” Eddie says and presses a kiss to your cheek. A strong hand rubs up and down your back and it relaxes you even further.
“Where are the boys?” you ask, voice sounding slightly distant as his touch lulls your body practically pliant.
“In the kitchen,” Eddie says, “going over the takeout menu for the Chinese place a few blocks over. So we’ll probably see them in an hour or two.”
Letting out a soft chuckle, you snuggle up against your husband, your baby cocooned between you.
“I love Chinese food.”
“That’s why we’re getting it, princess. It’s your day,” Eddie tells you before looking down at your daughter. “Right, Liza?”
Eliza simply blinks at him in response and buries her face in the soft fabric of your robe.
“Oh,” Eddie says as a thought resurfaces in his mind. He looks over the back of the couch to make sure neither of the boys are coming. “I have to tell you what Luke said. And, well, Ryan too.”
“What is it?”
Eddie’s smile is one filled with happiness and pride and it’s making you all the more curious.
“When you were in the bathroom—excuse me, I mean spa—Luke was telling us about the art class and how much fun it was. Then he kind of pauses and says, ‘You know…no, never mind. It will sound stupid.’ But I was like, come on, what’s on your mind, kid? And he goes, ‘I’ve always known how much Ryan and I are loved by everyone; our family. But I guess seeing how we’re treated the same way…’ And then he trailed off and sighed, and I think he couldn’t figure out how to phrase what he wanted to say. But I guess Ryan knew where he was going because he took over. He says, “We’re not treated any differently than Eliza. We’re all…’ Then he trailed off, but I caught where they were going then. So, I said, ‘You’re all her kids. Each one of you three is just as much her child as the other two. There’s no difference.’”
Tears flood your eyes but you’re not entirely sure what emotion is provoking them.
“They thought—” your voice cracks and you can’t continue.
“No, no, hey,” Eddie reassures you. “Both of them said it was something they never thought about. Not even after Eliza was born. But I guess a kid in Luke’s class or something says his stepdad doesn’t treat him like his son and Luke thought that was crazy. All he’s known since he was five is you loving him as if he’s your own. Because he is your son. Then I guess Luke talked to Ryan about it and they thought back and couldn’t think of a time where you treated Eliza as more important than them. I think it was an emotional revelation. One that they don’t take lightly. They know that they’re your babies, too. God, I wish you could’ve seen the looks on their faces when we were talking about this. Just the pride they have that you’re their mom. That you chose them and love them as fiercely and deeply as possible. Sweetheart, the only thing that was my idea today was the spa with Eliza. Everything with the boys? That all came from them. I hope you know how much they love you.”
“I do,” you admit with a sniffly smile, cheeks completely stained with tear tracks. “They chose me too. They’re my sons.”
Eliza looks up at you and babbles and coos, clearly wanting to be part of this conversation.
Both you and Eddie chuckle at her insistence and Eddie takes the opportunity to wipe your face.
“And you’re my daughter,” you say to Eliza.
“No denying that with how much you look like Mommy, huh?” Eddie says, running the back of his forefinger down Eliza’s soft, chubby cheek.
“Hey!” Luke says as the boys come back into the room, Ryan holding the takeout menu in his hand. “Why didn’t we get matching robes too?”
“The color clashes with your skin,” Eddie quips.
“I’d like to be included in these things is all I’m saying,” Luke says as he sits on the couch perpendicular to the one you’re on.
Ryan perches on the arm of the couch you’re on and opens the menu.
“We figured out what we want,” Ryan says, offering the menu to Eddie. “We circled them.”
“In red pen,” Luke adds. “The blue pen is from the last time we ordered.”
“Red pen,” Eddie repeats. “Got it.”
Reluctantly, you slip off of his lap so he can go call and make the order. Truthfully, you’d rather stay curled up in your husband’s lap, forget the Chinese food, and survive on Eddie’s cuddles alone.
“Want your usual, babe?” Eddie asks you.
“Yes please.”
The sound of footsteps fades the closer Eddie gets to the kitchen. You wave both of the boys over to come sit with you.
“Boys,” you stage whisper.
They come over, Luke plopping down on your left side and Ryan hunkering down on your right. Gently, you tuck Eliza between your and Ryan’s bodies before you wrap an arm around each of the boys’ shoulders and pull them in for a hug.
“Thank you for—oh, yes, Eliza you’re included in this too,” you say when Eliza harrumphs at you. “Thank you for the most amazing Mother’s Day. This was one of the best days I’ve ever had.”
“In your whole life?” Luke asks.
“In my whole life,” you affirm. “And thank you all for making me a mom. It’s the hardest but coolest thing I’ve ever done.”
“Being your kid is pretty cool, too,” Luke says. “Don’t worry, we’ll make sure Eliza knows that as soon as she understands words.”
With a tired but content smile, you lean back against the cushions on the couch and immediately feel little hands and knees digging into various parts of your body as Eliza climbs up your body and makes herself comfortable, her clean head and hair coming to rest on your chest. From the position you were in when you hugged the boys, your arms are still stiff and wide open, and Luke is the first to take advantage of that.
He tucks himself into your side, resting his head on your shoulder. Ryan copies his actions (instead of the other way around for a change) and leans against your right side, careful of Eliza’s tiny head that is so close to his.
For a few moments you just sit there, thinking. Enjoying this time, with all three of your children in your arms. You close your eyes and savor it, just you and your babies in this moment.
Eddie strolls back in from the kitchen.
“Food is on its way—oh. Well, don’t we all look comfortable?” Eddie smiles as his gaze roams over the couch, taking in every detail of the four of you. His oldest babies who helped get him through one of the worst periods of his life. You, the great love of his life who saved him in every possible way. And the small baby girl that the two of you created together.
You tilt your head and rest it against Luke’s, looking up at Eddie with a soft smile.
His eyes meet yours and no words need to be said. Everything you need to express to one another is in that look. The love, the happiness, the gratefulness. Both of you realize the million and one things that had to line up just right for this moment to be a reality. It’s exciting to think about what the choices that were made today will lead you to in your future together. Only time will tell—and right now? This particular moment is one you’d like to pause. Maybe pause it until you can wring every moment of blissfulness from it that you possibly can. But you already know that would be impossible—the joy in this moment is endless.

cw: heavy angst, talk of children, childbirth and death, grief, bakugou is miserable tbh, izuku has an unnamed wife
a/n: sorry lol. also repost.
Izuku’s infant son looks disturbingly just like him, Bakugou realizes.
A bit small for age height-wise, but chubby nonetheless, with a shock of green wavy-curly hair. Large, green eyes. The freckles haven’t settled in yet, probably because he’s still too young, but the features are nearly the same.
The kid also won’t stop kicking as Katsuki tries to fasten his diaper, and he’s getting a tiny bit frustrated. At least he’s not crying - thankfully, he doesn’t appear to have inherited the excessively soft disposition from his dad.
“You’re gonna have to be faster than that,” you joke from behind him. Bakugou finishes up securing the diaper, then glances at you and scowls. “Next time he’ll pee on ya!” you giggle while Bakugou gets the baby’s onesie back on then carries him so that he rests on his chest. He makes his way towards the bottle warmer - the baby isn’t crying now, but based on the guide Izuku’s wife gave him, this is about the time for his next feeding and he’s got a pair of lungs on him. It also doesn’t help that the toddler keeps nuzzling his face into his chest as though he’s trying to find a nipple to suck on.
He does have to admit the little kiddo is cute.
“Did you check the temperature?”
You watch him carefully as he shakes warm milk onto the back of his hand, perched on the counter and swinging your feet gently. Bakugou doesn’t keep his eyes off of you as he checks, child cradled in his left arm.
“I know what I’m doing, princess,” he asserts. He has a little pout instead of a scowl instead, the one you’ve always thought was cute, where he communicates his disappointment that you’re underestimating his skill.
“Of course you do, love.” You smile widely, sweetly, as if you weren’t just micromanaging him. Not that he minds - when you hop off the counter and walk towards him, hands reaching upwards to caress his face gently, he can feel his face growing warm, even if your hands are disturbingly cool to the touch.
You make your way to the couch first, nearly gliding along the linoleum that lines the kitchen, then along the impeccably clean wooden floorboards into the Midoriyas’ living room. It’s odd that you know this house so well, but you and Izuku’s wife had long been friends and spent many a night together in this very home when he and Izuku had been wrapped up in high grade missions and wouldn’t be home for days to weeks on end.
You flop onto the couch and point the remote to the television, even though it is already on, set to the news. Bakugou holds the baby in his lap as he sits down behind you and starts to feed him. You rest your head on his shoulder and to Katsuki, you are as light as a feather.
“We haven’t had time together in a long while,” you whisper.
Bakugou’s head tilts ever so slightly so that it rests against yours as well.
“You’re right. I’ve missed you,” he insists. There’s a quiet silence between you. It really has been a while that you’ve been able to sit together like this, despite being husband and wife.
“Are you fine with babysitting?” you ask. “Izuku was worried about asking you in the first place according to ___, and she had to convince him it was okay despite everything, insisting that it would be good for you-”
Katsuki interrupts your rambling with a kiss on your forehead.
“It’s fine,” he says, gruffly. Your lips pull into a sad smile.
“I’m sorry, Katsuki, I wish things had been different,” you say anyway.
Katsuki can feel his heart breaking, and instead focuses on the child in his lap, monitoring his progress on the bottle. He had wanted a child. He had wanted a child so badly, one that looked like him and you, and what had it brought him?
The memory of you haunting him constantly, always there, but not really there.
When he looks back at you again, your form is starting to dissipate, as it does whenever he starts to remember you’re no longer on this plane of existence.
His hands are full so he can no longer cling to you - plus this has happened so many times before that he’s now nearly used to it - so instead he watches you go, numb, tears no longer falling from his eyes. After all, just for today, he has someone else to take care of, even if it’s for a short period of time.
The kid is falling asleep in his lap now, and it’s just the two of them as Bakugou watches, but doesn’t really watch the shifting pictures in front of him. Being a godfather feels like an incomplete substitute for being a father at times, but it’s valuable all the same.
“Guess it’s just me and you, kid,” he whispers as he rises to put the baby to bed.
