I laugh how Metropolis roughly three hours away from Smallville and yet everyone in the show leaves in Smallville and work in Metropolis.

For every besides Clark, they must love those six hours.

Distance means nothing in this show.

tv shows NEED to have 22 episode seasons with filler eps that range from "good and fun!" to "ohhh my god ur wasting my time get back to the plot!!" and be kinda shitty and low budget but full of heart on a network hanging together by shoe-strings and duct tape, is the thing. and they need to air week-by-week over the course of like 6 months to build suspense and engaging, invested fandoms. kids these days with their netflix-8-episode-binge-in-a-day streaming shows don't Know

Smallville’s Clark and Lois is like startled meeting followed by irritation (affectionate) for each other, to friends (the kind that you can count on but don’t always talk to everyday), to best friends (the kind you can still count on like before but you do talk to almost every day now), to the best friends who are now coworkers whose banter has carried over from when they were irritated with each other (affectionately) but now with some flirty undertones, to the best friends who are coworkers who now sit across from a shared desk from one another and steal glances across typewriters or computer screens or notepads and wonder what if…what if I…what if we….and then they both see it in each other’s eyes, but don’t want to admit it because so many years ago (seasons ago) they were the startled meeting irritating kind of friends you could count on and now they’re in this place of thinking what if and knowing the other is thinking what if we and they’ve both been so heartbroken in the past and they are the best of friends now and…

But the we…the what if we…has too solid a foundation to be ignored…and so they then start…they start on the path that will lead them both to being the icons separately and together…to both of them being super…

If I had a nickel for every time I developed a bitter hatred for a fictional character that showed up in a story beefing with my problematic fav, partly because it was revealed they used to bully my fav when they were teenagers and as an adult they show little to no remorse for their past behavior and even use my fav's current "problematic" nature as justification while claiming to be a good guy. I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

Round 3: Smallville vs Riverdale

Smallville: An interpretation of the Superman story features young Clark Kent coming to grips with his emerging superpowers. He must hide his abilities from his friends, including Lana Lang, the girl of his dreams, and Lex Luthor, who will one day become Superman's nemesis. Complicating matters is the presence of kryptonite throughout Smallville, which causes strange mutations in locals and cripples Clark.

Riverdale: Archie Andrews starts the school year with the world weighing on his shoulders. He's decided he wants to pursue a future in the music business, but his recently ended clandestine relationship with the music teacher has left him without a mentor, and his friendship with Jughead Jones is in a bad place. Things look like they might be turning around when Veronica Lodge, a new girl, arrives. Despite the instant chemistry, Veronica is hesitant to risk a friendship with Betty -- who has a crush on Archie -- to pursue anything.
