~ Headcannons for TWST characters playing Minecraft

This is a continuation to the answer to the last request!

One day, Jade was offered to play Minecraft....:

1) "A game about blocks...? Haha, it's a really cute idea, but I don't think I can find the time for it."

“There are huge mushrooms the size of trees, and You can live on a mushroom island and collect mushroom soup from mushroom cows...”

2) He downloaded the game that evening.

3) Before the game, briefly studied it and the topic of minecraft mushrooms, and when He went to the server, the first thing He did was go look for mushroom biomes.

Azul tried to persuade Him to settle in His village (Not in any case for to exploit the eel in a cubic version of the Mostro Lounge, or at least make a workbench to begin with), But Jade simply left.

leech wandered around the server, and soon found the nearest mushroom biome, adjacent to the village of Riddle (Poor Riddle), and quickly occupied it, starting to build a base right under the huge red mushroom.

4) When he learned that mushroom blocks cannot be obtained by hand or with ordinary tools, His reaction was literally: "....😊.....💀"

5) Fortunately, the kind-hearted Riddle gave Him a pickaxe enchanted with silk touch, in exchange for the fact that Jade would not allow her beloved brother to wander around Their and Riddle’s territories.

6) Now, He can get more huge mushrooms to build a GIANT mushroom and live in Him!

7) As mentioned above, His home is a giant red mushroom, proudly towering above the other mushrooms and the neighboring birch grove. The inside of his hat may not be so spacious, but over the course of the game, Jade will significantly expand it so that only the most necessary things can fit: a turquoise bed, chests, a workbench, stoves, decorative pots with mushrooms, etc. You can climb the stairs, and below, around the mushroom king, the Leech will build a mushroom garden (there are never too many mushrooms) with a small lake into which he will place a couple of fish from a bucket.

8) It’s even a pity that no one wants to come to visit Him.... One day, when Yuu came to visit the eel, He fed Them a couple of bowls of mushroom stew and gave Them a couple of dozen more bowls with Him, because His chests were already bursting with stews.

9) It seems that in this game, Jade is not interested in anything other than His mushroom kingdom, but sometimes, He gets out to other players to exchange, trade mushroom stew (No one buys it) or just out of curiosity. Once, an eel even walked along the seabed and found an underwater temple, but soon, He got bored with the ocean and He climbed out to the shore again, looking for mushrooms. He also often walks in the mountains, but believes that real mountains are much more interesting.

10) In general, Jade is a neutral player, but this does not mean that it is worth angering him or destroying his mushroom house... No, He certainly will not grief in response, or start a sword fight with an idiot in the game...

...He would just find and visit Him in reality....

11) The main goal for Jade is not even to kill the dragon, but to find a mushroom island on which He will build a second base and breed mooshroom...And when He, after driving a boat across the ocean for hours, finally finds muddy water and an island of the same color with mushrooms and creepy-looking cows, His smile for a split minute becomes truly sincere.

Expect that you will not get Him out of there for the next few days.

12) He built a new base, similar to the first one, and squandered all the tags on mooshrooms, naming Them all after mushrooms known to Him.

13) His favorite is Boletus. One day, She was struck by lightning, which turned the red cow brown and this made Her stand out from the crowd. Boletus lives right above, in the cap of a giant mushroom, along with Jade (Don't ask how He got Her there).

14) In a sudden change of mood, Floyd once shorn more than half of Jade's cows, making them ordinary, and almost killed a Boletus. In response to this, Jade simply left the game.... And then Floyd left the game...

And then, Floyd, for some reason unknown to anyone, did not enter the game for two weeks....

15) When the eel has completely conquered the mushrooms of the upper world, it’s time to conquer the fungi of the lower world!

Jade quickly found the crimson and warped forests and killed a decent number of the local inhabitants, so that no one would interfere with Him collecting precious fungi and their huge versions... Although, of course, He did not really understand why the Large distorted and crimson fungi were more like trees, but on the other hand, He will be able to update the interior (Jade will decorate His bases mainly with turquoise boards and decorations of warped mushrooms).

16) Oh, those long-legged ugly guys flopping around in the lava also like mushrooms? Great, so Jade will have new pets....

Jade will make a separate, third base in Nether, after He tried to drag several striders to his mushroom island, but They all died due to the rain... But in His new one, more spacious and richly decorated with various hellish vines, mushrooms and the items house will make lava pool for His new friends, whom Jade periodically feeds and breeds.

