Difference Between Victorian Jewellery & Victotrian Artificial Jewellery
Tumblr media
You might be wondering what the difference is between Victorian jewellery and Victorian artificial jewellery - let's explore! Real Victorian jewellery, often found online or in stores, is crafted from precious metals like gold and silver, with intricate details, designs, and stones used to create antique pieces that are unique and eye-catching.
On the other hand, many people wear Victorian imitation jewellery or artificial Victorian jewellery to give the same look without spending a lot of money. Artificial Victorian jewellery is usually made of cheaper materials such as plastic or metal plated with a precious metal finish. You can find anything from a simple Victorian jewellery set to extravagant ones with a variety of shapes and sizes available for almost any occasion. Some popular choices include Victorian American diamond jewellery, which has become very popular recently due to its affordability.
Although real Victorian jewellery will last longer than artificial versions, both styles have their advantages when it comes to style and affordability.
Transitioning now into what makes Victorian Jewellery unique - it's all about the design!

Made of silver, lapis lazuli, malachite, and pink coral.
Willam Burges is best known for designing Cardiff Castle in Wales, but the architect and artist made a few brooches for the weddings of a couple of friends in 1864. (The original sketches of those pieces are at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.)

Le temps des cathédrales
On my birthday (August 3rd), I went to see Notre-Dame-de-Paris with my mom and sister at la Place des arts. As someone who's been listening to it since 1998 (and read the novel later), it truly felt like I've missed out on seeing it live, especially since I saw the biggest France/Québec musicals from the early 2000s when they came out (namely, Roméo et Juliette, Don Juan and Dracula), as well as Starmania (not when it came out, obviously). Even though the current Notre-Dame-de-Paris show isn't with the original cast (except for Daniel Lavoie!), it was really amazing.
Of course, me being me, I did a themed outfit.
Outfit rundown Dress: second-hand Moi-même-Moitié Bustier: second-hand Victorian Maiden Blouse: La petite garçonne Bag: second-hand Moi-même-Moitié Shoes: Yosuke Headdress: handmade by me Jewellery: mix of vintage, Design Festa, second-hand Moi-même-Moitié and thrifted

Having Goth! Malleus Draconia as your lover includes..
・❥Pairing: Malleus Draconia x reader
・❥Content warning: Goths (lol), GN! Reader, POC friendly, inaccurate to timeliness of game, reader with stereotypically feminine interests
・❥Authors note: ik this isn't too different from normal mal but I liked the idea, Romantic Goth Malleus 🗣🗣🗣
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Goth Malleus who's... Medieval-gothic style room gets invaded by a couple of cute and fuzzy plushies you keep at his place for when you stay over.
Goth Malleus who... Treats the plushies with immense care; tucking them into bed and keeping them as clean as possible. After all, they remind him of you.
Goth Malleus who... Often takes you out on historical museum dates, guiding you by the waist through each gallery, whilst rambling on about each object displayed.
Goth Malleus who... Responds to the cute sticky notes you leave for him with long, heartfelt poems detailing your beauty.
"Make sure you unload the drier :) love you xx"
"I adore you beyond comprehension. You consume my every thought, both whilst awake and asleep, you are my moon, sun, stars and more, you are love itself and you consume my mind, body and soul and I'm more than content with letting you consume more of me each passing day-"
You get the idea..
Goth Malleus who.. Lulls you to sleep by reading you historical writings; ranging from 19th century literature to ancient epics. When doing so, he likes having your head rested carefully on his chest. He caresses your cheek every so often.
Goth Malleus who... Wakes up earlier than you and makes you breakfast almost every morning, presenting you with a silver plate of pancakes, sliced fruit, and a mazer of homemade juice when you finally stumble downstairs after waking up.
Goth Malleus who... Owns an impressive jewellery collection of silver chains decorated with either red, green, or purple jewels, accompanied with ornate designs of either roses or dragons. Despite his extensive collection, his favourite piece of jewellery is one you gifted him; a hello kitty ring you had jokingly proposed to him with.
Goth Malleus who... Sends you a bouquet of a dozen red roses tied together with a silk ribbon, alongside a hand written letter detailing your dinner reservations- sealed with a matching black seal adorning a dragon symbol embedded into the wax each morning of your anniversary.
Goth Malleus who... One night on one of your regular nightly strolls, presents you with a gold ring embedded with a raw cut gem of your birthstone in a velvet box. Asking to be yours till the day he dies.
Goth Malleus who... Lets out a sigh of relief at your acceptance, knowing the baggage of being a prince's spouse isn't appealing to most people, promising you he'd repay you for taking up such a tedious role.
