#i've had many people ask me in the DMs what could be done to help me out given the orange menace is coming back into power#the best things for me right now (I can't speak to others) is this: 1. Keep supporting my creative endeavors#no matter how little I might post or interact. Please hype me up. I need community. I need spirit to survive.#2. Help me find resources that will help myself and others. Food banks. Community meets. Passports. Finances. Mental health etc.#these are important and I don't want others feeling like sitting ducks. Even though I'm scared I want to be a solution to the problem.#I am going to be a helper in this mess cause that's who I am and I need ammo in this capacity#3. Donate so I can up my ration storage. I've been collecting food water and nonperishables and I'm trying to stock up on medication#and other basic necessities. I'm collecting as if I'm preparing to be homeless again and if I am over capacity I'm giving rations to others#I've had to make peace with the fact I can't run away. I can't move to another country as I'm broke and poor like the rest of my loved ones#4. If you have friends who are disabled or a minority or lgbtq etc. do what you can to protect them and show them that you love them#and build community#5. Share my work and that of others. Who knows if we're gonna have sites like AO3 in the future or even access to tumblr.#this is all I can think of at the moment and again I can't speak for others this is what comes to mind for myself#And I admit I'm coming from a place of the worst case scenarios#because in my mind if I imagine I'm dead or homeless etc. and work my way backward to the next worst thing before that it unravels my fear#and it gives me back my power in the situation by sitting with those fears and giving them time to speak#because in my mind if I'm already dead if I'm already homeless or at war etc. etc. then its already happened and what else is there to fear#if I've been through everything already in mind?#I'm hoping that the worst case scenarios don't transpire but I can't ignore the fact many of them could and probably will happen#in some capacity but I can control the actions I take through prep and facing these fears one by one#and most importantly sticking to routine by making sure im healthy to help people#anyway this is why ive been quiet for a while besides for spending time with friends and loved ones recently to get over what happened#im going to keep going to my classes keep helping people through my jobs try to be creative when I have spoons and little by little#make sure I have enough of what I need to get through the storm and outlive the bastards in power#I'm not sure what sort of pink variant to assign this to but its along the magenta spectrum#love you guys#we'll get through this

Hi everyone, I'm writing on behalf of Eyad from Gaza. Eyad's GoFundMe is vetted #24 on this spreadsheet. He has started an on the ground mutual aid charity to provide necessities to his community. The Ever Mile Foundation.
As we're all aware, aid from humanitarian operations has been blocked by Zionists from entering Gaza for the last 6 weeks and is ongoing indefinitely. The scarcity created by this blockade has skyrocketed prices of basic necessities like flour, sugar, eggs, bottled water, etc and is causing starvation and sickness. Aid operations on the ground are currently the only organisations providing resources.
If you're struggling with the idea of donating to individual family fundraisers, donating to charities run by Gazans on the ground means anything you can give is helping many Palestinians get much needed resources. If, like me, you can't donate, please consider sharing this so this post finds those who can help.
Eyad also wished for me to share these photos of the Ever Mile Foundation at work amidst the genocide. Please, share and/or donate. Everything helps 🇵🇸
CURRENTLY: $5K/$20K USD

So I'm not the one to ask for help so I've been very hesitant on sharing, but got some news last week that I will be homeless by June (and no, this is not an awful april fools joke, I am panicking here).
Some of you in the vulture culture community know last week and a bit ago I had an accident resulting in losing consciousness, breaking my neck, and experiencing a seizure for the first time. I've been having ongoing brain issues (we removed a lot of cerebral fluid in December that was causing increased pressure and testing the fluid to rule out infection, diagnosed with IIH), and last month I've been having heart issues.
Referrals have been made to a cardiology specialist, as well as the first fit clinic. But it's looking like I will probably have to go private to get listened to / get the care I need ASAP. Couple with the fact I will be homeless by June, it's a really terrifying situation. I have contacted local councils, independent living schemes, shelter, private landlords etc and feel like I've been let down. I'm awaiting a doctors appointment with a NHS advisor on the 10th, where I'll be showing them my list of resources I've used, and to see if they are able to help find anything.
I reluctantly made a justgiving page, on the advice of my friends, and while I hate asking for help, I am honestly quite scared and uncertain about my future.
If anyone can share the link, reblog this post, or even donate some change. It would mean a lot.
Thank you for your time, I'm sorry for posting this here but I don't know what else to do. I will be continuing to work on the skull index, as its such big passion project of mine along with the help of my team. Its a great distraction.

