Hi! I finally started my Grimoire, and just wrote my first original spell! I am going to do it tomorrow, as I’m getting the moon water ready tonight. What do you think? :>
Banish negative energy from travel!
Tools: Scissors, (moon, pink salt, or sea salt) water, string, and tape
Steps:
Tape string across doorway
Wet string with water
Infuse string with intentions (Optionally by saying aloud “Let this string hold the ill intentions of the outside on the left, and the protection of this home on the right” and wave the scissors on either side as said)
Take deep breaths, and cut the string in half
Bury the left side of the string (as well as the tape), in your backyard, and keep the right side in a frequently-visited room of your home
“So mote it be” and return the scissors
Ta-da! No more negative outside energy!
(p.s. I thought I’d use the scissors as a sort of wand in this spell! :> )

Money Bowl & Money / Abundance Mix
Tumblr media
↑ Picture of my first money bowl.
Money bowls are a staple in many different practices, the idea being that you cram a bunch of stuff into a bowl to draw money, prosperity, and abundance to you.
Disclaimer: This information is compiled from my own correspondences and what works for me.

My Money Bowl Contents: (Do not repost)
NOTE: Not all of the contents of the bowl are listed here. These are what I’m comfortable sharing.
The bowl itself is a repurposed WalMart candle glass. I’m not terribly happy with it, and will likely change it up in the future if I find a more suitable / appropriate container. Or I’ll draw or paint or otherwise modify it’s appearance, I dunno.
It holds, in no particular order:
Old money poppet I made years ago from old pj pants. Used to keep him in my purse, but I felt he’d serve me better here.
Green felt & twine spell pouch w/ money mixture in it
3 pieces of green sea glass
An old money protection tealight
Sand dollar
$1 in quarters
3 tiiiiiny pieces of citrine
3 whole allspice
9 whole cloves
2 green spiral seashells
1 white spiral seashell with brown dots
3 roasted & salted sunflower seeds
4 pumpkin seeds
1 acorn
3 cowrie shells
2 cinnamon sticks
1 bayleaf
Typically, I also have petitions, spell bags, and $1-$20 bills in it as well.
Money / Abundance Mixture: (Do not repost)
Originally, this served as the base of the money bowl, which I would set the above mentioned items upon. I disliked that the above items became covered in glitter and ginger powder, so I separated the mixture and put it in a jar. I use it in workings to bring abundance and money.
Listed alphabetically:
Basil
Beans
Catnip
Eucalyptus
Gold Glitter
Ground Cinnamon
Ground Cloves
Ground Ginger
Ground Nutmeg
Quick Oats (Oatmeal)
Pumpkin Pie Spice
Roasted & Salted Sunflower Seeds
Rosemary
Sea Salt
Silver Glitter
Thyme
White Rice
You can add / leave out what you wish. I don’t have exact measurements, sorry! This mixture is not edible and should not be made into anything that will be consumed or ingested.
Do not repost any of my spells, curses, etc. Reblogs are OK.

Website | Apple Podcasts | Spotify
Opens with a then-recent clip of misinformation about curing coronavirus. Talks a bit about social distancing and Covened witches having to experience solitary witchcraft. Many witches are feeling burned out or isolated; it’s okay if you aren’t able to keep up witchy practices. Encourages smaller practices like nature walks. All witches go through phases like this.

