ST5 POTENTIAL SPOILERS!!!

ST5 Leaks/Fleaks

Gen Plot

Season picks up briefly where we left off in 1986 before jumping into either late 1987 or early 1988. The season is contained entirely in apocalyptic Hawkins. Things with the government are shaky. Owens doesn't appear in the beginning of the season and it's unclear if he's returning, but Ellen Stinson is the new Owens. Hawkins is like a combination of the UD and Kamchatka.

Labyrinths/Mazes being important to both the supernatural plot and the interpersonal relationships. They're inherently linked.

Two songs to be featured are 'Listen to Your Heart' and 'Alone,' both of which were apparently foreshadowed in a previous conversation between Hopper and Joyce, similar to how Hopper's "I'm the puppet, you're the master" to Joyce in S3 basically foreshadowed Eddie's 'Master of Puppets' in S4.

S1 and 2 scenes being referenced are "Nancy and Mike's conversation in the bathtub" and "Hopper + Lando Calrissian"

Lots of importance in COLOR CODING and blocking from the final shot of S4, and a good chunk is told in the costuming—like passing the torch from one character to another as their arcs overlap. For example, Hopper and Will share the "am I the curse and therefore putting my loved ones at risk by being near them?" sentiment for S5, therefore their wardrobe in the final shot of S4 is similar. Joyce/Jonathan and Nancy/Mike's costuming also similar for the same reason, whereas Eleven stands out because she's the first one coming into her own this season. The white for her represents shedding of false skins.

Character duos this season will be primarily dressed in colors of blue/green and yellow/red.

There's lots of symbolism and foreshadowing for every character in S5 from the moment Will touches his neck in the last sequence of S4.

S4 focused on themes of lies and miscommunication, and everyone is going to have to work through these lies before they can defeat Vecna.

Murray and Argyle are both back. Dimitri and Yuri don't seem to be in the beginning of the season.

One thing left unresolved with the Russian plot. Something important will happen involving the machine and the green liquid from the Starcourt bunker. Reference of Dustin vowing to die with Steve when they initially discovered it.

Hopper, Joyce, Mike, Will, and El had to be away from Hawkins, otherwise Vecna wouldn't have won.

An important death that they're nervous about given the reception to Eddie (not Joyce or Jonathan—see details below).

Eleven

We'll see her unlike we've seen her before. A badass who doesn't take shit from anyone. Not a Monster, not a Hero, Jane. Think: adult El could be headed for a Charles Xavier type role.

Erica, Lucas, and El will share scenes together.

El has significant blocking and development with many characters this season.

Max, Eleven & Max

The "kaleidoscope of colors" from a script the writers posted makes a feature in both the scene where young El remembers her mother's love in order to defeat Henry in the lab, as well as the scene where El revives Max. This is significant because it's the first time we see El using her powers on someone in a non-violent way.

El was able to revive Max because of she, herself, being revived in the bunker by Brenner and Co. It's a show, don't tell moment from the writers.

Max getting Vecna'd was foreshadowed in the beginning of 2x01.

Will, Henry/Vecna, The UD

Filming was supposed to commence mid-June, but Noah and Jamie were set to begin in May due to more complicated costuming. Will is going to require heavy prosthetics at some point.

Will's character design is blocked in three stages. The more the UD bleeds into Hawkins, the more connected to it he feels. The gates being open will physically influence him, especially when he's not as mentally strong.

He's kind of like "the card up Vecna's sleeve."

It appears they want to confuse the audience about Will.

Will wrestling with his own morality

Henry/Will mirrors. Will will sympathize with Henry because, unlike El, he knows how and what Henry thinks, and he can feel him.

Vecna and Will are very similar, but the difference is Will is made stronger by love not hate. They will play into that duality.

Vecna was nerfed in S4 compared to how we see him in S5. He'll be much stronger.

At the beginning, he'll be taking a hiatus while he plans how to divide and conquer now that everyone's back together in Hawkins.

Soteria will be the key to saving Will. If they want Will to be untraceable to Henry, they'll have to insert it into his neck and it'll be painful. Vecna not having access to Will fucks up his ability to leave the UD.

Byler/Mileven Triangle

Apparently, it's complicated and up in the air as of now.

Mike dealing with guilt this season. He feels guilty/responsibility for El. He feels stuck in a loop that keeps him from a truth he's scared to face.

Will and Mike to spend a good chunk of the season together based on character designs and blocking.

Will telling El that Mike won't like being lied to comes back with the painting. During a pre-time jump scene in 5x01, while everyone's together plotting how to defeat Vecna and brainstorming how to save Max, Mike brings up the painting El commissioned for a D&D analogy. Will has to pull Mike aside and confess he lied about El commissioning the painting. Mike gets angry, because he doesn't know about Will's feelings and feels embarrassed that Will thought he was that pathetic he needed to be given a pep talk. Their own version of a "fight you can't come back from." Immediately after their fight, we get the time skip.

Mike's character motivations are unclear and seem to be kept under wraps. After the time jump, he and El won't be talking as much because he's keeping the details about Will's painting from her. She's gonna ask what's wrong between him and Will, and he lies/is very vague.

Joyce, Hopper, Jopper

Joyce feels immense guilt/responsible over Bob's death since she's the one that asked him to help in S2, which is why she pushed Hopper away at first.

Hopper has a secret from S1 that was never addressed, and it comes back to haunt him.

Joyce sustains an injury in S5 that is reminiscent of the way someone was injured in S3, but it isn't critical and she'll be okay.

Jopper are the most established couple after the time jump. Lots of bickering still, but Hopper trusts Joyce more than he ever has.

Jonathan, Nancy, Jancy

So far, does not seem like a breakup is happening.

Jonathan's still lying about the college letter and distant because of it, and Nancy thinks he's not as into the relationship and that there might be someone else. She confronts him, which leads to a talk. She's touched by the lengths he would go to try and protect her and any of their future children even from himself.

A moment where we're led to believe Jonathan dies but doesn't, like Hopper in S3.

Hopper-Byers Family

These five characters slowly unraveling their arcs together and have always been closely linked. Their perfect endings are together.

