he used his for mission briefings, weather updates, reply to texts with “K” or thumbs-up emojis. he only has a phone because he has to.

but today, he’s curled up on the living room’s couch, face bathed in the faint glow of tiktok.

yelena’s sprawled on the rug in front of him, snacking on expired takis and kicking her feet, while bob is staring at his screen like it’s alive, like it’s mocking him.

you see, it started with yelena.

she was bored during surveillance. handed him her phone and said, “trust the algorithm. it knows things.”

he shouldn’t have trusted the algorithm.

because now?

now, it only shows you.

you walking through smoke, cloak trailing behind you.

you laughing during sparring drills, eyes bright and magic curling at your fingertips.

you squint at him. “you good?”

he tries to nod. it comes out more like a bobblehead glitching in real-time.

you raise an eyebrow. “yelena mess with you again?”

he looks like he’s about to deny it, then freezes, eyes going wide.

behind you, yelena rounds the corner, winks, and holds up bob’s phone.

she presses play.

the sound of ariana grande starts playing again.

you glance over your shoulder just in time to see yourself in slow motion on the screen. you didn’t even know someone filmed that.

yelena let out a mischievous smirk and a quick “have fun!” before throwing his phone at your direction and running away.

you caught it perfectly, seeing yourself on the screen. you ask, very casually, “is that… me?”

bob jumps like he’s been tased.

“oh my- uh- i was just… it’s just yelena sent-“

you blink. “bob.”

“i didn’t- i mean, i didn’t search for them,” he blurts. “the app just kept showing you and then i didn’t want to be rude by not watching-“

you glance at the screen, swiping once.

another thirst trap. this one with the caption:

you grin. “wow. they’re kinda poetic.”

“i know,” he mutters, trying to hide himself behind his hands. “it’s horrible.”

bob makes a sound that might’ve been a whimper.

“that’s funny,” you whisper, placing his phone in one of his pocket. “i thought you were the strongest one here.”

and then you walk away, barefoot, cereal in hand, hoodie falling off one shoulder.

bob stares after you like you just rewrote the laws of physics.

later that night, bob’s room is dark. only the faint glow of the moon cuts through the blinds.

he’s in bed, hoodie on, blanket up, headphones in.

the phone? balanced on his chest like a glowing curse.

he should be sleeping, meditating, literally anything else.

but instead… he’s scrolling.

your edits. again.

the algorithm has him in a chokehold.

first video: you walking away from an explosion, hair blowing back like a damn shampoo commercial, captioned:

i ended up taking a break from tumblr after getting that anon comment. i didn’t mean to be gone for days but i needed to clear my head and step away until i felt better. i was so angry and upset and didn’t understand why people feel the need to make such comments. i enjoy being on tumblr, talking with everyone (especially my moots 🥹 ily), creating stories, and enjoying all things obx and that anon kinda stopped that for me. i try to update my stories when i have time. i have a very demanding job, mentally and physically so finding time to write can be few and far between. ive had this account for over a year now but didnt start posting my own stories until last november after i had surgery and was off work for 6 weeks. i had all this extra time and saw so many great stories on this website that i thought i should start my own and see what happens. thats how gossip girl came to be and i’ve continued on from there. i found that i loved making graphics and telling a story with the obx characters. it was so genuinely so much fun to be able to tell a story that way. so when that anon came through, it just ripped that feeling away in a second. these past couple days, i’ve focused on myself and if i’m being honest, thought about leaving tumblr but decided against it. i have way too many stories i want to share with all of you and i would never just leave without at least saying goodbye to everyone! i enjoy this platform and all its crazy talented people 🥹 i would tag everyone i love but i would exceed the tag limit lol so from here on out, all hate/self entitled/rude anons will be blocked because this is my safe space to create what i want. i want to keep the anonymous option available because a lot of my readers like to communicate that way and i’ll be damned if i let one asshole ruin that for everyone else if you don’t agree with how i update my stories, you’re more than welcome to leave and write at the pace you so clearly want.

the past few days i have been recieving more hate and criticism due to my writing so i have decided to stop. my stories aren't accessible anymore and im sorry to everyone who enjoyed them but i can't take this anymore. every time i open tumblr i get ridiculed, judged, and criticised and i’ve tried to ignore it but i can't anymore.

