Why isn’t it finished? 😭 I don’t usually read unfinished or discontinued series, but the summary really had me and I just had to read it – and now I’m hooked and I want more of this sexy hot hacker Yoongi! 😭 The story was also just so well written and the chemistry between reader and oc was so fucking perfect, and don’t get me started on the smut, like ugh 🥵 Gosh, I’m so sad there aren’t more parts to it (like the author planned four parts). But it’s so so good, and the cliffhanger isn’t horrible (in terms of wanting to read the next chapter). It can definitely be read as a one shot, I just really, really wished there was more, because, fuck, it was perfect! 💯💜✨

When you first came across the strange mask in the middle of the road, you thought nothing of it. There was nothing suspicious - it was just a plain, old, wooden mask with blue and red markings, complete with wooden white hair (totally normal - nothing to worry about), and it didn’t look so bad in its current state! You felt like you hit the lottery, the jackpot, you could see rupees whirling through your eyes like a slot machine. A little paint and it would look good as new! A perfect item to add to the bag!

However, you weren’t expecting to be so, uh, how do I put this… Haunted?

Yeah, haunted was the best word you could conjure to describe the damned thing. From the moment it was in your grasp, something felt off. Your pack felt hundreds of times heavier than it was, there were random creaks and bumps in the nights, small whispers, and of course the fact that the mask had a tendency to move on it’s own - like the one night you woke up and found that it SOMEHOW MADE ITS WAY ON YOUR PILLOW WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING!

To say you freaked out would be an understatement considering how fast you chucked it up against the wall with a shout, springing from your bed with your bedside ax (because that’s a totally normal thing to have) and mini statue of the goddess Hylia, ready to open a can of holy whoopass on the mere slab of wood.

At least, that’s what you were planning to do until you heard the deep, pained groan of a man and a burst of hot, white light emanating from the portion of the mask that split in half.

“Little one, why must you hurt me so?”

You held the mini statue of Hylia in front of you, visibly shaking like a chihuahua at the sound of the voice. The goddess would protect you from this foul beast.

Right?

“What in Hylia’s name are you?!” You screeched.

Its lips didn’t move but you heard it scoff, seemingly noticing your state of being.“Trying to get my sister to fight me?”

Huh? Sister?

Well that was a first.

“I - uh - well, you know - you’re - well...”

“A mask.” He stated, rather nonchalantly.

You huffed, processing to pick up the mask, still holding Hylia in front of you for fear of the mouth actually moving and biting your fingers off (or something much worse). You interrogated the mask for what felt like hours, when truly it was only ten minutes or so,before you got the answers you were looking for. The beast trapped inside was not a beast at all, but rather a deity lost to time itself, one that craved to be free of his prison.

A part of you considered calling a poexorcist but truly you didn’t even know if they even had the qualifications for poexorcizing a deity and you also didn’t know how he would take to that - so, eh, better not go that route.

Instead, you decided to take a chance to travel to see a man who was well versed in masks and the types that were out there. He wasn’t a salesman, more of a collector. The deity seemed fine enough with that idea, so you made a plan to visit your friend soon with your new, ever watchful item.

You quickly became close friends with the deity inside, finding him to be rather good company in the quiet of your home and the loneliness of the road. There was a part of you that wondered if he enjoyed your companionship too, having been forever locked away inside of this old piece of wood for goddesses knows how long.

However, this constant companionship made you realize what you had been missing in your life, and you found yourself sitting on the edge of indecision. On one hand, you wanted him free, so he could live out his life the way he saw fit, but on the other hand, you enjoyed having him with you, his mask always at arms reach, tucked safely at your side in bed or on your back pack on the road. You realized that if he did get his freedom, and he decided to leave, you would be left completely and utterly alone again, crumbling under the weight of the silence that would surround you again.

You had considered discussing the possibility of going with him, being his companion who could conjure up some money by selling your wares, but that conclusion came at the utmost worst of times.

As if they had fallen from the sky, you’d found yourself surrounded by moblins on all sides who were quickly encroaching upon you and your bag of valuables. One of them nabbed the mask away from your backpack, which led to you fighting for it back. It was the most improper game of tug-o-war ever, and especially not one without consequences. You yanked the mask free from the moblins grimy hands and you did so with such force that the mask went flying into the air, cracking in half on impact against the stone in the road. That’s when you were all blinded by the intense white light that filled each of your vision, feeling a massive wave of energy and rage pulsating through it. When it all died down, you found yourself no longer surrounded by the greedy little moblins and instead, face to face with the being behind the mask.