We see the family combining, especially in relation to El.

Joyce gets to witness Hopper being paternal and tender towards the boys.

Scenes with Joyce, Jonathan, and Will

Hopper being back lifts a weight off Jonathan's shoulders.

If Mike's and Nancy's character's clothing is important at this point of the time line and that means they feel similar feelings, this could mean that byler has a chance. BUT then we read this: ''(...) He (Mike) feels stuck in a loop that keeps him from a truth he's scared to face.'' And

THIS LITERALLY MEANS BYLER. FOR REAL. Like byler could be endgame. Also, remember Eleven's injury in S3? Do you remember the leak of a shoe covered in blood?

Vent post y'all are gonna hate me for.

I viscerally hate how the Duffers treat most of their non white or queer characters and I hate even more viscerally, how y'all big byler blogs in your circle jerk of other 5 big byler blogs casually like to ignore many red flags the show has.

Y'all like to say: "tHe DufFeRs ArE gReAt WrIteRs" and it's like girl, who are you lying to??? They aren't top shit writers at all. The Duffers are pretty mid imo. Yeah, they run a good show that's fun to watch and theorize abt , but that doesn't mean they're good writers cuz they're not.

1. they completely side lined Will during s3 for the sake of their straight romances: lumax, jancy, mlvn, duzie and partly stobin (even if stobin wasn't endgame, thankfully, Steve's intentions were clearly wanting to date Robin and they gave it a lot of screen time). Will was sidelined bc he didn't fit the straight romance plotline bc they planned to make him gay or whatever. Now in s4 Will and his feelings have been used as mlvn toilet paper. Yes, we like to say this is build up for byler but canonically, Will's feelings have been used to clean the shit mlvn leaves behind.

2. Billy was sympathized a lot during the last 2 seasons. They gave him the sad backstoryTM in order for ppl to feel sorry for him. Billy's backstory is literally Jonathan's but whatever.

3. El's anger issues are constantly girlboss-ified. They down play her bullying situation and literally just use it for El to be a ''girlboss" without realizing how triggering that is. As someone who has lived bullying, seeing it be ignored by canon and fanon is super sad. The whole Rink-O' Mania experience must have been so traumatizing for her yet, everyone absolutely forgets abt it 🤷🏻‍♀️

4. Robin, Erica and Argyle are stereotypical characters. Robin is the quirky lesbian with social anxiety, Erica is the badass black woman and Argyle is the Latino stoner that sells weed to white kids and works as a pizza delivery guy.

5. Altho Argyle and Eddie both do drugs, (Eddie actually sells K-12 to a minor and nobody batted an eye. He has a huge fan base). Eddie is held in a pedestal bc "poor thing 🥺 he lives in a trailer with his uncle 🥺". Tell me a single fact you know abt Argyle that isn't "he smokes weed", "he is Jonathan's only friend", "drives a van" and "he works at a pizzeria". Exactly, Eddie is given a useless backstory and Argyle isn't.

6. Dustin stopped being important to the plot sometime around s2 and s3. He is only there to curse and be mildly funny. My guy needs to hangout with ppl his age cuz he only hangs out with seniors.

7. El needs to stop having so much "I'M THAT BITCH" screentime like I need in s5 for El's arc to not just be her becoming more powerful and falling in love with Mike. I need the Duffers to explore her trauma and problems.

8. Angela should have been run over by the van.

9. Patrick should have been given a backstory that isn't the basic "strict black parents that hit their kids cuz they are a disgrace". Patrick's backstory is actually racist af, fight w the wall.

10. As Lex already said, they didn't trigger tag the ep where Jason and his friends assault Lucas and Erica. Like wtf? Why was that necessary? Why did I have to see a black boy being held at gunpoint by some white guy?? Was it relevant to the plot?? I don't think so. And then I've got to see ppl online be like "Jason wasn't that bad. He was just mourning" like bitch you can stfu. This is what happens when you make the racist assholes conventionally attractive.

Also the fact that Lucas's arc is fulfilled by him fist-fighting Jason and "embracing his weirdness" aka accepting he is black. His arc was not fulfilled at all cuz that ending spoke so loud to me. It showed how little empathy ppl have towards the struggles poc ppl living in the Midwest have. Y'all circle jerks can only see racism when it's super obvious.

Furthermore, parents complained when ST showed "an excessive amount of smoking" yet nobody batted an eye when Billy tried to run over Lucas, when Erica (an 11 y.o ffs) was chased by white kids or when Lucas was held at gunpoint by Jason.

All of this happened while they focused on Max's guilt and mourning that, yeah, are important but certainly not less important than racism!!!

11. In s3, they gave us that whole Nancy vs The Bigots arc that was honestly just triggering and useless. It didn't help Nancy's character at all, quite the opposite it put unnecessary angst.

12. Lonnie being presented as an abuser just for him to never be spoken of again. Can we please get to explore the trauma he left the Byers's with?

13. The fact that both queer relationships are considered "sloppy seconds" is extremely sad. Both Vickie and Mike are rebounding from their failed relationship with Robin and Will. These 2 ships have caused more commotion than Jancy and Jopper together! (These last ships are technically sloppy seconds too but everybody forgets that. Shocker!!)

14. Last but not least, ppl blame Argyle for being the one to get Jonathan into smoking weed as if Jonathan probably wasn't the one looking for it. Let me tell you, that you only find weed if you look for it.

7. El - i think El would still love to rock the overalls like in S2. I also think they would love nature because it’s so unlike the lab and i think she would love the colour purple hence the purple flowers in their hair.

"My name." She ran her fingers over the photo, of her at the age of four with an older woman who had matching beauty marks. It was captioned 'Evelyn and Steven, 1971.'

"Oh. Who's the pretty lady?" Robin studied the photo.

"My great-aunt, Evelyn. She was incredible. She died only a couple of years after this was taken. But I want to name myself after her."

"Well then, it's nice to meet you, Evelyn Dingus Harrington," Robin replied, trying to hold back a laugh when Evelyn swatted at her.

"Still not taking the middle name 'Dingus'." Evelyn rolled her eyes. "And maybe Evie for short?"