When the Midoriyas never return, and Bakugou signs the last of adoption papers, it rings again true.
The child laughs a little more now, unaware that his godfather now turned legal father sees three figures that aren’t really there instead of one now. Bakugou smiles as he throws the kid up in the air, realizing that misery might have helped him mourn you initially, but won’t keep the two of them safe.
“Guess it really is just me and you.”

matt and fem!reader

warnings: use of y/n, fluff, pet names, that’s it enjoy :)
word count: idk
*y/ns pov*
I drop my bags almost immediately after entering the triplets house. It was finally the weekend and they, mostly Matt, invited me to spend the night after work. I wasted no time saying yes since I was free and find myself now heading up the stairs into their LA house. I throw my shoes off nearby the second case of stairs and walking to Matt’s bathroom to freshen up.
I figured they were all in their rooms doing their own thing so I decided to throw a movie on the couch as to not bother them. I across through netflix until a show caught my eye as I begin to watch.
*matts pov*
It’s been about two hours since y/n was supposed to be home and honestly, she was starting to worry me. She hasn’t entered my room at all or contacted me. Ending the livestream, I head over to the kitchen to grab my phone and call her when I see an arm with painted acrylics hanging from the white plush couch.
I smiled to myself and headed over to see y/n sprawled out on top of the pillows in what seemed like the most uncomfortable position known to man. “Y/n, y/n sweetheart come to my room it’s freezing out here” I whisper in an attempt to soothe her already furrowed eyebrows. “What?” She questions, rubbing her eyes with her hands and lifting herself off the couch. She immediately winces from the pain in her back. “Let’s go sweet girl, I’ll take care of you just get changed and go lay in bed” I whisper, leaning over to plant a short but sweet kiss on her lower cheek.
With that y/n gets up from bed and heads over to my room while I tidy up the living room and take her phone to place on the charger. I head over to the kitchen fill up a cold glass of water how she likes it and shuffle into the bedroom.
The lights were dim with my computer screen flashing white, and the black silk covers were hidden with y/n on top of them. I make my way over to the monitor and shut the computer down as I change out of my clothes, leaving my boxers on. I look over to see y/n tensed up on the bed with a distressed expression painted on her tired face. “What’s bothering you, my love? Talk to me” I say as I climb into the bed hovering over her. “My back, it’s hurting from god knows what” she replies. My heart aches to see her in pain. Whenever I’m sick she calls out of work to take care of me, and here I was feeling helpless. “Oh baby” I whisper leaning to give her a light hug where she tenses up even more under my touch.
After a moment of holding y/n, an idea pops up in my head. “Baby, can you lay on your stomach for me please?” I ask, my face bright from the idea. Confused, y/n turns around nonetheless and rests on her stomach, her head turned to the right facing Matt. “Okay, this might hurt at first but then it’s going to feel good, I promise” I reassure and I slowly straddle my poor girl.
“Matt, what are you doing, I’m not in the mood” She rolls her eyes and lets out a soft chuckle. “No, baby, not what you think we’re doing just close your eyes and relax— here” I hand her the remote lying next to my pillow, “play some music that will soothe you.
Y/n lets out a soft sigh as she hits a playlist with some of her favorite songs, the first one being my personal favorite too. I let out a content hum and I place my hands and the hem of her hoodie and slowly lift it, careful not to hurt her.
I get up momentarily to grab some moisturizer and come back to see y/n almost drifting to sleep once again. I return to straddle her, resting my weight on her butt to not hurt her, and sink. I begin to lather the moisturizer and carefully carefully spread it through her back.
Y/n tenses up again and furrows her eyebrows, as a way of saying “Too rough.” I quickly stop my tracks and go light as I begin on her lower back, kneading the muscles and massaging them. “Baby, you’re so tight, what’s been bothering you” I question, she shrugs before responding. “I can’t pinpoint exactly what it is, work has been overwhelming, not living with my mom and dad anymore, it’s just starting to get to me a bit, you know?” her response was just a little bit louder than the music behind us “Yes, baby, of course, I understand, moving to LA with Chris and Nick was the last thing I expected to happy to me, but look at here we are, as long as you’re happy with the decisions you make, there should be no reason for you to feel stressed about it, and don’t bottle it up and take it out on yourself, please come talk to me right away, my love” I reassure her and I move my hands up to the middle of her back. She lets out a soft nod and smiles as I work my hands into a circular motion, getting all the knots and undoing them.
After five minutes or so, y/n starts to relax her shoulders, perfect for me to reach over and massage them myself. She lets out a breath that’s been held and immediately relaxes under my touch, for the first time today. As I smile to myself. I bend over to kiss her on the back of her neck, hugging her from behind.
We stayed like this for a while, drifting off to sleep when a loud bang was heard from the kitchen. I quickly sit up, causing y/n to return to consciousness. “What was that” she asks, her voice groggy. “I’ll go check baby,” I say as I crawl out of the bed, the blanket never leaving us.
I head over to the kitchen, annoyed, as I stare at Chris and Nick laughing their asses off. “What’s so hilarious you had to be this loud” I groan, still half-asleep. They just stared at each other momentarily before laughing again, Nick holding onto the counter for stability while Chris cried. “It's just this—” again cut off by more laughing. I glare at the two until I notice the grip of Chris’s phone and a silhouette of my bed displayed. I walk over there and snatch the phone from Chris’s hand, only to see a picture of me and y/n asleep.
I bite back a laugh as I roll my eyes in annoyance, turning to my room. “You guys are ridiculous” I yawn, and all you can hear is their snickers fading away.
I enter the dim room to see y/n perched up against the headboard, her phone in her hand. “Everything alright, Matt?” she asks, tilting her head slightly. “Everything’s fine, baby, let’s just go back to sleep please” I groan, my voice was becoming tired and my eyelids were fighting to stay open. “I’m energized and my back feels amazing. Come here let me make you feel better” she grins, steering and opening her arms.
I waste no time practically jumping onto the bed. I bring my head onto y/n’s chest, my cheeks resting on her breast and my legs on top of hers. My arms snake around her waist and my eyes shut due to the lack of sleep I've had. “Get some rest, pretty boy” she whispers. Y/n’s hand played with my messy hair as she reached over to plant a kiss on my forehead. “Mm- love you” I mumble before finally resting, safe in y/n's arms.
The end hoes 😜

Unknown (Till The End...)
Mark Grayson x Reader
Warnings: Mentions of Death and Violence, Gaku's lack of knowledge with guitars
Notes: Gaku actually had a vision about ALNST and Invincible.
Synopsis: You were taken as a performer by the Viltrumites who were fascinated by Humanity's song. Forced to sing to survive, you only hope that your voice will reach him.
"Don't even think this time's enough. Cause you baby still it's not enough. For me alright? Don't leave me, li li da da da."
You hate this.
Forced to perform for these damned aliens just because you have some stage presence. Those homicidal maniacs who only know how to conquer and dominate worlds suddenly got an interest in human entertainment?? What a joke, this must be some kind of twisted torture. Humans are pitted against each other to compete on who'll get the most votes out of their performance, and the loser will get shot to death. The winner? They'll have to sing for another round.
Contestants were treated as pets, stripped of their freedom. Families and friends were torn apart by this system, forced to compete with each other and ultimately become an unwilling accessory to murder. Those who were too mentally weak were easily eliminated, those who rebelled (and subsequently caught) were killed, only those who knew to behave survived, ...or those who had talent, such as yourself.
Not long after the Viltrumites conquered Earth and enacted this sick show, you and some others were taken into a "garden", filled with obviously fake imitations of trees and nature, it's condescending mockery of your home planet. Evey single one of you are required to undergo music classes to improve your skills, and every once a month, all of you are taken to participate in laboratory tests to see your progress. You don't know whose idea was this, but you're sure as hell would want to beat them up.
You had quite the viscous streak, always retaliating and questioning authority, leading to more bruises and injuries than you can count. Pet-Humans, you gagged at the new name, are required to have collars that's used to monitor and as a remote collar. There are some cases of well-behaved humans who are let to live without them, but you? You're never without it, with the light on yours always bright red, signaling your negative feelings.
Surprisingly, it takes three Viltrumites to restrain you, granted, they were really holding back their strength as to not damage you too much. You spat at them once upon being referred to as less than human, and it earned you a concussion that left you bedridden for at least a week. It hurt like hell.
Due to your personality, the other humans steered clear of you in fear of being involved with the punishments, it didn't stopped the younger ones from constantly swarming around you though, insisting you sing for them. Despite your disposition, you wanted to make them happy so you obliged, at least for the couple more years that they get to live before they're forced to the stage.
You were... a decent singer, if you would say so yourself. You watched performances here and there back in Earth, watched theatre once or twice and sung along their songs, but you never performed by yourself, so it was a mystery that you were picked alongside the others to survive as entertainment. You overheard some of them talk about potential or talent but you call bullshit, until you saw yourself easily composing songs that secured your spot as the winner during the weekly tests. Ah, shit.
Sometimes, you think about your past as you sat by the fake river in the false garden. Your friends and family that you hadn't saw since you got abducted. Did they survived? Hopefully. There should still be heroes fighting for the sake of Humanity back there, right? There's Atom Eve, The GDA, Invincible...
You miss Mark. You hope he's not blaming and beating himself up because of this. You know he's a Viltrumite, everyone knows at this point, but you knew him beyond that. You know him as both Mark Grayson and Invincible. And you know that he's probably fighting tooth and nail to retrieve the humans that his kind... No, that his father's kind kidnapped.
That thought kept you going, kept you alive throughout the punishments and torture you get from fighting the guards and system. The thought that he'll be coming for you kept you sane from the abuse.
Until you saw a glimpse of him within the spectators.
It took a while, but the results for the humans who passed the tests came out. Those who pass will compete on the stage, those who didn't were either given away for other purposes or burnt to death. You opened your hands and a light-blue light crackled to life, showing "PASSED". You survive for another day in this hellscape.
You were sent to the fitting room to get dolled up for the photoshoot and promotional events, all while being restrained with wires and alien machinery to keep you in place. That didn't stopped you from flipping the Viltrumites off when it's time to show off alongside the other chosen contestants. That's when you saw Mark.
