Lily rested her hand over hers. Y/n hated how her heart started to race from such a small action. She actually had a crush on the couple. But due to a recent interview of Oscar calling her just a friend, she thought that if she got closer to Logan then maybe she’s lose her feelings or possibly make them jealous.

Clearly, she hadn’t gotten over her feelings.

Oscar’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts. “What’re you doing talking to other guys?” His voice was suddenly low. His girlfriend hummed in agreement, moving to sit beside Y/n.

“Why do you care so much?”

“Because we care about you, a lot,” Lily responds and wraps her arms around the confused girl.

The McLaren driver clears his throat, copying his girlfriend's action by moving to sit on Y/n’s other side. “Seems like Lily and I have newfound feelings for you. And I must say, they’re not platonic.”

She furrowed up her eyebrows again and scrunched up her nose. She looked at Oscar like he had just grown another head. “What the fuck do you mean? Weren’t you the one who called me a ‘good friend’?”

“Yeah, and he was stupid for it.” The British girl says with a smile, resting her head against her shoulder. “But he’s right. We both like you and to be fair, seeing you with Logan made us jealous.”

“That was the point,” Y/n mumbled causing the couple to laugh. Both of their hands moved to grasp hers, each taking one hand. Her heart rate began to pick up again as she kept staring between the two.

“So, give us a chance?” Oscar asked with his signature shy smile.

“I waited so long to hear you say that,” Y/n said with a smile, letting out a giggle as she squeezed both hands. “But yes. Of course.”

Lily smiled widely as she reached over to tuck a strand of Y/n's hair behind her ear, “Osc and I made you wait too long, didn’t we, pretty girl?” She said, looking over at the Australian before focusing back on the girl between them.

I used to see Sephiroth and think “damn he’s the Marilyn Monroe of video games and anime,” but after delving into his backstory and seeing Crisis Core/Reunion and Ever Crisis I just feel sad.

I mean when you think about it he really had no one. He only knew Glenn, Matt, and Lucia for that one mission but he never forgot about them, despite all of them leaving him behind. Then Angeal and Genesis who- I’m sorry, I know this is also an unpopular opinion- also treated him like crap. To me it always seemed like Genesis didn’t really care about Sephiroth at all. We’ve never seen him being nice to him, even prior to degrading. During that one spar we saw of them three Genesis really seemed like he was going for the throat and like he was letting his rage and jealousy take over, and Angeal had to break them up. At first I used to think that at least Angeal was a decent friend to Sephiroth, but the more I think about it the more it seemed like he was on Genesis’ side because he was his childhood friend and simply acted as a peacekeeper between them three than anything else. Sephiroth didn’t hesitate to offer his blood/cells when Genesis needed it and Angeal even commented on how Sephiroth had lost weight when he sees him the last time, probably from stress and depression.

So not only did he never have friends who cared about him and who he always cared more for than they cared for him, he was also raised in a lab his entire childhood by a psycho who’s his biological father (he didn’t know about that part but it’s still horribly messed up.) And even with all of that he still grew up to be a good person- before all the trauma drove him crazy. He still wanted to genuinely help and save people, and he got attached so quickly. Even with every reason to be horrible he wasn’t, until the whole dam of emotions and mistreatment broke.

Sorry for the long post. I was just looking back at the Seph lore and started feeling really sad 😕

Sephiroth is a very tragic character, and he was failed by every adult in his life from the very beginning, first by his parents—one being an unethical twat and the other being his mother, someone who he would later come to really yearn for and had no idea she was part of the reason why his life was the way it was. He was Shinra's lap dog from birth to Nibelheim, and the only respite he had from it all were his friendships—and he was an extremely loyal friend to everyone. He was loyal even to SOLDIER despite the program being part of the problem.