After telling Dustin, it didn't take long for Evie to tell others about her new name, and for it to spread beyond those she had told. There was no real conversation about it until one day she'd been talking into dinner with the Sinclairs after dropping Lucas and Erica off.

"Lucas and Erica told us about your new name. Evelyn is such a pretty name, and it seems to suit you so well." Sue said as Evie joined her in the kitchen.

"Thanks. I. It's after my great-aunt. She was amazing and I loved her so much, it's a way I could honor her. And when I told Dustin, I found out that it's also Claudia's middle name. So I've got two incredible women in my name." Evie explained. She paused for a moment to think, before continuing. "I've been thinking about adding a middle name. I want my middle name to be Sue."

"Oh, Honey." Sue stopped what she was doing and turned to pull Evie into a hug. "That is so sweet, I would be so happy for you to take my name as your middle name."

More Stranger Things/Steddie fanfic tropes I love

When Steve comes out to Eddie as… well, Not Cis (sometimes she’s trans, sometimes they’re gender-fluid, doesn’t matter to me. In this house, we love Steve Harrington and gender fuckery, and every combination thereof), and Eddie is practically exploding with support, love, and admiration for him. Even if they’re not together yet.

The repeating of Steve and Robin’s “Oh.” “Yeah, oh.” exchange, but this time Steve’s the one coming out.

Wayne seeing Steve and Eddie interact exactly ONE TIME post-Vecna and immediately clocking how they feel about each other, and also damn right he ships it.

Wayne in general. The greatest man the world has ever known, or ever will know.

Wayne being Best Grandpa Ever to the Steddie baby. Seriously, every time there’s a baby (whether mpreg or otherwise), Wayne is the ultimate grandpa to that child. I cry every time, lol.

Wayne bonding with Steve. Just, Wayne bonding with Steve. Gets me every single time, dang it. When Wayne refers to both Eddie and Steve as his boys, or his sons, I am GONE.

Dustin’s reaction to finding out about Steddie. He’s always supportive, of course, but sometimes he’s more blasé (“You and Eddie? Well, duh! I knew that!”), other times he’s more blindsided (“Steve? And Eddie?? Are DATING???”), but I always love seeing how he reacts.

Any time there’s trouble in Steddie paradise, and the boys are being dumb, and someone (usually Dustin) threatens to sic Erica on them if they don’t work things out. It’s only happened in a couple fics, but I have the same exact reaction every time (“DO IT DO IT DO IT”)

Erica and Max. My duel badass queens, who I’d love to see interact in fic more. There would be no survivors.

Speaking of Max, any time she and Steve have a very sibling-like relationship. Those two need each other.

Will coming out to Steve (preferably before Steve has done so himself), and immediately being hugged, and reassured that this changes nothing. That Steve will always be there for him. The Byers Coming Out works with Eddie too, but I like it best when it’s Steve. Something about their relationship just makes it so heartwarming to me.

When Eddie does something that hurts Steve emotionally (perhaps not on purpose, but they’re still young - it’s gonna happen), and Robin swoops in (bird puns, lol) to take care of her best friend. To the point where she’s probably about 0.5 seconds away from punching Eddie right in the dick. I adore a feral, protective Robin so much. Steve deserves to have that kind of fierce love in his life.

As far as AUs are concerned, I will never not love a good pre-season 4 Steddie interaction. Especially if it’s in Season 3. Scoops Steddie my beloved, the love of my life.

I made Laura lesbian in Clash of Worlds / The Badger+Shattered Memories (which will be two halves of the same coin after I finish rewriting the layout for The Badger).

I know there might be some people pissed off that I made her queer but come on...

That is a lesbian woman and you cannot convince me otherwise.

To make this very clear; while Shattered Memories + The Badger take place in the XMCU that doesn't mean it's entirely accurate to canon. They exist in their own self-contained universe (alongside Blackened Angel). I never once claimed that these fics follow canon as not only do both fics (SM/TB + BA) exist in the same universe, they also aren't close to accurate to the canon.

Also Laura is not only attempting to destroy Hydra (like in X-Men Evolution) but she's also a total badass vigilante goddess who kills sex traffickers, rapists, pedophiles, and other kinds of sexual abusers and bigots. Obviously her experience with Micah as a 6 year old (yes, I know Micah isn't a PDF-file, but he is a HUDE fuckin' bigot) changed her as a person permanently and lead her down the path of being this vigilante she is now, as well as some of the contents in the NYX comics being in her storyline in this universe with the sexual abuse and possible trafficking after Logan's amnesia (because if he had his memories, there would be no fucking way he wouldn't burn cities down to protect his baby girl from those monsters). Laura was taken by Hydra instead of Stryker because unlike Olivia and Logan she didn't choose to be in the program, much like her canon counterpart. She was forced into it (taking Olivia's original storyline and molding it to fit Laura to make her still somewhat accurate to canon) so she's traumatized but in a drastically different way than Liv and Logan. But in this timeline, her trauma made her a bit of a comedian because I love snarky, bitchy, and slightly goofy Laura too much.

Anyways, since The Badger and Blackened Angel exist in the same universe, it's very likely that Laura might become a regular in BA because Laura, Alyssa, Sarah, and Erica have such strong potential to be the best girl group out there. There needs to be more girl power in BA, especially with an absolute bad bitch like Laura.

TL;DR: I made Laura lesbian because not even God can stop me and there needs to be more queerness and girl power in Blackened Angel.

Whats your thoughts about the Hellfire Club scene with Eddie and Erica? I love it so much, and I love how he celebrates her for dragging his ass even tho she does it in front of all his friends. Would have loved to see more of their dynamic, we were robbed 😆😍

I do love it from his POV but PLEASE also consider hers: Dustin (DUSTIN) comes over to the middle school from the high school to request her presence (and it SURELY had to be a request, they were desperate) and help (again) and she turns up wearing an american flag, DND books held like a shield, head held high, and the boys flank her into the dungeon. She sees the king upon his throne, potentially scary knights to either side of him, and you know what goes through her head when he says no?

But like, here's the thing. She walks in knowing he needs her for this campaign. They either run the campaign with her, or they fail the campaign, or they don't run the campaign. He's not going to cancel. And his players aren't going to fail. She knows, going in, that he's going to let her play.