DC Sexuality Headcanons for Pride

Decided to just make a new post with all my headcanons so far. For all future questions I'll just update this. But please keep asking!

Cassandra Cain: I see Cass as being pansexual. She's very thoughtful and trying to keep her eyes out for people's motivations and what that means for who they are as people and their morality, I don't see her being concerned with what people have going on under their clothes, or at least that not changing the way she might feel about them. That being said I also see her as graysexual, because I think with how aware she is of everything physical that sex could be very overwhelming for her. She does enjoy it, but infrequently.

Jason Todd: Jason is my bisexual disaster, and I doubt that surprises anybody. But I don't see him having a sea of lovers that could fill up a stadium (unlike other Robins ahem DICK). No Jason doesn't hook up with randos much, mostly because that would involve a lot of messy feelings. Casual hook ups with close friends though? Very much on the table. You'd think that would be even messier, but somehow in his mind it's not. Hence the disaster part. Jason is a fantastic, intense lover, but despite how dominating he is in bed he is not at all a top. Sometimes, but rarely.

Damian Wayne: As I mentioned in the notes on the last chapter of my fic, I see Damian as a double demi aka demisexual demiromantic. He ABSOLUTELY has to know and care about someone before he feels any kind of way about them. When the stars align perfectly, and he meets his perfect person (Colin Wilkes, if you were to ask for my opinion) he is one of the most loving, caring partners there is. Saying that though, when it comes to intimacies he needs to be invited. A longing look, a bitten lip, a come hither quirk of the finger, anything outward to show that his other half wants him in a carnal way. And I'd say more but I was actually planning to write a scene about that one day so...

Talia al Ghul: Don't hate me, but I see Talia very much as a straight woman, who's heart locks on and does not easily let go (for good or bad reasons). I don't know if she's had any trysts outside of Bruce that were serious and not a means to lure fools to their doom, but I struggle to see her falling for a woman (but maybe that's because I have no idea who she even gets shipped with regularly). While most see her as a dommy mommy, I actually don't. For some reason I see her being a mite submissive, maybe even a touch selfish in bed but not in a bad way. Talia is a very complex character for me as you can probably tell. But she IS an ally. There's no way something as dumb as sexuality or gender changes how she might look at a person. If she's going to kill you it has nothing to do with your identity.

Bruce Wayne: Bruce is some kinda polyromantic. Mostly because he needs the wiggle room, you know? He's very independent. He's also pan because I said so <3 We've all heard the legends of how he is in bed, what goes unsaid is that he is the living example of a switch. He's both the kitten princess who lures you into the sheets with just his eyes and the daddy that all the good boys and girls want to please.

Dick Grayson: Fun fact, I learned what an omnisexual is just this past Sunday. And I realized that was the identity I was trying to describe in my head for Dick for a long time. Unlike pansexuals whose attraction isn't effect by gender, omnisexuals are specifically attracted BECAUSE of gender. He wants the men, women, and enbys equally. And he's a very fun, silly lover. He will make you feel beautiful and satisfied, and then share a giggle about it~

Alfred Pennyworth: Ah Alfred, my aromantic king. Sure, he's had an intimate encounter or two, and no one will ever know anything about them. (I lowkey ship him with both the Waynes, Thomas and Martha as a set, but I don't see it being sexual, passionate kisses at the most). No relationship matters more to him than his duty to his family. Sure, occasional interest might turn his head for a minute, but his heart always brings him back home.

Tim Drake: I'm totally on board with bisexual Tim. And the idea that he doesn't know that until he's straight up asked out by a guy. And that's the through line, too. He. Is. Dense. As. Fuck. He starts feeling feelings for someone when they make it clear they like him first. In bed he's very excited, a bit clumsy in his enthusiasm, but he really enjoys mutual give and take. If you rock his socks, he rocks yours right back.

Stephanie Brown: Steph is for sure attracted to men, canonically at least, and I'd like to keep true to that. But she bonds with the girlies pretty well, so her being into women isn't impossible? Something tells me it would be more butch women then feminine women. So Imma say polysexual, attracted to some genders but not all. She's sweet and attentive in bed, doesn't need anything crazy to have a good time, but is down to play if the interest is there. Loves to tease her partners until they blush.

