Bg3 Companions Crying
Astarion not crying immediately after Cazador’s body is limp at his feet. Feeling numb, pained, screaming hoarsely, but no tears falling. It isn’t until later that night, back at the tavern, when he’s curled up in your arms and the blood has been cleaned from every part of him that they finally do. And it’s cathartic. Silent sobs at first which make him shake in your arms, then louder against your chest once you’ve assured him it’s ok. You aren’t leaving. He’s allowed to have this. While he practically never cried before that, after that he finds himself tearing up at such seeming insignificant things as he heals. The barrier broke, and it’s not going back up.
Lae’zel not processing what’s happening at first after learning the truth about Vlaakith. What is this foreign wetness in her eyes, and why won’t it go away? Despising how it feels and angrily trying to wipe them away. No, she’s not crying, how dare you suggest that? She must be allergic to all of the idiots surrounding her. When she’s alone, she tries to just get it out and get it over with without witnessing eyes, but gets frustrated when the tears won’t fall. It’s only in someone else’s presence that they seem to insist on forming, and that annoys her to no end. It’s only once she feels completely safe with you that she’ll cry one night in your presence, but god forbid you utter a word about it the next day.
Gale will get teared up over good things. When you first found Scratch, he was so relieved when the poor dog managed to find your camp later that he almost cried while petting him. Give him a hug, he gets choked up. Accepting his condition with the orb and allowing him to stay? Choked up. But with bad things, he isn’t as affected when those bad things pertain to him. His own possible death? Well, he resigned himself to that a while ago. He has more of a freeze and shut down response to bad things than a crying one. Once the final battle is over, though, and he realizes he gets to live… well, he ugly cries into your arms that night.
Shadowheart can only manage to cry by herself. She’s cried some nights about her lost memories, or if the pain in her hand flares up when she’s alone. But in front of other people, even you, she can never seem to. She doesn’t understand it, because she trusts you, but even if she’s upset all she feels is this heavy weight in her chest until she’s alone and the dam breaks. The only exception seems to be if she gets drunk.
Wyll is a quiet crier. He can be crying and still be breathing completely evenly, not even noticeable apart from the tears streaming down his cheeks. And he’ll try to smile through it if it’s something sad, reassuring you as if you’re the only who needs comforting for witnessing his breakdown. One of the only times he’s ugly-sobbed was the night Mizora turned him- until his throat was raw and his eyes stung, alone in his tent. Will tear up if you’re the one crying. On the flipside, also the type to laugh so hard he cries sometimes. He enjoys those moments of sheer joy.
Karlach tears up a lot. She’s just a naturally emotional person, and has no shame for it. Happy? Tears. Sad? Tears? You’re sad? Definitely tears. Cried from sheer relief when she got to cuddle someone the first night after getting her engine fixed. Sometimes, she’ll just start crying for no particular reason, and won’t even be able to explain it to herself, let alone you. “No, soldier, I’m alright. Don’t even know what this is, hah!”
Halsin doesn’t cry much. Years upon years of dealing with other people’s problems, comforting other people, going through long-winded arguments with other druids- eventually, a lot of things stopped making him as emotional as they used to. Even some nights where the guilt of the shadow-curse seem to weigh heavy on his chest, he just feels… stuck. Immobile. But not crying. When the curse is lifted on the lands, though, for the first time in a long while, he finds a single tear slipping from his eye as he smiles wider and more genuinely than he has for centuries.

Tess' Sharpuary - 3. Wheelchair
Aesop hated that he needed it, and that he felt grateful to have it. But now it was time to say goodbye.

3. Wheelchair (2k)
tw: trauma, grief, canonical character death
Aesop hated that wheelchair.
No, that was not entirely right - he hated the fact that he needed that wheelchair. From the first moment they sat him into it to wheel him over to Ashley’s funeral, he hated the blasted piece of wood and metal. That first day, he felt entirely powerless to do as much as try to operate it himself, and instead let people push him around. The healers, his mother, Dinah… He barely spoke, only gasping for breath occasionally when a particularly insistent sob fought its way through him. He didn’t even climb back into his St Mungo’s bed from it afterwards. He felt so completely empty, that he wouldn’t have cared if they left him sitting in it the entire night.
Later, he hated that he was grateful for it.
The healers insisted that while he was in pain, he was able to walk. He’d just have to use a cane and pain-relieving potions. The Auror was very tempted to tell them to go fuck themselves. They couldn’t heal him, and they were making it out to be some sort of blessing that he’d be able to walk as long as he drank copious amounts of Wiggenweld potion and hobbled around with a cane. A blessing, in Aesop’s opinion, would’ve been the ability to walk like he once had. Walking hurt, even with the use of cane and potions, and Aesop found himself to be glad when they allowed him to sit back down into his wheelchair again.
After they finally allowed him to go home, the first thing he did was check up on his stock of alcohol - and promptly started to get rid of it down his throat. He didn't know how many days passed then. All he knew was that while he was in his own house, the wheelchair was now his only home, and it was his prison as well. He hated it like he hated himself, but it would seem he’d have to learn how to live with both.
Or did he?
It was this thought that brought him back to the hospital, and into Dinah Hecat’s wrath.
His second stay in St Mungo’s was even less pleasant than the first one, as now he had to suffer through near-constant surveillance, and the only time he was allowed outside of his room was when Dinah herself was pushing him around the pale corridors and bringing him outside for some fresh air. Aesop still believed that it was what he deserved. It was what he deserved for causing her, and the other people who for some reason still cared about him, distress. He deserved it for what happened to Ashley.
It would seem he would be forced to accept the reality after all.
But then he didn’t.
After all, while Aesop’s home had been slightly modified to accommodate him, namely his bedroom moved to another room downstairs, there were still things he couldn’t exactly do while sitting down, like shaving in front of the mirror or brushing his teeth. That is, he could do these things while sitting down, he could enlarge the handheld mirror to be able to shave properly without leaving his wheelchair, or he could ever bring the new mirror in his bathroom down to his current height, but being used to do things one way for so many years made it all seem like more of an inconvenience than it already was.
And this, along with much, much pestering by Dinah, resulted in him bracing himself into a standing position to tend to his routine. More and more, he found himself leaving the comfort of his wheelchair to perform his tasks. And then, when instead of going through the tedious process of lifting himself onto the bed to remove his clothes, then moving to the wheelchair again to traverse the short distance from his now bedroom to the bathroom, awkwardly covered by his dressing gown, only to once more transport himself out of the wheelchair and onto the seat conjured in his bath, he actually got up and walked. Aesop knew he couldn’t rot away in that blasted contraption forever.
It wasn’t an easy process - he got tired quickly and had to either sit down, or brace himself against something often, but every single day, he found himself relying on his wheelchair less and less. His leg hurt, but it was far from the unbearable pain it was when the wound and the memory were fresh.
And then one day, he looked for his wheelchair throughout the house, only to realise that it was in his bedroom, and it had been there since the previous day. He had not used it at all.
He looked at the device with contempt, his head held high as if mocking it. Aesop Sharp stood mostly straight, only partially leaning his weight on the doorframe. He suddenly remembered why he was looking for it - him standing over his cauldron, working on yet another experimental cure didn’t do his leg much good, and he was hoping to rest a bit. He wouldn’t. He stared at the wheelchair, barely blinking, and reached into his pocket for a vial of Wiggenweld potion. He made it this far already, he was not about to give up now.
And yet, when he sent his things to Hogwarts for his very first year of teaching the young minds the art of potion-making, the wheelchair had been one of them.
Better safe than sorry, Aesop reasoned. After all, even after he began using his own bedroom on the first storey of his home again, Hogwarts still had a considerably larger amount of stairs, and one never knew when he’d need the rest. For the first few months, he carried it around in his coat pocket, shrunken to the size of a playing die, and ready to be used whenever. It almost happened a few times - but then, just when Aesop thought he’d fish it out of his pocket, enlarge it again, and sit down, he stopped. The tip of his finger traced over the miniature object. He considered for a few seconds, but in the end, he always decided to just power through it.
Dinah occasionally said that while she was delighted Aesop seemed intent on getting better, perhaps he truly should take a break from time to time, but a single look from him was enough to discourage her from saying anything else on the matter. He was a stubborn bastard, and he knew it was one of the qualities she liked about him the most.
The wheelchair stayed in his room the other year. And the one after that. And the one after that as well.
In the blink of an eye, he hadn’t used it for years, the very object he thought he’d never truly leave. And yet he couldn’t bring himself to get rid of it.
A voice in the back of his mind kept discouraging him from doing so. ‘What if you need it again?’ it asked, its voice unbearably annoying, ‘what if it gets worse, and you’re not able to walk again?’ Aesop always angrily shut it down. There was no way he’d allow himself to once more descend into that blasted thing, he’d do anything he could to prevent such a scenario. And yet… and yet it remained there, in the mess that he called his chambers, catching dust that would only be wiped down over the summer when he wasn’t present.
When he returned to his bedroom, it was already getting light outside. He was completely exhausted. It’s been a decade since he last had a chance to fight like this, and his body kept the adrenaline in his veins for hours afterwards, only to cut him off the moment he stepped over his threshold. He sat in the armchair of his sitting room, looking into the flames. Twenty-four hours prior, he was certain the worst that could happen today was Garreth Weasley blowing up yet another cauldron. And then, suddenly, he was hurling spell after spell at goblins and trolls in caverns under Hogwarts.
He hadn’t felt this alive in… in over a decade if he was being honest with himself. But then again, even though they won, they lost Fig. Fig was a good man, a good colleague… And Aesop might have even gone as far as to call him a friend. He never thought it imaginable that the two people to save Hogwarts from certain doom would be his elderly professor friend and a sixteen-year-old girl. The world was getting stranger by the day.
Those involved in the battle sat in the staff room for hours, discussing what the official story should be. The potions master knew there was more to it, but they’d hardly know just how much more until the young woman who went to the caverns with Fig woke up.
He was the one who brought her all the way to the Hospital wing, not taking a single pause, barely feeling his leg at that moment. He stayed there with her until his presence was required with his colleagues, but promised to return. Not that she heard him…
Now he felt exhausted and restless simultaneously, and he fidgeted with his finger like he usually did when feeling a little lost. The following several days, weeks perhaps, would be mad, of that he had no doubt, and yet, instead of getting some sleep, he was just sitting there, doing nothing. Finally, he scoffed and got up to walk into his bedroom.
But then something caught his eye - his wheelchair. It was, once more, covered by dust, unused and unnecessary, now more so than ever before. Aesop Sharp, who some ten years ago thought he’d never be able to walk again, slayed several trolls and countless goblins tonight, all without the use of his cane. And while the adrenaline was gone now and the pain in his leg was slowly seeping back, his hands closed into fists.
“Can’t sleep either, can you?” sounded from the fireplace after he tossed a pinch of Floo powder into it, and called into Dinah’s rooms. “Meet me by the ruins en route to Hogsmeade,” he said simply, “and Abraham too, please.”
Mere minutes later, the three professors were standing within the remains of the ruined building by the road. All of them knew it well, having passed it hundreds of times during their years both as teachers and students. All of them were in various stages of wear, exhausted and heartbroken, and yet neither of the potions master’s friends questioned him when he summoned them, and simply just came.
Aesop made it a little before his two friends, and he set the wheelchair some ways from them.
“Aesop?” Dinah asked, her normally authoritative voice weighed down by the things that occurred on this cold night. He didn’t answer, only breathed deeply, eyes fixed on the object in front of him. It would seem he needn’t answer, as his colleagues soon guessed why he asked them here.
“My friend,” Abraham said quietly, voice still hoarse from both his tiredness, and the tears he shed for Eleazar Fig, “You know I’m not one to question your judgement, but… are you certain?” Aesop didn’t say anything for the longest time but then gave a single short nod.
The former Auror raised his wand.
“Incendio.”
Not a second later, the wheelchair was engulfed in flames. His friends repeated after him, first Dinah, then Abraham. Soon the flames began licking up his skin, making him feel warmer in the dark night turning into pale morning where they stood.
And even though he knew the following days and weeks would be difficult, even though he now had one more person to mourn, and even though it was now obvious the new Fifth-year was far from being a regular student, Aesop Sharp felt strangely light as he watched his wheelchair burn.
“I bloody well hope classes are cancelled today, I’m way too old to teach after no sleep,” Dinah grumbled next to him.
And despite everything, Aesop grinned.