The Fierce Deity himself.

To his surprise, you did not cower in fear at the mere sight of him, rather looking up at him in awe filled curious wonder. He knelt down to you, cupping your face in his large hands as he looked you over and asked, “Are you hurt, little one?”

You shook your head in reply, still looking at him in awe. His face looked similar to the mask he was trapped in, but the lines on his face connected somewhere on his body and trailed under his tunic. You gently raised your hand up to touch him, feeling the warmth and softness of his features no longer hidden behind the wooden surface. “I’m alright, Fierce. Thank you.”

His gaze softened at your voice, relaxing now that he knew you were unharmed under his watch. You looked around at the quiet road. “Well, now that you’re out of the mask, I don’t suppose we need to go see my old friend any more. Is there anywhere specific you would like to go?”

The Fierce Deity gave you a soft smile. “Anywhere. So long as you’re there.”

Your heart swelled as he spoke, your hand gently gripping onto his. “You mean that? You still want me along even though you’re free?”

“What’s freedom if I have no one to share it with?” He asked, gently taking your hand in his.

You smiled up at him, practically beaming as you kissed his cheek.

“I suppose you’re right. Let’s go. Together!”

Theory: Merlin's Recent Publicity and its Correlation to a Possible Sequel/Revival/Reboot (+Eoin Macken's Pseudo Merlin Project)

'Ello. Fancied sharing my thoughts on recent developments regarding BBC's Merlin.

Fair, firm warning: I'm only sharing speculations and my personal opinions on the matter, and I do not advertise them as fact whatsoever. Consider them musings (or delusions, your choice). You can use this to further fuel your hope of the slim chance that this beloved show will see the light of day once again or maybe make theories of your own. Dispelling it is also an option, as I cannot assure my arguments would be free from flaws.

Right. Without further ado...

Revival of the Official Merlin Twitter Account

Let's put this into scenario.

Imagine a dated piece of media, previously well-known worldwide and had its own golden age for a time. This media launched the last of its contents over a decade ago, yet it gained a loyal, devoted following that persisted to grow and continued the legacy of the franchise over the years. Though there were highs and lows, the community remained alive for an impressive amount of time, steadily producing art, fiction, and creations dedicated to the media, despite not having anything new to work with. This devotion is acknowledged by those from an outsider's perspective, including the creators of this media (cast, staff, and distributors alike).

To put into context, the community was left unsatisfied with how the media ended, and many wished for the media to return. Articles were written, petitions were signed, comments left on the cast' social media accounts, and even questions were asked directly to them. Although different in wording, the inquired notion remained the same: Will there be a possibility of a sequel/revival/return/reboot? The answers range from a neutral, vague reply to a more resounding no.

This cycle persisted, but the people were immovable; they were visionaries and their dream lived on in their hearts. And this did not go unnoticed.

So it continued... until one of the media's social accounts made a sudden return. Out of nowhere, without a warning. They're back for good, the account announced. It sent the community into a frenzy. But if you took a step back from the excitement, you'd notice that it's strange. Why would a media ended over a decade ago suddenly be promoted again?

Now, I'm going to explore two possibilities; pragmatic and idealistic. The previous hypothetical scenario lays the general principal of Merlin's relevance (duh).

I'll make the pragmatic perspective brief. FremantleMedia saw the opportunity to make some bucks from Merlin because of the loyal fanbase, using a no-cost yet effective method to keep us tuned in; hoping. OMG, what does this mean? Does this mean they're going make a sequel?! Holy shit, they're teasing us, aren't they? I can't believe this is happening, it's a dream come true! And so on and so forth. Evidently, it works and numbers are growing. The official Merlin twitter account is racking up more followers and likes with each post. In this possibility, there's no such thing as a sequel/whatever it is the fanbase hopes for; just a reanimated corpse doing the same silly tap dance while we holler at it, dumbly hoping that they bust out new moves.

Now, the fun part. The idealistic version!

