may I please request a Luffy x fem reader (they aren’t together yet) but Luffy has a big crush on the reader without realizing and he’s always super touchy with her without thinking anything of it, like always holding her or picking her up when they’re on adventures and protecting her too all without realizing until the crew makes a comment about it to him, I think it would be super adorable. thank you!
this is such a cute idea oh my GOD. it feels so accurate for luffy too, i just love him so much. thank you for the request as well! it's actually my first ever one! i hope it suffices.
so it's love, then?

pairing: luffy x female! reader warnings: none! word count: 915
ever since you joined the crew, luffy had always thought there was something different about you - something special about you. he was just so drawn towards you, more than anybody else. and he couldn't put his finger on why.
of course, he loved all his friends with his whole heart, but for some reason he didn't understand, when he was around you, he would get a different feeling inside, almost ticklish, making his heart feel funny.
why do i feel like this? i guess it's pretty nice though!
he didn't know what it was, but he sure as heck loved it.
he just can't keep his eyes off of you, but more than that, he can't keep himself off of you. he's always scooping you up to which you laugh in surprise, diving in to hug you close after a successful battle, and practically hanging off your arms when you're busy with a task. even in fights, he can't help but protect you more than needed.
and the worst part is, he never thinks anything of it. little does he know how much his actions make you feel. how you have to hide your excitement when he pulls you in for a hug, or your contentment when he carries you around playfully. he's practically killing you and he doesn't even know it.
and it's like everyone can see it but him.
one afternoon on the sunny, luffy is kicking back on the grass, his head resting on his hands and his eyes closed, about to take a nap. until suddenly, he hears your voice as you're leaving the galley - and and it's like he was never tired at all. he can't help but grin cheekily and stretch his arms to scoop you up above him in the air.
"hey! LUFFY!" you yell in surprise. "w-what're you doing?"
"i don't know," he starts laughing. "i just feel like i want you near me!"
before you can object, he gently puts you down next to him on the grass, your faces close. you're afraid to even breathe wrong as luffy refuses to look away from you, still smiling as if it's nothing. he feels that funny feeling in his chest again and he doesn't want it to end.
he's about to say something, until you both hear footsteps nearing. you both turn over and to see the entire crew standing with bewildered looks on their faces.
"i hope we're not interrupting anything," usopp teases. your face feels hot at his comment. you look over to luffy but he just looks lost.
"interrupting? interrupting what?" he raises an eyebrow. "and why are you all just standing there?"
"well, luffy, we've been needing to ask," nami starts as she looks down at you both. "i mean, i know it's not our business but... haven't you been a bit... touchy with y/n lately?"
you freeze. you can't believe that everyone is collectively agreeing as they nod at what nami's said. you try to say something but suddenly you've forgotten every single word in your vocabulary. instead, luffy speaks.
"touchy? when have i been doing that?" luffy tilts his head, genuinely confused at the observation.
"RIGHT NOW!" everyone practically says in unison as they look at his arm which is suddenly around you. your eyes widen - even you didn't even realise it was there.
luffy bursts out laughing, before eventually composing himself again. "i guess i am kinda touchy, aren't i? but i don't get it. why's that bad?"
nami shakes her head. "it's nothing bad, of course. it's just... well, with how affectionate you are with y/n... always hugging her, play-fighting with her, picking her up-"
"it's like you're in love with her or something!" brook bursts out, unable to help himself as everybody laughs.
your eyes feel like they're about to jump out of their sockets. "w-what? don't be silly... luffy's just being luffy. right, luffy...?" you stutter out, looking at him desperately to say something. but the captain who would normally laugh along at brook's outburst and is usually full of words is awfully quiet... and in thought.
"love?" luffy whispers to nobody at all as he gives it thought. every time he's wrapped his rubber arms around you tightly with affection, every time he's protected you in heated battles, every time he's fought the urge to kiss you - they all flash through his mind. with every time, he always craved you more. would that explain the funny feeling in his heart he gets when he's near you?
"now that you say it, i guess i am in love with you!" luffy laughs loudly before noticing everyone's jaws, including yours, all dropping to the floor. "what? what's wrong?"
you feel like you might faint. the weight of his words that he's just admitted so casually feel like a boulder just dropped on top of you. "you... love me? you're serious?"
"well, i know for a fact that luffy's practically incapable of lying," sanji adds, lowering his cigarette with a smile. "so you have no choice but to believe him, dear."
not giving you another second, luffy is already on his feet. "man, i love you so much! it makes so much sense now." he hauls you over his shoulders playfully to everyone's amusement, leaving your legs dangling over him and it's too late to object. yet you can't help but laugh and neither does the crew.
"that explains why i just can't let go of you!"

Would you be willing to do One Piece characters with a reader who has a bunch of tattoos? And maybe if a person insults them or treats them differently because of it. I wore something with my tattoos visible and wasn't allowed into a business, I thought it would be a cool read 😂
Tattooed Hearts (Luffy, Sanji, Zoro)

Pairings: Luffy x Reader; Sanji x Reader; Zoro x Reader Summary: His reaction to someone treating you differently or being rude because of your tattoos. Warnings: Hurt, Comfort & Fluff, Female Reader A/N: I'm so sorry that happened to you, tattoos are such a beautiful form of self-expression and no one deserves that treatment!! I decided to do the monster trio for this fic, I hope you like it!! <3 [One Piece Masterlist] _____
- Luffy -
Luffy absolutely adores your tattoos and thinks the unique ways they cover your skin are the coolest. Of course, he does. You were already a badass girlfriend with the courage and strength to stand by him as he became the Pirate King. But the patterns and ink that adorn your skin spark his curiosity as much as they perfect the image of you.
That's why when you are both wandering the streets of an Island, he may not initially notice the treatment you receive because of your tattoos. Luffy is already quite an oblivious person, and so does not pick up on the subtle ways food vendors and shopkeepers look at you and your skin purposefully. He is simply in his head again, joyous about the prospect of trying new foods and embarking on an adventure.
However, if there is something Luffy can pick up on easily, it is when you are uncomfortable. He turns to you when you seem a bit quiet and you haven't been chiming into his idle words. He observes the way you keep your head lower than usual, your tension as you squeeze your hands tight and subtly look around you. His first instinct is to look for danger, but when he sees none he simply goes to the second best guess: that you were hungry.
So, he would unravel one of your clenched hands in his and beam widely. "Come on [y/n], that place looks nice!" You would feel uncertainty fill you as of course as you have noticed the unfriendly stares you have received. "Wait Luffy, I'm not sure that's such a good idea-" But your boyfriend as usual has dragged you to a food vendor before you can finish your words.
Almost instantly, your concerns are answered, as the man who runs the shop takes one look at you and frowns. He turns to an eager Luffy and instantly cuts off his abundance of orders. "Sorry, we don't have any food on offer today." Luffy's confusion is almost immediate as he turns to the vendor and then to the food that fills his stall. "What are you talking about, there's so much food there, stop being stingy!"
The vendor sighs and then turns to you, your lips downturn, knowing whatever he has to say to you won't exactly be a compliment. "Fine, we might be able to make an expectation for you, but don't think we're serving anything to your lady friend." Luffy's eyes spark dangerously at his words, impatience brimming as he finally starts to realise the bias the vendor has against you.
"Why? We're both hungry!" The man grimaces, turning away from you and ignoring Luffy's angry words. "Are you sure you can even afford this, with all that ink on your skin?" It only takes about a beat of a second, and suddenly instead of going to give the man a piece of your mind, he had disappeared from view: Luffy had punched him to the floor without even a second thought. "Lu-" you start, eyes wide at the sight, but Luffy's face is of a rage you only see in battle.
"Hey, old man. Stop being rude to [y/n]. We just wanted some food, if you're not going to give us that, you're a waste of our time."
- Sanji -
Sanji loves you, and your tattoos are one of the things he absolutely adores about you. The way they so intricately cover your skin, and the intimacy he finds when you tell him what they mean and why you got them provokes such love in him he can't describe. It feels like you are letting him in, and showing a part of you from your past, it feels like he is learning more about you; the person he loved. He loves running his hands over them, loves the way they almost perfect the image of you in his mind.
He wouldn't be able to believe if you ever told him you were treated differently because of them. It might honestly break his heart if he hears you have been insulted or refused certain things just because of the art form upon your skin. They were so perfect and beautiful, how could anyone think otherwise? How could anyone treat you that way? Unfortunately, however, you have already started to notice the sparing looks of the locals on the island you are both wandering, tinted with looks of displeasure.
Your boyfriend is of course too lost in your gaze to notice at first.
He only seems to notice when your rapid words have faded into unsure sentences, and your body language screams of discomfort he curses not to have recognised earlier. "Love, are you okay?" He asks, concern brimming in his eyes, and gaze darting around you, seeing if there was a danger he had yet to notice. He only then seems to see how some of the people who walk the streets are looking at you more than he would've liked. "Love if you want we can leave-"
You find yourself shaking your head, not wanting to be a bother to your boyfriend but also not being able to form a smile reassuring enough for him. "It's okay love, I'm okay. We can keep exploring, I know you still need to pick up groceries." Sanji looks to you, and struggles to believe your words but ultimately nods hesitantly. "Okay love but if you want us to leave you know I'll be happy to-"
It is at that moment, that Sanji catches the words of a man passing by and talking to a woman who nods at his words.
"Tattoos are for people who don't know better, she'll regret them soon enough."
Your heart clenches at his words and the woman's incessant agreement. They look to you purposefully and knowing that you can hear them. However, what they fail to notice is that Sanji is filled with a sort of rage he had never felt before. He freezes but his legs are aflame and the man who walks by him stops, as Sanji lets go of you gently and steps in front of him. His anger is almost untameable, but honestly, what would anyone expect when someone insults his girlfriend?
"Say that about [y/n]-san again, I dare you."
- Zoro -
Zoro would be lying to say he didn't think your tattoos were just perfect on your skin. Though not very open in his compliments, you can feel his adoration in late evenings, his favourite thing being lazily tracing the patterns on your bare skin before you fade to sleep. You were just so hot and he has to sometimes compose himself - cursing himself for acting like the idiot cook - when he sees your more subtle tattoos peak from beneath your clothes.
He could not fathom thinking any other way about the ink on your skin, more like he had never thought too much about it. Your tattoos were as part of you as much as your limbs were and he couldn't have it any other way. That's why he struggles to notice when people treat you differently because of the art on your skin. The two of you had been wandering around a town on the new Island you and your crew had docked when the incident occurred.
Zoro, as usual, had somehow been getting lost despite you telling him to stay by your side, and after the hundredth time reprimanding him, you had decided to hold his hand in yours. Zoro had surprisingly been silent when you took his hand in yours, and you grinned when you saw the light blush on his cheeks. "Aww is the big swordsman embarrassed." You tease and he looks down to you, glaring but not removing the hold you have on his hand. "Sh-Shut up woman!"
You had been rambling on as always and Zoro had been humming as you did, entering the conversation and adding his own quips when he deemed it necessary. It was a wonderful time until of course, you had let a silence take over when you noticed some of the women who walked the streets staring at you strangely. You are confused at first unsure of why their eyes are trained on you, until you register the words of a few girls who pass by.
"She'll regret them in a few years, trust me."
"Yeah, do you think her boyfriend will leave her then?"
"He's hot, he's probably regretting dating her already. I mean who wouldn't going out with that-"
Suddenly, there is a sharp shinging sound and in front of the girls who had just passed, there is now a very familiar sword making them come to a very sudden halt. Their frightened eyes travel upwards and to the very annoyed man holding said sword who looks at them with dangerous intent. You are surprised to see that Zoro had noticed, but of course, he had. He was very observant when it came to you, and immediately realised when you stopped talking, baring a look of discomfort as you watched women stare at you strangely.
There are many things that Roronoa Zoro may tolerate, but disrespect towards you is one of the things he would rather die than abide by. His face has taken on a shadowed expression and even the women who had stared at you along the streets have frozen in place and looked on with shock.
"Care to share more of your foolish thoughts? Oh, what's that? Suddenly I don't hear your annoying mumbling."