Goth Malleus who... Doesn't miss a beat when it comes to wedding planning, already having some some drafts on what your wedding would be like thanks to countless ramble sessions with Lilia.
Goth Malleus who... After months of planning and organising, managed to set your dream wedding, a surprisingly simple affair- taking place in a flower field near an old victorian mannor right as the sun was setting.
Goth Malleus who... Believes you to be the most beautiful person in the world in your wedding attire; which consisted of long custom made floral lace, in a soft shade of your signature colour with matching gold jewellery, complementing your undertones. His own attire consisted of 14th century style robes, black in colour with roses embroidered onto it.
Goth Malleus who... Seals your vows by placing a flower crown on your head and you doing the same to him- a much more intimate break from the traditional kiss.
Goth Malleus who... Only has his closest companions at the wedding; his guardian since childhood, and his two closest guards. You too, are with your two closest friends, even having Grim as your ring bearer.
Goth Malleus who... Dances with you in the field under the moonlight once the party was over and everyone had retreated to their rooms. His arms wrap around you in a warm, loving embrace whilst swaying to a familiar tune he hums.
Goth Malleus who... Takes you to a cottage in the countryside for your honeymoon, holding your hand as you both walk though hidden forest pathways admiring the beauty of nature.
Goth Malleus who... Preserves your wedding bouquet, keeping it on display in your shared room; yet another symbol of your love displayed throughout your home.
Goth Malleus who... After all the years your spend together, still keeps the hello kitty ring you gave him.
Goth Malleus who... Each year of your wedding anniversary, takes you stargazing in the exact field you got married in.
"Look Malleus!"
Malleus' eyes darted to where your finger pointed in the deep sea that was the sky; a shooting star, leaving as fast as it came.
"A shooting star, did you wish?" You asked, gaze not breaking away from the illuminated sky and your hand not leaving his.
"No, I didn't have time" He simply stated, staring at the space were the star previously was.
"And there is somthing you wish for?" You asked, now with your eyes ripped away from the veiw and on him, pooling with curiosity.
"Yes," He replied to your inquiry, still not satisfying your curiosity as you continued to stare at him. "I wish," He spoke with a sudden pause, taking a moment to lift your intertwined hands and admire your matching rings, "To continue being your husband, even in the life after this one."
Lifting your hands further to his lips, he pressed a soft kiss against your knuckle. A burning sensation made its way onto your face as you felt your stomach flutter- gosh, who's life did you save to be blessed with a man so loving? You hoped to continue being his spouse in the life after this, too.

I have no idea whether I'm asking about your canon or the unhinged madness in our DMs, but what would you say addams! Matz does for money? Like we've established that they're RICH rich but is it old money? Do they have coffers so overstuffed they probably won't have to worry about it the next few centuries? Black market trade? A law firm? I'm actually so curious about this LMAO
~lyra
oh they are RICH rich, not that they ever like to brag about it. they might have money but they’re actually very humble people underneath it all. if we overlook the huge victorian mansion, their humongous closet filled with clothes and their massive collection of antiquities and oddities, they’re just your average run of the mill family with a few (very successful) family businesses under their belt.
the first one is a antiques business. it’s no secret that rich people love owning one of a kind things, and it just so happens that through a family connection, hongjoong is able to get his hands on a lot of them. ancient treasures from athens and rome, stunning jewellery from historic kind and queens, even a few weapons that were used in famous wars and executions; hongjoong sells them all. of course, seonghwa and his dove get first pick. anything that either of you want is yours, no matter how much profit he’s sure it would bring at auction.
the second business is one of seonghwa’s own creation. the growing and selling of rare species of plant. he loves roses, first and foremost; they remind him of you, so delicate and sweet smelling. in fact, over recent months he’s found himself wanting to grow and sell more and more pink variants, as a pose to the red and black he usually goes for. he’s even bred a new variant which he so fondly named ‘lamb’. he doesn’t sell those ones though, choosing instead to decorate the house with the pastel flowers. they don’t quite match the decor, but he finds they look quite beautiful.
the third and final business is a jewellery business. hongjoong designs them and seonghwa models them; they’re a match made in heaven. most pieces have ruby or jet inclusions, but their most recent creation was a silver choker with a pink sapphire flower encrusted in the front. it sits in a display case in their wardrobe, the pair having yet to put it up for sale. it just doesn’t look right with seonghwa modelling it; perhaps hongjoong would have to request your assistance instead.