He's blended in the crowd, face notably exhausted, with dark spots visible under his eyes. His eyes followed your form until you disappear back in the backstage. What the hell? He's here? He's here! Mark's here! That means that this will all be over soon, right?
The first round happened without any repercussions. You saw in your capsule how it rolled out, it was a duet between two lovers. You heard that they plan to make it a tie so no one gets eliminated. You didn't had the heart to tell them that it won't work, opting to have them have hope until the very end. Your suspicions were confirmed later on, as one of them just got shot on the neck, traumatizing their competitor. Your eyes landed to meet Mark's, he's in a Viltrumite uniform, with a downcast expression, like he has given up.
You grit your teeth.
Your round comes after. Making an appearance in Round Two, you were pitted against one of your acquaintances back in the garden. You two weren't particularly closed and you thanked whoever made the teams for that. As the elevator rises up, you mentally prepared yourself for the public retaliation.
Suddenly strumming a particular loud chord, you caught the attention of both your opponent and the crowd, Mark included. You don't know what happened, how it happened, just that Mark looks like shit. You step to the center of the stage, your restraints trailing behind you as you glared at everyone.
"Come on!"
You sang an original song, not the one that was agreed upon a few hours prior. Your competitor tried to keep up with the unfamiliar tune but you kept singing over him, even attacking to prevent any chances of him winning. It was a dirty move, but it resulted in your win nonetheless.
You only grinned at Mark's direction, happy that you got your point across while you got pinned to the ground by the guards, before forcefully shoved back to your capsule. You closed your eyes as you bled from your head injury from getting slammed too hard.
Mark stares at you from the audience, expression unreadable but a flicker of defiance was seen for a second.

colourblind [paul lahote x reader]
AN:// this pushes all of the wolves and new moon plot to summer.
summary: based on this post of how the shift Paul and the others experience would give them physical attributes akin to a wolf, which is being colourblind. Which Paul finds himself in, until of course, he sees you for the first time in months on the first day of summer.
warnings- mature language and themes. one suggestive scene. 18+ word count 10k.
“La Push baby! Its LaPush!”
“Do you have to say that every time we go to LaPush?” I asked, staring at the back of Mike and Eric’s heads in the van. They were singing and screaming into the warm air as we drove down to First Beach.
“He said that to me when I first came to LaPush,” Bella added, meekly. I laughed, lightly pushing against her. She was wearing a white blouse and tan shorts, opposing my dark shorts and tight blue shirt, Angela had gotten me it when she went to the Grand Canyon with her family. It read “visit the Grand Canyon today!” on the back, so ugly I loved it.
“He’s been saying it since we were five and our parents would carpool us in the summer.” I whispered to Bella; we were both laughing at the terrifying attempt from Mike to sing ‘Wanna Be’ by Spice Girls. Butchering the lines didn’t matter to Mike, it was summer. First day of it. Bella was finally out of the pit she had found herself in.
I’d spent almost every Friday and Saturday night of the past seven months sleeping over at the Swan house, waiting for Bella to come through. At first it was scary, the screaming and the vacancy of her mind, but she’s better now. At least I hope she is, Charlie thinks so, but I’m worried she’s becoming dependent on our friend Jacob. Coming to First Beach did mean a far chance we could run into Jacob, but it also means she’s surrounded by other people, and as annoying as Mikes singing is, I can tell she’s enjoying it.
“Are you okay?” I heard Bella say, we’d parked, and the boys were getting their surfing gear on. I hadn’t even noticed; Bella was wide eyed like a little deer and grasping onto my shoulder. “Is it to do with Paul?”
“No,” I laughed uncomfortably shaking her off as I got out of the seat into the back, taking of my clothes to reveal my favourite bikini underneath. “Not even thinking about him.” Which was true, to an extent. I had been thinking about Paul Lahote all morning and all last night and the day before, and every day since three weeks ago but that wasn’t in this moment. So technically… not a lie!
She watched me in clear disbelief but didn’t push it. She knew some rumours about Paul from Jacob, not kind ones but as the days go on, I’m starting to believe them myself. Hall monitors on steroids. “What book are you bringing?” Bella asked, changing the subject.
“The Metamorphosis by Kafka, are you rereading Austen again?” I said, searching through my bag for suncream. The only way id gotten Bella to agree to coming today was to promise I’d stay by her side all day and we can just read on the beach. Which worked out well for me, I always hated getting changed after leaving the ocean, everything stuck to you; clothes, sand, everything. She nodded and sheepishly pulled Persuasion out of her bag. Bella grabbed the towels we were going to lay on as I surveyed the beach for the best spot, there were a lot more people than usual but it’s what I expected. The remote spot in the south corner seemed perfect. Setting down camp, I heard laughter and colliding footsteps coming towards us, Mike, Eric and now Tyler ran to our spot, and all jumped over one another to lay on the sand. Not a single cloud in the sky, not that the boys noticed, too busy apologising to Bella for covering her towel with sand. Laughing it off quietly she shook the towel and threw all the sand on the boys. She stopped laughing as she looked over my shoulder. Standing up I saw, Sam Uley talking with Jared, Paul and Embry? But Embry was huge and at least half a foot taller than when I last saw him. They began kicking a ball around until Paul suddenly turned in my direction. Swivelling quickly, I stared into the sea. Sitting down on my towel that I was apparently sharing with Jess, I looked over at Bella. Giving me a comforting smile, she nodded towards our books that sat in the bag at the foot of her towel.
A few hours had passed when Jacob and Quil had made their way over to us, Jess, Angela, and the boys had all decided to go on an impromptu adventure leaving Bella and I in peace, that is until Quil collapsed on my towel and Jacob calmly sat next to Bella.
“See how normal Jake is?” I asked kicking Quil with my foot, “Be more like Jake.” They all laughed as the fiend on my towel rolled over.
“Figured you needed protecting.” He said, puffing his chest put lightly with a boyish smile.
“From what?” Bella laughed.
“Lahote’s been staring at you for a while,” Jacob said staring at me. Turning around I saw Paul from a distance, I could barely make out his face but saw that he definitely wasn’t happy.
“Well thank you gentlemen, but we can handle ourselves.” I said, laughing when Quil got hit with a rouge baseball.
We spoke for a while, making jokes at each other’s expense and avoiding the subject of Embry completely. Bella and I had come to an unspoken agreement that if they wanted to talk about it, they would. I looked around the beach and saw a stall on the pavement beyond the pavilion, an old lady selling handmade jewellery. I told Bella, Jake, and Quil that I was going to see what she was selling and grabbed my purse from my bag. Making my way over across the hot sand I regretted not grabbing a shirt from Quil or Jake or even making a detour to the van, so many people were looking at me, even if they were wearing the same thing, I felt so exposed.
“Hello dear, having a good day?” The lady asked as I finally reached her stand. We spoke about the weather and then about her creations, one with a beautiful orange crystal in the middle had caught my eye. “Citrine, they bring positivity and happiness” she winked once she caught where I was looking. I grabbed my purse but before I could hand over the $5 someone else passed it to her. Following the tan hand, I saw Paul; he was looking at the lady and explained he’d buy it for me. She smiled and accepted the money, handing him the necklace over. Paul looked at the necklace in his hand and squinted, looking oddly heartbroken.
“I can buy it myself.” I said as he walked a few steps out of earshot of the old lady. He still hadn’t actually looked me in the eye yet. It was infuriating. “You know its super fucking rude of you to ignore me for weeks, replace me with new friends, act like I don’t exist and then pretend like nothings happened.” He tensed at this; I kept going. “And now you won’t even look me in the eye!” I laughed, his large shoulders straightened, God when did he get so big.
As he turned around something shifted, I’m not sure what but it was definitely something. He stared at me wide eyed, speechless and I saw tension fall from him. But I had no patience for him.
“Are you going to give me the necklace or should I just go and buy one for myself.” This seemed to snap him out of it, he passed me the necklace and kept looking at me. Not staring anymore, more of a gaze. Not voyeuristic as the other gazes from men on the beach but an intimate one, one I wanted to avoid. His eyes are a stunning brown, I think to my painting at home, I’d made him sit for hours, waiting for the result when I’d spent twenty minutes alone painting half an eye, he waited.
Tearing myself away from him I look down at the necklace, it was beautiful. I had to not owe him this. I took the $5 out of my purse and pressed it to his chest. He finally caught on and gently pushed my hand away.
“Take it.” I demanded.
“It’s a gift.” He whispered, the way he used to.
“Please take it.” I begged lightly; I couldn’t owe him for this.
“What is going on?” A harsh voice interrupted us. Quil had stood in front of my right shoulder, not hiding me completely but being a clear attempt to shield me. He didn’t know any of the details of what happened between Paul and I, but honestly, I didn’t either. He just knew how broken I was, crying to him when Bella, Jake, and Embry weren’t around. Knowing I couldn’t handle their silent looks.
“None of your fucking business, Ateara.” Paul snapped, his body tightening. Quil pushed him, suddenly Jared was holding Paul back and Sam had appeared in front of us. He had whispered something to Paul that I couldn’t catch but it looked more like a demand. One I wasn’t entirely sure was in Quil and I’s favour or not.
Jacob had arrived by this point, staring at Embry in disbelief who had told Quil to ‘back off’, Embry was normally so sweet and quiet. The way he was acting as he was influenced by the others was a clear sign to the mentality that I didn’t want anything to do with. Paul had caught my eye from over Sam’s shoulder, a pleading sense to him. I looked away, staring at Quil’s back. I couldn’t do this, get caught up in whatever teenage boy bullshit was going on. I was 18, Paul 19, Quil 17. I had no fucking interest. Ignoring the yells of my name I walked back to Bella who had watched the whole affair in bewilderment. I walked back to Bella in more confidence then when I had left, I couldn’t explain it, but I knew the people looking know, weren’t looking at me and if they were it, was a good thing. Sitting on the towel I thanked Bella for staying with the stuff and picked up my book. Not before placing the Citrine necklace in my bag. She watched me as I lied back down but I couldn’t care, knowing I’d have to tell her every detail later anyway. Jess practically ran to us, monopolising my towel once again and demanding to know what she had seen from across the beach.
“I mean not only was he completely eye-fucking you but who were all his friends?!” She practically screamed, I hit her shoulder lightly with my book for ‘eye-fucking’ as Bella blushed, but explained who the boys were.