idk if you intentioned it like that, but as someone with chronic pain and fatigue, mike's condition half rotting condition makes me feel at least a bit more seen :,D
Sometimes days are harder than other, overworking is always on the table when you used to be an overachiever before your illness, the constant horror from other people too that , and the fear of some days being worse than others, the fear that you have overdone it so bad that you cant go further like the day before.
There is a fear some disabled people with this stuff dont talk about often because of not wanting to be pitied or looked for, so the more visual depicton of the rotting rather than the internal feeling is a way to kind of emphasize "This is pain. There is a limit he reached and keeps overcoming, even as he is falling apart"
This though also allows for the plant regrowth of mike to also be a hopeful thing of what comes when you finally respect the limits of your own body and learn how to treat it. Allowing your body to heal and you to learn new ways of enjoying time, even if its not the same as it used to be. Its not the same and might never be, but there are other, gentler ways to enjoy things now. Now you are even enjoying the bird chirp you never heard as you were rushing from task to task.
Once again sounds probably like rambling, but mike is just his own little garden of eden and learning how to tend to it means learning how to tend to himself too
thank you so much for this message, i'm really happy to see that this aspect of michael's character comes through because that's exactly what i'm trying to portray. michael is very much meant to show the physical and mental burnout one is left with after years of overachieving and perfectionism, coupled with becoming ill in a way that prevents him from continuing to achieve that standard. some days he tries to work to that same capacity, but he realizes more and more he's pushing himself to extremes when he's left combating much more severe symptoms as a result. at first, he fights against his body, treating it as an enemy, an obstacle, a weakness, forcing it beyond what it can now do because acceptance is just too difficult. if he can still perform as he once did, if he never slows and carries out his duty as the prince of heaven and warden of hell, then nothing has changed. he can make himself sick over and over again, trapping himself in a vicious cycle that only breaks down a body in desperate need of more care, but if he can still, eventually, force himself through another day of how he once could serve, he can deny his illness. but through the care of his siblings and v2, he gains an increasing appreciation for his body as it is now and what it is capable of. understanding his limits is a slow process, but as his fear and anger and grief are attended to, so can he now attend to his body, feel love for it and for the plants that grow in it now. they're so happy to have life and he starts to feel through them, finding himself in this body like he never before had the chance to.
i was diagnosed with a chronic illness a few years ago, and i went through these stages to arrive now in a place where my life is very different from before but i'm okay with it. i wanted michael to be similar, and that's also why i don't find a way to just "heal" characters - they are not broken because they are ill, and i want them to achieve fullness in that illness. michael actually lives a much more peaceful life in this new body, one that initially invoked so much hatred and fear but becomes beautiful as its own little garden even though it is the same as it has been ever since it died. there is still difficulty no matter how long it's been, there is still frustration and hardship through what has been lost, but he, overall, is happier, calmer, and more connected to himself than he was before his illness. disability is a complex thing and i know we don't all relate to it the same, but i just drew on my own experience and im so glad it could resonate with you too.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness complete review (with spoilers)
See you on the other side of the cut o/
Just a quick disclaimer, I still do not have high quality screenshots (obviously) so I’ll try my best between pics from the trailer and leaked scenes.
So. Of course, I’ll be starting with none other than Stephen Strange. And by that I do not mean the other other Stephen, I mean the original one. Stephen grows SO MUCH in this movie, and this is exactly what I always wanted and been waiting for since the release of his first solo movie. After all, six years is not an easy period to endure. I was beyond sick of seeing so much arrogance and no development whatsoever. But FINALLY, FINALLY Stephen allows his vulnerability to show and, from that, heal and grow. There are two key elements which are intrinsic to make him question his entire subjectivity: love and happiness.
He begins his journey trying to understand why he failed to be with Christine. It’s really hard to see someone you love with another partner, but I can see in his eyes that Stephen is glad for her, even though he can’t help but investigate why they didn’t work out. Once more, Stephen’s need to be in control (something that is not that strange to comic book readers either) gets in the way because yes, he’s an insecure man, and this is where this toxic behavior comes from. He accepts that Christine can’t love this part of his self and he isn’t willing to change, thus sealing the fate of their relationship. And it’s perfectly fine. I know the MCU tends to portray Christine as Stephen’s ultimate love but stay with me. We’ll talk about love for sure. I simply love how Stephen is like “Okay, I blew up and she deserves happiness, even though I still love her. She still means the world to me.” He’ll get there. He will.
In addition, there’s this question that keeps popping here and there. “Are you happy, Stephen?” Of course, he isn’t happy. He lost the love of his life (or so he assumes), he lives alone in the Sanctum, saving Earth didn’t bring the fulfillment he needed either. Yes, he found another way to save lives, which is his purpose since he decided to be a doctor. Is it enough, though?
Tumblr media
Throughout the movie, Stephen slowly learns that his variants may not be all that altruistic as he belives himself to be because of his need to be in control. Supreme Stephen made mistakes and accepted his execution as part of his guilt for allowing himself to be corrupted by the Darkhold and bringing an incursion upon his Earth, even though he indeed saved the world in the process. Defender Stephen died after trying to take America’s power when left with no choice. Sinister Stephen couldn’t prevent the incursion and was also corrupted by the Darkhold, becoming a murderer out of jealousy in the name of his love for Christine. I could go further and mention that What If?Stephen also ended up corrupted because death was not in his control, and he only realized his mistake when it was too late. All these Stephens have the same core issue, so what makes our Stephen different? He saw his variants’ mistakes and decided to take a different path (just a bit though). This is why he ends up reading the Darkhold anyways BUT he allows America to explore her full potential, finally letting someone else decide the fate of the universe for a change. This is controversial in some regards because, well, some expect the main character to save the day. But, taking into consideration the way I perceive Stephen personally, I am way more satisfied with his character development than settling a fight to measure wands and power. He wins by trusting America, he overcomes his trust issues, he IS better after this fight as a whole. I’ve always been here not for power but for his cunning, inherent altruism and growth.
Other important elements that allowed Stephen to grow that I’d like to point out: his relationship with Wong, not only the usual banter but Stephen actually bowing to him in the end of the movie, showing Wong that he learned humility (and their relationship is one of my favorite things about this movie); his trust issues which he gradually overcomes thanks to his relationship with America, allowing himself to be vulnerable and relying on others; his constant attempt to reach out for Wanda, never truly initiating the fight and giving her a chance and a choice; his acknowledgment that Wanda is indeed powerful and he may not be enough to save the multiverse. Really, in advance, I will say that I hate the plot deeply, but Stephen’s characterization and growth are absolutely magnificent and at least I can breathe in relief knowing that my character was treated with respect (and honestly, I don’t think it was the writer who made this possible based on the rumors on set. I think it was Benedict being extremely passionate about him, and the director following his directions).
Magic is also better, as I previously stated. Not perfect, though. Still no incantations, and yet better for a fact. I may have recognized some, like the Chains of Krakkran and the Flames of Faltine, yet it’s hard to establish such spells with accuracy when they’re not officially invoked. Still, there is diversification, from summoning monsters to manifesting physical... I dunno, stands? If you’re  curious about my favorite scene, I can tell in advance that, after the post-credit scene, my favorite one was the bard fight between Stephen and Sinister Strange. And speaking of which, I really wish Donna’s demise had more importance instead of being just a mention to show Stephen his vulnerability and fears as a person (like, say, the animated movie), yet I can understand we can’t have it all and the plot sadly wasn’t meant just for him.
Tumblr media
Lastly, let’s talk about love. I was kinda YIKES about Stephen falling in love with other Christine because it gives me the impression that people are fated to be together in the multiverse, leaving them no choice when it comes to fall in love with other people, an immutable point in time and space that repeats itself over and over. Thank the Vishanti it was not the case because SHE appeared. I AM VINDICATED, FINALLY. HER EXISTENCE CURED MY MENTAL ILLNESS, IT’S OVER FOR THE MCU. THE QUEEN IS HERE. Clea had 10 seconds on screen and she’s already the girlboss I always believed her to be. The chemistry they share is unbelievable. I cannot describe my happiness and relief after SO MANY EXHAUSTING YEARS of MCU fans telling me Christine is Clea. Why was it so hard for people to envision two different female characters? Christine in this movie isn’t even the Night Nurse, she’s a scientist and a technomancer, of sorts. She’s her own character, as is Clea. And I’m vindicated. You all know me, you know how much I love and simp for Clea, and how I don’t get tired of stating how hopelessly in love Stephen is with her. I will come back to this when I talk about the plot, I just want to conclude my train of thought here about love. So, overall, I’m really glad that Stephen recognized his fear of feeling vulnerable, and scientist Christine is really important for his journey. Because yeah, it’s cute that he loves Christine in all universes because he is a being of love (which is not the first time we talk about it on this blog). Love to Stephen is fundamental because it’s hard for him to love himself, despite all the apparent narcissism. Stephen may be confident and proud of his skills as a doctor and a sorcerer, yet he’s aware that he lacks skills in social circumstances and relationships. On the top of that, Stephen will have to allow himself to trust and love again, which is a very difficult process for someone who strongly believes he deserves to be alone. To open up again, especially for Clea, will be a blast.
Tumblr media
And this is AMAZING because it’s been years that I’m trying to say that this character right here has TONS OF LAYERS, and we finally managed to see some of the deepest ones, which makes me extremely happy.
We saw how dependent on love he is, how his narcissistic self is a facade to hide his fears (being vulnerable; not being enough; not being in control; failing people - especially Donna; coping with loss and pain and loneliness; admitting to himself that he hasn’t found fulfillment and happiness etc). STEPHEN IS FINALLY BEING PORTRAYED AS THE CHARACTER I FELL IN LOVE WITH and I couldn’t be happier. This is why I loved him in this movie and I’ll not get tired of praising his characterization. He’s so on point. He’s just... perfect.
Tumblr media
And this is also a double-edged sword for me because the plot is... terrible. In advance, I need to state that 1) I’m not an MCU!Wanda stan, 2) I do not stan actors in general and 3) this is my opinion as someone who is constantly rooting for 616!Wanda to have a proper representation and move past her terrible portrayals in so many recent runs. Feel free to disagree but please understand where I’m coming from, a comic book reader who deeply loves the magic community and defends the fact that this group is one of the most significant and strong bonds in all the Marvel Universe. On the top of that, I also defend how Wanda and Stephen are friends in 616.
In two words? Character assassination. I dunno, most of her stans are quite infamous and I’ve seen so many of them rooting for her to be a psycho villain and kill everyone. This is not the Wanda I wanted to see in the MCU. First of all, I cannot stress how much it’s problematic for me to see a female character who was supposed to be a hero, a freaking nexus being that protects magic and reality, reduced to... Samara with magic. Second, I really dislike how witchcraft has been reduced to an evil kind of magic, ESPECIALLY knowing that Wanda was supposed to be a WOC and her magic is deeply rooted in Roma culture. Third, mental health stereotype. I remember watching Cinema Therapy’s episode on Wandavision (and I do love them), but they talk about grief and how Wanda tries to cope with this pain by deceiving herself. They point out it’s an unhealthy mechanism and she does hurt people in the process, but she embraces the mourning and runs away in order to heal. They do not mention she’s sorry for the things she has done. Because she isn’t. I can’t help but wonder now if she can get away with all that to justify her pain, even though she was influenced by the Darkhold. She tortured and killed innocent people, she was willing to murder a teenager with the exhausting excuse of being a mother (and I really hate how so many people use motherhood as an excuse to be abusive, harmful and manipulative). Don’t get me wrong, I think that, overall, she’s one of the most interesting villains so far in the MCU, although I can’t pretend I’m not bothered by all the previous elements I just pointed. I will not endorse a redemption arc even though she “opened” her eyes at the very last second. Because the only thing that made her realize her wrongdoings was the fact that her children were scared of her. It didn’t feel altruistic to me. And according to rumors, we’re heading to Children’s Crusade, which is a book that YIKES... Rip my Victor von Doom. Rip Wanda as an empowered woman. I’m sorry, it’s just really hard to love Wanda in the MCU when I know she’s nothing like the hero I root for in comic books. I can understand why people love her but, again, in my opinion, this is not the character I’d waste my energy on and invest myself in. But enough of Wanda, let’s get into America *breathes in*
Tumblr media
Ah, yes. I really love America in general. She’s sweet, funny, she has potential to be part of one of my favorite tropes (daughter adopted by dysfunctional dad), she’s strong and empowered, she’s latina which is amazing for minorities to feel represented. So what is my issue here? The issue is that absolutely nothing of her afro Puerto Rican heritage was represented as far as I can tell (there is also the issue of going for a Mexican reference, which basically confirms that Hollywood sees us as interchangeable). I’m not Mexican or Puerto Rican, despite living in South America, so please feel free to correct me on this one. Also I’m glad her mothers made an appearance but listen. After watching Eternals (and, not related but OFMD), I cannot be satisfied with lukewarm LGBTQIA+ representation anymore. This is really hard personally because unlike Wanda, whose portrayal is really bad in general according to my perspective, America is an amazing character. Yet I feel it’s my duty to listen to people who want to have their voices heard, be seen and represented properly in media. Again, feel free to disagree, but I do believe these aspects matter. I don’t want to spoil people’s excitement and joy, I just feel that pointing these things out is the bare mininum I can do as a human being, especially when it’s not my place to talk about it. Despite all that, America is really amazing and I deeply want to cherish for her. Her daughter/father relationship with Stephen is so on point (pretty much what I envision for Illyana, for instance). I was kinda hhhhhh when I saw her learn magic (because she’s not really a sorcerer) and I really need her to have more skills, but that will be definitely be explored (I have inside info that Wong and America will have a special so yep, daughter confirmed).
