so many people have brilliant things to say about little details in shows, the meaning behind an artistic decision, the symbolism of flowers, hard-to-translate language concepts, things that really add to your understanding of a work
I can't do any of that
all I can offer you is that this skeleton doesn't have enough ribs
but they did get the handedness of their DNA correct (sooo much art has it twisting the wrong direction)
this means nothing, enjoy ❤️

this is going to be pure word vomit, but wow. okafor being as important to the entire story of the ones who live despite dying in the first episode was insane and incredible writing. the parallel between him and rick coming full circle at the end, with rick remembering the last thing okafor said before dying and not letting beale manipulate him at the echelon meeting. okafor retroactively being revealed to have never "died" as rick never really did, deep down, because he warned rick about the sword. the ONLY time he snapped was when rick insisted he had nothing, because he didn't have nothing. he always kept his wife's sacrifice in mind, just as rick always kept michonne in mind, even after he chose to "die," because he did this not being able to escape, but he could at least still build a better future for michonne and their children. rick switching sides, just like okafor did, and destroying the CRM's army to save everyone else. the story about rick's father and the burning crops...and okafor being someone who was someone who was researching and growing crops, whereas beale was stealing resources from other communities and destroying them. like okafor knew the CRM had to be destroyed so something new could grow, and he genuinely had a plan to do that and saw a future where more could grow, but beale only ever saw destruction in the future and used violence so that his own community could grow. beale telling rick that both the walkers and them are dead, whereas okafor told rick that all people are his people, everyone alive. beale had spies in other communities to help keep him informed and to help destroy those communities, whereas okafor trusted rick and told him the truth plainly, despite this going against beale's aims and potentially endangering his life, and rick finding his strength in trusting michonne, and lack of trust being what undoes thorne and jadis.
i'm just. wow. donald okafor the perfect morally grey character that you are ....

noone hates moffat more than me but i do always want to enjoy his contributions to the show coz i LIKE liking things i really wish i liked his era too it's just that he really fucking sucks. but i like most of his standalone eps in rtd eras this one included it's just insanely annoying how much of his episodes is just. thing he's done like 5 times before. but like i have love in my heart this was a good episode it just kept pissing me off any time there was a needless reference to something moffat did that he thinks is so cool

The ground creaked, a horrible, grating noise rattling through the air as something pulled its way out of the water, something massive, nearly half a dozen times her size. It smelled like a corpse – a bug’s corpse that had been left to decay for days, or weeks, where spores had settled deep enough that fungi were starting to sprout from their shell, ant and beetle and a horrible mishmash of species she didn’t know.
It wasn’t shaped like any kind of macrovolute she knew, and it definitely didn’t move like one, slowly and steadily pulling itself along with four limbs and dragging a massive abdomen that bent like it lacked a shell entirely. It spread wings soddened with water that clung to its body like a slow-flowing solid and looked down on her, nearly five times her size, something oozing from its abdomen as it spoke, a horrific tangle of moth and ant and beetle and something else, twisted and distorted as if mimicked by a fungal console.

Ok game time which 3 series would you just DIE to get a run on ? I'm talking full creative control, can be as a writer or an artist + plotter if that suits your vibe best
My 3 are
Suicide Squad
Wonder Woman
Green Lantern Corps/Green Lanterns
(in that order)

squints, looks around.
It would appear some merch options have come and I need some opinions
1 - I can put buttons into the packages with the keychain and stickers, as I planned originally
2 - To make up for the over 30 people interested in buying something, I can put the money meant for buttons towards another keychain design instead. Which would be sold separately
Option 1 would just mean one listing to buy when the shop drops, the package deal with keychain + stickers + buttons, only 30 available
With option 2, when the shop drops there would be 2 listings to buy, The Poptart keychain + stickers deal, and a standalone keychain (probably that sprout design).

me, gearing up to explain why the dragon prince's latest seasons have continued to disappoint me, that while i love the lore and worldbuilding and characters there are clear pacing issues that are so jarring it takes me out of the experience, and that i say all of this with great love for the series but there's only so much good concepts can do before animation has to catch up in order to retain the average viewer's attention. that although season 4 and 5 have been branded as "the mystery of aaravos" the titular character barely appears and that is a crime to me, that even if it's for the suspense and intentionally leaving the viewer/main characters in the dark it's not doing a good job at building up his character and i fear for the exposition dump that will inevitably happen later on. that i will be harsh in critiquing this series because i love it so much and want it to be the best it can be: *inhales*
also me the moment i actually finished the goddamn season:

Not me waking up to a dozen messages from a friend because apparently Rika is now in the Ssum too???
I feel like they are putting in more and more mm content but uh- 😭
She is so pretty I can't even lie to ya'll... And she's smiling.... Alas, I am a creature of weakness, not strength, and smiling Rika just happens to be one of those weaknesses.
Now, I have zero context for this, but I will pretend everything's fine and happy here :) Look at her with her cute hat! I am swooning despite all my reservations

i unintentionally did the “poem of the year” challenge in which i memorised 15 poems for my exams and i loved analysing and to this day, i think about “kamikaze” by beatrice garland and “paradise lost” by milton and “poppies” by weir.
all the best of luck for this challenge, cianna <3333
do you have the links to these poems anon?? i'd love to look at them and potentially memorize them for myself!!
