I'm not worried that much about the Ilium musical ruining people's perceptions and understanding of the Trojan War because... guys I THINK WERE A BIT TOO LATE for this argument lmao fucking whole ass blockbuster Hollywood movies woobifying Paris and helen. We already have a musical on the Trojan War with PARIS the musical (its pretty good) like its true probably gonna get people on tumblr shipping Achilles with Scamander or something. that's probably gonna be the only big change. Lovestruck (Helen of Troy)💃🏻🌊💘👑

This is based on the myth of Helen of Troy but named ‘Lovestruck’ to focus on the devastating impact of Eros/Cupid’s arrow. It features her in Mycenaean dress being struck by the arrow, with hearts flying out from the bolt’s exit like 🩸. In the background ships race towards the same direction as her propulsion from the force of the strike.

I wanted to create something colourful and whimsical where I could completely focus on the illustration. Subsequently I’ve gone for an illustration more based in aesthetics and symbolism than my usual “historically accurate/canon” pieces.