Tumblr media
Now let’s move to other characters. I’m just SO glad Wong remained as the Sorcerer Supreme and the fact that he holds knowledge that Stephen doesn’t, which is GOOD because that’s how their dynamics are supposed to be according to the magic hierarchy. I’m relieved to know that he didn’t die so Stephen could take the mantle, that would be problematic af and I don’t want that either. I do think he could have performed more spells but I understand that the movie is basically Wanda and Stephen. I already mentioned how he was a wonderful comic relief with the right amount of comedy, but also a wonderful leader. A thousand years of Wong supremacy!! also they’re super married
Tumblr media
Now, what really BOTHERS me is how both Sara and Rintrah were forgetable. I talked to two different friends and they both couldn’t remember Sara’s name, because, yeah, she died. And I still do not know who she is. Is she Mordo’s mother? Is she Sara Wolfe? Is she an entire new character that only existed to give a hint about Wong having a relationship with someone? And Rintrah was supposed to fix Cloakie!! I’m very disappointed concerning these two, they deserved so much more. And I was also baited and led to believe Mordo would have a more significant role but no, he was just part of the Illuminati. Glad he didn’t die, all things considered.
Tumblr media
But yeah, speaking of the Illuminati... I SCREAMED SO MUCH NOT ONLY BECAUSE REED AND XAVIER BUT BUT BUT LISTEN, REED TALKED ABOUT THE INCURSIONS!!! SECRET WARS!! DOCTOR DOOM IS COMING, PEOPLE!!!!! THE HYPE IS REAL!! ;-; But I’ll get there as soon as I talk about comic book references *holds my own horses*
Just a quick mention about Christine. I loved her alternate version and the fact that she managed to apply magic to technology. I also adored that she didn’t end up with Stephen - and maybe I’m biased here because I’m team Cleaphen all the way up, but listen. They wouldn’t work out, and that Christine is just a projection of what he lived with his Christine. She knows she’d be loving an idea, and Stephen is just too hopelessly in need of love to notice that so of course he’s willing to try. Poor little meow meow...
Mmmm, what else am I missing? Probably a few things, there are too many details so let’s review the comic book references that I was able to notice before I forget them. (there might be more, though, so feel free to check other sources!)
1. Darkhold, Chthon and some Wanda’s lore
As I stated previously, no arc was adapted in this movie, except the few times Wanda was possessed by Chthon. Chthon was indeed mentioned (and I immediately thought of Super Hero Squad’s Chthon, if you know, you know), but he was not directly involved in this plot, which was LAME imo. If Chthon was indeed involved, that would still grant an opportunity for Wanda to redeem herself. It was not what happened. Go read Darkhold Alpha/Omega, a recent comic book about Wanda overcoming Chthon and absorbing the Darkhold into herself (Victor is terribly portrayed in this but it’s fine, it’s fine). Wundagore is of course deeply related to Wanda but that’s it. It’s also fair to state that the Darkhold isn’t just about dream walking but it also contains a spell that extinguishes all vampires on Earth (the Montesi Formula). Stephen used it once and survived the Darkhold’s influence (the same cant be said about MCU!Stephen though...). This is as far as I can go about this matter so feel free to dig more about these subjects.
2. Artifacts
The book of the Vishanti was an obvious one. The Sands of Nisanti were used to poison Stephen and America and also prevent them from using magic and powers (you can check this spell in The Oath and also Cates’ run during the Loki: Sorcerer Supreme arc). And well, the Evil Eye was not the Evil Eye as we first assumed since 2016, despite having the same design (I’m immensely sorry but I totally forgot its name). Once more we managed to see the Wand of Watoomb. Clea’s weapon shares a deep similarity to Stephen’s scalpel in v5, being able to cut rifts between dimensions.
Tumblr media
3. Incursions, Illuminati, New Avengers and Secret Wars
No one touch me right now, I’m having a full meltdown thinking of my beloved New Avengers and Secret Wars. But for real, hhhhh. I knew Peggy, Xavier and Monica were going to appear because of the leaks, but Black Bolt and especially Reed (!!!) were such a good surprise. And on the top of that, incursions????? Soooo, what about incursions in the 616? Strangeplaining Hickman is hard enough, ngl. But it’s worth the reading. It’s basically the same concept, two worlds colliding, except they don’t merge. They literally collide, and the cause is also different. I don’t suppose incursions will be centered on Beyonders after watching dsitmom. I think it will be definitely related to magic and Stephen will be a key element for that. But we also need our MCU!Illuminati to become a reality (I’ll never call MCU the 616 universe, I’m sorry, Christine, you are just wrong). Also can I just say that I MELTED when Reed talked about Sue and Franklin and Valeria? THEY EXIST, THEY’RE REAL, MY FANTASTIC FOUR IS REAL, HELP ME, I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO SO SO LONG, LEMME BE ANNOYING ABOUT IT. AND IF VALERIA EXISTS, IT MEANS THAT DOOM ALSO EXISTS CAUSE HE WAS THE ONE WHO HELPED SUE TO GIVE BIRTH. OH, VISHANTI, IT’S HAPPENING. Also also also if Xavier real, so is Illyana *becomes dust*
Okay so some people were upset about the deaths and Reed telling Wanda about Black Bolt’s powers. I pretend I do not see it. Do not count on me to criticize anything about Reed, he’s perfect. Black Bolt is okay, I didn’t watch the tv show because I do not hate myself to this point. But listen. Reed is kind enough to try and reason with cray cray Wanda. Also the Illuminati are supposed to do shady stuff like lying and manipulating facts, come on!!!! It feels like you guys never read New Avengers v3. So do me a favor and go for it. Also they died fast??? It was convenient for the plot, guys. It’s not like they had 40 minutes to battle and be even more amazing. They were supposed to be fanservice, AND I’M TAKING IT FOR SURE AAAAAAAAAAAA
Tumblr media
*X-Men ‘97 theme intensifies*
4. Corruption
So, the third eye. The third eye in comics isn’t *just* related to corruption. It allows the user to see supernatural things that ordinary people can’t. BUT the movie was a clear reference to this New Avengers v3 panel here.
Tumblr media
And guess what? In the middle of an INCURSION!! I’m all down for corrupted Stephen, as long as he doesn’t become a Wanda 2.0. I want him to feel guilty and miserable about it, just like New Avengers v3 and Doctor Strange v4. And yes, I do love Stephen, was there any doubt about it?
5. v4 reference detected!!
Stephen is wearing this outfit conceived by Bachalo for v4 in the first post-credits scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. Multiverses
I spotted The Living Tribunal, and my friend said that the Fortnite world was also a thing (I don’t play it so this is why I missed this one haha, but it makes sense assuming Fortnite now is basically a super fandom and Marvel has indeed strong ties with the franchise). More and more we’re seeing cosmic beings and honestly I can’t wait for my Eternity to show up.
And lastly...
CLEA
MY LOVE, MY QUEEN, MY EVERYTHING. I KNEW Marvel was pushing Clea for a while now, it was not a coincidence. And again, I can finally rest. She’s perfect. 10 seconds on screen and she’s the girlboss she’s meant to be. They share such an amazing chemistry, she bosses Stephen around and he immediately goes “yes, mommy”. I NEED THEM RIGHT NOW.
Tumblr media
LOOK AT THEM, LOOK AT THEEEEEEEEEM, IT’S MY SHIP OVER THERE, I CAN’T WAIT FOR THEM TO CLEAN THE MARVEL UNIVERSE, IT’S OVER FOR EVERYONE AAAAAAAAAA
*ahem*
I’m probably (definitely) forgetting something. It’s just too much info to process and despite watching it twice, I was too caught up in the fanservice, I couldn’t help but vibrate and scream and feel emotionally full by seeing my Stephen on screen.
SO, SUMMING UP.
Bad plot, not centered around the protagonist because of the fandom. Best Stephen’s characterization in the MCU so far, though. Tons of fanservice. Danny Elfman did it again, I shall love him for that symphony fight alone. Magic is becoming cooler and cooler. Cleaphen is real. New Avengers/Secret Wars next project confirmed. All my dreams are coming true and all my faves shall interact one day *believing intensifies*
If you’re here for Stephen, go ahead and watch this movie. It’s definitely worth it. The post-credit scene alone is enough, I assure you.
Final score: 8,5/10.

It's Valentine's Day, what better way to celebrate than with an analysis of one of the best fanfics out there?
As for When Worlds Collide, it's one of those must-read fanfics because of the deep background it presents, addressing themes of forgiveness and self-esteem. In this thread I won't focus on evaluating the narrative structure or the quality of the dialogue, but on the plot around the story and why it is so popular.
This story, offers valuable advice and messages from the reader from the beginning to the end. It is considered one of the most important and best fanfics that exist, since it touches common situations such as the pain caused by close people leaving the message it conveys is one of the healthiest to deal with these experiences.
Now then, I would prefer starting to discuss about the characters, from those with secondary roles to the protagonists with more developed and relevant arcs in the plot, until the end to give my final opinion.
"It doesn't take a sword to break us. Sometimes it's just a person." Forgiving does not necessarily mean forgetting what happened or justifying the actions that caused pain, but rather freeing oneself from the resentment and bitterness that can consume us. Forgiveness requires courage and understanding, and can be a long and difficult process. However, it can lead to emotional healing and the restoration of broken relationships. Showing ourselves as we are, without masks or pretense, allows us to build more genuine and meaningful relationships with others. While it can be challenging to stop hiding our true selves, the process of doing so allows us to grow and develop as individuals, strengthening our self-esteem and self-confidence.
-The role of the big sister in giving advice.
Tumblr media
Let's start with April. Although her participation is limited, her role as older sister is fundamental in the plot. April is dedicated to take care and give advice especially to Leo. The mutual trust and affection between them is noticeable. However, she also warns Leo about the need to protect himself, saying that sometimes it is inevitable to get hurt (especially when it comes to feelings). This lesson is crucial in the future for Leo to understand that you can't always blindly trust those you love. Also as the story progresses, April interacts more with Yuichi and accepts his role in the family. When the truth is revealed, April apologizes to Leo (as she feels it is her fault, and the omen she said turned out to be true), though he understands that it is not his fault. Leo seeks April's advice about forgiving Usagi, and she encourages him to decide for himself, emphasizing that he has control over his life. This dynamic demonstrates the love and support between siblings. April is always willing to give advice that is not only right, but also seeks Leo's happiness.
-The role of learning to protect physically and emotionally.
Tumblr media
Raph and Mikey also play important roles, with Raph taking on the role of the protective and self-sacrificing older brother, while Mikey represents innocence and emotional generosity. In the story's denouement, the two develop a bond with Yuichi, coming to protect each other and consider him a valuable friend to both Leo and themselves. When the truth is revealed, both Raph and Mikey are hurt. Raph blames himself for not protecting Leo from emotional deception, though Leo comforts him, knowing it is not his fault. Yuichi, aware of the connection between Raph and Leo, asks him to protect his brother, a request Raph readily accepts, prioritizing Leo's safety over his friendship with Yuichi. On the other hand, Mikey stresses the importance of communication by proposing to talk to Yuichi. He is the only one who senses Leo's true feelings and wants to prevent him from repressing them. Although he feels hurt, Mikey recognizes Yuichi's need to express himself and encourages Leo to talk to him sincerely. He thanks Yuichi for standing by Leo during difficult times. Despite feeling betrayed, both Raph and Mikey direct their anger at themselves for allowing their brother to suffer. However, they are determined to protect Leo and support him in whatever decision he makes regarding Yuichi.