And like.... not for nothing but this is the kid that bargained for infinite free ice cream as payment for helping the Scoop's troop infiltrate a top secret underground Russian government facility performing interdimensional science shenanigans.

But HE doesn't know, when she walks in, who she is or what she's been through. He can't.

But... she says her name, and what's his reaction?

Like. He might have said no to someone else (though her response to him saying no was points in her favor no matter what), but he's heard of her. There's only two ways that could have occurred: either the boys have talked about her, or other people have, gossip that travels all the way to the high school. I'm betting the former, and... well, the boys know what she's done. Regardless of "little sister" status, they all know she's a badass- Dustin especially. Dustin, with whom Eddie seems to be closest. Dustin, who thinks all of his friends are badasses (because they are).

So of COURSE Eddie has heard the name Erica Sinclair.

And he teases her, pushes to see how she'll push back, and she pushes back hard. Hard enough he can see Dustin was right. Hard enough to hang with the girls.

Even if her character IS named after a my little pony. Maybe because of it.

I think they will get along fantastically when the dust clears and Eddie gets out of the hospital. She'll make a great addition to Hellfire Club nights.

the way billy would've fit in with any of the groups in s4. yes i am going to speak about this. (this got long)

cali group: billy in his natural habitat would've been absolutely amazing. the trio smoking weed together?? billy being extra dramatic and sassy when he's high. if they're high enough, those boys will commit minor felonies together! argyle always supports his boys when they're screaming about their broken love lives (jonathan crying about nancy and billy being a sad little gay). billy would be screaming so dramatically while hauling that dead dude into the van and then complaining about how his clothes got all bloody the next second. he'd be cheering argyle on as he drives while the others all scream in terror in the back, trying to stop the bleeding. billy would adore the shit out of will, another gay. they'd bond over how shitty boys are and how they have no options but at least in cali, there are more willing boys. billy would always tell will to forget about mike and jonathan would agree very loudly. billy definitely would've absolutely non stop GLARED at mike after will confessed and mike didn't catch the hint. him and el would've been amazing together because they can bond over their abusive dads and pretty moms. el and will go to billy (the cooler big brother, sorry jon) to rant about mike. billy would terrorize the shit out of angela and her stupid friends for even thinking of messing with el.

hawkins gang: no offence but the hawkins older teens gang are all the same people in different fonts. sure nancy and robin were badasses that one episode but they're good girls at heart. steve is also a good guy at heart. so is eddie but in a drug dealing dork way. billy would've been a great addition with his loud personality and being a takes-no-bullshit kind of guy. he would insult each of them (him and robin roast each other) but be a lot of help. physically, he's probably the strongest and he'd be great at thinking up quick escape plans.

robin and billy would've been an unstoppable queer duo who are also potty mouths and anxious kids with obvious tells (shaking and stuttering). nancy and billy would've constantly been at each other's throats and it would've been great comedy. billy definitely got in the way of steve and nancy flirting because gross. eddie and billy would've easily bonded about their similar taste in music. if he saw eddie perform metallica on the roof, that boy's clothes would've flew off so fast and he'd start twirling his hair all giggly. we could've finally seen more of steve and billy's homosexual flirting and fighting. they would be reluctant friends and billy would have so much trouble trying not to flirt with steve. robin would cough really loud when billy stares at steve all lovey dovey. harringrove would've been amazing in s4

hawkins gang (younger teens): billy and lucas would've become besties on the court. we could've seen him apologize to lucas and then offer to teach him basketball so he isn't always on the bench every game. billy always hypes lucas up when he is in a game. he takes him and max out for shakes after practice, and max starts to hate the fact that her boyfriend and her brother are friends. lucas definitely grows taller than billy and he has the absolute best time of his life making fun of billy, who threatens to stop giving lucas rides everywhere.

let's say vecna still targets max: billy would 100% stay with max and lucas at creel's house because no way in hell is he leaving his sister behind with a literal demon that could kill her. when jason arrives, he fights him instead of lucas so max survives. plus we know that max and billy's relationship was getting a lot better between end of s2 and start of s3 so if billy survived, those two would literally be evil chaotic siblings who torment everyone around them with a smile. lucas is very scared. erica would love billy because they're both sassy and take no bullshit from the people around them. billy would tease lucas whenever erica yells at him. dustin would probably reluctantly accept billy as part of the gang because everyone else accepts him.

russia gang: hopper, joyce, and murray (billy's a weird kid and murray likes weird) would immediately adopt billy. in this au, billy is probably with hopper in russia and then joyce and murray find them. hopper is the absolute sweetest with billy and he's very gentle with him because he sees how terrified billy is. he also misses his kid so he takes another one in. he explains to billy what the upside down is and what happened to him. they share a cell so when billy has nightmares about the mind flayer, hopper is always there for him. when he has nightmares about his dad, hopper hugs billy close and lets the poor boy cry. he sees red when billy tells him how his dad treats him all the time and swears to never let him go back to that man ever again. billy starts seeing hopper as his dad.

billy helps out in all of hopper's escape plans. when the russians make them line up in front of the demogorgan, billy starts hyperventilating but hopper and enzo reassure him that they'll be okay. they're like his overprotective dads because wtf why is a literal child here in this high tech russian prison. when joyce and murray show up, joyce is all motherly with him and she immediately starts bundling him up in layers. she doesn't let him do any fighting. she makes him stick with her and when he argues that he can help, the other adults also agree that he needs to rest. if billy was in this gang in s4, he could've also healed as a person and become better because now he knows what love is. like hopper and joyce tell him all the time, love doesn't hurt his body or his feelings. billy ends up getting adopted by hopper and joyce and murray is like his crazy uncle.

