★ I think Dazai would be confused on how to go about bonding with a child, because what do infants do? Sleep? Eat? So he takes every chance he gets to feed and rock the baby in his arms.

★ He plays peekaboo with the child, too. He also makes as much eye contact as possible because he read somewhere that it's a good way to communicate non verbally with a small baby.

★ When it reaches about 4 months old, as long as your child is laughing, that means he's doing something right. Until your child is bigger and is able to express their deeper emotions and feelings, he will settle for the amused squeals and laughs.

★ He also reads to the kid, turning the book around to show them them the pages while they sit in their tiny little baby swing. When he reads picture books, he goes all out, voice impressions and everything.

Scenario !! ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥

Dazai sat on the floor, staring at the newborn baby in her little swing. His legs were criss crossed as he observed her, watching every small movement she made in her little swaddle. He watches with adoration, still so amazed that he could create such a beautiful thing; such a miracle. He had never previously imagined himself having a family, especially not so soon, but he couldn't be more thankful now that he did.

He's torn from his thoughts when he hears the soft cries of his daughter, her face contorted from her recently peaceful one to one of sadness, and so did his. "Aw, what's wrong, honey?" He says, gently picking her up. He hushes her softly while rocking her back and forth in his arms, to no avail. Her cries become a little louder and he starts to internally panic a bit. "Hey, hey, you're alright, I promise!" He murmurs to her. "Are you hungry? Is that what it is?" He says, setting her back down in her baby swing for a moment and dashing off to the kitchen.

He makes her a bottle, shaking the formula and mixing it up while simultaneously speed walking back to his daughter. He sets down the bottle and scooches closer to her swing, taking her back into his arms and holding the bottle up to her mouth. She starts to suck on the top piece, slowly but surely draining the bottle. He smiles while watching her, removing the bottle from her mouth after a bit. He gently wipes her any excess formula from her mouth, giving her a bit of a break.

Dazai readjusts her posture in his arms, supporting her head as her small little eyes open and stare at him. He stares back, almost as if he were intimidated by the young baby. He felt silly about it, but at the same time he couldn't really help it. "Don't worry, I passed my good genes on to you." He says playfully to her. Her face makes a small grimaces again, and he knows it's probably because she wants the rest of her bottle, but he can't help but feel a little offended.

"Hey...you're not a very nice baby, are you? You probably got that from me, too." He murmurs, an eyebrow raised as he feeds her the bottle again. She seems content, which makes him smile. He feels her squirm a little bit and he quickly removes the bottle from her mouth, a bit of liquid remaining. He again wipes any remaining formula off her face before holding her to his chest. He sits down on the couch and carefully lays down, his head leaned against the armrest of the sofa.

He resumes his activity of just staring at her, so bewildered and actually astonished over what his life has come to. Positively, ofcourse. His fingers lightly caressed her head that was littered with teeny tiny baby hairs already. He can't keep himself from grinning, so proud of himself for not running away from a situation for once. Sure it has been difficult and he had his insecurities along the way, but he had a lovely partner to help him out of those holes he unintentionally mentally dug himself.

That support from you helped Dazai a great deal, as did holding his daughter for the first time. He actually cried when he did. He felt as though she was the most fragile thing in the entire world; a fragile thing that could be tainted solely by the blood on her fathers hands, the sins he has committed, yet every day she proves to be the most heaven-sent thing he has and ever will come across.

While he's sucked into his own thoughts, he can't help but smile subconsciously at the life has made for himself and refusing to let his past hold him back. He couldn't be happier, and he truly believed nothing would ever make him more ecstatic than his unforeseen family.

His ideal date is the two of you ordering room service while staying in a fancy hotel, cuddling I bc bed while watching TV and exchanging sweet kisses. He’s a busy bee so he can’t always take you out to a restaurant, room service does the job just fine !

He’s pretty clumsy with his emotions, too proud to admit his weakness at first and shutting you out when he’s upset instead of talking to you. The two of you work together and he slowly gets better at expressing emotions.

He knows he wants one but for now, he feels too young and too focused on his career to settle down completely, happy with only the two of you.