It appears Glenn, Matt and Lucia were his first friends who really taught him what it was like to care for other people. The thing is: the FS trio were as much of Shinra's pawns as Sephiroth—albeit to a lesser extend because Seph was their golden boy. And so were Genesis and Angeal. They were victims of the Jenova Project too, and had every right to be angry, and Genesis' actions are more understandable (not excusable) once you take into account how the degradation likely preyed on his mental state. Genesis and Angeal are complex characters, but unfortunately we don't have as much narrative context and content for them as we have for Sephiroth, which ultimately makes Sephiroth easier to sympathize with despite what he goes on to become later. He's an incredibly tragic character who everyone rightfully adores, also because of who he was as character Pre-Nibelheim, before he understandably lost his mind. It's a damn shame so many people disregard the compilation, because there's so much of Seph's backstory to be explored that adds even more depth to his character.

I think Genesis and Angeal were good friends to Sephiroth, but you have to understand that they were both degrading while Sephiroth was (physically) fine. So of course they latched onto each other and left Sephiroth behind, especially if they thought Sephiroth wouldn't understand their desertion and wouldn't abandon Shinra to come with them. I don't think they were bad friends, but they—Genesis especially—underestimated how good of a friend he was to them. I hope chapter 2 of FS can show Sephiroth and Angeal's (fingers crossed Genesis too) friendship before the crisis ever started. Only then will we know what their dynamic was like.

To me Rhaenrya kinda came of as selfish with her comeback to Alicents speech.

Like Alicents speech is pretty much her saying how much she's sacrificed and been hurting all these years, and Rhaenryas response is essentially 'yeah, I already knew that'.

Like for all that people say Rhaenrya is feminist, she saw and knew that Alicent was miserable all these years, being stuck in an unhappy marriage and like never did anything about it, not even really comfort her or try and change Alicents way of thinking. Heck she never even got mad at her dad for how shit he treated alicent.

She kinda just comes across as a woman who doesn't necessarily care about broader justice for all women, but more thinks the rules shouldn't apply to her in general. In the very least she was a shitty friend. 😕

alicent really let loose when she charged with the knife, and what she said was better than i could have hoped for. she really got to vent, and it was delicious. i’m gonna put the whole quote in bc it’s so important to alicent’s character progression, and rheanyra’s response says so much more:

I? What have I done but what was expected of me? Forever upholding the kingdom, the family, the law. While you flout all to do as you please. … Where is duty? Where is sacrifice? It's trampled under your pretty foot again. … And now you take my son's eye, and to even that, you feel entitled.

when alicent says this, she’s all exhaustion and viciousness. this is the last straw; for all the awkwardness that comes with her relationships with her children, she loves them and one has been maimed. and nobody cares! no one is standing in that room saying, “hey, maybe we shouldn’t just sweep under the rug that aemond lost an eye? maybe we should seek some recompense?” but no, it’s like she’s screaming into a black hole; no one, not even the boy’s father, is taking this as devastatingly as she is. the focus is, instead, on the legitimacy of rhaenyra’s children. yes, this is an important issue, one that could hypothetically get the boys and rhaenyra killed if it’s determined that she’s attempted to put bastards on the throne. however, there is room for both issues in this situation, but viserys and rhaenyra push that rhaenyra’s is valid and alicent’s is not. and the rest follow suit.

now back to alicent’s speech itself. she’s finally speaking her whole mind, she’s letting the court see her as she is. and what is she? a victim of a system that pawns off young girls to the highest bidder, regardless of their own happiness. but how do they see her? as mad. and rhaenyra sees her as unjustly righteous, a performer. but this comeback actually seems to wound alicent; you can see it in olivia cooke’s performance as the knife begins to shake, her brow creases, her lips wobble. she looks like, “what? no. i wanted none of this, but it was my lot. and it’s hurt me all my life, can’t you see that?” she has been forced to give up everything, every piece of her, while rhaenyra has not only been able to remain herself, but feels entitled to do so in a world of women who cannot.

it seems to me that as long as it didn’t directly effect her, rhaenyra could turn a blind eye to what alicent was going through. that’s rhaenyra’s version of reform; if it effects her, it should be changed (for her), and the rest of the realm can fend for themselves. is this the mindset a queen should have?

Harley was unusually cheery as she sat in the diner with Dinah and Helena. She was normally quite peppy and cheerful on a regular day, but this time she was almost bouncing in her seat.

“Harley, what did you invite us here for?” Dinah asked while Helena looked out the window.

“I wanted to introduce you all to someone important,” Harley said excitedly.

