#and he kept getting more and more angry and livid that we had to stop the math lesson so he could stand outside and cool down

Jason couldn’t help but smile when you entered the shared bathroom. The atmosphere was tense as you angrily ran your hands through your hair and frantically paced around the small, compact room. Curses and insults left your mouth, and he stared at you in awe.
It wasn’t often that you had an attitude, Jason never realized how attractive it was before.
He was sitting on the counter near the sink, shirtless, in an almost relaxed manner. The scars on his skin were highlighted under the pale yellow light of the bathroom and you could tell he was trying to hide a smirk. The sheer audacity made you livid. This was the second time this week that he came home bloodied and bruised. Only God knew how many times this exact situation had occurred this month.
You weren’t sure what it was that he was doing or what sort of trouble he had gotten himself into, you were just glad he made it home to you every night. The thought of losing Jason kept you awake in the late hours of the evening, his scars often haunted your dreams, but the fear, however, didn’t stop you from getting angry.
Most days, you wanted to leave him in the bathroom, make him clean the bloodied mess himself, but you couldn’t help it. You couldn’t just leave him alone, you had to be there for him. Your mind and body didn’t always agree when Jason was involved, your body regularly acted on its own accord.
And like every other day, you found yourself grabbing the first aid kit from the medicine cabinet, preparing to cleanse his wounds. You eyed his naked chest before silently reaching over to dampen a cotton pad with alcohol. Your frustration still lingered, Jason could feel the heat radiating off of your body. He stared at you intently, his eyes raked up and down your annoyed figure. He cupped your free hand and gave it a quick squeeze before letting you get back to work.
When the cool liquid touched his torn lip, he let out a deep sigh and closed his eyes. He clutched your hand tighter and pretended to flinch when you went back for a second time. He was being dramatic. He wanted the sympathy and craved the attention, and noticing the lack of reaction made him a little upset.
His hands reached down to your waist, he pulled you in between his legs and gave your skin a soft squeeze. “I’m sorry sweetheart,” he said gently. “I didn’t mean to stress you out.”
You rolled your eyes and continued to clean his mouth. “You’re an idiot, Jay, what are we gonna do about that tooth now,” he grinned in response, showing off the broken tooth. The sight made you want to giggle. He looked stupid, but adorable.
Your body, once again, reacted without thinking and your hands moved to caress his bruised jaw. He needed to shave, his stubble scratched and tickled your skin. His larger hand cupped your own and he placed a quick kiss on the inside of your palm, genuinely flinching this time. It pulled at your heartstrings.
“I’m so sorry,” he said once more, sincerely. You stared into his tired eyes and smiled, silently praying that this was the last time you ever had to clean his wounded skin.
“I forgive you, Jay.”

So, here is my humble request 👀:
Reader is afab Illyrian, got her wings clipped (because we hate this tradition that’s why and because I am too much into enemies to lovers) and the Bat Boys consider her something close to a little sister.
When Eris was making a deal with the NC to get their help to kill Beron and that shit, his bond snapped with reader.
Obviously problematic for him because he has been insulting Illyrians since his mom popped him out about 500+ years ago.
So…bonus points for: smut obvs.- go as filthy as you like, Lucien absolutely mocking Eris for FUMBLING desperately to get his charm going, reader being oblivious.
I hope this sparks some ideas and creativity 🥰🤞🏻
Would That I -- Part 1

A/n: This was too good not to make into a multi-part fic, so expect more soon. Smut will be coming!
Pairing: Eris X Illyrian!Reader
Warnings: Allusions to smut, pining, mentions of mental health
Word Count: 3,638
Summary: You hate him. You hate the very thought of him. And yet he's your mate. The Mother has a cruel sense of humour.
Part 2 Part 3
Fury rippled through your body like a forest fire. You were livid. And Cassian had the nerve to laugh at you. Well, stifle a laugh. Rhysand was watching him with a worried look as he tried to give him a silent warning to stop. This progressed to warning him mind to mind when you got up from the sofa, flinging a pillow so far it almost landed into the fireplace. Azriel flinched.
“Him!?” You seethed, finally breaking the silence you had kept since your return from that damned High Lord meeting. Cassian snorted softly and you rounded on him with a deathly calm. Rhys made a small noise in the back of his throat.
“Is this funny to you, brother? I’m shackled to that evil, pompous, ginger-haired freak and you’re laughing?” His smile had dropped and a look of fear was quickly overcoming his rugged features. You stepped closer to him, your finger in his face. “Don’t sleep too deeply tonight.”
Rhysand cleared his throat.
“Look, this doesn’t have to be the end of the world. You don’t have to accept the bond. We can make sure you never see him again.” The bond snarled through you at that and you growled.
“Sure Rhys, because you were so calm when you found out Feyre was your mate.”
His brow furrowed.
“So you want to be with Eris?” The name seemed to physically disgust him. Azriel scoffed, abruptly rising from the sofa and marching out of the room. Cassian eyed the doorway in his wake. You turned to Rhys.
“No!” You groaned in frustration, pacing up and down on the carpet like a caged animal. Cassian’s eyes darted between Rhys and you. Finally deciding to break things up he manhandled you into a hug. You fought it for a few moments, before giving up and collapsing into your brothers embrace, hot angry sobs wrenching through you. Rhys took this as his cue to leave, and winnowed—probably to his office—out of the room. Cassian rubbed soothing circles on your back, careful to avoid your wings that were ever more sensitive after the clipping.
You were clipped at thirteen, which is how you had come to live with the three brothers. In Windhaven, they clipped your wings the day you started your cycle. Once grounded there was no escaping your duties, nor any chance to leave the camp. Unless, of course, you had grown close with the High Lord’s son, who had a mother with a habit of collecting strays.
You were there through all of it, the highs, the lows, and Morrigan’s tumultuous relationship with one Eris Vanserra. The male you were now mated to.
---
In the Forest House, Eris was pacing. His throat was still sore from the memory of Azriel’s scarred hand, and his cheek burned from the slap that had earned him from his father. But all of that had been overshadowed. He knew as soon as he saw you. His heart had lurched in his chest so hard he had thought he might throw up. You were the most beautiful female he had ever laid his eyes on. And of course, you were from the Night Court. The Mother truly did have a cruel sense of humour.
You had walked in, looking as arrogant as the rest of them, sharing a secret smile with the shadowsinger before sitting down next to the High Lord. Eris, next to his mother, couldn’t rip his eyes from you. Your doe eyes, sharp and intelligent captured his attention first. He wanted nothing more than to get lost in them, to find out everything about you: What you liked to read, your favourite food, how best to pleasure you and have you screaming his name. He was pulled from his fantasies by your wings. Cauldron, your magnificent wings. Their beauty stole breath from his lungs as they unfurled, getting comfortable on the chair. You had smiled at Feyre, warm and supportive, and Eris knew he was utterly lost.
He finally stopped his pacing, locked inside his room, and sat down on the edge of his bed. He sat there, holding his head in his hands until he heard the scratch of claws at the door. Getting up with a weary sigh, he opened it only to be knocked to the ground by his oldest and most loyal smokehound.
“Cheddar.” He chided as she licked his face excitedly. “Cheddar Biscuit.” He said, sternly, and she leapt off of him, waiting by the door expectantly.
“Yes alright, I suppose it’s time for a walk.” Cheddars tail thumped faster against the door frame and Eris couldn’t help the smile that grew. “Go and fetch your brothers and sisters then.” He said, grabbing the leashes off the wall. A walk was one way to clear his mind.
---
As you had predicted, Rhys was holed up in his office when you went looking for him. He barely looked up at you as you entered.
Rhysand’s office was always meticulously organised, but as you came up behind his chair you noticed how messy his desk had become. Letters and notes were piled on every inch of space, his childhood stuffed bat sitting atop one pile as a makeshift paperweight.
He loosed a breath.
“We are going to war, Y/n.” He said quietly, and any thoughts of Eris Vanserra eddied from your mind. Rhys looked up at you with bloodshot eyes. Guilt coursed through you for ever caring about something as trivial as a mating bond when you and your brothers were set for battle. You had only just got Rhys back from under the mountain, only to potentially lose him again.
“Is it certain?” You asked, leaning down to rest your head on his shoulder.
“Yes.”
“Is Cass--?”
“Leaving for Windhaven by first light.” He answered.
“Ok.”
Rhys turned, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. He knew what you were thinking, though you wished you weren’t.
“Eris is an awful male, Y/n. You know I could never support the bond between you. Azriel is...well, I’m sure you already know.”
You did. The moment he had stormed out of the room you had known this was the beginning of a negative spiral for Az. Not to mention the upcoming war. You stood up straight.
“That being said.” Rhys continued. “Eris is ensuring Autumn allies with us against Hybern. There is a certain political advantage to the match.”
You scoff.
“Like there was with Mor?” Rhys turned green. “What did Eris bargain for in return for Autumn’s support? What did you trade away, Rhys?”
Rhysand looked every bit five centuries old when he turned to you.
“Our support in his bid for the throne. Whenever that may be.”
Hatred for the male burst anew in your gut, fiercer still now that you were mated to him.
“That power hungry bastard.” You spat.
Rhysand sighed.
“He could never deserve you, starlight. I will make sure that he never sees you again. I will not lose another sister.”
---
It wasn’t until midnight that you saw Azriel. The last of your brothers to approach you. He let himself into your room, waking you, tattered blanket draped around his shoulders. Rhys’ mother had sewn it for him years ago, before you had come to live with them. It had helped him through many hard nights. So much so that it was threadbare and faded. Rhys had enchanted it not to break further as a solstice gift one year.
You sat up worried.
“Az? Are you ok? You didn’t—”
“No,” He assured, and you relaxed against the pillows, “I’m ok.”
You shuffled over in your bed to make space for him, and he laid next to you, blanket over the both of you.
“I hate him.” He said into the darkness. “I hate what he did to Mor. I hate everything he stands for. I will not let him have you.” He declared.
You snuggled up to your eldest brother.
“I don’t know why you all seem convinced I’m going to somehow fall for this prick.” You said, and he snorted. “I hate him as much as you do.”
Azriel tucked you under his arm.
“I know.” You smiled tiredly, somehow understanding the words Azriel left unsaid. The words Rhys had been able to express. Azriel’s shadows settled over your heart, confirming, and the two of you fell asleep.
---
Months later, Eris sat in a tent, head between his legs to stop from throwing up. Thousands were dead. Thousands more were surely destined to die. Two of his brothers, and his mate, fought on the battlefield.
He only had a moments warning before he was violently sick into a bucket.
Asher, his youngest brother before Lucien, chose this moment to enter his tent unannounced, scowling at the sight of Eris hunched over and retching.
“Can’t handle the bloodshed, brother?” He teased, though he sat next to Eris and put a warm hand on his shoulder. The gaping wound on his neck was healing quickly, as it should with the High Lords power coursing through his veins, but the sight of it set Eris off again. He heaved into the bucket, choosing to ignore the gagging sound Asher made.
“Eris you need to pull yourself together. Father is only a tent over.”
Eris rolled his eyes.
“Just show me your plans, Ash.”
“I don’t know, maybe I’m better off keeping them to myself, seeing as you’re battlesick.” Asher grimaced when Eris finally sat up and pushed the bucket away from him.
“Asher.” Eris’ voice held all the command of General, and eldest brother. Asher groaned petulantly as he handed over the plans.
In Eris’ opinion, not that Beron took any heed, Asher should never have taken on as much responsibility in this war. After Ceres had died, Ash had taken over as Eris’ right hand. Ceres had been more naturally suited to the role, Beron’s bloodlust had run as deep as his bones, and he had a sharp mind for strategy. Eris still mourned the boy he had raised—a quick witted, chess loving, boisterous child—but he had to accept, he had lost Ceres long before he had died. And Eris wasn’t keen on losing anyone else. Asher wasn’t comfortable with a sword, the gash in his neck clear evidence, and he had a wife and child that weakened his resolve. This is what Eris had to work with. And he had a job to do.
He let Asher discuss his plans, though he was unable to rip his mind from providing a hundred different ways that he could die, that Ash or Lucien could die, that you could die.
It took every ounce of training ingrained in him not to falter in his attack the moment he had caught sight of you, fighting your way through the onslaught, Mor by your side. Cauldron, you were ethereal. Your silken wings were spread as if they could carry you into the air, though he had long since guessed that they could not. You cut through your enemies with a frightening ease. Catching his eye, you hesitated just a second, then your face had turned to rage and the next Hybern soldier to cross your path had been beheaded so brutally that even he had to avert his gaze.
When he had looked back up, you were gone, lost in the chaos.
Asher sighed,
“You’re not listening.” He said, and Eris had the decency to feel bad. He looked at Ash wearily.
“Come back in the morning. I’ll be more attentive.” Ash just peered at him over his notes.
“It’s her isn’t it. It’s Y/n.”
“Yes.” Eris said, lacking the energy to lie.
“She’s Night Court. She’s not one of us. One day you’ll find a nice Autumn girl to marry and when you’re High Lord she can pop out a few Autumn court babies.”
“She is my mate.” Eris growled.
“Mate’s aren’t always meant to be Eris. It’s only a biological match, not a political one. When you find an Autumn Court lady you’ll wonder why you ever spent time worrying over some Night Court harlot.” Eris snarled, despite himself. His brothers words were wrenched straight from Beron’s throat and he wouldn’t stand for it. Not from Asher. Not from his kind, loving Ash.
“Get out.” He said. Asher looked surprised, and—Eris was pleased to see—ashamed. He made no moves to leave, so Eris repeated himself, sharper this time.
“Get out.” He snapped, “Come back in the morning with more sense.”
Asher, chastised, fled from the tent, and Eris buried his head in his hands. What use was there protecting you from his brothers when it was certain your own said the same about him. There was no denying the cruel twist of fate the Mother had pulled on the both of you, destined to crash and burn. He imagined you in your own tent, laughing at the thought of him speared on another males sword. Mor sat next to you whispering all the terrible things he had done that day, terrible things to twist your mind and poison the very notion of him. He was too late, he was nothing but soot in the deep pit of your heart, choking the both of you.
He felt blindly for the bond, and found it, rotten.
---
The war was over, but the scars it had left were red raw and bleeding. Rhys had died. Your brother. The one who had sheltered you, loved you, given you a home and a family for a few agonising minutes had been gone. Gone. And yet that Cauldron damned bond had been chafing in the back of your mind. You sat in your bedroom riddled with guilt as it plagued your mind. Eris. Eris. Eris. He infested your mind, your senses, you were consumed by the very thought of him.
Walking through the streets of Velaris had started to feel claustrophobic, being around anyone beginning to suffocate you. You felt safer on your own. Recently you had taken to sheltering in your room, only emerging to eat. Your brothers eyed you with poorly concealed worry every time you walked, ghostlike, through the house, shuffling to the kitchen to fix a plate of leftovers then retreat hastily to your safe space.
Nesta was struggling too, after the war. It had left its scars in all of you. You could feel Cassian’s heart breaking the day Rhys sent her away with him, but all you could think about was whether your brother would do that to you. You thought you knew the looks he gave you.
Disgust.
What use was a flightless Illyrian female, who couldn’t train, couldn’t talk, couldn’t think. He was dead. Rhys was dead. And then he wasn’t. Why were Seren and your mother not afforded the same luxury. You grieved, and cried, and screamed. It truly was a sick thing, to use to the miracle of Rhys’ living to guilt yourself into believing there was hope for them. But then, everything in your mind had twisted of late.
Nesta began training. Nesta began healing. And you were stuck in your room.
Every morning without fail, Azriel came to check on you. He stroked your hair until you woke up, then retreated when you once again rejected his invitations to join them. The Valkyries, they were calling themselves. You would have been proud of Nesta if you could feel anything anymore.
Occasionally, you could feel a light tug on the bond, on the shackles that kept you bound to Eris. The first few times you had thrown up. Now it was little more than an annoyance. You were his dog, disobediently pulling your leash as you fell further and further into nothingness. His face in your mind was as cold as it had been on the battlefield as he yanked you back, choking you. You spluttered. Standing weakly, you made your way down to the kitchen, setting water on the stove to boil.
“Sister.” Cassian’s voice rang out behind you and you flinched, dropping your teaspoon. He bent to pick it up and set it down on the counter. “Azriel says you’ve been ignoring him. You’ve been ignoring all of us.”
You shrugged, the familiar pang of guilt squeezing your chest, making it difficult to breath. You braced both hands on the counter top, taking a ragged breath. Cassian was beside you in a heartbeat, holding you in his arms.
“Y/n, I’m worried about you. We all are.” He squeezed you closer to him, closer than you had allowed anyone in months. “Come and stay with Nes and I. Az is a terrible chaperone, and I need to see you. You could be wasting away down here and I wouldn’t know until it was too late.”
You shook your head, though you no longer knew why you resisted him. Your body melted against him, muscle memory taking over as he enveloped you in his wings. You swore you heard him sniffling as you hugged him back.
“Please, y/n.” He said, voice shaking. It didn’t take much more convincing.
A few days later, Rhys was helping you unpack your bags in your new room in the House of Wind. You took the room next to Azriel, who—Cassian had explained—was falling into bad habits again: Not eating, not sleeping, waking up in a cold sweat when he did finally drop off. Cassian wasn’t doing as well as he wanted you to believe, either. Twice in the following week you woke up to find him taking things from your room. And once, when you had floated downstairs in a miserable haze, you found him throwing up in the kitchen sink, an empty plate that had once held a batch of Elain’s cookies sitting on the table.
Nesta had dragged you to Valkyrie training a few times, and whilst you were beyond their current skill level, it had taken your mind off of things. Cassian’s eyes gleamed with pride everytime Nesta mastered an attack or a block. He touched her affectionately, he teased her, he lingered as she passed to breath in her scent. Watching them together was as painful as it was sweet. How simple love could be.
Would that you could be half as lucky.
Slowly you were emerging from your shell. You could smile again. Nesta invited you to read with her and the Valkyries, and in the silence you found firm friendship. Emerie was a gift from the Mother herself. You bonded instantly, both of you clipped, grounded, but neither broken. Many late nights were spent talking, about books, your brothers, or about Eris. Nesta, Emerie and Gwyn knew little of the Autumn prince, but you appreciated their outside perspective on the bond. It was still a bitter taste in your mouth, but it was becoming more bearable with each passing week.
---
There was a ball approaching in the Hewn City and Rhys had asked Nesta to attend. Not long after, she asked you to join her.
“I can’t do this alone, Y/n, please.” She said one night, sitting at the end of your bed. You bit your lip, unsure.
“Eris will be there.” You said.
“I’ll be the one dancing with him. Rhys wants him falling madly in love with me. He won’t look your way, I promise.” Nesta said. You knew she meant well by that. You had never wanted him anywhere near you before. But something about her oath left a sting. You frowned, which she took to mean you were still unconvinced.
“Please, Y/n. My sisters will be there, Rhys will be there. I’m not ready to face them all on my own, not yet.”
And so you found yourself stood atop the stairs the following week, draped in a black dress with a slit so high up one side your whole leg was practically exposed. The back scooped so low the dimples at the bottom of your spine peeked over top. You were devastating. Death in midnight silk. Rhys’ smile was that of pure brotherly pride as you walked down the steps, your hair pinned in braids and curls.
Nesta stole your breath away as she appeared in the hallway, but it wasn’t your gaze she sought out. You looked towards Cassian and could have sworn he was drooling. Eris would be blind-sided by her, of that you had no doubt.
In the Hewn City, they danced like lovers. Nesta as dangerous in the ballroom as she had become on the training grounds. Every move was calculated, every parting of her lips a dance of the mind, designed to ensnare Eris in her dastardly web. Eris was caught. And you burned.
Standing next to Azriel, heat rolled off you in waves. He took a step towards you, perhaps to offer you a drink, but found something in your eyes to make him change his mind. You hadn’t taken your eyes off of Eris all night. He was sinful. A courtier and a Prince. His hair pooled over his shoulders, one strand to the front neatly braided. You reminded yourself that this was the male that left your cousin for dead at his Court border. Biting your lip, your mind wandered to see yourself lying prone beneath him as he stood, smile widening, cock hardening in his—
“Get me a drink.” You ordered Az. He raised an eyebrow.
“What’s the magic word.”
“Azriel.” You growled, and he turned on his heel. Your eyes stayed pinned on Eris as he led Nesta across the dancefloor in a tantalizing waltz. His gaze finally met yours, and you saw a fraction of surprise before his emerald eyes darkened. He licked his lips, eyes locked with yours as he leaned down, and pressed a kiss to Nesta’s neck.
A/N: I have to thank @fandomsmultiverse for talking to me and giving me about 100 ideas to flesh this story out, I really hope you like it! There will be a part 2 coming soon! I wouldn't just leave you on a cliffhanger like that. We will see more of Eris and Reader interacting, and maybe.....some smut...