G = Gifts (how do they feel about gift giving? What are their habits when it comes to this?)

He loves to spoil you with gifts and makes it known, buying you jewelry and clothes so you can wear them out and he can softly brag about it. He also adores to brings you things from his travels, little souvenirs he carefully picks.

H = Holding Hands (when/how do they like to hold hands?)

He holds your hand when the two of you are out together, a protective action he naturally does when he sees the crowd waiting for the two of you. his hand stays in yours as you walk in the paddock, only letting it go as he signs fan’s papers and takes photos with them.

Will make a big deal out of it but will stop when he sees that it’s not helping the situation at all, seeking medical advice as soon as possible if it’s more serious than a bruise, nagging you about your clumsiness.

Ohhhh boy, he’s all about jokes and teasing. his mouth is loud and big, running all day and spewing sarcastic remarks when he can.

His kisses are desperate and needy, a little rough and clumsy but he pours all his adoration in them so that makes it up. he just has so much love for you and wants to show you how he feels.

Being hurt in race. obviously, it’s every drivers’s fear, but he’s completely scared of being hurt and having to see the worry take over your face, watching tears fill up your eyes and not being able to do anything to stop them.

He looks for you wherever he goes, even when he knows you’re not there. he’s so addicted to your presence that he seeks it all the time, casting glances towards the crowd in hope to spot you.

Maus ! it’s teasing but cute, comparing you to a squeaky little animal and laughing as he sees your offended face.

hello hello!! I'm doing pretty alright now, feeling a lot better than I was this past week :) and that's so sweet of you to say, it's so reassuring knowing I have so many of you guys willing to read my silly stories no matter which fandom they're about (or even if they're original)

and yes I do have some recs!

I made a post about two months ago now talking about books I'd read that I really enjoyed so there'll be some crossover here but also some new ones I've read since then

one of my new favorite novels is The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. it's a heavy fantasy story following 4 different intertwining POVs. the fantasy world itself is made up of several different countries all inspired by various real world cultures that's not just limited to western europe which is incredibly refreshing. the world itself is incredibly fleshed out and interesting, the characters are all very diverse and have so much depth, and there's also a very beautiful sapphic romance <3 I'm reading the prequel to priory right now and I'm also loving it so far

another book I really enjoyed is actually a duology—The Radiant Emperor series by Shelley Parker-Chan. the first book in the series is She Who Became the Sun which I really enjoyed, however the sequel book He Who Drowned the World is the one that absolutely blew me away. just letting you know in case you're not comfortable with it, both books contain sex and some graphic violence. the story is set in 14th century China when it was ruled by the Mongols, and it's an incredibly well done queer retelling/fictionalization of the rise of Zhu Yuanzhang, the Emperor who ushered in the Ming dynasty. the text engages with so many themes of the expectations of masculinity and femininity and how they restrict people, and really dives into gender expression and how it can be wielded in different ways. again the first one was really enjoyable, but the second one was on a whole other level and I'm still reeling over how good it was and how much it emotionally hurt me.

This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone - I know we all heard about this one thanks to the iconic bigolas dickolas wolfwood on twitter but also they were so right about this book. it's gorgeously written. the book itself is mostly written as letters exchanged between two women who are time traveling agents on opposing sides of a war for who controls the timelines. it's a beautiful love story, it's sci fi but with a heavy bend towards spec fic which I personally really like, the world concepts are incredibly fascinating, and it plays around with time travel in a very intriguing way. it's a very short book so it's an easy one to burn through. I checked this one out from my library but I'm highkey tempted to go to a bookstore and actually buy a physical copy for myself just because there were so many gorgeous lines I want to highlight

A strange book caught my eye as I meandered through the library. I grabbed at the reddish-orange cover, pulling it into my hands. I flip to the first page.

“Try as he might, the god cannot love the mortal in his entirety. He burns far too bright, too endlessly - and no mortal can withstand that intensity. So the god becomes so dreadfully alone - as there is no one who can return his love in the way he needs.”

I remembered then that I was meant to meet with Morpheus in Fiddler’s Green. He had asked me - quite formally, might I add - to meet him there so that we might talk, as friends do.

