you've never been a rock fan. sure, you'd enjoy listening to the songs your dad played on your 3 hour long car rides, the ones he always sets as his ring-tone...
but you were in a dilemma nowㅡ there's a giveaway of sorts with tickets to your dad's most favorite band from the early 90's, and to even have a chance at those tickets you need to submit a video of yourself singing one of their songs.
now you would ask your dad, but the first thing that made you this set on getting those tickets was surprising him with them on his upcoming birthday. you'd buy them, but they're either sold out or 200 bucks on shady sitesㅡ and you're a broke college student on winter break.
you sigh, closing your laptop and throwing it on the other side of the bed. you stare up at the ceiling, counting the little neon stars you've had there since you were 10. they always calmed youㅡ made your brain less foggy, even for just a few seconds.
groaning, you throw your legs around, frustrated and disappointed in yourself. this would've really made his worries slip away, for a bit, after what happened with your mom. you still can't wrap your head around why your mom chose her exceeding in nothing, 2 palms of receding hairline co-worker. i mean, he was richㅡ super fucking rich, but was it worth it? your dad didn't deserve it.
you wipe the tears you've just now realized were dripping down your face. "i need something to drink." sniffling, you put on your plush jacket, get some slippers , and spray on some perfume. "at least need to smell presentable if i look likeㅡ" you stare into the mirror, laughing to yourself, "that."
you stroll out of your house and down the street. you were lucky for the grocery store just about 7 minutes away, give or take. it wasn't that small but it wasn't big either, at least not big enough so that you learned form a young age where all of your favorite iles were.
"Hi, Miss Sammy!" you greet the cashier, an old friend of the family and sort of an aunt to youㅡ you remember when she'd let you stay after school in the back of the store up until 5 pm, when your dad came to pick you up. "Hi, honey! How's winter break treating you?"
"Rough day?" you jump, taking one step back before you turn around to see who it was.
"'s fine... I'm glad to be back home with dad." you smile and her gaze softened. "Well if you ever need anythin', you let me know sugar, mkay?" you nod, walking to the furthest part of the store, where all of the drinks were. you look around, trying to find the cheapest thing that can get you dizzy the fastest. really deep in your mind you failed to notice someone coming up to your side, breaking the silence.
"Yeah, you could say thaㅡ wait." you pause. holy shit. you couldn't believe your eyes. "I know you! You're thㅡ" he presses his fingers agains your lips, and oh, it sends a shiver down your back. "quiet down, darlin'."
you nod, whispers-yelling, "You're Joel Miller, right?" he sighs, smiling at your question, and your eyes light up. this is perfect, so, so perfect. "My dad loves you guysㅡ you and your band."
"that so?" your arms flare up, smiling so big. "you've no idea! 's why i was so excited to hear about you coming to town. Wanted to surprise him."
"wanted?" Joel quirks his eyebrows up, his voice dropping an octave. "Yeah, well, i found out pretty late about it and - well, tickets, they're super expensive now, as you'd imagine.." You sigh, turning back to look at the bottles catching the white light of the room. "jus' wanted to give him something to be happy about, you know?" You reach out to grab a 16$ bottle of wine you know is too sweet, but it'll do. trying to lift the mood, you try your hand at a joke. "guess my only option is to fuck somebody who has those tickets." you look at him and his brows are furrowed. stupid, stupid, stupid joke, stupid you.
"so-rry, didn't mean toㅡ"
"that so, pretty girl?" Those words go straight to your core, causing you to nip at your bottom lip, stiff like a stone. "Now, you can't just say somethin' like thatㅡ" Joel leans in closer "'n not answer me."
you look up at him, and you finally get a better look. there aren't many pictures of him close up on the internet, mostly grainy ones where you can barely make out his tattoos. you gulp, eyes traveling across his face: a brow piercing, a full beard with patches of gray, a neck tattoo with a ravenㅡ he looked surreal.
"y'gonna answer me, angel-face? or do i need to pull out those words myself?" god, you were practically dripping on the linoleum of the store, cheeks ablaze and words tangled in your throat.
"I'm ㅡ" he traces his inked fingers across the exposed part of your neck, chuckling at your demeanor. "I live 5 minutes away." you blurt out, causing his eyes to widen. "maybeㅡ come over?" god, what were you doing? you sure hope not to regret your words later. but right now, two things you knew for certain: you were way too turned on, and he was way too hot for his age.
Joel smirks, his fingers lingering on your skin. "Well, darlin', seems like fate's on your side today." He grabs the bottle of wine you were holding, examining it. "I ain't lettin' you drink that, girl." he scoffs, picking up a bottle of Giulio Ferrari from 1992, not even looking at the price. "Let me spoil you a bit, yeah." you can't even say a word, you pathetically whine, as your knees wobble like jelly.
Joel puts the hoodie over his head and looks down at you, his firey stare making your cheeks burn up all over again. "y'know the lady?" he asks, motioning his head towards Sammy who was busy playing Rummy on her phone. "I do, old familyㅡ well, like family." He nods, patting your shoulder, "you go ahead, wait f'me in front of the store by that coffee machine. I'mma pay real quick, yeah?" you nod so fast, way too excited with those butterflies tying knots in your stomach, you head to the door.
"Bye, Miss Sammy!" you wave, and she just hums and gives half of a wave back "buh-bye, sugar." too fixed on her phone. As Joel pays for the bottle of wine, he glances back at you exiting the store.
"Lead the way, darlin'. Let's see if we can work something out." and oh, the way those words make you drip in anticipation. the way you were so eager to have his hands all over your body- those tickets were the last thing on your mind right now. You both head towards your house, the cold air adding a sense of urgency to the situation. You couldn't believe how needy he made you with just a few words. Small talk fills the short journey, with Joel sharing stories from the road and you nervously responding.
Once inside your home, Joel looks around appreciatively. "Cozy place you got here." you nod, leading him to the kitchen. "your daddy home?"
"no.." you fumble your steps as you hurriedly put two glasses on the counter for Joel to fill up with wine. Joel smirks, sensing the tension in the air. "Just us, then," he says, pouring the wine into the glasses. The rich aroma of the aged wine fills the room as he hands you a glass. "Cheers to unexpected encounters," he toasts, clinking glasses with you. The wine is exquisite, but the real intoxication is the electrifying presence of Joel. Tattoos adorned his body, his fluffy hair laid perfectly, strands of gray standing out; the way his muscles bulged through his shirtㅡ you could see it all better now.
"feels like you're about to eat me, baby. way you're starin' me down." joel chuckles. "sorry I'mㅡ sorry." you nervously sip from you glass trying to put out the fire in your core, his voice making it ten times harder for you. "now, how you gonna get what you want if you get so shy on me, hm?"
joel steps closer to you, and your chest burns, heaving up and down as his arms snake around your waist and settle onto your tummy. "ain't you a big girl? thought you were- how you so eagerly invited a stranger ㅡsuch an old man into your home when your daddy ain't around." he rubs through you, a squeaky whimper slipping past your lips as you felt his bulge against you. "oh, she likes that, don't she?" you breathe out "god.."
"please..." you plead, palms now on top of his as you slowly turn your head to expose your neck further. "please what, babygirl?"
"not god, baby..jus' me." he chuckles murkily.
"please, sir..t-touch me." you back your body further, prompting joel to groan and tighten his grasp on you. "jesus, girl." he laughs "dirty little thing." his rough hands make their way under your lace trimmed long-sleeve, grasping at you breasts.
"no bra, baby?" he asks, swirling his thumbs across your sprung up nipples, and you moan a quiet 'no'. "what if your daddy walks through that door right now, huh?"
"dont care..." you lean more into his touch, intoxicated from it and his scent, a hint of smoky wood, and a touch of muskㅡ he smelled delicious. you couldn't wait to have him on your tongue.
"'course you don't. needy little whore wants an old man to fuck her senselessㅡ need me to fill ya up with this cock til you're dumb and can't think no more." you moan, so eagerly shaking your head as you press your ass onto his hard-on, getting joel to wrap his thick fingers around your throat and spin you around to face him. "not so fast, girl. wanna see ya beg, can you do that f'me angel?" his graps grow rougher, and you mewl out a string of yes, yes, yes, whilst dropping to your knees, as he instructs
"eyes up, babyㅡ there she is." joel strokes your face before delivering a harsh slap onto your already red cheek. moaning, you rub your thighs together as to evade just a bit of pressure in your cunt. "pretty little slut. so pretty like this." he growls, taking a handful of your hair "go on now. beg. tell sir how bad you need his cock."
and you do. you beg and plead, press your face against his thigh like a little puppy. you don't take you eyes off of his, prompting yourself with his boot under your clothed cunt. "please, sir.. v'been so good..." and you start moving slowly, cheek now flush against his crotch. you moan and rut against him, heat washing over your whole body. you wanted to make him proud, you dont know what came over youㅡ you were so drunken and you didn't know if it was because of the wine or because of joel.
the way he stared down at you, his pupils almost like an eclipse to his hazel eyes, lips half hidden behind his mustache. The way his piercing gaze holds yours, unwavering and commanding; he was rough and enticing, mean in just the right wayㅡ his voice dripped like honey and you couldn't hold but lick it up and let it poison you through and through.
"atta girl." you looked so vulnerable. so innocent. so raw and ready for him to taint and infect you with his all. he unbuckled his pants, leaving them a bit open at the top, perfectly for you to see the strain his thick cock put onto his briefs. "c'mon. don't make me wait, baby..." you didn't need to hear more, eagerly pulling out his erect length, letting it slap onto his clothed belly. you could drool at the sight, all though you're pretty sure you already were. he was bigㅡ huge even, the biggest you've ever seen. it was girthy and had veins running down it, tip red, dripping with precum. "too b-big-" you manage to let out. "you'll make it fit, puppy. for me, yeah? c'mon, let me fuck that pretty mouth." and you softly reply with 'yes, sir' before he yanks at your hair and directs his dick right between your lips. "open. widee openㅡ there you go." he encourages you as you try your best to fit that monster into your mouth. it hurts and your chin stings as joel slowly stars to thrust his length into you mouth- or at list what fits of it.
"pretty slut. look so good with her mouth full of cock." joel hums as you whine around him. "like this cock, baby?" he knows you can't answer, mouth too full and brain to fuzzy. "so cock stupid, can't even speak." he laughs. you've never felt like this, god, not even imagined something like this. yet there you were with someone who's twice your age fucking your mouth. "what would your daddy say?" you whine and squeeze around nothing, nails digging into the back of his knees. joel can only laugh as he puls out, rubbing his tip over your lips to collect the drool that mixed with his precum, and smear it all over your rosy cheeks.
you felt so dirty. but it felt rightㅡ for a good cause, right?
he slaps your face with his length before pulling you up by your hair, bending you over the kitchen counter. "gonna let me fuck you, babygirl?"
"yes-" you wriggle into his hold. "yes, what?" hes prying "yes, sir." you obediently reply. "good fuckin' pup." he doesn't even haltㅡ joel pulls down your pants at once with your panties. he delivers a harsh slap before trailing his digits right between your legs. "poor lil' cunt. look at 'er." he coos. "crying for this cock."
"please, sirㅡ mmhg.." whining, you try to rub yourself onto his fingers, but he quickly slaps you again, this time on the side of your thigh. "don't be a greedy bitch. you take what i give you, understand?"
"y-yes, sir, pleaseㅡ" he clicks his tongue before kneeling, spreading your pussy lips as he does, leaning in and blowing onto your sensitive clit. you jump and moan in frustration. "i know, baby, i know." he spreads your legs further, finally landing a soft and teasing lick between your folds. it doesn't take long for joel to go at it, sucking and licking at your cunt like theres no tomorrow, your desperate pleads to come only fueling him. "not yet, angel-baby." he gorans, picking himself up. "want you to come 'round my cock. want you to come while i stuff you up nice 'n good." you nod, not even half sure what you heard, you were too dizzy and the sudden lack of stimulation drove you mad.
joel positions himself behind you, lifting your leg up so one of your knees rests onto the counter. he teases your entrance with the tip of his cock, wanting to pull more from you, to get you even needful. you couldn't barely muster to hold yourself up, letting all of your weight on Joel, deprived pleads rolling of your tongue.
when he's content with the teasing, he starts to ease into you. it's like you're awakened from a trance, fully aware of everything, and every fiber of your body. it all vibrates as a sting spreads through your body, and you squeeze around Joel. "fuckkㅡ so fuckin' tight, baby- I'd think were a virgin if i didn't know what a cock slut you actually are." he laughs somberly before plunging straight into you. your tongue luls out, tears on the brink of your eyes as you cand only squeal out pathetic moans and incoherent blathers. "shitㅡ ! squeezing me so good, baby"
and he goes at you, diving deeper and deeper with each hit of his hips, one palm holding your leg up and one pressing you face flush on the cold surface of the counter. "like that? like it when an old man has his way with ya, huh?" you can't hear him, you barely make out his words; your eyes roll back and spine arched as he plummets into your cunt. "fucked you stupid, huh? dirty girl." joel snickers, feeling your walls squeeze around him as he takes one of your palms and places it right on top of your belly. "feel." and, fuck, you feel. his cock reaches so far into you it bulges through your pelvis; you feel it and you're jelly all over again.
he takes both his arms and hold you by your shoulders, hit after hit after hit sending you deeper into oblivionㅡ and you can only moan and cry as you feel your orgasm approaching. desperately, you clench around his cock, sending joel into a frenzy. "wanna come, pup? tell me." he's stern and rough with his request. "hhhaㅡ y-yes, plea-se..." you don't know if you're crying because you feel too good or because of how desperately you need to come.
"come then, make me proud, baby." you writhe as the knots in your core begin to untie, shaking under joel whilst it hits you like a wave of warmth and frost at once. it doesn't take long for him to reach his limit, digging his nails through your thighs, gritting his teeth as he leaves bruises onto you, you wish would never go away.
"need'a come babyㅡ shit! where, tell me where baby." you feel him so deep, you're drunk on him, vision blurry and mind fogged up. you usually don't say this. "in-side- inside, sir, please.." you beg, and you don't wait more than two more seconds as joel spills his warm seed into you, causing you to lick your lips as if you could taste it. Joel holds himself over you, panting as he trails soft kisses onto your back. "did so good, babygirl." you smile stupidly, rolling your hips against his.
"soㅡ" he makes a pause. "you still want those tickets?"