Hazbinverse Salt: Stella
Okay I finally gathered my thoughts about why, as a swan aficionado, I dislike Stella's design so much. I'm also going to point out what I would change.
Too much going on while bland at the same time:
On first glance it looks good enough but the more I think abou the more I start to scream internally
So many feathers, face is cluttered, isn't very regal, even her arms (why not make the gloved full length?)
Dress is TERRIBAD
Honestly the design tries so hard it ends up boring
Except for feathers and color palette her design doesn't reflect her basis very well
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HER NECK IS TOO SHORT
Either make the dress solid with less feathers and keep the "hair"
Or you could keep the feather dress and make her hair shorter in length
Alternatively turn the hair into a bridal train to symbolize her purpose
Also if her (assumedly full-blood) brother is a peacock wouldn't it make more sense for her to be a peahen?
Eh I'd make her a mixed species; and also include peafowl feathers as part of the dress or an accessory
Long hair + big ass lashes + crown = cluttered face
Again I would shorten the hair length or style it differently
SHORTEN THOSE EYELASHES
Somebody pointed out that her lashes are so long they literally blend into to the background
Change the eyes back to pilot's blue to match Andre & pop out from all the pink&purple
Silhouette isn't very regal
For someone groomed to be royalty she doesn't look like it
HER NECK IS TOO SHORT WHERE'S THAT GRACEFUL S SHAPE SWANS ARE KNOWN FOR
Amp up the design to be Victorian/Edwardian inspired: that's when circuses really blew up in popularity; fits the circus theme of Hazbin
Some historical refs I found
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
See one of them even has feathers!
Instead of a gradient top make it a solid color and the top layer of skirt the same color; end with a gradient or keep it solid
Change the bottom layer to a lighter purple or pink
Lack of dark colors makes her evil less conspicuous
Probably stripes or a star pattern her name means star after all
Keep the short sleeves
The more evil Stella grows the darker her palette becomes; maybe more plums and maroons with hot pink
Cluttered Face AND hair = mess
See above
Again I'd keep the head hairless and change the eyes to short lashes and blue orbs
If Goetia shouldn't she have celestial motifs?
Have a star shaped crown or jewellery
Make her palette sunset themed
Since Stella means star have her wear solar themed clothing at times
at least SOME heat based power to contrast her brother's ice; since she is demonic royalty I guess she should have some magical power
Having a bit of power shows that she is more of a threat than given credit for; justifies why she's an equal match for Stolas
IT FITS HER PERSONALITY
Adds a sense of tragedy: her power never recognized for their potential due to outdated ideals of hell
Which in turn legitimizes Charlie's crusade; changing Hell for the better would prevent future situations like Stella
Tragically, Stella succumbs to her flaws instead of growing out of them; tragic, complex villain instead of a cartoon caricature for wittle ol' woobie owl to overcome
Aaaand that's about it. I might draw my dream look for Stella. I think as someone who's supposed to be a villain she should've had a way better design. The Pretty Pink Princess turns out to be a total witch. Cool concept, uncool execution.

were there any specific styles/cultures you took inspiration from when designing the telchin clothing styles?
Honestly the tricky answer is: a lot-
Initially, it was very much just like “okay does this shape and colour palette and design look cool? Sick” and just throwing thoughts at a wall.
When it came to defining those broader shapes/colours and adding things like specific cuts, details, patterns, etc, I sort of worked backwards to grab inspirations.
Ulysses initial/main outfit is honestly quite Medieval, European (but notably Norse/Scandinavian in its cut/style), albeit with a ridiculously plunging neckline for some reason lol-
(it was even a bit early on that every time one of the cast drew Ulysses, we’d make his neckline just a little bit sluttier)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HOWEVER the details on the collar and sleeves are directly lifted from ancient Greco-Roman designs, specifically influenced by the “Greek Key” or “Greek Meander” pattern which can be seen in pottery, jewellery and architecture all over the ancient Mediterranean!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Specific to Ulysses, his clothing has currently reached a fairly fairytale-esque “fantasy” stage, drawing a lot of early Renaissance and pirate-style influences with his little poet-shirt and sash, since he’s been on the Overworld so much, and is slowly growing to become a part of that culture and world, and I really wanted to show that in his clothing changes.