‼️ URGENT ‼️
Ashely Phil has reached out to me to share this video!
Although groups are being sent to Canada, they still need resources like food and water, medicine, tents, mosquito nets, repairs (especially because of the destructive rainy season), warm clothes and suitcases, etc. It is dangerous for the LGBTQ+ community, since the environment is so hostile and hate crimes are common.
Please consider donating, and please share!

hi would like to make this clear that this is gonna be an unhinged rant about my college classes.
For context, one of my classes is a semester-long group project (hell) and I pitched the idea of solar powered community fridges to my group and we rolled with it. Here's a post i made on it previously. We don't have to make the fridges themselves, basically just talk about the problem our concept addresses (food insecurity in this case) and how we think this concept would work and how, in a hypothetical reality where we made it real, we would test to see if it worked.
Anyways we had to post the rough draft of our presentations so people in other groups could see what we were doing and comment on them with their thoughts and all. Yknow. Classic 'college class discussion board have to reply to at least one project with quality feedback' stuff. And
Man.
I am so frustrated.
Highlights:
My group keeps insisting that we should have an app for the solar fridges. I don't know why they think app design needs to fit into community fridges but they put it into the draft posted to the forum.
In this case they proposed the app would be kinda like Instacart? Where people who want to donate to the fridges but don't have groceries on them and don't feel like going to get groceries can put in money and then people will then go buy the groceries to put in the fridge. Or use the funds to help with fridge maintenance. And the fridges would have 'QR codes, links, etc. to connect community members for the common cause of helping tackle food insecurity in the community.'
Lots of the comments were pretty good! People liked the idea. There were some concerns about insulation and keeping things cool with low energy cost (the program is online but the college itself is in Georgia USA so many people are in Georgia) but yknow.
But the frustrating part to me I guess is that a lot of people seem convinced that people would use the fridges 'unfairly' and that we'd need to find a way to restrict how much food people can take out or how many times they can use it or something. Which frankly in my opinion defeats the purpose of it being a community fridge. Here are some examples of things people have said so far (comments are due tomorrow evening but I'm mad now so I'm venting now):
One student said "How will you know if the pantry is being utilized fairly?" and "How will the app work? In a dream world, this might be a way to help with tracking and accountability. (Just a thought…) Maybe folks would need to sign up on the app, they get a code… and the fridge acts as a sort of vending machine to deliver what they need. This would give you data to measure success. :)"
Which. I just. This feels completely antithetical to the purpose of a community fridge??? Or a community anything???? Little free pantries and little free libraries don't operate on a 'you get a code to access it once' vending machine basis?? We even mentioned community farm stalls/community pantries in the draft write up! And showed examples!
Another student said "Great thoughts. I am concerned about one person taking all the food for themselves. It might be a great idea to have them in an enclosed area with access control through the app that would log and lock out people who are overusing the resource. Perhaps a barcode could be added to Apple Wallet to track each individual's arrival? Possibly having a mechanized lock and opening mechanism that would only allow each fridge to be open for a specific time before automatically closing and locking? Each scan would only allow access once each 24-48 hour period, preventing "password sharing.""
I cannot emphasize enough that this is the comment that has brought me here today because with all due respect what the flying fuck do you think is the point of a community fridge! I'm already prickly about the idea of limiting access to the fridge itself to only people with cellphones, but to this degree?! Like maybe its because I'm the one who came up with the concept and I care about terms like 'mutual aid' and 'community building' and 'judgement free accessibility to food' but have these people not heard of the concept of helping people?!?! With no strings attached?!? If someone takes all the contents of a community fridge or pantry--which, seriously, how likely is that--they're probably hungry and need it! The concept of putting community resources behind a lock and limiting accessibility is just repulsive to me???
Like someone else commented with this excellent point--"As several have addressed above, I am also wondering how would you monitor use? If you use the simplicity of the honor system, it could easily be taken advantage of. However, I feel like if you were to create some sort of access code, how is it to say that they people needing the use of the fridge will have access to the necessary technology to get the code? It's a tricky situation to think about." For the purposes of this hypothetical assignment where we'd need to track how many people are using the fridges? Yeah I guess we'd need to be able to track how many people use it and when. But in reality??? In real life reality where people are living and struggling and hungry??? I just don't really give a shit!! Helping five people is better than helping none, and locking access behind technology everyone pretends is universal but really isn't is not the way to help!
And of course one of my groupmates is already commenting on all these posts like 'oh! I really like the idea of restricting access to a code! :)' even when someone said 'hey my family struggled with food insecurity when I was a kid and I think this would be helpful but not if you could only access it with an app some of the most vulnerable citizens wouldn't be able to access it I wouldn't have been able to access it' my groupmate was still like 'oh but that wouldn't be a problem today now would it? :) Maybe we should make a way to get a code without downloading the app :)' like maybe there shouldn't be an access code in the first place?!?!
Like am I crazy or like. What the fuck. Again I am here so I don't blow up on a bunch of masters students in a discussion post but like UGH
"you gotta be able to gague if the people who're using it are the people who actually need it" food insecurity can look so many different ways for so many different reasons and you can't always judge by appearances and income levels who is struggling to feed themselves or their families!! There are people who have nice jobs who are struggling because they're caring for sick family members or kids or dealing with student loans or ANYTHING! There are people with nice clothes who are trying to decide between buying groceries and paying rent! There are people living in their cars or couch surfing looking for jobs who also happen to own an XBox or a Laptop!!! "Sorry you can't access the community fridge because you don't look poor and needy enough to me. but if you do, good news--you can only use it once every 48 hours so make it last!" Bullshit utter bullshit.
I talk to people in my life about things like community fridges and little free pantries and mutual aid and the like and people are always like 'ok but theres gotta be strings attatched' BUT ACTUALLY NO THERE DON'T GOTTA!!! Maybe we could change how we view our fellow human beings and stop assuming that everyone around you are greedy little demons looking to ruin everything good and that you are the only holy and righteous saint on the streets who understands the concept of 'community resources' and 'sharing' maybe??? It's like that post about community fruit trees where people are like 'oh but what if people steal all the fruit' like HELLO? how do you STEAL a PUBLICALLY ACCESSIBLE RESOURCE
I'm tired of this goddamn class I'm tired of this goddamn group project if anyone actually has the ability to make a solar powered community fridge you have to promise to keep it accessible and not put it behind locks and QR codes and limited access and facial tracking BS promise me promise me promise me