“Oh, they’re coming over!” Jess said, elated with the drama unfolding right in front of her. My legs slid over Jess so she wouldn’t leave and who ever was coming wouldn’t stay, which thankfully she understood as she grabbed my legs lightly with a comforting rub.
“Can you believe the nerve of Embry?” I heard Jake yell as he was approaching us, Bella’s cheeks were as pink as Jess’ bikini. Jess’ jaw dropped as she ate up Quil and Jake’s physique, I watched her over my book, smirking as she stared at the long haired boys.
Quil called my name, and I looked up, with my head laid down I saw him as a giant, which made me laugh.
“What the fuck was he saying to you.” Quil demanded, staring at me.
“It’s over, don’t worry about it.” I said calmly.
“Don’t worry? He’s a fucked-up dude! Literally almost exploded on me, again!” he gave Jess context, that Paul had almost ‘attacked’ Quil in a convenience store a few weeks ago. She looked down at me in surprise. I still read my book.
“As hot as he is,” Jess said with Quil and Jake protesting as she ignored them, “no boy is worth it if he has anger like that.” She said with the older sister tone she normally used on her younger siblings. Quil and Jake agreed with her, but Bella stayed silent, I looked at her from the corner of my eye and saw her staring at the pavilion.
“Honestly, if you go back to him, I can’t be your fucking friend.” I caught Quil saying. I stood up so quick I dropped my book on the towel, loosing the page. Where did this come from? Bella, Jake and even Jess went quiet. Quil had snapped, he never snapped at me.
“First of all, that would be my decision, second, I wasn’t ‘with’ him in the first place and thirdly you don’t get to be so fucking rude to me.” I snapped, pointing a finger at his chest.
“He’s a bad fucking person and you know it.” His eyes stared into mine, harsh and true.
“You don’t know him how I know him.” I defended Paul, for some unknown reason. I didn’t even fully believe myself I was just so hurt with how Quil was acting everything was blurring out of anger.
“After everything he did, you’re defending him!” Quil yelled, desperation in his eyes, he was looking at me as if I was crazy, which I was beginning to feel.
“You don’t fucking care about me.” I yelled back. Storming away, grabbing only my bag and purse, leaving my book and towel. All but Quil yelled after me.
Opening the van, Mike was sat in the back struggling to get the sand of his feet. “Pass me my clothes.” I said, I couldn’t hear myself due to the anger raising and blurring everything, but I could tell I was being rude, Mike’s smile dropped into a worried expression as he gave me my clothes. I dressed in silence as he asked me if someone did something, like the protective older brother he always acted like. I shook my head, unable to fathom words that weren’t a string of swears. Did Quil really think that lowly of me? Did he think he could just give me an ultimatum like that, and I’d accept it? Fuck this and fuck him.
I told Mike I was going home and as he asked if I wanted a lift, I slammed the door of the van shut too hard and made my way to the back streets of first beach. I knew if I got to the centre of LaPush that I could find the bus stops I used to use when I’d hang out with Paul. Lead hit me over the head when I thought about him. I suddenly had an urge to sit by his side unlike the recent weeks where id sworn him off and cried and cried.
A truck pulled up beside me, old and worn I recognised it as Sam Uley’s. I looked over to see him sat in the driver’s seat looking at me.
“I’ll give you a ride.” He said, in a way I felt oddly comforted by as I got in. Normally, I would’ve told him to fuck off, but I felt way too emotional to walk the twenty minute walk to the centre of town. We sat in silence for ten minuets after I’d told him my address. I wanted to ask him about Paul, even about Emily and Leah but it didn’t feel right. This would be the fifth time I’d been near him let alone speak to him, so it just felt wrong. But he must’ve been thinking the same thing.
“It’s not Paul’s fault.”
“What?” I asked, looking at him. He was staring intensely into the road, it was weird, it felt like Sam was effortlessly the comforting older brother figure Mike had tried to be. Yet he seemed guilty like he’d made a mistake, not know but before.
“I told him to stay away from you, it was my fault. He had no choice.” I decided to listen, to make sense of what he was saying. “There’s somethings you need to know, do you remember Emily?” I nodded, unable to speak in fear he’d stop speaking. “I’ll write her address down for you, visit any time and she’ll help you.” How cryptic could one person be.
“Why did Paul listen to you?” I questioned, staring at him. His dark brown hair was swooped back so he could see the road.
“He had no choice, you’ll understand.”
“I don’t understand anything.” He laughed.
“You will.” He pulled over and stopped driving, we’d reached my house. He pulled a notebook from the glove compartment. “Here’s her address and my number if you need a ride.”
“I can get Bella to drive me.”
“No, Bella can’t know about this, it doesn’t involve her. I’m sorry but you must trust me.”
“I tell Bella everything.” I said, taking the sheet of paper from him.
“But does she tell you everything?” he asked, his tone wasn’t accusatory like Quil’s had been, no, Sam asked me like he was genuinely worried about me. He was right, I knew Bella wasn’t telling me something. I couldn’t ask, hoping she’d finally tell me.
“I guess this means don’t tell Jake or… Quil.” He nodded, I got out of the truck, thanking him for the ride.
“You hike a lot, right?” It was my turn to nod. “Take a break for a while, with all those attacks it really isn’t safe.” I agreed, sadly, and went inside, after thanking him again for the ride. “Ever need a lift, just let me know, I’ll sort one out for you.”
I was glad it was summer break. All my free time had been spent on art: painting, sketching, and avoiding literally everything else. I’d been missing all of Bella’s calls and thankfully when she came over to my house I was working. Sam had been giving me lifts to work since I normally did a small hike there. I worked on the other side of Forks at a plant shop and nowhere near Bella. Whatever she was hiding from me had been eating away at me for a while. Summer break had also given me an escape from running into Jess, I loved her, but I had literally no answers for her. And the theories I had were so bat-shit crazy I had feeling no one would believe them.
Quil had called seventeen times. I couldn’t call him back, still angry at the way he spoke to me. Maybe he was right about Paul, but a small voice in the back of my head I’d nicknamed ‘stupid consciousness’ told me I should give Paul a fair chance and listen to Sam. Maybe it was some crazy mastermind ploy to pull down my defences, but id started to befriend Sam, and Emily as she’d joined him a few times to take me to work. I couldn’t figure out why they’d decided to help me out suddenly, but I decided to just go with it, I felt safer, loved and they never brought up Paul.
8:30am on a Tuesday morning I sat in the garden waiting for Sam. My headphones blasting Noah Kahan’s new album. It was chiller then it would be for this time of year, so a loose fleece hung around my body. We had another month of beautiful sun until the constant hood of clouds and rain returned to Forks. I had started worrying this morning that Sam driving me to and from work was an inconvenience, I hadn’t been insecure about this before, but it was daunting on me now. What if I was just pushing him out of his way and annoying him? Annoying Emily? I felt suddenly sick. But the truck in front of me pulled me out of the haze. Sam’s brotherly grin made me smile, my older brother was away at college, and I missed him. He opened my door form his side and I got in, the fear of inconvenience looming over me. Taking off my headphones I heard the soft folk music playing form the old truck. It was a twenty-minute drive to my work; we made nice conversation till Sam said something that struck me.
“Come to Ems tonight, I’ll finally explain it to you.” Weeks had passed since Sam initially asked me, it was clear I didn’t want to ask, so he’d decided to tell me. I nodded, silently looking out the window. Five minutes till we got there.
“Will he be there?”
“Yes.” He was short, sweet, and blunt. I knew I couldn’t hide from this, so I decided to ask what had been looming over me all morning.
“Why do you drive me? You work on the res; this is completely out of your way.” I still held my gaze out of the window. But I heard him grin as he told me.
“Well, I like your company, I always wanted a baby sister,” I scoffed at ‘baby’ which he caught and laughed, “plus it really is not safe if you walk to work, you walk through the bush, it isn’t safe.” His tone was serious at the end. I knew he was telling the truth. When we arrived, he looked over at me, smiling he passed me a brown bag. Holding back a laugh he told me “Em’s worried you aren’t eating enough”.
“She does know I’m an adult right?” I laughed, taking the bag.
“Well do you have any lunch today?” the silence from me made him laugh as I clearly did not, infact, have lunch. I threw a piece of card from the car door at him as I mumbled in protest.
“Pick me up at four?” I asked, putting the brown bag in my own. He nodded, as he drove away, I realised how long today was going to be.
I was right. So annoyingly, right. The day dragged, it felt that five hours had passed when in fact it was only two and I couldn’t even go for my lunch yet. If one more old lady asked me to point her in the direction of the roses, I was going to lose my mind. Not only was it weird that roses were extremely popular among old ladies but that they couldn’t see that the roses were at the front of the store, they were the first things you saw as you walked in.
At 1:25pm I heard a familiar gruff voice echo in the small shop. Charlie Swan. I was praying he was talking to a friend, or that there had been a horrible crime and the shop was under investigation. But as I heard a small, feminine voice I knew I wouldn’t have such luck. Of course, when I was working Chief Swan would decide to finally re-do his front garden. My lunch break was in five minutes if I could just hide here then my 60-year-old co-worker Henry would serve them. Henry was a true one, he’d help me in my hour of need. I hid behind the seeds, staring at Iris in its many forms as I heard Bella ask Henry if I was working too, I wasn’t sure if Henry and I had some super cool intuition or if he had genuinely forgotten I was working as he told her I wasn’t today. As I snuck away for my lunch break, I internally praised Henry for being the best co-worker that has ever lived.
Checking my phone, I noticed a missed call from Sam and a text.
“Can’t pick you up, Em is going to, she’ll be using her truck- its blue same make as Bella’s. Will be there when you arrive. Sorry.”
As weird as that was, I was just thankful I had a ride, I didn’t trust Henry behind the wheel.
The afternoon had passed quicker than the morning, the lunch Emily had made me was embarrassingly good and oddly comforting. As I finished my shift I gave Henry a fist bump, he laughed the way old people do, as a reflex showing that they’ve been laughing all their life. Emily’s blue truck pulled up; it had a better paint job then Sam’s but I had a feeling Sam worked on her truck more than his own.