Witchcraft and Self-Care: Nurturing Your Mind, Body, and Spirit
Witchcraft is not just a craft; it's a path that intertwines with our daily lives. Amid the spells and rituals, it's vital to remember that self-care is a cornerstone of our practice. By nurturing our minds, bodies, and spirits, we empower ourselves to be more effective witches and resilient individuals.
In this blog post, we'll delve into "Witchcraft and Self-Care: Nurturing Your Mind, Body, and Spirit," exploring the importance of self-care and suggesting rituals and practices to help you flourish on your magical journey.
🌟✨
1. Grounding and Centering 🌳🌌
Start your self-care journey with grounding and centering. Take a moment each day to connect with the Earth. Stand barefoot on the ground, feeling the energy of the Earth rise through you. Meditate, visualize roots extending from your body into the soil, anchoring you to the Earth's nurturing energy.
2. Daily Affirmations 🧘‍♀️🌟
Affirmations are powerful tools for nurturing a positive mindset. Each morning, recite affirmations that align with your intentions. These affirmations reinforce your sense of self-worth, strength, and resilience. For example, "I am powerful," "I am loved," or "I am in control of my destiny."
3. Bath Rituals 🛁🌸
A soothing bath can work wonders for your well-being. Infuse your bathwater with Epsom salt, lavender, or rose petals. As you soak, visualize any stress or negativity melting away, leaving you refreshed and renewed. This simple practice can be profoundly healing.
4. Moon Meditation 🌕🧘‍♂️
Harness the energy of the moon to nurture your spirit. During the Full Moon, find a quiet space outdoors, and meditate beneath its radiant glow. Visualize the moon's energy filling you with light, cleansing away any emotional burdens, and empowering you for the month ahead.
5. Herbal Tea Ritual ☕🌿
Create a mindful tea ritual using your favorite herbs. As you brew and sip your tea, focus on the sensations and flavors. Allow the warmth of the tea to envelop you, bringing comfort and serenity. This practice can also enhance your connection with herbal magic.
6. Journaling 📓🖋️
Keep a magical journal to record your thoughts, experiences, and spellwork. Journaling is not only cathartic but also a powerful way to track your progress, uncover patterns, and celebrate your successes. Use it as a tool for self-reflection and growth.
7. Self-Compassion 💖🌈
Practice self-compassion in your daily life. Be gentle with yourself, just as you would with a close friend. Understand that setbacks are part of growth, and mistakes are opportunities to learn. By nurturing self-compassion, you'll foster resilience and inner strength.
🌟✨
As witches, our practice is a reflection of our inner and outer worlds. By prioritizing self-care, we infuse our craft with authenticity and power. Remember that you are the most important tool in your magical toolkit, and by nurturing your mind, body, and spirit, you become a beacon of light in the world.
So, let's embrace self-care as an essential aspect of witchcraft. By nurturing ourselves, we empower our magic and cultivate a deeper connection with the universe.
🌿🌟✨

Yo I’ve got another spell. For anyone who has trouble with energizing in the morning, hope this helps :3
Forewarning, this is just my personalized spell that I created as an amateur witch, not a cure by any means. I can’t guarantee anything.
Energizing Spell (morning)
Sit in front of your altar, if you have one, and meditate until all is clear (abt 5 minutes if you want a measurement).
Hold [crystal] near [chakra] (horoscope might help if your having trouble deciding).
Put on daily lotions, oils, etc.
“Thank [season] for this energizing morning. Let vulnerability manifest in one’s favor and call upon sensitivity. Let this path give one the strength to continue and vine. Let one’s system be a cycle and disperse the dense. Let it rain for one’s poise. So mote it be.”

Cicada Shells in (my personal) Magic
Tumblr media
© Kevin Ambrose
Disclaimer: This information is compiled from my own correspondences and what works for me.
Ever year in summertime, generally in August, I tend to find a lot of cicada shells. Not only are they a cool curio, but they’re also useful for my personal practice. I’d like to share some of what I use them for with you!
Correspondences:
Change
Letting go
Moving on / Leaving things behind
Personal growth
Weight being lifted
Change Powder Recipe: (Do not repost)
Useful for workings relating to change, growth, and motivation.
1-3 Cicada Shells
Ginger
Garlic
Lemon Pepper
Thyme
Combine all in a mortar & pestle and grind until the shells are broken down.
Cicada Shell Change Spell (Do not repost)
1 Cicada Shell
Small Piece of Paper
Pencil
Taglock
Wax
(Opt) Change Powder
(Opt) Herbs / oils / etc. you associate with change NOTE: Some oils might break down the paper and/or the shell, so be careful!
Write down on the paper what you want to change.
Roll or fold the paper small enough to fit into the cicada shell.
Carefully fit the paper and the taglock (& any powders, herbs, etc.) into the shell. Be careful, as the shells are brittle sometimes. If the shell breaks, don’t fret! Set it aside, it can be used to make change powder later. Just get another shell!
Once the paper is in the shell, seal the shell closed with the wax.
Keep where you like: personal altar, shelf, jewelry box, etc. Somewhere out of the way, where it won’t get hurt.
When the change has come to pass, dispose of the shell by burning it into ash.

Value of “year and a day” and dabbling in many things as a beginner. Ask yourself what you really want to get out of being a witch. Broad strokes; religious, secular, and folklore witchcraft. Talks a bit on cultural appropriation.

Moon Magick
This is quite a personal piece for me. With how wild things have been and continue to develop, I have put a lot more focus into finding ways to actually meditate and find more mental and physical relaxation. It isn't easy, BUT I have started to find some visualizations that I really enjoy AND they inspire a some artwork! So here is the first one! I love this relaxation/meditation technique.