Would you please pray for my family's financial and especially housing situation? When our dad passed there was a lot of money owed to him from clients that never got paid, and now we're having difficulty finding the paperwork with all the invoices. We were going to use the money to build or buy a new house bc the one we inherited from him (and currently live in) is dilapidated. Thankfully, it's held together enough that we can still live in it, but there's so many holes, and so much rot and mold, some rooms are completely unliveable, and some others will be rendered unusable if certain holes get worse. We all work full time jobs (3 of us live here) but it's only enough to pay bills and groceries, not save up. I'm just at a loss. We can't keep going like this. Thank you.
Of course. And if you feel comfortable, you can set up a fundraiser that can help cover some of those costs. I would be more than happy to share it here for my followers to donate to / share. Something I would also suggest, is getting in touch with as many organisations as you can. They can offer better advice and provide resources, and some of them have ways of cutting down costs or getting you extra money for the situations that you're currently struggling with.
Reach out to housing organisations, mental health charities, money/finance organisations etc. They can provide a lot of information on things that you can do to make your situation more manageable, and they can often help you with things like filling out paperwork and putting in referrals to organisations that you might not otherwise be able to get into contact with. I would also recommend getting in touch with Churches in your area, who may be able to offer some support - at the very least they should be able to offer you some prayers. Sometimes they will know of people that attend their Church that work in a particular field such as housing and they may be able to get you in touch with them. Reach out to as many people as possible, the support they can provide will be incredibly helpful at making things more manageable for you.
Here is a collection of prayers:
Most Holy Apostle St. Jude Thaddeus, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of the enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases and of things despaired of.  Pray for me who am so needy; make use, I implore you of that particular privilege accorded to you to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired.  Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings particularly (here mention your petition) and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity.  I promise you, O blessed Jude to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you.  Amen. O Holy St. Jude, Apostle and Martyr, great in virtue and rich in miracles, near kinsman of Jesus Christ, faithful intercessor of all who invoke your special patronage in time of need, to you I have recourse from the depth of my heart and humbly beg to whom God has given such great power to come to my assistance.  Help me in my present and urgent petition.  In return, I promise to make your name known and cause you to be invoked.  St. Jude pray for us all who invoke your aid.  Amen. Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, I place myself into your hands at this difficult time.  Help me to know that I am not alone.  Please pray for me, asking God to send me comfort for my sorrows, bravery for my fears, and healing for my suffering.  Ask our loving God to strengthen my faith and give me the courage to accept His Will for my life. Thank you, St. Jude, for the hope you offer to all who believe in you.  Amen.
These are three prayers put together, but I think praying these prayers collectively as a kind of Novena prayer should be of great benefit and comfort to you.
And here is a prayer for the intercession of the Mother of God for your loved ones. I've combined it with the Memorare as that seems the most fitting:
Blessed Mother of those whose names you can read in my heart, watch over them with every care. Make their way easy and their labors fruitful. Dry their tears if they weep; sanctify their joys; raise their courage if they weaken; restore their hope if they lose heart, their health if they be ill, truth if they err, and repentance if they fall. Amen. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