-The role of being selfish with no thought for the suffering of others.
Tumblr media
Big Mom is presented as an antagonist who exerts control over Yuichi's life. Although she was not a good role model for him, she shares a strong parallel with Yuichi in betraying the most important person in his life, although unlike Yuichi, Big Mom acts in her own self-interest, with no regrets for her actions, leading her into a cycle of continuous betrayals. Only at the end, upon seeing Yuichi with Leo, does she feel compassion as she remembers her own relationship with Splinter. Although she is not the main villain, she is an example of someone who neither changes nor regrets her mistakes, ignoring the damage caused. Big Mom is a dangerous character due to her lack of empathy about the suffering she causes.
-The role of justifying your actions by believing you are a hero.
Tumblr media
The Draxum of this story is a ruthless and manipulative antagonist who seeks power and personal gain without caring about playing with the feelings of others. He uses both physical strength and emotions to hurt others in order to achieve his goals, even threatening Yuichi's life on several occasions and enjoying Leo's suffering. Although a different version of the original, his role as a feared villain is successful in advancing the plot and forcing Yuichi to fulfill his mission. Draxum's denouement with Yuichi is important to the outcome of both characters, as he loses everything he had and is left feeling neither remorseful nor proud of his actions. Throughout the story, parallels are drawn with Big Mom, both of them regardless of the fact that they hurt teenagers in different ways. However, while Draxum admits to being the villain and believes he is doing the right thing according to the prophecy, Big Mom acts for her own benefit without remorse, disguising her true intentions.
-The role of parallels in the face of the same story with a different ending.
Tumblr media
Leo and Splinter share similar stories of blindly trusting those they love, despite the warning signs that may be visualized along the way. Although Splinter at first seems disinterested in his children's lives, he eventually reveals himself to be a father who has made many mistakes but tries to support his children. When Leo feels displaced, Splinter decides to support his goals, which shows a significant gesture of support by gifting him the medical kit he has for practice, demonstrating that he listens to his children. The relationship between Leo and Splinter is exemplary, showing that despite being a parent with a difficult past he can still support his children, Splinter also shares his past with Big Mom, showing his concern for protecting his children from the influence a person can have coming into their lives. When the truth is discovered, Splinter is upset with Yuichi but decides not to judge him, acknowledging his own mistake-filled youth. He advises Leo on the difficulty of forgetting someone, showing empathy for both his son and Yuichi. The encounter between Splinter and Big Mom reflects a deep shared pain, where neither speaks but both feel the burden of what they have experienced. This reflection leads Leo to question which is worse: being betrayed by the one you love and choosing his own path, or seeking to redeem himself. The story suggests that redemption is possible, offering hope for a different future for both Leo and Yuichi.
-The role of understanding the suffering of others.
Tumblr media
If I had to talk about a character that had an incredible evolution, it would undoubtedly be Donnie. I'll be honest, when I first read WWC, Donnie was a character I couldn't stand, but then I realized that the character was not to blame and on the contrary he was the one who was right (at least in the end). Donnie's evolution throughout the story is remarkable and significant. At the beginning, he feels jealous towards Yuichi due to the attention Leo gives him, leading to arguments and mistreatment, which makes Leo confront him, and both of them can look for a solution causing him to understand the importance of tolerating him for his brother's sake. Although Donnie has difficulty expressing his feelings, he shows a positive change as he tries to understand Yuichi and support him when necessary. His doubts about Yuichi arise when he witnesses his delivery of the glasses and armor to Draxum, leading him to investigate and confront Yuichi. However, he becomes frustrated when he finds no hard evidence and his anger transforms into a desire to protect Leo, becoming more cautious with what he does, and generating tension between the brothers. When the truth is revealed, Donnie experiences a moment of anger and regret for not having protected his brother, this is reflected much better in the fight he has with Yuichi, where he basically ends up hitting him hard believing that this might help Leo feel better, but then he realizes that it didn't really help at all. He begins to highlight how he was always right, but realizing Leo's suffering and the mistake he has made in seeing his brother being considered an idiot for having feelings, he makes Donnie apologize for not protecting him, both brothers apologize to each other and agree to support the other, this time starting without remorse, showing their emotional growth and willingness to support their family. The relationship between Donnie and Yuichi shows that it is not always necessary to like someone to tolerate them (not everyone is going to like you and not everyone will like you, that is a law of life), that does not prevent you from learning to be empathetic with others. The way Donnie is portrayed in the story brilliantly reflects his evolution and the importance of empathy in interpersonal relationships, from being a character who does not know how to express what he feels very well due to lacking in some occasions of these, that does not prevent him from caring or wanting to protect his brothers, learning to change and evolve into a character who feels empathy for the pain of others and decides to support Leo in his final decision without judging him.
-The role of finding your place in the world and knowing how to forgive.
Tumblr media
Leo's story is one of self-discovery and emotional growth, but above all he is the character who will give us the best (in my opinion), most important advice in the whole story. From the first meeting with Yuichi, Leo feels a special connection and is intrigued by him, we are also told that he has no interactions with other yokais, so he quickly connects with him, and decides to support him at the moment of their meeting. As they spend more time together, due to Yuichi ending up saving him from Draxum and taking him to the sewer to cure him, Leo begins to question his feelings and realizes that he enjoys being with Yuichi without having to go out of his way to impress him. Through his relationship with Yuichi, Leo also reflects on his past and his sense of belonging within his family. He begins to remember how he felt displaced by his siblings, seeing that each of them had qualities that managed to stand out, made Leo feel the need to know exactly who he was and show what he was capable of so he decides to be the doctor to make it his way to contribute to the team and find his place. This is reinforced by the fact that his interest in Yuichi was sparked not only by his physical appearance, but also by the fact that Yuichi chose him out of all the yokais in the place, to ask him for advice, without needing to demonstrate any skill, something that made him feel special and capable. As the relationship progresses, Leo strives to make Yuichi happy and protect him at all times, he doesn't mind showing his affection, and it's something he explains to Donnie, Yuichi doesn't need anything to love Leo with him, and that feeling makes Leo feel more special than when he strives to do something, that's why he always decides to protect everyone's (even his siblings). However, when he discovers the truth about Yuichi, he experiences a deep pain and confusion after a desperation to try to believe that it was a joke, it is difficult for him to forgive Yuichi, even Leo feels angry, but that anger is for him, because he knows that something was wrong from the beginning, only it was something he did not want to see, although he tries to apologize, Leo does not accept his apology, and decides to create a barrier, this would be a small part of his personality, totally serious and full of resentment that he would develop to protect himself from the pain, although in several occasions he seems to fall under Yuichi's apologies, he always forms this barrier, although he knows that he is only fooling himself, and that in reality if he wants to forgive Yuichi, it is demonstrated at the moment that this heals him, he drops some jokes and is empathetic, demonstrating once again that with Yuichi he feels free and natural without showing what he is capable of just being himself, but again he returns to hide his feelings. It is when he decides to ask his whole family for advice, it all comes down to the same thing, they will know that no matter what Leo's decision is, it will be the right thing to do and they trust him. When Yuichi finally decides to sacrifice himself, Leo realizes that he wants Yuichi to live, and he knows that making him suffer is not something that would make him feel good at all. At the end of the story with his mixed feelings, Leo decides to put himself first and take his time to heal, showing great emotional maturity. In the end, Leo will eventually learn that it is possible to forgive but most importantly love himself, which allows him to accept his place in the story and demonstrate his love for Yuichi. Just because you love a person doesn't mean you're going to forgive them easily, and it's something that is a big mistake in this type of story. Leo and his emotional journey is complex and realistic, showing the healing process after a betrayal and the importance of learning to forgive, both others and yourself.
-The role of accepting yourself as you are and being able to redeem yourself.
Tumblr media
Although the story has Yuichi and Leo as the main characters, I feel that Yuichi is the one the story revolves around, and the protagonist of the story. We meet Yuichi, and although his story is different from Samurai Rabbit, the character has the same essence, only some things change due to the story (something that fails in some stories that try to do the same thing), his evolution is a journey of self-discovery and redemption. From the beginning, we see that Yuichi is a complex character with many layers, and as the story progresses, it is clear that he is struggling with his own inner demons. Yuichi's story is painful, but they let you see that Yuichi was always impulsive and arrogant, the only home was with his aunt, so when she passed away, it was evident that he had nowhere else to go, that's when he decided to run, and although he had some places where they could train him and treated him well, Yuichi's attitude was something that didn't fit, this made him run into Big Mom and she took advantage of the attitudes he had for her own benefit, increasing his ego the moment he started fighting in the Nexus. When he met Leo, Yuichi quickly portrays everything he dislikes about him, though this is because he sees himself reflected in Leo. However, as he spends time with Leo and the Hamato's, he begins to show his true personality: playful, teasing, and vulnerable. He is drawn to Leo because it gives him a sense of home and belonging that he has never experienced before. Throughout the story, Yuichi struggles with his feelings and his role in the mission with Draxum. Although he initially tries to prioritize the mission, his feelings for Leo lead him to question his own motivations, these are small moments at first, which may go unnoticed everything comes to a different point when the day of their rooftop date arrives and Leo gives him the necklace in the shape of swords, realizing that true love is one that will ask for nothing in the face of affection received, Yuichi accepts his feelings at this point, although he does not say it openly, it is clear that from this event Yuichi loves Leo in a genuine way, this is demonstrated when Leo is injured and Yuichi does not hesitate to protect him and heal his wounds, forgetting the armor, and showing Leo that he is more important than the armor. Things finally become clear to Yuichi when they go on their last date at the skating rink, where he finally admits that he loves Leo, although it is too late. Although he knows he has made mistakes in the past and feels guilty about them, he is willing to do anything to protect Leo and his family, even if it means sacrificing his own life. Revealing the truth when Leo asks him to, this time if he wanted to redeem himself he would tell absolutely the whole truth, so he doesn't hesitate to do it, this time he is not going to run as he did years ago, this time he is going to face the problem for the person he loves the most, without looking for anything in return. After the sacrifice and Yuichi's decision to return to life after remembering his aunt, realizing that the part that had hidden his true self, will be the one that will help him to correct his mistakes, demonstrating his growth as a character and his commitment to do the right thing. Although he knows that the road to redemption will be difficult, he is determined to strive to be a better person, both for himself and for those he loves (As I said, Yuichi is no longer going to run, and the fact that he has decided to live, strongly symbolizes this fact, as he will not run towards the easy path of death, this time he will take the short path, which will make him grow). Ultimately, Yuichi's story is one of love, forgiveness and redemption. Through his relationship with Leo, he learns to accept himself and to find true happiness and a sense of belonging in love and connection with others.
-Final Opinion
Tumblr media
It is clear that "WWC" is an incredible story in depth and character development, dealing with complex themes such as betrayal, forgiveness and personal growth. The unique perspective of telling the story from the point of view of the betrayer, Yuichi, adds an additional layer of complexity and emotion to the plot. The handling of the relationships between the characters is another highlight of the story. The way the connection between Yuichi and Leo develops, as well as the interactions between the Hamato brothers, authentically reflects the complexities of human relationships. In addition, the exploration of themes such as self-love and redemption adds additional emotional depth to the story. The narrative's brisk and involving pace, along with the carefully crafted details and emotional moments, make it difficult to put "WWC" down. In addition, the way the story addresses the consequences of betrayal and the importance of forgiveness provides valuable lessons about the power of love and understanding. In short, "WWC" is a story that not only entertains, but also invites reflection on universal and deeply human themes. Its innovative approach and masterful execution make it a truly memorable and meaningful read.
When Worlds Collide, the title is also essential, both Leo and Yuichi live in different worlds, when it seems they can finally fit together, is when at the least unexpected moment, those worlds collide due to the circumstances and reasons why they met in the first place, that's why they end up colliding with each other, but that must be something that will have to be repaired in due time. Because everyone around us has their own story to tell, a different world in our own mind, and you have no idea how much I identified with this fanfic, because I have been through that situation and it is very difficult to overcome it (You never do it 100%), but that doesn't mean we can't improve and grow, being experiences make us improve and understand more how life is or how our people around us are, so even though it is painful, this fanfic is so realistic that makes you identify with some of the people in one way or another.  That's why I started this analysis telling the role of each character, until I got to the main characters, because I felt it was more appropriate, besides I had a lot to say about Leo and Yuichi. And believe me, there are more things I would like to say, like the importance of the necklace Leo gives Yuichi, or the fact that Yuichi is bloodthirsty and always looking to fight, but I feel that many of these things are better detailed in the story, so I felt that telling something that makes the fanfic clear was a little unnecessary, and I wanted to focus more on other things that I noticed throughout the story.