Colin Wilkes: Colin, my pansexual brother from another mother. I just get that feeling from him, what can I say? (mostly because we don't have enough of him in canon to say that's not true so) In my head he thinks all of Damian's family, and close friends too for some reason, are pretty. When he gets older, he realizes he's drawn to the lifestyle, and that's why they all have that something that catches his eye. As for in bed...he's a brat. He teases and bites and pinches and really just wants to be put in his place (which is to be picked up and/or thrown by Damian's big strong man muscles). Aftercare requires a lot of cuddles and kisses, and reassurances that he's loved, but he looks at his man like he hung the stars in the sky.

Jon Kent: Bisexual baby boy, obvi. Another case of my happily embracing canon. As for in bed, I see him being very, very shy. Happy, enjoying himself, and will loosen up as things go on, but shy and sweet.

Kon-el/Conner Kent: Is it insulting...if I call him a pansexual freak? The leather, the earring, the sunglasses? It just reads as sexually adventurous, which I love for all of us. Like listen, there is no way he is a fully straight man, let's not kid ourselves. Very much a top, and a dom, but you'll never hear a cruel word cross those lips. He can take you apart without ever having to tear you down.

Until now, I’ve stayed out of posting on my page anything related to this incident, but this post by @dennitsastar bothers me a little TOO much to continue to stand idly by.

Firstly, my overall opinion on the original matter is that @cultkinkcoven ‘s main point was that all humans deserve basic human empathy. That’s it. I can’t seem to wrap my head around how that’s a controversial opinion to have. The person who Shi got in an argument with, was triggered by the original post due to having a traumatic history with the subject matter. Rather than moving on from the post, like the trigger warnings had suggested, they decided to post about it. This escalated, and their mutuals accused Shi of horrible things with no real basis, like being a pedophile. OP even later admitted to having never even actually read and fully comprehended the post, so all their arguments weren’t even based on the actual text. It boggles my mind how someone who worships a god of madness can be so vehemently against supporting those who struggle with it. Of course, lots of people took their side, because no one wants to be seen as defending a “pedophile”. OP even encouraged their followers to hex Shi, which is imo an irresponsible way to use their platform.

Anyways, that’s all I’m saying on that. However, I want to speak on @dennitsastar ‘s horrid and baseless claims here, where they are not only insulting my friend Shi, but also his followers. Let’s dive in, shall we?

He opens up topics of discussion quite often. Also, if he wanted to appeal to the “general masses” he wouldn’t post about such controversial topics.

They then go on about how mixing together a god’s image from the perspective of different mythologies isn’t okay, because a god can only be correct in one mythology right? News flash, people have different beliefs on how gods work! And for some of us, Lord Lucifer doesn’t fit into just one archetype. “Why not… Egyptian?” Astarte is mentioned many times on his blog. The Eye of Horus (a symbol of Lucifer) is literally at the top of his blog.

In the next sentence, they go on to say his version of Lucifer is just entirely made up, which is NOT an okay thing to say about another person’s god.

In case anyone is wondering, I can confirm as someone whose ADHD got got by the viral marketing, people aren't lying about that tirtir cushion foundation, it's good, and either my allergies have reached whole new heights or I have a cold, so I'm in prime sensory issues land, and I can barely feel it on my face, and while my nose may be fucked by the cold, it also doesn't seem to have a strong smell

(for more context, my shade is 21N ivory and I have enough unnatural redness in my face from skin issues that I found the shade finders hard to use (but that also means that when I say it's good, I mean it covered all of the redness), but I am typically whatever a brand calls "fair ivory" in winter and "ivory" in summer, so I just used that as a measure, and it worked, but I recognise that that's a privilege of my skin tone, and if you have fairer or darker skin and don't have a store near-by that has them in-stock, it might be a good idea to get the shade sample kits that some of the korean import sites do)

If you wanna see what the gameplay loop is like, you're better off watching a let's play and deciding from that if this is the kinda game for you.

So, I actually found out about this game while stalking the Ita Bag subreddit, where the creators promoted the ita bag feature in the game. As someone who likes decorating things both IRL and virtually (hence why I was stalking that subreddit), I thought it sounded interesting enough to check out. So shortly after getting the game on a whim with some Christmas money, I got addicted to it for a couple of days before dropping it for about a month and then coming back to write this post.

