You hear a finger snap and before you can even start to comprehend what's going on, the bottle of whiskey in Joshua's hand combusts in flame. You're frozen and your mouth is agape as you see the bathrobe catches aflame and soon the fire starts spreading all over his body in unnatural swiftness and ferocity. The terrible smell of burning flesh instantly hits your nose. It reminds you of that day when Ash burned Ronald, but a hundred times worse. Your stomach churns and your heartbeat is hammering so loudly in your ears that it's partially drowning the poor man's screams of agony. Ash touches your shoulder gently and you jolt in surprise, body unfurling and jumping back from Ash as you watch him warily, your blue eyes stinging. You reach up your face to wipe your eyes from the welling tears and realize that your mask of shadows has disappeared. 

"What the hell, Ash?!" you can't help but yell at him. "Why did you do that?"

Ash tries to approach you calmly, hands raised in what you assume is an attempt to comfort you, his emerald eyes are filled with worry. 

"Gabe… I did it for you; I know you don't have the heart to kill anybody. So, I did it for you, for your own good—"

You shake your head vigorously. "Don't. Don't say that," you cut him off firmly. "That man just answered all of our questions without a fuss. Hell, he has a family he was about to go back to. How could you do that to him?"

"Please Gabe… Everything I do has always been for you and the good of the family…" he's basically pleading now and you can taste the desperation in his tone.

You shake your head. "No, Ash… What you did is incredibly messed up…" Your voice is soft and trembling slightly. "There's no justification for killing that man in the first place, much less for killing him in such a… gruesome way. It's terrible…"  ©

Save and load system, in-game guide that you can read at any time, several mini-games, and more. Oh, there are multiple endings too.

Are You Ready Now?

Occult Master offers a different gameplay sensation compared to twine games in general, because it is more gameplay-based rather than story-based. However, this game may still be far from perfect. So, critical feedbacks are highly expected. If lots of people like it, then Occult Master will continue to get updates such as more locations, more demons, or additional new options on the Main Menu.

So..., I have an idea. After I finish Divinity and Her Flaws (gonna be a while), I'm thinking of creating a she-ra themed text-based adventure game. But first, I need info from you.

Sorry, but I have an autistic mind, and I have started another zombie phase (I may post once or twice about them on here, idk). There was this text based choose your own adventure I played around 2016/17 that I cant remember the name of. Honestly, all I can remember about it is that it had a keypad with three numbers worn down, one twice as much as the others, the protagonist was immune to the zombies found out due to testing in a lab, and there was a really long sewer section. I'm sorry if this isn't enough info, but this was 6 or 7 years ago.

i think the near-extinction of people making fun, deep and/or unique interactive text-based browser games, projects and stories is catastrophic to the internet. i'm talking pre-itch.io era, nothing against it.

there are a lot of fun ones listed here and here but for the most part, they were made years ago and are now a dying breed. i get why. there's no money in it. factoring in the cost of web hosting and servers, it probably costs money. it's just sad that it's a dying art form.

anyway, here's some of my favorite browser-based interactive projects and games, if you're into that kind of thing. 90% of them are on the lists that i linked above.

if you're ever thinking about making a niche project that only a select number of individuals will be nerdy enough to enjoy, keep in mind i've been playing some of these games off and on for 20~ years (Alter Ego, for example). quite literally a lifetime of replayability.

Adding minimal UI

This is an update to my previous posts in which, I used python to turn images such as pngs and jpgs into ASCII representations. After I had finished creating and polishing the main system, I decided to add a small amount of UI just to say that I had fully finished the project and made it usable to someone who might not wants to go through the trial of finding out how to change the image, by changing the code. I also wanted it to be faster and more fool-proof so that I don't run into problems while showing someone and put myself in an awkward situation where I'm fixing it while showing it off.

The UI I added was pretty simple and purely text-based, as I already know how to do this and don't want to create more potential bugs, which would be opposite of my aim.

The first thing I did was add a system to choose exactly which image to transfer, this would just be the images I have already added and tested. Such as the Miles Teller image. I used numbers so that people can choose the options with little confusion, also adding an error message if someone types something other than the pre-set options.

The next thing I added was an option to compress or not, so that the user has full control. I used y or n options this, just for simplicity.

One thing I noticed while testing was that if you save images from discord, they have an alpha value as well as rgb. This messes up this line of code: "r, g, b = pixel" which unpacks the rgb values from the pixel array, but with the added alpha value, it returns and error as not all of the values in the array are accounted for. To fix this, I literally just added an if statement that, if the image is from discord, instead of using the previously shown line of code, it does "r, g, b, x = pixel" the x is never used, but its just an easy way to remove the error.

About Gabe: Whether it's evil rock or ill twist of fate, but in a cruel world of big money and fierce competition Gabriel was born very kind and empathetic person. For such people, it is extremely difficult to fulfil the expectations placed in them. He must be a different, but Gabriel is gentle, calm, sympathetic and doesn't tolerate cruelty. You can call it a weakness, but on the other hand, the fact that he remains so pure is amazing. Gabe is not weak, he is loyal, determined and smart. He's even capable of feeling empathy for an enemy. Each man chooses his own path in life and it is not up to Gabriel to decide when this paths ends. In terms of romance he's innocent and timid, so please save him from another person's flirting. For the success of the important mission, he can play the role of most seductive boy in the world, but the real feelings? God what's that? Can it be eaten? However, he doesn't mind to understand love. He honestly doesn't mind. One should just take the first step. Gabe is a pretty good cook and is great with kids. His life goal is to become a vigilante and find answers, because he promised his father Justice.

Flirting with everyone is so funny, especially with shy (and a little clueless about love) MC. Well aside from Rin, 'cos my MC is monogamous, so I wanted to avoid polyamory. But Rin as a best friend is wonderful as well!

I'm obsessed with these jealousy scenes! Jealousy scenes are so rare in IFs, so many thanks to the author for these passionate moments.