I look better under you
Based on the song Snooze - Sza
Roronoa Zoro x F!Reader
Warnings: smut, mentions of scars, jealousy. Doesn't exactly follow plot canon.
Summary: After two years apart after the incident with Kuma in Sabaody, you and Zoro meet again.
A/N: I was thinking about doing some stories based on songs, especially in the future using one from Cowboy Carter for Ace because it makes so much sense to me. While that doesn't happen, we're left with Snooze, which is one of my favorites from Sza.
requests open | one piece masterlist
Long as you dreamin' 'bout me, ain't no problem
I don't got nobody, just with you right now
Tell the truth, I look better under you
I can't lose when I'm with you
How can I snooze and miss the moment?
You just too important
Nobody do body like you do
Your body itched when you saw a handful of greenish hair appearing on the horizon of the Sabaody archipelago. It was two long years without seeing each other, without talking, without the little escapades in the crow's nest where you spent hours tangled up in each other. Before you could prepare to talk to him, Sanji and Luffy also appeared in your field of vision, running in some direction you hadn't noticed yet.
"Let's go!" Luffy passed you who immediately started running to keep up with them.
"Finally a beautiful and real woman." Sanji's eyes practically threw hearts in your direction. "So beautiful, so fragrant, so..."
For a few seconds you thought Zoro was going to complain about Sanji, like they always did, but he remained quiet just as he didn't show any reaction when he saw you.
Your companions didn't know about the little escapades the two of you had and for a long time it was what made sense to you. Until your eyes witnessed Kuma erase Zoro's existence before your eyes, at least that's what you believed for a while.
"Isn't that the pretty girl from Thriller Bark?" Sanji caught your attention. A few meters away you recognized the pink hair and the gothic style.
The woman's face was almost glued to Zoro's as she yelled at him. Too close to be just a coincidence. "Why haven't you left here yet?" "I brought you here for nothing." Perhaps your vision was obstructed by the anxiety of being back - which now became a bitterness on your lips. Apparently the two years passed differently for him.
Ignoring the confused feelings, you and your companions ran towards the Sunny and before the navy even thought about reaching you, the ship was already sailing towards the next island.
"It's so good to have everyone back!" Nami hugged you tightly in a hug. "Come on, tell me what you were doing this whole time."
Islands with carnivorous plants, strange laboratories, giant birds, a castle with a certain girl with pink hair. Zoro was sitting next to you. As they listened to everyone talk, something about his posture seemed to show some discomfort in being there.
Everyone seemed to accumulate stories and adventures to tell and despite the small puddle of hurt that accumulated in you, you were happy to see your friends again.
"And you." Robin turned towards you. "What challenges have you encountered?"
"I went to a village that was being attacked by venomous insects. We had to keep shooting at them all the time and maybe that improved my aim." You took one of the small knives from your waistband and threw it past the small gap between Nami's neck and hair.
"Shown off." Zoro murmured next to you, attracting your attention for a brief second.
"Did the animals do this?" Usopp pointed to your arm.
Attracting everyone's eyes, you turned your arm, showing the scars that started on your fingers and went almost to the height of your shoulder.
"No." you smiled sympathetically as the shooter looked on attentively. "Let's just say not everyone on this island was nice or interested in the end of the demonic insects."
The others nodded and it didn't take long for them to engage in another story, paying attention to all the news. Even though you weren't looking in his direction, you could feel yourself being watched the entire time.
After a long conversation, everyone decided to explore Sunny. Review what they left behind, prepare for the next challenges. Before you could do the same, you felt an arm pulling you towards one of the rooms.
"What the hell is this." you saw Zoro in your field of vision. One of his hands closed the door and the other rested on the side of your head.
"It's been so long." he murmured, his face seeking the direction of your lips. Begrudgingly, you dodged his kiss. "What?"
He tried again and saw you repeat the gesture. It took his brain a few seconds to process all the possibilities.
"I understand." he started walking away. "Two years is too long, I understand that maybe you found someone else."
"I did this?" The tone of his voice was shrill and full of indignation. "Says the guy who was with the goth girl there. Did you enjoy your enchanting romance in an incredible castle?"
"Are you crazy?" Zoro analyzed you for a few seconds, seeing how safe it was to approach you. His hands found your chin and when you tried to move away from his touch, Zoro held on even tighter. "You know I had nothing to do with her. You know no one is like you."
Your own hands found his and went up to your face, relief was written on your face. Gently, one of your fingers traced the scar that closed his eye.
"Who made this?" you whispered, wanting to hold that little moment between the two of you.
"No one that matters now." He turned his face, kissing one of your hands. His gaze soon reached your immense scar. "About what you said outside, who was the bastard that hurt you?"
"No one that matters now." You smiled, enjoying his touch on your face. "You know I hate her, don't you?"
"Perona?"
"I wish I had killed that bitch in Thriller Bark!" you grumbled, earning a laugh from Zoro.
He wanted to kiss you, heavens he wanted to be able to take you there but he had missed hearing you too much and seeing your eyes shining in his direction. Everything else could wait.
"You only say that because she was playing with the ghosts and you."
"Exactly." your hands went down to the back of his head, pulling him closer. "I'd kill that bitch again just to think of her stealing what's mine."
You could feel Zoro's laughter almost on your skin, given the proximity. "So jealous" he murmured and before his lips stole yours, the two of you were interrupted when you were thrown from the door and the presence of a euphoric Luffy appeared.
"Let's eat! Sanji is going to make a huge feast for you and us." he pulled you by the shoulders. "Can you get your knife between Brook's ribs, say yes, please."
"Does he know you want to do this?" you asked him, taking advantage of Zoro's support to stand up.
"He said he'll accept it, if you let him see the color of your panties." Luffy spoke with a naturalness that brought laughter from you and a groan from the swordsman.
"He won't see, but..." you warned, tugging at the waistband of your pants. "It's pink, with white polka dots." Brook's scream outside indicated that he had heard the entire conversation and had probably combusted.
"Hit his head." Zoro grumbled, leaving the room before you.
A lot of thrown knives, a huge feast made by Sanji - and considering that Luffy ate more than half of it claiming he missed the food the cook made. You watched some of your friends retreat to your quarters.
"Has anyone seen Zoro?"
"He said he would be upstairs if anyone needed him." Chopper warned you and you thanked him, leaving him behind.
Knowing he would probably be alone, you walked up the stairs to the crow's nest and entered unceremoniously. Zoro was lying down, contemplating the ceiling.
"I thought it would take longer." He stood up, coming towards you.
"It's just that everyone is going to sleep, I think we can talk properly now." the words barely had space to leave your lips before Zoro reached you and crashed his lips into yours.
Your hands were against his chest and even though you wanted to move away to at least try to talk before finding out what happened during this time outside, Zoro's lips took yours in an intoxicating way. Honey, drinks and longing mixed in your mouths.
"We can talk later." he murmured, almost reading your thoughts. "I just miss you."
"Me too." your lips heaved as you felt his arms lift you so that your legs were wrapped around his.
Such a movement was made only so that Zoro could take you to the ground in a strange delicacy on his part. The green threads became your fingers' favorite path while his hands removed the few pieces of clothing that your body still had.
"No one that matters now?" he traced some scars that adorned your back and watched you twitch. "I'll still kill the bastard."
"This someone is no longer here for you to take revenge on." you took his lips as a distraction for your hands to slide over the shoulders hidden in the kimono.
"That's my girl."
Scars, bruises, nothing would take away the pleasure of Zoro's contemplation. The long two years didn't really seem that long until he saw you. How can you wait so long? How did he not go crazy and come back even if he swam to Sabaody?
"Hi greenie." You caught his attention by letting your hands caress his cheek. "Are you ok babe?"
"You are so beautiful." The words came out suddenly as if it were common for you to hear that every day.
If it were up to him alone, he would make a point of repeating that all night and for the rest of the next nights as well. Your eyes looking down at him asking for attention to your body, your legs closing against his body, small sighs as you felt him touch you. You underneath him was one of the best sights Zoro would have for the rest of his life.
His lips traced every contour of your skin. Every shiver was swallowed by a kiss, every shiver was trapped between his lips. The damp fabric of your panties didn't last long as a hindrance to the swordsman who turned you into tatters. It was like enjoying a feast after years of scarcity, drinking the divine honey that flowed from you.
"Still delicious." "I missed you so much."
Zoro couldn't contain a light laugh when he saw you cover your mouth with both hands, avoiding the screams that hit your body as you poured yourself onto his lips. Your waist took on a life of its own with the sensitivity of your pussy against his tongue.
Without any effort, Zoro turned you around and, handling you, placed your body on top of him, in a lotus position. His cock brought friction against your clitoris, your belly burning with pure anxiety and his hands made your hips move against him without even penetrating you. Your lips already hurt from the pressure you used to not let any noise escape.
"Let me hear you, please." One of his hands caught your hair, placing your head against the back of his neck. "Moan just for me baby. I need to hear you."
"Zoro, fuck, don't torture me. Just fuck me, please."
Hearing you beg was the closest thing a devil like him would get to heaven. Wrong, so wrong. Feeling your pussy contract with every inch he put in, that was paradise.
Despite feeling like you could explode at any moment, you moved slowly, not wanting the night to end. The grips against your ass, the eager hands pressing you against the base of his cock. Neither of them seemed to be able to last long.
The peak reached you first, your lips against the sweaty back of your neck, your fingers prickling the green strands begging for more and more, it was enough for Zoro to sink his teeth into your soft skin, containing his own moans and filling you up.
He lay down, still keeping himself inside you and allowing you to lay against his chest.
"You have new ones too." Your fingers traced some new scars.
"You don't like them?"
"Still beautiful, as always. Zo?"
" What do you need, sweet?"
"I know it wasn't our choice, but... Promise that if we get separated again, we'll find a way and find each other." Your eager eyes drew a sigh from the man, who pressed you even tighter against his embrace.
"This is the easiest promise I've ever made."
The sun began to rise when you could no longer keep your eyes open. With your body tied to Zoro's and covered by his kimono, without worrying if anyone would arrive, the two of you both took a snooze.

Impressive (Monster Trio)
You’re always so nice and a little of a push over, being considered a member of the scared trio. You know, being scared and hiding away when there’s a big bad with Nami, Chopper and Usopp. Until one day, you get tipped and defend your beloved boyfriend.
This is a request, enjoy sweets <3
~
~
Luffy
It was a nice quiet day on the sunny, Luffy, Usopp and yourself sitting on the edge of the Sunny while fishing. Nothing had bitten any of your lines all day, and your captain was getting irritated. “I’m hungry”. He cries, looking like he was about to die. “Just a little longer Lulu, I’m sure we’ll catch something soon”. You reassure him, sending him a small smile. “Before it disappears again”. Usopp mutters, directed at Luffy but he didn’t hear.
All of a sudden, Usopps line started to pull. “I got something!”. He says happily, starts in Luffys eyes. The pulling gets more aggressive, yourself and Luffy rushing behind him to help pull it up. You three pull something up, but it’s not just a big fish. “SEEEAAA KIIING!!!”. You and Usopp scream, getting eyed down by the monster and alerting the other crew mates, followed by Nami and Chopper screaming.
Before Luffy could react and punch the sea king, you jump up. He watches with wide eyes as you punch down on its head, the sea kings limp body slamming to the ocean. The crew rushes over and sees you standing on top of the sea king, using your arm to wipe away the sweat off your brow. “Luffy! I got lunch!”. You yell out to him.
He reaches out his arms and wraps around your waist, pulling you back up onto the ship crashing onto the grass of the Sunny. “THAT WAS SO COOL!”. He cheers, stars in his eyes. “Of course, I like taking care of you”. You tell him. He gives you a classic smile and chuckles at your sweet words. “You’re the best!”.
~
Sanji
It was one of the days that the Sunny was docked at an island, adventure for some and restocking and repairs for others. You joined your boyfriend do some shopping, having to restock quite a lot especially with the endless pit that is your captains stomach.
As you two walk you spot a nice little drink shop, selling iced fruity drinks. It is a hot day, and it would be nice to get something nice and sweet for you and Sanji. “Hey Sanji”. You call, getting your boyfriends attention. “Yes, (Y/n) my love?”. He responds. “I’m gonna go get something, I’ll be back in a minute. I’ll catch up”. You tell him. “Alright, stay safe”. He tells you. You’d thought to keep it surprise, especially since he’s over working himself and carrying up to 5 large crates on his own.
After getting yourself and Sanji nice iced drink, you spot Sanji. More importantly you see someone lingering close behind him, too close and clearly getting ready to mug him. As the man reaches the grab Sanjis wallet, without thinking you sprint forward and punch the man in the face. The commotion caused Sanji to stop in his tracks and turn around, seeing a man withering on the ground in pain while you stood still from when you punched.
You notice him looking, you turn to him and giggle nervously. “He was about to mug you”. You just blatantly stated. He almost dropped everything as he looked you with hearts in his eyes. “AwmyloveyouresoconsiderateIloveyousomuuuch!”. He coos. He then straightens himself. “By the way, what did you want to grab?”. He asks. You now realize that you weren’t holding the drinks anymore, looking behind you and seeing your drinks on the ground. “Nothing”.
~
Zoro
The day is hot, burning even. And worse your boyfriend had gotten you two lost in the middle of the woods on a foreign island. You desperately wanted to say something, but you knew that he was already stressed enough cause not only did he get himself lost he got you lost. As you two walk, he turns to look over at you over his shoulder as he continues to walk. “You doin okay?”. He asks you. “Yeah, I’m good”. You reassure, even if you felt like you where gonna pass out from heat and exhaustion.
He looks at you with a blank face. “Let’s take a break”. He states, walking over to a nearby tree and taking a seat under it. “Good idea”. You huff, falling down and laying on the ground. Zoro chuckles at your antics, his smile then dropping when he thinks more about the situation. So stressed that he started to doze off a bit.
“ZORO!”. His eyes snapped open, seeing you as your fist collided with the top of the head of a snake ten times you size. You let out a sigh of relief, seeing that he was okay. “What happened?”. He asks, still in a kind of shock at the sight in front of him. “This guy went to eat you, kinda acted on instinct when I saw”. You explain.
Weird, usually he’d be able to tell if a threat that big or any threat at that was coming at him. He smiles softly at you, getting up from his spot and placing a hand on your head. “Thanks for having my back”. He thanks, sending you a soft smile. You beam a bright smile up at him. “No problem!”.