An intro to my blog; Witchcraft, tarot, and general unhinged energy.
Bare-bones/TL;DR: My name is Frog or Froggo, whichever you prefer, I use he/him pronouns and this is a blog dedicated primarily to my practice as a witch. I do tarot readings over on Ko-FI, as well as some on here that are donation-based (You tip if you want, but you don't have to.) Donation-based readings are temporary to promote the paid readings, and I'll be closing requests once I feel I have a decent amount of people interested (or if i find that it isn't working and I'm just instead giving free readings and no paid readings.) Send in an ask for a donation-based reading, or head on over to my Ko-Fi if you want more of a guarantee that I'll get to your reading/want your reading prioritized. Please check the bottom of this post for what readings I do/don't do before sending an ask.
Tumblr media
Me:
I go by Froggo or Frog
He/him pronouns
Trans, panromantic, polyamorous, and just generally queer.
auDHD
20
Quiet sunshine and rainbows type of guy, until you get to know me and then suddenly I won't shush and I keep talking about psychological horror
interests outside of witchcraft include writing, Genshin Impact (I promise I don't associate with the fandom they scare me so bad), music, anime, and "weird miscellaneous facts."
My craft:
I've been practicing off and on for about four years, but I've been around witchcraft my whole life. I no longer consider myself a beginner, but I wouldn't consider myself a beacon of knowledge either lol. I know enough to be comfortable practicing on my own, and giving others a few resources. If I ever post something with inaccurate information, something that appropriates any closed practices, or something that is otherwise not advisable, PLEASE let me know!
My interests in witchcraft include Tarot/oracle cards, deity work, crystals, and working with dragons. (Although, that last one is very new to me so I have very little experience to share so far.)
My work as a witch has begun to shape out as involving things that others fear and reject. I personally find this hilarious considering that I used to be so scared of everything.
I work with Persephone, Hades, Medusa, my familiar, Loki, Apollo, Aphrodite, and Khaos. They appeared to me in that order, with Aphrodite and Khaos being fairly recent additions as I'm typing this. (5/12/24) Note that this is a list of EVERYONE I work with at all, and some of them (like Medusa) only rarely show up in my life currently while others are more active.
I have a sideblog about my work with dragons, @officially-other, but it's so heavy on UPG, identity talk, feelings, etc. that I keep it separate from this blog. It's brand new as of editing but I plan on it being completely transparent.
Tumblr media
Things to expect from me: An unreasonable amount of witchcraft memes, lots of fun little stories about my guides/deities and interactions with them, general stories about my craft. My asks are open, but I may not always have an answer to any questions! See the "not a beacon of knowledge" bullet point earlier.
DNI: Racists, misogynists, trans/homophobes, ableists, bigots of any kind, pɘdo, I feel like I'm forgetting something but overall just don't be an asshole okay??? Plz???? Thank you. 16+ minors are okay, below that you can follow and lurk just please don't start a proper conversation. (/lh, lighthearted)
Tumblr media
TERMS FOR READINGS
Yes I know this is a bit long. I don't require that you read this but I don't answer asks with problems that could be solved by just reading this. I am no longer doing readings for anon asks, so please be off anon. Paid readings and any Tumblr readings that tip/donate beforehand will be prioritized, but other than that please be patient- when I post readings, I often get a lot of asks that takes weeks to get through.
Readings I will do:
General readings
Love readings (PLEASE check that it doesn't fall under "won't do" first)
Readings with a specific deity or entity (Paid readings get channeled typing,)
Pretty much anything that isn't on the "wont" list. (I reserve the right to say 'no' if something is brought up that I'm uncomfortable with but didn't think to put below.)
Readings I wont do:
Physical health readings (go see a professional)
Anything that constitutes "mind reading" (instead of "how does [person] truly feel" try "what's left being unsaid" or "what do I need to know" type questions.)
Sexual readings
Readings on a voice chat/call (yet)
Deity Identification readings (just not confident in them)
future spouse readings for free (I will do them paid, I just do the free readings to promote + for fun, and future spouse readings aren't fun for me)