I'm going to use a real life example for my theory: the upcoming release of Dragon's Dogma 2. With a quick Google search, you can learn that Dragon's Dogma 2 is the highly awaited sequel for its well-liked predecessor, Dragon's Dogma.

For some time, Dragon's Dogma was on sale on Steam (with a decent cut too). This was done to gain the attention of...

1. those who haven't previously dived into the franchise. It's to make them think 'Wow! This game's so good. Oh, there's a sequel of it that's gonna be released soon? With even better graphics and gameplay? Sign me the fuck up!'. You liked Blueberry Cheesecake, so it'd make sense that you'd be more open to buying Double Blueberry Cheesecake, Premium Ingredients Addition, with 2 additional paid toppings.

2. Veterans and nostalgic fans. 'They're promoting the game I liked years ago... Oh, well, it won't hurt to play it again, just for the nostalgia. It never really left my mind anyway."

In other words: hype! hype! hype!

If using this principle, then the possibility of a sequel/revival/reboot/new content exists. It's either being processed (wishful thinking, not as likely) or being considered (more likely). If it's the latter, then they're testing the waters to see how much people still care/how much money they'll make. The more attention and hype it gets, the higher the likelihood.

Simplified:

P (old media pushed for publicity) -> Q (hype built)

Q (hype built) -> R (new content)

Eoin Macken's Pseudo Merlin Project

If I recall correctly, Eoin Macken first announced a pseudo Merlin project in late 2020. It's first teased to be released in 2021, but nothing came out of it so far (at the time of writing this) except if you count the small handful of times Macken hinted it over the ongoing four year period.

Now, I understand his position. First and foremost, he needs the legal rights to actually produce anything and it's no easy feat when you're dealing with a massive company. Then there's the issue of costumes, props, sets, and equipment. A lot to consider. To put it simply, he must offer the company something worth more than the show itself or contribute in their favor in some way. Macken seems like a charming and capable guy, so he can make it work. Probably.

I lean towards the spin-off theory because a cast reunion would not take four years. As far as I know, Macken is close with the knights and they could get together at any convenient time. If the project was a zoom call or a recorded get-together, it would've been released already. To compare, by using the average of 385,000 babies born each day during the last three years, we have 421,575,000 newborns before the Pseudo Merlin Project.

I want to tie this in with the previous theory, but eh. It can connect, but not really. I don't have any further explanation or evidence since Macken hasn't given any news.

Anyways. That's enough of this. I hope it made sense, at least it did to me. I'm entering my third year in the fandom, so I'm relatively new and still hopeful. (Though I try hard to keep my feet on the ground while I stare up at the clouds.)

You hiss, "Sure I like her. After all, who wouldn't hit the roof with joy if another woman made such an open pass at their boyfriend, and probably still negotiated to fuck said boyfriend? Sure, it's a dream come true for anyone."

Rick's grin only widens, and you stomp over to him as you hear the gate open.

Annoyed, you hiss beside him, "It was enough for me that Negan made a pass at you. But I'd like to spit in that woman's face."

Rick laughs raucously and goosebumps cover your entire body. This man is so fucking attractive and sometimes it pisses you off.

It's not that you don't trust Rick, but you don't trust Jadis, and unfortunately, you're also insecure as fuck.

The fear that Rick might break your heart this way is omnipresent and even when he puts his arm around you and whispers, "Relax. You know I only want you." You can't relax.

You bite your tongue right now to keep from muttering, "And Jadis only wants you."

You need Jadis and her people and maybe it's not even that bad that she wants something from your boyfriend if it will get you somewhere, but when she walks up to you and doesn't even dignify you with a glance and instead undresses the man next to you with her eyes, you almost throw up.

When it's over today, you know full well that Rick is going to tease you about it, but you still put your hand possessively on his chest.

You stab Jadis with your gaze as she and Rick talk about the plan. 

Holy shit, she's pretty and strong. Just the kind of thing Rick likes.

Your fingers dig into his torso and Rick presses you harder against his side. He knows it's nothing personal and you're just scared. Fear that he would like to take away from you, but he doesn't know how.

Silence falls for a moment and only now does Jadis look directly at you, "Yours?"

She nods in Rick's direction, who frowns at the question, but before he can intervene, your hand slides to his belt, where you slip your fingers through the belt loops and answer loudly with your chin up, "Rick's mine."

Surprised that you would lay claim to him so directly, he stares at you. 

