Why is Demeter so absent during the Gigantomachy? we get a lot of goddesses defeating giants (Athena, Artemis, the Moirai, Hekate, Hera) but nothing on Demeter?

got reminded of the hades 2 odysseus design and ugh. ugh. I know it's silly but ugh I simply do not like that design!
You can just let a 50 something year old disshevelled sad guy that's been lost at sea for a decade after being at war for another one look like...well like a guy like that would look like! You don't have to make him a conventionally attractive 20 something with maybe the tiniest bit of stubble.
Genuinely if someone showed me Patroclus sprite from game 1 and Odysseus' from this one and asked me which is which I would not have guessed correctly
Also they hit Artemis's face with the 'conventionally attractive cutesy anime girl' beam

Rambling about Despoina, because I have a lot of questions about her and my brain is broken.
Despoina is probably one of the most obscure Goddesses from Greek Mythology. She's considered the Goddess of Arkadian Mysteries, yet at the same time people doubt wheter or not she's a stand-alone deity or just another epithet for another goddess (usually Persephone). To make things even more complicated now, her name isn't actually one. It's an epithet, and "her true name and function were revealed only to the intitiates". "Despoina" was also an epithet used for Demeter and Persephone as well.
Now, there have been made a lot of speculations and assumptions based on the few things that we know about her. The most common theory is that Despoina was in fact the Arcadian equivalent of Persephone, and that Mycenaean Poseidon later got divided into Poseidon and Hades. On short: many people believe that back in the Mycenaean Greece there were Two Goddesses worshipped together as the Two Queens, later refferred to as the Two Mistresses: Demeter and Despoina. It is very likely that both of them are two later versions of two pre-Greek Goddesses of Arcadia. At the same time we have Mycenaean Poseidon, who was not only the god of the sea, but had strong associations with the Underworld as well. He also seemed to be in close connection with the Two Queens and form some sort of a divine trio with them, since he was refferred to as the King. Later, Despoina slowly became Persephone, whereas some of the attributes that were initially associated with Poseidon were taken away from him and used in order to create another god, Hades, because ancient people considered that it's better to have two separate deities for these two different realms. Finally, we're reaching Classic Greek Mythology, where Persephone is the daughter of Demeter and Zeus, Hades is her husband, and Poseidon is the only one of the Big Three who didn't bang her.
This theory is highly accepted because it seems the most plausible one (plus the fact that there aren't enough surviving sources from that time leaves an open door for whatever thoughts could cross people's minds), yet at the same time highly criticized for rightful reasons, such as the fact that there's a chance that Hades might've been an already existing deity in Mycenaean Mythology, but because there are no surviving written works about him from that time there's nothing certain. Another reason is because not everyone considered Despoina to be just an epithet or an older version of Persephone. And by "not everyone" I mean Pausanias:
Pausanias, Description of Greece 8. 25. 5 (trans. Jones) (Greek travelogue C2nd A.D.) :
"When Demeter was wandering in search of her daughter [Persephone], she was followed, it is said, by Poseidon, who lusted after her. So she turned, the story runs, into a mare, and grazed with the mares of Onkios (Oncius) [in Arkadia (Arcadia)]; realising that he was outwitted, Poseidon changed into a stallion and enjoyed Demeter. At first, they say, Demeter was angry at what had happened, but later on she laid aside her wrath and wished to bathe in the Ladon . . . Demeter, they say, had by Poseidon a daughter [Despoine (Despoena)], whose name they are not wont to divulge to the uninitiated, and a horse called Areion (Arion)."
According to him Despoina and Persephone aren’t the same goddess, but two different deities. On top of that, Despoina was conceived during the time when Demeter was searching for Persephone, being youger than her, and has a horse twin brother. Which is very weird, considering the fact that Pausanias wrote this about 800 years after Homeric Hymns to Demeter, and this is the only source that states that Despoina and Persephone are two different goddesses.
Here's another fragment:
Pausanias, Description of Greece 8. 37. 1 - 8. 38. 2 :
Despoine the Arkadians worship more than any other god, declaring that she is a daughter of Poseidon and Demeter. Despoine (Mistress) is her surname among the many, just as they surname Demeter's daughter by Zeus Kore (Core, the Maid). But whereas the real name of Kore (the Maid) is Persephone, as Homer and Pamphos before him say in their poems, the real name of Despoine (the Mistress) I am afraid to write to the uninitiated.