hello. i really enjoy your content, but i have to say i'm kinda disappointed on you still being a ts fan. this woman knows what disney does and yet she still gave them the rights, meaning she either doesn't care or actively supports the genocide. or maybe she decided to turn her morals off because money is more important. not to mention how she consistently associates herself with questionable people and how a person literally died in one of her shows on brazil and she gave zero fucks. this woman is not a good person and there are no excuses to being her fan anymore.
no, i fully understand what you're saying and where you're coming from. over the last like. idk year and a half? ive been pretty vocal about my disappointment, distaste, and disagreement with a multitude of the choices she's made lately. i 100% agree that her silence on the subject of palestinian genocide (as well as many other human rights/social causes) is at best a sign of apathy and at worst a sign of support. especially when miss americana was all about her wanting to be more outspoken and be an activist. that all feels so incredibly performative now -- and has for a while. a lot of things that she's said and done since midnights, which is when i became more active in the tumblr swiftie community, have left a bad taste in my mouth for her as a person.
like i said, i genuinely agree with what you're saying. the only thing i take issue with is that she didn't care that a fan died at her show. she donated money to the fan's family and took time to meet them. regardless of my many issues with her, i do think she can be an empathetic person and i don't think that she just straight up didn't care that someone died before her show. it's one of those things (of which there are many) where we'll never know her true thoughts bc she doesn't talk about things. which is frustrating in itself.
now that's not the point of your message, so feel free to write that off as a digression. i strongly disagree with her making yet another version of the eras tour movie and hosting it on disney+. I'm personally boycotting disney+ and have been for a while. I don't even intend on watching the new version and like the vast majority of everything I gif, that shit is pirated -- that's how I watched the original release of the movie. obviously my consumption/boycotting is just one person compared to blondie, who has influence over millions, who could make real change if she spoke out against genocide.
at this point, im not supporting her financially either apart from listening to her music. which i love. im sorry, but I do. if I didn't, we wouldn't be having this conversation. i think her constant churning out different exclusive versions of the same albums are a transparent money grab and maybe an effort to set more records as far as sales or streams or however that all works. and I'm not just saying that bc I literally couldn't even afford to buy a digital copy of an album right now.
so yeah. I appreciate that you enjoy my content and thank you for saying so, but if you need to unfollow or block, i understand. I've definitely toned down/completely stopped sharing posts about her as a person bc I'd much rather focus on just the music. and maybe that makes me a bad person for continuing to listen to and enjoy her music. im not saying i necessarily feel good about it, but i think the fact of the matter is that a lot of the celebrities, actors, musicians, etc. we like or whose content we enjoy hold views we disagree with and have different values or priorities. nuance exists. right now, im someone who is vocal about the palestinian genocide and I try to share resources/posts about it when they come across my dash and im also someone who is a fan of Taylor's music.
Idk, I hope what I'm saying makes sense at least on some level. I've done my best to word things coherently, but brain fog fucks w me a lot. and like. it's probably whatever, but I do plan on changing my url after ttpd releases. That probably upsets you more and I can see how people might think im a hypocrite or something and yeah, I get it. Idk, I just want to enjoy someone's music without endorsing them as a person, but that's extra difficult when the person in question is the biggest singer in the industry. but you'll never see me making excuses for her on things like this or the m*tty situation or numerous other things she's said and done that gross me out. im not so far up her ass that I think she's perfect or that I feel the need to defend her at every turn. like I said, nuance. anyway, if you feel the need to respond, i welcome you to do so as long as we both remain respectful, which I think we've done. this is a difficult topic, but that doesn't mean we can't discuss it. I appreciate your point of view and I'm sorry that I've disappointed you!