"My heart belongs to you alone..."
TW: insecurities, jealousy, reader has trust issues, make-up sex, dom!bi han, praise, v!sex, ftm reader, rough sex, smut, little angst, afab anatomy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⸺ Your insecurity was never new to him, however, Bi Han didn't really understand why you doubted his conduct and fidelity, but he was an understanding man, who loved you and understood that certain aspects would have to be worked on in your core - From past relationships, he was proud of you and even if he didn't say it verbally, his heart cried out for every piece of you... However, not even the cyromancer's solid passion and love stopped you from feeling hurt and insecure again.
Your jealousy and doubts were so visible that it even hurt, especially when you saw several people - new ninja recruits - trying to flirt with the grandmaster, you tried to control yourself, tried to control that underlying sadness that was trying to climb back into your mind and dope your senses...
But it was too late, especially when I saw some of them whispering about how much they wanted to sleep with their man. Bi Han wasn't stupid and he knew they were trying to flirt with him, he wanted to be a polite leader but that disgusted him, especially because he said several times that you were his partner, but it didn't help and it was too much for you to bear - when he realized you had already left for home which led him to cancel the rest of the training for the next day and go run after you, you were his number one priority.
⸺ Your body was lying on the bed, wrapped like a snail in several sheets, while the copious crying was audible, sub zero was a patient man... But at that moment, he knew that words wouldn't help enough, so he decided to act, act in the best way you could think of - taking the sheets off you with a quick movement, and forcing you to look deep into his eyes, "-Look at me." he ordered sternly, your eyes boring into his, seeking understanding.
"-Do you really believe that I would betray you like that?" His tone softened slightly. "-I chose you because you make me feel alive again. Because you bring light back to my dark world. Do you understand?" This time, he didn't even wait for a response from you, forcefully tearing any fabric that still prevented him from seeing your pretty pussy in his hungry eyes.
You babbled incoherent thoughts to him, letting your insecurities speak louder, which made Bi Han angry. With a violent movement of his hips, he buried himself completely inside you, moaning deeply as he did so - He gave you a light armbar on your neck - reaching down, he slapped your ass hard enough to make you scream before returning to his merciless pace.
Bi-Han grew in frustration, seeing you continue crying because you were insecure, but he held you in place, even if painfully, his cock throbbing against your cunt. "-You know that's not true baby boy...," he snarled, his free hand reaching between your legs to roughly rub your clit through - He began to thrust faster, harder than before, asserting his dominance over you both physically and emotionally.
His pace didn't slow down even as tears continued to trickle down your cheeks, staining the sheets beneath you. "-Listen to me boy." he commanded between heavy breaths. "-I choose you every fucking time. No matter what anyone else says or thinks, it doesn't change how I feel about you." His pace didn't falter, if anything, it intensified.
His hips bucked faster, harder, driving him deeper into your tight channel. Your moans turned into high-pitched whimpers, muffled by the hold on your throat. "-You are beautiful," he growled, his voice hoarse with need. "-Oh- So fucking beautiful... How could I change you? How could I leave you for someone else- You are my husband, goddamnit! And don't you dare forget it!" As he spoke, he began to thrust deeper and harder, pounding into you relentlessly.
The combination of pleasure and pain was overwhelming, causing new tears to well up in your eyes. But despite the carnal and mental pain, something inside you calmed down and you relaxed a little, as you looked directly into his eyes - He moaned deeply, leaning down to capture your lips in a messy kiss. "-That's a good boy... Cum, cum for me, my angel." Sub-zero groaned deeply, his cock twitching violently inside you as your orgasm washed over him - he followed suit seconds later, filling your pussy with hot cum.
His hips continued to rock back and forth for a few moments before he finally released his hold on your throat, allowing you to gasp for air - panting heavily, he turned to look at you, you both sweaty bodies intertwined in a mess of flesh and fluids. "-That was... intense," he managed between heavy breaths. "-But I think we both needed that... Never forget that I love you... never despise yourself again, I love you, I fucking love you."