Here he states that Despoina is her surname (just how Kore is a surname for Persephone). But while we do know that Kore is Persephone, Despoina's real name still remains a secret. What is really weird here is... why would they be afraid to say her real name in the first place? We know for a matter of fact that Ancient Greeks were usually scared of saying the real names of the Underworld deities. Hades for example is always refferred to by lots of epithets and euphemisms, because people believed that by saying or writing his real name they would arouse his wrath. In this case then Despoina could be a chtonic deity as well, yet her affiliations with the Underworld are unclear, if they really exist.
But then, if Despoina would be a chtonic goddess, and she isn't Persephone, then who else could she be?
Pausanias, Description of Greece 8. 37. 1 - 8. 38. 2 :
"From Akakesion (Acacesium) [in Arkadia (Arcadia)] it is four stades to the sanctuary of Despoine (Despoena, the Mistress). First in this place is a temple of Artemis Hegemone (Leader) [probably Hekate (Hecate)], with a bronze image, holding torches, which I conjecture to be about six feet high. From this place there is an entrance into the sacred enclosure of Despoine.
[...]
Demeter carries a torch in her right hand; her other hand she has laid upon Despoine. Despoine has on her knees a staff and what is called the box, which she holds in her right hand. On both sides of the throne are images. By the side of Demeter stands Artemis [probably here identified with Hekate] wrapped in the skin of a deer, and carrying a quiver on her shoulders, while in one hand she holds a torch, in the other two serpents; by her side a bitch, of a breed suitable for hunting, is lying down.
Judging by these two experts, there is a small, vague chance that Despoina might be strongly identified with Hecate. Besides the fact that Despoina was one of Hecate's epithets as well, she was sometimes considered to be the daughter of Demeter. Hecate also plays a major role in Homeric Hymns to Demeter, and near the end of the myth she becomes Persephone's attendant and substitute queen. On top of that, Hecate shares some similarities with Poseidon, especially in Hesiod's Theogeny: ". . . and to those whose business is the in the gray discomfortable sea, and who pray to Hecate and the loud crashing Earth-Shaker, easily the glorious goddess gives great catch and easily she gives it away. . .”
Another possibility is that Despoina was supposed at one point to have a symbolic value above it all and/or to be a concept rather than a physical goddess, since "Despoina" literally means "Mistress", Persephone was refferred to as Kore ("Maiden") during her time with her mother, and while we don't know for sure what is "Demeter" supposed to mean, the "'-meter" part most probably means "mother". Which suggests that Persephone, Despoina and Demeter were probably supposed to be some sort of a Maiden/Mistress/Mother trio.

What do you think about pairing Hecate and Demeter as lesbian lovers?
I don’t really care for it tbh especially considering that one source considers them to be mother and daughter which has some interesting implications. Tho it is just one source so I don’t mind other ppl shipping them.
Like I know it’s Greek mythology but ships between parents and children as well as grandparents and grandchildren just don’t sit right with me.

watched the new PJO series so obviously I am thinking about a PJO au
branwen — daughter of poseidon, as established. has been at camp for ages, knows everyone, has been on a bunch of quests and is always excited to meet new campers. rarely lets being a daughter of the Big Three get to her
daichi — son of athena. I know apollo is right there but a) his dad is way more of an athena guy and b) wisdom, reason, strategy, (healing) crafts and warfare are more his vibe than poetry or archery, sun or no sun. also, I think him being the odd camper out in the infirmary is very on brand. a very quiet and solemn camper but a menace at the training grounds.
eniko — unclaimed and living in the hermes cabin, but he's a son of boreas (the north wind, god of storms and winter). forever tied to the cold, son of a minor god, altogether insignificant. got lucky (or unlucky) that an older demigod caught wind (no pun intended) of him before the monsters did and trained him up right. came to camp late knowing way too much about everything. lowkey the favorite of his cousin tyche.
minah — daughter of nemesis.
lira — daughter of athena. she’s raised knowing it, but she's close with her human family despite that.
vesper — daughter of hephaestus. inherited his proclivity for fire and a knack for crafting, though her creativity tends to be more along the theoretical and magical axes than forge work or smithing. it was just another mark against her in her father’s eyes, even if the red hair made it easy to mistake her for his full-blooded daughter

You know what we don’t talk about enough?