“Dustin, honey, wait a minute. Come here and take this PJ sandwiches I made for you and your friends from the club!!!” your mum yelled at your little brother and you just rolled your eyes. You were already running late and your mum was making it worse. “Hellfire isn’t that type of club where you can bring PJ sandwiches, mum!” Dustin yelled from upstairs and started running down the stairs towards you. "It's a cult, isn't it, Dustin," your mother gasped, she always managed to come up with the absolute worst-case scenarios. It was Friday evening and you were driving your brother to his D&D session with Eddie Munson and his Hellfire club. You also promised Robin and Steve to go with them to the Cinema. “Mum seriously, it's not a cult and you need to stop it with the sandwiches!” Dustin yelled and rolled his eyes when he passed by you towards the kitchen to stop your mother. You started tapping your foot nervously, checking your watch for the tenth time this evening. “Dustin, hurry up,” you urged him. You wanted to go inside with him for few minutes in hope to see Eddie. Yeah, you had this big high school crush on Eddie fucking Munson! It was kind of embarrasing, really. You fancied that boy more than it was healthy. You admired him, the whole school called him freak and he didn’t mind at all. He was who he was, and he wasn’t ashamed of it and he didn’t give a fuck, what these asshole at school thought about him. He had his band, his Hellfire club and he didn’t need anyone else's approval. You really admired that. You, just like Eddie, was a big metalhead, you loved Iron Maiden, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Antrax, you had their posters all over your room, you listened to their music every day, but you were too scared to admit it in front of your classmates and friends. They would never understand it. You also loved horror movies, tattoos and badass things, but you have never admited it out loud at school, afraid that people would judge you for liking stuff like that. You loved Eddie because he was everything you wanted to be. You always dreamed of the day when you would ask him out to see a new horror movie with you or to go to an Iron Maiden concert with you. Standing in the crowd with Eddie hugging you from behind, humming the lyrics into your ear, kissing you between the songs, wrapping you in his arms and never letting you go. You started having this concert fantasy again while waiting for Dustin and you totally lost track of time, when Dustin waved his hand in front of your face. “Ewww Y/N, I really hope that you are not daydreaming about Steve right now, with this lovesick expression on your face,” Dustin snickered and nudged you towards the door. “What the fuck, Dustin! How many times do I have to tell you, that I am not into Steve, he is my friend,” you said and rolled your eyes. Dustin wasn’t stupid, he knew, that you have a thing for one of his friends, but it wasn’t Steve. You two finally got into your small car and you drove him to his D&D session. You entered the creepy house and you looked around hopefully to see Eddie, but he was nowhere to be find. You sighed and said hi to everyone. “Hi, Y/N” Mike said cheerfuly and grinned at you. “Don’t you want to play with us,” he added quickly and looked at you with hope in his eyes. He might be dating Eleven and being totally in love with her, but he also has had this sweet crush on you since he was little boy and he was always happy to see you and spend time with you. ‘ “No, Mike, I am sorry. I can’t, I promised Steve and Robin, to go to Cinema with them,” you smiled kindly at him. “Its too bad, Erica is grounded and we desperately need someone to play instead of her,” he added. “Yeah, sorry kiddo, I really can’t, actually I am already late, I am supposed to pick up Steve at seven,” you answered and wanted to check your watch again, when a denim clad arm wrapped around your shoulders and you felt your heart skip a beat. “Didn’t you hear the lady, Mike?! She can’t play with us, she has a date with Steve The Hair Harrington,” Eddie said with a smirk plastered on his face. “It’s not a date!” you protested quickly, your cheeks turning red. “It’s just a movie, and Robin is going with us,” you quickly added. You really didn’t want for Eddie to think that you are dating Steve. “So, what kind of movie are you going to watch?” Eddie asked you, his hand still wrapped around your shoulders, his brown doe eyes looking right into your soul. “A-a-aliens,” you stattered, feeling super nervous being so close to him. “Hmmm, interesting choice, I thought that you would say Pretty in Pink,” he smirked. “It’s a date,” he added triumphally and took a step away from you. “It’s not a date!” you said stubbornly, getting slightly annoyed with him. “Oh, princess, trust me, when guy picks a movie like this, it’s a date,” he smirked wickedly and you almost melted at the pet name. “It’s a perfect opportunity,” he continued and started circling around you like a shark around his prey. “It’s a horror movie, it’s full of scary and jumpy scenes. The girl will be scared and grab boys hand, hide her face into his shoulder,” he winked at you, and all you could think about was how many girls he already tricked like this, so they ended in his bed and it made you really jealous. “And if the boy is with the girl alone at home, she might climb up on to his lap, feeling more secure there. She will hide her face into his chest, not watching that movie anymore, and the boy will be such a gentleman and he would try to distract her by kissing her,” Eddie continued, his big warm eyes scanning your face, clearly enjoying your discomfort and the fact that your cheeks started to be as red as tomato. “And it could possibly lead to big makeout session or maybe even sex. So trust me, princess, when guy picks a movie like this, his intentions are not innocent,” he finished his speech, standing right in front of you, making you look up, since he was slightly taller than you. You wanted to slap him for making you blush like a little girl in front of your brother and his friends and on the other hand you wanted to grab his T-shirt and pull him closer and kiss him like there is no tomorrow. You did nether of these things, you grabbed the courage and took a step closer to him, making him raise his eyebrows questinably. “You know, Munson. The problem is, that Steve did not pick this movie. I did. Steve and Robin don’t know what movie we are about to watch, they probably think that I pick Top Gun,” you smirked when you saw the confused look on Eddie’s face. “I pick it, because I loved the first movie. I saw it at least 15 times, Dustin can confirm that. I am not easily scared, I don’t jump up at scary scenes, and I will definitely not grab Steve's hand for protection. He is scaredy-cat, he will probably run away from the cinema after 30 minutes. The moment when the first Alien falls from the ceiling, he will run away screaming, same for Robin. I will probably stay there all alone, enjoying the movie, while they will be dissing my taste in movies behind the corner in the café bar. So once again, loud and clear, Munson, it’s not a date, are we clear?!!!“ you yelled, stabbing your finger into Eddie’s chest. “You are wrong princess, it is a date,” he said again with a smug smile. “Everybody out,” he screamed maniacally, surprising you and all of his D&D friends. “Because fuck Harrington, and fuck Robin, they can go together to see Pretty in Pink. You are going to see Aliens with me, Princess!” he added, looking deeply into your eyes, finally seeing you, the girl who was hiding behind the fake facade. “And you can hold my hand or sit on my lap even if you are not scared of the Aliens,” he whispered into your ear, so only you could hear him, making you shiver with anticipation. “Hey, Eddie,” Dustin yelled from the doorstep. “She is also this huge Maiden fan,” he winked and run away after Mike and Lucas. “Well, well, well, princess. Full of surprises I see,” he gave you a heated look. “Tell me you can play a quitar and I am a goner,” he pushed you gently to the wall, caging you into his arms. “No, I can’t,” you admited and he noded, not expecting anything else. “But, you can teach me,” you added shyly looking at him through you eyelashes. “Oh princess, I can’t wait to teach you a lot of things,” Eddie purred into your ear, his voice full of tempting promises.