i'm bored at work so here's an updated list of everything tommy kinard has ever said or done that makes him a bad person who hasn't changed/learned from his mistakes (even if he's not being inherently/explicitly racist anymore) (before you come at me for saying people can change, here's my previous pinned post from 7x05 that explains how he hasn't. i go into it more here about the back half of the season, but all of these points still stand)
season two
chimney begins
the first thing tommy says to/about chimney is "did you forget to tip the delivery driver?". if it wasn't for the fact that they had asian food delivered and chimney is asian, this could've been passed off, but instead they chose to have the first act of racism/general harassment be done by tommy, not the racist captain.
then when they return from a call and see chimney dutifully cleaning, tommy says to chimney: "you're still here?". not inherently racist, but still rude
we get some montages of chimney being left out/harrasef, and tommy is always at the forefront. it culminates in the locker room scene where tommy says "i don't think about you enough to hate you", which again isn't inherently racist but it is rude.
at the end, the only way chimney manages to earn a semblance of respect from tommy is by saving his life, which is fucked up. you shouldn't have to save someone's life to he treated with dignity. but fine, maybe tommy learned his lesson, right?
wrong
hen begins
at the beginning, tommy, chimney, gerrard, and a few others are standing up in the loft while hen walks in. gerrard says a few racist/sexist words, and chim stands up for her. tommy just stands there, not even looking like he might want to say something. not saying something when it happens is almost as bad as doing, and obviously chimney, who'd been there a shorter time, was brave enough to stand up for her.
then tommy, during a meal, tommy says about hen: "new york bitchiness is a compliment?". there's no non sexist explanation for this comment
actually that entire meal, he ignores chimney's attempts move the conversation away, which says a lot
again, general enabling of the racism and sexism
now, we don't know a whole lot about how hen and chimney interacted with tommy after the events of their begins episodes, but we do know they weren't close enough to keep in touch after. chimney loses touch for two years immediately after he leaves, and by season seven hen forgot that tommy worked at harbor. i don't know about you, but that doesn't seem like behavior for people who worked closely for ten years.
during hen's "see me" speech, tommy looks pissed off to be there, and then proceeds to look annoyed when he apologizes to her at the end of the episode (if you can even call it that)
post begins episodes
season seven
this episode was from buck's pov, so it's actually the time where tommy is the most tolerable. that doesn't mean he doesn't have his moments, though:
7x04
calling buck "kid" and "evan" is a weird way to introduce a love interest. tommy calling him "kid" shows that tommy is aware of the age difference, which as i explain here is at least the same as buck and abby's (and here why that screenshot of tim saying he's 40 is irrelevant). also, tommy calls buck "evan" with no on screen explanation, and we know that lou was explicitly told tommy isn't "allowed" to call him buck. you know the only other characters who aren't allowed to call him buck? his parents. that's all I'll say.
we don't really see much of tommy again until the basketball scene, and then it's focused on buck and eddie anyways, so the next time we see him and buck really interact is the loft scene (which is telling about who buck was trying to get the attention of, but that's a different conversation). in this scene, tommy makes a condescending remark about how "we weren't trying to make you feel left out" and "eddie can have more than one friend", which... again, brings us back to the age difference because it sounds like (in context) that tommy is reprimanding a child. having them kiss right after that was definitely an interesting choice (in terms of their relationship)
oh the date. i have so many feelings about this. we know that tommy knows buck isn't out, because buck told maddie they purposely picked an out of the way spot, and despite the face tommy made at the comment, he didn't seem surprised when buck told him it was his "first date with a dude" (it seemed more like a "i already know this, you don't have to repeat it" face). because of this, the way tommy acted when eddie showed up and freaked buck out has no excuse. the closet comment? even if tommy didn't know buck wasn't out and decided he didn't want to date someone who wasn't out, he shouldn't have made that comment knowing it could out buck to his best friend, who he clearly wasn't ready to tell. lucky for buck, eddie's an idiot (affectionate) with a one track mind (buck) and didn't register the comment.
7x05
then we have tommy leaving buck at the curb. leaving the date isn't the problem, it's the fact that he didn't tell buck until he got in the uber, which obviously upset buck (though he was admittedly more upset over lying to eddie). the rest of the episode is spent on buck coming out to eddie, and we don't see tommy again until buck is apologizing for the date, which... why should buck have to apologize for not being ready to come out? buck did nothing wrong on the date. if you just figured out you were queer and hadn't had the chance to tell your best friend before they accidentally crashed your date, you'd react the same way, don't try to tell me otherwise. it was tommy who should've apologized, plain and simple.
the bachelor party. tommy's excuse for not dressing up made no sense to me... he was obviously going to have to change anyways, so why not put in a little effort for your date? i see people saying that only eddie put effort in, but henren was dressed too, just more subtly. tommy chose not to dress up, and made a half hearted excuse of "they had henleys in the 80s" (which you would know, wouldn't you, 70s baby?)
7x06
we only see tommy during the medal ceremony, and he still manages to say something to piss me off. "enjoy it while it lasts" because he can't indulge his boyfriend for two seconds. it's becoming a pattern, i'm afraid
then we have tommy leaving, which fair he's on call, and we don't see him again until the hospital kiss. this is the only time we see tommy look remotely interested in buck the entire episode (every other time he has an rbf face, even when they're hugging).
7x09
7x10
the date scene was a weird way to end their s7 relationship. buck was opening up about his trauma, tried to find middle ground by saying "so we both have daddy issues" (nothing in the context made it seem sexual, in fact i didn't realize until tommy made the joke, so it's possible buck didn't either) and then tommy says "i don't" despite admitting that he did only a few seconds before. buck says with a slightly resigned (barely there, but still there) tone, "but you think i do" and tommy responds with "god i hope so". any other context and it would've been fine, but buck had just been talking ahout how his father figure literally died and came back to life. there's a post somewhere (pretty sure it was an ask someone sent me actually, if i can find it i'll link)that talks about how buck has a habit of going along with his love interests to avoid causing waves, and how that's exactly what buck was doing in 7x10, and it makes perfect sense. if buck had a problem with it, he wouldn't immediately say. he'd sit on it for weeks before even considering bringing it up (like natalia and death, and how he avoided taylor in s5). even if he wasn't uncomfortable, it doesn't take away from the fact that the timing was weird and buck wasn't in a good headspace to respond properly.
in conclusion
tommy is repeatedly a bad person. just because he hasn't said anything racist or sexist since season two, it doesn't negate this. you'll notice that almost all of his scenes are here, if not all. the writers have chosen to have him repeatedly look bad and like someone who only cares about himself (with the way he constantly tries to defend his actions by blaming gerrard, and how he only cares about his feelings about being out), but the bt stans are too excited at the prospect of two white men kissing (or just two men and they don't care who, thus dumping eddie, it depends on the bt) that they choose to look past it and hate on ryan/eddie instead.
these last three months in the fandom have felt so different compared to the rest. the fandom i knew pre s7 would never act this way. is it because lou is a nepo baby? i know it's not because of his looks. but either way, i'm disappointed, and hope s8 treats us (fans who actually care about the characters and don't actively want less for them) better
(if i missed anything, let me know and i'll edit the post to add it)

i’m so happy you’ve captured the audience you deserve with all the stories you’ve shared with us
you never let me down with anything. now, i don’t typically read sam wilson romantic fics (i love him platonically), but your midnight rain fic truly had my heart in pieces, i adored the way you wrote everything and the flash backs that tied it all together. solid 5 stars from me <3
now, as for a possible request / idea, i’m obsessed with a classic “who did this to you?” / “who did this” protective fic with bucky - or anyone really. romantic or platonic, it’s a favourite of mine and i’m sure that i’d love any way you wrote it – if you chose to write that, no pressure at all i just love you

this made me think of irrationally overprotective bucky barnes. the one who threatens men that stare at you a little too long. the one who wouldn't have a single qualm about killing someone for hurting you, even if you're perfectly capable of taking care of yourself.
you’re not together. it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks, you’re really not.
you’re just close. sometimes, a little too close.
but you're not together. no, you're definitely not together.
so after a long, exhausting, disaster of a mission, you're not thrilled to be sitting in the medbay with your team mates not so gently suggesting that you need to tell bucky.
"he's going to be pissed," sam warns.
"occupational hazard," you grunt, holding the ice pack to your throbbing temple. "he's just going to have to deal."
"so you don't deny that he's gonna be pissed?"
you roll your eyes, "no one likes when their friends get hurt."
sam shrugs, "friends, bed buddies, a couple, same shit, different font."
you groan at him, hissing as you accidentally put a little too much pressure on your temple, "don't you have to go annoy anyone else?"
sam looks down at his watch and hums, "not until 4."
there isn't a warning when bucky bursts through the door, rage rolling off of him in waves. his darkened eyes flash over to you.
"you know, on second thought, i did have that other thing to go do, so, uh, bye!"
bucky's chest heaves for a reason that has nothing to do him running down here. he stalks over to you, making no attempt to hide his eye raking over you head to toe.
"buck..." you sigh.
he stands before you, and without a word, he grips your chin, angling it to the side to see the full injury.
you suck in a sharp breath, you've never seen him this upset. his nostrils flare as he breaks his silence. "who did this to you?"
"bucky," you admonish. it wasn't even that bad. you took the butt of a rifle to the temple, leaving a nasty bruise and knocking you out momentarily. thankfully, sam was there to assist. it looked much worse than it felt.
he grips the back of your neck, his breath coming out in pants, "i want a name. now."
you rest your hand against his chest. you can feel his heart hammering against his ribcage, "it’s fine. mission’s over. it’s done."
"fuck no," bucky growls. "someone gave my girl -"
"your girl?" you rasp.
one hand still gripping the back of your neck, bucky's other vibranium hand comes to lift your chin to meet his gaze. your shiver has nother to do with the cool metal. bucky's breath skates across your gaped lips, "no one touches what’s mine."