Honestly, a lot of the broader telchin clothing when I have sketched it up is very Greco-Roman, at least in the way I tend to depict it (that is my field of expertise, given my degree haha) but there’s honestly a lot of broader Mediterranean ties in as well. The army and their armour is designed to be very Ancient Macedonian, and a lot of the more casual clothing skew very Ancient Egyptian.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Canonically the Telchin clothing style also definitely develops rapidly over the course of the war with the drowned, mostly for practicality sake more than fashion (loose flowing fabrics aren’t doing anyone much good escaping the undead), leading to an almost 1950s/60s American aesthetic? Of course still mingled with the Greco-Roman patterns. Especially in the way the scientists are presented in lore/my art, they always had a very retro-60’s almost sci-fi scientist aesthetic. If I was to give it a fancy/proper-sounding name I think “Wartime-Americana Retro-Classicism” would be more or less it, potentially lmao-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(You can even sort of see similar shapes and patterns in that first reference image to Ulysses eventual design!)
There was of course always a flair of Victorian-Mad-Scientist too, because I have a bit of a brand and I can’t help myself. And given the blurring of science, alchemy and magic in Fable I think it definitely fits.
It’s a shame Tumblr only lets me upload 10 images per post on mobile because I have A BUNCH of reference images for all of these stages of the Ulysses/broader telchin clothing design lol, but sadly I can’t include them here :(
But I hope this was somewhat useful/interesting!! I’ve had so much fun coming up with this kind of stuff over the course of Fable s3 for the telchin and I’m very grateful to Ocie and Metta for kind of just letting me go ham on a bunch of aspects like this lol-

Do you have pictures of the new restaged tour costumes yet? Do they still do the stripped down look?
According to MY gospel... the UK leg of the tour (2012-2013) was an absolute disgrace. The more I think about it, the more annoyed I am. I have never been more appalled by a professional POTO production. Luckilly the Maria Bjørnson estate put their foot down, so some of the costumes was amended. But the reinterpreted ballroom Masquerade and some undecorated costumes remained throughout. A special shout-out to the "flour girls" ballerina costumes in Il Muto, and the "Satyr" wearing half a Masquerade-Monkey-Girl costume...
Tumblr media
When the tour hit the US in 2013 (-2020) some of these costumes were kept, or new copies made, but they merged them with rather opulent, unaltered US costumes. So the total was stripped-down-meets-large-scale, which was a bit confusing. But in large an improvement from the UK. As an example the new Sylvan Glade costumes. It was not Maria Bjørnson's original design per se - but at least reflecting on her mint/floral scheme, with corseted bodices and bell shaped skirts.
Tumblr media
When the tour hit Australia in 2022-2023 a UK costume supervisor who knew Bjørnson's work well was hired to brush things up, and she made sure the original vision to some degree was restored. It meant the Phantom regained his fedora and traditional tailcoat PLUS a good mask, Christine's Star Princess costume had a hint of stars and moon, Carlotta's Managers dresses had trims and tassels, and her Masquerade costume had accessories and overall a coherent look, the Phantom's uniform Red Death was blinged up etc etc. In addition a lot of accessories - tiaras, jewellery, proper boots, whatnot - was added. It is the best the Restaged Tour has looked, costume wise.
Here they also restored the Sylvan Glade costumes to their original look, minus the flowers. Most or all US costumes seemed to be gone in Australia, probably due to ownership/budget. To add to the stock, the Aussie tour was supplemented with a lot of new/newer UK costumes, along with the old UK stock.
I won't say the Aussie production was perfect. For example, the ballroom vibe for Masquerade is still very much present, with generic black/white tailcoats for the men, and non-themed long dresses for the women. But at least the tailcoat clad men has been given a mask, and the women's costumes blinged or semi-themed up. The Victorian costumes were also boosted, or simply taken back to what Maria Bjørnson designed.
Am I exaggerating? I don't think so. Compare Angela M. Caesar's red Managers costume in the UK Tour compared to Giuseppina Grech's costume in Australia - for Angela's costume they removed all trims and decorations (as there were clear traces of previous decorations and seams in closeups), while Giuseppina's costume was fully decorated as per the design:
Tumblr media
This might seem like a minor issue. But layers on layers on layers was Bjørnson's thing, and if you remove a large part of this you have an unfinished costume, one that should not be on stage. I am glad the Aussie leg of the tour amended this.
I have only seen a handful of curtain call photos from Austria and their previews so far, but it looks to me like they continue in the vein of Australia, albeit with the presence of a handful of US costumes. And as I type this I remembered all the souvenirs in Vienna making fun of tourists mixing up Austria and Australia. Heh. If pulling up a photo of Katie Hall in her undecorated (and to be honest quite wrinkly!) wedding dress VS Lisanne Veeneman's Vienna wedding dress I can't see it as anyting than an improvement.