You've always been a strong and indomitable woman, but right now you're ready to cut this woman's hands off should she so much as touch Rick with the tip of her pinky finger.

Unimpressed, Jadis shrugs, "I'll lay with him."

You wouldn't believe what she just let out. 

Even Rick is too irritated to answer directly, and you tear yourself away from him to stand in front of him and glare at Jadis.

Fucking hell, the woman is so tall that you have to look up at her from below, and that bothers you immensely. 

But instead of backing away, you take another step toward her and hiss, "Rick. Is. Mine." You spit each word at her feet and then put your hands on your hips, "If you so much as touch him. Shit, if you even just look at him like you could have him, he's for sure, the last thing you'll see."

You don't care that everyone is staring at you now, "I'm the one getting fucked by him and I swear to you, I'll be the only and last one. So squeeze your legs together and fulfill your end of the bargain."

There might be something like respect flashing in her eyes, but you can't quite tell because Rick grabs you by the waist from behind and pulls you against his body.

Your feet dangle in the air and you hiss, "Let go of me."

But instead he calls out to Michonne and says to Jadis, "You two can discuss everything."

Struggling, you try to wriggle out of his arms as he turns and carries you away from Jadis.

With tears in your eyes, you whine, "Rick! This is degrading! Put me down!"

His warm body is comfortable against your back and even his strong arms around your waist do good, but you know that having him carry you around like a doll doesn't exactly support your point of view.

Unfortunately for you, he can and does carry you like a doll, and there's little you can do about it as he sets you down in front of a wall not far from the others and you immediately whirl around to him, "Why did you do that?"

You have to look up at him, too, but with him it doesn't bother you at all. You even like the size difference.

However, right now this ensures that he can completely shield you from the others and you no longer have Jadis in view.

Rick positions himself in front of you in such a way that you press your breasts against his body every time you take a breath, and because he's propped up against the wall behind you to the left and right of your head, you're as if trapped in a cage. 

Granted, it's a pretty nice cage, but still you're FORCED to stay put as he mutters, "You would have gone for her throat and in the end you would regret it because we need her. Her and her people."

He's lowered his head a bit and looks at you languidly as you shrug, "I regret not doing it already. Damn, she wanted to fuck you and she just says it to my face. That fucking who-" Quickly Rick puts his lips on yours to interrupt your words.

Sighing, you drop your head against the wall and mutter, "I know."

Slowly but steadily, his nearness and his lips on your neck soothe you. 

The anger coupled with fear slowly fades into the background and as his beard scrapes your neck and his tongue runs along your pulse, you breathe softly, "We should go back."

But you don't budge a bit and he only lift his head briefly to get to the other side of your neck.

Switching sides, you catch a glimpse over his shoulder and can see Jadi's eyes fixed firmly on you as Michonne talks to her.

Without taking your eyes off her, you lift a hand to Rick's curls and he hums in satisfaction as you press his head tighter against your neck and gasp softly. 

So much for 'we should get back’.

From Rick's body and feeling like you have something to prove, you slide your other hand between you and reach for Rick's belt.

His objection is a weak, "Don't."

But he doesn't stop you either as you undo the belt and pull it out of the loops in an exaggerated manner. 

Rick barely catches how you continue to stare at Jadis and stick your arm out to the side, letting it fall to the floor in front of her.

You don't care that you're using Rick to make a point and what it would mean for the deal with Jadis. 

But Rick was never part of the deal and doesn't seem to mind you shoving your hand down his pants. 

Quite the opposite, in fact. 

He presses his hips harder against your hand as you gently cup his semi-hard cock and he bites your shoulder.

"Darlin'," his voice is rough and deeper than usual, and you feel his whole body tense. Not in the uncomfortable way he did when he bowed to Negan or when he had a tough decision to make.

okay okay so here’s the concept: davey and jack are childhood best friends who have always planned to go on a road trip during the summer after the leave the high school. davey’s always planned on going to university while jack saves his way to santa fe – they’ve always shared these two dreams together and given each other hope that one day they might achieve them. unfortunately, in their final year of high school, they’ve both drifted into different circles; the 1960s saw an unprecedented rise in youth activism, specifically in civil rights and anti-war sentiment, as well as a rise of subculture, counterculture and drag culture. so davey gets more and more invested in activism and queer subculture, volunteering in activist groups, making a name for himself, but as he does so, jack feels more and more trapped where he is. everything’s changing, but not for him; the rug’s being pulled out from under him while he remains perfectly still, and all he can do is fall. so he lashes out more, bites at the hand that feeds him, focuses all his energy on getting out of new york for good. nothing else matters.