Mutual Aid Mondays: 3/13/2025
An Important Message From Our Crabtain:
As some of you may have noticed, I suck real bad at keeping up with social media. Having the physical energy of a koala doesn't help much. That said, I'm thankful that we have a silly queer little group going that keeps me on track. We've been brainstorming all sorts of ideas recently, and, well, we'll be throwing some new ideas into our schedule, one of them being...
Tumblr media
One of our regular distro spots in so-called San Bernadino was recently swept entirely. If I had to estimate, there were about 75 houseless neighbors displaced from this spot, swept by the city, with no real resources or offers to ensure their safety or shelter. We would keep up with disabled folks who had questions about ADA, and they were included in the sweep with no real accommodations. The city will even pick and choose through out neighbors who to arrest and who to provide resources. In the meantime, I've been keeping up with those I've been able to stay connected with.
As usual, law enforcement neither knows nor cares about the law. Anyways...
I've also heard recently that mutual aid may not be seen as anti-imperialist, anti-war. This is a ridiculous notion. To recognize imperialism, we should also recognize that every struggle across the globe is interconnected.
Every struggle across our planet stems from the greed of the small fraction of people who will wipe their crusty dusty asses with golden toilet paper on one of their yachts while watching our neighbors suffer in the streets, sending bombs to drop and drones to strike, watching climate crisis-induced disasters wipe out communities, watching the people struggle to survive while they swim in the spoils of the working class.
Mutual aid is one of the many ways to fight against these ruling class bastards. If you care about what's going on across the globe, you should also care about what's going on right in front of you, in your own neighborhood, in your own community. It's really not that hard to care about humanity as a whole.
So, starting today and ongoing every Monday, we'll be sharing out ongoing mutual aid and ask everyone else to share theirs in the comments.
If you don't know where to start, DM us or your local mutual aid group. Come along for the ride, get to know your neighbors, hear our stories, share your skills, fight back against the system we're forced to live under.
Other ways to take part include making meals, providing a kitchen, donating items, donating funds, etc. If you would like to donate funds, our tag on the V and C apps are BreakthroughMA.
(Apps not spelled out to prevent censorship from the Zuckman - DM for clarification!)

@hamhamclubhouse
Name: Tyson

From: Washington
Started listening to LGH? 2021
What is your favorite episode of the pod? Hmmm... I love the Ningen episode and any episode where Nat talks about treasure
Tell us something haunted! Personal haunting, favorite haunted story, etc. One time I saw a UFO at church camp. I was also featured in the Hat Man episode talking about my family's experience with the entity.
Tumblr media
What hobbies do you have? I grow carnivorous plants, specifically nepenthes! I'm a big physical media dork, I have a collection of J horror movies from the early 2000s.
Tumblr media
What's a personal positive haunting that's happened to you? It can be something small! The other day an owl tried to steal my hat. I was mad at first but then I was like "you know what, that was actually fuckin cool"
What's a fun fact about you? I used to work for Nintendo but it was actually too haunted to even talk about. My name is in the credits for a Zelda game tho!
Tumblr media
Favourite Music: I get really annoying with my musical taste. You can tell I'm a weird pop gay. Eartheater, Björk, Joanna Newsom, Donormaal and Cocorosie are some of my faves, but I won't bore you with the rest!
Is there a charity, non-profit, or cause you'd like to shout out?
Ceasefire now!
American Resources | Canadian Resources
Usually I would link to a nice and easy charity to donate to for the citizens of Gaza, but since Israel is blocking aid, the best thing we can do is put pressure on local politicians and join in on protests.
Are you a content creator? I'm on IG @hauntedbeanbagchair69
Anything else you'd like to share? I started listening to LGH when I was very sick in and out of the hospital. I eventually had to get surgery to remove an apple-sized schwannoma from behind my heart. Nat and Aly gave me a good laugh through the whole experience, so I'm a hauntie for life 🤘
Do you want to be the next Hauntie of the Week?