Anyway, the gist of it is that it's a management sim/visual novel where you play as a fangirl, making friends with other fangirls by writing fanfic and making merch of your OTP.

And when I say "your OTP," I mean your OTP. You can't customize the player character outside of her name and online handle, but you can customize the characters she (and her friends) ship through the in-game character creator.

I did my first play through with R.O.B. & Watch (becauseIwastoolazytodrawandimportpartstomakeTatiKliff).

As a "game" I don't know if I'd call it "fun" exactly. As someone who easily slips into doing menial tasks in games, I did find a rhythm to the management part of the game as I debated against writing fics that would be popular vs. finishing my commissions, and I'll always love decorating virtual spaces with cute knick-knacks, especially if I get to personally design said knick-knacks.

But, it being a buggy early-access game with a shoddy English translation did hinder my enjoyment on occasion. I don't think a game can do anything more to sour your opinion of it than to *make you lose all of your save data trying to troubleshoot it~

*Strictly speaking, the game didn't *make* me do that, it's just one of the last resorts I went through to try and fix the bug, and that didn't even work.

Things like that piling up took what would have been a 7 out of 10 game to a 6 or 5 in its current state.

All that said, I still had a good time (before losing my save) because where it lacks in being a good game, it makes up for by actually being the ultimate "rare pair simulator". Because when your ships have zero content, you'll really take whatever you can get XP.

For me, it was very amusing to experience a world where something like ROB & Watch matters to people and I get to read all the cheesy fanfic that never got to exist for it.

Slight spoilers for the main story, but I just couldn't replicate my (internal) laughter from one of the characters starting fandom drama because they originally rooted for the "rival ship" and me thinking, "Oh, she's a Pac & Watch enjoyer. XD". That's something that could only happen in a game like this.

For people who's OTPs are popular and already have an abundance of fan content out there, I don't think this game will have much to offer you that couldn't be accomplished by just *being* a fangirl (gender-neutral) IRL and consuming the fan content that already exists. But if you like any sort of ship that's niche, whether due to unpopularity, self-shipping, or heck, you can throw your OCs in there too if you really want to, I think that you might find a game like this to be at the very least amusing.

This is a game that's really going to benefit from custom content that just doesn't exist while the game's audience is in its infancy. But I truly think that it has the potential to be something really special with enough time and development, and I leave it up to you if that's a gamble you want to take.

Other thoughts:

There was actually a recent update that added a bunch of features that really upped the customization features, added a few minigames, and even a new "tamagotchi mode" where you can leave your ship idle on your screen while you do other stuff.

I haven't gotten to mess with all the new stuff in depth, but the addition of these kinds of features tells me that they're really committing to the bit of making a space where you can do anything you want with your blorbos in a single package~ If they could just iron out all the bugs, improve the translation, and add a "free play" mode, this game could be amazing.

Speaking of... the other little things that bug me:

Even though you can set the character's gender and pronouns, the stories don't always use them properly. This seems to be a programming error which might have happened due to the shoddy translation, but I do hope this gets fixed on final release.

Similarly, for most of the illustrations, they currently don't have alternate outfits which change with gender. Most of them are neutral so it doesn't matter too much, but there are a few which are clearly femme/masc which may be bothersome for some ships/characters.

I know it's a small team, and that's what stock materials are for, but I hope this team can pull together enough funding to hire (besides a proper translator) a composer and another artist. I would love to hear some original music because there aren't a lot of songs in the game, and the few we do have get grating after a while. I ended up muting the music entirely in the first few hours of playing it.

I say another artist not because the current ones are bad, but because for the new minigames they added, they are clearly using stock images for the assets, so I dunno if their current artists just weren't getting paid enough to make the assets, or if they're just placeholder while the artist makes new assets to replace them. Given that most of the artists in the credits are listed as "cooperating organizations", I get the feeling that most of the art in the game was on a by commission basis rather than having an in-house artist that gets paid to make assets.

I know that these are just little side things, but the cohesion of the entire product should be pretty important, so while I think all the new stuff is neat, there's still some polish that could be added.
