This is my silly mtl oc his name is Lamps Knueven

Lamps is the music producer for the band Rate Of Decay which is from a completely different universe but whatever

Lamps is mixed (Black and White) he doesn’t care what pronouns you use for her but he’s trans masc

Lamps has a bit of a loud mouth and loves gossip. He was originally supposed to be a fashion designer but became a music producer instead, which is how she met Michael Nielsen (the manager of Rate of Decay) along with ROD’s other helpers Nathan Laird and Helen Remedy, and it's safe to say he’s besties will all of them. 

Lamps has been arrested for many reasons mainly because he sells and does drugs very special ones known as Whale Blues, Catnip, and Abstract Madness

He used to be friends with Dick Knubbler way back then, and they would smoke weed and do drugs together, and Knubbler was actually the one that convinced Lamps into being a music producer, which got him to where she is now working with Rate of Decay, yet the problem is that one day he accidentally connected his mind to the universe while doing a drug he made himself that he called “Whale Blues.” which fucked him up to a whole new level, and due to his mind being connected to the universe, he looked into the future and saw the metalocalypse, and he saw Knubbler die, so he warned Knubbler, but he called Lamps crazy and stopped hanging around him, which made Lamps have a bit of a downfall in his mental health, leading him to the bar, where he eventually met Magnus Hammersmith.

nothing will ever amaze me the way fanfiction authors do. like, you wrote silly little stories about my favorite little guys? and i can read them?? for free??? that’s fucking wild.

you poured your heart and soul and very being into your writing and then put it out there for anyone to read? insane.

you spend a truly incredible amount of time writing novel-length, high quality stories, again, FOR FREE, that anyone can read, again, FOR FREE??

Everytime I see posts like this I get filled with such profound sadness

Cause you know who has the same brainrot as you? The same unhinged feelings as you after you've read the fic? The person who always wants to scream about the fic with you?

THE PERSON WHO WROTE IT

I never used to leave comments but since I got into the habit of commenting on everything i enjoy it's been incredible. Especially when the author gets back to me about it and we get to have a discussion of what other ideas they had. One writer replied to my comment with a 5 paragraph essay detailing the Floorplan of the building the characters lived in and it was incredible

Anyways this is all to say that if you find a fic that just makes you want to scream from the rooftops, leave a comment saying that to the author and maybe they will join you and you can scream incoherently together

You guys are commenting on the fics you read right? You’re at least leaving kudos on the Astarion smut and the pairs that have less than 20 fics for them too? You’re bookmarking stories you really like that are still being updated and ones that haven’t been touched in over a year right?

You know that even the smallest interactions are like cocaine to fic writers right? You understand how important a string of emoji hearts left behind on a chapter at three am is right?? Right????

You’re treating AO3 like a community and not a content factory….right?

want your favorite author to update but don’t want to be too pushy in their comment section?

here’s 5 things you can do to encourage them:

Reblog their fic link on tumblr (bonus if it’s with tags)

Bookmark the fic with a note about what you’re excited about/love in the fic

Recommend the fic to your friends or local discord channel

Draw art or create other media for the fic (as indicated by the author’s comfort level)

Leave them a comment when re-reading about the parts of the chapter/story that stood out to you the second time

My favorite thing as someone who primarily reads fanfiction more so than writes it is when an author responds to your comment