I won’t tell you how my heart leapt. I’m sure you already know it.

I rushed over quickly, hoping I wasn’t late. The grassy path led me to my favorite spot in all of the Dreaming - the pond.

Waterfalls cascaded down, splashing delightfully with the water below. Birds and butterflies and bees flew and fluttered, buzzed and sang.

It felt like home, almost.

And just the thought of this being home made my heart sing. Though, not as much as the prospect of him wanting to talk to me did.

But as I looked around, peering through the shades of green and brown, I saw no Morpheus.

Maybe I was early?

I’ve got all the time in the world. Might as well wait for him.

I sit down in shade, just watching the world go by. The grass below me was soft, tickling my legs not unlike how it would in the real world. A white tulip sprang up from the ground, alerting me that Fiddler’s Green himself as coming to me.

And there he was, walking from the woods. He dipped his head in greeting as he sat beside me.

“Hello, dreamer,” he said, tone like the gentle waterfall near us. “What brings you to my meadow today?”

“Hello Fiddler's Green,” I said, a small grin appearing on my lips. “It’s nice to see you. Dream asked me here today. You wouldn’t happen to know where he is, would you?”

His brow furrowed in concentration.

“No,” he said with an unsure tone. “No, he never mentioned anything like that today. Perhaps he forgot to tell me?”

It was an easy excuse. Both of us knew that Morpheus never forgot these sorts of things: he always remembered everything, as any Endless would. So it was rather strange to hear Fiddler's Green talk about him in such a manner. It was …strange.

“He has been rather busy recently,” said the man beside me. “Maybe it’s just the busyness of it all.” We simmer in silence for a moment before-

"No matter,” he says, cheering up. His demeanor instantly shifts. “We can have plenty of fun together - even without Dream.”

Despite his offer, I respectfully declined. I wanted to know what Morpheus was doing and why he stood me up. 

He nodded his agreement but warned me: "Be careful: My lord tends to get antagonistic when stressed."

I said my goodbyes to him and walked back the way I came.  The view was just as beautiful, just as sublime. It felt like home in a sense.

And as I walked my way back to the castle, I pondered my relation to the Dreaming and all who inhabit it. I adored Lucienne and Fiddler's Green and Mervyn and especially Matthew. I especially liked his little quips.

Before I knew it I was already inside, right in front of the throne. He flipped through pages of a book, before sighing and setting it aside. There were books and pages and articles everywhere. Perhaps he was looking for something?

"The loneliness has birthed violence in his heart. It has made him cold, colder than the loneliness he knows now as a friend. It is the curse of becoming a god."

"Why do you seek to interrupt my work?" His voice seemed to echo and bounce off the walls of the castle.

Stars seemed to reflect from his eyes, and he was beautiful. I almost didn't hear his question.

"Oh! Um, you said that you'd go with me to Fiddler's Green today, and I was wondering...if you'd like to go now?" My voice betrayed my anxiety asking him that question. Suddenly he seemed so intimidating, so terrifying.

It was easy to see why he was King of Nightmares, too.

He leveled me with a flat stare. His face pinched, curling into a snarl. "Why would I make an effort for you?"

The words sent me reeling.

I took an unsteady step back unconsciously, swallowing hard.

"Oh...Oh. Ok, I'll go!" I squeak, turning around, shakingly making my way out of the room.

"You better." He muttered, turning back to his work.

He never heard my teardrops hit the floor.

"Love is something premeditated. It is something beautiful and something horrific. Love is a home.

The god does not know what home feels like. Now, perhaps he never will."

Matthew caws, and makes his landing right before the Endless.

"Hey, boss! Aren't you supposed to be with the dreamer?"

A simple question, but one that makes the King of Dreams pause.

"...What are you referring to?"

The raven caws again, shifting from foot to foot. "Yeah, they came in the other night practically glowing. Said you'd invited them to Fiddler's Green. Almost looked like love, if you ask me."

Matthew looks up, noticing how his lord has gone deathly still.

"...love?" Morpheus looks lost in thought, which is not a sight Matthew is used to.