If the only thing you can lord over buddie is that bucktommy is canon, then you really didn't care at all about the ship.
7 seasons of being a family unit, being there for each other, having each other's back but hey! Here comes another underdeveloped love interest, but since it's a man this time, you don't care about Buck being stuck in the same hamster wheel, again, because he's kissing a man and that's hot 🙄
Also for all your doom and gloom about buddie not happening, do remember that Tommy/Eddie was an idea in Tim's mind at first, so Eddie can be read as queer, even if it's not in canon yet.
I guess you don't place much value on them being a family unit and always there for each other, and having each other's back...all of which is still true and will continue to BE true. But it's only important to you as a prelude to them kissing, right? It has no value in and of itself. I love their relationship. I love what they are to each other. But YOU are making me not want to see it, because every time they turn to each other, lean on each other, support each other, we have to listen to you shrieking BUDDIE CANON CONFIRMED or whatever, because to a certain genre of shipper (not all buddie shippers, etc) any interaction or feeling they have with each other exists only in service to the ship.
I swear to god, I'm gonna banish the phrase "hamster wheel" from y'all's mouths until I get an actual definition as to what you think it means, because from where I sit, to you it just means "he's with someone who's not Eddie." To me, it means that Buck continually fell bass-ackwards into relationships that weren't right for him, looking for something he wasn't even sure what it was. And heyyyyy, he's currently in a relationship that he actively chose and fought for, having learned something new and important about himself, with someone who makes him giddy and excited in a way we have never seen him be, who the people around him can see gives him contentment. But none of that matters, because it's not Eddie, and that is by definition his only appropriate partner, so he must still be on that hamster wheel. Also if we're going by creator intent here, Tim's said he wrote this relationship specifically to reflect Buck being off of it.
As for underdeveloped love interest? I wrote an entire ass essay about how MUCH we know about Tommy, and it's reams compared to anything we've ever known about Buck's girlfriends OR Eddie's current girlfriend who does not even have a last name. Tommy has been introduced in a way that integrates him with the 118, with multiple interests, a character arc of his own from his first appearance, a set of motivations and emotional arcs that are NOT about Buck, and something to actually offer in a relationship besides existing. Anyone saying he's underdeveloped is determined to read him as such, especially for the limited amount of time we've had him.
And I never said Eddie couldn't be read as queer. He can EASILY be read as queer. I said he WOULDN'T be. Those are two different things. If Tommy and Eddie had gotten together (which I give no more narrative weight to than Maddie and Eddie getting together, which was also a gleam in the eye at one point) I'd equally be saying that Buck would never be queer.
It's hilarious to me that I'm being accused of liking a ship because it's hot (it is, and I do, and that's...fine? there's nothing bad about that?) as if people enjoy Buddie because of the amorphous purity of it all and not at ALL because it's hot (it is and you should say so).
If my thoughts about this are so upsetting to you, just block me, dude. I promise I won't take it personally.
Also, just...learn to enjoy a ship whether it's canon or not. I've done it, we've all done it. It's not that hard, especially THIS ship, which has so much good stuff to it regardless of whether there's romance or not. Those of us who like Buck with Tommy are not taking away from you enjoying Buddie, or anyone doing so. It's not like...the State of Buddie will lose congressional representation if the population falls below a certain level. The existence of another ship does not affect yours.

I have more unhinged thoughts about Buck and costume design choices, so stay with me for a bit. I will be using Buck's previous relationships to make the point tho, so tw Taylor Kelly.
This started going around my head in a very innocent "it's so cool that they chose to put Buck in green during the coma dream" because Buck wears red a lot. Like, a LOT.
Tumblr media
And green is on the other side of the color wheel. So him in green during the coma dream deeply bothered me for no reason.
Tumblr media
Because like, when Buck is wearing bright colors he's usually around here on a color wheel because there's the burnt orange he wears sometimes too. So they put him in his complementary color, and the whole thing with complementary colors is to create contrast and I was mindblown by that a little bit once it registered.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But then I was making an edit and I noticed that Buck is wearing green when he breaks up with Taylor. Which is fine, we all know the whole Blue and Green thing with couples in 911, right?
Tumblr media
So I just moved on with the idea that they put him in green because the relationship is wrong and moved on, until I noticed he wasn't always the green character. Because then shit gets interesting.
Tumblr media
Because, when does he become the green character? When he tells her that he kissed someone else. So he's the one wearing green when the relationship starts to fall apart and when they break up.
Tumblr media
And that alone for me is fascinating because oh my god the costume department is out there working overtime. But I am a dog with a bone and what's another time where Buck is wearing green? The fight with Ali. Who's also wearing blue, very light blue but still blue.
Tumblr media
But also just accepted this as just a blue and green thing with couples because Ali is not around enough for me to use her to establish a pattern.
But I was also on high alert about other situations he might be wearing green, not that all of them fully registered until this morning when it finally clicked that he's wearing green on the cemetery scene.
Tumblr media
Because another time he's wearing green on his own is when he takes Red to see Cindy and when he talks to Maddie about Abby and being left behind right after. Also when he's hiding in Eddie's place so he won't have to talk to Taylor.
Tumblr media
I don't know about yall but I feel like this does establish a pattern of him wearing green while doing misguided stuff in his chase of his idea of romantic love.
But I have more points if you're not convinced yet.
We established that he wears a lot of red and that the thing with complementary colors is contrast, right? I'm not gonna sit here and tell you that there's a set pattern on when he wears red because he wears red in multiple circumstances, but I will tell you a few scenes that back me up.
Because baby boy is wearing red when he finally lets go of Abby, on both occasions, and when he's literally talking to Maddie about what love really means leading to him finally making the right choice to stop hanging on to Taylor.
Tumblr media
He wears red when he finally does the right thing when it comes to love and he wears green when he's trying to convince himself he's doing the right thing. Contrast.
This show is crazy. Insane. Absolute madness.
Edit:
Okay, extra point here. I went against adding this particular scene because I legit can't tell if his shirt is green or blue here. But I got a reply here and decided to check.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so it went to color-hex to try and determine it, well, this is definitely a shade of green. I actually made a whole pallete of his shirt. This is definitely green.
Tumblr media
So another point to team he does misguided shit on his quest for love in green clothing because this is the scene where he's telling Maddie about Abby and Maddie is telling him that she's bagging other guys but he chooses to ignore it.
Am i crazy? probably. But what's that thing once is a chance twice is a coincidence and three is a pattern? Thats 4 scenes with the green and him doing stupid shit in the name of love.

Honestly, Tommy strikes me as the kind of person who would jump into a relationship fully knowing it's going to flop because the other person isn't all in, only to still be a bitter asshole the entire time it's falling apart like it's some surprise to him. He could have been kind and understanding when Buck wasn't ready to come out to his best friend on his first date with a man (especially since Tommy has been there before!!), but instead he chose to be a jerk because that's Tommy's go-to mode (he'd probably describe it as brooding). So there's no way he's holding Buck's hand and gently telling him that he understands and it's ok that he's in love with Eddie. No, that man will start to have a funky attitude every time Buck mentions Eddie, making the same kinds of little passive aggressive, sarcastic jibes that Abby did and that Buck never knew how to react to. And when they break up, even if it's his idea, he'll make Buck feel guilty about it, I guarantee, he just won't be able to help himself. Even though, lbr, Tommy has avoided getting too close to Buck because of point a (he knows Buck is probably into someone else), so he probably won't even be that disappointed.