Tumblr media
That's the vibe from all rehearsal + curtain call photos I have seen so far. So yeah, Vienna appears to keep up the costume work from Australia, and I think that is a good thing. It means fully decorated costumes WITH accessories...
Tumblr media
a good Phantom mask...
Tumblr media
...and going back to original design as far as possible, including good wigwork etc. My major complaint will forever be Masquerade, but compared to how the Restaged Tour started in the UK in 2012 it is in a MUCH better place today. And I guess that is what we can ask for?

Historically ever after part 5
Darling Charming 2 New And Improved!
I wanted to do an updated version of this post because, it was really just my second attempt at doing something like this so it's not really the best and I've learned quite a bit more about 18th century fashion since then and I'm not really satisfied with that post anymore. Darling was the fist character that I decided to make these posts on because everybody kind of knows that her design was 18th century inspired. I think that it's just one of the recognisable historical styles .
Tumblr media
Starting with the dress, it has an open front showing another layer underneath like most styles of dresses from the Georgian period which usually had a petticoat underneath as well as a matching stomacher if one was worn. The robe robe a la francaise is, I think the most iconic for this look. The robe a la francaise also featured large box pleats at the back and were commonly worn over side hoops which gave the iconic wide hip look.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1 2
I think that darlings dress more closely resembles an English gown or robe a l’anglaise which is more fitted and less often worn with side hops therefore usually having a more round skirt shape.
Tumblr media
Either way it doesn't really matter as I doubt that the people designing these outfits really had this in mind. But I'll leave this article by the American Duchess which dose a good job explaining the different styles of 18th century gowns if you're interested.
We also have those lovely elbow length frilled sleeves which were common on fashionable gowns.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The print on her dress really resembles some of the floral patterns common during this period, such as these ones I found in the Met's online collections.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1 2 3
the underlayer's pattern is more subtle and and resembles these silk woven fabrics.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1 2
Tumblr media
Her hair is swept back and curled in a way that's meant to reference the large fancy hair styles iconic to the period, mostly around the mid 18th century. Feathers, ribbons and jewellery were all pretty common hair pieces.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her hair is also verry light which is again a reference to white powdered hair.
Tumblr media
While were talking about hair I'd also like to mention that we plenty of primary sources indicating the use of blue and pink hair powder during this time. I don't know a lot about that (or just historical hair in general I'm trying my best), but Abbey Cox did a great video the history of coloured hair, and after watching that I was able to find portraits showing it. It's such a niche fun fact that I don't think that it was intentional and they probably just chose blue to go with the colour scheme they already had but it's still cool.
Tumblr media
Her jewellery was interesting to look into, full disclosure I don't know much about jewellery outside of the Victorian era and even then my knowledge is pretty limited so I was mainly digging through the V&A archives and comparing them.
Her necklaces are I think the most similar. You got the jewels arranged in a circle around another jewel and the elaborate patterns.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
1 2
I think her bracelet is more armour inspired I'm not really able to get a good enough look at it to notice much detail.
dangly earrings sort of like hers I've seen a lot of but rather different.
Tumblr media
With her flower shaped ring I was either expecting to either find nothing or something similar but smaller which they made more bulky for doll production. I didn't find a similar ring, most were verry simple in shape, but I did find this broch and gasped verry loudly when I did because it was so similar.
Tumblr media
I might do another one on her dragon games outfit, but I don't really think there's anything there, and this post is getting long, nothing compared with what I have in the works for Lizzie but... I have homework to do and this has already taken up enough of my time.
As always, feel free to add on or correct me.