Lois Lane is primarily known for being Superman's girlfriend - now wife, in the comics - but she's got so much more to her than that. She's in this bracket mainly for Erica Durance's portrayal in the TV show Smallville, which is witty and charming and charismatic and who has an insane amount of chemistry with Tom Welling's Clark Kent, but I have to give it to comics!Lois, who's everything Erica Durance portrays and more, including being a badass mom and a Pulitzer winner. Blorbo feelings can truly transcend medium fr!!!

Tara Maclay is a recurring character, later upgraded to main cast, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, my favorite TV show of all time. She was introduced explicitly to be Willow's love interest, at first using magic as a metaphor for lesbianism and later was part of the first lesbian kiss on prime time television; she's also one of the most famous cases of bury your gays ever. Justice for Tara. Also she has the voice of a fucking angel.

WAIT WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT THE DUFFER BROS ABILITY TO WRITE VERY COMPELLING AND INTERESTOING CHARACTERS ONLY TO LATER DROP THE BALL!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!! it annoyed me a little boit in season 2 as i started noticing it with nancy and johnathan the most???? and i had a gut feeling that they would cut kali off pretty soon because she's too offshoot from hawkins (which is so disappointing since she's literally one of the only women of colour on that cast......) but i think max's intro and steve's development kept me from complaining too much. and then i noticed it again with the same characters in season 3, but got a little distracted because of erica and robin, and then by season 4 i was like okay so which one of our core cast members will you be cutting out as much as possible and then try distracting me by dangling a new character in my face who will die within the season? and it was eddie, chrissie, etc etc. all this to say, i might have problems with the duffer brothers politics, but i also have very real problems with their writing, both character driven and themetically, and this feels like you are solving at least one of those problems in a very real way (and i like the ensuing thematic changes that are occuring because of it) (largely: communication as love and growing up as accepting to take people as they are) (idk i might have made that up a little and doing a lot of projection on that last one)

god i could write an entire essay on this topic ,,,, they pissed me off so bad with season 4 its my least favorite season entirely for that reason. they completely undid SO many important characterizations because they clearly added too many new characters by that point and couldnt handle it and its just. awful.

jonathan especially gets the worst of this. season 1 hes so complex and he gets his own scenes centered around HIM ! he has a personality !!! he has monologues and amazing scenes. then season 2 comes and its like ok. more focus on will. cool makes sense. then 3 and hes more just nancys sidekick (cool but ??? wheres his arc ???) and FOUR ????? no. fuck season 4 jonathan that was fucking criminal. jonathan gets stuck in a loop of taking care of his family, getting frustrated by it, and then repeats. duffer bros need to apologize to charlie idc

and nancy :(( she had SUUUUCH a good arc and her story felt complete but of COURSE because shes a badass female character they had to reduce her to a love interest ?? AGAIN ??? in season 4 with a shitty love triangle that was concluded YEARS ago. i hate it. so deeply.

but yeah like u said they just bring in new characters and then axe them immediately and then the core group then suffers and its just ,,, so so so shitty. kali is just gone. so is argyle. like what the fuck.

Category One: VERY FAVORITE

It's what it says on the tin. My very favorite characters. Spoiler alert: I am Bad At Favorites.

Lydia Martin I fell in love with her the instant she was good at bowling. Perfect even. And then the "sucking for his pleasure line," and then, and THEN we get her arc in s2? She's alone, and a little brittle and I have so many theories I've rambled about a million times regarding her childhood and how her powers have manifested before. I could write an entire tumblr post just about Lydia and my thoughts. I love her so much.

Malia Tate

I knew I was going to ADORE her the instant she punched Stiles for turning her back to human. I'm only sad we didn't get to see her initial reunion with Scott. I do firmly believe she throws Scott around in bed while they're together. I love how "yeah i don't really care about your social norms" she is about everything. And how she learns!! And then how much she loves Kylie. She leaves the safety of her den to get Kylie's doll back!!! I love her.

Scott McCall

I liked him at first. I definitely enjoyed seeing him hurt. I always gravitate to the prettiest men with blood on their face in any given fandom. And in Teen Wolf, that is definitely Scott. And then by about my third rewatch I was even more in love with his character, his willpower, persistence, stubbornness, empathy, and leadership. Many of you know Fury is my favorite episode and I love Scott in it so much. I love him.

Mason Hewitt

I was in love with Mason IMMEDIATELY. He was just so clearly such a good friend to Liam. And his smile. And then he helps Scott at the bonfire with no questions asked. And then he helps Lydia. That boy with ZERO spn powers helps Lydia charge berserkers. And then he is so excited for Liam to be a werewolf. And in the inner circle. And then he's the Beast! And he's with Corey! And he helps in s6. I love Mason. Love, love, love. <3

Kira Yukimura

Literal ray of sunshine. Awkward, nerdy, new girl! bad ass, katana-wielding kitsune. I was in love with her from the first interaction with her dad. And then she has fun with Scott at the sheriff's station! And then she learns what Scott is and is the first person to be tender and gentle about it? Ahhh. And then she has angst and the way were *robbed* of a s6 Kira arc. Still mad. Forever mad. But I ADORE Kira so much. She's amazing and I love her.

Vernon Boyd

Loved him when he wouldn't let Stiles pull one over on him with the money. Loved him when he wanted to be like Scott. Loved him when cared sooo much about Erica. Love the angst with Alicia and hate how little we get. He went and worked at an ice rink!!! I just. He's caring and kind and compassionate and observant and quiet and I love him for it.