You sat at the small table in the kitchen with a blanket wrapped around your shoulders. Normally you were the last one up, having stayed up the latest to finish dishes and lay out plates for the next day. You had slept like garbage despite the comfort of being home, Zoro's words ringing in your ears and, when Sanji had woken up to prep for service that day, you had followed him down the stairs, bedraggled but desperate for the company. It was the only thing that had halted you from watching the duel, the rhythmic 'shwick' of the knife as he peeled vegetables.
You had already spent most of that morning in silence other then Sanji's movements, and you hadn't believed it would change any time soon until his voice piped up.
"Was he telling the truth, mon Cœur?" You look at him, "That Luffy boy. Are you, are you really going to go?" He doesn't move his eyes from the pile of carrot peelings he was creating. You stand and join him at the counter, taking a knife in shaking hands and begin to peel as well, albeit much slower and rougher then his nice smooth cuts.
"I thought I could help them. Him? I don't-" you blink sleep from your eyes again, "-I don't know if I can anymore, if he's even going to try." Your fingers are so stiff from holding his last night that you have to drop the knife and move the carrot around with your other hand, the rolling motion not happening for you. "Zoro is fighting that Warlord, Mihawk, this morning, and I made him so angry, and he might die and I just don't-"
Your words get caught in your throat and around your tongue, and you slur slightly as they all crash to a stop. Swallowing around them stings your throat and reminds you of sneaking sips of Zeff's good wine with Sanji at birthday parties when you were younger. You never did like the taste.
"I thought," you take slower this time, more deliberately, "that this could be our chance to go and look, just to try, but I've just messed everything up again," you dare to look up at Sanji and find he's already watching you, eyes gentle with sympathy. "I want to go." You state firmly, "But if you don't come, then I won't. I didn't mean to start an adventure without you, and I definitely won't be finishing it without you at my side."
The corner of his lips turn up and he leans down, leaving a sweet and gentle kiss to your forehead. You lean into his warmth mindlessly, like you always did. He pulls back and you open your eyes again.
"I know you wouldn't want to." He returns to his chopping, a smile back on his face, "But if you really want to go, I won't stop you. I'll miss you sure but I want you happy."
"I'm happiest with you." you answer, belief steadfast. He snorts a chuckle.
"I don't know about that, you and that Luffy boy seemed to get along great!" You miss the slight bitterness in his tone as you roll your eyes.
"First Zeff, now you, you're both ridiculous. He's my captain. Was. I dunno anymore, he's funny and silly. Smarter then he seems, but I'm sure you noticed that." You swallowed, humour dropping from your voice. "His dream was so solid, it felt like getting punched in the stomach or something. I-I wanted to keep that, that surety and I thought, maybe he could help us too." You look up at him shyly as he laughs.
"What a pair we make,” he plops the knife down on the cutting board, "the most ridiculous excuse for a pair, I have ever see."
"Oi."
"It's just us. You know, I can look after myself, I was gonna wait, we don't have to find the All Blue straight away. I was worried about you being comfortable. Happy." He shrugged as you gazed up at him "I was gonna save up, wasn't gonna let you be a dishwasher your whole life, and we were gonna go together, make sure Zeff was alright and then, I just- didn't really know when." His smile grew. "Trust us acting like this. Me thinking of you and you thinking of me."
"What other way to think is there for us?"
"What'd you think you're doing?" You both jump at the interruption, Zeff's voice ringing though the kitchen as he joins the pair of you.
"Chopping carrots, chef."
"Yeah, I can see that. But why are you doing it in my kitchen?" He limps up behind the pair of you, peering over your shoulders at your work. "I demoted you, remember?"
"That you did. But Patty's sleeping off a brutal hangover, so unless you wanna do brunch prep all by yourself..."
"Fine." Zeff begins his own prep, "You two made up then, I don't wanna see either of you moping about 'round here if yous haven't." Sanji throws him a glare, but he doesn't notice as he eyes the mauled lump of carrot in your hand. "And I'd appreciate it if you stopped mutilating my produce while you're at it."
You toss your head back with a laugh and abandon the lacerated vegetables. Zeff takes over your spot, sweeping the hunk of orange veg into the peel pile and began slicing mushrooms.
"Them carrots are cut too thick." You throw your hands in the air from your spot on the counter.
"You know I'm no help in the kitchen unless you want something burnt, chef."
"Not you, his." He snarks and Sanji gives him a dirty look in response. "And those eggs are too runny." Your best friend's eyes nearly rolled into his head.
"Give it a rest old man." Zeff ignores him, turning to you as he moves the tray of veggies, now oiled and seasoned, to sit above the oven.
"Where're the rest of your 'crew' this morning then? They haven't left you here, have they?" Sanji turns to watch the conversation, eyes curious as well. Yours shift to the ground.
"No, no they haven't left." The two blonde men are still watching you, "I, um. The swordsman, Zoro, he challenged a Warlord to a duel to become the greatest swordsman and I didn't think it would end well and told him as much..." You squeeze your lips together and your eyes burn. "I don't know if he'll survive, or if they'll want me on the crew even if he does."
"They'll be idiots not to." The gentle moment lasted for another second before, "And I can tell just by looking at that, that rémoulade needs a lot more oregano." You giggle as Sanji mouths along him mindlessly, throwing a smirk over his shoulder at you as he replies,
"Oregano is for savages." The growing argument fizzles out immediately as cries sounded from outside the kitchen as your captain comes barrelling in.
"HELP! HELP! Zoro- Zoro needs a doctor. He got into a fight with this warlord guy, but he lost." You shoot to your feet immediately, pulse pounding in your ears. "And now he's bleeding from everywhere-"
"Whoa, whoa. Slow down, chore boy. I can't understand a word you're saying."
"My friend is dying." Zeff eyes flick over to you, chest shaking as you force in deep breaths.
"Nearest doctor's on the Conomi Islands, it's a two-day sail from here."
"That's too long."
"Zeff," your voice is a whisper, "There has to be something, I can grab the first aid kit-"
"I can't help him." He rests a hand on your shoulder as your eyes go wide at him, "Hope your friend makes it." You grunt angrily as you shoot off to his office, grabbing the first aid kit and Sanji follows, pulling open the spice cabinet to hoke. "Where'd you think you're going?"
"To help their friend."
"Brunch is not gonna prep itself."
"You always told me to feed anyone who's hungry, I don't see how this is any different." Your hands are shaking so much that the kit spills open, tipping its contents over the floor as you gargle an angry yell at your useless extremities. Sanji crouches to help gather them back up as Zeff sighs behind you.
"Fine. Sanji, bring me my kitchen knives, Y/n, a bottle of our best whiskey. And a fresh yellowtail from the cooler. Bigger the better." You don't hesitate to follow his instructions, dashing off to the cooler as Sanji calls in confusion.
"A yellowtail?"
"Just do it already."
⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
Nami is holding a blood soaked cloth to the gaping slash across his chest when you all arrive, carting the basket of knives, alcohol and fish with you.
"Are you kidding? He needs a doctor." Zeff pulls the cloths of Zoro's chest and looks over the wound.
"Do you wanna save your swordsman friend or not?" They all watch as you place the basket on the counter to the side, Sanji pulling out the fish and rolling out the knives as Zeff uncorks the whiskey.
"Is that to sterilize the wounds?" Usopp asks shakily.
"Hell no. That'd be a waste of really good liquor." He takes a swig and his mind falls to the last time he did something like this.
Zeff stares down at you, the littler one of two little kids he had found himself responsible for after that last disastrous raid of the Cook Pirates. You sat now, two years off that bloody rock, hand flat on the counter top as you score at it -for once unbandaged- with blood pouring down the wrist of the hand that was clenched around the handle of his good knives. Its the God damn boning knife too, the blade red streaked and bloody as it quivers in your grip.
He didn't know it now, but it wasn't from fear, that shaking. Long after the skin had healed as best it could, the shaking remained, your cuts so deep and so plentiful that they had done a number on the nerves in the fingers and palms.
For now though, for now he shouts and you drop the knife, which hits the counter with a vibrating 'twang' before skittering across the floor. You stand, dead still and eyes squeezed shut as he rushes you, ready for yelling, or perhaps a strike.
You weren't expecting him to take your elevated wrist, turning the hand over and inspecting the gouges for himself.
"Beautiful." Zeff strokes along the side of the fish before getting to work. First he removes the head in a swift chop, before filleting it, peeling meat and skin away from the bone. With precision, he scores out small cuts of the skin, laying them flat across a metal pan.
"Needle."
He swears under his breath as he pulls the thread tight, pulling your skin together before tying it off and snipping it close to the knot. You didn't move, didn't make a peep. He squints up at your blank face and mutters an apology for any pain.
"It's fine." You reply, your voice a whisper, "I can't feel anything."
Your reassurance does nothing but worry him more, a lack of feeling not being good sign if you were recover movement in your hands.
"What were you thinking." His question doesn't feel like one. "You can barely get your head round stirring a pot, what made you think grabbing a knife wouldn't end this badly." He stands, grabbing a tray of fish skin he had for some reason been meticulous when cutting.
He's making it sound like-
"-it wasn't an acciden-"
"I don't want to hear that." He slams the tray down on his desk beside you, metal and wood rattling against the force. "You," he points right into your face, "are never gonna do something like this again. Not in here, not under my roof." Gently lifting the thin stripes of fish off the tray, he lays it flat on your skin, crossing over the sutures he had just finished. "You feel like doing something like this again, or worse, you don't. You come and you find me, or Patty or Sanji. You do not sneak into the kitchen and steal my knives. You never do something like this to yourself again. You understand?" You refuse to meet his eyes, staring at the '66' and the scored out '3' that had mocked you for years. "Oi!" he snapped in front of your face, "You hear me?" Your eyes still avoid his.
"What's the fish for."
"It's an old seaman's trick. The fish skin helps staunch the wounds and heals the flesh a lot faster." Usopp peers over his crewmates' shoulders.
"Is he gonna be okay?"
"Look, I'm not gonna lie to you. He's lost a lot of blood. It might be too late for him."
"But it might not be." Luffy's eyes don't lift from Zoro's face.
"He's got one foot in each world right now, caught between life and death. You have to find a way to keep him tethered to our world. Talk to him, tell him stories. Sing him sea shanties for all I care." The crew move him carefully to one of the hanging bunks, gently laying him down on the swaying wood. "He may not reply, but at least he'll know his crew are still with him."
As you move to head back into the galley, Nami rounds on you.
"Where were you?" Her voice was tight and accusatory. "We were all there this morning, except for you." You swallowed thickly.
"He told me not to come."
"What? When?"
"Last night, I-" you ducked your head down between your shoulders. "-I had gone to speak to him, to try and convince him to stop again. It didn't go well," Your eyes dance across Zoro's still body. "He told me to got back to Baratie and to not come to the duel." Your fingers wring together, "I don't blame him, we were, very harsh to one another." Nami scoffed.
"You shouldn't have listened, you should've been there. With us."
"I know."
⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
"Mmm, something smells delicious." Usopp follows the scent wafting from the galley to find Luffy cleaning the Wado Ichimonji on the bench and you watching Sanji as he steamed rice and prepared fillings for more onigiri, some already sitting freshly prepared on the side.
"I just thought everyone'd be hungry, man. I know they" he gestures to you, "didn't eat last night, and there's plenty we didn't use. Never waste food."
"Cool." Usopp pinches one of the prepared ones that had been left for Luffy and bites off a small mouthful. Sanji looks over at the straw hat.
"What's the matter? Don't like fish?" He finally looks up from the sword.
"I love fish. I just need to get Zoro's sword ready for him. You know, for when he wakes up." Sanji and Usopp eye each other as he speaks.
"He's uh," Usopp wipes his face, "pretty badly hurt, man. There's an itty-bitty chance he might not wake up." Luffy continues wiping down the sword with a grin.
"Zoro's the strongest fighter I know. No way he's gonna let some warlord guy beat him."
"Well," Sanji speaks up as he moulds the rice in his hands, "you've gotta eat. Come on, if you don't want the fish, I got two-inch T-bones in the kitchen. Or, uh, maybe you're in the mood for saffron risotto?"
"His risotto's real good Luff, you should give it a try." You call from your spot beside your Sanji.
"I normally would get both, but I really gotta get the Waddy Itchy Monkey ready for him." You blink, long and slow, as Luffy's words swirl around in your brain.
"The what?"
"His sword. It's got a name." You face falls to your hands and you sigh.
"Oh."
"Luffy, it's Wado Ichimonji. Wah-do, Ichi-mon-ji." You sound out the words from behind your hands. Sanji eyes flick to you, before going back to the boy with the straw hat.
"Why?"
"I don't know. He said it was kind of special. Hey, Sanji, can you cook Zoro's favourite food?"
"Sure. What does he like?"
"Alcohol." Your voice is muffled beside him and he chuckles, eyes still focused on Luffy.
"He really likes rice balls." Sanji mumbles an 'm-hm' gesturing what was already in his hands but nodding along. "And beer, yeah. What about rice balls soaked in beer? Can you make that?" Sanji laughs and answers.
"I can make anything. Just tell me what you want."
"I want him to eat so that he gets back his strength. But I also want him to sleep so that his wounds can heal. Or maybe...maybe he just needs some water. Right? After all of that fighting, he must be awfully thirsty." He chuckles breathily, not really paying attention to their reaction to his suggestions. "But, you know, he's probably also tired, so...so yeah, we should just let him rest."
Sanji leans heavily on the counter, looking at Luffy seriously.
"Being a captain, it's the toughest job in the world, okay? Zeff once told me that making decisions is what separates a captain from the rest of his crew. And he was one of the best pirate captains that ever sailed the seas."
"Zeff was a pirate?" Luffy asked excitedly.
"Yeah. Captain of the dreaded Cook Pirates. They used to call him 'Red Leg Zeff,' 'cause his boots were always stained with the blood of his enemies."
"How'd you all meet? Were you on his crew or something?"
"Not exactly."