William Solaire HEADCANONS (very random)
(I will probably post a part II with more romantic/spicy headcanons but for now there you go)
-Huge dirty dancing fan, knows all the song and probably the whole movie by heart. Alexis showed him once and now they watch it every year at the clan (yes they have movie nights)
-He used to keep track of fashion trends and dressed appropriately but ended up sticking with a Victorian style and only dressing up according to the trends if required
-He always loved sketching and designing objects/jewellery and he still does it to this day (all in traditional with parchment paper and charcoal pens) he often finds local artists and commissions them to make his designs as gifts for the clan
-Very confused by technology and only knows the bare minimum, he would like to learn more but he genuinely struggles so he mostly asks Sam and Lovely
-He bonds a lot with Lovely, they have a book club together (Angel, Cam and some clan members are appart of it), Lovely explains gen Z stuff and William tells them stories
-William is a big tea enjoyer and keeps everyone’s favorite tea or coffee beans (also knows how to make homemade coffee) in his office when they come by to talk
-He drew portraits of every meaningful person he met and does more rendered ones (sometimes paintings) of everyone in the clan, he does little sessions where he invites them over to his residence one afternoon to pose however they want to
-On that note, when it comes to Quinn’s or Adam’s portraits he asked Darlin and Lovely what they wanted to do with them and they ended up burning them as a way to heal (he proposed that idea and picked a very nice location where they ate s’mores afterwards)
-He is from a seaside city in the south of France called Collioure, this city is known for its artists and was actually the place where the fauvism movement (an art movement) was born which is one of his favourite art movements with realism (him being from there also means that he has a southern accent, a french one but still a southern accent)
-He doesn’t eat much human food but likes to bake french treats like Bottreaux which is a simple diamond shaped fritter toper with sugar (also known as the fritter from princess and the frog) its very easy to make so he makes a bunch for the clan and often goes to New Orléans to eat them, he also has a cutesy « kiss the cook » apron that Vincent bought him to mock him years ago (he loved it and thought it was a progression in their relationship)
-Let’s be real, this man doesn’t care for pronouns. I think he identifies as a man but genuinely do not care how people refer to him, ESPECIALLY since he knows that using multiple pronouns help queer clan members feel more comfortable with their own identity
-This man is also probably pan or bi (i do think he might have a slight preference for men), and although he had PLENTY OF TIME to do so I don’t think he hooked up with a lot of people, only when he was curious about something (im not saying this man never got intimidate with anyone im saying that he wouldn’t ask for it and probably tested stuff because he wanted to)
-Demi sexual king that is also a strong believer in soulmates, reason why I think he never was in a relationship, he waited for his soulmate (scenario where he believes in romantic soulmates)
-Actually loves the sun especially the clear blue sky of southern france, he misses it a lot and paints a lot of sky because of it when he feels sad
-Contrary to Sam he actually prefers to eat from people, because he sees it as an interaction with someone rather than just a meal or an energy boost. So he has a bunch of different people (all consensual ofc) he regularly feeds on.
-Can handle social situations just fine, he is very charismatic and well spoken BUT it does tires him a lot (as to why Vincent handles most of it) so sometimes when he comes home from a very social day /week he doesn’t control his abilities as well and has broken door handles, curtains, sinks ect…

So Dream sees poor wretched 1689 Hob and decides "I need to make this man mine" and spends the next 100 years on and off designing a collar for him. But it importantly can't look like a collar, because he doesn't want Hob to know that's what it is, but that's absolutely what it is.
1789...happens, and everything goes wrong, and gifting it doesn't happen.
1889, Dream is quite impatient by this point and gives it to him right away at the start of the night. This extremely elaborate necklace is perhaps a tad feminine and very tight, but it's beautiful and a gift from his dear benefactor so of course Hob accepts. And custom-made jewelry is not typically something you give a stranger, so he feels confident in suggesting they are perhaps more than strangers to each other?
Dream, a hypocrite of the highest order and black belt in self delusion, is of course immensely offender (read: terrified - does he know???) of this assessment and storms out.
And then doesn't show up in 1989.
And the necklace does not come off. There is absolutely no way to take it off. And Hob is stuck with the beautiful hand-crafted reminder of his stranger around his neck that is damn near impossible to hide.
This is a work of genius omg??? Like,,, Dream working for literally 100 to make this necklace/collar, and then he doesn't get to give it to Hob - he has never been so frustrated in his life omg. So there's another 100 years of fiddling to make this thing just right and he finally gets it around Hob’s neck! Hooray! And Hob is very receptive to Dream’s... gift? Actually he's too receptive, and Dream freaks to fuck out about it.
Leaving Hob with the fanciest piece of jewellery he's ever owned, which is definitely not suitable for his middle class Victorian existence. But the damned thing is stuck on. He spends the next 100 years trying to hide it, or giving up entirely and allowing people to relentlessly tease him about his pretty necklace. At least in 1989, he'll be able to ask Dream about it! Right? Right...? Nope. At least men's jewellery is fashionable now. He does look pretty all dolled up in gold and pearls.
Hob learns to love his necklace, and when Dream offers to take it off for him in 2022 he refuses, point-blank. No way. Dream claimed him, and nows he's gonna have to deal with the consequences 😙

Rosado
Rosado is the Spanish word for pink. The word comes from the Latin ‘rosatus' a derivative of ‘rosa'.. When someone is referred to as ‘rosado’ it means that their complexion is pink and white. I imagine his name links him to the ethereal nature of the fair folk. In Victorian England, a pink and white complexion was desirable. In Japan the colour pink is associated with youth, life, happiness and new beginnings.