"Yeah, but they were running out of here crying 'fore waking up. Couldn't you have let 'em down easy?"

Dream of the Endless stands up abruptly, towering over his raven. He strides towards the door, ignoring Matthew's caws to stop.

Could someone as perfect as you really love him? Did he ruin it all? He stops, peering around. The palace is silent - per Morpheus's request.

And his dreamer is nowhere in the Dreaming.

I’m late to the party, but HAPPY FANFIC WRITER APPRECIATION DAY, BBS.

I’ve been running around town all day helping my sister get prepped for marching band season and I’m pooped and have tried writing something that wasn’t like major sappy but also not generic while in the car but idk. I didn’t like it, but this is an important day and y’all deserve to be acknowledged so let’s go. Also sorry for the obscene amount of “y’all”s. It’s what I do. 

I feel like I’ve talked about it enough, but I was on here from like 2009 - 2015 or 16? And a lot of drama happened and I stopped writing and reading altogether. The fucking difference between then and now in the writing community is night and day. Y’all are some of the most supportive people I’ve ever come in contact with and it fills me with so so so much joy to see how much everyone cares about one another and how you interact with your readers and you can see that connection is what makes you better writers. 

I started this blog with the full intention of lurking and just reblogging fics to be able to find them again later and no interactions. But somewhere along the way, I made friends with some of y’all? And some of you actually not only inspired but actually encouraged me to get back into writing?? And then continued to support the writing I did after? And I’m so fucking thankful for it? Like what? Back then, you’d be judged so fucking harshly for shit like that. It’s mind-boggling. 

I just wanted to say how much I love all of you. Whether we actively talk, are moots, friends, or even if I’m just a little reader/another number to you. Okay okay the ratchet first fp au was equally heartrending but also perfect and thank you so much for going into so much detail to expound on my silly little fantasy, I love it! But if you don’t mind, I’m gonna poke you with one more question that’s bugged me ever since MC woke up and ratch op and bee had to catch her up on the last 30 years: they mentioned unicron and Optimus’ amnesia (which is another au you’re portraying marvelously well btw! I love shiny and new to pieces!), as well as a couple of the other tfp eps, but I don’t recall them mentioning synth-en? Like, at all? (Unless I totally missed it?) Between ratchet’s problems and op’s withdrawal, I figured that the tension between them like the scene where they fight and ratchet accuses op of being too soft to take out megatron and that’s why they lost cliff jumper, combined with MC’s unconsciousness, op’s guilt about it, and ratchet’s (partial?) blame for op putting her in that condition to start with and envy knowing he would’ve had more restraint and cared for her more in his mind (and them both missing her terribly and being lost without her), would kind of cause a boiling point between them? (Fun fact if you didn’t know it but the tfp writers had tossed around the idea of ratchet blaming op for elita one’s death instead of cliffjumper, but they had the Orion pax arc coming up and they didn’t want to add anymore characters or smth so they nixed it) So if ratchet spews about mc (and elita??) to op, does op snap too in this case? Do they actually come to blows? Does op even get mad and rise to the bait or does it just break his heart bc now ratchet is turning on him too and pointing out every mistake he’s made and ratchets never been that mean to him before and wouldn’t dream of saying any of it under normal circumstances but is so hyped up he no longer has a filter? I am reeling here at the possibilities! I am so fricken curious bc your unique individual characterizations of them as well as their mutual adoration for mc would give so many delicious untapped layers to that episode - and again you don’t have to answer this at all but I would love to hear your thoughts! :) thank you so much for your time!

I think they would have started fighting. As in, Ratchet, with 0 filter, would start laying it out how mad he is about what happened to you. He would blame it on Optimus, and at the time, he would feel totally justified in saying it.

-Optimus would be barely able to hold back his rage, but manages to restrain himself. Tells Ratchet he needs to go home, let that crap work through his system, and recharge before talking to him again.

-Ratchet would then suggest Optimus frag him because that tends to knock people unconscious for indefinite periods of time.

-Optimus looses it. Lunges for him, grabs him and fucking throttles him.