A Shot for Life;
Non-Profit organizations have become very creative when it comes to asking for donations. No longer are people standing outside the grocery store with a can or bucket. Social media allows organizations to reach a greater audience with the click of a button. It also allows you to get creative asking for donations, promote events etc... However, if you are not using social media correctly, you are missing out on the advantages. Social media is crucial for nonprofits.  Nonprofit Tech For Good wrote of 5 big reasons why. A few being that it is accessible by billions of people, it is tailor made for your selective audience and it expands your fundraising resources.
A non-profit that I have big interest in is A Shot For Life
They are an organization that hosts competitive sporting events to help raise money for medical research. I did some deep diving into their socials and I'm going to break down their vanity metrics. I began with their instagram. They currently have 10.4k followers. In their last 15 posts there are a mix of reels and posts which is great variety. Based on their top 10 posts they average about 517 likes per post.  They do a great job at posting with college and professional athletes, getting their followers access to the content. I checked out their Facebook page next. They currently have 1.8K Likes and 1.9K Followers. That is quite a drop in followers if you compare platforms. Scrolling through their Facebook feed I did notice their posts are mostly photos. That being said the discrepancy in followers from Instagram to Facebook makes sense. Their last 33 posts have 0 likes, 0 comments and 0 shares. Their Facebook engagement is extremely low. The final platform that I explored was their X account  formally known as Twitter. On X, A shot for life has 3k followers. Their last ten posts have an average of .6 comments, 5.6 retweets and 19.3 likes. Like Facebook their X page does not have much activity or engagement. After going through their socials, I've come up with a few suggestions that I believe will help create more of an engagement opportunity for them. For starters on all platforms, A Shot for Life needs to have more hashtags. They hashtag their name but using trending topics that pertain to their cause or their event can bump their post. That'll give them a broader audience and hopefully draw in some engagement. My second suggestion is for all platforms as well. I noticed A Shot for Life does not tag the people in their post in pictures. When tagging others, your post shows up on their feeds and their friends feeds. This is a great way to reach an audience you typically wouldn't. I had not heard of A shot for life prior to this year. Someone I was friends with on Facebook shared her nieces post that has A Shot for life tagged. Had my friend never shared and tagged them I would have never seen their content.

I'm a very introverted civil servant with quite a small social circle. I'm a yes voter and want to help with the campaign but I don't know any no voters to win over and I can't associate directly with any organised political activity because of the civil service code. I'm struggling to come up with ideas to help the cause other than like maybe donate when I can. Any ideas?
Great question, donating is a great way to help, as is creating an online alias to share info and resources if you can’t do it under personal accounts.
Another way to help is embed yourself in more of the strategy side of the campaign if you can’t be out canvassing etc.