By the time Sanji had finished recounting your shipwreck and stranding on that barren, inhospitable rock. You had perched yourself on the window ledge beside Zoro's almost completely unmoving body, eyes focused on the slow rise and fall of his chest as he breathed. It brought little comfort as both of your words from last night echoed through your head.
"I'm sorry Zoro." Your voice was a whisper in the still room, "I know I'm not much use if my whole power is based around guiding people to achieve their dreams and I'm telling you to stop, but I was just...scared."
Your eyes trail across his bandaged chest and your lip wobbles "Don't tell anyone but I'm a huge coward. I'm indecisive and have no idea what I want to do. I hate being like this, being afraid of consequences of actions I never take because I'm terrified of failing, but I just," you swallow back the tears desperately, "so much of the world is filled with such desperate hope. Such yearning want for something, for anything, and its all pointing in all sorts of different directions its hard not to feel empty in comparison when the people around me have something to strive for. You scared me Zoro. When we were in the galley, I thought it was because you were so so sure this was the next step to achieving your dream, but the more I felt it, and then last night again, I knew that it wasn't right. It wasn't pointing at Mihawk, not yet."
You stand, leaning over the silent man and whisper, "You need to wake up Zoro. That dream of yours is still screaming inside you I can feel it! Please don't give up on it, hang on."
With that, you leave, passing Luffy as he walks in to take his turn watching over and speaking to Zoro.
⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
"LUFFY! LUFFY!" Nami dashes into the galley, voice ringing through the entire ship. You and Sanji turn to her as the other boys return from Zoro's room. "The Arlong Pirates are at Baratie. We have to leave now."
"The who?" You query, sitting on the island perched beside Sanji's leaning figure, coat left abandoned in your room and tattoos exposed.
"What? Why? Why should we leave?"
"Because they're looking for you."
"Me?" Luffy asks incredulously pointing to himself.
"And the map." She turns to appeal to you and Sanji, "Those fishmen will tear this place apart if Zeff doesn't turn him over." You and Sanji spring into action, moving past the boys and sweeping out the door.
"Where are you going?"
"If Baratie's in danger, we need to be there."
"I'm coming with you."
Nami calls after him desperately. "Did you not hear what I just said? They are hunting you, we need to run."
"I'm with Nami on this one," Usopp joins in, "I'm really not trying to ruffle any feathers or scales-"
"I'm not running. We're going to protect this place."
"This isn't your fight, why would you that?"
"You fed us." Luffy and Sanji smirk at each other as Nami turns to you imploringly.
"Y/n, please, talk some sense into them, I know this crew, their captain, Arlong, has the highest bounty in all of the East Blue!"
(An orange haired woman and an orange haired girl are surrounded by trees in an orange grove)
"This is my home, Nami, they're my," Your gaze flashes to Sanji, "our people, our family. We have to protect them, we have to do something." You make eye contact with her and hold it.
(A windmill made from an orange peel.)
"You understand that?"
(A grave stone.)
"Don't you?"
(A dark room, filled only with maps and chain shackled to the floor. A little girl sits alone.)
Her eyes are wide as her eyes follow your arm, raised and pointing to the horizon out the window as your eyes swirl their colours together.
(The little girl stands, now a woman, with a blue-haired woman at her side, and a town free from a tyrant in scales.)
Her lips quiver as she answers shakily.
"You do not want to mess with him."
"It sounds like he messed with us first."
"Luffy please." She moves closer, but still is separated from the rest of you by the galley's counters. "Please."
"I can't let innocent people get hurt because of me. If those fishmen guys want a fight, we're gonna give them one." You and Sanji nod to him. He turns back to Nami and walks over to where she stands, silently fuming. "You stay with the ship and protect the map. Hmm? It's gonna be safe with you." He slaps her gently on the shoulder before you all make your exit.

Following your captain as he slams open the doors, he moves to the railing overlooking the dining room. Lunch service is in full swing, the large room chock full of people. He leans over and calls,
"Which one of you is Arlong?" A deep voice belonging to a purple fishman with a long, spiked nose answers.
"Who is asking?"
"I'm Monkey D. Luffy. I hear you're looking for me." Arlong releases his hold of the customer and looks up at you all as you begin walking down the stairs. Sanji brings up the rear as you and Usopp followed behind Luffy, with you closer to the banister as Usopp kited the wall.
"Why, yes I am. So this is the pirate I've heard so much about? You know I was expecting someone... bigger." Luffy smiles.
"So was I." Arlong snarls up at him.
"Do you know who I am boy? I'm Arlong the Saw. Even the Marines flee before my flag." Luffy shook his head as you moved closer to Sanji, subconsciously acting as a barrier between him and the threat before you.
"Not ringing a bell. How'd you find me anyway?" Arlong smirks.
"An old friend helped me track you down." He clicks him tongue and one of the three other fishmen sat at one of the tables flips open a bag pulling free the decapitated head of Buggy.
Of course its the goddamn clown.
"Heya, Straw Hat! Did you miss me?"
"No." Your voice couldn't have been more monotone if you'd tried.
"Burpy?! What are you doing here?" Now is not the time to laugh, but you struggled not to.
"Believe me, it wasn't my first choice either. But these fine fishy folk persuaded me to point them in the right direction, which ain't easy when you don't have any hands." He chuckle to himself as you roll your eyes.
"How'd you even know how to find me?"
"I told you. I've got eyes and ears everywhere." There's a squishy squirming noise as a disembodied ear wiggles its way out of the band of Luffy's hat. The sight makes you gag as it flies back over to the clown's head as he cackles to himself. "AHA! Stereo!"
"You were listening all along? You heard everything?" Buggy nods as best he can while only a head.
"Everything. And that god old quick, 'cause you shidiots have no idea what you're doing. Hey Lips!" He hollers at the fishman sitting behind him, "How 'bout a scratch behind the old ear, huh?"
"Sorry honey"
"Oh, come on! Give a clown a break. I--" He places down the bottle he was holding and grabs atop of Buggy's head. "Oh wait! No, not back in the bag, it's so dark and wet and sandy!"
"Listen here." Arlong's voice is smooth in the silence, "I want my map, along with half of whatever you plunder as tribute. And if you bow down to me, I might even let you serve in my kingdom." Luffy's face was set in a glare hard as stone.
"I don't bow down to any man."
"I'm no man."
"Or fish." Arlong growls. "And you're no king."
"I will be when I get my Grand Line map." Luffy's serious face cracked into a smile.
"Then," he replaces his hat on his head. "You're gonna have to fight me for it."
"Then let the fighting begin." As he moves to step forward, a shot rings out and a bullet clinks to the floor between his feet.
Holding the smoking gun, Zeff glares down the barrel as Arlong turns on him. With a growl, the other seated fishman stands and smashes through Zeff's peg leg, before standing to full height and punching Zeff back through one of the tables.
As plates and glasses crash to the floor, Sanji and your voices ring out in unison.
"ZEFF!" Sanji sprints down the stairs while you bolt over the railing, running at the fishmen's table. With a swift kick, Sanji sends the one with Buggy's head flying, and he lands on the table, glaring at the one who attacked Zeff.
You instead square up to the fourth fishman, standing between him and Sanji as he stands to full height, towering over you in a combination of spackled brown and orange scales and a yellow shirt, with a long barbed tail and a wide and flat face.
While Sanji advances on the paler grey fishman, kicking and whirling around him, your chains drop from your arms, the shucking weight catching in your upturned hands as you begin your attacks, swinging the thick heavy metal at his head in an X shape before making a series of quick whipping attacks to his chest, pushing him away from the table and from Zeff, who stares at you in bewilderment.
With a leaping kick, Sanji aims for the head of his opponent, just as yours catches hold of the spinning chains. Sanji's fishman reels back, punching him in the stomach and sending him soaring through the air only to crash into and overturn one of the tables, revealing Usopp hiding underneath. Your opponent, on the other hand, kept hold of your chains and began to spin. Pulling you off your feet with no effort, he spins and spins and spins, forcing you around and around in tighter and tighter before releasing you like a hammer in a hammer throw, sending you careening into the wall above the stairs, knocking a hole into it as you crash to the steps, rolling down them as debris cascades down around you. Usopp crawls up along side you, pushing you right side up as Sanji joins the pair of you. With a roar, Luffy swings at Arlong.
"GUM GUM PISTOL!" Though he had wound it up, Arlong catches his wrist with little trouble, ripping him off his feet and pulling him into the fishman's torso. Holding the boy by the shoulders, Arlong hurls him into one of the pillars holding up the upper floor, and he falls to the ground limp and groaning.
"Get up!" Arlong snarls. Luffy hops up, growling as he swings at Arlong, once, twice, three times, juddering him back a step each time. Arlong only chuckles. "Not bad for a human." You and Usopp haul Sanji's half-limp form up another stair. Luffy yells and strikes out again at Arlong, but he catches both of Luffy's fists and squeezes, pulling back towards himself as the length of his rubber arms diminish and force him face to face with the fishman.
"Uh...?"
"Oooh, big mistake." Arlong muses happily. "Now I'm gonna have to make an example out of you."

You and Usopp scrabble down the dock to help Sanji haul Luffy out of the water, your arms weighing down as the sea water laps at them. You push past the wave of fatigue as you heave your captain's body up on to the wood, limp and heavy like it was weighed down with concrete.
As the boy gags and coughs up salt water, your eyes skitter across to Sanji, his strong pale chest now dripping wet. His eyes were focused on Luffy, so he missed the way your eyes glazed and your cheeks warmed as you followed the trickling path of a water droplet as it flows down the smooth contours of his sculpted chest.
Usopp does though, watching you watch him, before your aqua and gold eyes dart away to meet dark smirking ones. Luffy interrupts, lifting his head weakly with another hack and asks,
"Where's Nami?" The smirk on Usopp's face falls and you bite your lip between your teeth, sharp canines digging into the skin.
"She's gone Luffy." Your voice is quiet even to your own ears. Usopp continues.
"She's a member of Arlong's crew." His head drops back to the wood. You all look at each other as he remains quivering on the dock.
"No. She can't be."