-And the second his servos wrap around his throat, freezes. Because he touched someone. He touched someone he cared about, and he did it with the intent to hurt them.

-He goes catatonic.

-Ratchet, slightly sobered, has to pry his servos off of him, digit by digit.

-Once he does, he leaves in a huff, runs off to punch Megatron in the face like he originally intended.

-But not before ducking out of sight and having the quickest, filthiest guilty-wank of his life. Doesn’t matter how mad you are. Angrier-than-god-Optimus touching you will make you cream your jeans, and marching through deception territory with a spontaneous overload looming on the horizon probably isn’t a great strategy.

-Once he gets the shit kicked out of him and finally sobers up, and realizes that entire exchange not only happened, but happened in front of Bumblebee, he decides this was, in fact, the second worst thing he’s ever fucking done. He calculates the damage done to his filters, finds that the synth-en was mostly processed by other organs, chugs the rough hi-grade equivalent of 2 handles of bourbon, and blacks out for 72 hours straight.

-Neither of them ever speak about it again.

-To each other.

-They both tell you at different times after you’ve woken up

Their age difference is about a year and 4 months. They first meet when Clarke's 15 almost getting ready to turn 16, and Lexa is freshly 17.

Yeah Clarke always had a crush on Lexa. I mean, she fucking hated her, but she also always found her insanely attractive. Actually really liking her like as a person, that developed over time. Not that she would've ever admit it. But seeing how evil she was at her core? How nasty and biting and underhanded she was? It was thrilling seeing someone who was somehow better at being a fucking bitch than she was. So manipulative and downright cruel, but in way that she'd still be smiling in your face. It was obnoxious and annoying how Lexa was so goddamn devious and yet still kept people eating out of the palm of her hand. Like I said, she'd never admit it at the time, but yes every new thing she learned about Lexa and the woman she was behind the mask of high society politeness made her more and more attractive to Clarke.

And for Lexa it wasn't entirely different, but Clarke was (is, still very much is) an infuriating person to love. Initially Lexa's snooty ass wouldn't have deigned to ever admit or entertain actually being attracted to Clarke because she was just a childish delinquent. A baby of 15, as opposed to her very adult self at 17. She could never😤. Fine, Clarke was aesthetically pleasing from their first meeting, but that wasn't — that's not—It just wasn't the same thing 😤. But then, as Clarke has a way of doing, she got under Lexa skin. And stayed there. Lexa saw a kindred spirit in Clarke. Yes Clarke was a spoiled brat and yes she deserved every nasty word spoken behind her back. But... she was also someone who saw through the bullshit of their lives and their social circles. She didn't play by the rules the way Lexa did and still managed to be a queen bee, still managed to control everyone around her through a fear laced kind of adoration and desperation for her acceptance and approval. -Being so young and traumatized, Virgil and Riza took Ryder in and love him as their own kid.

- Ryder absolutely admires Virgil and is forever grateful for his kindness for saving him.

- Virgil gifted Ryder a star necklace on his birthday(the day that he was taken in by Virgil, he does have no recollection of his birth). He noticed that Ryder tends to play with Virgil’s necklace. It brought back bittersweet memories of his dad and himself when he was young. So just like what Virgil’s father did, Virgil gives Ryder a necklace.

-Ryder adore the necklace Virgil gives him, it made him happy and would often refuse to take it off. He swore to his parents that he will cherish this necklace.

- Ryder is absolutely a momma’s boy. At first when Virgil took him in, he is on high alert and on guard whenever he sees Riza, due to his experience with his mother, he is being extra cautious around her. But due to her kindness and patience, he began to lower his guard down. With her, he feels safe, loved.

- He loves teasing his little sisters, especially his youngest sister,Clementine, he finds her angry hissing and screeching and thrashing her wings pretty entertaining. But he apologized whenever he teases too much!

-He absolutely love colors! Especially Edith’s paints! They’re just pretty to look at! He tend to mess around with Edith’s paints (which sometimes accidentally spill or drop them) and face with a very angry Edith. So he bought her replacements with his allowance as an apology (he still messes with her paints but is now careful)

-He is the first child Virgil and Riza adopted!