He has armour including: spaulders to protect his shoulders, rerebraces to protect the upper arm, vambraces to protect the lower arm, courses to protect the elbow, minimal greaves to protect the shin and calf and a codpiece to protect the crotch. Another practical and protective item are his boots to protect his legs from chaffing against wyvern scales. The dress and stockings he wears are designed to embellish his idea of cute.
Bows are an important element of Rosado's design. Traditionally bows were an expression of emotion, worn near the throat they are a sign of being in love and adorned elsewhere they were a symbol of playfulness and femininity.
The light pink and blue hair and the opalescent colour of his eyes are a unique colour due to him being from the Fair Folk. They are mystical beings who can eat and stay up all night without being affected. The two colours also represent boys (blue) and girls (pink) in the transgender flag.
In the Middle Ages thigh and knee high socks were worn by the nobility.
The purple of his outfit could symbolise nobility or royalty. In the Bible and Japanese culture purple was often used to represent these classes.
Rosado's Somniel outfit is a playful outfit with accents of bow's and ribbons. The concept of items associated with specific genders does not exist in Rosado's culture, the fair folk just wear what they like without attaching labels. He represents the otokonoko (male daughter) archtype. He wears court shoes, skirts and jewellery because that is what he likes. The black of his outfit could symbolise asexuality. Shino priests also wear black capes to symbolise enlightenment. Black was also a difficult dye to create so was often associated with wealth.

Brighter Days
... a glimpse into the future with a little spin-off as someone wished for last night ❤️
I hope you'll like this piece and it doesn't spoil too much - don't worry, the main story will soon continue as well!
6th May 2023, morning
Buckingham Palace
"Wonderful, Mummy, you look absolutely beautiful!", 35-year-old Theodora sighed and wiped a few tears away as she stood in front of her mother - the Queen of the United Kingdom, who was going to be crowned, alongside her father, King Charles III, at Westminster Abbey in less than 3 hours. Although they'd had about 8 months to prepare themselves, sometimes it still felt surreal to her, not to speak of her poor mother who'd been nothing but a nerve-wreck for at least 72 hours. And now she stood there, dressed in the most beautiful, cream white gown with all of it's amazing, personal, little details, the stunning golden embroidery, for jewellery only wearing a delicate little golden cross bracelet and fine golden earrings and, most impressively, Queen Victoria's coronation necklace, which simply looked exquisite on her. She really looked like an angel, so elegant and graceful and pure…
"Thea is right, Mummy, you look marvellous and everything's going to be fine!", Laura agreed and also wiped a few tears away. Camilla turned around and looked at them all full of gratitude, love and uncertainty. They had all lined up in front of her, almost like military regiment: Annabel and Fiona, (who'd be her most senior Mistresses of the robes during the ceremony, followed by Princess Charlotte and her own little, six-year-old daughter Isabella, followed by Lola and Eliza, Camilla's two older granddaughters who had both turned 15 last October and January respectively), Laura, Lola and Eliza, and herself, who had all been with her all morning, helped her get dressed and at least tried to help her relax. "Milla, we're all so very proud of you!", Annabel declared solemnly and with a tearful voice, emotionally looking at her sister, full of love and admiration, quietly adding: "If only Mum and Dad could see you like this..." "Yes, if only…", Camilla said, but thankfully, before the two of them could have got any more melancholic, the door was opened and the other ladies came in: Catherine with Charlotte and Isabella, all three of them looking stunning, Catherine regally dressed in the same robe of the Royal Victorian Order as Theodora, and the girls twinning in the cutest little white cape dress ever, looking so happy and so proud to be part of all of this, it was just heartwarming. Camilla's face lit up the moment she had seen her youngest granddaughters and both Isabella and Charlotte rushed over to her to give her a hug, but Annabel and Fiona were rather concerned about the dress, consciously preventing them from being too wild - not only the girls but also an overjoyed grandmother. "These two here…", Catherine said, smilingly pointing at the girls. "Wanted to give you a little something." "Oh?", Camilla asked, looking at them in excitement, and Charlotte sweetly helped Isabella pull out the little box which they had jointly designed and painted in Camilla’s favourite colour, duck egg blue. Isabella shyly handed it over to her grandmother, who looked at it very interested and admiringly. "Such a pretty little box, look at the beautiful paintings!", she gushed, carefully drawing over the delicately painted flowers and hearts with her finger. "Have you two made it?", she asked and Charlotte and Isabella nodded. "You're so talented, it's absolutely beautiful, thank you, my little darlings!", she said, visibly moved, and bent down to give them sort of a half-hug, much to Annabel and Fiona's concern but, thank goodness, nothing happened to the dress.