You and Sanji return to the wrecked dining hall as Zeff drops into a chair, all of you surveying the damage done. Sanji moves past Zeff without a word, lifting a broom and starting to sweep as you begin to right fallen tables and chairs, moving unsalvageable ones to a pile in the centre. Zeff's eyes close with a sigh.
"I don't need you to do that."
"We've got a full house tomorrow. Two dinner seatings, plus brunch." Sanji props the broom against the centre piece of the dining room, moving to clear some larger debris from the floor.
"Enough! I don't wanna hear this."
"What is your problem?"
"Me?" Zeff scowls incredulously at Sanji's question. "I'm fine, you're the one with the problem." He begins to rise from his chair.
"Zeff just stay there." Your voice is quiet behind him, but as always, both blondes ignore your tired tone and continue the argument instead.
"I'm just helping you clean up."
"Yeah, but no one asked you to, did they? So get out of my restaurant now." Sanji whirled on him.
"I told you I'm not gonna be a waiter."
"You're not gonna be anything, not if you stay here."
"Zeff..." Your tone turns from tired to warning, volume rising slightly but still they turn a blind eye.
"I did not save your lives so you could waste them at Baratie."
"It's not like we can just leave."
"Why the hell not? The little donkey is, to follow your dream, for you." Sanji's face curls as Zeff waves the hand not propping him up on a crutch at you.
"Because you couldn't run this place without me."
"Oh, please, little eggplant, your cooking is for shit."
"At least I don't drown everything in oregano."
"Yeah, at least I'm no the one who goes on moaning about the All Blue, only for the perfect opportunity to be hand-delivered to your ungrateful lap, to just turn your nose up at it." Sanji stills from stacking the mess of plates, glaring down at the stained table cloth. You slide up beside him and run your knuckles down his forearm.
"Sanji?" Your voice is low and soft, and his glare drops, large damp eyes turning to you. "We've been talking about going after it for forever and a day. We both want to find it, so let's. Zeff can manage things here, he has Patty and Akito and all the rest." You curl your fingers into his sleeve, tugging it towards you as you look up at him. "We can go with Luffy and Zoro and Usopp in the Merry, go rescue Nami and head for the Grand Line. It has to be there, we can finally find it for ourselves."
Your whispering only grows more and more excited as you go, eyes lighting up and swirling together as you beam up at him. Sanji turns a reluctant gaze on the man who had looked after and protected you both for the last nine years, only to find a stubborn glare in place on his face.
"If it means that much to you, go find it." He snarks bitterly. Sanji lifts the tray of crockery and spins away from you.
"Do you want us to quit? Is that what you want?"
"Quitting is staying here, it's giving up before you've even started looking!" His voice ricocheted off the tall walls and high ceilings as he blared at the younger man. "It's letting down the one person," his eyes flick to your figure, once again hiding in the shadow of your Sanji, "who has stood by and supported you every single moment. Don't you get it? It's one thing to have a dream. It's another to go after it."
Sanji steps back, falling in line with you as he stares Zeff down.
"Chore boy offered me a spot on his crew alongside Y/n." Your ears prick up and your figure straightens, "Maybe I'll take him up on that offer." He takes a grip of your arm, dropping the tray onto the table behind you both as he turns from Zeff.
"You want my permission, you've got it." With an angry kick to one of the knocked down chairs, Sanji pulls you into the back of house, screaming over his shoulder.
"FINE!"
"FINE!"
With quick steps and angry breaths raging through his chest, Sanji pulls you with him as you take the stairs up to the staff quarters two-at-a-time.
He throws open the door to your room, grabbing a duffle bag before starting to throw things from the small shared closet in, extra shirts and suit trousers, socks and underwear and his chef knife set, huffing and puffing the whole time.
You move much slower, lifting your coat from the hook, and gently tossing a few spare undershirts and overshirts, tank tops and small clothes, and a few pairs of your long, baggy, big-pocketed trousers going in as well. From under your bed you pull the dusty and decrepit wooden box that housed your sewing and embroidery kit.
A gift from Zeff to try and help work on the unwavering shake in your hands, it became a hobby you had invested huge amounts of your time to, most of your clothing bearing colourful thread designs or whirling swirling patterns. Your trouser pockets are emblazoned with scattered fish amongst rippling waves. You have a waistcoat -one you throw into your bag after a moment of consideration- that is spackled with vibrant flowers across the still waters of the turquoise fabric. Sanji and Zeff and Patty and Akito and Carne and all the other chefs have pocket squares and hankies and towels and shirts and skirts littered with designs of all shapes and sizes.
A small smile grows across your face and you tuck it away in the folds of your cloths, and tuck a few extra miscellaneous bits and pieces into the bag around it. You turn to watch Sanji for a moment.
"I'm going to go down." Your voice shakes him from his muttering reverie, and he looks at you. "I want to check on Luffy and Zoro, and make sure Usopp hasn't set the ship ablaze." He snorts.
"Mon cœur, of all the people in that little crew of yours, it isn't Usopp I'm worried about starting a fire." You scrunch your nose up at his quiet chuckles.
"That's because you don't know him yet." His chuckling dies down and he gazes up at you, eyes soft and gentle for you. "I'm going to say goodbye to Zeff as well." His eyes drop to the carpet and glaze over slightly. "If you want to join me...?"
"Not yet, mon cœur." His voice is hushed and tight. You don't push him. "Maybe later."
"Course, Sanji. I'll see you soon, okay? Don't take to long."
⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
You find Zeff exactly where you expect, hunched over his desk in the office at the back of the empty kitchen. He's pouring over papers, shoulders and moustache braids sagging. He looks over his shoulder with the sound of creaking hinges, watching as you let it hang open, the unusually silent and cold kitchen casting a gloomy atmosphere throw the little dark room.
"What'd you want? I'm busy." He turns away again, lifting and shuffling papers as you let the bag drop in the doorway. You take your seat beside him, stool still so low you have to bend your legs up to your chest to sit comfortably.
"Thought you deserved a proper goodbye, given I know I won't be back for a while this time." His body stills it's shuffling, fingers creasing the paper as his grip tightens. "I want to thank you Zeff. For looking after us, and taking us with you. Making sure we were looked after, even if you were a bit of a brute about it at times." He snorts at you, but doesn't look over. "You have no idea how good it was, to have somewhere where we were safe, where Sanji was safe, and we didn't have to fight just to-" your voice caught, "-just to live, ya know? We owe you a whole lot and I don't know when, or if, we'll be able to repay you." You trail off into silence, joining the head chef in quietude for a moment.
"Repay me," his voice breaks the still moment between you, "by staying safe. And staying good. Even if you become the fiercest pirates the sea has ever seen," his gaze drifts to you, "you keep good. Don't go starting trouble, especially if it's already looking for you." A small smile graces your face.
"I'll try. Can't promise, with this new captain of ours, but I'll try." His large hand, big enough to almost ingulf your face, drops on to your head and scratches at your scalp a moment.
"That's all I ask."
⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
You've just arrived on the deck of the Going Merry when you hear your captain screaming his first mate's name. You join Usopp, who had greeted you upon arriving, in dashing down through the tight passages to make it to the newly conscious man.
"Zoro!" You both cry out with relief when you seem him, eyes open and fist to Luffy's chest. Usopp pulls back, trying to hide his over excited reaction and finishes cooly, "I wasn't worried for a second."
"Shut up, Zoro-" you point at the man's face and he raises an eyebrow at your finger, "- you are never allowed to nearly die in a duel again. Not ever, especially not if we're so far from any medical help!"
"Noted." His voice is monotone, but a small smirk curves along his lips. Luffy thrusts his hand into the air, yanking the man into a painful position as he screams in joy.
"HE'S ALIVE!!" Luffy drops his arm gingerly as he groans in pain before Usopp starts up again.
"And I told 'em. I said 'You'd better not mess with the Straw Hats!'"
"Ya!" You all watch as Usopp mimes and mimics the noises of an intense fight.
"Sent 'em swimming for their lives."
"You scared 'em off, huh?" Usopp agrees instantly. "The Great Captain Usopp."
"So, what do we do now? Plot a course for the Grand Line?" You purse your lips.
"How?" All three look at you. "We don't have our navigator." Usopp blinks at you.
"But I thought we were going after the One Piece?"
"We are," Luffy assures, "but we can't do it without our whole crew. First..." He pulls the hat from around his neck and plops it on his head, adjusting the straps at his chin, "we're going after Nami."
⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
You are checking off the list of inventory as Usopp carried yet another barrel up on to the deck.
"Lot of dried meat in these barrells." It thumps down beside three others laden with jerky, and several crates of the juices of lemons and limes, "you think we brought too much?" Zoro peers up at your captain as he clambers ungracefully about the rigging.
"You know who you're sailing with?"
"Yeah."
"Mmm."
"Heard you guys need a cook." All heads spin towards the dock below, where a grinning Sanji stands, looking up at you all with his duffel bag over his shoulder. You let out a squeal so high that both Zoro and Usopp wince as you run to greet him, and Luffy cheers from his spot dangling above you.
"YEAH! Yes we do!" Luffy's cheer roars out as he begins to clamber down and you throw your arms around Sanji, squeezing him tightly as he laughs.
"I'm so glad you came." You're whispering, but he can hear you just fine as he squeezes back, only releasing his grip as Luffy appears by you both. The captain's hand claps his shoulder as he beams.
"Welcome aboard." As you follow Sanji further on to the deck, Zoro peers at the pair of you.
"Why are we bringing the waiter?"
Usopp answers easily. "Because we can't boil water."
"Not without starting a fire anyway!" You chime in merrily, clinging loyaly to Sanji's side once more.
You watch as Luffy and Usopp work to drop the sail, flicking at the ropes and tying them in messy knots. You shake your head, leaving them too it as Luffy releases the jib sail and takes ahold of the rudder, and you join your Sanji atop the sterncastle facing Baratie as the men on dock cast you away. The Merry begins to part from Baratie and you spot Zeff, Patty and the rest of the cooks watching as you start to sail away. You lean just to the left of the still broken rail and Sanji stands a step behind you. He begind to walk back to the main deck as Zeff yells up to him, your goodbyes already complete even as your eyes begin to water.
"HEY SANJI!" He turns immediately, joining you against the rail. "You keep your feet dry."
"Goodbye Zeff." His throat catches in his throat and he doesn't even manage to pull away completely before turning back again. "You know, all these years, living under your shitty roof, cooking at your shitty restaurant..." His eyes turn redder and redder as tears gather in his waterline and you take his hand, nails digging into your skin as he speaks. "I owe you my life! Thank you for putting up with my shit all these years, old man." A tear runs down his face and you wipe at it as gently as you can, your own eyes stinging as his lip quivers. "I'll never forget you, Zeff!"
⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘⫘
"Sooo..." Sanji is running his hand over the varnished grain on the railings as you lean with your cheek smashed against his arm. You blink an eye up at him, but don't move. "When did you work out that whole," he runs a fingertip along the tattoos etched into your skin, "chain situation then?" You breath deeply, repositioning your head to lean your chin on him instead.
"You saw my bounty poster, yea?"
"Yea love."
"Round about then. I..." you pull at your fingers and turn your eyes away. "...Might be from an island called Gaka. In the Grand Line." His eyes don't waver from your face. "There was a man in Syrup Village who had the same tattoos. I'm assuming he was from the island himself." You run your nails along the grooves in your skin. "He was able to drop the chains out of his arms and even control how they coiled and moved from a distance. It was, mostly, instinct." Your voice, already low, dropped even lower as you continued. "He was going to kill me and I didn't want to, so I struck back."
"He dead?" You blink and look up at him. His eyebrows are creased down and he's frowning at a small indent in the wood.
"What?"
"Is he dead? He hurt you, tried to kill you, is he dead?" Your teeth worry at your bottom lip as you look up at him.
"Yes." The crease on his brow eased slightly and he took your hand in his.
"Good."
A moment later, Usopp moves past Zoro to the main deck, calling to Luffy past the pair of you.
"So, we're... we're going after Nami, but how're we gonna find her?"
"Yeah, we don't even know where she is."
"Somewhere... with orange trees..." The words are mumbled, your face now buried back into Sanji's shoulder one deck below Luffy.
"I know someone who does."
You all join him below deck as he pushes a bag down around the disembodied head of a blue-haired clown. Luffy stands next to the table looking proud of himself as Sanji and Usopp watch on in horror and morbid curiosity. You and Zoro look at each, already done with the situation.
"Hello boys!" You duck your head closer to the green haired swordsman and he moves his own in closer.
"I vote we get the location and then throw him overboard." You don't see Sanji glaring at the other man's proximity to you.
"Agreed."

Helloooo 😗 can you write runaway bride reader (like Elizabeth from pirates of the Caribbean) x Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Buggy, Shanks, Mihawk ?
hii anon, sorry it took me long but here it is, i think it may be a little different you have in mind but still i hope u like it:]
also, i didn't write Buggy and Mihawk 'cause I didn't know how to cover their characters.
characters: Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Shanks (OPLA)
warnings: none
LUFFY
You're catching your breath after running like felt for hours and wearing your wedding dress is not helping, it's so heavy. Your gaze stops on the boat in front of you, it was small but it was your only option and, to be honest, everything was better than marrying someone you don't want.
“Oh, the news travels fast, you're here to be part of my crew?” A cheerful voice startled you, making you step forward almost falling into the water, but then again, he surprised you, stretching his arm further than a normal human grabbing you by your elbow, “what the he—” “devil fruit” he only responds shrugging shoulders, your mouth forms an oh.
“So I must tell you, you do look nice but I don't think you'll be comfortable wearing it on a boat” You make eye contact with him trying to figure out if he's joking but he's not. He looks genuine with that big smile on his face it's not a look you expect on a pirate. “Yeah, it's not comfortable, maybe I can change in our next stop?” The smile never left his face, in fact, it got bigger if that was possible. “YEAH, WELCOME ABOARD!” Then he helped you to get into the boat. “By the way, I'm Monkey D. Luffy and I'm gonna be king of the pirates” Maybe was his smile or the kindness he showed you but you felt that it would be a great adventure as long as he was by your side. “Let's go, captain!”
ZORO
You're running down the street, trying to lose the men that your father sent after you, turning your face to look behind you, you don't notice your dress getting in your way and the man in front of you until you bump into him, he holds you with both arms preventing you from falling to the ground.
“There she is!” One of the men yells, rushing towards you. You don't know if it's the adrenaline but you don't think twice before hiding behind the man with green hair. He looks confused but he doesn't move, instead, he covers you with his body. “Hand her over, this is a matter for the Marine and we'll let you go in peace” “It's a matter for the marine to marry a girl with someone by force?” this time you speak and you stand by his side instead of behind him. You're still scared but you weren't going to let them intimidate you, a smirk crossed Zoro's face at your sudden burst of confidence “You heard her now leave” one of them it's about to start a fight, grabbing his sword “Sir, he's the pirate hunter, I heard he has killed a lot of men with just one sword” he murmured but you could still hear him. That's why he looked so familiar to you, now it makes sense. “We'll let you go, but next time the entire Marine will be after you!” And then they ran away.
“I think we make a great team, Zoro” you're facing him now, and the smirk on his face falls “Don't even think about it” he starts walking away from you “Oh come on, I'll be the sassy and you the muscle” He keeps telling you No but you don't desist and still, he don't stop you from following him.
SANJI
Sanji is carrying a bag of vegetables in one of his hands, he's buying supplies for the Baratie in the town market so it's a little crowded. As he walks, he sees you in a wedding dress, you're out of place and you look lost but still you look pretty to him. He thinks of coming to ask you if you need help but someone passed by him quickly causing the bag in his hand to fall and the vegetables rolled on the ground. He tries to not get angry, after all, it's a crowded place. Sanji lift his eyes for a moment just to see you being cornered by three men of the marine and that's all it takes to lose his temper “Hey, stay away from her!” The people around him are quickly heading in the opposite direction, some of them have been in a fight with the cook and they know better to not get in his way when he's furious.
“First you ruined my vegetables and now you're bothering the lady, you really don't wanna fight me so I advise you to leave” Sanji is walking closer to the men and they don't know him obviously, because one of them tries to punch him in the face, he's quickly defeated by a kick on his stomach. The other two men look at each other, the both of them run to attack him at the same time, Sanji moves his right leg quickly and, if you weren't there, you would swear he never moved. With only one leg, he hit them hard in their heads making them fall on the ground.
He's awesome, you think, you have never seen someone like him before.
“Are you okay, madam?” He was dumbfounded by the beautiful smile on your face. “I'm great now that you're here” He tries to suppress a giggle but fails. “But seriously, thank you for your help, if it wasn't for you, I would be marrying a man who I don't love” He nods, “You must be hungry after all that chasing, so why don't you come with me to the Baratie? I promise I'll cook you something delicious and the dessert will be sweet just as you” Sanji winks at you, making you blush, “lead the way then”
SHANKS
“Stupid dress, they're gonna find me easily” your heart is beating fast, when is this gonna be over?
As you push people aside, mouthing apologies, someone is watching you across the street, you're struggling trying to find a place to hide, it's obvious you're running from someone but who?
Anyway, he doesn't stay to find out and pulls you into an alley, you try to fight back the grip on your wrist “let go of me” you raise your voice, the space between you and the redhead is non-existent, the alley is narrow, “Shhh” he whispers, putting his finger on your lips and before you can argue with him, a man from the marine pass by and your eyes widened, your body is shaking a little bit, Shanks can't ignore it practically he can feel it too from the closeness of your body even if he try it and he just wants to comfort you.
After a few minutes, you think it's safe to leave but you don't want to, you want to stay with him, it was a weird feeling, you didn't know him and almost as if he could read your thoughts, his voice brought you back to the present, “I have a place on my crew if you want to” your eyes make contact, he's sincere and that makes you happy, “I would like that, I promise you won't regret it”