Melissa McCall

!! The way she is trying so hard. And the way the world is just conspiring against her. She clearly loves Scott so much. I loved their s1 and s2 scenes sooo much. I really wish we'd gotten more of those little intimate mother/son moments later in the series. But I also love how she's still human. Is just trying her best. She's amazing.

Satomi Ito

I love her. She's a badass. And friends with Deaton. And I love how she interacts with Noshiko. And she has so much anger but she does eventually learn one way of expressing it. And Iove that she cares so much for her pack. Love love love love so much love. I watch all of like four Satomi parts soo closely every time.

Ken Yukimura

"Here's all that research you did for that boy you like." What is not to love, though? He's a history nerd! Married to a 900-year-old kitsune! And he loves his daughter so much. He's a good cook! He's so cool. Maybe Ken is what I want to be when I grow up. Even if I am technically older.

Alan Deaton

!! He's so great. While I can see an argument for him withholding information in the first two seasons- I feel like it makes total sense why he does. For so long, this supernatural part of his life has been on the back burner. Since the Hale fire, which he couldn't stop, and then suddenly it's back.

And by s2 he's actively helping Scott figure things out. He's teaching him and Isaac to take pain. Something it never dawned on Peter or Derek they'd like to know. In s3 he saves Stiles, in s6 he faces the fear of the anuk-ite with more grace than anyone. I love. Love always.

Noshiko Yukimura

I adore her so much. I loved younger Noshiko and I love how she's clearly matured since those events. She's also sooo hot. And so badass. And has STELLAR taste in men. So much love for Noshiko forever. <3

Braeden

She shows up on a motorcycle, rescues Isaac, almost dies, FACES DOWN A PACK OF ALPHAS and survives it! And all while looking So Good. I love how she deals with Scott and Derek. I love that she worked for Deucalion after he slashed her throat open.

(quick note if you are tired of me talking about how much i love these characters, this is not the post for you, it doesn't change much)

Erica Reyes

Complete stubborn af BADASS of my dreams. I loved her when she was epileptic and still trying to climb up that rope. I loved her when she showed up and slammed Scott into a locker. I adored her when she hit on Allison. I love how she was so fierce and protective of Boyd and how she terrified Derek. I love her.

Hayden Romero

The way she looks at Liam in her intro. She is going to *destroy* this boy, that she has a crush on, so hard. She's also stubborn and strong-willed, and responsible. She's working so hard to help her sister, who she loves with her entire heart. She's great, and I love her.

Danny Mahealani

Everyone loves Danny! As they should. <3 He has terrible taste in men (relatable tho), and he loves to look disrespectfully (also relatable). I love his interaction with Stiles and Derek in s1 as well as his friendship with Jackson. I love that he's the one doing research on the ley lines! I hate how he disappears after 3b. I wanted more with knowledgable about supernatural Danny.

Meredith Walker

Meredith can leave Eichen any time she wants. She does. She generally stays there: to protect everyone else from herself. Meredith is what Lydia looks like when we don't see her perspective and I think about that soo much. I also love her and Lydia's interaction: "Not all monsters do monstrous things." My heart.

Category Two: VERY FAVORITE ALSO but fandom tries to ruin them for me

I love these characters so much, but the way fandom tries to make them into shells of their actual selves. Or just make everything about them always. There are so many great characters in this fandom!! It's an ensemble show with fantastic characters and actors!! So to be clear: I love the canon versions of these characters.

Stiles Stilinski

-would fall directly under Kira in favorites category.

I fucking love this dude. He's sarcastic and rough around the edges, and awkward. His fingers are impossibly long. He's just the right side of morally gray. And terrified he's going to fall too far the other direction. He's a little broken inside from the way his mother died and is codependent with Scott. Love love love him.

Peter Hale

-Would fall right after Araya in the villain category

I love him. He is ruthless. Selfish. Tits out. He's funny. I love how he's so obsessed with Scott. He spends a whole season working with Kate because of it. Kate who he kills in s1. Iconic villainy. Tbh, he's one of the villains I wish they'd leaned away from the redemption arc on. But I still like his commitment to family (in his mind). And the bravery it takes to step through that fire in s6 knowing exactly how it feels is damn impressive.

Derek Hale

-would fall after Isaac in love them so much category

He's super hot. Like all kinds of hot. Broody. He's such a mess that first season especially. His entire family was lost, he's been gone six years. He comes back and his sister dies first thing. Why he's a broody mess makes sense. And then, for a change, he can save his family! He saves Cora. It sucks to be at the expense of Erica and Boyd. But I feel like he makes his peace with things as best he can.

Young Derek Hale

Is just Derek only younger, really usnure why they are separate tbh.

Chris Argent

Of all the villains, he has the most convincing redemption arc. Possibly because he's just around more on-screen tbh. And he loses so much. By the end of the series Chris has lost everything. And he's such a mess about it. Also he's so stupidly hot.

I love him. He's another single parent trying his best. He clearly cares deeply about Stiles, even though he's often out of his depth. I love the bit where he's watching the kids just run Rafael in circles in 3b. The look on his face is so clearly: "it's about time you had to deal with their nonsense."

Jackson Whittemore

He's such an asshole, and I adore him for it. He's so mean. He's terrible for Lydia (and her for him) but I love that they end up friends. I love Jackson's relationship with Allison especially, and it haunts me who had to call him and explain what happened to her. I love his s2 arc because a "be careful what you wish for" arc always gets me.

Claudia Stilinski

Only because we just know so little about her. I enjoy my fanon interpretations, but that's all they are.