Now to the eldest daughter, Edith Evans!

- Edith is a half orc!

-She was adopted by Virgil and Riza at an orphanage (literally the only kid they adopted properly lmao)

-She is a very polite girl, which made her look up to Riza and her grandma Erin (Virgil’s mom) she is inspire to be lady like just like them!

-Despite her orc strength, she is very careful about it! She never wanted to hurt anyone! Unless if you’re Ryder that mess with her paints- which she grabbed a tree and was about to smack him like it’s baseball— which they both got a scolding from their mom

- Edith absolutely love to paint! She gets giddy whenever Virgil bought her art materials (don’t worry it’s not the typical art kit 💀)

-She is very protective of her material *looks at Ryder* so she usually hids them somewhere in her room

-She absolutely gets along well with her Uncle Irvin, they both share their love for bees and gardening! Irvin lends her flowers that he grew for her artworks! Or even use them as references!

-Speaking of painting, she absolutely enjoys listening to her dad’s astronomy rambles. There are times when she paint stars for Virgil (he has them in his office walls, he’s just so happy whenever he takes breaks and looks at them!)

-She enjoys her time with her family with English afternoon teas parties in their garden! She absolutely enjoy the sandwiches and pastries her dad make!

-She loves playing at the garden with her siblings! She also happily read Clementine, stories when they’re under their favorite tree!

-Edith is the second child they adopted

And finally to the youngest daughter, Clementine Evans!

- Clementine is an owl harpy!

- Virgil found her as an abandoned egg when he went out for a stroll. Just like with Ryder, he took her home and takes care of the egg (he has done so much research of how to take care of an egg 💀)

- Virgil instantly pulled out a camera to record her when she began to hatch!

- Virgil is the one that named her Clementine!

- Clementine is the most energetic out of the three!

- She absolutely took much interest in games! She always watches Virgil plays video games (and be his little cheerleader!)

-She absolutely enjoys spending time with Riza and help her with cooking! Although she struggles due to her wings but she found ways to help!

- She absolutely loves reading time with her big sister Edith!

-As much she doesn’t like Ryder mess with her, she enjoys spending time with him! They tend to get competitive when it comes to play games but they just had fun!

- She tends to sleep in her parents bed, it just helps her feel safe and happy! Just being in the middle!

-She wanted to be a teacher just like her mom!

-She gets along with her Aunt Sarah (Virgil’s sister) and loves listening to musicals that her aunt plays!

-Also the three love to play with Scott! (Virgil’s doberman!) they’re practically inseparable with Scott!

I know I don’t really interact a whole lot, mostly due to nerves, but I want to join in with everyone else in support of you and your amazing writing.

That anon is nothing but a coward and a dick; I’ll bet good money they’re either trying to combat their own insecurities, or their only form of emotional fulfillment is putting others down. Or both. It’s fucking sad. They also don’t seem to know that talent and skill are different things. They overlap, yeah, but talent is latent while skill is developed. Writers never stop honing their skill, turning any natural talent they may have into a fine edge through practice.

Which is exactly what you do whenever you write.

Anon wants to make implications about how talented they are? Anyone that brags like that usually has a dull-edged “skill,” with no ability to learn or grow or accept feedback. The very fact that you continually engage with your readers and talk about and encourage expansion on your ideas just proves my point.

You’re growing your skill by constantly working at it. All writers are forever a work in progress, that’s just the nature of art. And there’s never, ever anything shameful about it.

You’re ridiculously creative, and the fact that you come up with so many amazing aus - that everyone absolutely adores - is a testament to that. (Gonna use myself as an example, but I lost my mind when you first started following me. Like, the r0 was following me. One of the heaviest hitters in the fandom circle. And then you sent in the request for the drabble with Cole and??? I was being trusted with your oc???? And now bee!mas?! You have no idea how honored I am about both of those- still!)

So yeah. Sorry that… got so rambly. You’re great. Your writing is great, your ideas are great, and we all love talking to you and seeing everything you see fit to share with us. I hope your day gets better from here. 💕