This fandom is turning into a madhouse!
Why? 😢
What is all the arguing about? Why are fans taking sides in multiple standoffs. How are these wars starting?
What I have to say may not be well-received by some sides in the numerous boxing matches active in this fandom right now, but I'm going to say my piece. 🤷‍♀️ I am not responsible for white-hot rage, tears, or epiphanies that you don't want. So, proceed at your own risk. Or whatever.
Buddie vs BuckTommy
BuckTommy fans, Buddie fans were not seeing things. Those characters were written as being pulled into each other's orbits and it was more than platonic. It wasn't blatant, and it has been hinted it couldn't be due to the network. Even now, with Eddie and Buck being in relationships, and Eddie somehow being in multiple, they are still using Buddie to promote the show. If they are not going to happen, then why the use that to get ratings? That is the definition of baiting.
Buddie fans, BuckTommy is canon. They may not last or they may be endgame. We won't know until it happens. Why lose your mind over fictional characters that one man controls? It's simple. If you feel they played the Buddie card only to put Eddie in a mess of epic proportions and make Buck become Evan Buckley-Kinard, tune out and keep fanfic alive. Do you know how many fandoms have followed that process? If Tommy was brought back just as a plot device, then it's not much better than baiting.
You know what would be hilarious? Buck meets a third person, falls in love, and marries them.
It would shut both sides down if it was a woman. (I may have a petty streak and if I were in charge, I could see making it Taylor or Abby.)😈🤣(Maybe then the warring factions could call a truce over tears and beers.)
Tommy Kinard was not a good guy. That's not delusion. That's canon.
BuckTommy fans, the character of Tommy Kinard has done multiple problematic things, and the writers are not addressing any of it. Telling people to get over it is not cool. Being closeted or confused is no excuse for calling Chimney the delivery guy and Hen the b-word. He was actively and willingly participating is some of the worst forms of bullying someone can experience. He wasn't a teenager who was just trying to fit in. He was a grown man. No excuses for his behavior are acceptable and, in the real world, you would be hard-pressed to find his victims forgiving him. They would not be his friends.
I can see why women, especially black women and LGBTQ women, and non-white men, especially Asian men, would say they don't like how his past transgressions are being ignored. He was openly racist and misogynist. That is canon. Nothing was misunderstood or misinterpreted. Tommy was a d*ck.
If you watch how Lou is portraying Tommy, there are indications that what we saw in season 2 is a part of his personality. The lack of discussion about his past could be intentional because it may come up in the future.
How has no one noticed how he speaks to Buck sometimes? Maybe I am just older than most in the fandom and have experienced a lot more, but there are things about Tommy Kinard's behavior that don't seem very...nice. The way he speaks to Buck sometimes is like he is dismissing what he thinks or feels. Sometimes he seems to be speaking to Buck as if he is a child. I was offended on Buck's behalf.
The biggest CAUTION sign so far was when he admitted he is jealous of the 118. What? That doesn't even make sense! Think about it. Tommy went out of his way to make the 118 hostile toward anyone who wasn't a het white male. When Bobby took over and changed the culture, he brought respect and openness which cultivated the friendship, and eventual love, that created the family the 118 is now. Tommy could have easily come out to the team under Bobby, apologized, and began building the bridges he burned. But he did not.
Tommy chose his side but now he is jealous of the work Bobby put in to clean up Gerrard's mess? Could it be something else giving his jealousy life? Could Tommy be resentful that the exclusive, prejudice environment he happily embraced, and helped keep in place, under Gerrard disappeared and because an inclusive tight-knit family created from the outcasts?
That is a very real possibility and if that is the case, it says a lot about Tommy Kinard and could lead to an interesting arc in the remainder of season 7 and season 8.
Eddie Diaz is not a bad guy.
I think Eddie has been teetering on the edge for many seasons. TBH, I am surprised he has been as stable as he has for this long. That man is walking meatsuit full of trauma.
People who are mentally stable and have healthy coping skills do not join underground fighting rings, smash their bedrooms, or ask relative strangers to watch his child and move in. There have been many indications for multiple seasons that Eddie is not in a good place but keeping it together for the sake of his son.
I do not think Eddie is trying to hurt anyone at all. I think he is trying to claw his way out of some hell his mind has had him in for a long time.
That man needs to be taken to the nearest inpatient facility and admitted. (If you are thinking of making a negative comment stigmatizing mental health awareness or treatment, reconsider, choose not to, and move along. Mental health is just as important as physical.)
Eddie Diaz is in no condition to be in a relationship with anyone except a therapist right now.
Whether you want Buddie, Eddie/Marisol, or Eddie/Wife's Ghost, if you want to see anyone with this guy right now, I have to ask you if you are feeling okay.
Remember how Eddie's parents didn't want him dragging Christopher down with him? Right now, it looks like Eddie's carefully, barely held together existence is going to go boom. Anyone in the blast radius is in danger. The only dates Edmundo Diaz should be having is at least three times weekly and begin with a mental health professional asking him if he has something he wants to talk about.
Evan "Buck" Buckley is a grown ass man. Stop infantalizing him! They even do it on the show.
I can't be the only one who sometimes forgets that thick mountain of a man is not a young twenty-something just wandering out into the world.
He's in his thirties. He's been in therapy. He's grown. He has to do what all of us adults do: Make decisions, wait to find out what happens, and deal with the consequences.
Say it with me: Buck is not a baby.
No one who has any real knowledge is going to tell fandom what the future holds for the show.
Who doesn't get that?
There are unhinged fans on every side of every current fight.
If you are attacking actors, writers, producers, networks, or anyone else, I have to wonder if you should be in a room next to Eddie after someone who loves him takes him where he should go.
That type of behavior used to get you a room with soft walls and a free jacket that left you in a permahug.
You can make anything you want happen with the characters.
It's call fanfiction and AO3 is wonderful. If there is a great story that hasn't been told, get on Word, Docs, Libre, or whatever you have and start making it a reality!
Authors have major support and respect from the fans.
If writing isn't your thing, but you are great at prompts and don't mind authors taking your prompts and creating stories, find a way to share them!
There are positive ways to channel your eyerolls, frustration, anger, or whatever. Draw fanart. Write fic. Write ideas and throw them at those who draw fanart and write fanfic.
To the whole fandom: CHILL! PLEASE!
I don't want to watch another fandom I enjoy implode. I don't want to see other fandoms assume everyone in this fandom is in need of the soft room and permahug fashion I mentioned earlier.
Been there, done that.
At the end of the day, everyone needs to remember:
It's not real.

So you’re pretty sure of him being next season still around… glad to know, because I totally agree, cause a lot of people is sure that they’re going to break up soon…and honestly, if that was the case, story wise, it wouldn’t make any sense to me…
Maybe you’re right and the ILY will arrive next season, but this season I would love for them to take the next step and label themselves as a serious relationship…
Yeah, I'm pretty sure Tommy will stays at least for season 8. because of story they are making and because of how bucktommy was taken by fandom and the thing that Lou was followed by 911 ig account. For me it all speaks "we want more of him"
You're absolutely right that story wise for now there's no reason for Buck and Tommy to break up. They for now was only on two dates(and we will not see the time skip to wedding I guess but still I believe it's several week after coffee date so we also can add some more dates+ wedding) and they are absolutely smitten with each other and want to try to know each other. Tim, Lou and if I'm not mistaken Oliver all said they want romcom and I can't see them break even at the end of the season, but I can see them taken more serious step as calling each other boyfriends. Oliver also said there's gonna be more kisses and Buck initiate some of them, so Buck definitely feels more confident in his relationship and I can see him only trying to make them deeper and more meaningful, but not "clinging" because he's scared to be alone, but because he really likes Tommy
When they didn't want someone for long, Ali for example, they barely gave us anything about the character. We literally just knew that where she works, that she was dying her hair blonde for a lot of time and that's all. About Ana, who stayed for pretty longer, we jts knew her work, that she has sister(right before break up) and that's all. Even Taylor had backstory only in 5s when I guess they tried to make Bucktaylor work.
About Tommy we already know some things from begins episodes and that's btw makes everything easier. Tim said that they chose Tommy because he was already existed in the universe, they don't need to create new person, but they made Tommy deeper. We literally had Tommy in 6 episodes (in one barely) and we already know more about him we know about Tailor who was around for 1,5 seasons. They showed us where he works, said that he was in the army(in begins it never mentioned), made his story we saw in begins deeper with saying "yeah, he was in closet.", told us about his interests like Muay Thai, cars, basketball, we know he's a movie fan like Chim (begins). We know he loves Love, actually and craft beer. They made him Eddie's new friend. Also they let Lou to share his ideas how he sees Tommy (hard unstable childhood) which I'm sure wasn't for nothing. I see them making Tommy the character on the Karen's level at least .The LI of the main character, who is regular with enough backstory to make them interesting and lovable to the audience, but no need to make them main. Also Tommy's job allows him to make appearance any time they want. And his friendship with Eddie, Chim and Hen too. So he doesn't need to be just "Buck's boyfriend". Tommy has way better treatment any gf of Buck or Eddie had and we have him as a LI for only 3 episodes. Imagine what they can do till the end of the season and during next one? Make him loveable LI who is not plot device, but also no need to make him main. And as Tommy not in 118, 911 don't even have to go through standard plot of "oh, we are working together and it's gonna be a lot of drama about it". Too old