“Important?” Helena asked, turning her attention back to the table. “How ‘important’ are we talking?”

“Well, the most important person to me,” Harley said, her pale skin flushing as she turned her eyes down to the table.

Dinah and Helena exchanged a knowing glance just as the bell over the diner door rang.

“Hey, you can’t bring that in here!” one of the waitresses yelled as a hyena on a leash bounded through the room, followed by a girl trying to hold it back.

“She’s here!” Harley squealed in delight and leapt to her feet. The hyena made a beeline for her, pulling the girl along with it and knocking a few diners into the tables.

“He had to come in as soon as he knew his mommy was here,” the girl said breathlessly.

“Because he’s a good boy!” Harley said as she ruffled the hyena’s furry head. “Aren’t you, Brucie?”

Bruce licked Harley’s face and tried to jump onto her but was held back by his leash.

“Um, are you going to introduce us, Harley?” Dinah said from their table.

“Oh! Yeah, I was,” Harley said as she linked arms with the girl and led her and Bruce over to sit down. “This is Dinah and Helena, Renee couldn’t be here because of cop shit. Ladies, this is Y/N, my amazing, beautiful, super hot girlfriend.”

Y/N waved awkwardly, or as much as she could with Harley clinging onto her.

“Nice to meet you,” she said shyly.

Dinah knew that Harley had started seeing someone, but she didn’t expect them to be like Y/N. Harley was so lively and colourful while Y/N seemed to be more subdued and quiet. Opposites attract, she figured.

“So, Y/N,” Dinah started. “How did you and Harley meet?”

Y/N opened her mouth to speak, but Harley jumped in for her immediately.

“Oh my god it’s so cute, we met at the library!” Harley said, pronouncing it as ‘lie-berry’.

“Library, sweetie,” Y/N corrected. “It’s where I work. I thought she was coming in to borrow movies but it turned out it was to talk to me.”

“Aw, that's sweet,” Dinah said as she and Helena watched Harley rest her head on Y/N’s shoulder.

“Guys, she’s so smart, she knows so much about so many things!”

“Babe, you have a PhD,” Y/N said. 

“Oh that old thing doesn’t matter,” Harley said with a handwave. She must really like this girl if she’s willing to say that, Helena thought, knowing how proud Harley was of her qualifications.

After a lunch that mostly consisted of Harley gushing about Y/N through mouthfuls of food, the four ladies went outside to say their goodbyes for the day.

Or at least, that’s what Dinah and Helena were about to do when they turned around to Harley lip-locked with Y/N as she tried to keep Bruce by her side. The two of them seemed to be oblivious to the fact that they were out on the street and were contained in their own little bubble of love. Helena cleared her throat to get their attention but was ignored.

“Harley?” Dinah piped up.

“What?” Harley said, her lips loudly smacking against Y/N’s as she broke away. Her mouth was smeared with red lipstick but she clearly didn’t care about her makeup at the moment.

“We’re gonna head off,” Dinah said. 

“It looks like the two of you could do with some privacy,” Helena added.

“Oh, we’re fine,” Harley said as she nuzzled her cheek against Y/N’s.

Y/N, however, looked like she was about to hide, obviously not used to Harley’s public displays of affection.

“It was nice meeting you two,” she said to Dinah and Helena and smiled warmly. “Hopefully Reneé can meet with us next time.”

They all said goodbye and went their separate ways, Harley and Y/N hanging back a little longer before heading off home themselves.

“Thank you for meeting my friends, baby,” Harley said as she tightly hugged Y/N.

“No problem, I had fun,” she said as she returned the hug and kissed her on the cheek.

Harley took her chance to capture Y/N’s lips again, tasting leftover maple syrup on her mouth and stroking her head gently.

“I hope they end up loving you as much as I do,” she said, her lips not moving away from hers, desperate to continue kissing her.

“We’ll see,” Y/N said. “But can we go home now? People are starting to stare.”

“Let ‘em stare!” Harley said. “I want people to know that I swept the hottest girl in town off her feet.”

Bruce whined from next to them and nudged Y/N’s leg.

“I don’t think I’m the only one who wants to go home here.”

“Alright, fine, we’ll go. But not because this big baby said so.”