…the Apollo campers who aren’t good at archery, or singing, or nursing. The Apollo campers who prefer working behind the scenes
…the Athena campers who aren’t that good at math or English, or history. But enjoy art and music
…the Hermes campers who are horrible liars
…the Ares campers who are sweet and gentle with every glance and touch
…the Aphrodite campers who aren’t all into makeup and fashion; and love history
…the Hephaestus campers who don’t like working in the forges but enjoy making clothes and designs
…the Dionysus campers who don’t like theatrics are and lurk in the corner
…the Demeter campers who don’t like planting, but like curling up with a book about nature
…the Hecate campers that love helping in the infirmary
…the Hypnos campers who love being active
…the Nemesis campers who enjoy peace and quiet
…the Iris campers that like muted colors
…the unclaimed campers that just want to have fun

aaaaaanyways. pride month at Camp Half Blood?
if you remember that one post from a while ago (general hc’s about chb), I did say I would do a fully pride post eventually
so without further ado, I present to all my lovely gay demigods:
PRIDE MONTH AT CHB🗣️🗣️
SO we’ve already discussed the decorations of some of the cabins, like Percy putting rainbow hippocampi scales all over the walls, the Demeter and Persephone cabins growing colorful flowers all over their roofs, the Hecate cabin and its Sentient Gay Door
I like to think the Iris cabin is just fully blasting rainbows all the time it looks like a Minecraft beacon
they play capture the flag every June with a pride flag that has the CHB logo on it
limited edition CHB pride merch😭
Mr. D defending trans campers by driving bigots slightly insane long enough to slap themselves and then go back to normal
Y’ALL KNOW ABOUT THE PRONOUN CORRECTION AIR HORNS? THAT’S THE ENTIRE APOLLO CABIN + LEO AND PERCY
Some ignorant prick about a transmasc camper: “Oh yeah she—“
Percy: *AIR HORN* “IT’S HE, BITCH”
Ignorant prick: “Okay Jesus I’m sorry”
A different ignorant prick: *makes some dumb joke about “always being able to tell” and receives at least seven different air horns from all the Apollo campers in the vicinity*
Leo’s been following this one really irritating chick around all day because she can’t figure out one of his sibling’s genders and blasting her in the face every time she fucks up their pronouns😭😭😭
anyways yeah I like to imagine there’s a demigod pride festival somewhere, maybe in New York
or no there’s demigods everywhere I bet they have parade floats all the time in lots of cities and the Mist conceals the “fireworks” which are actually just godly light shows
Apollo rocks up to camp in a rainbow crop top and a pink drink from Starbucks just to sing Born This Way in the middle of the day and then dip again
Aphrodite blessing random queer couples with finding perfect date setups “conveniently” in their paths
all the gods physically restraining Hera when she tries to go fuck with Jason while he’s on a date w Leo
Percy and Annabeth in matching shirts that say ✨BEST BI✨ with the Best Buy price tag logo in the middle
Nico got glitterbombed on June 1st the second he stepped out of his cabin by the entire Apollo cabin (and Jason) and is still finding sparkles in his hair a week later
Aphrodite kids are walking dictionaries of all the rainbow terms, somehow, and they also all know which days in June are for which awareness or pride or whatever flag
campers who transitioned over the school year and coming back to camp a different gender and their godly parent re-claims them as their true self
Percy “I can’t believe I used to think I was straight” Jackson educating some of the younger campers on bisexuality and how, no, you don’t always know right away
Annabeth “I had a crush on Thalia and Luke at the same time and it was horrible” Chase always reassuring the nervous kids that there’s nothing wrong with being queer (and that she’ll fight any homophobic family members they may have)
actually they kind of all do that
Some little kid: “Well……. I don’t wanna tell my stepdad, he might kick me out”
Percy, remembering that his dad kept Medusa’s head after it got sent to Olympus: “Give me your address, I have an idea”
Piper will verbally eviscerate anybody she catches being even remotely homophobic. I mean she will swipe phones out of her siblings’ hands to tell off some ignorant grandmother
Jason does NOT get into physical altercations outside of sparring and literal war, but the closest he ever got was after hearing someone call Nico a slur (Percy and Leo had to physically drag him away from the other guy)
William Solace has white cowboy boots. I Will Start Sobbing On The Spot
Percy and Jason wore matching skirts for the pride festival and it was great— these 6-foot-plus brick shithouses of heroes who have single-handedly won wars aggressively waving tiny pride flags at each other and dancing to IT GIRL on the quad
Cecil and Lou Ellen made these magic rainbow smoke bombs, crawled up on the roof of the Hermes cabin, and slingshotted them into the masses Just Because™️
(Will’s hair was blue and pink for weeks)
RAINBOW WAR PAINT FOR CAPTURE THE FLAG.