"When was the last time anybody hugged you?"
Cold Water
Jey Uso was separated from his birth family at a young age, what happens when he runs into his twin brother, randomly one day?
Will his existing relationship with Jai, his best friend of eleven years fold under the pressure of trying to find his place with them?
*the story will be better than the description, I promise!
"When was the last time anybody hugged you?"
The question was simple, one the average person could easily answer. But for Jey, it felt like cold water had been dumped all over his body. It felt like someone had pushed him out into the winter air without a jacket, because he hadn't been hugged in a long time.
Jey wishes he could say he was last hugged yesterday, or even a week ago, but that wasn't the case.
Instead, he said nothing, he just rolled his eyes, kissed his teeth and tipped his head back. "Not everybody has mommy and daddy there to coddle them."
That wasn't Jey's voice. The tone was softer, but always firm.
It was Jai, as usual. They were always the first one to defend Jey, or divert attention away from him. He was always thankful for them, they had a quick tongue and never backed down.
Jey could easily defend himself, he could quickly remind his friend he grew up in the system, having been separated from his birth family after a freak incident. However, he always chose to say nothing. It was easier than bringing down the whole room.
Besides, Jey aged out of the system with Jai a few months ago. It sucked never being adopted, but Jai was there too. Just as alone as Jey, but never one to show how deeply it stung.
While they ended up in the same foster home, their situations were drastically different. Jai had been abused by their birth parents for years before finally being freed of them.
Their foster parents were nice, thankfully. They'd only been separated twice since they met.
They'd both been in less than ideal homes in their lives, but the last family they found themselves with had been kind, and inviting. They even helped Jey and Jai find a place to stay after their 18th birthdays, not to mention they stayed in constant touch with the pair.
There was a loud 'bang!' before anyone could respond to Jai.
Jey was more than glad to grab his stuff and Jai, using the distraction to extract his best friend and himself.
The sound was just one of the other wrestlers in training having hit the mat a little too hard. Everyone should've been accustomed to the sound by now, but it could still be alarming.
As soon as the fresh air hit his face, Jey was tipping his head back with a small smirk. "Ten bucks says Hawks doesn't last another month."
Jai clicked their tongue, their shoulder bumping into Jey's. "Man, you know I agree with you. Why would I take that bet?" Jey gives a soft shrug, throwing his arm around Jai's shoulders, "A month is real specific, what if he only lasts another week? You just lost ten dollars!"
Before Jai can respond, Jey's body is tugged away from them, a soft 'oof' leaving the taller of the two. Jai is by his side immediately, though when they glare up at the mystery person, their eyes almost immediately widen.
"Um, Jey? Why is your face looking at me?" Their question falls on deaf ears when the person who bumped into Jey speaks,
"Josh…?"
One look at Jey confirms Jai's suspicions, though he looks equally as confused as they feel.
"I'm Jey." He points at himself, his brows pinched.
Jai breathes a deep sigh, their hair falling in front of their face as they do.
"Are you fucking stupid, Jey? Seriously?"
Twenty minutes later finds them in a cramped booth at a random diner near their training center. Jey is gripping Jai's thigh for dear life, as the guy who they've learned is named Jon, or Jimmy, munches on a plate of lukewarm fries.
He spent about ten minutes trying to convince Jey they were related, but given the fact they were clearly twins, Jai and Jey both felt it was unnecessary.
Jey had a dozen questions, but there was one question he couldn't let go of.
"Wait, why you here now? You said y'all lived in Florida, so how you end up in Ohio?"
Jimmy merely shrugged, "wrestling, man. I start training next week." Jey and Jai share a look, which has Jimmy visibly confused.
"What's with the faces?"
Jey chuckles softly, his grip on Jai's thing loosening, "Us too, actually. We moved from Indiana a few months back."
"We? Y'all a couple?"
Jai can feel their cheeks dusting red, and given the way Jey's fingers twitched against their thigh, they knew he was just as taken aback by the question.
"Nah, not at all. We're just really close. Been a duo since we were about seven years old!" It was the practiced answer, the one Jey and Jai gave to anyone who asked.
Because it was true, they weren't a couple. They'd always skirted around it, but neither were willing to risk the years of friendship under their belts for a relationship that might not work out.
Jimmy looked suspicious at the answer, but he held his hands up placatingly and took a sip from his long forgotten soda.
"You wanna know what's funny, Uce?"
Jey wanted to point out this entire situation was hilarious, but he just shook his head and motioned for the other to continue.
"Our family is wrestling royalty in the WWE,  so the fact you gravitated towards it without knowing is like…destiny or somethin'.
Aye, but now that I found you, we can be a family again!"
It was like destiny, and Jey wasn't sure if it was ironic or something else.
He was taken from his parents at the age of three, the reason is still mostly unknown to him. He spent his childhood being put through the ringer, hoping one day his family would return and sweep him away. Hoping they'd save him from the hell hole that was his life growing up.
No such rescue ever came, but his 18th birthday came and went and now the universe decided to drop his twin brother into his lap. A twin he never would've known he had if he hadn't ducked out of practice earlier than usual.
Years of crying himself to sleep, wishing for his mother's warm touch, coupled with dreams of fleeting touches he'd only known for a short while, were just supposed to be washed away because his twin brother found him, accidentally?
Yeah, right.
Jai seemed to sense his discomfort, and immediately shook their head. "You gotta give him time, he doesn't even know y'all. I'm his family, you're a bunch of strangers to him."
Jey wanted to wince at the ice lacing their tone, but he couldn't help but agree. Jai had been his only real family. He didn't even know Jimmy, or his parents. It would take more time than Jey was sure anyone would be willing to take.

Chapter 11: Y/N Hargreeves Robs A Bank
Tumblr media
Summary
As the title says.
Warnings? Click Here!
A/N: Is there a such thing as Burlesque performer to bank robber pipeline???
South Dallas Bank.
That was the target you set for yourself. It was close by to where you initially landed and with the money you'd get, all you had to do was lay low and then whenever the cops loosen up their search, you would take that opportunity to high tail it either out of Dallas or out of Texas all together for a bit.
Regardless of what the early 60s didn't have, you still needed to do this right. No room for error.
First thing's first: you needed to find somewhere to lay low. You couldn't really run around with a bunch of cash.
So you found a motel. Room was pretty cheap, running about 11 bucks. So between the meal you got and that, you REALLY needed this plan to work.
Luckily, the guy that owned the place didn't ask questions. Seemingly only wanted to be left alone to watch his new TV and only be disturbed when it was for emergencies.
"Perfectly fine with me." You told him with a smile.
He didn't flash one back.
Next on the agenda: a disguise.
Now this was the first ACTUAL act of thievery. You simply found some poor dude's long coat and hat that was hanging out to dry. At another house, someone carelessly left their door unlocked, so you stole their shades and scarf.
Thus giving you a nice classic femme fatale looking disguise.
You had everything you needed. Now, it was time to act. It all needed to go off without a hitch.
And it did.
Because no one was prepared for what happened that day.
——✨——
It was a little on the hotter side for everyone in the bank looking to make deposits and withdrawals. And it seemed like the bank's central AC wasn't working well as everyone was fanning themselves in intervals. All of them desperate to make this day go by smoothly so they can get into places that HAD their ACs working today.
Even the security was halfway out of it due to the heat. This was the perfect time to strike.
All of the careful planning and still: you wanted to make it a show.
So you busted through the doors like a cowboy making his entrance into a saloon. And just like those movies, everyone stopped what they were doing to look at you.
You had only one thought on your mind when you woke up today and chose mild violence.
You were going to more akin to a gentlemen thief.
Sure this current approach was a bit rough but you didn't really have time for patience and calling cards. Plus, you were trying to make this a one time thing.
Surely, you'll find something to keep you afloat afterwards. Something..."legit".
"Ladies, gentlewoman, and everyone secretly in between, this bank is now being robbed! Now you will have to bare with me because while this isn't my first experience with a bank robbery, this is the first time I've been on the robbing side and if you all cooperate, everyone can go home relatively unscathed."
There was a long pause before a few people started giggling...rude. One of the senior tellers caught the attention of one of the guards, who pretty much tuned you out. With a condescending snap of his fingers, the teller instructed the guard to throw you out as everyone else proceeded to get back to what they were doing.
The guard sighed. Groggily getting up from his sit to begin walking over to you.
You smirked. "I was hoping something like this would happen. Allow me to show you how series this is."
You snapped for your fingers pointing in the direction of the security guard. The speed of a bright white light zooting past at a high speed caught everyone's attention as you went from the entrance doors to right behind the guard.
Screams erupted from a few of the women in the room. Just as you had hoped, fear and curiosity kept everyone in place. This was a time before you and the others existed. There were no marketable supplements to talk about your power. There was no way for any of these people to know what else you could do.
In their minds, if you could get from point A to point B with the quickness of a flash on a camera then what else could you do?
You wrapped an arm around the neck of the guard, applying a pressure that lowkey put the fear of god of him because he was a burly man with a 60s mindset. No woman, no matter her size, should be able to render him useless.
But this was the case. You were more experienced in a fight, you had to be. You knew exactly what to do to break down an opponent that would use their body as their biggest strength.
Everyone looked on in horror as the guard's flailing arms did nothing to aid him and he slowly loss consciousness and fell to the reflective marble floor.
You made a display of dusting your hands off before putting your hands on your hips and looking at the senior teller who gawked at you in fear and a little bit of offense which was funny.
"Anyone else you want me to choke out or do you want to take me to the money? Because frankly that took a lot out of me and if I have to fight some more..." you trailed off as you slowly raised your hands and began emitting soft white glows. "it's gonna get very bloody and I think so many people wanna go today."
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw a few people glance at the door.
"And anyone who decides to leave, just know that I DO have the means to find you and even if you go to the cops, they won't protect you...from me."
You had roughly placed your hand on the back of the unconscious guard's chair. This time, the glow of your hand burned bright and when you lifted it, everyone shared a series of audible shocks at the sight of a piece of the chair being burnt to the point of almost melting.
"Now imagine that...but its your face." You spoke with an unsettling cheerfulness.
Then you strode over to the senior teller's window, casually leaning on the counter with a teasing knock on the window and sweetly sickening smirk. "So...about that cash..."
——✨——
To say everyone was still frozen in fear by the time you waltzed out with two duffle bags filled with money and comedically, the straps were on your arms in the same way shopping bags would be positioned on the arms of happy shopping valley girl.
You had made a nice showing of your power which resulted in no one calling the police until AFTER you were gone. Of course, the police didn't believe them until they saw some of the security footage and they couldn't even believe their eyes so much that they never realized that they really didn't get a good look at you. Neither did any of the people in the building at the time.
The fear and curiosity you had banked on literally came in clutch for baby's very first bank robbery.
You laid low for a few days before you decided to leave Dallas, sure that the cops has lessened their search because they really didn't want to think about what to do with someone that could burn things to that degree with their hands.
You did surprise yourself though.
As you were listening to the newscast and icing your hands. You had the thought of "why didn't I think of burning things sooner" because...yeah why wouldn't someone who's power is light based be able to burn something.
It's not like your light powers were some heaven sent thing...probably.
You would mark this down for later. Not that you were planning on doing this again...YOU WEREN'T. This money was just what you needed to get on your feet.
This was a one...time...thing.