Hi, could I request a cod x male reader specifically one with an insecure Alejandro who thinks his boyfriend might be cheating on him with another colleague of his. I love the possessiveness trope lol
CHEATING?
navigation
genre: angst
characters: Alejandro Vargas
A/N: Lotta regret goin on here🐳

He is jealous, very jealous. He used to be a fuckboy, and he definitely had more than one girlfriend in the past. But with his choice of women, he got cheated on a lot. That is where his insecurity began to grow.
He thought about it and came to the conclusion that he better try it with a dude. And again, now, due to his personality, he got cheated on multiple times. He was frustrated and tired. He wanted to give up on dating anyone.
That was until he met you. You were different because of one thing. He approached the other people. You were the one to approach him. You hung out, had fun, and eventually, you got together. But this time, Alejandro really fell in love. With the other ones, he had them to have the relationship status. He finally understood what it meant to love somebody.
And with his came a little problem. His insecurity really started to shine through. He was scared. Scared you'd find someone better. All it took was your friend to look at you suggestively.
He was fuming. As soon as you got home, he started breaking shit. You tried to calm him down. You wanted to talk to him about it normally. He started accusing you, "Why would you do this to me?" "Alejandro, you really need to sit down and chill out for a while."
He started yelling at you. You tried defending yourself by yelling back. Unfortunately for you, he was the bigger one, so he was able to corner you rather quickly. His hand gestures made you flinch. He was always really expressive with his body language, but you never experienced this.
"Just calm down for a while. Nothing happened!" "WHACK"
Your world went quiet for a while as you fell to the ground. He just kept on yelling, not having a care in the world that you had a bloody nose. He really caught you off guard. You finally caught your breath. Instead of fighting him, you just let him yell it out.
When he was done with his yelling, you finally spoke. "She's a lesbian." A long silence filled the room. "We went to school together, and we used to make sexual jokes all the time." You got up and looked him in the eyes. "You are not the man who I fell in love with." Those words stabbed him like little daggers.
"Wait!" He tried to stop you as you began walking to your shared bedroom. You stopped in your tracks to hear him out. "I'm sorry for accusing you. I should've listened to you." Anger filled your bones, and with one fast move, you punched him in the jaw.
It didn't really phase him. He just looked at you in surprise. When you actually faced him, he saw how angry you were. And the blood on your face that was now staining your shirt. "You didn't even bother to apologise for this." His face showed his horrified expression.
He really didn't want to lose you. He dropped to his knees and begged you to stay. You pushed him away with your leg. It was more of a kick than a push. You were livid. "You first accused me of being unloyal, then you hurt me, and now, instead of saying you didn't want to hurt me, you said you didn't want to lose me."
You sat down and cried. "I thought I found the one." He looked at you as if he wanted to give you all the love in the world, but you wouldn't let him. Tears started forming in his own eyes. "Let me make this up to you."
You ignored him and stood up to get your things. He got up and grabbed your hand "Please!" You slapped his hand away. "I don't want to be with someone as ignorant as you."
All he wanted was to not lose you, but because of his actions, he did exactly the opposite. He fucked up.

Yandere! Vander x Reader
A request I got in DMs =~= It took a while to get to it, but here's the second story of the day! I got inspiration and knocked it out. I gotta head to work soon, but I hope y'all enjoy it!
Tw; swearing and yandere-typical behavior.
Word Count: 1,297
You didn’t think anything was wrong…at first. You were a good bit older than Vander’s kids, and they became like your own as well. They were a rowdy bunch, and you considered yourself just as much of a cool parent as Vander was. Although he could be much more strict than you. Never wanting the kids to “risk” their lives or legal action when going topside.
After a while, you began to go with them. Just in case things went awry. Vander wasn’t aware of it for a while, but when he found out he was livid. It was a side of him you rarely saw. Initially, you thought he was mad at you for taking the kids on a risky mission to help him afford their living expenses, but no. He was mad for something entirely different.
“The hell is wrong with you?” It wasn’t an angry yell, but rather a venomous mutter. “You’re risking your life for a few coins, don’t you know how dangerous that is?” He walked closer, and you stood your ground. You would defend those kids, and yourself against him. It wasn’t the first time, but it still made you anxious. But in your heart, you knew he’d never hurt you or those kids.
“How else are we gonna pay for everything? It’s not like running this place is cheap, we know you’ve been struggling with it.” As he walked towards you, his look became even more…unhinged. “We’re just trying to help, and I wouldn’t ever let those kids hurt at the cost of my own life.” You decided to play his game and take a step closer, but you were completely caught off guard by his next action.
He grabbed you, not roughly by any means, but enough to keep you in place. He was stronger than you, by far. You knew no matter how much you struggled he would only let you go when he allowed it. “That’s the whole problem. You baby them too much, they can take care of themselves. Especially Vi. She’s the oldest, she’ll make sure they don’t get hurt. You, on the other hand, are weak. Sensitive, and naive.” He leaned forward and his look turned softer. “You’re better off to stay here with me.”
You glared at him, and ended up trying to take a step back to get some space, but he didn’t let you. “Vander, they’re still kids. If you’re not going to go with them to make sure they’re safe then I will.” Your gaze almost faltered, but you tried to show your determination in that look. Even as you could see the wheels turning in his mind, you tried to show you were brave enough to stick up to him.
“No…no you won’t.” His voice was soft, and it was clear he came to a decision. Without another word from him, he dragged you to the basement of your home, where you stayed with him and the kids. “I figured something like this might happen eventually…” Despite your words of protest there would be no way to stop him with how strong he was.
The basement was a place no one was allowed, and only Vander had the key. Not that anyone could get in or out without help from several, with how big and heavy the door was. It was almost like a vault, and you and the kids had always thought it was a place where he kept the finds that wouldn’t sell, or a place with items of significant value to Vander. Even now…that might still be what it’s used for.
But those thoughts were halted when he opened the door to find a large room. A fridge, kitchen, bed, closet, and desk. “Vander…what is this?” You looked around the room, which was almost like its own home although in a single room and looked at him in confusion. He wasn’t…going to keep you here…right? “Vander?” He wasn’t answering, but his eyes looked full of resolve.
He thought long and hard about his words, and eventually dragged you to the bed and shoved you down. “Don’t worry…you’ll be safe here. No risk, no threats, any of it. You have everything you need. Food and water, a bed to sleep in, and most importantly…me.” He smiled softly, and eventually headed back to the door. “I’ll come see you every day, I promise. You’ll love it here. It’s not much, but it’s the best I have.”
He opened the door, and you screamed as you rushed at him. “Vander you bastard! Let me out of here!” As you swung, he turned around and grabbed your fist. His look was calculating, and you couldn’t make out what he was thinking. “The kids will know something is up! They won’t just let you trap me here like this!” It was the best defense you had, but he didn’t seem to care.
“People go missing in the lanes all the time. They’ll be sad you’re gone, but they’ll be okay. They’re tough kids.” He grabbed both your arms, preventing you from screaming again and said, “I can take care of them. Just as I can take care of you. I can even teach you to cook some of the dishes you like me to make for you.” He smiled for half a second before going to his usual cold expression.
“Vander you’re crazy! You can’t just keep me here like some sort of prisoner!” You kicked him, but he wasn’t phased. Within seconds, you were on the ground several feet away from the door. “LET ME OUT OF HERE!” You rushed at him once more, but he was already out of the door as you banged against it.
Within days, your will was nearly broken. He came in, talked to you and left. Every night. You became silent at some point, and simply did whatever he said. Ate when he told you to, slept when he told you to, anything. Hoping that eventually, he would let you see the kids again. He talked about them a lot, how they would still go topside to get some extra coins. How they missed you, but grew closer to them when they realized they could lose him too.
After several days, of which you lost count, you were completely broken. When he entered, your eyes were glazed over. He smiled, and touched your cheek. You didn’t even flinch anymore. He talked to you, or rather at you, but you couldn’t form words. Those kids…they missed you. You considered them your own. And Vander…you loved him. You did before, but did you now? It was hard to say.
Before he left, you walked up to him as he approached the door. The only words you could think to say, sat on your tongue as he looked back at you. This was the first time you’d willingly touched him without him prompting it. He turned, and smiled, but the smile was small when he heard your words…
“Vander…Please…Let me go.” Tears had fallen for days and days prior, there were none left for you to shed. Broken was the only word that seemed fitting of you. And even as he replied, you couldn’t find it in you to cry, or scream, or do anything, really.
“Not before…not now…not ever.” He turned and kissed the top of your head, and left.
This was your life now. Sitting alone, your only contact with another living soul being from the man you loved. In some form or another. He was all you needed…he was all you wanted. Sitting and waiting for him to come back, didn’t seem so bad. He loved you so much he couldn’t bear to let you go. And maybe…just maybe…
You didn’t want him to.