Clarisse fucking kicked someone into the lake because they made fun of one of her siblings’ dyed hair
Connor thought it would be funny to leave a mini pan flag on top of Mr. D’s Diet Coke stash, mostly as a harmless joke, but the next day he noticed Mr. D had tucked it into his horrible Hawaiian shirt pocket like a handkerchief😭
watching Love, Simon in the amphitheater for movie night and half the campers had to excuse themselves early for sobbing too hard
Malcolm and Annabeth reread Red White and Royal Blue every summer. They say they’re Henry and June, Connor is Alex, and Percy is Nora
(this is confirmed when the two of them start a foot fight in the dining pavilion with a Chipotle burrito)
Leo IMing Jo and Emmie to wish them a happy pride (and tell Georgina and Waystation I said hello)
Piper and Leo getting into a HEATED debate about whether Velma Dinkley is a lesbian or not
”YOU CANNOT LOOK AT HER OVERSIZED-SWEATER-OVER-MY-PROM-DRESS ASS AND TELL ME YOU THINK SHE’S TOTALLY STRAIGHT—“
”WHAT SHE AND SHAGGY HAD WAS REAL, BEAUTY QUEEN! HOT DOG WATER AIN’T GOT NOTHIN ON NORVILLE ROGERS—“
”LEO! HER NAME IS MARCIE! AND THEY ARE EACH OTHER’S W A L L P A P E R S .”
Jason, sitting in the middle of them, now deaf in both ears: Lupa give me strength
GUYS PLEASE SEND ME SPECIFIC SHIPS OR CHARACTERS TO WRITE PRIDE HC’S FOR I WOULD LOVE TO🙏🙏🙏🙏

“The water is Fine! Stop being a wimp and jump in” You laughed swiming around. About an hours walk away from camp after sneaking out one night you had found an old hidden moon pool most likely an old witch ceremony place. Taking the context from old runes carved on the walls with ruined alters spread about. Directly in the middle of the mountain it was hard to notice unless someone fell in… which you did.
Swimming on your back silena shouted from beside you. “Common lise! We’re waiting on you”
“Give me a Minute damn!” she shouted from the top while tying her hair back. Clarisse grumbled something incoherent before running over the edge jumping.
Landing in water near the group you laugh as her splash hit you. You swam over to the surfacing girl. “You good” chuckling while moving a curl from her face.
You heard silena whisper something to Charlie and Chris making them both chuckle. Shooting her a small glare you rolled your eyes.
“This is stupid” Clarisse commented while placing her hands on your hips to support your body in the water. You always had a confusing relationship with clarisse, we’re You Friends, Friends with benefits, talking? A situationship? Honestly you didn’t know and it kinda pissed you off.
“Shut up it is not, this is fun” you teased wrapping your arms around her neck. “Besides no annoying lil kids to fuck up the mood”
Breaking the tension Chris coughed “Cringe”
Clarisse only gave him a dirty look making you laugh. He just swam over to his date which was a daughter of Demeter. Rolling your eyes you faced clarisse once again.
“Must be nice” clarisse shrugged gaining your attention once more. Tilting your head you hummed in response. “I mean having a relationship, you know the whole girlfriend I love you bullshit”
Raising an eye brow you scoffed. “What happened to the ‘i don’t do relationships’ girl from just a few weeks ago”
She just shrugged her shoulders. “What can I say I’m a changed woman”
“Uh huh” you pursed your lips unamused. Pushing her off of you, you swam deeper into the pool, smiling as you heard clarisse grumbled under her breath.
——
You sat on the edge of the pool, tossing your dagger in hand you smiled while talking with silena.
“So your not dating clarisse? I could of been fooled” she chuckled. Looking across the way you watched as clarisse had the Demeter girl on her shoulders while Chris sat on Charlie’s, both teams playing chicken.
“As if were nothing more than friends shes made that clear” mumbling the last half of your sentence, turning your gaze up you watched as the sky moved- wondering what your mom was doing. Lost in thought you hadn’t noticed when clarisse snuck up on you.