Emily March
An In-Depth Character Analysis
Tumblr media
Ghost Form:
Like all ghosts, she lacks skin pigmentation and has grey shadows around her eyes as well as a visible grey hue to her lips. Her feet are bare but splattered with blood as is most of her legs which are visible from the knee down. She wears the same purple dress she was wearing the night she died, her wrists marred by the deep vertical cuts that took her life. The post-mortem photographs taken of her reveal that her back was scattered with bruises and various cuts and scrapes, likely from one or several of her eleven victims fighting back.
Tumblr media
Killer Classification:
Spree Killer:
A spree killer is someone who commits a criminal act that involves two or more murders in a short time, often in multiple locations. Being present during Royce's death and then seeing his body caused her to have a psychotic break. She purposely chose 11 people she knew her half-brother cared about - one of which was her own friend, Caroline Cooper - hunting and stabbing each of them 11 times with a Buck 119 knife over a span of 11 days. Her spree started Monday, October 14th, 1957 and she killed one person each night, coming to an end on Thursday, October 24th, 1957.

Personality:
On the surface, Emily was kind. She was a good friend, a wonderful listener, and a talented musician. She was fiercely intelligent. A trait she inherited from her great-grandfather, Ryan, along with his photographic memory, and black as pitch hair. While she had a good heart, it could also be uncontrollable, very similar to Royce's lack of self-control.
Because of her empathetic nature, she never hesitated to help those in need of it, treating all with warmth and respect. Even if she didn't say a word, her feelings were easy to read due to her honest expressions, which caused those around her to soften in tough situations and be honest as well. Even with this, she wasn't without her flawed, quirky, and immature side, which was typical of her age.
Emily was, despite her relatively small size and the time period she was born and raised in, headstrong and outspoken, possessing what some would say was a pathological fearlessness when it came to defending her friends or herself. She also wasn't afraid to be violent when the situation called for it and was a capable fighter.
She was never afraid to voice her mind about what was "right" and what is "wrong," making her somewhat opinionated and stubborn. She eventually learned to not see the world in black or white, becoming the one others turn to when they need emotional support or advice as she can be direct and make hard but valid points, even to a friend. Still, Emily was unforgiving of anyone who betrayed or disappointed her. She could also be manipulative at times, easily telling people what they want to hear or lying to get Royce out of trouble.
Though she was usually calm and compassionate, Emily had a surprising hidden violent side to her when her short temper was brought into play. Her half-brother tended to be the only one who brought this out in her due to his violent and ill-mannered nature which she never tolerated or had any patience for. She is completely comfortable reacting violently to his instigations, believing wholeheartedly that his reasons for hating her are pathetic and make him an incredibly weak person. She could also be vindictive and harsh in her dealings with him, one time remarking quite cruelly that she was their father's favorite child (which was true) and that it was never her fault that her mother loved her while Johnny's fled the moment she had him and started a new life pretending he never existed.
Emily was in love with Royce Clayton. A love he returned just as fiercely. She was present during the drag race that took his life and it traumatized her deeply. The compounding shock of seeing his body and the added knowledge that Johnny was going to go unpunished was too much for her and Emily suffered a psychotic break, channeling all of her grief and anger into a masked vigilante persona that the newspapers would come to call, "The Madison Ripper."
For eleven nights in a row, the Ripper terrorized Madison, Ohio, claiming a life each night. As the Ripper, Emily was malicious, calculating and brutal, specifically targeting those her brother was fond of and taking their lives with a Buck 119, inflicting 11 stab wounds with precision and bloody resolve. The sheriff of the town at the time, Donald Rafkin, was a psychic. Due to his suspicion of her, he attempted to do a reading when he went to see how she was doing. He could glean nothing. She was blank. Empty. Nothing inside. Royce's murder had robbed her of her will to live as well as anything else that had made her an individual.
Even after her vengeance was complete and the Ripper was retired, Emily felt no reprieve from her agony. Seeing no relief, and tired of the pain consuming her every fiber, she murdered her brother, stabbing him a grand total of 26 times before cutting his throat. She then returned home and turned the blade on herself.
In total, she outlived Royce by fifteen days.
Tumblr media
Relationship with Royce Clayton:
One of the defining relationships in Emily's life was the one she shared with Royce Clayton. As their mothers had been lifelong best friends, the two were born relatively close together, with only a ten day difference.
Royce was born on March 23rd, 1940. He is an Aries, which definitely suits him. It was clear from a young age that Royce had temper issues, putting Johnny's head through a window when he was just four years old - despite the fact that Johnny was two years older - as well as hurling a block at the back of another child's head when they pulled Emily's hair. Despite this troubling behavior, Emily never batted an eyelash, merely learning to look out for signs of an impending tantrum and find ways to calm him down. If that failed, she would just find a way to keep him out of trouble afterward. Since Emily could smell lies and tell even better one's, this tended to be successful more often than not.
Royce driven by a fierce, persistent determination to win in every aspect of his life. However, his volatile emotions could often drive him to behave childishly and become tiresome to his friends at times. Royce was incredibly hotheaded and easy to upset, often striking out with his fists toward the source of his annoyance. He even occasionally got nasty with girls if they irritated him. This was particularly true about Caroline Cooper, one of Emily's best friend's and the most annoying out of the three. His dislike of her was no secret to her as he had told her he hated her to her face before walking off like nothing happened. Royce was also impatient by nature and could be very prideful, having much difficulty admitting he was wrong about something.
With the onset of puberty, their close friendship became a crush which evolved into love. Despite discovering his talent for baseball in his freshman year of high school as well as becoming suddenly very popular with girls, Royce paid no attention to them, often exhibiting annoyance with their persistence, solely seeking Emily's attention, desiring her affection and love, truly believing that she was the only person that loved him completely, illustrating that he had enough self-awareness to know that his ego and anger problems made him a hard person to feel genuine affection for, the superiority complex he exhibited hiding his true feelings of inferiority and failure.
Emily never minded, encouraging him when he hit a low, doing his homework when he was too exhausted from everything else to do it himself, calming him down when he lost it with an endless supply of patience, and giving him the love and affection he desired, easily managing to put him back into place without fear of reprisals if he overstepped in her outside relationships. Luckily, unlike a lot of girls in her time period, she didn't really have to worry much about Royce being jealous or possessive since he knew it was illogical to expect her to just ignore every guy that talked to her. He trusted her enough to tell him if one overstepped.
As a result of his love for her, Royce became fiercely protective of Emily, saying to his best friend and teammate, Andrew, that "if anything ever happened to her, I would die." He would often turn his anger on her friend's if she got hurt when she was with them. Even going so far as to throw one of his classmates to the ground when they accidentally knocked her into the chalkboard.
Royce told Susan during their first captivity that the hardest part of dying was watching Emily fight against her friends hold on her as she tried to get to him. To help him. The sight of her tears had hurt more than the torn skin on his body. He had been grateful for the superheated air stealing his breath, knowing that every scream for help he gave was a dagger to her heart.

As much as I love the idea of Ryan being fully responsible for how that scene came-off, I can’t help but call bull on KR saying it had to be Eddie because he was at the controls. Maybe if he hadn’t been knocked off I could buy it but that man went flying off the truck. At that point I think any of them would’ve been in a better position to go up the ladder instead of Eddie. Eddie being knocked down & likely pretty injured puts him in probably the worst position of anyone in the 118 to go up there. Regardless of how much of losing his cool & desperately shouting was on Ryan, KR & the writers still chose to have him be the one to go up that ladder. It could’ve been Chim or Bobby or Hen to climb that ladder after Eddie fell, they chose to knock Eddie down & have him get back up to save Buck.
Yeah, I'm not saying Ryan orchestrated the whole thing, the director has to plan out and block the shots and set the cameras up for who will be where and at what times and all that good stuff. So clearly it was a carefully planned choice who would be responding where and when. Aisha had to get the ambulance, Bobby waited for Buck's body, and Chim? Chim went up to work the controls while Eddie went up the ladder until Buck starting coming down and he handed the controls off to someone else. He easily could have been the one to go up and had Eddie stagger up to the controls but no. They wanted Eddie up on that ladder.
And also, as much as the performance itself is down to Ryan, they still have the control to say "that was too much, pull it back" or, "we need less of *this* and more *this* kind of thing", but they didn't. Just like with Eddie Begins and the shooting scene, they saw what he did and decided it was exactly what they were going for and wanted to put on screen. If it wasn't? They wouldn't have used it, plain and simple. Especially since they know how it comes across. Just because she refuses to see it, doesn't mean it's not there.