What’s a soulmate? Part 7
Part 7
Overview- part 2 of Ella’s birthday. She confronts Shane about his infidelity and finally gives herself a chance to explore her relationship with Negan.
Warnings- angst, cheating, swearing.
Notes/ I know Maggie and Beth have different mothers but for this sake they have the same. Also the age gap between them is gonna be closer.
After seeing the text that appeared on Shane’s phone, Ella was livid with him and herself. She had just agreed to get back with Shane after he’d promised he hadn’t been near anyone else in weeks but now she’d found out that he’d slept with someone the night before.
Tears puddled in the corners of her eyes- more from anger rather than sadness. She kept hold of his phone and waited for him to come back.
“So, I got your Arizona and picked up som— what’s up?” Shane spoke as he opened the car door and climbed in. Once he noticed that Ella was upset he stopped his train of thoughts. That’s when he noticed his phone in her hand. “Why do you have my phone? Were you snooping?” He went to grab the phone but Ella held it from his reach.
“I was sending myself the photos that the waitress took of us… you got a message.” Ella sniffled as she spoke, trying to contain her tears and anger, especially since Hazel was in the car. She held the phone up with the message thread up “thanks for last night, I had a really good time, I missed you being inside me.” She quoted the message aloud, putting emphasis on the words ‘last night’ and ‘inside’. Shane’s face dropped.
He’d been caught in a lie. He lent over to grab the phone but Ella’s quick reflexes pulled back, once again. “Then I got curious and decided to actually snoop, last Saturday, a message from Lori ‘last night shouldn’t have happened again. I’m married and you should sort things with Ella’ so you fucked me, told me you wanted to be with me and then fucked your best friends wife again.” she shouted and when he went to grab the phone again she threw it at him.
Shane grunted as the phone hit his chest. He was lost for words, he sat back and stayed in silence for a few minutes. “In my defence, Ella, we weren’t together, you made it clear that you didn’t wanna be with me so who I fucked and when I did it, has nothing to do with you.” His southern accent was strong when he was angry. It just pissed Ella off more knowing he was getting defensive about it instead of accepting what he did was wrong.
“It’s not the fact that you shagged someone Shane! It’s the fact that you literally promised me that you hadn’t slept with anyone, specifically Andrea, in weeks yet from that message you slept with her last night! When you had our daughter! And don’t fucking get me started on Lori! You and her deserve each other, you’re both lying pieces of shit!” She snapped at him. Tears rolling down her face as she unleashed her anger on him. “Today was all just a fucking guilt trip. I even started to question myself as to why I ever ended the relationship and this is fucking why.”
Shane gulped, his Adam’s apple bounced in his throat as he listened to what Ella had to say. “I planned today because I thought that the mother of my child deserved something nice. Some memories to show Hazel-grace when she was older!”
“Don’t you Hazel-Grace me! Don’t you dare use our daughter as an excuse to you being a man whore.” The fact that he used their daughter’s full name irritated her. Usually she’d feel special and happy about it as it was her mother’s name but when he used it at a time like this, it just irritated her more. “Just drive me to the hospital. I don’t even wanna talk to you right now.” She noticed her underwear sticking out from his pocket so she reached over and snatched them off him before he drove off and she managed to pull them back up.
The rest of the ride to the hospital was quiet. There was a few times where he went to speak but Ella would just turn the radio up louder.
When the yarrived at the hospital, Ella took no time to get out and go over to Hazels side so she could get her out of the car seat. Shane followed her out so he could help her get the pushchair out.
“Baby can we please just talk for a minute.” Shane sighed and rubbed her back as she lent over to put Hazel into the bassinet. She was quick to move her body from his touch. She really did not want him to touch her right now.
“There’s nothing to say anymore. You lied to me. Again! Congratulations Shane, you’ve broke my heart for the millionth time. I can’t belive I wanted to trust you again. At least I found out at the start now.” Ella was crying once again, this time it was definitely the sadness and heartbreak that engulfed her.
Shane frowned as he went to wipe away her tears but she immediately turned her head away from him. “Let me make it up to you, i promise, now that we’re officially back together, I won’t be doing that stuff again Ell. I’ll block Andrea and Lori, I’ll even tell Rick, just please Elly, don’t throw this away.”
Ella actually genuinely wanted them to work out this time, maybe it was more for Hazels sake then her own but them old feelings started to come back. The heartbreak stung more now than it did the first time. “What? Like you promised you hadn’t been near anyone else? That’s really fucking funny.” She let out a sarcastic laugh as she wiped her tears away. “You’re a shit boyfriend and a shit father for walking all over your child’s mother.” That wasn’t exactly true. Sure, he was a shit boyfriend, but he was actually surprisingly a good dad.
“You don’t mean that Ella. Come on, let’s talk about this when I pick you guys back up. We can go home and talk it out, you can scream at me, hit me, whatever just please baby, let me prove it to you.” Shane stepped closer to Ella with his arm reached out to curl under her chin.
“It’s over Shane. For good… y’know.. i actually had a date planned tonight. A first real actual date and I cancelled it because I thought I wanted to be with you. I had a bad case of delulu…. I’ll text you when to pick Hazel up. I’ll grab a cab home.” Before Ella went to walk off, she went to the trunk of the car to pull out the photo of her, her mother and Hazel. That’s all she wanted and the shirt. “You can keep the rest. I just want the shirt and photo. You can give the other stuff to Andrea or Lori.” She added the sly dig in as she made her way over to the hospital entrance with hazel in her pushchair.
On the way up to her father’s room, she checked her phone to see that Negan had replied. She’d wished she never cancelled on him now, especially with his sweet reply.
‘Oh no babe, I hope you’re okay. Want me to bring you some soup or something? I make a decent chicken soup.’
Shane would never do anything like that if he said she was feeling poorly. She took a deep breath and sent him another text.
‘That’s really sweet Negan, I’m feeling a lot better, so if you’ve not already made new plans, I’d love to still go out with you.’
Opening the door to her father’s room, she noticed that there were a few happy birthday banners and a big helium balloon in the room. That immediately made her feel better. As she made her way further into the room, she saw her 2 sisters sitting beside their father, all wearing party hats.
“Surprise!” All three of them said at the same time. Today was full of surprises, she hadn’t expected any of this, especially her sisters to see her too. In all honesty, she was glad they were there, she could have done with some sisterly advice now.
“You guys… this is so unexpected, thank you.” Ella was really grateful for there effort. The decorations were probably her middle sister’s, Beth’s, idea. She was definitely the more creative one of her elder sisters, kinder too.
Maggie was the eldest, she was a little bit more firm and serious, truth be told, she was the one that Ella was jealous of the most. Their father’s first child.
“Happy birthday Elly elephant.” Hershel, her father, spoke out with his raspy voice. He was sitting in his chair wearing a white button down shirt with suspenders and black slacks. It was nice to see him actually dressed instead of just in some pyjamas.
Ella walked over to give her father a soft comforting hug, being careful not to get in the way of any medical machines. “Thank you daddy, how you feeling?”
“Better now that all my girls and my granddaughters with me.” Hershel was always an active father, he tried so hard to make sure all his girls were included, especially in the last few years since they moved back to the states.
“Happy birthday sis” Bethany was the first of her sisters to approach and give her a hug. Beth was only 3 years older than Ella so they’d always naturally been closer
Maggie was already over seeing to Hazel. “Look at your top, you match your mama.” She spoke to her niece noticing their matching tops. “That’s adorable Ella, where did you get them from?” Maggie had a very thick southern accent. Very stereotypical farm girl.
“Shane got them made actually… it was a cute gesture I suppose.” Ella felt awkward talking about Shane. Her sisters knew what he did to her in the past so naturally they were very protective about their baby sister.
Maggie scoffed as she sat down with Hazel on one of the couches that was in their father’s hospital room. “Couldn’t imagine he had a matching one?”
“God no, could you imagine.” Ella laughed with her sisters. Over the past year or two, since their father first found out he was sick, the jealousy she once had for her sisters had actually faded. They all needed to focus on her father’s recovery rather than being at each other. Ella sat down next to Maggie and Beth sat beside her.
“Happy birthday little sis… now you can legally drink instead of giving daddy a heart attack every time you came home” Maggie nudged her playfully as she teased her. Their father, although very kind hearted, was quite strict. Ella’s mother on the hand, she was very laid back, so Ella ended up getting away with quite a lot. When she moved to the states with her father, she continued to play up and do things against his wishes. He was an alcoholic at one point so he never agreed with his daughter’s drinking. Especially Ella, his youngest and last daughter.
Ella snickered a little as she relaxed in the chair. She’d hoped her father would get better soon so she could have more memories like this with her father, sisters and daughter. “I don’t think daddy would ever approve of our drinking… we’re still daddy’s little girls in his eyes.”
Beth took Hazel from Maggie so that she could interact with her. Hazel was excited to have all of the attention, she was laughing and babbling to the interactions.
Hershel’s thick laughter filled the room, she hadn’t seen him this happy since Hazel was born. “Yous certainly are… now someone bring me my grandbaby,”
Beth carefully handed Hazel to Hershel. Hazel smiled brightly in her granddads arms. When Hershel found out that Ella was pregnant he really wasn’t happy, he was a very religious man and believed that to have a child you should be married. She was a 19 year old, not married and with a man who was a lot older than her. But eventually he came around to the idea. That was the thing about Hershel, he would give his opinion on things but he’d still support your wishes.
“She’s gonna need a bottle soon, she’s had some fruit this morning, it was absolutely everywhere.” Ella chuckled whilst she looked through the bag for Hazels bottle of milk.
“I’ll feed her, I’ve missed my little pumpkin’” Hershel held his hand out for the bottle and adjusted Hazel in his arms. Ella gave him a concerned look, she knew he was capable of giving a baby a bottle but she didn’t want him to hurt himself or do too much.
“Are you sure dad? I don’t mind feeding her or I’m sure Maggie or Beth would love to feed her too?” Ella sat down on the edge of his seat with the bottle in her hand. Hershel took the bottle and started feeding hazel.
“I know you three mean well, but I’m not a fragile fossil, I can feed my granddaughter.”
“We know daddy, we’re just worried about you, that’s all.” Maggie spoke out from the other side of the room, it was clear that her sisters were both feeling the same way that Ella was.
“I have an idea.” Beth stood up and made her way over to her bag and pulled out her phone. “How about, we get a group photo and we can all get shirts like Ells and Hazel-Graces for when it’s Hazel’s birthday! That would be fun wouldn’t it” see, the creative one. She always had the best ideas.
“I think that would be great Beth, lll go ask one of the nurses if they could come and take the photo.” Ella smiled. She really did like the idea, it would be a memory for Hazel to have and herself really. She made her way out of the room to go to the nurses station. Her mind was still crowded with everything that happened that morning with shane. One of the nurses volunteered to take the photo in a few minutes when she was done with her paper work. As Ella went to walk into the room, Maggie stepped out with Ella’s phone in her hand.
“Hey sis, Shane keeps buzzing your phone out, I thought maybe it’s important so I bought it out here.” Maggie had one of them fake half smiles on her face that people did when they were actually kinda worried. Ella sighed as she took the phone and looked through the multiple messages and missed calls from Shane. “Is everything okay with you two? He’s not still harassing you is he?”
Once again, tears filled in the corner of Ella’s eyes. She didn’t want to cry again, especially not while she was enjoying her time with her family.
“Elly what’s going on?” Maggie comfortingly wrapped her arms around her sister. Big sister mode was activated and she really appreciated it. Ella hugged her sister for a few seconds as she tried to gather herself.
“He lied to me.. again. He’s been trying to hard to get back with me and after he set up an amazing surprise and got me the most thoughtful gift and I stupidly agreeed to get back with him, but he promised me that he hadn’t been around Andrea in weeks… then on the way over here I see a message from her .. they slept together last night, and I know we weren’t together until today, but he lied to me, Mag.. he promised.” Ella left out a few details, especially the touching her on the way over here. But that was the basic rundown of events. She also left the details about Lori out. Her sisters knew he’d cheated on her, but they never knew it was with Lori first.
Maggie cupped Ella’s face in her hands, using her thumbs to wipe away the tears from her blushed cheeks “oh sweetheart, he’s never worth your tears, you know there’s so many guys out there that wanna date you. Look at you, you’re beautiful, you’re an amazing person and that British accent of yours, always hits it off.” She gave Ella a playful wink and they both laughed a little. Talking to Maggie really did help. “Now let’s get that photo for your little girls future birthday shirts.”
Ella nodded as Maggie tried to fix up her tear stained face before going into the room.
“A nurse is gonna come around and take the photo soon.” Ella smiled when she saw her father playing with Hazel.
Soon after, the nurse came in to take the group photos. They were perfect, hazel was always smiling which made the photos even better. They spent the last bit of time they had together, laughing, talking and eating the cake that Beth had baked for Ella’s birthday. When it was time to say bye, Maggie gave her another big supportive hug and some words of wisdom.
Heading out of the hospital, Shane was stood leaning against his car in the pick up lane. Ella took a deep breath before she made her way over to him. “She’s had a bottle, been changed and even had a bit of cake, she will probably fall asleep on the way home.” She didn’t hesitate with her words, she just wanted to get it over and done with before he made it a big thing.
“Ella can we plea—“
“No… no we can’t talk, no we can’t work on us, no we can’t get back together. You lied. Again.” Before he could finish his sentence, Ella cut him off. It was an emotional evening. She was trying not to get emotional over the situation but the truth was she was still really hurt and Shane could tell. Their relationship had ended before it really started, it didn’t help that today would have been their anniversary.
Maggie pulled up next to Shane’s car and rolled down her window. It was a tense moment Ella was a little scared of what Maggie would say to Shane. “Hey sis, you still need that ride?” Thank god, big sis to the rescue.
Shane shot Maggie an evil glance, truth be told, he wasn’t Maggies biggest fan either. Although Ella and Maggie weren’t very close, she had gave Shane a big lecture when he cheated on Ella. In all honesty, Maggie was never a big fan of Shane from the start. Ella actually thought Maggie was being really unfair to Shane when they’d first met each other.
“Yeah… thanks.” Ella gave her a half smile before she pressed a loving kiss against her daughter’s forehead “bye baby girl. I love you.” As Ella went to walk away, Shane reached out for her wrist and tried to pull her forward.
“Ella come on it’s not like we were together… I shouldn’t have lied you’re right but look, you came back to me. We’re meant to be together.” Shane pleaded. He was so manipulative, how were they meant to be together, if anything this has pushed them away from each other.
“No we’re not Shane.” Ella let out a hesitant laugh, she thought he was ridiculous. If he really thought that and cared about her so much then he would never have cheated on her or said the things he did. “You’re a liar, you’re a cheat and I hate you.” She pulled her arm from his grasp and made her way around to the passenger side of her sisters car.
“You’ll never find anyone better than me Ella. No one will wanna be with you.” Shane spat the hurtful words. She was used to it by now, little did he know, someone already did want her.
Ella simply shrugged, her blood was boiling but the worst thing for her to do right now was to react nastily back to him, it would only get worse. “See that’s funny… because I’m going on a date later… and he’s great. A lot better than you.” Oh the look on his face was brilliant. He looked like he’d just been punched in the balls.
Before he could say anything, she was already in the car. “That must sting Shane. Now you know how my sister felt.” Maggie couldn’t help but push a sly comment in as she drove away from the hospital parking lot. “Honestly sis, I don’t know how you do it. I would have punched him a long time ago if he spoke to me like that.”
“Oh I did. Last Sunday actually, made a pretty nasty comment about me. I just saw red, punched him right in the nose, that’s what the bruising around his face is” Ella thought back to that day and with the events of what happened earlier, she’s glad that she ended up punching him. He was lucky that he didn’t get a punch today for what he had done to her.
Maggie was gobsmacked, would she ever think her little sister would punch the man she had thought so much for? Never. Was she proud of her? Extremely. Maggie didn’t even need to know what he said for the reasoning either. If Ella went as far as to cause markable harm on that man’s face, it must have been bad. “Ella Greene, who are you?” She let out a shocked laugh, Ella joined in with the laughs.
During the drive to the apartment, the girls talked about random stuff to do with Hazel and of course about the new man in Ella’s life. Negan had text Ella back letting her know that he was really happy that she was feeling better and that he’s excited for their first official date.
Ella took her time getting ready for the date. It had been a while since she was able to just sit and focus on getting all dolled up; especially for a date.
Her makeup was very different than usual, full glam with a glossy finish, a brown Smokey eye with a shimmer of gold spread across her eyelids, bronzed skin with a light gold shimmer against her cheek bones, all tied together with a red lip. Her hair was placed in a messy bun with a few strands of hair, falling perfectly against her face. The perfume of choice was DKNY women, a sweet blood orange, yellow waterlillies and white birch scent that would last all night. Gold and white floral earrings with her new locket necklace from Rosita tied the whole look together. Then of course the main event, the red corset dress that pulled her body into the perfect hourglass shape and hid the ‘mom tum’ she was so desperate to hide. Before she left she added on a classic black stiletto and a black clutch bag.
When she received the ‘on the way’ text, Ella decided to make her way down to the lobby and wait for Negan. All of a sudden her nerves crept up. Why was she nervous? She’d already been out with this guy several times and spoke to him all the time? Was it because technically a few hours ago she was in a relationship and now she’s not? Was it because it was her first offical date?
The sound of a horn was heard, causing Ella to slightly jump as she came out of her daydreaming. When she made her way out, Negan was stood leaning against the passenger side of the door, smoking a cigarette. He was dressed in black slacks and a white shirt that had the first two or three buttons undone. His hair was perfectly gelled back and his beard was tidy.
Butterflies surrounded Ella’s stomach at the sight of him. He really did dress to impress. “Look at you.” She bit down into her bottom lip as her heels clicked against the floor whilst she walked toward him. “Did you dress up just for me?” Her hand raised to point the finger at herself with a smirk painted on her face.
Negan’s deep chuckle filled her ears. He nodded slightly as he flicked out the rest of his cigarette so he could pay more attention to the beautiful women in front of him. “Oh did you not get the message? I’ve got a line of girls wanting to see me dressed like this, you’ve just got the privilege of being the first to see… you on the other hand… you look fucking smokin’ darlin’” he pressed a soft kiss against her cheek, carful enough to not disrupt the makeup on her skin.
“Lucky me hey… and I don’t look that great, it’s been over a year since I’ve been able to actually get dressed up probably. I haven’t done my makeup like this in god knows how long so it probably looks a mess and my hair, don’t get me started on my ha—“ she was cut off by Negan’s finger pressing against her lips. His laugh and shake of his head made her realise she was rambling on.
“Just accept the compliment Sunshine,” Negan removed his finger and chuckled. He opened the door for her and nodded toward it. “Don’t wanna be late, I’ve got a full night planned for us.”
Ella was still coming to terms with the fact that she would not have any say in tonight’s plans. The only thing she wanted control over was ordering a nice glass of wine for the first time. Sure, last night she was drinking at the bar after her shift but the drinks she had were all bought by other people.“Can you at least give me a hint to where we’re going?”
A simple headshake was her response before Negan closed the car door and entered the drivers seat. “You don’t do well with surprises do you sunshine?”
“I just like to know what situations I’m getting myself into… that’s all.” Deep down, Ella was a slight control freak. She needed to know every detail about a new place, the type of people, the pricing, even the menus dos and don’ts.
Negan’s hand reached over to rest against Ella’s thigh, giving it a supportive squeeze, “lighten up darlin’, do you trust me?”
Surprisingly, she did. She trusted him a lot, the way they’d gotten to know each other over the last week or so has actually been really good and beneficial. “Well I guess… you haven’t given me a reason not to yet.”
*****
“Negan…This place… I really don’t fit in here.. the prices, well they’re a whole new level” A nervous laugh fell from Ella’s throat as they sat down at their table.
The restaurant was a 5 star Michelin restaurant situated in the city. It was known for the celebrity hot stop and the prices were almost just as much as her weekly wage. There were chandeliers that hung low and high, scattered across the high ceilings, marble printed tables paired with a classic black fabric chairs that were actually really comfortable. The lights were dimmed and flickers of flames danced around the room from the candles that were placed on the center of each table.
“Ella, you definitely look like you fit in here. This is my treat, order whatever you want okay?” Negan’s arm was stretched over the table to rest his hand against hers. Comfortingly, his thumb swept back and forth against the back of her hand. “Pick what you want to drink, they have mock-tails which are really good.”
Instead of responding, she answered with a simple nod. As she scanned through the drinks menu her eyes widened at the price of their wines. Even their house wine was racking in at a whopping $18 per glass. “Are you sure you wanna stay here… this is a lot.” A nervous laugh escaped her lips.
Although Negan said this was his treat, she couldn’t help but be respectful in terms of what she was going to order.
The cocktail menu was ranging from $20-$30 per drink. For that she’d like to think it came with a golden decoration or something.
“Ella… like I said, order what you want, this is my treat. Money comes and goes, memories stick.” Negan answered with a shrug of his shoulder, closing the menu and leaning back in his chair.
Scanning the menu once more, she decided she wanted to go for a classic white wine- even if the cheapest glass was $18. As the waitress made her way over, Negan’s eyes met with Ella’s once she looked up from her menu. “So, what will it be, sunshine?”
“I’ll have the glass of Sauvignon Blanc please,” Ella closed the menu, setting it down beside her. Heat rushed to Negan’s face as he heard her order. He never knew it was her birthday so he was quite surprised that she had the lady balls to order a drink.
“I’m sorry Miss, do you have any ID on you?” The waitress glanced from Negan to Ella.
Ella reached into her clutch bag and pulled out her Driving licence to pass it over to the waitress.
“Thank you Miss, so one glass of Sauvignon blanc and for you sir?” Her attention moved to Negan.
“Gin, double please.” Negan nodded towards the waitress. She reconfirmed their orders before walking off to the bar area. “Your ex boyfriend is a cop and you’ve got a fake? Let me see that” he said in a quiet tone, his body practically leaning across the table.
Ella couldn’t help but smirk, this was the moment he would find out it was her birthday “not a fake, see… Ella Jane Greene, dob 07.20.04” she passed over the id. Negan’s face dropped from the smirking impressed look to the why did I not know this look.
“It’s your birthday? And you didn’t tell me? Now you’re definitely getting whatever you want” Negan laughed nervously as he passed the id back over toward Ella.
She just nodded and slipped the id back into her bag before getting comfortable, “it is, big 21 today… I’ve never really cared for birthdays since my mum died” Ella’s mum would always make sure she had the best birthdays. She’d set up A big balloon display with all of her presents and made sure that the whole week was celebrated. “ I spent the morning with Hazel and then went to the hospital to see my dad and my sisters threw me a little surprise get together my sister Beth baked her famous red velvet cake so it was nice and then of course ending the night with you.”
“ I wish you would’ve told me it was your birthday. I could’ve at least got you a little something. You’re full of surprises aren’t you sunshine?” Negan bit into his bottom lip softly, Ella looked absolutely stunning tonight, she was naturally pretty as she was, but something about her all glammed up just made him want her more.
The waitress came over with their drinks, placing them in front of them. “ do you guys know what you want for food yet?”
“ I’ll take the tomahawk steak with fries and asparagus, please, medium rare.” Ella smiled, she was feeling a lot more confident now, even with the meal being $110.
“I’m gonna go for the steak lobster with the baby potatoes and green beans. Thanks.” After they’d finished ordering then sat and talked about things that had happened this week.
Ella knew she needed to tell Negan about Shane but part of her didn’t want to ruin the moment. She knew that her forgiving Shane was most likely because of the nice things he had done but then she let him touch her, that… that she couldn’t explain in rational terms. But what he didn’t know couldn’t kill him right?
Once their meals came they ate up the amazing food. Negan made the right choice picking here. She definitely wouldn’t want to come here all the time but once in a blue moon was fine.
Ella lent back on her chair and rested her hands over her stomach “that was one of the best meals I’ve ever had.” Bringing her wine glass up to her lips, she swallowed down the rest. At this point Negan had ordered the full bottle of wine as Ella had practically downed the first glass.
Negan let a little laugh slip from his lips before nodding in agreement, “even better than the diners club sandwich?” He winked with a smirk painted on his face.
“Now, now, I said one of the best, nothing will ever be as good as that sandwich.” Ella adjusted herself on the seat. The table was clear and they were now just finishing off their drinks and talking. Negan only had one alcoholic drink due to driving which meant Ella was the only one drinking… and fast.
She poured the last of the wine into her glass and took a little sip before the waitress walked out with a small desert with sparklers sticking out, singing happy birthday.
Embarrassment flushed Ella’s cheeks, she was not expecting this, especially in such a high end restaurant.
Negan joined in with the singing, teasing her with a wink. She shook her head as she glared at him, knowing that he most likely set this up for her. Once the song came to an end, the whole restaurant clapped and cheered. “Thank you, I didn’t expect this.” She laughed nervously. The plate was decorated with chocolate sauce saying ‘happy birthday’ and a few flowers added to the plate.
“Trust me, if you pre warned me about your birthday there would be a much bigger surprise.” Negan winked. He pulled his phone out and pointed it at his date “say cheese,”
“Cheeseee” Ella laughed as she played along. She was definitely tipsy, nearly at the drunk mode.
“You look fucking beautiful.” Negan shown her the pictures he had snapped, he managed to get a nice one of her smiling and one of her laughing and looking genuinely happy.
“I think that may be my new insta photo, what do you think?” She comments when he shows her one that she looks ridiculous on. She takes a spoon full of the chocolate cream cake in-front of her and it instantly melts in her mouth “omg, this is amazing”
she put some on the spoon for Negan and fed him it. “Wow, that is incredible.” Negan looked down at his watch while eating the desert. “I’m gonna go pay the bill, you finish up your wine, we’ve got somewhere to be.”
Ella took no time to finish off her wine and collect her things together once negan came back from paying the bill. Truth wise she didn’t even want to see how much the bill was.
Once they were out the restaurant they headed back to his car and started driving away from the restaurant. He still wouldn’t tell her the plans that he had for them, but strangely she trusted him a lot.
As they drove, Ella started to notice that they were very close to Demimonde. Confirmed when they pulled into the small parking lot next to the bar.
“ what are we doing at Demimonde?” Ella laughed nervously as they unbuckled their belts.
“I thought it would be nice to have a few drinks in a familiar place before you branch out.” Negan bit the inside of his lip nervously. before he could say anything else, he climbed out the car and walked around to the passenger side door. Ella climbed out and stumbled slightly, she was definitely more than tipsy. “Easy Sunshine.” Negan laughed ans held onto her. “Let’s go find a seat”
As they had it into the bar, it was surrounded with Ella‘s friends and family, including her other best friend princess who she hadn’t seen in a good few months. in reality Negan and actually knew it was her birthday. Ella’s best friend Rosita had actually told him that it was her birthday and she needed his help to keep her distracted so the bar could throw her a surprise party. “Surprise!” Everyone shouted and a few confetti cannons went off.
“What’s going on…” Ella laughed nervously as she took in her surroundings before looking back up at Negan. “You were in on this… weren’t you?”
A soft laugh and nod of the head came from Negan, “yup, sorry sunshine, I already knew it was your birthday… and I did get you a gift, it’s just in the car.” He gave her a wink before her friends came over.
“ELLAAA” Princess shouted as she ran into her friends arms. “I’ve missed you so much, happy birthday bitch.” Princess was very like Rosita but a lot louder and less socially aware. She moved to the next town over a few months ago to pursue her relationship with her boyfriend Micheal mercer.
“ princess, I can’t believe you’re here! You guys this surprise is amazing, you didn’t have to do any of this.” Ella spoke out to the friends that were surrounding her.
“ you deserve this El, you deserve a lot more, but this is the best that we could do. So get them dancing shoes on and say RIP to your liver.” Rosita gave Ella a warming hug. Ella felt so blessed to have so many people around her. “Oh and your sisters are here, Glenn seems to have taken an interest in Maggie.” Rosita gestured to where Maggie and Glenn were talking, surprisingly she seemed to be enjoying his company.
“You managed to get my sisters here? Where’s Beth?” Ella looked around the room and clocked her talking to Daryl. Daryl was actually smiling, like a real happy smile. “Is he… he’s smiling.”
Rosita and Ella both laughed as they realised their bosses tough guy persona was slipping.
“I’m technically still working so I’m gonna head of but I’ll see you later, and Daryl has made it clear that I can’t charge you for your drinks tonight” Rosita laughed as she walked backward toward the bar.
Princess stood with her arms crossed and a smirk on her face as she eyed up Negan.
Negan on the other hand kinda looked terrified. He seemed tense and had his hands in his pockets awkwardly. Especially once he caught a glimpse of her boyfriend, mercer, who was pretty much the some height as Negan but his frame was almost double of his.
Ella stepped beside Negan and gave Princess a raised brow, “princess, you do realise your boyfriend is stood right next to you while you’re eyeing up Negan?”
“I’m just tryna take the new man in your life in.. seeing if there’s any bad vibes, I was right about Shane.. but I think we’re all good here” princess said with a shrug of her shoulders. Followed by a wink and a whisper “Plus he’s really hot”
Ella appreciated that her friends were so protective of her, it was a nice thing to see. But Princess could also be very intimidating at times so she’s glad she stepped in when she did, “that’s good to know princess. Thank you for your humble opinion.”
“I’m gonna go grab us all drinks,” Princess gave Ella one last hug before tugging her boyfriend to the bar.
Ella turned to stand infront of Negan . Looking up into his deep hazel eyes. “I can’t believe you knew all along. You could be an actor if baseball doesn’t work out.” She laughed a little as he rolled his eyes.
“If baseball some how doesn’t work out I wanna be a gym teacher.” He wrapped his arms around Ella, pulling her close to his body.
“Mr smith” Ella rested her arms around his neck and smirked. “I like it… I’m gonna go say hi to everyone. See you soon?”
“Of course.” He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before she headed off.
Ella spent some time greeting and thanking everyone who came to celebrate her birthday with her. Several people had bought her drinks so she was very drunk.
A few of Negan’s friends had joined the party so she didn’t feel too bad about leaving him.
Maggie and Glenn seemed to be getting very close, she was actually laughing at him. A real laugh, not a fake one that most people had to play out.
“Hey guys, Glenn, could I steal my sister away for a sec?” Ella smiled softly as she tried to politely interrupt their conversation.
“Y-yeah of course… happy birthday Ell.” Glenn stood up to give Ella an awkward hug.
Ella and Maggie headed outside into the bars patio area so that they could talk privately.
There was only a few people out back, smoking and chatting. Before Ella had approached Maggie, she’d grabbed them both a drink each.
“here… whisky neat if i remember correctly?” Ella handed the glass over. Maggie wasn’t a big drinker, but at special events she’d noticed that her drink of choice was a whisky.
Taking a sip of the drink, Maggie lowered the cup onto the bench table that they were sat on. “Yeah, thanks.. are you havin a nice birthday?”
“Yeah this is great… thank you for coming, I wouldn’t have expected you to come… Infact I’m more shocked that Beth didn’t slip up and tell me about this, she can’t hold her own piss half the time.” Both the girls laughed. Beth wasn’t one for keeping secrets, she was the stereotypical, over excited farm girl that had minimal interaction with the outside world.
“Oh she nearly did, I think maybe you were so distracted in the whole getting back with Shane situation that you didn’t notice me jabbing her arm when she almost slipped.” Maggie playfully nudged Ella with a slight smirk. “How you feelin now?”
Ella knew she felt a lot better. How could she not? She’d had a date with an amazing guy, was absolutely spoiled and then came into a surprise party that he helped pull together. But part of her still had an ache in her heart. was it guilt? Was it regret? Heart break? “Honestly? I don’t know, I love Shane, so much. But it hurts more to be with him than it does apart. I should have never agreed to get back with him this mor—“
“You’re back with Shane?” Negan’s words cut through her like an iron blade. He must have came out without them hearing. How long was he stood there.
She quickly stood up to face him, feeling slightly dizzy as she did. “Negan.. no.. look I can explain” her words slurred. Shed created a complete mess now and she was the only one who could clear it up.