Her body still in the water clarisse placed her arms over your thighs, slightly laying on your bottom half she grinned up at you. “You see that? I totally beat Chris’s ass”
“I’m sure you did” you chuckled looking down at her with a subtle smile. You felt an odd sense of anger and happiness when you were around Clarisse, like you wanted to strangle her but also kiss her. You just couldnt make up your mind.
“Hey YN! You sure where’s no monsters here right?!” Chris yelled across the way.
Looking over at him slightly offended you yelled back. “Yes I’m sure! I searched this place in and out there’s no monsters!” You rolled your eyes mocking the boy with your hands making clarisse laugh.
Sitting around a small fire that Charlie had made you all looked up from the top of the cliff and watched the stars while talking.
You laid close to clarisse, her arm wrapped around you while you traced soft shaped onto her leg. “That’s stupid” Clarisse bluntly spoke not enjoying Chris’s scary story.
“Your just mad you didn’t think of it yourself” he Bit back trying to look attractive for his date.
“I don’t think you can think” her joke making the group laugh.
A loud sound came from down the hall. A dreadful silence fell over the group. It was like you knew what was down there but none wanted to look.
“I’ll go see what it is” clarisse stood up grabbing her spear, You however stopped her. “Wait here with the group.. please, I’ll go see what it is”
“And what if it’s a monster”
“I’ll be fine larue I’m not a child” you chuckled walking down the hall. Clarisses eyes followed your body mainly admiring it in the bikini. “She’s going to get killed I swear” the stronger girl sat back down while muttering under her breath.
Silena rolled her eyes whistling to gain clarisses attention. “So when are you asking her out”
She just gave the girl a dirty look. “Never, we’re just friends”
“Friends don’t cuddle clarisse” she teased laughing as clarisse got ready to insult her, before she could speak however you came running down the hall.
“Everybody go!” You shouted, as they stood up you were tackled to the ground a hellhound pinning you to the ground before ripping you insides out, the formerly blue water now turning red
Clarisses scream was louder than anyone could of imagined. Even the hound stepped back in fear. Running at it with tears in her eyes she stabbed it with her spear. Throwing the hound against the wall clarisse continued to beat the dog.
In her fit of Rage the rest of the group stood silent not wanting to believe the scene of their friend bleeding out. Once the dog was dead clarisse panted with anger, her eyes filled to the brim with tears while watching it turn to dust. Turning around harshly she marched towards your lying form.
Dropping down beside you she picked you up, laying you in her lap. “You stupid stupid Hekate Girl, Why the hell didn’t you just let me go” she softly cried. Holding you close she muttered an ‘i love You’ against your skin.
“Love you to clarisse”
She pulled her head back in shock to see you teasingly smiling at her. Silena ran up to you the rest of the kids following suit, dropping down beside you she touched your stomach to see not even a scar— it was completely healed.
You could tell clarisse was confused, it was cute. “A spell, learned it a while back. It keeps monsters from killing me, with exceptions but I wont get into that” clarisse pushed you out of her arms
“Why the hell djd you tell me before!” She shouted with tears still falling.
“Didn’t think it was important” you laughed leaning into her you gave her a soft kiss you smiled. “Now about that I Love you”
She got up walking away embarrassed ignoring your playful shouting after her.

YN - you love me don’t lie

Hecate: Has anyone ever told you they loved you?
Demeter: Does family count?
Hecate: Yes.
Demeter: Only when they think it will make me feel better.
Hecate: ....can I hug you?
Demeter: Why?
Hecate: Cause I would like to give you affection
Demeter: Strange, but ok.
Hecate: *hugs her*
Demeter,* shakely*: This feels weird.
Hecate: I love you. You know that right?
Demeter: ....
Hecate,*pressing a kiss to her forehead*: If I have to I will tell you those three words every day until you know I mean it. I will show you love and affection until the day we fade away. I love you, Sunflower.

First, we have a crescent moon that is in a growing stage. In the center, there is a circle representing the full moon. Last but not least, the crescent denotes the diminishing moon.
Triple Moon is considered to be symbolic of all things divine feminine power – from intuition to creative energy, and wisdom. It indicates the three life stages of a woman.
The waning moon symbolizes the Maiden through innocence, youth, new life, starts, rebirth, excitement, witchcraft, and growth.
The full moon represents the Mother: fulfillment, fertility, ripeness, potency, understanding, caring, security, and authority.