If you just read the fanfic once, I recommend you to do it again, since you will notice many things that maybe you didn't notice before, and it really makes you spend a nice time besides it is a deep story and it deserves you to read it again many times. I don't know if there will be a second part or not (Since this story revolves around the first season), and I would love to see a second part with the second season, taking several points, for example how is Yuichi and Leo's relationship, or how is Yuichi's coexistence with the other brothers, if the theme of Draxum's redemption will be treated, the plot of Big Mom with Shredder, and how the theme of Ninpo and the Hamato story will be taken, etc. I'm really looking forward to being able to read a continuation, but that's something to be decided by the creator herself, so all I can say is that this story is a spectacular and one of the best fanfics there can be, whether you like shipp or not, it's a story that deserves to be read by everyone, even those who don't know about the Ninja Turtles, since as I said, the themes it deals with are very realistic and deserve to be discovered, without a doubt this kind of stories show that fanfics are not only fangirl stuff, it also tells history and is an art that is underestimated, but without a doubt when you discover it, it can be one of the best things you read, what are you waiting for to suffer again reading When Worlds Collide?

001 with Mutsaura for the ask thing?
heavy breathing
you got it!! i'm happy to answer this!! i never get to talk about them except for with my friend allan (@holyhounddog, follow him! he makes amazing art.)
HERE WE GO!! mutsaura:
- when i started shipping it: i started shipping it back when the :re chapters were still coming out, specifically when mucchan and sanny started to team up. i immediately fell in love with the pairing. it very quickly replaced mutsurie as my favorite mutsuki pairing and has remained as my number one. there's something so spicy about them that just piques my interest. toxic yaoi to healthy yaoi (in the epilogue). DELICIOUS.
- my thoughts: probably in my top five tokyo ghoul ships. not exactly sure where but yeah. they have so much going for them- size difference, mutual understanding of each other, making each other worse, going from toxic to healthy, etc. (fun fact: my crush and i have the same exact size difference as mutsaura, though we are both girls). they're both really hot. they also stayed close with each other after the events of the final arc too and that makes me sooo happy. they really grew together and found wellness together.
- what makes me happy about them: i think that shinsanpei could offer mutsuki some sort of safety that no one else could. sanny is a man who accepted all of mutsuki, all of his faults and flaws and errors. he wasn't someone mutsuki had to hide even a portion of himself from. sanny accepted him at his craziest and unhealthiest, though sanchan was pretty crazy and unhealthy himself, and stayed with him as he got better too. i think they could be true soulmates. maybe they had a period of time where they thought it was only their craziness that brought them together, but they realized it was so much more than that.
- what makes me sad about them: i think that during their healing processes, there was a LOT of unraveling of the poor ways in which they treated each other during their dual insanity. it was a very emotional period of time for the both of them. i think that mutsuki also had to learn to love in a new way that wasn't pure obsession. i think he offered himself in that way to sanny but sanny downright refused, and it made mutsuki lash out cuz he felt unloved, but he came to understand shinsanpei's reasoning for doing so.
(i'm skipping over the fanfic questions bc i don't really read fanfic at all anymore, whoops)
- who i'd be comfortable with them ending up with if not each other: for mutsuki, definitely urie. though, i don't really see anyone else for sanchan. i know people ship him with touma but i feel indifferent towards that.
- my happily ever after for them: they ultimately leave anything related to ghouls and travel the world together. they end up with a cat that they carry around in one of those pet backpacks as they travel too. they end up living somewhere by the ocean, by a beach. they live a calm and unassuming life, not forgetting the people they used to be but forgiving themselves for it. they send postcards to the old quinx members and the kaneki family periodically too. AAGGHH!!
- who is the big/little spoon: i think mutsuki would feel emasculated for a bit if sanny tried to be the big spoon for him. so mutsuki was the big spoon at all times for a while. but mutsuki eventually caved, tentatively allowing sanny to be the big spoon. they agreed that if mutsuki felt too uncomfortable they would stop immediately. mutsuki was very tense at first, but slowly relaxed into shinsanpei's arms. it felt very nice for him. he'd never allowed anyone to hold him like that. he can't get enough afterwards. nowadays sanchan is the usual big spoon.
- what is their favorite non-sexual activity: bathing and showering together. mutsuki was very averse to the bathtub for a long time, because of his childhood trauma. he got extremely triggered and broke down the first time they tried the bathtub together, so they kind of worked up to it more gradually after that. it's now a fun activity they like doing a lot.
hope these are good :3

How did all the sides meet each other? For the wolf bane au!
I answered most of this here, but have now some more info figured out XD
Logan and the twins met when Logan wandered into their forest in search of a safe, discreet and good place to live to not get found out by hunters. (Even if witches are more accepted they are still on thin ice when it comes to that acceptance). He was around 25 then so he's been living with them for a while
The twins had seen Virgil pass by before but never really interacted with him until he pretty much crash landed on Logan's cottage porch during a sudden thunder storm, straining his wing in the process, so even if it wasn't storming he wouldn't be able to fly for a bit. Logan had no problem making the cottage bigger on the inside to give a spot specifically for Virgil whenever he's visiting.
Logan first met Patton when the human was 19. Having spent 3-4 years with the hunters before that in training before being allowed out on the field. Took Logan random meetings and 5 years before Patton realised not every magical creature and beast was evil and deserved to be hunted down and brought to justice. Patton is unsure where to go tho if i were to leave the hunters, but Logan gives him some ideas and even offer for him to live with them for a bit as Patton unlearns all the bad stuff the hunters have taught him. Tho... Virgil is less than pleased to find out what Patton was doing beforehand. and the twins are divided in their behaviour, Remus loving to scare Patton any chance he gets while Roman in mostly observing before he starts to interact. Patton is also apprehensive about the twins because he have heard horror stories of what the fey can do if they get your name. Now for Janus.
Janus met Logan first when he woke up after Logan found him badly wounded and almost unconscious. He was unsure how to feel but if the witch wanted him dead... why go through the trouble of healing him.
Meeting Remus was chaotic to say the least, Remus find it funny to just appear out of nowhere so he almost gave Janus a heart attack the first time. meeting Roman was less hectic, they met when Janus was strong enough to leave the cottage. Roman was helping spring come by easing the trees and flowers awake by singing.
Now... Janus didn't have much choice in meeting Virgil. He woke up from a nap to find himself getting glared at by a miffed vampire who was perched atop one of the bookshelves. only reply he got when saying hi was a hiss. Took Logan being the middle man for them to even being able to talk because Virgil despised Janus early on, because he was a werewolf. (took him a while to realise his coven upbringing was faulty on how werewolves were as people)
Now Patton, they met last, but Janus heard a bit about him from the others and he was warming up to the idea until he learned Patton was a hunter. Took a lot of work for Janus to start trusting Patton and for Patton to earn Janus's trust.

Let's Talk Whump
Welcome to Let’s Talk Whump, a series of interviews that spotlight the amazing people in our whump community! I’m Malice and I’ll be your host today.
Here today to talk all things whumpy is the fabulous @flowersarefreetherapy!
It’s an honor to have you here! Do you want to start us off with a fact or two about yourself?
Hi! I’m Marz, I’m a baby adult, and newer here to the whump scene! My favorite color is blue and I enjoy a huge variety of music. I have a Golden Retriever named Guinevere who is five years old and loves swimming, chasing tennis balls, and running through corn fields. Yeah, that’s about it!
Let’s get straight to the point. What does whump mean to you?
As much as I love the hurt part of it, whump to me is about healing. It’s about picking yourself up even after life has beaten you into the ground. It’s finding your people who will help you and stand by your side on good and bad days. It’s taking those little steps towards healing, then looking back one day and realizing just how far you’ve come and how much you’ve accomplished. The pain and whumping of characters is horribly fun, but it’s the recovery and knowledge that there is something to lose that makes whump for me.
How did you find the whump community and what made you want to join?
So, I found the whump community purely by accident by jumping through writing blogs on Tumblr about three years ago, I think?? It was around 2019-2020 and I was looking for writing prompts when I stumbled onto @ashintheairlikesnow’s blog and learned there was a whole community dedicated to the hurt/comfort plotlines I had been reading all my life. Really what made me want to join was seeing there was an audience for the whump I was writing and the acceptance of OCs I was struggling to find in other writing circles. So I lurked for a while and then made the decision to join!
Do you think that your view of whump has shifted since you discovered it?
My view on whump has stayed the same, but what I write about has expanded. I’ve been exploring the BBU sandbox with different characters and different perspectives. It’s been a good challenge and one I look forward to continuing!
Everyone’s favourite question: what are your favourite whump tropes?
Dehumanization and noncon are two of my favorites. What makes them so appealing to me is the loss of autonomy and the way it can fully break a character. Not only that, but it allows for some very fun power dynamics that I really enjoy in whump. Alongside that, those two tropes lead to the characters learning how to rebuild their world, their trust of other people, and what kind of life they want to make as part of their future. The healing that’s involved in both these tropes is messy and hard and something that is fought for, always with the support of those around them.
Would you mind sharing a favourite piece you've written? Hype yourself up, we want to hear it!
This is one of my favorite pieces! I love Thad’s breakdown here and while writing it, having that insight into how his past training impacts how he sees himself and sees the kids they’ve taken in. Another really fun piece I love is this one, mainly for the emotion and heartbreak of it all.
Aww Thad! So much emotion in “You Are My Sunshine” ! Do you have a standard writing routine?
Chaos!! *evil laughter here* Just kidding (mostly). I tend to write when the inspiration strikes and knock out large chunks of writing at a time. Sometimes I’ll write bit by bit, especially when life is crazy, but I prefer to have the uninterrupted chunks of time. Usually I have caffeine with me as well to help the writing process speed along, in which my poison of choice there is Dr. Pepper!
And do you find some things are easier to write than others?
Dialogue! I love writing every bit of it! Using the words to both reveal and hide characters’ motives, changing what they want to say into what they can’t, playing around with hidden meaning in the phrases chosen: all of it is so good and makes it so fun to write! If I could write scenes that are all dialogue I would
Is there anything you're working on at the moment?
Something I’ve been working on for a while is the next part of my Hold On series. It’s about to get sticky and complicated, so I'm working on how to get all the characters going the way I want them to. Of course, that’s not going to happen, but I’m trying to at least plot a path for the characters to run down.
Do you have a joke or pun you would like to share to spread some smiles today?
. . . . . . . wish I could be hilarious on command, but sadly I am cursed to not be.
That’s fine! Do you have any writing advice you’d like to share?
Love your writing, even the bits that seem weird or you think no one will like them. There are people who will love it and read it and scream about parts you didn’t even think were that good. You will find your writing groove and you’ll find your audience. Also, don’t delete anything! That is really important! You can always go back and edit a choppy scene or reuse a bit of dialogue, but deleting something means starting from a blank slate. Scenes can always be reworked, so keep them!
Shout out your favourite writing/whump blogs, bffs or people who've inspired you!
Oh man, oh man, there are so many people I could highlight! Seriously, this community is fantastic and wonderful and so welcoming! I had heard that about the whump community, but experiencing it for myself has been an honor. Okay, so people to shout out:
@for-the-love-of-angst (you know why. For everything, thank you <3) @eatyourdamnpears (chaos friend!) @whumpcereal (your writing! ah!), @winedark-whump (your responses to every one of my ramblings on discord always make my day), @ashintheairlikesnow (still in awe of your writing/characters) @pigeonwhumps (*waves*) @quietly-by-myself (your characters!!) @soheavyaburden (characters! Writing! plotline!), @blood-is-compulsory (screaming in the tags is always welcome!) and so many more I have probably forgotten (in which case you can yell at me in the comments)
Seriously, go check out each and every one of these people! They are amazing and so so so cool and you won’t regret it at all!
Finally, is there anything you'd like to add?
Thank you for this opportunity and to everyone for making this community so welcoming!
Thank you for joining us today, @flowersarefreetherapy !
And to all you lovely folk at home, have a whump-derful day!