"Gaga, you have to open it…", Lola said, shaking her head and rolling her eyes in amusement. "Oh…", Camilla chuckled, facepalming herself, before finally opening the pretty little box. "Ohhh!", she exclaimed, as she discovered a beautiful, golden bracelet with eight heart-shaped, golden charms on it. Carefully, she placed it in her hand to have a closer look and realised that every charm featured one of her ladies' names, engraved in their own handwriting: Annabel, Laura, Theodora, Lola, Eliza, Catherine, Charlotte and Isabella. Camilla looked up at them and, once more, had to wipe a few tears away. "This is so very beautiful, I… I don't know what to say.", she stuttered, touched and overwhelmed. "We're happy you like it!", Eliza said, tenderly stroking her grandmother's arm. "I… I'm sorry I'm being so emotional today, it's just…" "... the nerves, we know, and understand that.", Catherine assured her with a comforting smile. "Are you going to wear it today?", Charlotte asked, expectantly looking at Camilla, who shook her head in disappointment. "I'm afraid not, sweetie. But I'll wear it for the concert tomorrow and probably never take it off again! It's so beautiful and I'll always have all of you with me, wherever I go. I shall treasure it forever.", she said solemnly, carefully putting the bracelet back into the box, placing it on the sideboard next to her other personal belongings which would be taken back to Clarence House by their staff once they'd have left for the service."Gaga, we have to take a selfie of all of us before we leave!", Lola suggested almost in panic, as if this was the most important part of the day - perhaps it was, at least to her. "Alright, alright, let's take a selfie.", Camilla laughed, motioning for the other ladies to gather together around her so that Lola, who stood in front of her, had them all on camera. "Cheese!", she said and everyone smiled their most beautiful smile - just in time, as one second later the doors swung open and the other non-royal family members came in to pick up Laura as she was not going to leave together with the others. She kissed Camilla goodbye, one last time "uncrowned", waved at the others and disappeared.
"I think we might go and search for husbands soon as well.", Catherine said and Theodora nodded. "Yes, we'd better." They'd be driven to the Abbey by car but would take part in the procession at the beginning of the service, so they'd all had to be absolutely on time. "Alright, Mummy… we take our leave as well.", she announced, taking both her mother's hands, looking at her full of love. "You will be amazing. I love you so much and I'm so proud of you. We all are.", she said, pressing Camilla’s hands tightly, affectionately kissing both her cheeks, before she bent down to her little daughter, pulling her into her arm. "And you, my little darling, will be amazing, too.", she told her. "You take care of Gaga and protect her, will you?", she asked with a twinkle in her eye, and Isabella nodded seriously. "I will, Mummy.", she promised. "And Lola and Eliza take care of you. You will listen and do what they say, won't you?" "Yes, Mummy." "Good girl!", Thea praised her and kissed her cheeks as well. It hadn't initially been planned for her and Charlotte to be involved in the ceremony the way they were now, it had just happened during the rehearsals, they had been obsessed with Camilla’s robes and desperately wanted to do what Annabel and Fiona were doing so at some point, they had given in and let them try and everyone's surprise, they had taken it all very seriously and done amazingly. Eventually, the girls had been asking and begging and crying so long that their parents and grandparents, especially Camilla, whose robes were concerned in the first place, had allowed them to do the job on the big day, with the one condition that the two older girls, Lola and Eliza, would be behind them and assist, should the need arise, and after a bit of loving persuasion, they, too, had agreed to do this for their grandmother and Camilla had been overjoyed.
Catherine and Theodora rushed down the grand staircase which, much to their amusement, was quite a noisy affair in the heavy robes. It was the first time for both of them to wear the full "regalia" of the Royal Victorian Order which they had both been bestowed with by Her late Majesty in 2017 and 2019 respectively, each of them wearing it with pride. Down in the Entrance Hall, their husbands were already waiting for them with their two little sons; William, looking all dashing in his Order of the Garter robes, with Louis and Thea's husband Alexander, dressed in an elegant Morning Suite, with their four-year-old son Albert. "You two look lovely!", William said charmingly to his wife and sister, greeting both of them with a kiss. "So do you!", Thea said, asking: "Have you been with dad? How is he doing?" "Um… alright.", William replied, but Louis revealed: "Grandpa is nervous!!!", which caused both little boys to chuckle. The four adult shared a smile as well, before each couple with their respective son, entered their car…