Hello! I saw your ethical residence under colonialism post and I know you get a lot of people commenting on it so feel free to absolutely ignore me.
I do believe that it is important to combat issues like colonialism as much as possible. You said that it required the "abolition of colonial authority over land usage" and this is done through "widespread institutional changes" (sorry for quoting but you're the first person I saw talking about it and really don't have any other language to go off of) but do you have any ideas of what individuals can do to fight this? I'm one person but I'd like to do what I can and id be grateful for any information or ideas you're willing to share!
(Also, if there's any changes to my question or usage of language in asking that would be more respectful or helpful, please let me know! I'm trying to learn about this but im very new to this issue, sorry!)
Opposition to colonial governance requires the creation of dualpower/counterpower which challenges government monopoly on necessary services. I’m going to specifically talk about food for this response.
“He who feeds you, controls you.” - Thomas Sankara
BIPOC communities are disproportionately food deserts, meaning they have little or no access to groceries. (And thus rely upon fast food, etc.) This is not some quirky coincidence, but rather another symptom of the slow-motion genocide experienced by BIPOC in the USA.
Food is the foundation of health - and deprivation of a healthy diet causes long term physical and mental harm to the residents living in a food desert. This in turn also lowers the somatic energy required to fight against unjust systems, reducing revolutionary capabilities of the afflicted populations.
Systems like food stamps are insufficient (making enough money to pay rent will often disqualify you) and create dependence upon the government for scraps. To act in solidarity we need to create alternative networks of food distribution which prioritize BIPOC communities.
However genuine distribution of power is not the same thing as charity. Simply showing up and dumping off some donated food will not challenge the system, or the power dynamics involved. We must build systems which allow these communities to gain greater self-sufficiency and we must fight to defend those projects from colonialist forces.
(Read that quote again, charity is still a form of control.)
Every community has different needs. If you want to help a community, you need to get in touch with those people and say “These are my resources, skills, and abilities; how can I use them to help?” - otherwise you might arrange something that is (to put it bluntly) a condescending display of the white savior complex.
Chances are projects already exist in those communities which you could join in solidarity. However on a smaller scale if you know families who could use assistance, you can always start there. Keep in mind that since needing assistance is a serious cultural taboo in the USA many people will be afraid to admit their needs and we must learn to approach those subjects in ways that respect the dignity of the people we want to help.

I fully support black lives matter, what can I do to help? I'm white and I live in the UK, and I don't have enough of my own money to donate. I've been signing petitions but is there anything else I can do? Happy pride month, I wish it didn't have to start like this.
Hi! Unfortunately times are very disheartening and stressful, remember to take care of yourselves physically and mentally, that’s important.
Here are some ways you can show your support for blm without donating/if you don’t live in the US:
Make sure the truth gets out! A lot of what’s actually happening at protests (aka who’s actually causing the violence: cops, proven undercover cops, looters not associated with the protests who are taking advantage) is getting twisted or completely ignored by main news networks, especially Fox News.
Stay on top of what’s going on with protests, I personally use tiktok since a lot of people who are protesting put what’s happening straight from the front lines on there, and show what the news doesn’t care to.
Show solidarity on social media. You could post links to resources or fundraisers (make sure to confirm they’re legit); post, reblog, etc. educational information related to blm. Just make sure to prioritise black people’s voices and not speak over anyone with actual, lived experience of the issues at hand.
Of course, spread petitions/bail funds for protesters!
Feel free everyone to share more ways to show your support for black people and the black lives matter movement.

i know you think CR isn't doing enough which is understandable, i'm pretty out of the loop with their announcements and pretty much focus only on the actual play but do you think the mcelroy family is doing enough? i know they said something about their ad revenue being donated but i dont know how much that actually amounts to
i just touched on this briefly in another ask but i’ll elaborate here. i think the bar for white people is on the floor when it comes to anti-racist work. i think at minimum what white creators should be doing right now is elevating black voices, educating themselves, speaking out to their audiences and putting their money where their mouth is. again, this is THE MINIMUM. so on that note, yeah, the mcelroys are doing the minimum. they donated $10K to the national bail project and the CUSS show Travis is part of donated to the Cincinnati bail fund. this is in addition to speaking out on their platforms, hosting Minority Korner on their feed, sharing resources about prison abolition! etc. again, please understand: this is what every single white creator with a platform should be doing right now.
CR hosted a roundtable discussion featuring black RPGers on their twitch channel (as did several other channels, so it wasn’t a “critical role” thing...) and they’ve shared links and highlighted black creators on their website. but CR has a truly enormous following. it is beyond me why they haven’t initiated any fundraisers as a company. they could raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for any cause they wanted, they have that much pull. they could AT LEAST donate the proceeds of their merch sales to a cause, since they literally just released a Nott flask a few days ago. but so far, nothing.
so please believe that i am not putting anyone on a pedestal here. just noting that CR isn’t even doing the bare minimum.