Work song
wc: 2.7k
series masterlist ⭑ co-creator @memoiich
Entering the office took years off your life. Not only were you tired you were now sweaty and flustered. Moving past the old lady at the front desk you made your way to the elevator. If your day couldn’t get any worse it just did. The elevator wouldn’t open when you pushed the button so you asked the lady at the front desk and she said in a monotone voice “the elevator doesn't work, miss”. You were ready to cry but held it together, went back to the hall and looked around until you saw a big mat green door with a sign “stairs'' so you ran up at 120 km an hour just to get to the office still 2 hours overdue ,swinging the door open completely.
Out of breath you were greeted with the secretary desk and the angry man standing in front of it. Mr Rex, your brain told you quickly. You recognised him from the flyer, he was wearing a blue suit with a matching tie and three gold clips, and well, his face was livid. Pure anger radiated from him “Do you know what this is?” he questioned gesturing to the desk behind it “this is the desk you should have been sitting at by 9 this morning“, “I'm so sorry sir I-“ “I don't need your excuses I need a explanation“ at this point more and more gazes fell on you, “My car broke down mid way, I had to walk the rest of the way here, it took me 30 min, i'm so sorry sir” he let a sign escape past his hardened facade and he spoke way calmer now “well why don't you get to work then, and if you have any questions ask someone other than me, do you understand?“, “yes sir.” The army would have been proud of you. “Just call me Rex” but Rex clearly wasn’t. He walked away from you back to his office and you settled behind your new desk.
You had come from a branch in your hometown so the work wasn’t hard to adjust to. Reading emails, forwarding emails, getting the planning in check. Rex was a busy guy and it was clear that he hadn’t had a secretary in a few weeks, So it took some time to get it all in check, at least an hour…or 3. It also was taking an extra long to finish because you were very very very tired. Your eyes were closing as if they were shutters, then open, then closed, until a hand waved in front of your face. The hand snapped you out of it pretty quickly and you finally heard a voice.
“Hello there, didn’t mean to intrude but you look …sleepy” you looked at the man. He had to be in his late 20’s dressed with a kind smile and matching gentle blue-greenish eyes. Your gaze must have stayed pretty long because he chuckled and handed you a cup. Taking the cup you looked back at him “don’t worry it's just coffee, my name's Obi wan Kenobi, I work over there” he pointed over his shoulder at the now empty desk in front of you. You must have been really tired because you would have noticed the handsome man not 3 metres in front of you. "I'm y/n, I work here now” you pointed at the desk below you “I noticed, you made quite an entrance” he said holding back a snort. “Well yeah, my car broke down and this arrogant mechanic left me at the side of the street and then I had to walk and it's like 50 min at least and then yesterday my neighbour just…” he cuts you off. “Do you have a ride home?” Obi wan asked you partly to stop the word flow. Not having thought that you answered “No, I don't”, “Well Qui Gon and I carpool” he pointed at an older friendly looking gentleman with well kept hair that reached his mid back at the left end of the office, who waved at the two of you. You waved back smiling “ If you wanted to we could give you a lift” he followed up. “I would love that”.
Rex's office door flung open. ”That's my sign to go!” Obi wan said while turning on his heel. Rex walked over to you “Do you have my plans for next week?”, “Yeah it's right here, I planned the meeting with HQ on Wednesday instead of Monday because bail organa is visiting Monday”. “Bail visits quite often so you don't have to worry about his meetings, just make sure to tell Obi wan ”, “Do you want me to move HQ back to Monday?”, “No, I don't need to see fives just yet”. “Okay then this is the final planning”, you say as you hand him the sheet of paper. “That’s perfect, you've been working for a few hours now, why don't you take a break” he said and walked straight back to his office.
Then it dawned on you that you definitely didn’t know the layout of this office at all. After the morning you kind of just sat down and did your job. You looked around confused when Obi wan raised his hand and pointed to a brown door with a little window. While walking to it you looked only to be greeted by the second shit-eating smirk of the day. It also looked strangely familiar. Weird...
You opened the small door and were greeted with the sight of 2 vending machines, a little kitchen and 4 tables that seated four. At one of those tables sat Mr. Jinn eating a fruit bowl and sipping a glass of jawa juice. He waved you over, though it was more of a swipe of the hand than a wave. Sitting in front of him you could now see that he must have been closer to his 40s than his 30s. ”You’re y/n aren't you?” he said, more of a statement rather than a question “Yeah that’s me”. Before you could question why he was so confident in his guess, He answered, “Obi wan told me you would carpool with us” he finished it off with a smile that made the crows feet beneath his eyes appear. “only if it's not a bother of course”, “It’s definitely not a bother, you look like a decent person plus even a indecent person wouldn’t be a bother if they need the help”. You weren’t used to your coworkers being ...well nice . At your last job there was an intern named Axel who couldn’t catch a hint if it gave him a head start. ”Thank you Mr Jinn''. “Just Qui Gon is fine”. Qui Gon had gone back to munching on his fruit bowl, so you had followed his example and started eating your late lunch. It was quite peaceful. Qui Gon was one of those rare people who understood and respected universal silence, without fidgeting under its pressure. But that beloved silence was broken when 3 men stumbled through the door.
One of them was Mr Kenobi but the other 2 you only noticed in the office. The first one sat across from Mr Kenobi. He was a Kiffar and had a golden line across his nose right under his eyes. He was doubled over laughing while holding on to the second man. And a green Nautolan who was laughing even louder than the last. The only one that wasn’t laughing was Mr.Kenobi. He was wearing a sour expression and a noticeable blush covering his face. “Wanna carpool” the Kiffar yelled and bumped his hip with Mr.Kenobi's.
You looked over to Qui Gon who had a ‘disappointed father’ look. He let out a fake cough “uh hum“ at the pure sound of it, the 3 of them looked your way. Fear was the only way to describe the look upon their faces. The Kiffar was the first to snap out of it, “Hey i’m Quinlan Vos and this is Kit Fisto” he pointed to the green Nautolan on his left. ”And this one you already know” he finishes while grabbing Mr.Kenobi by the shoulder. “It's nice to meet the both of you” they both shook your hand.” Mr kenobi i had to tell you that Monday Mr. Organa is visiting” you remembered “Yeah Mr. Kenobi you have a meeting Monday” Quinlan responded with a odd tone to his voice. Mr Kenobi was clearly flustered “I could possibly change the meeting if your nervous “ you said “oh no there is no need I just I'm not used to being called by my last name” he retorted “I thought it was company policy” you said. At your last job they were rather strict on this rule mainly because ‘you're obviously a secretary, you should have some respect’, so it became the norm. ”We generally are a bit more lax when it comes to the rules,” Qui Gon stated. Then Rex walked in looking stressed “Y/n I need you to help me with the meeting for tomorrow now” he said more agitated than angry. You packed up your stuff quite quickly and followed Rex out to his office.
”So what seems to be the problem” you asked as nicely as you could, “I got an email from headquarters and they want to move the meeting from Wednesday to as soon as possible”, “That shouldn’t be a problem, I could probably move it to Monday, as I said before, and move Mr. Organa to Wednesday”. You didn’t know if you should call Mr. Organa Bail. “Can we have the meeting tomorrow?” He retorted “I will have to check with Obi wan since he is currently still working on the deal”. Rex turned around and pushed some numbers into the hologram behind him. “Hello Obi wan , how far away are you with the lettering company deal?” he questioned. “About as far as I could be in 2 days” Obi wan responded. “Well I need it done by tomorrow morning, goodbye”, “wait rex i-” Rex hung up. “That went great ,didn't it?” He said to you while wearing a stressed smile. All you could do was stare at him befuddled.
There was a knock on the office door so you moved to open it. “There's no need to open that” Rex whispered. Another knock came from the door “Rex, I know you’re in there!” Obi wan 's voice came from the other side. “Y/n i'm going to hide behind the door, while you open it” Rex whispered to you in the seriousness of a war commander leading his troops. So you did as you were told. “Obi wan , how can I help you?” you opened the door. “Where is he?” He asked, looking at you. You pointed at the door while saying “Oh Rex isn't here “Obi wan was holding himself back from laughing “Then why don't you go to your desk?” he said while stepping to the side. "I will, good luck finding Rex” you said with a wink.
The rest of the day went quite smoothly. When the end of the day came around people started to leave the building. You were seated near the door so you said a polite goodbye to the people that left. Most people seemed to like it except this one zabrak who made a grunting noise while rolling his yellow eyes. Rude. In the end only Obi wan and Qui Gon were left. You approached Obi wan even though he looked to be focusing on his work. You didn't need to guess why. “Can I help you?”
“I don’t think so, I just need to plan this deal out with Ryloth lettering” he said looking rather desperate at his computer. “I'm a secretary, planning is my job” you answered with a self assured smile. Obi wan looked up from his computer and scooted over a nearby chair. You took the seat “so how may I help you?” You asked him in your secretary's voice. Obi wan gave you a look of panic as he answered, “I need to contact their office but my emails don't go through”. “Is the office still open?”, “I think so”, “okay wait”. You walk over to your desk and get the office holo out. “What's the number?” Obi wan gave you the number and you called it as quickly as you could. A man answered.
”Ryloth lettering, how can I help you this evening?” A monotone voice answered from the other side. “Hey i’m calling from Paper Force, we sadly have to move a meeting from wednesday to tomorrow morning” you told him. "May I ask with whom this supposed meeting is going to be?” Then it dawned on you that you hadn’t asked Obi wan about it so you did the good-old talking a bit away from the phone. “Who is the person for the meeting?” “Orn Free Taa” he whispered back. You told the man on the line his name and the hour for the meeting. “Okay Ms. L/n, the meeting has been moved forward, have a nice evening.” “You too and thanks again”
You closed the holo and Obi wan looked at you hopefully. ”So did it work?” he asked, tired and nervous. “Yes it worked, your meeting is tomorrow morning”. Obi Wan's face lit up immediately. “You’re a lifesaver Y/n” He almost yelled as he pulled you into a hug. “Are you two finally ready to go?” Qui Gon spoke, having walked in mere minutes ago.
Obi wan let go off you and you shifted a bit awkwardly around him to gather your stuff to go home. Obi wan did the same at his desk. You followed Qui Gon to the parking lot. “There she is,” he announced. As you looked past him you saw a half sage green half white Volkswagen minivan. Obi wan opened the door for you and you entered the velvet orange hippy dream that was Qui Gon 's car. “Do you like Radiohead Y/n.” Obi wan asked “I do, why?” “That's all you’re going to hear in this car" he said almost laughingly.
And right he was. 50 min and 1 entire album later you were finally back at the front door of the Alderaan apartments.
The door of ‘Shaggy’ closes with a slam. Shaggy was what Qui Gon called his wagon because “he has character” he stated. Obi wan agreed, the velvet seats had gone through quite a lot. Ever since Obi wan and Qui Gon had met back in college, Shaggy had been by their side. Qui Gon was only 2 years older but took Obi Wan under his wing pretty quickly. Because of this, Qui Gon was fine tuned to Obi Wan’s behaviour and so it began.
“So..” he let the o hang in the air as the music swirled around, “Y/n huh, quite an interesting person.” It might sound like a statement but he wanted an answer. “Yeah she's nice” he was going to talk himself out of this. It definitely wasn’t his fault that Qui Gon had walked in on that moment. He hadn’t even thought of it at the moment but yet here he was. “Do I need to just say it?” Qui Gon asked with a lilt to his voice. “I don’t know what you could be talking about my friend” Obi wan might have been known as ‘the negotiator’ of the office but whatever he was selling Qui Gon wasn't buying it. “Look, i'm not saying you did anything wrong but you know the rules, if you’re willing to break those, so be it” he stated rather gleefully as if he had just sipped the best jawa juice the world had to offer.
Obi wan knew the rules and their consequences. The office headquarters had installed them to make sure the workers would, well, work. The one Qui Gon was referring to was the ‘no work attachments' which was basically a ban on office relationships. “Oh come on Qui Gon , we both know a hug can’t be classified as a relationship” he huffed and mumbled “otherwise you may have had one” he pointed out Qui Gon ’s non-existent love life. Qui Gon burst out laughing “For your information, it's by choice” he said. He parked the car in front of the ‘for sale’ sign in Obi wan ’s front yard. “Now get out of my car, squirt.” “A nice evening to you too” Obi wan yelled back slamming the door. He watched Qui Gon leave with a wave.