Oh please I need to know about the des mafia au! 😘
YES god this one lives in my head fucking rent-free
wip title game
desolas mafia au
so this one actually started as a bit of a crackpot idea with @korblez because oops the friend oc intertwiner machine ran overboard. he has a whole clan of ocs for the turian mob, and through some timeline crack figuring we figured out that in my verse, the raid that killed desolas and saren's parents happened not terribly long before his oc marius left the military to found the zuikos'i, and that just kindaaaa "hey des has the personality of a mob boss, what if" and here we are
for setup: in 2118, desinian and veniria arterius are killed in a pirate raid on the remote colony town of ifura on carthaan, leaving their sons desolas (age 24) and saren (age 5) orphaned. desolas, serving his mandatory service in the army, was a part of the responding squadron, but arrived too late, and was the one to find his parents' bodies and rescue his brother from the woods behind the house where their mother had told him to hide. a couple years later, desolas has turned bitter and aggressive, having refused therapy for his growing depression and ptsd, instead clinging tightly to his last living family members (his brother, as well as his paternal grandmother and great-grandfather) and the few friends still stationed with him. saren has gone selectively mute, never making a sound except to wail inconsolably when separated from his aforementioned 3 relatives. major marius cassi, desolas's CO at the base on taetrus he was sent to after bereavement leave, sees the potential in him that's being smothered by his own downward spiral, and his heart breaks for him. when events in his own life lead marius to say "fuck it", leave the military, and found his own criminal organization, he makes the offer to desolas to leave with him and join him.
in the main verse, des of course turns him down, wanting the stability of the military so he can make sure his little brother will be provided for, but in this au he accepts, and joins marius in founding the zuikos'i. from there, i have a sort of trilogy:
the first fic is the setup, following both desolas and saren. with desolas we see the founding of the zuikos'i and his relationship with marius, finding a surrogate father figure in him as he navigates his own grief and trauma that he hasn't been allowing himself to process because he felt that saren needed him more. with saren, we stay home with the rest of the cassi family and watch him slowly heal and grow in his own right, and through his internal monologue learn more about what this little (selectively) mute child has seen that he will never give voice to.
in the second, we fast forward several years. this one is desabrudas-centric; desolas is a fully-fledged mob boss in his own right, while his old friend from the taetrus base valis abrudas has become an officer. both of them still remember the other and the bond they shared, and regret not being able to stay together, and hope the other is doing well. when a chance encounter pits them against each other, desolas gets a wild hare up his ass to pull valis over to his side, while she becomes determined to bring him in one way or the other, each remembering who the other used to be craving what they used to have. so begins a game of cat-and-mouse, a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers dance across the stars; the only question is, will she drag him back to the hierarchy by his crest, or will he sway her over to a life of crime?
the third main fic is kryterius. in this au, nihlus's father never dies, and nihlus grows up to be a rough-and-tumble terminus merc just like his parents before him. saren, meanwhile, is an enforcer, and isn't particularly invested in the job, but it's a good outlet for the destructive energy his biotics make while letting him pursue other interests on the side, plus he idolizes his big brother, so he's willing to stick with it. they cross paths by chance during a skirmish, and then keep crossing paths, to the point nihlus starts to mock saren that it's because saren is into him. while saren venting about the annoying shithead bastard freelancer who he definitely doesn't think is attractive no sir that keeps getting in his way, marius overhears and takes a surprising amount of interest, and saren is tasked with bringing nihlus in, alive. along the course of the hunt, saren slowly unravels more about this annoying red freelancer and his connection to marius - and, against his will, realizes he actually kinda doesn't want to throttle him too hard.
so, basically: heavily extremely self-indulgent au featuring a lot of friend worldbuilding (like, this would be a joint project, this would be a NoisyNoiverns-korblez collab crossover extravaganza patent pending) and des being a smarmy bastard and saren being a pining maybe-demi gay mess, thank you for your time

Aichi & Relationships
Tumblr media
Aichi doesn’t feel like he’s worthy of someone else’s love (romantic, platonic, familial, etc), or that anyone outside of his family would really want to love or care about him. He already doesn’t have a high view of himself to begin with, formed from years upon years of bullying and harassment.
Like, there is no understating how shocked he was when people actually started to want to be around him and be friends when he started to play Vanguard. He was even more shocked when Kamui started to call him ‘big brother’ consistently and meant it, or when others started to look up to him and idolize him like Shingo, Gaillard, or Neve.
And if someone ever confesses romantic love to him, that would just make him go ‘Aichi.exe has stopped working’ for a bit. He probably might not even pick up on it at first either unless there is something super explicit like a kiss to accompany it, and even then it will take him some time to process it all.
This just shows how negative a view of he has for himself if the idea of someone actually loving him is so unbelievable, like it’s something that couldn’t ever happen outside of his mother, deceased father (Got a whole HC about Aichi’s dad that I’ll post eventually about), and Emi. The image of it just wasn’t there. After all, he sees himself as nothing special, especially not before picking up Vanguard.
Tumblr media
Though, even after picking up Vanguard, he still doesn’t view himself that great overall. He sorta forgets those feelings when he is with his friends thankfully, but they come back when he’s feeling depressed or after a giant failure (After his Psyqualia fight with Kai, during LJ after learning Kai got reversed because of him, during Asia Circuit, and after Legion Mate are just some of the major examples).
It’s almost like he slips back to the shy and weak person he used to be despite all his growth when those episodes happen, always going to beat himself up instead of focusing on the positives. I feel like this definitely started to happen after he lost to Tetsu in Season 1, almost like he had this pressure on him to not fail again because it not only would let his friends down, but he could even lose them in the process.
The last thing Aichi Sendou wants is to be alone again. He is so desperate for companionship in all forms, and that is why he always pushes himself so hard for his loved ones even to the point of self destruction. It’s also why he even was so willing to seal himself up in Legion Mate in the first place, to isolate himself forever just to protect those who decided to give him love and companionship when he himself didn’t see himself worthy of it.
Tumblr media
His self view does get better after he accepts and moves on post Legion Mate and into G thankfully (wisdom with maturity and being on his own in America really allowing him to see that he can be strong on his own while still connected to his loved ones back home), but there are times that he sometimes does fall back temporarily, especially if he inconveniences someone he cares about.
Though, all it really takes is a gentle reminder from a loved one to get him to come back, to remind him that he is loved and he is being too stubborn and hard on himself when he doesn’t need to be. And that he’s great not because of only his Vanguard skills, but because of who he is on the inside.
The process of healing, in any form, is a marathon not a sprint. It takes time. However, Aichi appreciates all those who do care about and love him, and returns that love more strongly than probably most people on the planet. He is truly a selfless, caring, loving, kind, soul who while has many scars, has been able to move forward into the future one step at a time.
And I think that’s beautiful. It’s one one of the many things about my blue raspberry paladin prince that I love oh so very much ;;;;.

// Despite Volkner’s constant battle to keep his hold on the Sunyshore gym, as well as his stubbornness letting him keep up with the rest of the city and the systems he himself has designed and built for it— he really is not all that happy. There are too many negative thoughts and associations that go into all of it, from his father to his reputation in the city, as well as feeling tied down to the city with all his responsibilities and duties. He still puts up with all of it, even when it’s far from healthy for him, just because that’s all he really knows how to do.
After coming back from Hisui and taking his gym back from his father, Volkner keeps making an effort to keep it up and running, with varying degrees of results— until one day, a few years later, his uncle approaches him to talk, and in the middle of it Palmer makes him an offer. Joining the Battle Frontier with his own facility as one of the Battle Brains.
It took some thinking and basically breaking all Battle Tower time records to make his way up there and challenge Palmer himself, but Volkner finally found it in him to accept the offer once the battle was over and he just barely defeated his uncle. Preparations began soon after, Volkner eventually officially handing the Sunyshore gym to Barry, handling the training for some actual staff to handle the power plant in his place, and moving on to start working on what will later become his own battle facility. Palmer gave him free reign to work on it from scratch, and so Volkner spent a good while drafting the blueprints for it himself before getting them approved and construction starting. While the facility itself was being built, he trained with Palmer to be completely sure of being on the same level as the other Battle Brains, as well as taking that time to further perfection his battle style and gimmick for his facility.
It all takes a lot after Hisui, Volkner deciding to implement much of what he learned in his time there into his facility. He particularly uses a lot the strong and agile styles, as well as battles with multiple ‘mons at once, and the constant moving and running around is something that has really been ingrained in him, habits hard to die by now. He tends to rotate the battles of the day between single battles, double and triple. After all the work and training they have put into it together, Volkner also is much less reluctant to keep Zapdos away and much more eager to give it his all in a battle and calling forth the legendary titan.
One of the first things he did once leaving the Sunyshore gym and ensuring the power plant was taken care of was moving in with Roark as well. It’s something they both have wanted for a good while already, but their duties to their cities had made impossible until now. He tends to simply call Zapdos to travel to the Battle Frontier when he’s needed, or when he hears some challenger is close to surpassing his brotal challenge and reach his position.
Despite handing off to other people most things in Sunyshore, Volkner it actually still responsible for the power plant— he has simply reduced his own workload and allowed other people o run any daily maintenance or job that has to be done. Volkner himself is only required at the power plant about twice a month for the bigger maintenance works, as well as being ready to come at any time were an emergency to happen, but for the most part he’s simply sent reports of the days and reviews them to ensure everything is still in working other.
It’s a slow process, but with his new position as a Battle Brain, Volkner truly begins to heal from his past and starts learning to let go when he has to.

Shadow Work Sunday is something I've decided to start to give you aid with your healing journey. You don't need to answer anything thru a comment, but the information I'll be sharing with you may be something you may want to save or write down to help you along. Shadow work isn't easy stuff. We're acknowledging hidden facets about ourselves that we've suppressed or stored away to deal with at another time. Whether this is consciously or subconsciously, these suppressed emotions play a huge role in our day to day lives. Peeling ourselves apart like an onion will no doubt make you confront things that happened throughout your life that need to be dealt with. Especially if you're looking to step into your true self and integrate your dark and light sides. Tapping into your psyche and facing the things you've been avoiding or suppressing is a personal journey I urge you to take, especially if you've been through some kind of trauma. Shadow work will help you transcend toward a path of self-discovery, self-restoration, self-empowerment, and healing. Getting yourself a notebook, diary, or journal is something you're gonna need for this, along with some time to yourself so you can focus and face the depths of the emotions.
This can be really beneficial if you either can't afford a therapist or don't feel comfortable talking with someone.
A self-exploration and healing path is a journey and an awakening! This isn't easy work, but it's necessary if you're trying to step into your true self and move forward in a healthy way. As Carl Jung stated, "When we avoid our shadow, it thrives in the shadows, capable of undermining and sabotaging our lives."
Whether this is suppressed or repressed, these things can deteriorate us from the inside out. Denying any of these emotions or traumas only preserves and eternalizes our suffering.
Courage and self-acceptance are needed here. As well as empathy and forgiveness to yourself. Please don't forget that. Jung was the father of shadow work. He coined the word himself, and thru working with archetypes, he was able to recognize that our shadow and our light were linked.
This journey involves;
1. Meeting your shadow.
2. Integrating your feminine and masculine energies.
3. Transcending your ego.
4. Emerging as your true self.
Creating a safe space and journaling will allow you to process those emotions that will trigger you and let you reflect back on this journey. Reflection to questions in your shadow journal is highly recommended and pertinent to fully integrating, transcending, and transforming. It's a great place to jot down any dreams that seem to trigger emotions within you. Again, I remind you to be kind to yourself, show yourself empathy, forgive yourself, and embrace your transformation.
Learning grounding techniques ahead of time will be helpful for this process. Breath work, sound baths, meditation, affirmations, and EFT( aka tapping) can all be powerful tools for this psychological process with extraordinary benefits!
Journal prompts to begin with:
1. Reflect on a positive childhood memory that makes you happy and brings a smile to your face. How did you feel during that moment? How can that happiness from that moment bring an influence into your current perspective?
2. Now imagine you as a child standing in front of the current you. What does your inner child need to hear to feel safe, loved, and valued?
3. Stepping into your inner child once again. How does it feel being provided those words and guidance? How can you create a sense of safety and comfort for your younger self?

Note
I was wondering if you could do a game of thrones preferences of the reacting to you having a miscarriage. I know this could be triggering so you don't have to do it.
Thank you for the request lovely. I hope that this finds you well.
Jaime - Jaime would blame himself for what happened. No matter how much you reassure him that he was not responsible, he would still blame himself for what happened to you. In his mind it would be about his inability to protect you. He would stay by your side every waking moment after that. He would never let you go anywhere alone, afraid that something else might happen to you. When he finally does confront the reality that you lost your baby he would break down in tears, laying in your arms as you both cry for hours.
Sandor - Sandor would show no emotion about the event but he would be secretly broken hearted. At first you’d be really angry that it seems like he doesn’t care but in the end it’s just because he doesn’t show emotions very well. In reality he would be so upset. When you’d first told him you were pregnant he was terrified to be a father. However he would grow to love your unborn baby and he would find more confidence in himself as a future father only to have it all taken away by tragedy. It would completely break his heart.