The waxing moon symbolizes the Crone: serenity, maturity, knowledge, experience, knowledge, wisdom, fulfillment, death and rebirth. In its whole, the symbol is associated with the eternal cycle of birth, life, and rebirth.
Sometimes called the Triple Goddess symbol, the triple moon is frequently seen on the crowns or headpieces worn by the High Priestesses.
Each aspect within the Triple Goddess is associated with particular seasons and other natural phenomena, as well as human characteristics and elements of life on Earth. These associations can be used to call on the appropriate aspect of the Goddess during magical work, ritual worship, and prayer.
The Maiden is represented by the waxing moon and associated with the start of the growing cycle of late winter and springtime. The Wheel of the Year sabbats Imbolc, Ostara and Beltane are associated with the Maiden phase of the Triple Goddess. The Maiden represents beauty, fresh potential and new life. In human beings, she is associated with the qualities of innocence, youth, self-confidence, intelligence and independence, and with activities relating to exploration, discovery, self-expression, and creativity. Goddesses who represent the Maiden include the Greek goddesses Persephone and Artemis, the Celtic Rhiannon, and/or the Nordic Freya, among others.
The Mother phase of life is represented by the full moon- the fullest part of your life. In the Wheel of the Year it is associated with the harvests of Lughnasadh and Mabon. In the human realm, she is associated with nurturing, responsibility, adulthood and the fullness of life. As the giver of life, she is the aspect most associated with manifestation. Goddesses who represent the Mother include the Greek Demeter and Selene, the Roman Ceres, and the Celtic Danu and Badb.
The Crone phase of life is represented by the waning moon- when the cycle comes to an end and a new beginning starts. The Crone is full of wisdom and life experience. In the Wheel of the Year she is associated with Samhain and Yule, when the days shorten and the growing season officially ends. The Crone is the wise elder aspect of the Goddess, and governs aging and endings, death and rebirth, and past lives, as well as transformations, visions, prophecy, and guidance. Although feared as an archetype for millennia, she is the one who reminds us that death is part of the life cycle, just as the Moon's dark phase precedes the New Moon. The Crone is often represented by goddesses associated with death and the underworld, such as the Greek Hecate, the Russian Baba Yaga, and the Celtic Morrigan and Cailleach Bear.
The Triple Goddess is indeed a diverse and complex expression of the divine feminine. For those who worship her, she provides constant opportunities to learn and grow through connecting to her three aspects. Whether you recognize ancient goddesses as aspects of the Triple Goddess, or simply honor the Maiden, Mother, and Crone archetypes, you can make a conscious effort to align your worship with the cycles of the Moon for an even deeper, more rewarding spiritual connection.

This is not my original post it belongs to @caffeinatedflumadiddlebutpjo who deleted their account but it’s so good and needs to be preserved
I like that there is just... A noticeable gap in the gods' under standing of mortal children. Like, Zeus really accused a TWELVE-YEAR-OLD of stealing his master bolt and the only justification I have for this is "Well, Hermes stole Apollo's cattle right after birth so that tracks".
But now I have a theory that the gods don't rediv understand how mortal
children work and that's why they're so blase about sending them to do ridiculous nonsense?
Like...
Zeus: What do you mean 'first word'? Why would they only speak one word?
Artemis: Humans can only cry when they are born.
Zeus: Nonsense. When vou were born you didn't cry. You delivered your brother and then came to me to ask for a birthday present.
Artemis: Humans aren't the same though. They can't walk or talk for many months. When they do speak it is only in small, short words.
Zeus: …that's not true
Artemis: I'm afraid it is
Zeus, under his breath: What the fuck
Later on...
Zeus: Did you know human babies can't speak when thev're tirst born?
Poseidon: that's so sad. Are demigods like that?
Zeus: I have no idea.
Poseidon: Mavbe we should ask around more. Athena was saying something about brain development.
Zeus: Their... THEIR BRAINS AREN'T DEVELOPED?!?!
Poseidon: I guess
Zeus: THESE HUMANS ARE WALKING AROUND WITHOUT FULLY FORMED BRAINS?!
Poseidon: I mean, so are you and I don't complain.
The quest continues...
Hermes: So... you're telling me that human kids don't know how to fend themselves at all? They need to be taught? I mean, fighting, of course, but outside of that???
Poseidon: Yeah, I thought it was like fish
where you just naturally know what you’re supposed to do. But apparently they have no idea and need to be shown everything
Hermes: I... that's awful. Why?