Calm Before the Storm - Chapter 1 - News
Next
Tikki sat with Marc and Nathaniel in the school’s art room as they worked on their comic. She had Marc’s phone as she scrolled through his news feed for anything about Felix and Plagg. She had been keeping up with the news in London regarding a mysterious black cat villain. Words hadn’t been enough to convey her betrayal at Plagg’s actions.
When Tikki first saw what Plagg and Felix were up to months ago, she was livid. She had wanted to go to London and confront the pair, but she stopped herself. She knew what Velze had wanted for them, to be free to choose, but that didn’t mean she had to like it. And she certainly didn’t like seeing Plagg do bad things.
Tikki sighed as she kept scrolling. She wondered how Plagg could flip so easily. They had been good for so long. They were used to protect the world and to never be misused. Even know everything felt wrong. She sat there on Marc’s phone with no purpose beyond just being there.
Tikki furrowed her brow as she stared blankly at the phone. It had been seven long months since Velze was forced back into reality and everything still felt like a dream she would wake from. She was no longer restrained by the constraints before, she and all her siblings were free to exist as they pleased, but even so, it felt wrong after so long.
Tikki sighed as she lowered the phone. She wanted to feel useful again. She did have Marc and helping him with the small things, but it wasn’t the same. She missed the days when she was with heroes of legends. Jeanne D’Arc, Tentomushi, Micazoyolin, Khepri, and so many more. She wished she could have that again. To be a hero like she was destined to be.
Tikki tensed up as intrusive thoughts bombarded her. She sucked in a breath as she felt the compulsions to act out threaten to overtake her. She shut her eyes tight as she reminded herself that she was good and would always be good. She wouldn’t dare give in to the temptations of before. She had no need for them and was fine. She forced them down as she always did, but they fought back harder.
Tikki clenched her teeth as the compulsions gnawed at her. So much of her yearned to let go of her passive ways. She longed to let loose and be the messy, chaotic creation she was born to be. She shook her head as she desperately tried to remind herself she was good, but each thought was an echo lost to a sea of madness that dared to swallow her. She didn’t care if she was free to be herself, she didn’t want to. She wanted to be the good creation, not the creation she was born as.
“Tikki? Are you ok?” Marc asked.
Tikki blinked and looked up at Marc. “What? Yes. Just… fighting the same impulses to ring Plagg’s scrawny neck.”
“Is he and Felix still up to their tricks?”
“That’s what I’m trying to find out. I know he’s free to do whatever, but I simply cannot tolerate this. We should-.”
“Tikki, look!” Marc interrupted.
Tikki paused and looked at the phone. Her eyes widened seeing an article about a musketeer heroine. She clicked on it and read the article about the little Lady that rose to counter the black cat scoundrel.
“Look at that, Tikki! Plagg and Felix have someone to keep them in line. Good thing, right?” Marc asked.
Tikki stared at the screen in disbelief. She pursed her lips as horrendous jealousy rolled through her. What was Barkk doing in London? Is that where Chloe was sent to? Why were they getting involved with Felix and Plagg? Didn’t Barkk know better to stay away from her cat?
“Tikki, are you sure you’re ok? You look, well, angry,” Marc pointed out.
Tikki forced a smile and handed Marc back his phone. “Absolutely. Everything is perfect. Now, let’s get onto more important matters.”
“Maybe we should talk?”
“Nope. I want to create, but we will be stopping at London in the near future to have a chat with that cheating cat.”
“Cheating cat?” Marc echoed.
“I mean, uh, that cat. Yeah, that cat. Anyway, moving on!”

Two years of pain... fixed in 20 minutes.
I spent two years with a gastroenterologist who thought I had colitis and refused to look any further. Despite persistent symptoms I was brushed off. He kept upping the meds for it and I’m In so much pain at this point I spend all day in bed unable to bend over due to abdominal pain. I was bloating so bad I was bruising and my skin was flaking from being stretched so quickly. I cried so many nights and couldn’t sleep.
That self absorbed jerk accused me of wanting him to “wave a magic wand and fix my issues.” When all I was asking was help managing my persistent gastro symptoms. I just wanted not be in pain anymore, and have a plain to work towards that.
He retired and honest it might have saved my sanity.
Met a new doctor today who saw my sheets and narrowed his eyes in disappointment. He said the doctor was two years ahead of him in school (he’s an 80 year old man) and he didn’t know why I was diagnosed with the disease I was without better testing and with my persistent symptoms.
My new doc said I was probably in this situation because “it was easier for your previous doctor to just write it off as colitis.”
He also said he believes I am probably dealing with Leaky Gut Syndrome, because of how poorly I seem to be digesting and he knows that patents with EDS are much more likely to have it. He said that he trusts EDS patients because they know more about there conditions than he ever could and he wrote books on gastrointestinal issues.
This man works in the same hospital as my previous doctor and is only two years younger than him. He saw my suffering and orders a battery of tests to help rule out other issues. He changes my dosages to hopefully help the pain, gives me a digestive supplement that has helped other EDS patient of his and was so kind and patient.
I don't know how to explain how close to falling apart I was. I spent a month in bed sandwiched between two heating pads, throwing out my back so badly we had to take the ambulance. I'm lucky I'm on state healthcare. I had to stop cooking... I can only bend over a few times.
Today (three days after my appointment) I was able to go on some small walks.
I'm still in pain. I'm ok with that. I can function in pain, I couldn't function being in 8-9 most days. I couldn't function with my abdominal not only being covered in red angry ended stretchmarks up to my ribs, but also grotesquely bloated every day.
Two years of hell possibly fixed by a few weeks of tests and support. My whole medical team is super happy that I'm now getting looked at.
Ive always been a zebra among horses and sometime doctors don't want to look at the clear stripes. Now that I have a doc who is looking and I couldn't be more grateful for him and livid at my previous doctor.