“How was your day?” Em gleamed as I got into the car.
“Dull but the lunch was amazing, thank you.” I laughed as she grinned like a fool.
“I knew you’d like it! Paul told me you were vegetarian, and I’ve been dying to pull out those veggie cookbooks! The boys always avoid vegetables, it’s ridiculous!” she laughed as I wound the window down, warm air sifting through. My fleece cocooned in my bag form this morning, abandoned in the heat. I smiled, feeling warm at the casual mentioning of Paul. I’d assumed Sam’s business was something to do with work and that it wasn’t my business but at Em’s odd avoidance of it, something felt different.
I’d told her about Henry and Bella, talking more about Henry then Bella, Em laughed so hard she coughed. Pulling up to her house, I was shocked. It was beautiful. When we got out, I stared at the cabin, two stories and covered in flowers and plants. Wooden furniture, big windows, and open doors. It was beautiful. Em pulled me in, it was even more perfect inside. Bright colours and paintings everywhere. Sitting at a round, wooden table Em beckoned me to join her.
“Your home is… wow just amazing,” I was still looking at everything, the open kitchen and dining room was so homely and comforting. She smiled and grabbed my hand.
Emily was one of the most beautiful people I had ever seen. The scar on her face to her arm didn’t change that. She was even more beautiful; she wore it proudly. When she smiled part of the scar creased at her eye. Her long black hair hung over her shoulders, bangs perfectly trimmed. My hair was almost as long as hers, but she had a few inches on me.
“How are you feeling?” her caring tone standing through.
“Nervous, I have no idea what is about to happen.”
She nodded, squeezing my hand. “I’ll be here the whole time, if you don’t want to be here at any moment just say and we’ll go, no questions asked.” She must’ve noticed the apprehension in my face. “Nothings going to hurt you, Sam and Paul have made sure of that.” I trusted her, more than I trusted the people I grew up with. I knew for certain there was something going on, that involved Paul and Sam, probably Jared and Embry too. Whatever it was I hoped it didn’t involve Quil and Jake too.
Voices came through the door behind us that led out to Emily’s extensive garden. Sam and Paul came in. Both shirtless and only wearing shorts. Which was weird but I guess they felt the heat more than Emily and I, Emily was wearing a stunning white sundress and I white pants and black shirt, my apron from work stuffed in my bag along side the fleece.
Paul looked at me, he looked horrible, dark bags under his eyes, and it looked as if he had to hold himself back from me. Not in a threatening way, not the relief in his eyes told me this was good, that I was safe. Sam rubbed my shoulder as he passed me to get to Emily. As they hugged and kissed, I saw Paul still watching me, turning back to him I saw the weight in his eyes.
“Are you joining us?” I asked him, an olive branch being thrown in his direction.
He took a moment to process what I asked then silently nodded and sat a chair away from me, which did hurt. But I ignored it and looked to Sam and Emily who had both sat back down. Emily’s hand was once again in mine, Paul looked with an odd… jealousy? Till his eyes trailed up my arm to my neck, where the necklace laid. I’d worn it every day since the beach that I didn’t even think about it anymore.
“So,” Sam started, “there are some things we have to tell you, but I think it’ll be easier if we show you then explain.” Emily’s head snapped to him as Pauls hung in shame. He smiled at her reassuringly and guided us all to the garden where Jared and Embry were talking. They both greeted me with a relaxed voice I was deeply confused as to what was going to happen.
Sam and Paul stood slightly in front of me, Emily’s grip tightened as she held onto my arm. Without warning Jared had… disappeared? And there was a wolf in his place. I looked in frozen shock to Embry who was grinning ear to ear and then his body contorted itself into another oversized wolf. Both started chasing each other and I couldn’t find it in myself to be scared. Instead, I found it hilarious, two boys had just turned into great big wolves, and I was worried about my friend not liking me anymore! All my problems felt so small as I watched them both. Emily pinched me, whipping my head to her in pain I asked her what’s wrong.
“What is wrong? What is wrong! They just shifted into wolves and you’re acting like it’s the most normal thing in the world!” She yelled, trying to grasp anything from me.
“Let’s go inside.” Sam said, leaving Embry and Jared to playfight in the garden. Emily dragged me in, I couldn’t stop watching them. Enamoured by how small it made my problems feel. Everything had been feeling so all-consuming as I experienced every little emotion, it was awesome to feel so insignificant.
“How familiar are you with the tribe’s history?” Sam asked, trying to read me as we sat back in Emily’s kitchen. I finally turned away from the wolves in the garden to face him.
It all hit me, everything Paul had told me growing up and Quil had been telling me before the beach. About the vampires, about the three bloodlines that became protectors. Quil was in that bloodline. So was Jake. Fuck.
“I know a fair bit.” I said. The next ten minutes were spent by Sam monologuing everything they knew so far but I could tell he was leaving something out. Something I knew that I knew. Paul or Quil must have mentioned it. After he had finished, I sat processing, knowing there was something else. The leaches. Was it just the one Sam had mentioned. Oh god. I dropped the glass of water I was holding, Paul caught it.
“The Cullen’s.” I breathed, looking at Sam and Paul in horror.
“You caught that quicker than I thought you would,” Sam laughed, “the treaty doesn’t allow us to tell people what they are.”
“I sat next to them in classes… Bella dated one!” silence. “She knew?” I was bewildered. She knew that Edward Cullen was an ancient old man murderer and dated him? What is wrong with her. I can’t judge her completely, as gross and weirdly necrophiliac as that is, I didn’t know her story. I’m glad Sam warned me that she wasn’t telling me everything.
“Does she know about you guys?” Sam shook his head.
“Only the people in this room, Jared and Embry and the tribe’s elders know. Its safer that way.” I nodded. Embry was 17. He must’ve been so scared.
Suddenly it hit me how cruel I’ve been to Paul; Sam had explained the gag order he’d put on Paul. Thinking about him, I knew there was something else, but I couldn’t help but just feel horrible for how I acted. The way I spoke about him to Quil, not meaning a single word but loving how good it made me feel. Without looking at him I let go of Emily’s hand and held his. He squeezed in and I could practically feel the smile radiating of him. I knew I shouldn’t feel too bad for how I acted; I didn’t know. But I wish I did. Sam explained lightly how his transformation was, how painful and terrified he was. I didn’t want to imagine a similar story leaving Paul’s mouth.
“I’m thankful you told me but why exactly are you telling me?” I asked, Paul stiffened, my thumb absent and idly ran circles around the back of hand as I stared at Sam. He shifted uneasily under my gaze. Which felt wrong, Sam was never uncomfortable. What was he avoiding? What am I forgetting?
A ring ran through the silent kitchen, and I dropped Paul’s hand to look at my phone. Jakes name read across the screen, which was weird. Jake never called me. He texted me when he was picking me up to come hang out and that was it. It’d been radio silence on both ends since I had that argument with Quil.
“Erm, I’m gonna get this.” I went outside to Emily’s front porch rather than the open garden.
“Jake?” I asked to the empty phone line.
“Hello?” He panted; his breaths disjointed.
“Jake what’s wrong?”
“I don’t know, something-” he was cut of by a pained groan. “Somethings wrong.” He sounded like a child, one who couldn’t understand the pain of a broken arm or where a relative had gone and why they wouldn’t come back.
“Jake? Is Quil there?”
“No, I just got back from the movies with Bella.” He screamed again. Then began pleading with me. I didn’t know what to do. Suddenly two wolves ran past me into the Woodline, I turned back to see Sam telling Paul and Emily something as he shifted into the clearly biggest wolf.
“Listen to me okay. Deep breaths Jake, help is coming. You just gotta keep calm. Please, okay?” I asked, figuring out what was going on. Jake was shifting. I was panicking and felt like crying at his screams of pain.
“How are you feeling?” a pained yell was all I got in reply, Emily came to the porch behind me and put a hand to my back, ‘keep going’ she mouthed.
“Focus on- Bella! Think of her okay. Bella she’s going to be an anchor for you. Think about her okay. What shirt was she wearing today?” I asked keeping my voice as calm and steady as I could.
“She was wearing-” another scream through gritted teeth.
“Focus.”
“a green jacket, and a white blouse.” I heard crashing through the call, Sam’s voice, more screaming. I hung up the phone. This was too much. Too soon. Emily’s hand ran up and down my back, I was breathing heavily. I only found out about this an hour ago, how was this happening to Jake? Bella had once called him “earthbound sun” and now all I was hearing was his screams of pain playing on repeat.
“Everything will be okay.” She whispered, taking me upstairs into a bedroom. The walls were wooden, and the large bed was plush, and it smelt of lavender when I sat on it. Emily leant in front of me, both my hands in hers as we breathed together, she must’ve gone threw this a few times now. I couldn’t even pinpoint why I was so worried. The idea of Jake or any of them making a mistake and Paul getting hurt was eating me up. As my eyes fell into Emily’s and my breathing matched hers, I remembered the last bit of the story Paul told me years ago.
We were 15, sat cross legged on his lawn. I was making daisy chains as he told the legends to me. He blushed as he mentioned imprinting. The two souls who were destined to meet brought together by fate. How the shifter devotes themselves to their imprint even at the cost of themselves. At the time we both couldn’t comprehend the power of it, we thought it was ludicrous. And it was, a complete lack of agency. But in a selfish way, it was fantastical. My breathing was normal, and Emily sat next to me.
“Did Paul… did he imprint on me?” I asked quietly, scared if I said it any louder id be ridiculed. Emily didn’t say anything, she just squeezed my hands gently.
“Why don’t you stay here tonight? I have some spare pyjamas; I can wash your uniform for tomorrow.” She asked, eyes searching my own. Nodding I waited as she left the room. She told me to start getting changed as she left, stripping down to my underwear I became oddly aware of how insane this was, but I trusted Emily. And I knew now, I was safe. She came in holding a brown tank top and white shorts, they were so soft as I put them on. I was still dazed as the panic left my system; every movement was a cloud in my mind.
“Would you like to join me?” she asked, as I lifted my head up in confusion she continued “I’m going to watch a film, we can watch it together, if you’d like.”