"If Tim is “no longer involved” with OG, there’s less of a chance his influence can fuck things up for the fandom."
Me, to whoever unironically believing that: Kristen Reidel and Buck's cheating/sperm donor drama hello? Anyone?
She's picked as the co-showrunner because Tim likes her brand of drama the most. Why haven't people realized that? Is being a "911 writers' stan" cloud the judgment so much?
I don't think it's about "stanning" a show runner as much as it is wanting or trying to promote the belief that their choices have a purpose that matches the fandom's, especially when a lot of the activity in this space comes from people who write fics and paragraphs worth of analysis and speculation. If Tim was still dividing his time between both shows or there was no spinoff, you wouldn't see the "good riddance" reaction going around since s4 of LS started. They'd *have* to put their faith in him because there would be no backup plan. This is evident in the "defense" of the two story lines you mentioned. Buck cheating was (from a fandom POV) supposed to spell the downfall of BT. It did not. It was also supposed to be an indication of Buck's "regression" and inevitable breakdown. It was neither of those things. Mainly because Eddie's breakdown followed immediately after and Buck had to be on his best behavior to care for Chris/offer Eddie emotional support. Now that the arc is closed, nobody brings it up because it added nothing to his story. BT broke up because TayKay's work got in the way, giving people the excuse to harp on about terrible they were together or she was as a person. (We were never supposed to like her for him or them together. Maaaaybe if the fandom wasn't celebrating her #charactergrowth in s4 and pushing the idea that she would stay on as a platonic friend, the trajectory of the relationship could have gone differently, but alas. They were duped.)
With the sperm donor arc, the initial thought process (my preferred outcome, obv) was that Buck wouldn't actually go through with it because he'd realize he isn't built for not being a constant presence in his bio kid's life. And for the bloggers who think they know everything, it doesn't make sense if canon!Buddie isn't the outcome. (A lot less likely now that the spotlight is on another couple. Can't have social media talking about Buddie and Buddie only.) Making a rash decision, but then having the universe "scream" via failed donor attempts or having Buck speak to someone from his family about the mistake he'd be making and then he realizes he shouldn't do it, would have been a good story, absolutely. Stop doing things for other people, Buck! Do them for you! Because you understand your worth now! But here we are months later and: - His attempt at helping make a baby was successful, and proven successful in the 6A finale, meaning we're nowhere near the end. - The show runner was already talking about the impending birth in her s5 post-mortem interviews. Unless it turns out that Connor was able to impregnate his wife (still rooting for this no matter how unlikely, especially when the reaction could have changed what was meant to happen down the line) there's gonna be a kid, and it will be biologically Buck's. IMO, the people who will still "applaud" the story line if it turns out Buck has a kid out there somewhere are the ones who want to see him with his "own family" because Chris isn't actually his. (Apparently "the family we chose" doesn't apply when there's an option for Big Man, Tiny Baby? Okay.) But to everyone else? RED FLAG. Kristen would not create a fictional child just to never bring it up again. It's easy drama. Also, the audience is going to know that Buck has someone else with his DNA. They are going to be thought of as "his kid", not Christopher, until canon says otherwise. It's a way to appease a certain part of the base in the event that Buddie goes canon because at least he got to have one of his own, right? And honestly, it works in the opposite scenario - Buddie remaining friends throughout - because TPTB have no way of knowing how long OG will run for or how long OS will stick around. If Buck gets a LI that's not Eddie, there may not be time for a pregnancy plot.

listening to joshua's playlist aches of years of joshua's story through the human-to-go pipeline. it was not easy for him. he had to take his life to get there, and he did it 1. so he could become composer and 2. to escape his deplorable human life. he believed there's a better place for him on the other side, and indeed there was, but since it wasn't complete apotheosis his emotional baggage, his neuroses, disorders, all of it transferred over. he was essentially a demigod so existence elevated but it wasn't a clean slate. yoshiya was still an imprinted part of joshua. that made the transition profoundly difficult and messy, and all the things he hated about himself as a human ran rampant without any consequence. the human and deity were at war for ages, and his battiness was exacerbated by isolation and omniscience. he recognizes his privilege as composer and embraces his purpose; he's good at it. he will be the best composer shibuya's ever had. but there's so much he's yet to cope with. and self-loathing to reconcile, that puts his psyche under massive strain. he needs to be in control; he's the heart of the city. he should be able to let go like he did at the top of 104. he'd wished (and asked) for erasure more times than he can count, which now in retrospect mortifies him. he didn't know any other way to navigate his overwhelming feelings. it's like being forced to grow up too fast. the ground he stood on was malnourished and riddled with holes. every step he took might put his foot through the earth. he needed to decide what to do with it: let it degrade or try to restore it.
cue the long game — joshua selected someone to play for him, a proxy, to gamble the fate of the city he fell out of touch with. he chose someone who reflected him, who he felt was just like him. whether or not joshua realized the depth of it, neku represented shibuya's stagnancy and rot. to joshua's surprise, however, neku exhibited positive change within the game, being inspired rather than disillusioned by his experiences, even by joshua himself.
neku inadvertently helped joshua see shibuya through fresh eyes, and when neku had the chance to `win' the game, which dictated he shoot the composer to take his place, he refused.
neku's evolution bucked the odds. if one person who was almost as checked out of the world as yoshiya was could make a total 180, then there was hope for more like them. people can change. it's such a simple lesson that joshua never would have believed until he'd seen it tested and proven in one of the most challenging cases. neku's influence seeped into the soil, and over time replenished the decrepit ground. and in that period, joshua healed many holes within himself. things were on the mend. joshua was able to comprehend the notion of healthy relationships and feel that he was worthy of having them.
but he's still a composer, and a composer's life is a lonely one by design.

I can't find the post you mentioned it in, but I swear you have brought up the power imbalance and age difference with Tommy in Canon calling him kid. If that wasn't you, sorry for wasting time. But I was curious about your thoughts on something.
I'm a believer that the last scene wasn't supposed to be there. The last one was the medal scene, and you know that would have still worked with him coming back next season. I think it was added for extra ick because everyone on the other side just skipped over "kid".
The thing is, it's established that Buck is the kid.
BObby, well we now know he thinks of him as a son. But since season 1 he routinely calls him and only him kid.
Athena obviously has maternal feelings for him.
Hen was his older sister before the real one came. She continues to do this with him even with Maddie.
Maddie.. Well she's a combination of Hen and Athena.
Chim. Older brother before becoming it. Who yes routinely referred to him as kid.
Even to Carla, he's Buckaroo. Heck, the inmates that kidnapped him. He called him kid. Kid is basically established lore to how he's viewed. And yes, they chose to have Tommy say that, and yes, it means something to me, especially when you through the put of place Daddy joke in.
I did mention it, quite a few times actually, but the way you phrased this made me think about the beginning of Buck and Abby actually. You made it click why the joke bothers me so much, because the thing is, the whole age difference was a thing that was made into a joke of sorts with Abby in the beginning, but it never happens in front of Buck or directly from Abby. Carla is in the background calling Buck a boytoy and Abby a cougar, and it's supposed to be cute that Abby wants the hot firefighter who happens to be 16 years younger than her. But Abby is the main character, Buck exists to serve a purpose for her in s1, so he's isolated from the age difference comments, even though Buck keeps giving this boyish energy. Buck very much is the baby of the group. But when you think about Abby, Abby is conflicted by the age difference even though she ends up asking Buck out, so even though the age thing could be a problem, it's not what's actually exacerbating a power imbalance, the thing there is that Buck is more in it than Abby, the age there is not a deciding factor. But when you look at Tommy, the way he calls Buck kid, the way he, in a sense, is making decisions about what he thinks Buck is feeling, like kissing Buck out of nowhere or deciding Buck is not ready by himself and leaving him in the curb, a daddy kink joke directed a Buck as Buck opens up about his issues, ends up being dismissive in a, (I don't wanna say disturbing because it doesn't go that far, but my English is failing me and that's the only word I can think of) it's more than unsettling but it's not quite disturbing, but it leaves a weird taste in my mouth because Buck is never taken seriously, and he wants to be taken seriously so badly he ends up trying too hard and that just makes him crash harder, and, as someone who knows Buck and didn't see enough effort in establishing Tommy as someone who truly cares about him, the "God, I hope so" kinda sounds like he just wants to take advantage of that eagarness Buck has and that's not it. Like, it's so not it. And you may be right to some degree, we did see behind-the-scenes stuff with Lou in the hospital that didn't make the episode, so they made a choice to have that dinner happen that way. But the question is, do they know that joke could be received like that, or did they just think that would be a funny thing to throw in there no one would look at twice? Because the thing is, I don't like Tommy and it got to a point where I'm looking for things to hate, so I look at that in the worst way possible, but if we are assuming intention of creeping people out, we can't exist in a plane where everything about Tommy will be instantly received poorly by everyone, because the joke landed. It's only a problem when you think about it and it was placed there as a throwaway comment. Because, Buck and Abby, it's never supposed to come out as weird, even though Abby used her job to get Buck's number and Buck is still living in a frathouse, so are they trying to make Tommy seem as weird as he comes off to us or are we interpreting things in the worst possible way? There's a balance there that I can't seem to find yet, because the show didn't build enough of the relationship for me to look at it objectively and know.