both of them are rebelling more and more in their senior year, but in opposite directions, and it’s led them quite far away from each other – not to the point where they’re no longer friends, but… they’re definitely no longer best friends. but still, they’ve been planning this for so long, it’d be such a dick move to cancel it (even though they’re both kind of wishing the other would) and if jack did cancel, then medda would definitely ask questions that he has no idea how to answer properly, and what if davey asked him about it, what’s he supposed to say? so he decides to just go along with it, one last hurrah to see them both off into these new phases in both of their lives. it’s only a week, it’s no big deal. at least they’re splitting gas money, right?

i’m envisioning a nice slow-burn of two friends-turned-strangers coming to terms with what they want. davey has always been expected to be the good kid, the one who makes it out, who goes to college the way his parents couldn’t, who sets an example for les, who gets it right. but god, having to get every aspect of his life right on the first try is so fucking exhausting, and davey needs to just let loose. and as jack discovers, davey has. he’s been doing a lot more than just volunteering, he’s living messy. he gets high, he gets violent, he fights tooth and nail for what’s right, and he’s so, so happy, and so, so ashamed of it. he’s building something for himself on a foundation made of sand, and davey knows it’s going to all shift and crumble eventually, it has to, but he can’t just stop. he can’t. and that makes jack so angry. because he’s been clinging to the ground as the earth shifts around him, as everything changes, trying to find his stability, a place where he can get it right, and davey’s just thrown that away for what? for a bunch of queers? but i think as the story progresses, jack realizes that the reason he’s so angry is because davey was that stability for him. he was the place where jack was able to think things through, be vulnerable, make sense of all the madness around him. and now davey’s changing, and jack doesn’t know who to be anymore. but i think in getting to know this new davey, he’d get to know himself, too.

With a swerve of the wheel and a screech of the tires, the truck lurches into a lay-by, sending Davey catapulting in his seat from the force of the breaks.

Loki S2 Pre-E6 Thoughts

So I know that this is totally random content to give to y'all this morning, but I wanted to post up my thoughts about the series before its final episode airs tomorrow. I have, in the past, talked about my thoughts on S1 and how I really did like it until the last 5 minutes of Episode 6 and how out-of-nowhere-forced the Sylvie/Loki kiss felt (I was physically cringing about it).

Given how S1 ended, I was a bit wary about S2, but decided to watch it anyway, and holy hell I think Season Two is KNOCKING it out of the park. I'm loving it as much as I loved Moon Knight, and it's right up there now in my top 5. The episodes are SO cinematically beautiful, well written and flow nicely, the characters are all so charming, and the Mobius/Loki relationship is being built up so much that it COULD lead to more or canonization in the final episode. During the past 5 weeks, I've been lurking on the meta spaces for Loki on Twitter and Tumblr, and wow the nostalgia I feel for it, it SO reminds me of the hey-day of my Johnlock meta-ing before S4.

I think my only gripe right now with this season is that they wasted Sophia DiMartino... her character Sylvie feels like such a... filler character (like they just put her in there because she was in the first season and they didn't know what to do with her this season)? But I think ALSO she's meant to be a counter-mirror to Loki, to show that he ISN'T like her anymore, that he grew and changed for the better with the positive influences in his life, and unlike her he doesn't WANT to be alone and such. And they're REALLY making her so unlikeable this season for me... I'm glad that it's looking like they're pretty much not going the Sylvie/Loki route (and I honestly don't see how people who ship it think it will canonically turn around at this point), but the showrunners are having her have every interaction between her and Loki rather hostile, demoralizing, or toxic. And rather that, they're countering it by showing a more positive alternative for Loki with Mobius as his potential romantic partner. Which is fantastic because I've shipped Lokius since Mobius came on the screen in S1, LOL. I just think they could have done that in S2 without making Sylvie an unlikeable character (like have her be a cheerleader for them instead?) I dunno. It's a shame because I did like her in S1. Don't like her at all in S2. She's so MEAN to EVERYONE. To Mobius especially, like CHILL girl, let a man stress-eat, JEEZ.