Very Favorite Villain Edition

Quite likely to be a controversial category. And my absolute favorite. I love OTT villains and does Teen Wolf provide me so well <3

Deucalion

I mean. If you're here. Chances are really high you have some idea how I feel about everyone's favorite British Drama Queen of a Demon Wolf. He calls himself Destroyer of Worlds. Alpha of Alphas. He's a hot fucking mess too. His corruption arc implies less megalomania, and yet.... and his redemption arc is... shaky, but I'm into that. He's not all that redeemed, and the look of pure glee on his face when he's about to beat Scott in 6b supports that. I love how obsessed he is with Scott, too. It's this delusional obsession and gyahh, I am here for it. He does help Scott in 5b, but I contend he did it for a price. <3

Kate

I stan a hot, evil woman always. You will uh, see that theme repeated on this list. And she's pretty unapologetically evil. Though you have to wonder ofc, how much Gerard shaped that. And she does have that little redemption saving Allison in s1. And really does clearly care for her. She's fun! And hot! And creepy and I am here for it.

Violet

Speaking of really hot, evil women. Hello! And she's reckless too? My heart can't even take that kind of thing. And she strangles Scott. The fact that we never got nagaul! Violet is criminal. To me. Personally.

Araya Calavera

Evil Mexican grandma shoots a person. In the street. In broad daylight. If that isn't badass af, I don't know what is. I also really love her interactions with Chris. She's fabulous.

Tamora Monroe

Once again pointing out the hot, evil woman theme. Though I think she's more nuanced than some of the others. She's one of the villains who deserved a redemption arc the most. She's also such a good leader and organizer. She's a good counselor and listener. Love her.

Jennifer Blake

Hot. Evil. Women. It's a whole thing okay. And while I will admit to being one HELL of a Deucalion stan, Jennifer deserved the redemption arc so much more. Her reasons for evil are far more valid. She wants to destroy the people who destroyed her and who wreak devastation in their wake. And get revenge on her ex. Valid of her.

Kali

Speaking of said ex. And hot. And evil. I wish we'd gotten more Kali. I think she feels more remorse than she wants to admit. I love, love, love the way she interacts with Deucalion. I accept "Deuc" from her only. And probably him too.

Ennis

He isn't on here, I'm more neutral on him. But because we get next to nothing about him. Very sad. I bet he's fun. Kali joins the alpha pack for him. Gotta be a reason.

Victoria Argent

Are you prepared to hear me go on about hot, evil women again? AND she bakes cookies. I love when she calls Stiles "the odd one". And she so clearly cares about Chris and Allison. It's utterly devastating when Allison blows her off right before her death. Love.

Void/The Nogitsune

He's just hungry. I love the potential of the nogitsune. And the angst it brings to Noshiko and Stiles especially. I am v excited to see where the movie takes this. But really, he's just hungry. That's not evil. As a favorite bounty hunter once said: "A girl's gotta eat."

Corinne

I think half the reason I fell in love with the show was all the hot, evil women. Jeff may be a gay man but he and I clearly have the same taste in women. I wish we knew more about Corinne to be honest, but I love her relationship with Braeden and am forever wondering about her relationships with Talia and Peter.

Matt Daehler

If he were a woman, he'd be higher. As it is, he's a creepy stalker dude and a lot of fun. I like when he shoots Scott, uh, a lot. I think there is definitely so much more room for exploring his relationship with Jackson. And he was a kid. That deserved redemption every bit as much as anyone else. Maybe more. He was a kid. His death is tragic af.

She's so great! I love her dark arc. I love her struggle to figure out who she is and her friendships with Lydia and Scott and Isaac and Stiles. I love how she tried so many hobbies and her conflict with her family, internal and external. I hate/love her death. I love her.

Isaac Lahey

He's so tall. And sarcastic. And he's not witty, and he's just a little mean. I love how he still wants to trust people, even after everything he goes through with his dad and then Derek. I love his relationships with Allison, Scott and Chris and Erica and Boyd. A lot like Chris, Isaac loses soo much.

Marin Morell

She's so interesting! I want to know about her life pre-canon so BAD. I feel like it's implied that she's Deucalion's emissary pre-corruption. Why does she stay? How does she feel about it? Why was she with him in the first place? How have her hands gotten dirty before? I have so many questions and theories, but I'd love to know more.

Cora Hale

!! She's a badass. She's basically girl-Derek, so what's not to love there? Broody, broken, angry. I love her back and forth with Lydia and Stiles so much.

Coach Bobby Finstock

What's not to love? This man is the living incarnation of Hot Chaotic Mess and I know I'm always in for a good time.

Mrs. Finch

What is her first name? I love her though her storyline vexes me. I know that it's probably just retconning, but the way I like to consider explanations for *why* she's head in the sand about being an alpha werewolf. Oh! I wonder if I will see parallels to that attitude in movie!Scott. Ohh. I'm gonna have Feelings. I love that she believes in Scott in AP Bio, when even some of his friends do not. I think about her fear a lot when Liam is beaten in science class. She knows he'll heal, ofc, but I think about her a lot for a minor character.

Brett and Lori Talbot

Beloved Satomi pack frens. Brett is a tall drink of water and Mason has rights. Like man. That eight-pack. And Lori is a bad ass. And she tries to help Kira. I enjoy them a lot!

Sydney

She wants to do well on her test. She's sick and still needs to take it! She gives Scott the picture of him, Lydia, Stiles and Malia. My heartttt. She's great and I love her. I have a lot of thoughts about her being friends with Brett and Lori.

Jordan Parrish

He's a cinnamon roll but on fire. Instant love. Plus he's half-naked A LOT, and I'm not mad about it.

Natalie Martin

She's trying in her way. I really think in her mind, Natalie is doing whatever she needs to do to prevent Lydia from becoming Lorraine. She wants to do the right thing, but isn't so good at seeing what that is.

Tracy Stewart

She's a badass. Hot and almost evil. And she has a tail. Only wins here.

Aiden and Ethan Steiner

They're fun. I like Ethan slightly better. Aiden is a subby straight boy though, and that's hard not to love.

Hayden's hot, badass deputy sister. Love her. I head canon she comes back to Beacon Hills to be the sheriff. <3

Endlessly fascinating. Mostly questions. I love that she's a dramatic! Bitch. Her intro is Superb. You can see the family resemblance. She's def Peter's sister.

I struggled with Theo. I love him as a villain and have begun to appreciate his more redeemed version. He's basically boy-Lydia, so of course, I adore him in that context. I just wasn't sure what category to put him in. So here he is. He's fun, and wow, is he just so compact. Talk about pleasing to look upon abs.