ASL X MOTHER READER
Sorry it took so long to write this.
ASL BOYS REACT TO YOU, SPENDING SLEEP OVER WITH THEM.
LUFFY
"MOM?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" Luffy, ask, you smile. "Oh, to spend time with you and your crew." You said. Luffy jaw dropped to a surprise, and the whole crew drop.
Luffy introduced to you, his crew, and let say the straw hat crew we're pretty shocked. And whole crew will ask you so many questions.
Asking how you're luffy mother? How did you rise him? There is no way you rise a idiot?! Yeah... you told them that you rise Luffy and his brothers. Ace and sabo.
And your sister joins in too, luffy decided to give you some breakfast. He will just yell at sanji to bake food for you, "this tastes really good," you said.
"See! Sanji is the best cook!" Said luffy, luffy will tell you all the story he and his crew went, beat some bad guys. "Excuse me, luffy mom, can I ask you a question?" Nami asked.
(Luffy and your sister We're fighting about he took her lunch)
"Just call me Mrs. (Y/N) and you will call my sister Mrs. (S/N)," you said with a kind soft voice. "Mrs. (Y/N), how do you manage to sail across here?" She asked.
"Yeah, how do you and aunt (S/N) sail all the way here?" Luffy asks, you look at your sister. "Well, we didn't sail all the way to your ship. We flew." Said (S/N), "WHAT!?" The crew yelled.
"YOU CAN FLY!?" Chopper asks, with joy. (S/N) Look at Chooper with a confused look, "Who said, we can fly?" She questioned. Everyone was frozen thinking, if you and your sister didn't fly, then how did you fly.
Then, a loud noise sounded like a bird scream. The crew went out to see this bird creature:

"WHAT IS THAT!?" Nami yelled, "TAMA!!"Luffy yelled, hugging the creature name tama. The crew was frozen in shock, and zoro almost attacked tama.
Robin was curious about tama. You told them tama is a mountain banshee, and the strawhat crew never heard about the mountain banshee.
Yeah... so, you let luffy ride tama for a bit. You show some baby pictures book of your boys, luffy kinda embarrassed.
ACE
"MOM!?" Ace question, seeing you riding on tama. You told him you came here to have more time with him. And you meet whitebeard, "it been in a long time (S/N),(Y/N)" he said.
"I see you grown old, whitebeard," said (S/N), Edward laugh. "I see you become a mother. How was shank? Is he still flirting with you?" He asked, you chulked.
"Think again. He still hasn't given up," you said, shook your head. "Well, it been a long time, (Y/N)," said marco, and your siblings are here too, your brother. He was with whitebeard crew.
"(B/N)!" You smile, hug your brother, "you be pretty hungry, we have food here," said Ace. "And I won't forget tama," he said. (marco and your sister are having a fight cause in the past they promised if they met up again. And continue the fight)
You watch Ace eating some meat and talk about the adventures he had, and then he falls asleep. You laughed, and the whole crew started to laugh, too.
Ace shows you his fire skill and his sticker. You were amazed by his life he had, being a show off. But... you did bring a baby photo book of Ace when he was baby.
The crew tries not to laugh so hard, and ace is still kinda embarrassed. He wants to tell you not to show more baby photos of him, but you couldn't resist.
Whitebeard ask you and your sister to join them, but you can't. Cause you came here to see your son, it really hurt ace, but he understands.
SABO
You and your sister arrived at okama Island, where sabo is at, and you met Dragon, luffy Real Father. He thanked you for rising luffy as a mother.
"Mother! Is nice to meet you here! And you too, as well auntie (S/N)!" Said sabo, he hugs you tight, knowing that how much he misses his mother so much. You meet sabo friends, they pepper dinner.
Sabo eats quite normal. You remember he went crazy when he was a kid, he changed a lot. Your sister train sabo, how trust the creature from your hometown.
And she teaches him how to fly with tama, even though tama doesn't quite remember sabo, but she still remembers him when he was a kid. And guess what? You show them the baby photos book!
It was quickly when sabo remembered the photos. You're glad to see sabo again, and sabo told you how it happened. How he didn't die.
You teach sabo how to communicate with other animals from your country. You remember it was yesterday when you taught your sons about your hometown.
"Hey, mom... do you remember the lullaby? When you sang for us?" Said sabo, you smiles. "Hush, hush... Baby rabbit on the hillside... Why are your eyes so red? When I was small... mother ate the fruit of the red tree... and that's why my eyes are red" you sang
THANK YOU FOR WAITING!!! I

From nothing to something.
(Sanji x reader, part 2)
part 1

Word count: 2,9K words.
Content warnings: Use of curse words, slight use of alcohol and cigarettes.
Authors note: Thank you for the support on the first part. I’m very grateful for that. If you haven’t read the first part, feel free to read it!
P.S.: Sorry if there are sentences that are grammatically incorrect, English isn’t my first language, so my apologies in advance.
~~—~~—~~—~~
It was a 15 minute walk from your tiny house to the docks. You saw a few ships but they didn’t seem like the one you were looking for. The sun was already setting and you looked at the sunset for a second. You smiled and took a deep breath.
After a few minutes you started walking again and kept looking at the ships. You didn’t really see where you were going and before you knew it, you bumped into someone, making you fall onto the ground.
“Oh Shit, i’m so sorry!” You started saying while looking up at the person who you bumped into, seeing the green-haired guy looking at you, not amused at all. He mumbled something you didn’t understand and he held out a hand. “Watch where you are going.” You nodded and grabbed his hand. “Thank you.” You quickly said before you grabbed your stuff from the ground.
The green-hair guy lifted you up and soon enough you were standing again. He nodded and walked off.
‘What a weird guy.’ You thought before you began to walk again. After you walked for a bit until you saw a Jolly Roger with a skull and a straw hat on. You chuckled and laughed. “Why doesn’t this surprise me?” You asked yourself before you tried to see if you could see anyone.
You started to doubt yourself and was ready to walk away, until you heard someone scream your name. You turned around and saw the captain of the crew Luffy. He jumped off the ship, right in front of you. “So what do you say?” Luffy asked excitedly. “Yeah, I want to be part of the crew!” You reacted with the same amount of excitement.
He hugged you and after that, threw your bag onto the ship. You laughed at the action and smiled. “After you y/n.” Luffy said, pointing at the opening of the ship. You looked at the ship for a second, smiled and entered the ship.
Once you entered the ship, you started to look around. You saw some tangerine trees and smiled. “What a nice touch” you said softly while you walked up to them and took a closer look. You tried to touch one before someone grabbed your arm, which caused you to turn around.
“What the hell do you think you are doing here!” The same green-haired guy said angrily. “How the fuck did you do that?” You just asked confused, totally not frightened by the guy or the 3 swords he had. “I could ask you the same fucking thing. Get off this ship. You don’t belong here waiter.”
Luffy heard what was going on and came to check on you. “Zoro calm down, she’s part of our crew!” He said excitedly. Zoro looked shocked, but not really surprised. “So the cook was right about something.” He huffed and let go of your arm. He walked away, presumably to his room.
“Off to a great start.” You mumbled, before smiling and turning around. You saw the other boy and girl walk up to you and they introduced themself. “I’m the great captain Ussop.” Ussop started proudly. Nami laughed at Ussop and she quickly introduced herself, Following Zoro shortly after.
“The great captain Ussop you say?” You smiled slightly. Luffy was still standing there just taking it all in. “Yes! Finally someone who acknowledges me.” He smiled widely. “So captain, tell me. Why is Luffy the captain and why are you also a captain?” You tried to stay serious but smiled slightly. He was slightly taken aback but laughed it off.
“W-well you see.-“ He started to explain and Luffy laughed loudly, he couldn’t wait for Ussop to explain it to you. “Luffy couldn’t do this without me. See i’m a great sharp shooter and because of that, an amazing addition to this crew.” You nodded. “I see, well good to have you on the crew Captain Ussop.” You patted him on the shoulder and took a look at Luffy, who was now grabbing his stomach because he was laughing so hard.
“Luffy, can you maybe show me around?” You asked Luffy while you walked up to him. “No, I can’t but there is someone who can.” He grabbed your arm and pulled you into the ship, to the kitchen. You quickly looked back at Ussop who just held up both thumbs and mouthed something like ‘Goodluck’.
~~—~~—~~—~~
You entered the kitchen after Luffy, who was still holding on to your arm, basically dragging you along. You noticed that everyone (except Ussop, who was still outside) was in the kitchen, chatting away. When they saw you it all got quiet. Sanji tried to avoid eye contact and started chopping some vegetables and fruits.
“So anyone wants to show y/n around?” Luffy asked. Zoro looked at you and shook his head while slightly grinning. “Well I know someone whats to show her around. Maybe show her-“ He got rudely interrupted by Sanji who threw an apple core directly in between his eyes. Zoro got up and was ready to fight him at this point.
You were shocked by this but found this oddly amusing, quickly glancing at Nami who was now crying from laughter.
“Great! Who were you talking about Zoro?” Luffy asked, totally oblivious of the situation. You saw Zoro laugh and pointed at Sanji, who ignored Zoro and continued chopping up the remaining vegetables and fruits. “Awesome! We’ll leave you two too it.” Luffy said happily, Grabbing Zoro and Nami, leaving you two alone.
You were silent for a second, just looking at Sanji who was finishing up with the preparations for dinner. After what you felt was like eternity, you cleared your throat. “So..-“ You started off slowly. Sanji looked up and smiled. “I’m so sorry for Mosshead earlier. Hope he didn’t make a wrong impression.” He started, while he washed his hands.
“Yeah, no it’s fine. I’m used to a alot-“ You smiled. “u-uh from the restaurant of course.” You hit yourself, embarrassed at how stupid that sounded and heard Sanji laugh softly. “Please mademoiselle, don’t hurt yourself.” Sanji said as he dried his hands and walked over to you.
You felt your hart skip a beat and froze for a second. ‘Damn you are such a loser. Already crushing on the first (handsome) man that is nice to you.’ You thought to yourself while trying to play it cool. Sanji definitely noticed this but ignored it for now, trying not to act like a fool.
“Madam?” Sanji asked while he waved his hands in front of your face, smiling. You looked at him sheepishly before your cheeks turned a rosy pinkish colour. “I’m sorry, you were saying?” You asked trying to sound chill, but definitely failing.
Sanji let out a chuckle, enjoying the situation you created. “As I was saying Madam, Are you ready for me to show you around?” He asked while looking at you, his eyes shifting from your eyes to your lips and back to your eyes again. You just nodded. He smiled widely before he clapped his hands together. “Let’s get started Mi amore.” He walked to the door and held it open for you. You nodded and walked out of the door.
He grabbed your bag like the gentleman he is and started off showing you everything you needed to know, giving you random and stupid facts about all the rooms he was showing you. Now and then you let out a chuckle as he said something funny, or in your opinion, cute.
“And last but definitely not least; This is Nami and your room.” He opened the door and you saw two beds in a regular sized room. There were a few barrels, a few cabinets, a hammock and a chair. You smiled at Sanji while he placed your bag into the room. “Well, I’ll leave you to it for now, If you need anything Mademoiselle you know where to find M- u uh- us. I’ll call you for dinner in a bit.” Sanji said quickly, smiled at you and left.
~~—~~—~~—~~
You were in your shared room quite a while before Nami knocked on the door. “I’m coming in.” She said before she opened the door and looked at you. “Hi-“ You started while you turned around to look back at her. “You know, this was your room first so you don’t have to knock, but I very much appreciate it nonetheless.” You said kindly.
You were still busy unpacking, not fully knowing where to put everything. The floor was now filled with all of your stuff and you sat in the middle of it. Nami chuckled at the sight and carefully walked around all of the stuff and sat on her bed.
“Look, I’m not the best person to make friends but you seem nice. With that said, here are some rules. First, you don’t touch my stuff, Second, this cabinet is full of my maps but you can store important books or maps in here if you need to. Third, you can ask me anything and I’ll try to help you wherever I can.” You smiled. This solved 90% of your storage problems. “Thank you Nami.” You said happily, while putting everything away and sitting down on your bed.
You both talked for a bit about everything and nothing before you heard Sanji call for the both of you. “About time.” You said but it came out more as a whisper. Nami laughed, before standing up and looking at you. “Be prepared y/n. The food at your restaurant is nothing compared to the food Sanji makes, especially now that you are here.” She grinned and walked away. You followed her, confused at what she just told you.
You entered the kitchen after Nami, seeing Sanji handing every one their plate. He smiled widely when he saw you which made you blush slightly and quickly sat down in between Nami and Zoro. Sanji handed Nami her plate and then placed your plate in front of you. “Here you go madam, tell me what you think.” He looked at you once again, slightly blushing himself but luckily no one noticed.
You took a bite and closed your eyes with pleasure. “This is amazing.” You said once you swallowed the food. Sanji smiled to himself and nodded proudly. “Thank you.” He said. “Sanji you did it again! This is amazing!” Luffy shouted with a mouth full of meat, grabbing a few more pieces. This caused everyone to laugh.
Everyone enjoyed their food and chatted away. You actually started a conversation with Zoro, about his swords and he smiled slightly. “Well-“ Zoro started off, starting a full hour talk about each sword. You just looked fascinated and whole heartedly listened along.
Nami, Luffy and Usopp all left after dinner, leaving Zoro, Sanji and you behind in the kitchen. Zoro got two beers and gave you one as well, which you took gladly. You looked at Sanji who was now smoking and was cleaning in silence.
Zoro asked you about why you really wanted to join the crew. You smiled sadly. “Well, I’m here all on my own, my parents left when I just turned 16. They probably thought it would be better for me to stay here. I worked at the restaurant the past three years and I’ve always had a passion for the Grand line. I never really imagined going away from this place, mainly because it’s not really possible for me to go alone. Then you all came along and Luffy gave me an offer I could not resist, so here I am.” You chuckled slightly at the end of your sentence.
After a few beers and a long conversation, Zoro stood up and stretched. “I’m going to take a shower and head to bed. Welcome to the crew waiter.” He said to you. “Cook.” He mumbled as he left with his remaining beer.
You looked over at Sanji who just finished cleaning everything and was now sweeping the floor. You sighed. “Waiter, what a stupid nickname.” You mumbled towards Sanji. He looked at you and laughed. “Yeah, he is not really original with nicknames. He tends to call me Cook, as you just heard.” He said nervously, not really knowing how to react towards you.
You rested both of your arms on the table you were sitting at and rested your head on them. You didn’t really reply to what he was saying and just kept looking at him. “You need any help?” You asked him after a while. “No i’m good. Thank you Mademoiselle. Pretty girls shouldn’t do cleaning jobs anyway.” He said turning away from you, to hide his blush.
You grabbed the mop and made a soap mixture for the floor. “Well in that case I will get started with mopping the floor.” You said teasingly. Sanji sighed and turned to you. “You’re very stubborn love.” He smiled soflty.
You mopped the floor in silence, just like in the restaurant. It never got awkward between you and Sanji, as if you guys knew each other for an eternity. You were completely in thoughts when you bumped into him. You quickly turned around facing him. You looked around you and saw that you worked in circles and worked your way towards the middle of the room, meaning you were stuck there. You could of course mop behind you as you walk but that’s just extra work.
He laughed and looked around, seeing exactly what you were seeing. “Good job Mademoiselle.” He jumped up the counter and sat down. He patted the place next to him, motioning you should sit next to him. You copied him, while mopping the remainder of the floor and looked at him sheepishly. “Yeah, this was definitely my plan, I knew what I was doing.” You said confidently. He laughed loudly and nodded. “If you wanted to spend more time with me sweetheart, you could’ve asked me.” He said shooting you a smile and biting the inside of his lip.
“Yeah right. So you wanna stay here for a while and talk?” You said stupidly, causing him to laugh. “Ah, Yes definitely, I don’t have anywhere to go anyways.” He said that gesturing to the wet floor. You laughed along and looked around. “So.. How did you become part of the crew?” You asked him, looking at him curiously.
He started to explain the whole situation, from being on the ship while he was still young, to being stuck with Zeff on a rock. “Zeff taught me all that I need to know and I joined this crew, looking for the all blue.” He said smiling weakly. You looked at him confused. “T-the all blue, what is that?” You fully turned to him. Your legs were now touching his side.
His eyes lit up. “The all blue? The all blue is a legendary place where fish from all four seas — the East Blue, the West Blue, the South Blue, the North Blue — all meet. It’s a paradise for a chef like me.” He got really excited and grabbed a book from the cabinet beneath him. He opened it up and showed you all the different kind of fish and you just smiled at him, affectionately.
He looked back at you while explaining everything, seeing that you were actually interested and didn’t think it was boring. His cheeks turned a bright pink colour and he cleared his throat.
You saw this and smiled. “You okay there?” You asked slowly, but kinda teasingly. He looked at the ground. “Look at that, the ground is dry. It was really nice to talk to you mademoiselle but I have to leave.” He got up and rushed out of the kitchen, leaving you alone.
You sighed deeply and left after a second, going back to your shared room.
~~—~~—~~—~~
You opened the door and took a look inside, seeing Nami looking over at a few maps. “Ah just in time!” She smiled. Can you help me figure something out?” Nami asked while she gestured you to come closer. You took a look at the maps and helped her.
It was now late at night, so after Nami and you talked for a bit. Nami and you got ready first bed and you looked at her one more moment. “Nami can I ask you something?” You asked slowly. “Yeah, shoot.” She said, still with her eyes closed.
“What the fuck is going on with Sanji?” One moment he is really nice, and the second he runs off. I just don’t get it.” You explained confusingly, moving your hands around.
Nami laughed and moved over to her side, now facing you. “Look y/n, I can’t explain why he’s acting a certain way“ She started. “-But I can say that you are a really nice person, and yeah, he’s Sanji.” She was now fully grinning. You looked at her, once again very confused. Nami turned around. “Goodnight y/n. You’ll figure it out soon enough.”
With that she dimmed the lights and you were left in complete darkness, feeling confused about not only what was going on with Sanji but about your feelings towards this cook as well.