And here's the rant I actually wanted to write this post about because I didn't want to clutter up other people's threads with it: So, every week, I usually watch breakdowns and review videos so I can understand the characters and their comic counter parts a bit better, and usually the breakdowns are really good because they show the nods to comic-canon things and such. But OMG these past two weeks, I had to stop watching the reviews because LITERALLY all of them ship Sylvie/Loki and are trying SO hard to prove that it's canon when the past few weeks it's only been more and more likely that it's not happening.

NONE of Big Name Reviewers (NRS and SC specifically, if ya know you know) acknowledged AT ALL the RIDICULOUS amount of romantic tropes and dopey staring that Episodes 4 and 5 had (Loki watches Mobius through a window the first time he finds him, and the second time before going to talk to Mobius again Loki LITERALLY groomed himself and then stutters like a lovesick teenager. It was very rom-com; and they're skirting around the fact that all the empty places in the TVA that Loki kept slipping to were ALL places that Loki tshared time with Mobius in... I CAN GO ON FOREVER HERE, AND AND AND that Loki is constantly panicking if he can't find Mobius). LIKE. NONE OF THE REVIEWERS, who literally break down all the episodes and point out shit like All That for het-ships, just won't acknowledge any of it!! They glossed over both Loki's and Sylvie's bisexuality confirmations in S1, and only briefly mentioned their genderfluidity in the comics and in actual mythology. I usually watch the breakdowns because I'm not familiar with comic lore so I find it interesting to learn about those backstories, as well as little details they find, but they've been dropping the ball ALL season, and EVERY one of them mention EVERY single breakdown that Loki just wants to get back to "his one true love Sylvie!!", like what are you smoking?!?!? I was getting SO FRUSTRATED because they skipped over LARGE chunks of E5, especially, just pointing out the surface level stuff instead. I literally turned it off after all that.

THAT ALL SAID, since episode one it's been clear that Sylvie wants NOTHING to do with Loki – she just wants to live a quiet simple life. Then when shit goes bad, she blames Loki for all the problems SHE caused, shits on Mobius every chance she gets, and then in that bar scene when Loki's bearing his soul to her, telling her that he wants his friends back and DOESN'T want to be alone, she basically is like "tough titties" and leaves him ALONE, showing she's not a friend at all.

But the reviewers literally just gloss over all of this. ANYWAY.

Ugh, sorry about that, that's been eating at me for like 3 weeks and last week's reviews finally just pissed me off so much because even casually watching the show I could see all this shit. I only REALLY started believing Lokius could happen after Episode 4 aired, and then Episode 5 had me reeling.

I am DYING to write meta about every episode as it comes out... I just feel that other people are writing better stuff than I could, and much faster than I have time for, and really it's nice to be on the reader side of things for a change. I just... don't want to add in my own two cents to their posts because I'd feel I'm intruding, is all.

I have lots of hope about where Episode 6 will go... like I'm feeling pretty good about them canonizing Lokius... However... I'm not gonna be disappointed if it doesn't get canonized simply because this is Disney and I am REALLY not thinking they're going to explore Loki's comic-canon genderfluidity and sexuality on a surface level.

Good thing I eat subtext for breakfast LOL. I lived through BBC Sherlock, hahah. BUT... can I get a third ship canonized in one year??? Is it wishful thinking? Oh, for sure. I hope so. I would be so happy if Disney even ACKNOWLEDGED that they love each other But I'm not expecting it. I'll be happy with another hug at least, or a forehead touch or hand holding. I'm a simple gal.

Honestly though, I do inevitably want the last episode to have Loki as the ruler with his friends, because they built up to this for 12 episodes, I DON'T want an unhappy ending for the sake of a twist or whatever. Truly let him be the Loki Who Remains (a callback to Episode One) as the Keeper of Time with Bea, O.B., Casey, and Mobius at his side <3

I LOVE the character development of Loki in this series, too. I legit didn't really care for Loki all that much in the MCU, but this series did the same to him for me that FatWS did to Bucky for me: Make me want to see MORE of them and their adventures with their new friends.

And android!Rollo omg!!!!! GloMas gives me many inspirations and all of them are about Rollo. I love him a lot.