Petyr - Petyr would be confused as to what happened. Petyr Baelish is the kind of man who needs to be in control of his surroundings. He wants to know what’s going on so his way of coping with the information is to try and figure out what happened. He would read up on miscarriages and how they can happen just to see if there’s some kind of explanation for how it could have happened. In the end, he makes peace with the fact that it has happened and it can’t be reversed. Then he’d be there for you until you both begin to heal.
Jon - Jon would be totally numb after hearing the news. Jon would very fully go through all the steps of the grieving process except at the end isn’t acceptance. It’s numbness. He wouldn’t know what to do or say to help you. He would just be at a total loss. He would feel lonely because he would feel like the only person who understands his pain is you and he’s afraid to be with you because he doesn’t have any idea how to help comfort you. He would completely isolate and spend a lot of time alone until he starts feeling like himself again.
Robb - Robb would be a mess. He would be completely broken over what happened. To Robb, the idea of having a child with you is the peak of his love for you. So when you tell him that you’ve miscarried it breaks his absolute heart. He wanted nothing more than to bring a child into the world with you and when he learns you’ve lost that, he is in pieces. He would cry for a good long while, allowing himself the time to recover. Once he’s had his moment he is by your side, telling you how sorry he is and how much he loves you no matter what.
Tywin - Tywin would be shocked but he would maintain his composure. Tywin is a planner. He likes to have a plan for the future, including the future of your child. When you lose your child he switches from being in the mode of planning for your baby to nothing very suddenly. Being so practical he would suddenly start planning for what to do now that you’ve lost your child. It’s just his way of coping with the hardship, not knowing any other way to help than to use his logic and good sense to try and straighten things out.
Bronn - Bronn would be in absolute shock when you tell him. For Bronn the idea of being a father was a scary enough thought all on its own. It would take him a while to become comfortable with the idea that he was really going to be a father. However, eventually he does come around and he even gets excited about the prospect. So when you tell him that you lost the baby it is like everything comes to a screeching halt for him. He doesn’t know how to react, what to say or do. He’s at a total loss for words until he comes back to reality.
Jorah - Jorah would be downright nauseous when you tell him. He would immediately hug you, telling you how sorry he is and how he wishes that he could change things. He would go through a roller coaster of emotions throughout the process. At times he would be overflowing with love for you. During other times he would be inconsolably depressed. Sometimes he would be so angry at the world. Other times he would be filled with anxiety at the prospect of something else happening. He would be a mess.
Ramsay - Ramsay would immediately think someone did something to make you miscarry. He would be furious, demanding to know who hurt you to make something so awful happen. When you tell him that it’s nobody’s fault, that it just happened, he would be confused. However he would stay more angry than anything. Angry at himself for not protecting you, angry at the world, angry at the gods. Eventually he would see you cry over the loss and that would be what brings him back to reality when he comes to comfort you.
Stannis - Stannis would be by your side at all times. As soon as you tell him, his thoughts would be with you from that very first moment. Making sure that you aren’t too badly hurt, comforting you, getting you anything you need to help you make the transition. You are the love of his life and he would want you to be well taken care of after something so traumatic. Once he knows you’re okay he would allow himself a moment in private to mourn but he would recover fairly quickly for your sake. No matter what, he wants you taken care of.
Oberyn - Oberyn would be devastated. Oberyn loves you with all of his heart and he would want a child with you more than anything so when you tell him that you miscarried he would be really disappointed. He would want to be by your side all the time, offering anything that he can to comfort you. I think that as much as he is saddened by it he knows that you’re feeling worse and he wants to be there for you as much as he possibly can. He would spoil and pamper you endlessly just for a chance to see you smile at him again.
Sansa - Sansa would turn to her spirituality. She would be so broken up without knowing anything to do other than to pray. She would think about what her mother and father would do if they were in her place and that leads her to the old weirwood tree at Winterfell. She would pray to the old gods for strength and guidance and the ability to take care of you in your time of need. It would be the only thing, other than you, to bring her comfort about what happened. She would pray over you every night as well to help you feel at peace.
Dany - Dany would want to try to fix things to the best of her ability after you tell her. She would want to make you feel better as well as herself. She would bring you anything you could possibly need or want to help cheer you up. She’d tell you stories, sing songs, laugh with you. All to make you feel better about what happened. However she knows first hand that it isn’t that simple. You need time to mourn. Eventually you would tell her that by asking for some time to grieve and she would join you, taking time to mourn your baby.
Brienne - Brienne would bury herself in work when you tell her about what has happened. She would be really sad and the two of you would spend some time alone together, crying and just feeling your feelings. Eventually though she wouldn’t be able to take it anymore and she would make up some excuse about work. She would dive head first into some random project so that she has something to do to make her feel like she’s being useful. She would feel so helpless that she would want to do something she’s good at to do meanwhile.
Margaery - Margaery would be very panicked when you tell her that you miscarried. She would immediately be on ultra alert mode. She would be scared that you would get hurt again. She would be terrified that the process hurt you. She would constantly check up on you to ask you if you’re hurting or if you need anything. Everything would make her jump after she hears the news, simply unable to cope with the stress of day to day life. She wouldn’t know what to do with herself and she wouldn’t know how to comfort you either.

How Touya can be Saved
I’ve talked before about why I think Shouto will save Touya, and now I want to talk about how. No doubt saving the eldest Todoroki child will be a combined family effort, but I want to specifically talk about Shouto’s role in this because it will be the culmination of his character arc. I also want to tie in how Dabi can make himself seen and understood by crying tears of blood in front of his family. Finally receiving validation after desperately needing it his entire life will be the key to his salvation.
As of chapter 298, Shouto already empathizes with Touya; he feels Touya’s hate and even recognizes Dabi is the person Shouto himself was before the Sports Festival. Shouto is extending his empathy and understanding to his brother the same way he reacted to Iida during the Stain arc in chapter 53, “Todoroki to Iida.”
Tumblr media
Having empathy for Dabi’s resentment is only the first step in reaching him, though. That shared rage doesn’t completely validate Dabi’s pain as an abuse victim, which is something Shouto has yet to recognize about himself. Shouto’s anger has always been about how Endeavor abused Rei to the point she had to be institutionalized and not how Endeavor isolated him, physically abused him, and robbed him of his childhood. Shouto probably hadn’t stopped to think about how the other Todorokis perceived their family situation because, like most families in this situation, no one talked about the abuse - Shouto even expresses surprise and agreement in 192 when Natsuo confronts Endeavor with the entire family’s pain. Shouto thinks back to the memory of wanting to play with his siblings and realizes that specific day didn't only stay with him but that his siblings remember it and were impacted by it, too.
Tumblr media
Like Natsuo, Dabi knows the root cause of their family’s dysfunction was Endeavor, and while he had a problem with what he perceived as each individual member’s blindness to their abuse, he ultimately doesn’t blame the victims and instead assigns all the blame onto Endeavor. Even 10 years later, he still calls Rei ‘okaasan’, Fuyumi ‘Fuyumi-chan’, and Natsuo ‘Natsu-kun’ because he still cares about them and recognizes all of them as victims of a corrupt hero who never set out to be a husband and a father and only used them.
However, Touya's own victimhood has never been validated - in 301 and 302, it was seen that he was the scapegoat for his family, and no matter how much he tried to earn back his father’s approval or call his father out on his unfair treatment, no one was ever on Touya’s side. His mother told him to look away from his father as an example instead of standing up to Endeavor for herself and her children, and Fuyumi and Natsuo were too young to understand and couldn't relate to what Touya went through as Endeavor's prized heir. Touya needs validation that he was abused and neglected. He always has. He still does.
The person in the perfect position to understand what it’s like to be on the receiving end of Endeavor’s impossibly high standards, obsession with surpassing All Might, and quirk training is Shouto. But in order to fully empathize with Dabi and show his brother that he can relate, Shouto needs to acknowledge that he too was a victim. In 292, Dabi basically asks Shouto to validate the pain and suffering Dabi had just exposed in the battlefield, but his question still stands unanswered.
Tumblr media
To reach Touya, Shouto also has to show Dabi what kind of person he is - as in, Shouto has to separate himself from Endeavor’s shadow and establish that he too has been holding Endeavor accountable for his actions. We as readers know that Shouto’s entire character arc has been about asking himself, “Who am I?” Often, children who grow up in abusive households struggle with their identity and Shouto is a perfect example of this. This is why he chose his hero name to be his name: Shouto. He’s learning who he is after years of trying so hard to not be his father and becoming exactly like him - cold, distant, tunnel visioned, hateful. It wasn't until he met Inasa that he realized this and wanted to right his wrongs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like Inasa, Dabi doesn’t know Shouto at all. Both Inasa and Dabi knew Endeavor and assumed Shouto would be just like him. Inasa had a valid reason to think this of Shouto of course, because Shouto was standoffish and dismissive during the UA entrance exams, but at the time of the provisional license exam Inasa hadn’t learned that Shouto had recognized this toxic side of himself and had begun working towards the kind of person he wants to be. Shouto had to show Inasa the real him, and in a similar way, he will have to prove this to Dabi. Dabi hasn’t seen Shouto struggle with his identity like we the readers have; Dabi only sees his usurper making headlines and willingly interning with Endeavor. He probably assumes Shouto is proudly training to carry their father’s legacy. Dabi isn’t privy to the nuanced relationship Shouto or their siblings have with their father. All Dabi knows is that Endeavor is seeing and paying attention to Shouto and Shouto seemingly submitting. Dabi has no idea THIS is how it really is:
Tumblr media
Showing others who he is is a way for Shouto to process his own trauma and establish his identity. As the son of the #2 hero, Shouto has always had to prove himself to others - that he’s not his father. He’s even had to prove this to himself by accepting his fire side and making it his own in spite of his father repeatedly calling him a creation or a masterpiece. Not being like his father is such a defining trait for Shouto that he feels compelled to tell kindergarteners during the re-licensing exam his life story and his trauma. He literally bore his heart out to these kids because he knew he wouldn’t get through to them unless he was genuine. I think he’ll apply this concept to Touya, too.
The thing about Shouto is that, while he hasn’t reconciled with his own status as an abuse victim, he sees himself as a survivor. He sees himself as someone who managed through a difficult situation and wants to help others get through their struggles too. That's why getting through to these kids was so important to him, why he took it so seriously. These were problematic kids, and instead of calling them brats or trying to intimidate or manipulate them, he tries to get down to their level and relate. Notice he emphasizes how much he struggled in school at first, how his relationship with his father is strained - in his mind, it's something these kids may be able to relate to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shouto is someone who sets out to understand and make others feel seen and understood. It's what makes him kind. Shouto probably understands why his father abused the entire family - Endeavor's reasons don't excuse him or earn his children's forgiveness, but it's a reason that humanizes him to Shouto. He himself was a cold, bitter person who now believes people can change if given the right opportunity and self-awareness because this is a lesson he's learned from Midoriya and Inasa. This is also something Shouto can grant Touya: understanding, a listening ear, space to be wrong, and a chance to be seen.
Tumblr media
Touya wanted and still craves to be seen, and he has to see in return. He has to realize Shouto isn't his father's puppet. He has to relate to Shouto much like Shouto is relating to him. Shouto will have to pull the same move he pulled on those kindergarteners and tell Dabi his struggles, and then show him he’s making his own path different from their father’s and that the family isn’t blindly following Endeavor anymore or letting him do what he wants. Natsuo has stood up to him, Rei has stood up to him, Fuyumi has admitted to herself she had been trying to play a happy family instead of fixing the internal mess - they as a family will have to show Dabi all of this, and he’ll have to wrap his head around it. He has to realize that his family is different from how they were 10 years ago. This is what I mean by allowing Touya space to be wrong - it’s okay for him to be wrong in assuming all these things about Shouto. Shouto won’t judge him for it.
I've talked before about how the narrative framing as of chapter 309 has set up that a person must express their feelings in a socially acceptable manner before they can be a candidate for saving, and that means crying. As soon as Midoriya saw a glimpse of little Tenko crying, he switched his mentality from "I'll never forgive you" to "I want to save that crying boy." When Toga ran away from Ochako crying, Ochako became concerned and curious. Following this pattern, it makes sense that Dabi also has to show his emotions, but it’s complicated because he can’t cry due to his burnt tear ducts. Every time we’ve seen him cry tears of blood, he’s been alone - he’ll have to cry in front of Shouto and the family for it to sink in that all of Dabi’s destruction and hate stems from deep-seated sorrow and feelings of abandonment. The family does not yet know how the fire that killed Touya started, and they have no idea that Touya’s emotions are linked to his fire and that he died because he was feeling overwhelmingly forsaken and sad. Once they find out, however, they’ll fully understand Touya (hopefully) and recognize they haven’t been understanding him at all. Saving Touya will be difficult because he has to be vulnerable and that's not something he's done as Dabi, but that's where the Todoroki family arc is headed: healing as a family.