One Piece 1132
I don't have a lot of thoughts on this one, yet somehow it might be my favorite Elbaph chapter so far based on vibes alone!
OK I'M GONNA START WITH THE MID-CHAPTER DOUBLE SPREAD BECAUSE WOWWWWW. Wow. God the atmosphere and the scale and the art is off the charts. The Luffy and Usopp bit made me smile sooo hard I'm going insane in the head.
They're so cute. Usopp is so cute here, shut up!!! I'm so happy, this is so important to both of them! This gives me hope that their dynamic will be explored more once again. My boy's dream is coming true.........
Anyway as I said, I don't have too many thoughts this time around, but I am so so glad Oda found a way to unite every single group of characters in this chapter.
I tend to hate "everyone is separated and therefore confusion / misunderstandings / hijinks ensue" type plots, so this was a relief. But also, the convergence was just done in a very competent way, and the whole time there's a lighthearted and fun atmosphere that makes it fun to read.
This chapter in general just made me happy. It's a very charming and explorative chapter of small good things happening, before we settle into any serious plot. Somehow because of that, as I mentioned earlier, it's been my favorite so far!
Also I know I said this last time too, but I love Goldberg and Gerd so much as a little character duo. They have a very charming dynamic and really cute designs, I hope we see much more of them throughout the arc!
I like how Gerd comes off as kinda unintentionally patronizing towards humans lmao. She has good intentions but she kinda treats them like lost little puppies or something.
And speaking of the New Giant Pirates, people were probably right on Rodo being based on Gargamel a bit, lmao. This brought me back to my childhood, it definitely has that vibe. Good Saturday-Morning-Cartoon slapstick. Nice to see he continues to be absolutely terrible. But hey, at the very least he gets the lights kicked out of him by Goldberd and Gerd.
Speaking of old nostalgic cartoon and comic-book properties that inspired Oda in this arc, we also see a lot of that giant kid who seems to be based on Vicky the Viking again. Turns out his name is Colon and his family lives on the village on the second layer (the "Sun Realm" as they call it). The barmaid, who is presumably his mother, also mentions a character called "Ripley", but we don't know anything about who that is yet. I hope Colon ends up being the Aisha / Tama etc of this arc, it'd be really cute!
As far as more plot-important events go, we do find out that Loki and Luffy did in fact make a deal. Luffy does try to keep the secret, so that tells me he accepted it. I have a feeling this is Not Going to Go Well!
The chapter however, despite being very cheerful and fun, ends in a pretty sinister and spooky note. That tells me we're actually going to be here for a while lol, I'm so curious on where this will go. Note that Arnot is a character who's been mentioned before! Apparently he published a book with his adventures decades ago, and he was first mentioned having written about Whiskey Peak and Little Garden.
In this final page, we also see the silhouette of the mystery man in the kasa hat who's been allegedly waiting for the Strawhats again! Place your bets on who's it going to be. Is it Shiki? Gaban? The "Hinokizu / Flame-scar" Man? Someone from the Red-Hair Pirates? A completely new guy? Who knows! Looking forward to the next chapters!
(Hope I can find the time to do a little redraw of Usopp's little crying face, what a highlight for me!)

Ok so- what about a Royalty + Magic Shuggy AU? (+ Fem Buggy 'cause I love her)
In this AU, Shanks is a prince in the human world, while Buggy is a princesse in the magic world. They meet during their childhood while Buggy "accidentaly" (she just wanted to have a little adventure) goes to the human world, and the red head is enchanted by her uncommon blue hair and red nose. The two start to see each other regularly, but, they never tell each other they're royalty.
Shuggy were 7-8 when this happen, and their friendshipp ends up turning into a secret unofficial relatonship when they're 17. Everything is fine, until Shanks is named the King at the age of 18 and they fight (probably 'cause the richs initiated to intent to arrrange a marriage between Shanks and their daughters, and him kind of "don't do anything", while he does but don't have much/none result. Or Shanks ends up thinking she only wants money, because Buggy never accept shows up in front of the kingdom), leading to a break up.
Buggy is upset, really upset. She thinks about going back and telling the truth about her not being from his world, but then she see Shanks in a "date" with a girl (a daughter from some rich man), and thinks that actually he never loved her and just wanted the "emotion" from having a big secret. That now he is with someone he really loves (he isn't, he is regretting leting she go).
+10 years later, both were 29-30 and they never talk or even see each other again. Shanks only tells about Buggy to Benn and Mihawk (both don't believe it totally), while Buggy only tells her childhood best friends from the magic world, Alvida and Crocodile. She and Crocodile marry forced by their parents (but they don't mind. Yes, their marriage won't be with romantic love but at least they will be with someone they trusth).
Shanks, Benn and Mihawk, while going to a reunion in another kingdom, accidentaly go to the magic world after a accident in their ship. They are send to the king and queen, to be decided what do with them. Can think how much Shanks is surprised seeing the love of his life married?
Buggy decide to let them heal the injure before going back to the human world, and in the castle. She's confused, after more than 10 fucking years she's seeing her past lover?! And he's wanting to talk suddendly?!
Crocodile knows she never really moved on about Shanks, so even if this will make some fights with theirs parents, he's ready to divorce to her if she wants to marry Shanks (Crocodile may be serious but is a good friend).
Well, hope you enjoy the AU! I am a new anon and you can gave me any nickname you want ^^
I've never had an anon ask for a nickname themselves, so I will give you the very human name of: " J i m ", you are now human Jim, congrats!!! :))
Ok you covered a long timeline! I can tell you've thought about it for a bit.
Some of my thoughts if you don't mind...↓
I'd like to think that kid Buggy would escape to the human world as a break. A break from her duties and all the pampering. Yes, she lives being treated like a princess, but for a kid especially, it can be tiring. So maybe she travels with her own powers, or maybe a magic item. Though my favorite is if it's a type of tunnel or hole that she found, like in Alice in Wonderland or like in Coraline. The first time she crawled through with her big pompous dress and got it all dirty so she got scolded. From then on she learned to take a second pair of clothes before she crossed to the other world.
Shanks on the other hand, in my opinion, would be a very wild child. A bit like Luffy. So him stumbling onto the place where Buggy crosses from world to world seems very probable hahaha.
I think for Shanks it was love at first sight. He couldn't stop staring at her, he would think she was the most beautiful girl in the land. And the more he got to know her the deeper he fell in love with her. For Buggy it probably took at least a few months for her to develop a crush on him. After all, he's nice to her, he's fun and funny, he treats her like an equal and seems to like her too.
Shanks being with another girl is the ultimate betrayal. For Buggy, the one who has so many insecurities. Being replaced by the boy she gave her first kiss to? The one she wanted to get old with? Her best friend - the only one she thought could understand her, the only one she could trust?
When she marries Crocodile, she keeps complaining about Shanks. Always. Shanks this, Shanks that, even on their first wedding night - she flops onto the bed grumpily and starts talking about how she told explicitly that she didn't want that shade of red roses because they made her think of Shanks and the maids still put those exact ones. All Crocodile did was refrain from arguing and just thought about how good this marriage would be for the economy of both their kingdoms. With time they become good friends.
One day, Crocodile - in his study, hears the door slamming behind him to find his wife out of breath and red-faced. Before he could ask what was going on she told him "I- I just realized something... I..." she was ashamed and hesitant to say it "I think I still love him..."
Crocodile did his best not to roll his eyes.
She bites her lip and mutters another sentence that would make Crocodile's head spin "He uh... also he kinda followed me here... into our world..."
"He what!?" Crocodile dropped his inked-feather and almost fell off his chair.

Day 5: Kid - Keep Doing That, And You’ll End Up On the Naughty List
No one ever would’ve expected Kid to be in a relationship. But he was. He met you while traveling, you were an elementary school teacher. Definitely not the type of girl you would think he’d be with. You were small, sweet and quiet. He was loud, brash, and huge. But he came and visited you every chance he got. So since it was Christmas time, he figured it would be nice to actually see you for Christmas instead of just sending you some gold and jewels.
***
When he arrived on your island, it was about 10:30AM. That meant you were currently teaching your students. But thankfully, the teachers and principal at your school (shockingly) liked him, so he could come anytime he wanted. So he walked in. The school was an old rusty colored farmhouse. It wasn’t very large since they didn’t have many children to teach because of the size of the island. As he walked towards your classroom all of the little old ladies who you worked with waved and said hello and Merry Christmas to him. He finally reached the navy blue door to your classroom, he peaked in to see what you were doing. You were showing your students how to make marbled ornaments. He knocked on the door with his normal arm. He was afraid of knocking the door off its hinges again. You hear a knock and walk over to the door. You are shocked to see your punk rock pirate boyfriend. “Hi,” he says waving a little awkwardly, “ can I come in?” You nodded both shocked and happy he’s here.
“Hey kids,” you say, opening the door wider, “look who came to help make Christmas ornaments.” Kid walks into the room and all the kids get really excited. They love it when Kid comes to visit their class. He tells them stories of his adventures and shows them all of the cool stuff he’s been building. You’d never think that the man with a metal arm and anger issues would be so good with children.
“Captain Kid? Why aren’t you as good as Strawhat Luffy or Shanks?” little Zack asked.
Kid looked right at Zack, fuming, “what are you talking about? I’m just as good as them? Have you seen my bounty?”
“Theirs are higher than yours. Plus they look cooler than you!”
“You little twirp! I swear I’m going to…” before Kid could finish saying what violent act he was going to Zack you interrupted him, arms crossed anger dripping from your voice, “keep doing that, and you’ll end up on the naughty list!”
Kid stopped. He hated seeing you sad, but seeing you angry was scary. How ironic. Eventually, a few of the other children told Zack he was wrong because Luffy and Shanks weren’t better than Kid. Luffy and Shanks never came to visit them. Kid felt better knowing that these kids did really love him. For the rest of the school day, he helped you with your class. After the last kid left to head home, he walked you home. “Did you really have to yell at me in front of your class” he asked, a little annoyed as he looked down at you.
“Yes! I don’t need my kids acting up. And threading you with being on the naughty list was the best way,” you said smiling up at him. He blushed a little. His face was starting to match his hair at this point.
“Fine. But, I’ll be on the nice list after you see your Christmas gift.”
He grabbed your hand with his nonmetal arm. He led you back to the Victoria Punk to get your gift. Let’s just say, it was shiny and fit perfectly on your ring figure.