Movie Marathon
Pairing: Steve x Reader Word count: 1,196
Read on AO3
Part 10 of Looking for the Captain
Wanda kept you company while you changed. Once you left to train with Nat, the pair of you went your separate ways. Not wanting Nat to know what you were really feeling, you simply decided to act mad. It wasn’t hard to do, either. Part of you was livid at how life had taken such a drastic turn. While you loved all the Avengers, and were thankful for them, that didn’t change the fact that you were in danger, your mother was in the wind, and your life would never be the same. Who wouldn’t be upset?
After the stretching, and the cardio, you and Nat got into the training part. At this point it was more sparring with her correcting your form at times. You went into it full force, ignoring the feeling of Bucky’s eyes on you. You knew he wasn’t happy with this. Yet, he was the reason that you were even there. He sent you to them. Would he rather have you at home, or possibly dead at this point?
Bucky watched, easily able to see that something was bothering you. You had a look on your face that made it obvious, and you were going at Nat like you wanted to take her down. Had Steve done something in the short time between the three of you getting back to the tower and you joining Nat for training?
Clenching his jaw, he walked out. “JARVIS, where is Steve?”
“He is in his room, sir. Shall I tell him you are asking for him?”
“Tell him I’m on my way.”
Steve was surprised to open his door to an angry looking Bucky. “Buck?” He stepped aside, letting him in. “What happened?” He asked, confused.
“You tell me.” He glared.
“I’m confused. We got home, and I came straight up here.” He told him. “Was I not supposed to do that…?” Did Bucky ask him to do something, or meet him somewhere?
Bucky looked confused at that. “You didn’t say anything to Y/N?” He asked.
“No, I haven’t seen her.”
“Something’s bothering her.” He sighed. “She’s training with Nat right now and she’s going in . Like, it looks like she’s trying to take her out.” He shook his head. “I wonder what happened.”
Steve shrugged. “Maybe she’s just getting really into training? She isn’t the type to not do her best.” It was something he really liked about you. “I’ll see if she wants to watch a movie later and talk to her.” Maybe you were just stressed?
Bucky groaned, sitting on a chair. “I want to ask her what’s going on, but right now it just feels like just basic stuff is safe. Anything beyond that? I’m worried I’ll push her further away.”
“Something is better than nothing. If it’s something serious, I’ll let you know.” He promised.
“No, you won’t. You won’t want to break her trust. Which is important.” He shook his head. “Just help her work through whatever the hell is bothering her?” He asked.
“Of course.” He agreed instantly. “Hopefully sparring with Nat will help get it out of her system. Actually, I have an idea.” He grinned. “I’ll send you out to get her favorite food, snacks and drinks. I’ll set up a movie with blankets and stuff. This way she can relax, and you can also get used to hanging out with her.”
“You think she’s gonna want to spend time with me?”
“When you show up with her favorites? Yes.”
After your shower, you made your way to the dining room, but JARVIS stopped you. “You are not dining with the others today. Mr. Rogers has asked me to have you meet him in his room.”
“Oh, okay. I’ll be right there.” You honestly looked forward to not seeing everyone. You adored them, but you weren’t used to always being around people. Even if you’d been there a couple months, it was just now starting to wear on you.
Steve opened the door for you moments after you knocked. “Hey, come on in. Food will be here any minute.” Bucky had texted he was almost back at the tower.
“Awesome.” You smiled. “Are we watching a movie with dinner, or just eating?” You wouldn’t mind either.
“Come on. I set up a movie.” He hoped you liked his pick.
You were surprised. “Final Destination?” You chuckled. “Excellent choice. Did you know that there’s supposed be a 6th one coming out? I can’t wait!” You were clearly very excited about it.
Steve grinned, glad you were pleased. “Why don’t you get comfy?” He motioned to the couch when he heard the door.
“Want help with the food?” You offered.
“No need.” Bucky said as he came in. “I got it.” He was carrying two large pizzas, bags with food, and you saw both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. “I heard we’re having a movie marathon!” He grinned, hoping you didn’t mind him there.
“You want to binge watch five horror movies with me?” You asked the two of them. “I get it’s not nearly SAW level, but still.”
Bucky nodded, moving around you to put things down. “I don’t see the appeal of them, but they make you happy. I want to learn what you like, and spend time with you as your friend. That starts with this.” He said, sounding a bit shy. But when he saw your face, he knew this meant a lot to you.
“Yay!” You beamed. “Okay, I’ll get glasses and ice for those drinks.” You rushed to Steve’s little kitchen to grab them. They shared a glance, knowing that they’d plan another night like this in the future.
Bucky had to do a double take halfway through the third movie. You were fighting sleep, curled up against Steve. “How about we have a nap, and then pick up the rest of this movie? Or should I go make coffee?”
“Coffee!” You yawned. “Wanna finish this one at least.” You told him. “Then nap, then we can watch four and five.” You told him.
Steve chuckled, shaking his head. “If you don’t sit up, you will fall asleep.” He teased. “Why don’t you go help Buck and I’ll get some of this stuff cleaned up.” He pointed to the coffee table before pausing the movie.
You dramatically sighed, making Bucky chuckle and shake his head. “How about we make a run? We can get some from that coffee place you like down the road.” He offered.
“I’m in my pajamas.” You pointed to your attire. “Although, I think this is Sam’s shirt.” You noted, just realizing it. “Whoever does the laundry likes mixing other people’s shirts in with mine.” Sitting up, you stretched your arms over your head. “We can just make coffee in the kitchen. Oh, I can turn it into a coffee milkshake.”
“Sounds good.” Bucky agreed, standing up. You seemed to be in a much better mood. “We’ll be back, Stevie.” He motioned for you to follow. While he still didn’t like the idea of you and Steve, he had to admit that Steve seemed to have a relaxing effect on you. That meant a lot to him.

Could we know more about Jessie? :)
I loved that character!! Poor Liu boy needs smth good in his sh!tty life </3
Jessie Vahns (OC)
Ofc!! I love talking about my OCs!! And Liu 🤭
Jessie Vahns, an inmate Liu met in prison.
The Story of Jessie & Why he was arrested
CW!! ⚠️ Abuse, murder, SA, sexual abuse, child molestation, physical abuse.
His father literally beat his mother to death.
Because she died, he started to take it out on Jessie.
Meanwhile, his little sister, Samantha, was being sexually abused by their brother.
One day, Jessie decided to fight back against his dad. He then tried to stab his own son. It was turned against him and Jessie stabbed his dad 19 times.
When he went upstairs, his sister was crying in the aftermath of her assault. Jessie decided that, he already killed one person and he’s probably going to prison for it, might as well finish it here and now.
So, he found his brother and stabbed him until he stopped moving- it was 27 times.
Obviously, Jessie was arrested and sentenced to 20 years in prison. He was 19 at the time, the same age which Liu would kill himself.

Liu and Jessie
Jessie was 36- he had 3 or 4 years left in his sentence- when Liu came in.
He caught the older man’s attention because of how kept down he was. Someone who had committed a crime wouldn’t be in a ball on the floor, nearly crying, with his head on his knees.
When Liu told him his story, Jessie was livid.
It reminded him of his own injustices, so he would fight tooth and nail to get him outta there.
Liu’s Release
CW!! ⚠️ Implied physical abuse
Once Jessie helped him get out early, he wrote the man letters.
The letters told of all the shit he went through, but there were also casual ones as well.
He sent him drawings of his favorite things: sunflowers, butterflies, drawings that encapsulated songs he liked, etc.
Jessie always loved these letters, and sent some back to him. He complimented Liu’s drawings and some of his poems that he sent as well. Jessie disclosed that he wanted to be an author as a kid, and sent Liu the main concepts of the stories he made up. Liu loved all of them and even drew cover art for them.
One day, a woman came to the Woods’ house looking for Liu. Peter was angry when he called Liu down, assuming he was in trouble.
The woman merely gave him a scarf. It had gray and black stripes and was so so soft.
“It was my brother’s. I think you know him. His name is Jessie.”
Liu was near tears at the gesture. Peter was instantly calm, but they didn’t save Liu from the pain that would ensue…
Liu’s First Death
CW!! ⚠️ Suicide
Jessie was the first one to know about it. He had a half year left in his sentence.
Liu sent the letter before he did it, so it would get to him on time.
Once released, Jessie put together every single one of his letters and drawings, sobbing over the loss while he put them in a box and marched down to the police station.
He slammed down the box and said:
“He didn’t fucking deserve this. Make it right!”
Then he left.
He paid for Liu’s cremation, but gave him a headstone in the graveyard. He left sunflowers on the grave every weekend. They were his favorite, after all.
Keith’s & Liu’s Second Death
Cw!! ⚠️ Murder, rape
When Liu (23) had killed Keith, the first person he ran to was Jessie (41).
His hands were covered in blood as he sobbed into the older man’s shirt.
Jessie had told him this, and he meant it too:
“It’s alright kid… it’s over. He can’t hurt you anymore… you did good… I’m so proud of you…”
He was 44 at the time, out of prison for nearly 9 years. Liu was 27, and off to the electric chair.
Jessie was well aware of what Liu had been up to. He knew who he was killing, and why.
Rapists, abusers, and people who fucked with his brother and friends.
Jessie couldn’t bring himself to justify it. But that didn’t stop him from loving the kid as if he were his own.
He went to visit Liu before he went off, and asked one simple question. And Liu gave a simple answer.
“You coming back again? Like ya did before?”
“I plan on it.”
And he did. He did come back.
Jessie’s Death
He died at 62 years old in the hospital. He was a smoker, and it caught up to him. Liu was 42, and left Hydra to visit him in his dying moments.
It was a sweet moment: Liu sitting on the side of the bed, holding Jessie’s hand. The two had one last conversation:
“Kid?”
“Yeah?”
“Look at how big ya got. Damn.”
“You need to get tough or die, right?”
“You were tough to begin with, kid. You took so much pain and suffering, and ya still held on for so long… I’m proud of you.”
Liu started to tear up, the words that he needed his whole life being said to him. Jessie was the only person who would say it. Granted, this wasn’t the first time, but it would be the last.
“You know, kid. I started calling you ma son.”
Liu was speechless. Jessie considered him his son? It shook him that someone, a parent figure, would want him. Would call him their son… and be proud of it…
“Thank you… so much..”
“C’mere”
Jessie stretched out his arms as best he could, and Liu cried into his chest once more. Jessie, his only father figure since his dad’s death, was leaving him.
He died in the hospital.
This time, it was Liu who paid for the cremation and headstone. No one came to the funeral except him and Samantha, Jessie’s sister.
He stood with her as she mourned the loss of her brother who saved her so many years ago. She cried into Liu’s arms, the only other person who would care.
When her eyes were dry from the crying, she looked up at Liu and noticed he was still wearing that scarf…

cw/tw pet death
one of our cats is dying and needs to be put down in the morning and I am so distracted from even just being able to grieve because like
I like in basically two rooms in our house that can be dark enough so that I don't get overwhelmed by the light, and the kitties can't get in because leaving the doors open, especially when sleeping, it's a sensory nightmare. so I asked my mom over a year (possibly twi? ik it was more than a year and a half) ago if we could get kitty doors in the doors. and every month or two since then. no kitty doors. I asked her in large part because I knew I didn't have forever with them and I wanted to let them in so I could spend time with them, as I have spent virtually none in the last four or five years. no kitty doors. she kept saying she would. and now that chance is fucking passed for this entire little being. this kitty and I don't get another chance.
I'm so fucking livid and scared because it feels like no matter what I do no matter how I ask or how often important things never happen and I'm just never going to see people or anything I love before they die. for no reason. and that nothing is ever going to happen unless I do it myself, and it is so hard to stop myself from trying when I can't do stuff because it hurts me but it feels like the only way anything will ever happen (this has happened multiple times with health things where numerous doctors never figured something out until I googled it or saw a comment on instagram or something that put it together and brought it to them on a silver platter. it's a mindfuck because some of that stuff could have killed me so the feeling is uuh. very not good and very intense)
I'm sorry tinky (her name is Tink). I'm sorry I wasn't healthier for you and couldn't work it out myself. I'm sorry I wasn't a better advocate for you and that I couldn't love you in person as much as I love you from here. I couldn't have but still. I'm sorry. and I'm sorry my mom let us down like that. I feel so fucking helpless to help you or anyone else.
I feel so utterly powerless rn and like I should just say bye to everyone I love because they're just going to die and I'm never going to be given the oppurtunity to say hi or even bye because my mom is gonna forget, or get distracted, or not bother, no matter how many times I ask her or how I ask her, no matter if I cry while doing so. We were so close to actually getting a door too after years of asking begging offering to help in any way that I can. I'm so angry and scared rn.
I'm also terrified bc what if the same thing happens to our other kitty. they are sisters they are the same age and I've been terrified of that. I'm closer to the other kitty, picked her out myself when she was a kitten from a shelter few and I want to squeeze her close to me and never let her go and I can't even let her in to comfort her. I'm so mad.
I just wish it wasn't so obviously preventable. so obviously something that could have gone differently if my mom had just bothered to do so sooner. She gets to sleep with them every night. gets to see them and socialise with them every day, and yet she couldn't bother to arrange me being able to see them despite me begging her periodically for over a fucking year. I wish I didn't have to deal with THAT hurt and break of trust as well as my grief. the only thing that's stopping me from screaming at her is that it would wake my brother, and she was his more than anyone else's. he picked her out from the shelter almost a decade ago. and she would hear it and I don't want her to have her last night here be awful.
I'm so tired of my fucking parents. I'm so tired of them adding to existing issues and causing entirely new ones. I'm so exhausted and crying makes me sicker but I can't just not. I wish it didn't and I didn't have to be afraid of simply crying.
The amount of times I have only been able to just lay here feeling like shit and wishing they could lay here with me. they liked doing that. and now I'll never get the chance with her again. angry
I feel so fucking empty.