As a side note: I’m not saying that the message the manga is giving is the correct one (how you express yourself shouldn’t be a determinant of the help you receive) but it’s what we have to work with. I also think saving Touya will be more complicated than this and will also involve Natsuo, but that’s a meta for another day! ;]

Listen to our advice, and you won't be left wondering why your boyfriend insists on carrying you down the stairs or loses his mind when you're injured by paper!
(Warnings: Possessive Behaviors, Implied PTSD, Yandere-ish)
Lucifer
Now, there's no kind way to say this, but Lucifer will think of you as small, weak, and helpless on most days. We promise it's not quite as insulting as it sounds because to him, that just makes you cuter.
Because he thinks you're so pathetic, he will want to provide for you in all sorts of ways. This includes security.
Lucifer's approach to keeping you safe is a little indirect, and it may sound a tad… invasive, but that's only because he's not able to be with you in person as often as he'd like.
He uses familiars spread across the Devildom to keep an eye on you during the day. Don't fret; these familiars aren't there to tell him about your every waking breath. Just monitor you and report back to him if something's amiss.
If there's an alert, he will drop everything to be sure that you're alright. The second he knows something's wrong, he'll be right with you within a minute, Diavolo be damned.
He may try to play it off as he just happened to be in the area if others are around, but in truth, he'd use magic to recall himself to your side.
Speaking of magic… Again, since he can't be with you as much as he wants, you may begin to notice your body getting stronger to a certain degree over your time with him. Is he secretly using magical means to strengthen your bones or make your skin harder to tear? He will never say, so best not ask.
Potential threats against you are dealt with discreetly, mostly under the guise of safeguarding the exchange program for Diavolo. No offenders will ever make it to the castle dungeon, though, as Lucifer tends to finish them off on sight... We recommend that you make yourself scarce during these times. Torture is such a nasty thing to witness...
Lucifer would like to believe that, in being with him, you're the safest that you could possibly be, but he always worries about what danger you're in while he's busy with work. A part of him blames his lack of vigilance over Lilith for her downfall, and he has strained to recover a sense of security over his loved ones ever since... Though he may come across as overbearing, just know he only watches you that closely because he couldn't bear to lose you.
Mammon
If you've won over Mammon's heart, then he's going to guard you as fiercely as a dragon does its treasure. But be warned because this can lead to confrontation...
Mammon will see himself as your bodyguard of sorts, so he'll try to be around you at all hours of the day. He'll start by making excuses like he needs study help, but after a while, he'll just hope you come to accept him as a constant fixture in your life and don't question his hovering.
He will stick very close to you in public, particularly when among other demons. He's the second strongest of his brothers, so this alone should deter most threats but don't be surprised if you see him scan the room you're in from time to time.
Take care not to hurt yourself around Mammon because he has yet to fully process how fragile the human body is. He may panic upon seeing you hurt (and he's not the most helpful when he's panicking…).
Should you get hurt when Mammon is near, you may see his protective instincts spike considerably. He will offer to carry heavy packages, refuse to let you handle sharp objects, and hold out a hand to steer you around tight corners.
Do not threat, this added level of attention is only temporary. Remind Mammon that accidents are a part of human life, and you can get yourself through them as the species normally does.
If someone actually tries to hurt you, we advise you to stay calm and focus on getting harmed as little as possible. Unfortunately, there will be no good way to talk Mammon out of fighting in your defense. It's best to focus on minimizing the damage to yourself and staying alive until help can be brought to you.
Mammon does this not to look down on you, but because he loves you so deeply, he's devastated any time he sees you hurt. Be patient with him, and he will learn to draw back his fear to a more appropriate level. Always know, though, that he worries about you constantly, so try not to give his demonic heart too many palpitations - yes?
 Leviathan
Levi is in some ways more chill than his brothers, and in others far more extreme depending on the location you find yourselves in.
If you are in his room (which you will be a lot), then he will be very relaxed. As far as he's concerned, you are in his domain and thus perfectly safe. There's no need to worry about you getting hurt or stumbling upon any rivals.
If you are together in the outside world, however, he will be very on edge. You are the most important individual in his life, so any possibility of you leaving him by death or by choice is not acceptable.
He will try his damnedest to steer you away from large crowds or packed spaces because he will be terrified of losing you in the chaos. Being in any public place where he can't see you will drive his anxiety through the roof. His imagination is quite active, and his mind is always against him.
If you are with his brothers, then he will be particularly tense. He acknowledges both their capacity to drag you into dangerous shenanigans AND steal away your affections, neither of which are options he'd like to pursue.
He will rarely let you be alone with his brothers without express permission, and even then, he has likely shot a threat to them about minding your safety (and your relationship) beforehand. As he is third strongest, only Mammon and Lucifer would ignore his "requests" but only to a point. It's a terrible mess whenever he summons Lotan in the House…
If someone else hurts you retribution will be swift (and bordering on lethal) because he's far more worried about getting back to making sure you're alright. He won't have his Henry dying on his watch, after all.
If you happen to hurt yourself, expect him to stow you away in his room for even longer than usual. Your accidental demise is a recurring fear of his, so he will need a great deal of reassurance that you are still with him and not quite at death's door just yet (yes, even if you get a papercut).
Leviathan is so protective of you because he feels like he has the most to lose if you died/left. He interacts with so few people that having even one show him patience is a game-changer. He would have the hardest time moving on should your presence ever leave him, so protecting you is the best thing he can do to protect himself from that pain in the future.
Satan
Satan's protective nature is less overt than the others, but in many ways, it's more… intense.
He's more familiar than the others with the fragility of human bodies thanks to many years of casual study. Thus, he has bulked up his knowledge of your species in earnest to help keep you safe.
What we mean to say is, fear not, you're now dating a doctor. He may not have an M.D. to his name, but he's pretty damn close.
He will want to know about any slight inconvenience you may be experiencing, from a slight headache all the way to broken bones. He prefers to diagnose your problem quickly then use any combination of magic or medicine to heal your ailments. You will rarely struggle with ongoing discomfort again!
That being said, he can be quite pushy. There will be no, "I'll just sleep it off" with him. If it can be fixed, he will fix it. Your patience be damned.
If you somehow manage to hurt yourself… He will be disappointed, but he will not deny you assistance. He will lecture you if he sees you doing potentially reckless activities, though, because it's his (self-imposed) job to patch you up afterward.
It should really go without saying that most demons know better than to hurt someone he loves. He may not be the strongest of his brothers, but he is among the least merciful, and that does make a difference.
If, for whatever reason, one actually does manage to harm you, then you have an important choice to make. Do you allow him to act on his anger or be the one to show mercy when he will not? If you'd like to be charitable, please consult our helpful material, How to Calm Your Demon Boyfriend: Tame Demons, Save Lives.
At his core, Satan worries about his demonic side because he knows how easily his Wrath can take over. So he does his best to circumvent these destructive tendencies with nurturing ones. He may come off like a worrywart, but helping you is just as much an assurance to him as it is a service to you. He's not destined to hurt you. He can heal you instead.
Asmodeus
Asmo is a free-spirited individual who would like to afford you the same freedom that he enjoys… but he knows very well how fragile the human body is. He's had many human lovers over the years, so he's very familiar with your limitations.
However, he's also aware of how capable you can be despite your perceived weaknesses (he's been friends with Solomon for years, after all).
Unfortunately, this won't stop him from worrying about your safety entirely. It's nothing personal, we assure you. He simply wants to be sure the love of his life can be with him for as long as possible.
Asmo shows his protectiveness most when confronted. He's far more worried about some demonic lowlife taking advantage of you than he is you falling off a step ladder. He understands that accidents will happen and that most are ultimately harmless, but other people? They can do you far more harm.
Due to his disposition and rank, most demons won't take his claim to you seriously. This is to their folly. Though he may not be physically strong as his elder brothers or even Beel, what he lacks in raw power he makes up for in deception.
Like Mammon and Levi, Asmo will want to be close to you out in public, but he will come across as far more relaxed than those two. This is partly due to his more developed confidence and because it makes it easier for him to charm potential threats into leaving you alone. Things are taken care of quickly after that.
Should you get injured well… Asmo will not be much help for anything aside from getting you to someone who actually can. He'd likely panic worse than Mammon, so do your best to remain calm and assure him that you will be fine after a little assistance.
His treatment of you post-injury won't differ much from how it usually is, because again, he knows that when there's a human involved - it's bound to happen.
Asmo's fear of others, both tragically and ironically, stems from his sin itself. Though he always tries to champion his partners' consent, he knows more than anyone that others can let their Lust drive them mad... His worst nightmare is letting you fall victim to one of those monsters because, frankly, he wouldn't know what to do with himself if that ever were to happen.
Beelzebub
Beel is protection incarnate. This is something he's been doing long before you met and will likely continue to do until the end of his days. Protecting those he loves is in his nature.
That being said, this means is you are dating the equivalent of a demon-shaped Doberman Pinscher, loving and loyal to you and an absolute nightmare to your enemies.
Though he doesn't feel quite the same need to hang off you as Mammon might, Beel's protection can be likened to something like a hired-bodyguard. Close, but not too close, and always vigilant almost to a territorial degree.
If someone Beel doesn't like approaches you, he may growl at them. We would recommend you heed his warning. Beel is generally a good judge of character, and if something strikes him as off, then there may be cause for concern.
Fortunately for you, Beel does not jump to conclusions nor confrontation very often. Though he may act intimidating, he won't make any moves unless given an "Okay" from you beforehand.
This, however, does NOT apply if someone actually hurts you in any way. Though he may seem sweet and wholesome, please remember, he is a demon and the demon of Gluttony at that. Someone will be eaten for their transgressions, but he would rather you not watch if possible.
Truthfully, what will scare Beel far more than possible attackers are injuries in and of themselves. He has what basic first aid is afforded to anyone who plays sports but is nowhere near qualified to save you from something life-threatening... Should you become injured or sick, it would devastate him that he can no longer take care of you. He may even be at risk of a small breakdown as a result.
The events of Celestial War have perhaps taken their heaviest toll on Beel. Whether it's true or not, he carries a lot of the blame for what happened on his shoulders... The idea of going through something like that again, but now with you, scares him more than anything. Please remember, under that kind exterior lies dormant wounds that will likely remain unhealed long after you're gone...
Belphegor
Belphegor is a strange case because, in some respects, he is one of the most possessive of the brothers... But he's also the least overtly protective.
Part of it is, yes, his inherent laziness. Following you around all day would be quite a hassle. He also can't expect you to stay in bed with him 24/7 (not that he lets that stop him from trying). Even setting up complex background machinations to keep an eye on you would be too much work...
But that doesn't mean that he leaves you alone entirely. If there is one thing that Belphegor tries to shield you from, it's his brothers. For possessive reasons, yes, but also as a form of protection.
Belphie is acutely aware of how often his brothers' shenanigans can lead to disaster. As such, he'll try to drag you out of their problems as much as possible.
It's not lost on him that the events that lead to your first demise were all due your penchant for meddling in his brothers' affairs. So in his eyes, a fairly simple and effective way to keep you out of trouble would be to keep you from them as much as possible.
As far as injuries go… "He dislikes seeing you hurt" is the least complicated way of putting things. Seeing you with major injuries obviously triggers some uncomfortable and unwanted memories for him, as it would for you. However, his emotions quickly get muddled up in it...
The sudden combination of fear, panic, shame, and anger can strike him at once and leave him in a frozen or vulnerable state... Painful for sure, but also not helpful in that situation. Minor injuries, thankfully, do not cause this reaction.
If you're injured and Belphegor appears to be going through trauma, we recommend calling for assistance from someone nearby or a different brother if possible (Satan would be a good option). Once you're stable, Belphegor will be relaxed somewhat but may need some cuddling.
Even with his lazy attitude, Belphegor does care for you and will try to keep you safe in his own way.  He may hide the intensity of his emotions behind a veil of apathy, but they run so strong that they can be paralyzing. Never doubt that he does love you, and try your best to be there for him when things become difficult...