Poseidon: I don't know.
Suddenly all the gods are very concerned...
Ares: You mean to tell me that my kids are probably traumatized from war??
Hermes: That's what the research shows. Human kids aren't supposed to handle that kind of stuff and demigods are more human than we anticipated.
Ares: But... War?
Hermes: Idk what to tell you, bud. I'm beginning to understand why they hate us tho.
Everyone is naturally panicking
Demeter: YOU SENT MONSTERS AFTER MY BABIES WHEN THEY HAD NO BRAINS AND COULDN'T EVEN READ?!?
Hecate: HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT DEMIGODS WEREN'T BORN KNOWING HOW TO READ!?!?!
Athena: Our children all have dyslexia.
Demeter: YOU LET YOUR DAUGHTERRUN AWAY WHEN SHE WAS SEVEN! SILENCE!
Athena:…And? She is very mature and had my protection. I'm not like the rest of you. rhave done my researcn on humans and led her accordingly.
Apollo: Think of it this way, Athena. She would have just started losing baby teeth when she left home.
Athena: What?
Apollo: According to my son, they shed teeth. Like, they fall out and get new, bigger ones when they re old enougn. Didn't you know that?
Hades: That's disgusting. Our children do that?
Athena: I... That's not true! Your son is a liar!
Apollo: I AM THE GOD OF TRUTH!
It's a whole thing on Olympus
Hephaestus: Wait, they NEED to eat?!?! It isn't just for fun???
Hermes: What about water???

Since you made a post about lore Olympus’ fashion, could you tell us what kind of fashion characters in rekindled usually wear?
For the most part, considering it's a modernized retelling just like LO, I try to focus on the character's personality first and then refine from there.
Currently where Kore is in her character arc, she's very cottage-core in her outfit choices, favoring light springtime colors that compliment her skin tone. She also often wears dresses and skirts both because she thinks they're pretty, and also because it gives her a lot more range of motion, she doesn't like being constricted or too revealing. Even when she wears dresses and skirts that are on the shorter side, she'll still usually be wearing leggings and/or shorts underneath. That said, her fashion choices will change and develop as her character does throughout the story, she has a few different phases that she goes through that start to go outside of her comfort zone, so keep an eye out for that ;)
On the flipside, Hades is often wearing pressed suits and has grown used to wearing the same wardrobe often as, like the rest of his life, he's fallen into a very standardized routine. That said, he also wears his Mortal Realm garb when he's doing his job addressing the mortals, as it's standard protocol to keep all modern amenities away from them (including expensive suits lol) That said, when we see him in more casual settings such as the Olive Branch restaurant, he and his brothers are usually wearing more modern Mediterranean outfits, including colorful button-ups and sandals (though Hades often still sticks to his darker color schemes as it's, again, what he's accustomed to). Like Kore, Hades will also be going through some fashion developments as the story goes on and as he learns to step outside of his own comfort zone. I've got some future suit ideas planned for when the story moves on, I wanna give him some more flair than his default settings from LO 😆 (trust me, that moment when Persephone teased him for wearing nothing but black suits is gonna come back into play eventually LOL)
Artemis and Hermes are both really athletic so their clothing often reflects that, they both like tracksuits and sportswear, though Artemis is seen a few times throughout the series so far wearing Mortal Realm garb because she's someone who's often working in the Mortal Realm.
Hecate is a lot of fun because not only is she a lot more androgynous, but I also get to come up with fun outfits that reflect the witch side of her.
Apollo is a very "slap it on and get on with the day" kinda guy (especially considering he works long shifts with lots of early mornings) so a lot of what he wears are hoodies, t-shirts, cargo shorts, sandals, etc. He doesn't need much to get by and considering he works with Helios, he never really needs to bundle up too much LMAO
Demeter is one of the only gods who's always drawn in Mortal Realm attire as that's where she mainly resides. This largely includes Mycenaean-style garb, such as the chiton and peplos.
I've found this particular site very helpful for providing both inspiration and context to specific outfits where Ancient Greek standards come into play. As for the modern outfits, it's really just about having fun meshing the characters' personalities in with modern fashion styles of Greek fashion. It makes for a lot of outfits that are made up of flowing fabrics with lots of color and movement accessibility.
Just wait until we get to Aphrodite and Ares though. Whooo I have plans for them LOL
