i wonder where the idea of chilchuck being a deadbeat came from when theres like. no textual evidence for it ?

he knows what all of them are up to; he still writes to flertom and she sent him his neckwarmer, so that to me implies that they at least have a somewhat positive relationship?

its more ambiguous with meijack and puckpatti, but since meijack is also a picklock, i wouldn't be surprised if he taught her himself, considering how trades are often passed down through families, and because he talks about sending people to her if he dies.

also the way he talks about puckpatti is very like... it's obvious he wants her to take things more seriously, but he's accepting, and his tone here reads more fond to me than anything else.

like, he keeps his daughters' old toys under his desk? that doesn't scream 'deadbeat' at all, it screams 'empty nester' who doesn't know how to reach out or is scared to do so

EDIT: i know a lot of the 'deadbeat dad' stuff is jokes, but some people are Not joking and genuinely think chilchuck is a bad dad. this post is not saying that you cant joke about it; it is just outlining what canon shows regarding his (clearly positive) relationship with his kids.

He immediately turns around and stops in front of you, raising a brow, flashing that smirk he always does before crossing his arms. “Wearing a new scent? I haven’t picked up these particular notes on you before. Mind if I try to guess them?” You agree to his little game.

Maybe you knew better, maybe you didn’t, but letting him play this game of his inevitably gets you trapped on his lap. Holding you in his arms for god knows how long, purposefully making wrong guesses. He doesn’t even try to hide the fact that his obliviousness is an act. “Mmm.. You sure it isn’t amber musk?” His tone dripping with sarcasm as he brushes his nose against your pulse point, inhaling the scent rubbed into it before planting a soft, lingering kiss against your skin. A teasing gesture that makes you huff. “No dried roses? Not even jasmine? I think you’re lying, sweetie..” You really aren’t, he won’t even let you give him hints or answers. “It’s no fun if you tell me, I’ll get it right eventually. Have you no faith in me, kitten? Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to surprise you.” He wastes time with his faux guesses, trying to get your scent to rub off on him as much as possible. Rubbing his thumbs against your wrists in soothing circles, nuzzling his face against your throat. He only guesses them ALL right when he’s willing to let you go, perfectly listing them off one by one. You don’t even have to confirm that he’s right, he knows he is. “Want a custom made perfume/cologne with these notes? I’ll be sure to buy you a few bottles of it … you think that’s overkill?” A giggle just as rich as he is escapes his lips. “Who said I’m not going to use it too?”

It was Indigenous People's Day so I made some intersex + Indigenous flags

Since I've been on a roll in making intersex flags. First: flags for the three major types of Indigenous groups whose lands were stolen to create the country I live in (Canada):

Left: intersex and First Nations (American Indian Movement) Middle: intersex and Inuit Right: intersex and Métis

Then I made some intersex flags for some specific First Nations whose cultures I have at least basic familiarity with: Left: Haida ©️........... Middle: Huu-ay-aht ©️....... Right: Musqueam ©️

Left: Blackfoot ........ Middle: Anishinaabe ©️ ... Right: Haudenosaunee

Note: The last three are confederacies of multiple nations. Order is based on geography, going west to east.

Personal Note: I am a settler and am not a member of any of these nations. I've moved many times in my life, and these nations are the rightful stewards of the lands that I personally feel I have the most connection to. 💜

Edit to note: at the time I made this post I was under the impression all of the First Nations flags above were public domain. I have since learnt that the license information of many of the original flags on Wikimedia Commons were incorrect.

The Haida, Huu-ay-aht, Musqueam, and Anishinaabe flags are all definitely copyrighted. You can still use and share the intersex versions, just don't go uploading them to Wikimedia Commons, or using the designs for commercial purposes (unless you get permission from the relevant First Nation!)

The AIM, Inuit, Métis, and Haudenosaunee flags are all public domain, and so my intersex versions are public domain too.

The copyright status of the Blackfoot flag I'm not certain about - I haven't been able to track down that information one way or the other.