The Rebels Extract
The Msyticanis Series IV: The Rebels Betrayal and Emotion
TW: Fighting, weapons, death
He had finally woken up, just as they left the dungeon, he tried to stand up, but Leya knew it wouldn’t work, the soldiers had been extremely rough with him when they had brought him down to the dungeon, and the pain in his hand was horrible. Still, at least Leya was here. Leya caught him just as he tripped over one of the steps, he didn’t want to move, he couldn’t, he must have broken something when he tried to fight off the soldiers-and the Hunter when he had appeared.
The light was blinding when they reached the corridor, but Orion’s mind was still focused on the memories of what had happened, after he had been taken to the pillar, they had tried to get the pendant off, every time it was taken, it would disappear and appear back on his neck. They had gotten furious and beaten him for it. Orion glanced up to see Leya supporting him, her blue eyes, so like the sky, looking more like a summer sky than ever. He faced down, focusing on his breathing, the pain in his hand getting worse with every second. Reyna was leading the way.
Leya glanced at Orion, who had not complained once. She had to get him out of this place, it must be like Furaan to him. Reyna stopped suddenly, she glanced back and gestured for Leya and Orion to follow, which they did. They entered a room and stopped, Reyna looked up at Leya.
“How is he?” Leya shook her head, “The sooner we get him to healer, the better,” Reyna said firmly, they couldn’t lose hope, they had to get out of here.
Reyna looked around, “Where are we?” She asked apprehensively. Leya glanced at the map, there was a dart on the forest where the Fang village was, there were two beds, one looked crumpled, the other looked as though no one had slept in it for months. The map explained everything, this was the traitor’s room. Liyba had said the traitor would tell the Four the village’s location after they had caught Leya. Had they expected her to come later? Reyna stopped looking around and froze suddenly, Leya looked up to see her staring at a table, a small dagger on it.
Reyna’s breath caught in her throat, it couldn’t be. There was no way…
She moved forwards and picked it up by its deep purple handle and held it up to the moonlight, the sharp edge catching the light. She inhaled sharply. She had been right, it was his dagger, she had seen it so many times before.
Suddenly the door slammed shut behind them, they spun round to see someone standing there. He pulled down his hood, revealing his black markings underneath his eyes, the markings Reyna knew so well, he had kept his mask on. Reyna was right, the dagger had belonged to him, the one he had trusted the most. The world seemed to slow down and it felt as though a glass had been shattered. Her breath hitched. Disbelief overtook her.
It was Aron.
Leya looked from Reyna to the Fang, and she was extremely confused, why did Reyna look like she had seen her worst nightmare.
Leya reached down for her knife, but the Fang said harshly “Don’t think about it.”
Reyna finally gained her voice again. “Why? Please tell me this is some sort of joke, Aron.” Her voice was shaking, Leya’s eyes widened in shock. Aron?!
Leya couldn’t even believe it, but she felt angry for Reyna, who looked livid. And she became even more furious when Aron laughed.
“Why do you think?” He said, Reyna’s eyes filled with tears, but he continued “The Manipulator found out, and he knew what I was. But, he also knew I wanted this, I liked to carry out the jobs they gave me.” Reyna shook her head, as if it was a plea for him to stop.
But he was relentless, “And they saw the perfect opportunity to try and find you and your precious people.” Leya couldn’t believe this, Aron had seemed like he was on the right side, why did she have to be wrong. “You can imagine how glad I was, able to serve the Four properly, without hiding. I kept it a secret from Kiran, but he became suspicious. I told the Four, who kept him behind so that I could make it look like I actually cared when he was late.” He laughed again, and stepped forwards, Reyna remained still, she could easily have been a statue.
“You killed him, you ruined Enora’s life. And what about Dane? Is he with you in all this?” She asked quietly, Aron shook his head, “He wouldn’t have the brains to do it.” He said coldly.
And that made Reyna lose it. “You killed Kiran, and my father, you’re chief. Someone who trained you and helped you!” She said furiously, she shook her head, she looked just as scary as the first night she had found Leya and Orion. Reyna glared at him, not the playful one leya had seen when she had seen the two of them together.
Aron laughed again, “I forgot I did that, and speaking of Kiran, want to know how I killed him?” he took a step closer, and Reyna backed away this time, her breathing became quicker.
But the fear faded quickly, and without warning she lunged at him.
Fury was all that she needed. She attacked him, she punched every single part she could reach, taking him off guard just in time to kick him in the face. He jerked back, taken by surprise, which soon morphed into anger, as he moved forwards to counter-attack. Leya saw what was coming before Reyna did, she moved herself and Orion so they were against the wall. And they watched as the two of them fought ferociously. Reyna was fueled by her rage from his betrayal.
But Aron knew her, and all too quickly he had grasped her arm and she found herself against the wall, he had his arm against her throat, holding her firmly but not hurting her. Leya couldn't do anything, if she moved Aron would attack her and Orion. Orion was still being supported by Leya and she couldn’t let anything else hurt him. Aron glanced at both of them before he leaned into Reyna’s ear and started to whisper how he had killed Kiran, Reyna’s eyes widened as she envisioned it, his words creating horrifying pictures in her head, he had snuck up on Kiran, had ripped him apart, created the bloody mess that he had brought back. Reyna tried desperately to get away from his grip, but she couldn’t. He finished his description and let go of her, but not before slamming her against the wall. She cried out in pain, and crumpled onto the floor against the wall, her breathing ragged.
He turned to face Leya and Orion, who had disappeared.
She crept around to Reyna, dodging the shelves and the dart on the map, keeping her footsteps as light as possible, she took Reyna's hand and created a circle in the air. Her invisibility came off as she did this, she got a glimpse of Aaron's furious face as he spun round, before pulling Orion and Reyna into the swirling portal of green.
And they were gone.
* * *
The moon was shining in the middle of the ink splashed sky, stars glittering like diamonds across the black canvas. Below, a forest of lush green leaves, hanging on trees stood tall, and flowers of all sorts were scattered across the floor. A hare went by, stopping to admire one of the golden dandelions that glowed in the moonlight.
Suddenly, a circle of grey swirls appeared out of nowhere, the hare shuffled away quickly, as three people tumbled out of the portal. Leya sat up with a groan, she always hated the feel of being chucked out of a portal. She heard Reyna sit up next to her. She looked up to see Orion sitting down already, rubbing the side of his head. He looked at her and smiled slightly, Leya looked at him sadly, making him frown. “What’s wrong?” he asked, as though he hadn’t just been tortured. Leya glanced at his hand, he noticed this and looked down to, he tapped the jewel on his pendant and it changed to a blood red colour. The blood vanished without a trace. Reyna sat up now, and she crawled backwards towards a tree, where she buried her face in her hands. Orion silently placed his other hand over his wounded one and pressed down, the jewel on his pendant changed to a cream colour, and when he let go of his hand it was bandaged cleanly. Leya saw him grin and decided it was safe to smile. “Does it hurt?” she asked tentatively, Orion shook his head, he looked over at Reyna, a phoenix could be heard above and a sheina howled far away.
Reyna looked up, “I can’t believe it was Aron the whole time. I never thought it would be him.” She whispered. Leya glanced at Orion who spoke in a soft voice “Well, at least he wasn't in the village. We could send a message back to your village Reyna.” he looked around, his eyes finding Leya’s, who nodded. She stood up and tapped the jewel on her pendant, it changed to a light blue and white. She drew a rectangle-like shape in the air, her finger emitted white sparks before a light blue, rectangle, shard-like material appeared in the air, she caught it. It was translucent, and she held it to the moonlight before creeping quietly to Reyna, who looked up confused. “It’s a messenger, just think what you want to say, and who you want to be able to read it, only that person will be able to open it. Reyna took it in her hands, she thought to herself, she had to tell Enora and Rune to get everyone into the forest, all Fangs knew how to survive in the wild, it was in their blood. Reyna handed it back to Leya, the message was wiped clean and looked blank. Leya threw it into the air, it foldied itself and then turned into an orb of white light, before zooming off in the opposite direction. Orion watched it go before standing up. Reyna stood up too, she knew she couldn't dwell on Aron’s betrayal, no matter how much it hurt. And Dane… Dane didn't even know…
“I told them to scatter into the Forest, since I’m Chief, no one will be able to find them unless they know exactly where in the forest the Fangs are, it’s old magic but it works.” She looked up at them, “How am I going to tell Dane? Dane and his brother were so close, they were like best friends.”
Orion smiled sadly, “I can tell him if you want, I owe you after all.” Reyna nodded gratefully, and whispered a thank you. “So what do we do now?” asked Leya, “We could wait I guess? But I don’t recognize this part of the Forest…” she looked around, as though hoping for a sign.
Orion looked thoughtful, “You know, I was wondering, wasn’t there some sort of ocean near here? How come I can’t hear it?” Leya looked alarmed, “Oh shoot. Okay, this isn't good at all…” she said “What’s wrong?” asked Reyna, also looking alarmed at Leya, who was backing away. “I can- I think- oh shoot- I think this is the wrong forest.” she muttered.
Orion’s eyes widened in shock, “What?!” he exclaimed, Leya looked up apologetically at the two of them. “When I made the portal, I was thinking “the forest”, I didn't specify which one!” she bit her lip, as Reyna clapped a hand to her head, Orion was the first to recover. “It’s fine, we can try to find out where we are, and then get you back to you people, Reyna,” he said in a low voice. Reyna nodded and she turned, to face the tree. Leya had the feeling she was crying, her shoulders were shaking and she had her face in her hands. She couldn't blame her for crying, she would if she was in her position. Guilt swept over her, Leya didn't know how Reyna felt, she had never had anyone to betray her.
Orion shifted slightly, he jerked his head to the side as a signal for them to leave Reyna alone for a while. Leya nodded and followed him, she moved forwards so that she was walking next to him. They moved forwards silently, Leya couldny help but notice how he was still pale and how his eyes seemed unfocused.
He was the first to break the silence, “I never thought it would've been Aron. He didn't seem like the type, did he?” Leya looked up, and saw a tree ahead, she stepped to the side and then joined Orion again before replying, “No, he didn't. But I guess that the best actors are always the ones you think are on your side.” As she said this, she realised that the names “Orion” and “Aron” sounded ridiculously similar. She pushed the thought out of her head, she couldn't afford mistrust in Orion, she remembered with a jolt that Orion has a pure soul, otherwise he would never have been made Dragon Rider. She glanced up at him before smiling.
“We have to be careful not to lose trust in each other, but still be careful who we trust, if we're going to end this. It all comes back to the Four, they did this.” she said, Orion looked at her, before saying “It's good news to hear that you agree with us trusting each other,” Leya smiled again.
Behind them, the quiet of the forest was interrupted by the sounds of fighting. Behind them…
Reyna was in trouble.
They froze, looked at each other and then sprinted towards the noise, dodging the trees that seemed to be moving in front of them on purpose, and the branches that seemed to try and grab their ankles to make them fall. They stopped abruptly in a small clearing, to see Reyna and a woman with snowy blonde hair, and bright amber eyes just like Reyna's, fighting on the ground ferociously.
Reyna kicked the woman hard, sending her onto the ground. The woman got up almost immediately and lunged towards Reyna, who had stood up, they both slammed into a tree, as the woman aimed a punch at Reyna's face, but Reyna ducked just in time so the woman's fist hit the tree with a sickening crack.
Behind Leya and Orion, who were just about to jump forwards to help her, quick footfalls could be heard as someone came running to them from behind, he pushed Orion so hard that Orion stumbled forwards, the man then turned to Leya.
He had white hair that was an inch away from being shoulder length. He had amber eyes as well, but that was all that wasn't covered by his grey mask. He was also dressed in the same jade green and grey as the woman.
He was about to make a move and attack her, when Orion pushed him back and they both started forwards to attack. Leya reached down for her dagger, to help Orion.
Suddenly Reyna managed to kick the woman onto the ground and lock both her arms down. Leya, the woman and man got distracted as Orion then pushed the man into the tree so roughly that he took several minutes to recover. The woman angrily looked back at Reyna and mirrored her earlier move and kicked her, causing Reyna to flip backwards onto the ground, as she was about to get up the woman had already stood up and brought out a knife and now held it to Reyna's throat. Orion pulled Leya away from the man, but it distracted both of them, and the man kicked Orion, causing him to fall, and causing Leya to fall too, her dagger fell a few feet away. There was a flash of metal, and he too brought out a sword and held it at both of their throats.
“Nisha, why on Skye would you attack without me there?” Said the man in a sharp whisper, his voice held a slight tone of calm, and a feeling of being able to trust him. A bitter irony of what had happened previously.
“I didn't want to wait,”she replied with a shrug, her voice holding a slight note of sarcasm and danger.
The man looked at Reyna who was glaring daggers at Nisha. He tilted his head slightly and then scoffed.
“Nisha, you idiot.” He muttered to her, Nisha looked furious and whirled around to face him. Reyna used the distraction and managed to kick her in the side of her leg, causing her to stumble to the side, she turned to Reyna about to hit her back when the man told her to stop.
“Are you blind? She's a Fang, am I right in saying you're Harrowan?” he asked Reyna, who's eyes widened in surprise, she nodded quickly, and immediately Nisha dropped her knife on the ground with a quiet thud. She took one of Reyna's hands in both of her own and helped her up. As Reyna dusted herself off, the man looked down at Leya and Orion.
“Are these two yours?” Reyna's eyes glanced at the two of them before she shook her head.
“WHAT?!” exclaimed Leya, she looked up at the man, who had his eyebrows raised before making a sudden movement with his sword. Reyna laughed loudly, “I'm joking, they're the Dragon Riders, you wouldn't be able to kill them anyway,” the man looked up at Reyna with a slightly annoyed expression and shook his head. He looked at Orion, who's dumbstruck expression had changed to relief as the man helped him up. Leya stood up herself, and the man apologised, “You two are Fangs aren't you? Rabellai Fangs?” Reyna asked.
The man nodded, Orion turned to him, “So what's your name then?” he asked.
“Illyrian, and your names are… ?” he asked, turning to Reyna in a smooth manner.
“I'm Reyna, that's Orion, and that's Leya,” she replied.
“Reyna? As in the chief?” He asked, Reyna looked taken aback, “How did you know that?” she asked incredulously
Nisha bent down to pick up her knife, before replying “We have people who would watch some of you when you weren't in the village,” she replied, Reyna blinked. She opened her mouth to speak, but Illyrian stopped her. “We’ll explain on the way, we’ll answer all your questions, okay?” he asked, the three of them nodded. “Lead the way.” said Reyna, with a slight smile, she looked directly at Illyrian, who turned away and started walking ahead, he looked back at Orion and jerked his head forwards. Orion stepped next to him and they started to walk forwards. Leya, Reyna and Nisha trailing behind.
“You know, we had planned on sending a message to you guys,” Nisha said, looking at Reyna. They had set off, the air was thick with the scent of pine and fresh flowers, that were scattered on the ground like blobs of paint. “But you didn't?” Reyna asked, Nisha shook her head, “Not when we saw one of your own, I was the one who saw him sneak up on that other Fang, Kirin I think he was called.” she said. “Kiran,” Reyna corrected her. “Right.” she said, with a nod. “When we realised he wasnt on your side anymore, we didn't send the message, in case he saw it and took it to the Corrupt Arcanes. They would’ve been able to get our location then.” “Fair enough I guess,” said Reyna. “When did you figure out that Aron was a traitor?” asked Leya “Few hours ago, and we knew he was close with you,” she said, looking at Reyna who became very interested in a fat bird that had sat on a thick, nearby branch.
“When we saw your Fangs had gone into the forest, we knew something bad must have happened, so-” “Are they safe?” asked Reyna, turning around so quickly that she cricked her neck. She massaged it gently, while looking worriedly at Nisha. “They're in our village now. It’s quite big and we have plenty of space.” she replied quickly
“Who’s the chief?” Leya asked a bit loudly.
“I am,” came a voice from ahead, Illyrian. Reyna nodded, she looked slightly taken back. Leya raised an eyebrow at her, she shook her head quickly and jerked her head to the side, where Nisha was. Nisha had been examining a tree, and she scoffed. “Illyrian, how much longer?” she groaned, Illyrian chuckled, before turning around to say “She’s very impatient-” “I am not!” exclaimed Nisha angrily, she did look agitated and bored. Her expression changed to humour, when Leya and Reyna spoke again-at the same time. “The Fangs are safe right?” they said together, the two of them looked at each other before they burst out laughing.
“Yes they're fine,” said Nisha after she had stopped laughing, “a bit confused but fine. We didn't tell them about Aron, that is his name right?” Leya nodded.
Nisha then took out her sword and started fiddling with it, before her foot caught on a branch, she stumbled and it slipped through her hands, Leya used this as an opportunity to whisper a conversation to Reyna. They stopped to wait for Nisha.
“So Reyna,” she whispered into her ear. “I caught you looking at Illyrian.”
Reyna looked at her suddenly in fear, “Is it obvious?” She asked quickly. Leya shook her head.
“I have no idea what to feel, I've only just met the guy but he seems awesome, but then there's him. Look at me, I can't even say his name anymore.”
Leya smiled softly, “All I can say is don't rush into anything this time? Got it? Take it chill.” Reyna nodded, but in her head she was thinking, easy for you to say. Nisha finally stood up. She put her sword away quickly. And they hurried forwards to catch up with the other two, who had been oblivious to the three of them pausing. They continue to walk forwards. Leya was lost in her thoughts, the Four punished those who failed them. And Aron had failed them, she glanced at Reyna's wrist, the marriage mark was still there. She looked up at Reyna’s calm expression, it was best not to bother her. She brought her focus back into the present.
“Nisha, where on Mysticanis are we?” asked Reyna quickly.
“We're in Cyrus.” replied Nisha, dodging a tree root
“Wait what? So this isn't the Kumayun forest?”Leya asked
“Nope, but I see where you're coming from, the flowers look similar don't they?” Nisha bent down and plucked a small purple flower, it had changed to blue when her fingers touched it. She gave it to Leya, “The ones in Kymah change to green don't they?”she asked, Leya nodded “And when Skynavia was still around, they would change to pink.” she said quietly. “The forests are still active you know, it's just the cities and towns that were destroyed, nature took over afterwards.” She smiled sadly. And looked up at the Lunar,
“The Swainari Fangs are from Skynavia, aren't they?” asked Reyna, she looked at Nisha, who was still staring at the Lunar. Nisha looked down, “Yes.” She whispered. The three of them watched as Orion and Illyrian leapt over a massive tree trunk that had landed on the damp floor. Nisha jumped over it as well, but Reyna and Leya went underneath.
“What happened to them?” Asked Reyna apprehensively, she had heard of them, but never known their fate.
“Captured by the Four, the ones on Skynavia were killed from the bombing when all this started, but the ones in East Kuma were forced back to the Ruins afterwards.” Nisha answered, her words were quiet, Leya knew that “Ruins” meant what was left of Skynavia after the Four had decided it's time was up. They had brutally bombed the lands and cities, killing everyone, as a warning and punishment for Tariyah Jade: the Illusionist.
Leya swallowed, no one will ever be safe if the Four aren't stopped she thought to herself. They had destroyed a whole world, for what? A punishment for a rebel, who was going to die anyway due to the infamous Death Timer.
She shuddered. Everything felt cold, but she forced her mind back to the present.
“How come no one's ever found your village, you have triple the amount of people that us right?” Asked Reyna, Nisha nodded, “We do,” she said, “But about 800 years ago, the then chief did a spell so that only the chief can reveal exactly where the village is, so only Illyrian can tell someone, he'll probably tell you.” She looked at Leya and then Reyna. Reyna felt her heart skip a beat at the thought of Illyrian possibly trusting her, but she realised it was probably because she was the chief of her village, and because they were staying with the Rabellai, she would need to know. She frowned slightly, she glanced sideways, Leya hadn't noticed, she looked down at her hands, at her wrists… Her eyes resting on the black mark around the wrist of her right arm.
And then she remembered with a shock how the Four punished their servants who failed them.
Her thoughts swam in and out, what if Aron hadn't been himself, what if the Manipulator had controlled him?
She didn't realise what she was doing when she leaned against a tree, burying her face in her hands. She let her tears fall, like waterfalls, down her face. She didn't register what the worried muffled voices were saying. She was lost in her own mind.
Whatever had happened, the three of them had escaped and Aron would surely be punished. Skynavia had been destroyed just because one woman had rebelled…
Suddenly, she felt something burn on her wrist. She looked down at her arm, her breathing ragged. The black mark that snaked around her wrist had vanished, she felt something leave her body. Now she sobbed. There was no way, disbelief took over again. Marriage marks only disappeared when one of them died…
And Reyna was still alive. Which meant Aron had been killed.
And if he had been killed, it meant the Four had had no use for him anymore, and the Manipulator could never have gotten the location unless Aron had given it. He had really betrayed her, and the Four had betrayed him. The irony was a hard pill to swallow.
And the worst part was, she didn't know whether she should care, whether she should be upset, or whether a part of her should be satisfied. She wanted someone to tell her how to feel, tell her that she was right. Or tell her that she was being stupid. But if she told herself that… She couldn't bear it.
She sank to the ground and cried.
Leya had no idea what to do, Reyna's sobs were quiet, but still, they felt loud. She stared at her helplessly, Orion and Illyrian turned around to see Reyna sat there, broken. They looked at each other. Orion whispered something in Illyrian’s ear, before signalling for Leya to follow him, as he turned to the right and set off on a walk, the grass rustling softly from his footsteps. She moved forwards, and walked next to him. She looked back in time to see Illyrian sitting down onto the damp grass next to Reyna, he had taken off his mask, and Nisha sat down a little further away from the two of them. Somewhere far away, a phoenix called out loudly.
She turned and looked up at Orion who looked back at her and for the first time since they had met, they met each other's gaze. -Masterlist-

