My totally serious guide to solving quadratic equations ✨
Sorry not sorry
I don't feel like writing rn, I feel like doing math🥰 so come
(Note = I used to take IGCSE Additional math and ext math soooo i hope this hepls if ur taking the same thing LOL)
(also pls don't unfollow i promise i wont be a full math blog 😔)
EXAMPLE =
x² + 4x + 4 = 0
ax² + bx + c
So as you can see there is a secret, hidden 1 in front of the x² so that will be our a value. For the b value you can get it in front of the x which is 4 and lastly the c is the number at the end with no variable so its 4.
TLDR; a = 1, b = 4, c = 4
Tumblr media
So I usually make a big X thing and i put the product of a and c at the top and put the b value at the bottom. Like the pic above ig
So the product of a and c is 4 x 1 so it's 4 and then the b is just 4 so its 4.
THEN we gotta find 2 numbers that can be added to become 4 and mutliplied to become 4
SO it has to be like this (pretend the numbers are m and n)
m + n = 4
m × n = 4
So now we gotta do guess and check, I usually try to find the factors of the product, the one we have rn is 4 so
Factors of 4 are 1, 2 and 4
So let's try to find it! Let's try to check if 4 and 1 can.
1 + 4 = 5 ❌ <- doesn't add up to 4
2 + 2 = 4 ✅ <- adds up to 4
So now we just put it into the factors thing, Your answer should be (x+2)(x+2) or (x+2)²
BUT WAIT We're not done yet!
We gotta find x
So since it's (x+2) multiplied by (x+2) that means x + 2 = 0
and we just solve algebraically
x + 2 = 0
x = -2
So there's your answer
OR You could always use the

And of course we know that Descartes liked math too. Like he said, "cogito ergo sum". Which as we all know is Latin for "I think, therefore I add numbers together". And with this statement he really added to the field, one may perchance dare to say

it seems the general consensus is that no one will hunt me for sport if i use what's currently in my accounts to get the car repair out of the way (and hopefully pay down the last bit of that that'll have to go on my credit card) before i am even able to schedule the surgery
and then just put the surgery on the credit card after and hope for the best

Hamiltonian mechanics is the feminine side of classical physics. Its masculine side is Lagrangian mechanics, formulated in terms of velocities (tangent vectors) rather than momenta (cotangent vectors). Lagrangian mechanics focusses on the difference of kinetic – potential energies; Hamiltonian mechanics focusses on their sum.

happy holiday break, let’s talk class schedules
Tumblr media
According to the Secrets of Auradon Prep tie-in book, AP runs on a rotating block schedule. Six periods per day, plus lunch. Pretty reasonable for a high school class schedule.
Homeroom once a week feels a little weird to me, but after an unofficial poll of some friends, it’s apparently not too uncommon for American high schools to only have it at the start of the week.
It’s sort of nice that the students get a study period every day, instead of having their free block/study block worked into the rotation with the rest of their classes.
In Mal’s Diary, we get another look at her schedule.
Tumblr media
She’s in most of the same classes as the sample from before, but no chemistry class. Is Mal not interested in chemistry, or did Fairy Godmother decide it was more important for her to learn about evil fairies instead? Are there other “cultural history” type classes for other students, or did Fairy Godmother and whoever planned the class schedules for the other VKs just decide to pile on allll of the history/social studies classes for the VK to educate them in the ways of Auradon?
I think it’s funnier for me personally if Fairy Godmother received transcripts from Dragon Hall, looked at the VKs’ classes so far, and decided to say ‘fuck it’ on math and science classes, what these kids need is Auradon cultural education. Woodsmen, Fairies, Auradon History, and straight-up Goodness 101. One singular math class will take care of the rest, they’ll be fine.

I love telling people my alarm requires me to do math to turn it off. It's funny when they see my alarm and realize 'oh shit they really do do math problems first thing in the morning to turn off their alarm.'
It's even funnier when I think about how I can turn off my first alarm and immediately go back to sleep.

Genuinely dont know if its because im neurodivergent or just EXTREAMLY sensitive to conflict but I just feel like when I say the wrong thing (accidentally) and people get mad. I would think and sob about it all day 24/7. I cant get it out of my head and it causes me extreme anxiety. Genuinely cant even function and thinking abt it constantly. Im unaware of what I did and I will apologize if what I did was wrong. But I guess the hard thing is that I dont recognize tone and an the secret "implication" of my words that other people derive. In reality, I don't mean anything by them, take my words of tease with a grain of salt. No bad intentions no pettiness I just tend to blurt out stuff.
And what I hate the most is that the course of action people take when they're mad at me is they give me silent treatment. I NEED clear indications and instructions when conflict arises. I mean I NEED THEM. Please do not expect me to understand you, I will fail. It feels like I wasnt given any memo , I dont even get to have an equal understanding to why a conflict happens to me. I just get stranded with unclear guilt.

Polyhedron of the Day #1: Octahedron
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The octahedron is a convex regular polyhedron, part of the five Platonic solids. It has eight triangular faces, 12 edges, and six vertices. Its vertex figure is a square and has a Schläfli symbol of {3,4}. Its dual is the cube. It can also be seen as a rectified tetrahedron or a uniform triangular antiprism! The central intersection of two tetrahedra is the octahedron. Several natural crystals have octahedral forms, including diamond, alum, or fluorite.