“I’d like that.” I replied, Emily put my clothes in the wash with some of her own and we got comfy on the sofa, I’d learnt the room with the lavender smelling bed was a guest room, and I was welcome to stay over whenever. Emily’s room was just down the hall. Her Gran had left her this house and she spent two years renovating it. She always made sure anyone was welcome here. I texted my parents to let them know I wouldn’t be home tonight, they told me to stay safe and call them if something is wrong. I was an adult, and I knew they liked knowing I was okay.
“Paul stays over most nights,” she said, braiding my hair, “but he sleeps on the couch. I can’t get him to take a room.” I was laying half on her chest half on her the sofa. I felt like a child. It was the most comforting experience of my life. We watched 2005 Pride and Prejudice. Laughing and swooning the whole time. We cried at the love in the film, the hand moments making us kick our feet, giggling. It was relaxing, to be with a friend. One that wasn’t hiding anything. I guess I would be the friend that was hiding something now to all my friends, to Jess, Bella, and Angela. But I couldn’t dwell on that. I told Emily about how I was feeling with Bella, and she told me about Leah, my stomach dropped when she told me Sam gave her that scar.
“I couldn’t be angry at him, what happened to him, to all the boys, it takes away their agency in emotional moments. I forgive him.” She told me, watching the film. Like this was second nature. Merely an afterthought. I knew I was safe here but was that just hysterics? Was I in danger and too naive to notice? No. Sam and Paul care for me. But Sam loves Emily? No. I reassure myself as I fall into a drowsy slumber as Emily ran her fingers through my hair. Sam can control it, so can Paul and Jared and Embry and Jake will be able to.
Warm arms lifted me, I felt the soft plush of the bed beneath me. I wanted to grab onto to the body holding me, my eyes wouldn’t open but I tried. A light chuckle sifted through the air as I finally let go.
A pink sunrise fell over me. I was drenched in the colours. Walking through the house I saw Paul, asleep on the sofa. The pink and purple began to fall onto him, he shifted awake as I made my way to the kitchen.
“Did I wake you?” I froze, looking at him through sleep festered eyes. He shook his head, smiling. We made coffee and cereal in silence, I the coffee and Paul the cereal. As we ate, I asked about Jake.
“He’s better now, the first shift is always the worst. What you did on the phone really helped.”
“All I did was keep him talking till you guys got there,” I said, finishing my cereal.
“He mentioned you called Bella an anchor, that helps more than you know.” He was looking at me intently. Suddenly I remembered my conversation with Emily last night.
“Paul…” Emily and Sam walked in, laughing with each other. I didn’t want to ask Paul with others around. He seemed brighter though, maybe he’d finally had a full night of sleep. Sleep, id fallen asleep with Emily on the couch and woken up in bed. Looking back at Paul, he was already watching me, waiting. “Did you take me to bed last night? You could’ve just woken me.” I laughed, trying to play off my feelings.
Sam laughed, sitting down with a coffee, “You were both sound asleep when we got back, no use waking you.” Emily looked at me, asking if id said anything, lightly shaking my head I pulled myself away from the conversation as they updated Emily on Jacob. From the window I saw the orange sun dance across the green summer leaves, sway through the crisp morning grass. The sun had risen by now, but the early morning was still prevalent in its colourful glory.
Sam called my name, pulling me out of my thoughts. “When do you start work?”
“9am,” I lied. Well, it wasn’t an actual lie, but I had decided I wasn’t going to go to work today, Henry had been telling me I need to take advantage of the paid sick days we get, so today I will. I need to process what the hell just happened. Alone. As much as I want to be here, I don’t know how much more I can handle. Sam had told us he hadn’t expected Jake to shift so soon and Quil’s grandfather has noticed he has a fever. It’s happening too fast and is still don’t really know why I am involved. Expect I do, which makes it so much worse. I would get dropped of at work, and then catch a bus to First Beach, which yes was counter intuitive, but it felt wrong to tell the people who immediately accepted me I didn’t want to be around them right now. I’d tell them id get a ride home from Henry and just walk back home. No, I shouldn’t walk. I promised Sam I wouldn’t walk. I’ll get the bus home or ask Bella as awkward as it might be.
Paul eyed me, brow furrowing. Sam and Emily didn’t notice but I couldn’t help feeling like Paul could read my mind. It feels weird being known so well. I sat with them for an hour or so before going to get a shower and then get dressed, Emily had layed my clothes on my bed while I was in the shower, and I suddenly felt insanely sick at the thought of lying to her.
Wandering back into the kitchen I saw Paul wearing worker pants that were just wow. I looked away before he caught my gaze. My heart beating in my throat.
“Where are you working?” I asked, he was looking for a job before all of this.
“Sam’s construction, he let Jared and I join after we shifted, he runs the business you know?” he said looking at my clothes. Wide legged white pants and black shirt, I was holding my apron, the ugly thing.
“Actually, Sam’s gone in early, so can I drive you to work?”
I nod, grabbing my bag and kissing Emily’s cheek goodbye as she started working on a wooden chair. Emily sold wooden furniture, I made sure to make note of that since my parents were looking at getting a new kitchen done. As we left, I noticed Sam had taken Emily’s truck and left his own for Paul. Fuckers had planned this.
“you’re a horrible liar, you know.” Paul said as we drove away from Emily’s. Is he psychic? “Sam told me you normally finish early on Wednesday’s, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Me too. I finish at 12, i'll pick you up and explain everything.” I decided to play dumb.
“I thought you explained everything?” his laugh echoed in the car.
“We both know you’re too smart to think that.” The conversation ended, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. Not the same feeling as when Sam drove me, this was new.
“You can meet Henry when you pick me up.” I added, laughing at the thought.
“Who?” Paul said, the familiar jealousy peaking in his voice.
“Oh, he’s a real catch, total ladies’ man. I have a conspiracy that we’re psychically linked.” I said nonchalantly, absolutely doing it on purpose.
“That’s cool.” He said, sharply. These three hours were gonna go smoothly.
And they did. I was so excited for Paul to come pick me up I was practically jumping the whole three-hour shift. Henry had been side eyeing me all day, possibly worried I was on drugs or something.
“So, Paul’s going to pick me up and I’d like for you to meet him.” I told Henry as we stocked the shelves, or as I stocked them, and he micromanaged me.
“Eh okay.” He grumbled, I smiled, excited.
As 12 came I was practically glued to the window. Seeing Sam’s truck pull up my chest had a weight lifted off that I didn’t know was there. Pauls stocky figure walked up to the front door, and I beckoned him over to where I stood.
“Where’s this Henry then?” he asked, trying to seem calm.
“This way!” he must’ve been taken back by my excitement as he gasped slightly as I dragged him to the back of the store. “Henry! This is Paul.”
I watched as Pauls deflated face turned quickly into annoyance and relief as he saw Henry, who looked him up and down, grumbled and asked him if he could pick up some boxes for him. Paul agreed, but it didn’t feel like he had much choice in the matter. After ten minutes of Paul moving boxes around for Henry, I finally got him away, saying goodbye we left the store.
“You minx.” He laughed, opening my door for me.
Laughing I asked him what he was talking about.
“All morning. All morning! I spent worrying some hot bachelor called Henry had stolen your heart! Jared was getting annoyed at how pissy I was acting!” he whined, driving to LaPush.
We made it to first beach without Paul ripping my head off from annoyance. I tried not to dwell too hard on his blatant admission to his jealousy. But it made my head spin.
But he went silent as we walked to the rocks on the southside of the beach. Whatever he was about to tell me was very serious, and I was ready to hear. As we sat down, he looked at the necklace I was wearing, the citrine he bought me.
“You know when I bought you that necklace, I had no idea how beautiful it was.” He said, slowly looking up into my eyes.
“What do you mean? The lady handed it to you, I saw you look down at it.” I asked, searching his eyes for whatever he was trying to tell me.
“What do you remember about imprinting?” he asked, his hand lightly holding onto mine, the other splayed against the rocks. He took me off guard which must be visible on my face as he laughed at my expression.
“I remember you telling me about the imprint who saved the tribe from the vampires by sacrificing herself.” It was a harrowing tale, one that even as children Paul and I treaded on lightly.
“Uh huh, anything else?” he probed.
“I know how the elders described the imprint to feel.” At his silence I continued “that the universe centres around them,” I was whispering to him now, “that it is a love of the souls, bonded and combined.” He nodded.
“Anything else?”
“Paul why are you asking me this?” dread filled me, what if he had imprinted on someone else, I would respect it and understand but telling me like this had to be some form of torture. Deep down I knew that wasn’t the case.
“I imprinted on you.” My head whirled. Everything else became singular as I looked at Paul Lahote who became a multitude. “I was scared I’d imprint on someone else, and it’d be me loosing my agency in life you know,” I did, it was what I was worried about. “But I imprinted on you, at the beach. And I’ve always been in love with you. When we were kids and you would always climb the highest tree, never scared if you fell. When we’d braid each other’s hair. It’s always been you, even the fates agree.” The wind was knocked out of his lungs as I practically jumped onto him. My arms around his neck, his around my waist.
I pulled away. Remembering how this conversation started. “What did you mean, when you said you didn’t know how beautiful the necklace was?”
“That’s the other thing, turns out when we shift for the first time, we go colourblind.”
“What?”
“Wolves, they are naturally colourblind, Sam thinks that’s why we lose it, Jared and I used to think it was just another way the fates could steal life from us.” I listened intently. “That was until Sam imprinted on Emily. He said it was the most overwhelming experience of his life, not only because of the horrible family drama but because it was the first time in months, he had seen colour. We realised then that the only way we could see truly again was when we imprinted. You have to understand how terrifying it was after we’d first shifted, I thought I was dying” He took a deep, steadying breath. “After I first shifted you sent me a picture, do you remember?”
“Not really.” I admitted.
“It was of that cloud with the colours on it.” I nodded, remembering. It was a pileus cloud I’d seen in my back garden; he pulled out his phone. Scrolling sheepishly past the texts from him asking to talk to me and then texts from me, begging for an answer. He landed on a picture I sent, on the pileus cloud, they have colours sitting on them, rainbows laying on the soft clouds of the sky. Had I been taking my sight for granted? Spending my whole life gazing while he had it stolen from him?
