something so interesting about the way Benson’s trauma is hidden. Randy’s trauma forms the structure of the movie. we see it in his nightmares and hear about it in detail, and it’s traumatic, sure, but it’s also undeniably underwhelming. on the other hand, we only see Benson’s trauma in unexplained snippets. in the sheer viscerality of his grief in scenes quickly cut off. as if the movie itself is hiding it the way Benson hides it, by focusing on Randy - object of devotion and projection in equal measures.

I don't know, the older I get, the more I feel like getting an intentionally fraudulent academic paper published in a peer-reviewed journal doesn't actually show anything other than maybe that peer review isn't good at detecting intentional fraud.
Hey, maybe there ought to be an academic discipline that traces these things! A discipline charged with giving a social account of knowledge production. A sort of..."science studies", if you will.

AN "OINGO BOINGO: DANNY ELFMAN" DESKTOP PET SHIMEJI
HUZZAH! You can now have your VERY OWN Daniel Robert Elfman on your computer! FOR FREE!
Includes, but is not limited to...
A vast array of actions
A custom Dead Man's Party action
Slightly evil aura
AND MUCH MORE!
To use this Shimeji, you must have Windows, and an updated Java 8 client. Once you download the zip file, unzip it, and place the folder anywhere on your desktop. Go into the folder and click the file that says 'Shimeji-ee.jar' After that, he'll drop down upon your desktop, beginning his reign of terror upon your computer. Hurray! Play nice with him now.
You can also right-click the shimeji to bring up a context menu, there you can set a desired behavior you wish to see from him.
If you want more controlled settings, such as if you want to prevent him from duplicating, go to the tray icon of Louise cat's head and right-click from there.
Need a more visual tutorial on how to install a Shimeji? Click here.

I just realised you’re posting a fic chapter about every two weeks. That is INSANE /pos How do you do it…..
I don’t really know? I used to write my early stuff all in one go in a given afternoon. That was also at a time when I didn’t have much going on (crappy winter weather + friends in a busy period), so I had the free time.
Writing tactics wise I guess I’m not too precious about what I put down. If I’m having trouble continuing something, deleting the last paragraph or sentence usually fixes the problem. In general I’ll usually write the “easy” version first and then while editing for spelling and grammar I’ll switch things around.
For example switching out telling for showing.
‘He was afraid and was liable to react violently.’
Gets edited into:
‘He swallowed thickly, compulsively rubbing his thumb over the stock of his gun.’
Knowing when to let Theater of the Mind do the heavy lifting also helps a ton. Like I could describe action by action how a drunk character got home, or I could describe the condition they wake up in (on the floor, covered in shawarma, a dog that isn’t theirs licking their face).
It’s kinda fun, and really just one of those skills you pick up on from playing with the medium without any stakes or expectations.

The Raajneeti poster cracks me up so bad. Ranbir Katrina generational hetbait. They weren't even a couple in the film, despite having weird adulterous psychosexual tension as in-laws; it's just their offscreen buzz as a real life couple at the time was so sensationalized that they had to make this poster for the soundtrack and promotional material. It was a political drama loosely inspired by elements of The Mahabharata, Godfather, and–according to some claims–the Gandhi family during the 70s-90s. But hey, take this deceptively soppy Hindi 8 pm Star Plus soap serial-esque poster. Never let your husband stop you from finding your boyfriend (his Machiavellian younger brother with very little ethical integrity etc.)

Kamiyama is so funny
This kid (Mizuki) is failing bc of attendance, her work is fine. Instead of asking her whats wrong and how can they help with attendance nope. We're making her come 5 days in a roll (a miracle) to study (she doesn't need it) so she can do a test (she'll totally pass it easily).
Like if the test will make up for the absences... Then just. Make her do the test straight on? The classes are unnecessary for the poor kid😭