i love those fics where the straw hats r in modern times but have vague memories of the previous life - i'd really like one (and there might be one already lmao idk) where luffy is the one who doesn't remember out of the straw hats
the first straw hat to see luffy in modern times is jinbe, who sees him when he's a kid - he double takes but luffy is there with ace and that chokes jinbe up too and before he can approach the two leave - jinbe reminds himself that he hasn't had his memories for that long and luffy is still a kid - if the straw hats get their memories, it'll be as they get older, jinbe just has to be patient
/
sanji is in junior high; he's in a cooking lab, it's after school. he's been having these strange dreams and at first he dismissed them as just that but he has them over and over; he's there in the cooking lab, after school and a flash of green catches his eye and he hesitates for a few minutes before rushing after it and there's one of the people from his dream - zoro
zoro seems equally surprised to see him and they just stand there, not knowing what to say, and how to react - both recognizing each other but not really
/
nami knows here strange dreams are more than dreams; she knows it but no matter where she looks she can't find any of the people in them
its a coincidence that her mother took her sister and her a little out of town to shop - it's a coincidence that an art shop catches her eyes and she wanders in, hoping to find some new inking pens - it's a coincidence that another teenager with a peculiar nose is there too and the name spills from her almost instinctively and usopp turns in confusion but only momentarily as recognition fills in
/
nami and usopp and sanji and zoro
the next people to run into each other are sanji and usopp - and quite literally at that; they bump into each other on the street one day and when they both look up to apologize they gasp and thats how all four of them become together
"do you know where the one with the strawhat is"
"...luffy?"
/
robin is at the library and theres a small child there trying to reach for a book too high and too advanced; she gets up ultimately and grabs it for him and he's so familiar (she feels herself holding on to something that isn't there again) but she cannot explain why and he looks at her with a strange expression but they do not speak further
not until its been weeks and they come to the same library and chopper asks if she would mind a study buddy
/
brook is strumming his guitar at the side of the street - he's been playing a lot of concerts in recent years and wanted to just relax now - relaxation is still music though, so he found a nice place to sit and started to play - in his mind he can hear a voice singing , out of tune as it may be, and he already knows who it is - he already knows about his memories
he should search for them - he supposes - but he never knows if they'll remember
he strums more, beat switching to something more familiar and then someone tells him he used to play this all the time and that is how brooks meets jinbe
/
franky's strange dreams in the midst of his stranger dreams are of no concern to him
sure they leave him empty and wishing sometimes but they mean nothing
not until he's fixing up some car at his workshop and a group of four come in specifically asking for him
thats how franky meets usopp nami zoro and sanji
/
vivi tells all her strange dreams to her pet; she writes them down, dreams of adventure and friends and one day she decides she'll write them into a book - something as grand as all the people who live in her head
she heads to a local library to start
she meets someone who she feels she should resent but cannot truly
/
luffy has no such dreams
/
the second person to meet luffy is brook who's open guitar case luffy puts a few dollars in and then pauses when the music stops and the man stares at him
"lu-"
"luffy!" whatever he's going to say is forgotten as luffy's brother calls for him and luffy heads to him instead
luffy doesn't remember brook realizes; it's okay though, he'll just wait longer
/
luffy has two older brothers; they don't have strange dreams either; all three of them are content in their life - in their shared apartment, close enough to both ms. makino's and dadan's places
they are content and happy to live as brothers - they do whatever they want; sometimes it feels like people are watching them
ace opens a flower shop in honor of his mother
luffy likes the colors so he sits there in his free time
/
usopp is only at the flower shop to pick up something for his mother
"those are the flowers my brother gives his mom!" an achingly familiar voice says
usopp turns around, words and breath caught in his throat - he doesn't know what to say but he must have said something becuz next thing he knows he's making his way to his mother, that very bouquet in his hand
luffy doesn't remember
/
one by one they all meet luffy; luffy with his same smile; luffy with his happy content life with his brothers; luffy with no recognition in his eyes
suddenly they are too big, too strange, too different to fit into luffy's life where he seems to have everything
/
they forget that luffy is easy to love and loves just as easy and always has room for more people
even these strange ones with memories in their eyes luffy will never know
/
anyway the idea is that all the strawhats but luffy recall their past life and feel some sort of emptiness they all try to find luffy and meet him in various times and he never recognizes them
they meet each other too, gradually, and become friends but theyre still searching for luffy - but luffy is content in his life unlike them, he's with his brothers and he's happy and at that realization they suddenly feel as if they are trying to impose onto his life - but of course luffy is luffy and he may not remember but he has plenty of room to welcome people into his life and yeah

okay so after seeing all of the first three episodes again last night with friends and falling even more in love with the cast than before, i finally got around to episode 4 today. some thoughts:
i can't gush enough about the set design, it's all absolutely gorgeous. i was completely in love with the little clearing where young zoro and kuina have their match, just seeing the sunlight filtering through the trees...it really gives off that kind of nostalgic, romantic feeling that you get when you think back to a simpler time in your life. and of course, kaya's mansion is gorgeous! it doesn't look like yet another generic rich person mansion. it has character! i loved all the wall art in their dining room, i like the orderly yet cozy cluttered feeling of the kitchen, i love how it all feels lived in, like it has a history
talking more about the technical aspects, i love the costume design too! i like the slightly too clean look of the marine uniforms - it brings notice to the fact that these are new cadets who don't have much fighting history. i like that both nami and sham get to wear practical clothes! no stupid high heels for nami! no short shorts!
i didn't mention this last time, but i LOVE jacob's version of usopp. it's crazy that they managed to find a guy who can do usopp's over the top facial expressions in real life. they really lucked out with this entire main cast, i can't imagine literally anyone else playing our beloved straw hats. i hope we can see at least one more season, and i hope i adore robin and chopper just as much as i love these the east blue crew
as sad as it is, i'm glad that it seems like merry really is dead. i like this more brutal direction for the live action, because it feels like there are actual consequences for them, and i like that you can't take for granted that just because someone survived in the manga/anime, it means they'll survive in the live action too
the child actors are a little stiff, but i think they're really doing a good job given how young they are! young zoro's actor was definitely doing a better job that kojiro's. he sold his grief over kuina's death very well
speaking of koshiro, i still fuckin hate that dude. he did kuina so dirty with his sexism, convincing her she had no future as a swordswoman, making her believe that she could never stand up to men.
i think having koby and helmeppo show up at kaya's mansion and inevitably get duped by kuro was a good choice. it lets koby get a little more experience in a leadership position, and more than that, it helps establish usopp's distrust of the marines. from the beginning he was always interested in the romantic view he had of pirates because of his dad, but seeing that the marines failed him, even after they said they would help him, and that they didn't believe him no matter how much he begged them to, it helps establish a reason for him to go along with the pirates when they invite him to. the marines didn't do shit to protect kaya, but luffy and his friends did everything they could. they loved kaya, maybe not as much as usopp, but they wanted her to be safe.
side note, it's kind of hilarious to think about helmeppo trying to kill luffy, and then going back to the ship and finding out that he's garp's grandson 💀💀
when we are! started playing in the background as the going merry set sail for the first time with her crew...i cried, i'm not ashamed to admit it. gosh, i missed her, and i miss the first opening. it's so nice to see her get to go on more adventures with her crew in this new medium! i know some people were unhappy with her figurehead, but i just adore it, it suits her crew well
luffy's little shit-eating grin when kaya just gives them merry for free, and nami being just SO exasperated because he's gonna be so insufferable now, it made me laugh so hard! i love these idiots
when usopp and luffy were arguing about which one of them was captain, and nami just burst out laughing? and then zoro started chuckling too? that was so healing! they've already had good chemistry so far, and they've shown loyalty, but it's so nice to finally see zoro and nami kind of starting to admit that they do like these people they've become friends with, and it's nice to see that they're coming around to how much they care about luffy
i was a little iffy about them doing the garp reveal at the end. my first instinct was to be really annoyed by it, but after thinking on it for a moment, it honestly does make sense. in the first place there wasn't really a plot reason to put off the reveal until post enies lobby anyways. and then you also have to take into account that it would be a huge success if we ever even get a second season, let alone reaching post enies lobby. so it's not ideal, but i'm not too upset at them about it. ALSO, seeing zoro, nami, and usopp's reaction to the news was fucking hilarious. i hope we get some good dynamics in the next episode! i want to see garp call luffy his idiot grandson. i want that funny family dysfunction.

I am a baldur's gate 3 enthusiast, played it so much and thinking about it in the terms of Lawlu
Law as the vampire elf pretending very badly to be human, with a master (Doffy) stalking his shadow. Once was a royal physician in the main city and uses that as an excuse of why he is always covered in or has blood around him
Luffy is funny as just Tav, is just a dude who got caught and broke out, and started poling his nose into everyones problems, probably grew up in and around brothels in the city, so there was a lot of gossip to get into and he's used to it. Would do odd jobs and help people in much the same way. Heh, and their is a god, Nika, just hanging out at camp cause it thinks Luffy's shenanigans are fun, providing random revivals for the party.
Law, thinking he is doing a great job in manipulating Luffy, being so totally lowkey about his past (not), and sure he tried to drink Luffy's blood then made excuses about it, but all he had to say is that he's hungry.
It would be also funny if Luffy is like 'wow, this feels nice' and falls asleep, while Law 'never had a drop of living human blood' cant stop himself, so drinks him dry. Luffy revived the next day would punch him, and then go "If you're hungry, feel free to have some again" leaving a very dumb founded Law rubbing at his cheek, sitting on the furs of his tent all confused. He was sure that he was going to be killed, or atleast have an uncomfortable talk there.
There is a charged tattoo scene where Law shows him his back, and Luffy gently traces the lines and makes some comments of things it reminds him of all silly and made to relax Law. They cuddle all night like that, Luffy would say no to having sex, because he sees the look on Law's face, he knows it well from his time growing up in brothel's that were not always great, and is not into that at all. Being around a hypersexualized environment, he's seen a lot and generally finds sex boring most of the time with little sex-drive of his own, so Law trying to seduce him that way fails every time xd. He tries but soon finds out giving Luffy some tasty food works much better lol
Their adventure goes on like that, Luffy teaching Law what it means to be free and how to have fun while meandering through the countryside with barely a goal in mind or so, it seems.
Then they get to the city, Luffy without hesitation goes to the nearest brothel, asks about who is the main vampire in the city slums now, they get attacked, he watches as Law gets a little feral in the interaction with his siblings. It's hot xd
Then Luffy just beelines it for Doffy's mansion, fuck him and his plans for daywalking immortality.
Trusts Law to make his own choices about the others hurt by Doffy, Luffy is someone who will let others take their own freedoms and sit back, he prefers it even
After it is all done, he is there to hold Law (let us hug him Larion!).
Main missions shenanigans, people talking big about nonsense Luffy dont care about, he's just here to punch a giant brain cause it tried to take his freedom!
They probably go to the underdark after, find a bunch of problems to solve, Law disappointed he can't see the sun again. Luffy just rolls his eyes, digs through his bags and casually pulls out a million trinkets they pulled of random vampires that let Law do whatever he wants, and they just travel around, doing adventures and helping their other party memebers who may not have had all their problems solved just yet.

ok so, i'm new in the vinsmokecest world but i already love it. i'm just thinking about an au where the poison sora drink worked in 124-ji too, but just making them fell when this comes to their dearly brother, sanji.
they secretly treat him nice, and even if they don't fell anything when sora dies, sanji do, so they comfort him the best the 124-ji can. they aren't there when their brother is locked, and they also aren't there when reiju saves him and let him run away. so when they come back, all the three boys know it's sanji is dead.
this break their hearts, but they can't do anything, so they just act like this don't broke them. years pass, and niji notices reiju is acting weird, sneaking out sometimes, but he pays no mind. until one boring day, where he decides to follow her, at a restaurant named 'baratie' and it's when a boy with blonde hair, blue eye and a curly brown appear. it's sanji, alive.
he runs at ichiji and yonji and tells the news to them, and when reiju comes back they confront her, wanting to know if this is true or not. and turns out it's true, and their precious brother was alive the whole time. 124-ji start to see him from afar, making sure he was good, and they do this during years.
until they have to go to a long mission, and when they come back they just discover sanji is now in the crew of some pirate, and the three have to look for him again, what take almost two months without them knowing if he's good. and after this, they start to see him from afar with his crewmates (nome of them know why, but everytime they see sanji giving attention to one of these girls they fell a strange thing in the chest).
124-ji just observe him until WCI, where at the same time they're happy about having him again, but also sad because sanji is doing this not because he wants but because he wants his crewmates alive. and it's in the germa castle they act for the first time, each of them confessing and kissing him, all of them being accepted from sanji.
after this, they help the strawhats to ruin sanji's wedding, sanji saves them as canon, and they go back at they next adventure. a promisse made by the 1234-ji: 'after luffy turn into the king of pirates and i found the all blue, i will marry you three' before the mugiwaras go away.
Welcome anon! There's only like five people in this vinsmokecest boat but we're all nice here
124ji only loving sanji and observing him from afar are two of my favorite concepts!! There's just something about the whole "no one else matters but you and we'll make sure nothing ever happens to you" thing that just pulls at the right strings for me 🥰
And imagine if after sanji finds the all blue and opens a restaurant there he decides to get 124ji to live there with him?? They might hesitate at first in fear of judge's reaction, but sanji makes puppy eyes at them and how can they resist?? How can they say no?? They'd fight judge, germa's army and the whole world if it meant they could spend the rest of their lives with sanji