CONGRATS ON 2K‼️ Ur da best and you deserve this and so much more!
Can I request prompt 48 (angst) with our husband Neteyam? Thanksssss and congratulations againnnn❤️❤️
STOOD UP
another one!! i am rolling these guys out. i had sm fun with this one. i love my angst AND the hubby neteyam

You were angry, you were livid. Fuming, steam blowing out of your ears as you huffed, pacing around the spot in the forest where Neteyam promised he would meet you.
He told you that he would be there just as the eclipse occurs, so you could watch it set, then go on an ikran flying date. It was what he said he would do. But what were you expecting, he had been flaking on you for weeks now.
Your paces were heavy, crushing the fallen leaves under your feet as you balled your hands into fists. Imagining hitting Neteyam over the head with them, for standing up to you once again.
Neteyam was flying his ikran as fast as the poor creature could soar. The moment he realised his training had lasted many moments too long he was on his feet, ready to take off. He had done this too many times, he tried so desperately to not get stuck into his training, but his father didn’t let up. Leaving you to sit by yourself, stewing in your rage as you waited for your boyfriend once again.
Landing below he saw your figure staring daggers into him. He in for it this time.
“Please let me explain, baby please.” He was already begging as you shook his desperate grip off you. He could feel the heat of your anger in your skin.
“I am so fucking upset with you right now, I don’t think you understand.” Your voice was harsh and cruel. Ready to scream out a verbal assault for all the fauna to hear.
“No, No I understand, I should have been here.” He was still clinging onto you praying that you were going to hurt his feelings too harshly.
“Do you Neteyam?” Your name was like venom off your tongue, usually you shortened his name affectionately. But no affection was in you today, you were mad.
“Please beautiful-” He was cut off but your annoyed sigh, trying to suppress a hiss that scratched at your throat.
“You understand that you promised me right? You can’t take back what you said. You promised that you wouldn’t stand me up again. And look where we are now.” Neteyam felt the guilt crush his heart, seeing the way you sucked your teeth to stop your sobs. The way your eyes shimmered because of the tears brimming them. He never wanted to make you feel like this.
“I don’t take it back baby. I’ll never do this again. I was caught up in training- a-and Father kept me back please, y’know I want to spend time with you.” He held tightly onto your hands, terrified you would walk away and never return to him.
“You can’t keep lying to me. I- I can’t handle the disappointment anymore.” Disappointment? It shattered him. He’d worked his entire life to never disappoint anyone, only to disappoint the one he cherishes most.
“No, no, no! I’m not lying…I’ll stop training, I’ll miss out on the hunts. Please.” You looked up to him, seeing the way tears flowed down his beautiful face. Placing a hand to his cheek wiping the tears you let out a shaky sigh. “We both know you can’t do that.”

Macaque x abused reader
You stumbled into your apartment clumsily attempting to hold your backpack without it scrapping the gashes on your back.
Today had been rough, you'd run into trouble with a gang. Thankfully Macaque had taught you enough self defense to stay alive, but not enough to get away unscathed.
The gang had it out for you, likely due to some drama your father had stirred up.
The corner of a book in your bag jabbed into one of the gashes promptly silencing your thoughts. You let out a scream and fell on your knees dropping the backpack.
You stayed on your hands and knees as the pain shot through your back taking deep breaths.
"It'll be over soon. It'll be over soon." You chanted trying to hold still.
Eventually the pain eased to a dull throb and you were able to stand. With a spiteful glare at the backpack you walked to your room and reached for the first aid kit.
A knock on your window made you freeze.
It was macaque. It had to be. But you were bloody and bruised. He'd be livid. After all you hadn't mentioned it to him. And even outright hid these events for the past few months.
Another knock came this time more impatient.
You released a sigh and walked over to the window. If you were going to die you might as well get it over with.
Macaque's face when he saw you spoke more than words ever could.
First was shock, then confusion, and lastly came the anger.
You opened the window slowly but Macaque gripped it, as soon as he was able, and pressed it up quickly.
"What happened to you?!" He demanded looking you over and circling you.
"I can explain?"
Macaque snatched your first aid kit then pulled you to the couch.
"I'm listening."
You squirmed a bit as he gently removed your jacket and started to clean the wounds on your upper back. Your undershirt gave him room to work but kept you comfortable as well.
"I just...I ran into a gang."
"Mhm."
"And I tried to run, and I wasn't quite quick enough. They dragged me into an alley and we fought then you can kinda see the rest."
Macaque reached for a roll of bandages.
"What did they want?"
"What?" You turned slightly but Macaque pushed your shoulder indicating he wasn't finished.
"Your stuff is over there, the bag is in one piece and I think you would have mentioned anything missing, so they weren't after your stuff. So~" Macaque finished bandaging your back and walked around you. He stood Infront of you with his arms crossed over his chest. "What did they want?"
You fidgeted a bit.
"Uhhhh why would I know?"
Macaque cocked a brow.
"You have no idea? None. They just saw you and grabbed you for no reason?"
You blew out a sigh.
"Alright alright....they have an issue with dad."
Macaque tensed for a moment then shook his head.
"I noticed you have some other scars on your arms and around your neck."
You flushed a bit and tensed.
"This isn't a first time deal," Macaque leaned close enough to kiss you with a frown. "Is it, kit?"
Your face burned crimson and you shook your head.
"I-i just didn't want you to get mad!"
Macaque chuckled.
"I wouldn't get angry at you, kit. You know that."
Your blush burned darker and Macaque gave you a little room to breathe.
"Now lay down you're not going to be moving around with the amount of blood you lost." Macaque ordered walking towards the window.
"You're leaving?" You couldn't stop the disappointed tone from lacing your words.
Macaque chuckled and responded with a glance over his shoulder.
"I'll be back but I've gotta get some ingredients for dinner. Sit tight."
With that he hopped through the window and shut it behind him.
"But first-" Macaque's eyes shone purple. "I think I'll go hunting."

just another delightful idea for you bestie...hehehehhehhehhehehhehe
So...picture this: Jason and the reader are acquainted because of him helping out the basketball team in his free time from work, and the reader is dating Eddie. One day the reader is so fed up with Jason constantly talking shit about Eddie during practice because Chrissy and him are besties (without a doubt) and Jason had just said something that truly makes the reader snap. So, the reader makes Jason think that when he isn't at practice (he is with Eddie but no one knows that) that he is with Jason's mom.
Highly bases off the song "I Fucked Yr Mom" by Sorry Mom :))
I Fucked Your Mom Jason - Eddie Munson x Male!Reader
Male!Reader, he/him, need I say more? Let's get into this
CIS Women and Female Aligned people, please DNI, this story and all of my others are for non-binary, masculine aligned and male readers!

“For the love of fuck Jason, can you just quit it already?” Sarcastically yelling from across the cafeteria at the senior I had been far too tired to deal with his bs about Eddie being a freak.
“Oh yeah (l/n), what are you gonna do to stop me?” He called back angry, guess he didn’t expect his homework kid to get snappy with him. He had constantly been picking on Eddie, my boyfriend, sure I was ‘friends’ with Jason and his club of assholes but only because I did homework in turn for protection from other assholes that didn’t like me.
“How about this Jason. You know full well that you’re at practice for several hours a day, wanna know what I’m doing when you’re doing all that?” He shut up and gestured for me to continue.
“I was fucking your mom,” not in the slightest bit true, I always hung out with Eddie when Jason was at practice, “That’s right Carver, I was fucking your mom, at the PTA meetings, ya know she'd come by the high school and I just thought she was so fucking cute for a mom. So one night after a meeting I took her home, bent her over my desk, and I fucked the shit out of your mom.” He was livid now, I guess I found the soft spot he’s got. He tried rushing me but didn’t realize I could get out of the way just a bit quicker than he could lunge at me. I had the upper hand here, so why not keep taunting him right?
“It’s funny really, I used to work as a lifeguard in the summer, she and the other moms would come in and relax and we’re allowed to go in and swim with them, yeah. She stayed behind a couple times, just wanted to chat, and realized she must’ve sent the kids home, she had no ride, asked if I could take her home. Well I took her home alright, and I’m sure you were in bed by the time we got back, and she was in mine, I fucked your mom Jason. And she loved every second of it too.” I loved the look of pure rage on his face.
“SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH UP ABOUT MY MOM!” He kept going for punches but wasn’t landing any, too angry to see straight. I had almost made a whole circle around the table dodging his punches and lunges.
“Then how about you stop me, Carver?” I sprinted back to my seat, snatching my bag and running out of the cafeteria to the parking lot, might as well do a few laps while I’m still alive.
“Really, you chose to date that one?” Gareth was trying his best to hold in any other concerning comments about me and turning to gauge Eddie’s reaction.
“Yeah, I think I like that one the best.”

The Failed Shovel talk;

Summary; The Hook siblings attempt to give Haul the shovel talk. It doesn't go as expected at all. Also featuring Peter Pan, Ginny Gothel, and an alternate version of Hope from ouat as half siblings who also take part in this ridiculous endeavor. Requested by @idontliketomatoesleavemealone and suggested by @dragoneyes618 .
🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️
Hannah and Haul had been together for 6 years by the time they actually got around to introducing him as her boyfriend.
It wasn't their fault. No really, it wasn't. It just kind of happened after the whole 'running off to bulid their own circus at 15 and 17' thing.
And sure, they could have gone and visited her adoptive family like they had the rest of their family (Haul's and her bio parents' family). But Haul was tired of the bullying at school enough to drop out and Hannah was angry about the amount of secrets everyone in her family was keeping... so, they didn't.
And yeah, it could very well be considered petty on Hannah's part but she didn't particularly care and Haul would do anything she asked him to. And could you really blame either of them after finding out all the secrets her family had been keeping?
Harry dating Audrey.
Ginny and Clay being married.
Harriet being able to speak to more than just crocodiles.
Cj running off to wonderland. Without telling anyone. Again. AND MARRYING ZEVON.
Her father getting remarried.
Her grandfather being DAVY JONES!
Peter Pan being her brother.
Hannah thought that all of that warranted being more than a little petty-- even if Haul didn't necessarily agree with her.
But all of that was behind them now and he was finally getting reintroduced to her family. Well, her siblings at least. Apparently her father was still livid that she ran off and his new-not-so-new wife and mother were trying to calm him down. Who would have thought that, that was a possibility? Totally not him.
Everything was going well at first.
All 6 of Hannah's siblings-- yes, 6, apparently her father had another kid while she was gone-- were being friendly enough. Even though he could tell that it was forced-- they had the same tells as Hannah after all-- he appreciated it.
Harriet talked about her kids and job. And Anthony's bat. And the animals she had in her corner.
Ginny talked about all the deadly potions she knew how to make and all the weapons Clay owned.
With Cj chiming in about all the ones Zevon knew how to make and all the deadly adventures they had been on. While playing with a lighter.
Harry just played with his hook, making hook puns. Which kept getting him warning looks from Harriet.
The only ones being genuinely friendly were Peter-- who had known where they had been the entire time-- and little 5 year old Hope. The kid James Hook had when Hannah was gone.
Everything was going well at first.
Until Hope had to go to the bathroom and asked Hannah to come with her. Which Hannah couldn't refuse because she adored the little one already.
As soon as the two of them were out of earshot, everything went to hell.
"So. Haul--" Harriet started, leaning toward him slightly. Scratching her pet crocodile's back. "We need to talk"
Peter snickered.
Haul shot him a brief glare before turning back to Harriet "About?"
Harry got in between them, grinning like a mad man. "Your intentions with our baby sister "
"I don't have any intentions with Hope" He replied dryly, despite knowing exactly what they meant.
Harry's smile vanished. "Not her! You know what we mean!"
"No I don't. Because last time I checked Hannah wasn't a baby" Haul knew that he was treading on thin ice but he really couldn't help it. He was tired of everyone trying to use intimidations on him. It got old fast.
"She's still our baby sister" Ginny chimed in, sharpening her nails with her dagger.
"She's 22 and can take care of herself " Haul bit down on his lip to stop himself from sounding too annoyed. He knew that they'd just take notice of it and use it to their advantage. Hannah had told him so before they had arrived.
"22 year olds don't know what they want" Haul wanted to face palm. Honestly, how stupid could one be?
"Cj, you're literally a year older than her. You're basically saying that YOU don't know what YOU want." He sighed, pinching his nose.
Cj turned red, having possibly forgotten that little fact, and scowled "that's not the point! Just focus on what we're saying!"
"I would if you were saying anything worth focusing on"
Before they could say or do anything in response, an oblivious Hannah returned carrying a sleeping Hope.
"Hey guys what's u-- why does Peter look one laugh away from death?"
Haul just smiled innocently at her, feeling 4 glares on him. "No reason, Dream Queen. No reason"

Author's note; sorry, this probably isn't my best work but I wasn't sure how to phrase it.
For anyone wondering;
Ginny Gothel is the hook kids' half sibling and she married Clay Clayton.
Peter Pan is their full blooded brother. Something no one knew till Hannah figured it out when she was 15.
Harriet married Anthony and Harry married Audrey.
Cj married Zevon.
And Hope is Hook and his new wife's daughter.
Everyone's ages can be found down below;
Ginny and Harriet are 28.
Harry is 25.
Haul is 24.
Cj is 23.
Hannah is 22.
Peter is still physically like 13.
And Hope is 5 and based on baby Hope from ouat. She's meant to be an alternate version of her. She is not @idontliketomatoesleavemealone oc, Hope. Or my oc, Hope Sid. Just to be clear.
Hope that clears up most confusion.