“I cried for hours when you sent me this, I couldn’t see it, Sam had told me to cut off all contact with you and all I needed was you to- I don’t know- explain the colours to me since I couldn’t see them.” He breathed heavily; I could see the anger weighing on his shoulders once more. I didn’t interrupt him, just placed a hand on his thigh as an attempt to soothe. He smiled gently at this, still looking at the cloud. “It was two days after I’d shifted for the first time, and I was always so overwhelmed. I kept snapping and shifting in a fit of rage.”
As he waited for a response from me, I finally formed a semi-coherent sentence.
“I would’ve done the same. I can’t imagine how it- losing that- I’m so sorry.”
“Don’t be. If it’s anyone’s fault it’s those bloodsuckers.” He laughed. Smiling at me. We spoke for what felt like hours, it probably was but I didn’t mind. “I’m sorry to unload all of this onto you. I didn’t want to drag you into it, but you have to realise you call the shots, all you.”
“Is this why Sam didn’t pick me up yesterday?” I asked, remembering the hasty text Sam had sent me yesterday afternoon.
“Yeah,” he blushed, “I got angry at him, and he spent the whole day trying to convince me.”
“Couldn’t he just demand it?” the authority Sam had over the boys couldn’t be questioned, but it was a natural thing to him I felt it too.
“Yeah, but I know that he wanted me to make the choice, you’re my imprint after all.” He smiled, putting a hair behind my ear.
The sun had begun to set when Paul and I stopped talking, we’d spoke for hours. Catching up on each other’s lives, I told him about my fight with Quil and how I was feeling about Bella, and he listened. He told me about his dad, who’d decided to go work down south for a few months, leaving Paul the house to himself. That even though he gets the entire one-story building to himself he prefers to stay at Emily’s, he’d always hated being alone. He watched the sun set and I watched him. How it reflected on his clear skin, how his short hair was growing back. He’d explained that they’d all cut their hair after their first shift as to now only be practical but because they were grieving, grieving themselves. Paul was growing his hair again, determined to have a piece of himself back again, the hair length only mattered on the first few shifts. No one was sure why.
Going back to Sam’s truck I hold onto Paul’s hand, pulling him to a stop halfway across the beach. Getting closer to him I felt the warmth radiate from him, he couldn’t help but become the sun. The confused look on his face amused me, as I pulled him in and kissed him. His hand let go of mine as he wove his arms around my waist. My hands going to his back and his hair. He didn’t drive back to Emily’s. We spent the night in his house, the blue walls of his bedroom were known better than my own. Making out on his bed I sat on his lap, pulling his shirt of and then my own he grinned up at me.
“You’re so beautiful.” I didn’t say anything as I unhooked my bra, his jaw dropped slightly, and I blushed. He pulled his own jeans off and then switched our positions, so I was on my back as he took my white trousers of, discarding them somewhere in the room. I felt his lips on mine again which stopped me from staring at his well-defined chest, my hands felt him completely. I reached into his boxers as he whined slightly into my mouth at my slow and teasing actions.
“Don’t play with me.” He whispered into my ears as he ripped his boxers off, slowly taking my underwear off. As I felt him align himself, I looked into his eyes, seeing nothing but love.
Three weeks had passed since I found out about Paul’s imprint. Summer had begun to spread itself thinly and form into fall. I’d spoken to Quil, but he could tell I was hiding something. Especially since Jake had abandoned him without word and so did I. I knew he wanted to be apart of whatever was going on, but we all hoped he would never have to know, never feel the pain they all went through.
I spent most nights at Emily’s and some at Pauls but few and few at home. I wasn’t sure why my parents trusted my choices so much, but I figured they trusted Paul and I’d been a well-behaved teen. They did, however, begin to question why Bella Swan was constantly coming over asking for me. I couldn’t tell her. I still wasn’t over her not telling me anything. But Jake had ghosted her, just after I did. After the Cullen did. She had other friends, but it felt like a really shitty thing to do, I knew if I saw her, I’d just tell her everything. Even if she wouldn’t do the same for me.
I was at Emily’s when Embry, Jared, and Bella Swan herself came into the kitchen. She looked at me in shock and I gestured to the seat beside me, she shook her head. As Emily and I were informed on how Bella found herself in this predicament I laughed at the thought of Jake and Paul fighting, it didn’t surprise me. But I was shocked at Bella slapping him, she defended herself explaining she was angry and didn’t know we’d made up at this point. She didn’t know much. Jared told her that the pack was faster and better than the leaches, Bella seemed to feel more comfortable.
Sam, Jake, and Paul came into the house, Bella seemed to stow herself away in the corner. Her face went bright red after Paul apologised to her and kissed me, Sam complimented how well she took seeing two men turn into wolves in front of her and she laughed it off.
“How are you feeling?” Paul asked as I climbed into bed beside him.
“Tired, Bella gave me a hard time about me ignoring her, she’s right I guess.” Facing him in bed I tried to savour how the moon bounced off him. How he seemed to glow in the blue moonlight. He disagreed, but I knew Paul was biased he’d never really trusted Bella.
“What about Quil have you made up your mind on what you’re going to do?” He asked, kissing my nose as he pulled me to his chest.
“I’m going to go to his house tomorrow. I can’t tell him anything, but I need him to know I’m still his friend and I still love him. He’s one of my closest friends, his love is tough but its true you know?”
“I know.”
“How are you feeling?”
“everything’s getting calmer, but the red leech is still circling, these hikers need to learn to stay on the trail for their own sake.” He laughed; it wasn’t a happy laugh but an exhausted one. “Plus, Quil really might shift soon, I’m not sure how I feel about you going to see him in person.”
“I’ll be okay.”
“Doesn’t make me worry any less.” He was holding me so close, our legs intertwined.
“He knows me better than anyone, which is scary but I won’t talk to him about the fight it doesn’t matter to me anymore. I can’t not have him in my life, it feels so good to be known so well. And not in the way you know me,” I clarified, “he knows me in a way that is tried and true, its not as intimate as how you know me, Quil challenges me, I challenge him. I can’t stand ignoring him.”
Paul nodded, he understood. He just hoped he didn’t shift in front of me.
“I love you.” He whispered into my hair.
“I love you more.” I whispered back, falling into a perfect sleep.
“Are you happy being with Paul?” Quil asked, grey hoodie swamping his tall figure.
“Yes.” I replied, arms crossed over my chest.
“I’m not surprised.” He sighed. Then, crossing the front room he looked out of his front window. “You really hurt me, you know.”
“I know.”
“And you can’t even tell me why!”
“I’m sorry.”
“You, Embry and Jake can’t tell me a single thing!” he yelled, still not looking at me. I had prepared for this, for him to hate me. I just didn’t expect it to feel so horrible.
“I’m sorry, Quil, I really am.” He looked at me, eyes desperate.
“I’ve missed you.” He whispered. Tears in my eyes I ran to him, colliding with his chest we both cried on each other. “Remember we’re not keeping score, no arguments-”
“No winners.” I finished; we didn’t keep score.
As he pulled away, we both wiped at the tears streaming down our faces.
“Lahote? Really?” he laughed; I punched him in the arm. “Ow! Okay, okay.”
For now, everything was okay. I could handle okay.

Hand on heart ( Jake Seresin x Singlemom!Reader) part 4

summary : this is not like him to show up at a woman's door like this but jake been discovering that he is doing a lot of new things only for another thing that tells him to stay away arises . mav is hating keeping something so big from peach and the girls go out and suddenly jake doing another new thing by crashing girls night .
warning : fluffy , goofy , a little sprinkle of angst but not much like blink and you miss it (like peach is missing belle )
previous part
It was strange , coming home to an empty and oh so quiet house . it was strange going out on her own to a bar but her new friends done a great job to cheer her up even if she left and was home by 10 pm with the promise to stay longer following night . Showered and cleaning to fill the void not really knowing what to do with herself . Hearing a knock on the door she fully expect it to be nat since the female aviator asked her couple time was she okay when she was saying goodbye to the group, what she didn’t expect was jake seresin to be standing at her door with pizza and beers in his hand . More so since last time she saw him that night he was currently wrapped up with a girl at the bar when she called goodbye to him and penny before she left .
“Thought you would be in some woman sheets by now “ she teased .
“ well i rather annoy you instead blueberry “ he chuckled making his way into her home and down into the kitchen , before returning with the pizza and two beers.
“ sure scrabble make yourself at home “ she rolled her eyes taking the beer from his hands as well as the remote . “ i’ll pick the movie “ she smirked .
This wasn’t like him , not even in the realms of possibilities that jake would find himself turning down chance of sex to hang out with a friend . Even if the friend was a beautiful young southern woman that could cook meal that made him feel like he was home or keep him up with his teasing but hey stranger things has happened right ? . like he was now friend with rooster that was something that once seemed impossible . what was more crazy was how easy it was for him , not a single thought or hesitation crossed his mind to leave and come here , ignoring his friends looks when he grabbed his thing or the woman calling him as he walked out of the hard deck . the nervous feeling he had as he walked to her door . this was all new to the blonde , even scary in a way but sitting and seeing her at his side made it all worth it . he could get used to this , but not in the way he suddenly wanted . the new feelings bubbling inside of him so fast and sudden he wasn’t even able to pinpoint when it happened or maybe he could just wouldn’t admit it to himself . “it’s just a new face” he told himself trying to convince himself thats what it was and it would pass soon .
The morning when woke rolling over like a reflex checking the monitor only to remember her stupid caring brother and sister in law had her sweet yet crazy baby . like clockwork that same knocking pattern she was starting to recognise as she yawned , stretch padding down the hall opening the door to jake seresin once more coffee in his hand as she was rubbing sleep from her eyes .
“ morning watermelon “ he called following her to the kitchen .
“ morning boggle “ she took the coffee throwing the birds nest that was her hair into a bun . “ no food does that mean i get to make us something “ she asked excitedly.
“ or you can get changed and i can we can get food and carpool it to work “ he suggested knowing if he had more of that food he was a goner .
“ or i can make us breakfast and we can carpool it to the base “ she counter already pulling everything out so she was more so telling him what was happening . “ wait i wanna ring my brother first wanna say hi to belle?” she asked holding her phone.
“ course i do what kind of questions that “ he rolled his eyes he wasn’t lying either it felt strange walking not hearing the little feet coming down the hall a similar birds nest in of bed head. She sat close to him on the island propping her phone up by the coffee he brought as they watched it ring as her brothers face finally popped up on the screen and suddenly jake was wishing he said no.
“ hey was waiting for this ca… hangman? “ benny eyes looked straight at jake .
“ hey shit king that you” he laughed nervously.
“ y’all know each other “ she looked between the man and phone .
“ we were at the academy together … why you in my baby sisters place” he quirk a brown .
“ he’s one of my new friends and coworkers i was telling you about … wheres my child benny “
“ hey missy moo mama is looking for you .. hangman we gotta catch up when i come up there”
“ yeah you can shhh … hey baby girl hope your giving benny boo hard time “ she cooed as the toddler started grabbing the phone babbling back .
“ mama , jake “ she laughed looking to her uncle.
“ so thats the jake … whose roo?” he asked rooster.
“ bradshaw” jake rolled his eyes .
“ do you know all the dagger squad” her head tilted.
“ yesh squad “ belle cheered clapping as they laughed and copied .
“ i guess miss belle answered that “ she snorted as he brother nodded in agreement. “ shit checkers you could of told me” she turned to jake .
“ i didn’t know did i grapefruit “ he shot back .
“These fruits of your are getting rounder and bigger trying tell me something “ she teased .
“ am i missing something” her brother called.
“ he calls me every fruit but peach and i call him every game but hangman “ she explained .
“ your friends ?” he arched his brow.
“ yup and carpool buddies this morning , how was belle last night ?” she asked changing the subject and jake couldn’t be more thankful cause of course this would get worse for him to find out his best buddy from the academy was her brother. Maybe he could just take off during test flight and keep going no looking back . he smiled and answered question both belle and benny shot his way off til she wave and blew kisses . happier and more awake singing along with the radio as she made them both breakfast . “maybe going awol isn’t so bad” internally groaned .wondering how and why this decided to happen to him .
The drive wasn’t really too bad he found himself actually interested in her talking , in the stories she had to tell like he wanted to know about people he’s never heard or how she manage to break both her leg and arm one summer when she was 12 . how her singing along to the radio wasn’t as irritating as when rooster did it . maybe this was his version of midlife crisis total opposite to other men but he’s never been like other men , maybe his midlife crisis was getting his shit together . in hindsight it was about time to do that he wasn’t getting any younger that was for sure . he was 38 fast approaching 40 and he was still doing the same thing he was since in his twenties . now here he was laughing at her dancing and singing as they pulled into the parking lot just in like everyone else even javy was quirking a brow as she wave to the group , quickly changing their tune to great the happy peach .
“ so you and hangman … carpooled “ rooster asked looking between them .
“ yeah … why you saying it like that even my brother said it like that when he saw jake also how come you shits never told me you knew my brother “ she looked around the group .
“ benny “ king” l/n “ jake spoke up .
“ oh shit how hell did we not connect those dots “
“ is it true he got his call sign for a being smart ass “ she asked.
“ you mean when he complain during about a deployment about how uncomfortable everything was , commanding officer asked if he thought he was king of england your brother reply was well if get more padding in these chair than i can be so callsign king was born “ javy cracked up explaining as the others laughed.
“ he told my grandmama that it was cause he sang stand by me so well we got real story out of him because he maybe good in something but singing aint one of em “ she shook her head.
“ jesus this world isn’t so big after all “ rooster laughed as they headed in she gave big wave to mav and cyclone passing .
“ you gonna tell her?” mav asked watching her laugh and smile not care in the world totally oblivious to the news.
“ i will at some point why are you up my ass about this you barely know her” beau scoff getting told to do right thing by pete mitchell of all people .
“ can follow code and conduct with stick up your ass but when it comes to the real world you back out … shit we both know why you should do it so stop deflecting “ .
“ i tell her she leaves and she never forgives me “ he sighed .
“ or she give you a chance because even if barely know her i know she not the type to up and leave when things go sideways , she went through shit and came out other side strong and determined but we both know longer your prolong it well your only going to make this so much worse , she deserves to know your her father shit don’t you think peach deserves the truth ” mav finally said .
“ i’ll tell her , but we still don’t know if she is “ beau finally said .
“ i think you do and your just afraid to admit that to yourself “ Mav said as he headed off into the hanger .
Hating it , hating how he had to see that cheer filled face and knowing what he knew was his own personal torture , universe still not done putting the underdog through the ringer . new to the team or not he was going to make sure he was there for her .
“ why do you keep looking at me like that “ she laughed full of cheer and sunshine like always and one day that was going to dim was a day he was dreading .
“ like what … you know i hear that phrase a lot and no one ever explains what this look is “ .
“Well before you got a trouble maker but hey i ain’t judging my grandma told me i got the same look but you look at me like those shelter dog commercial i’m fully expect like does in the arms of an angel play in your head or something “ she snorted .
“ nah i guess i just admire you kid got shit end of stick and keep pushing it so no i’m not looking at you all sad and if i am i think it’s cause see little of myself in you the trouble maker with the world not really on your side sometimes “ he smiled.
“ well look at me the way you did before you found out i came from broken home captain “ she rolled her eyes patting his shoulder as he laughed.
“ make it habit of bossing people around huh ?”
“ oh i apparently came out the womb doing it why i won’t join the navy i’d be too damn good “ she cackled rest laughed along.
“ peach my dear never change ?”
“ ain’t planning on it sir “
“ promise ?” he tip his head to the side .
“ promise captain “ she held up her pinky as he chuckle wrapping his in hers .
“ my brother is coming monday could i bring him here , he’s hoping to move down this way guess texas aint same without me pestering him “ she smiled.
“ course we will give him the five star tour” he ruffled her hair .
“ hey Mav when you finished trying to adopt another parentless adult could we get started please” rooster called teasing tone to his words .

Problems with "The Search" Comic
Retconning Ursa's backstory
Some old lore about Ursa, before the comic came out.
Admittedly, this page conflates "royalty" with "nobility," which extends to Mai and Onji's page.
Contrast these excerpts to the Search. (SPOILERS AHEAD! And Long!)
"Born to Fire Nation royalty [nobility] and - raised as such."
Search! Ursa: Her family went into hiding after Roku's death. She grew up as a commoner in Hira'a - a small, remote 'backwater village' located on the far edge of the Fire Nation. Her father, Jinzuk worked as the town's magistrate, and her mother, Rina was a master herbalist. Her mother is the daughter of Avatar Roku and has his headpiece in her possession.
"She was the perfect match for Prince Ozai and soon became his wife"
Search! Ursa: Azulon and Ozai track down Avatar Roku's (supposedly remaining) descendants and possibly monitor them for months. They (forcibly) propose a union between Ursa and Ozai for eugenics purposes.
In a nutshell, her relation to Avatar Roku is enough to qualify her as the perfect match.
"There was a time when it probably wasn't such a bad marriage. I think they probably started okay. Certainly better than it ended up."
Search! Ursa: She didn't want to marry Ozai, she wanted to marry her one true love, Ikem but she didn't get much of a say. And come the wedding, Ozai drops a massive bombshell on her.
In short, it starts out as a bad marriage, to put it mildly.
Someone on TV tropes (Fridge Horror section. Be Warned!) posited that "started out okay" can mean anything. And that "okay" doesn't mean happy or willing.
To that I say, it's a massive stretch to claim this scene is equivalent to "started out okay." Okay is not another word for utterly miserable! Words similar to okay can range from alright, pleasant, acceptable or tolerable. So, "started out okay" and the conveniently ignored "better than it ended up" doesn't apply to the Search.
"She is a very sweet woman and a wonderful mother, but she is also very protective -- especially of her favorite child Zuko" ... "Ursa spent most of her time raising her children to be good Fire Nation citizens and the ideal royal family."
Search! Ursa: The comics intentionally or unintentionally avoid portraying Ursa as an imperialist but don't contradict that she taught Zuko and Azula Fire Nation Propaganda offscreen.
She didn't seem to care about being the "ideal royal" herself, privately at least.
For instance, she writes that infamous letter falsely citing Ikem as Zuko's father to spite Ozai among other reasons. Most damningly, she sees her life in the palace as "a life that [she] did not choose for herself," leading to the infamous memory wipe. Both examples have attracted critics, hence the "infamous" connotation, and arguably butcher her 'protective mother' characterisation.
Zuko Alone Ursa: Zuko. That's what moms are like. If you mess with their babies, humph, they're gonna bite you back! [Later on] Ursa: Zuko, please, my love, listen to me. Everything I've done, I've done to protect you. Remember this, Zuko. No matter how things may seem to change, never forget who you are. DoBS pt 2Ozai: My father, Fire Lord Azulon, had commanded me to do the unthinkable to you, my own son, and I was going to do it. Your mother found out and swore she would protect you at any cost. She knew I wanted the throne and she proposed a plan, a plan in which I would become Fire Lord and your life would be spared. [Later] Your mother did vicious, treasonous things that night. She knew the consequences and accepted them. For her treason, she was banished. "She (Ursa) kind of saved Zuko's life by doing something not very nice to Fire Lord Azulon" ~ Mike "Ursa mysteriously disappeared on the same night as Fire Lord Azulon's death. Some say that she was somehow involved in Fire Lord Azulon's death -- and that she did it to protect Zuko. But the truth is not known."
Search! Ursa: Despite these quotes stressing her role in Azulon's death and clearly implying that she murdered him, that role is given to Ozai. Instead, Search! Ursa merely makes the plan and a deadly poison, all because the writers didn't want her hands dirty.
Is it just me or is this scene so rushed? What happened to the "swore she would protect you at any cost" line?
Why does she assume she'll get to take her children, even though they are his heirs?
And then there's Ozai's response: he calls them, his collateral and has no problem referring to them as your children. He even threatens their lives, along with Ursa's, if she doesn’t keep her word.
Aside from how stupid it is for him to say that, it begs the question of why he didn't kill Ursa afterwards? He just lets her walk free when she's a loose end to him. Plot hole much!
So, Ursa's mum taught her how to make that poison - okay, in the vein of "what kind of mother forgets her children", what kind of mother teaches her daughter how to make an extremely deadly poison? Literally, no one talks about that!