17) Jade made his own flags with mushrooms on them and hung them wherever possible.

18) Didn’t go to fight the dragon because there were no mushrooms in the End, which means there was nothing interesting.

19) Most likely, He will get bored with the game in a month or two, and each time He will go there less and less, until he finally leave, leaving His beloved mushroom cows and striders to wait for His master for eternity...

20) ...Unless Yuu accidentally mentions next to Him the existence of various mods and add-ons, and the eel goes to delicately request (This looks more like a polite threat than a request) Idia for to install a couple of mods on a dozen new mushrooms and related with them biomes, mobs and even decorative items and food...

[Floyd]

Despite the threat of being strangled, the Yuu still approached Floyd to call Him to Minecraft:

1) "Ahhh...? Shrimpy wants to play with blocks? Hehehe, this game looks stupid... You're lucky that I'm bored, otherwise I would have squeezed you long ago...~ Although... Come here, little shrimp! Play with ME, not with these stupid blocks!

(Insert aggressively tender Floyd sounds here)

2) After a session of tight hugs, after which all of Yuu’s bones began to crack, Floyd finally downloaded the game and, logging into the server, brought with him fear and horror to all the players in the area (Especially Riddle).

3) Definitely homeless. Floyd is not interested in construction and mostly hangs around, sometimes intimidating other players.

Of course, Azul invited Him to settle in His village, still naively wanting to exploit another eel in the second Mostro, but after Floyd started a fight there and blew up the wall of the restaurant (I beg you, don’t ask where this damned eel dug up dynamite at the very beginning of the game ), Azul kicked out politely sent Floyd outside to play.

4) Floyd is an unstable player. At first He is quite peaceful and calm, wanders aimlessly from side to side, watching the others and sometimes scaring other players, and after a couple of minutes, he brutally beats mobs or players, causes brawls and joins griefer raids. Floyd is the second villain of the server after Leona and the players are really afraid of him and even a couple of times, Idia had to kick him out of the server, but Floyd always came back using His brother or Azul as a ticket to enter.

5) If Jade is a tactical and careful player who uses tactics, evasion and shields during the battle, then Floyd is a tank who crushes everything in His path, not leaving alive a single monster or innocent animal he sees... And sometimes players.

6) Once, He beat Idia, armed to the teeth and dressed in netherite armor, with raw salmon to death.

7) Constantly forgets that he cannot breathe and swim quickly underwater, and is sincerely indignant when he dies at the bottom due to lack of oxygen.

8) Periodically, Floyd spends the night either with other players (Sometimes without their permission), or in the open air.

9) His favorite pastime is parkour and climbing everything possible. Sometimes Floyd jumps on the buildings of other players, original buildings in Minecraft, or a couple of times he even builds a “challenge path” for himself so as not to get bored. Sometimes Jade and Yuu help Him with construction.

10) Ortho will teach Him how to create his own worlds and install mods and parkour maps, which, surprisingly, will keep the eel busy for a long time.

11) He is absolutely invincible in joint parkour competitions held on the server and even beat Idia and Lilia in a surprisingly short time, for which he received a well-enchanted set of netherite armor... Which He almost never uses.

12) He spends a lot of time at the bottom and has already killed all the drowned people and even took a couple of tridents from them, which, however, he hardly uses and hits his enemies with the first thing that comes to hand.

13) He openly hates mushroom biomes, and only went to visit his brother a couple of times, and only because other players didn’t let him spend the night, and he didn’t want to sleep outside... And also because, there’s a little goldfish cute village nearby.

14) Of all the players, he most often pesters Riddle, sometimes starting playful fuss with Him, which usually ends in a fight or destruction of His village.

15) He also likes to mischief and mix things up in Riddle’s chests, interfere with Jamil in His kitchen on the server, distract Azul or mess with Jade... Yuu, He also often annoys, preventing Them from doing what they love and begging for attention.

16) He constantly dies and gets very angry about it.

17) Single-handedly killed the wither... With the same raw salmon...

18) Enters the server with volatile interest. Sometimes, the game suddenly becomes boring for him and Floyd doesn't log in for a few days, and then suddenly returns to make a new mess.

19) Floyd was among those players who went to kill the dragon (Ortho persuaded Him to put on armor and take with Him at least something other than raw salmon)...

And He took the raw cod.

And in The End, He was mainly busy gnawing the endermen running after other players and the dragon and sometimes switching to the dragon, continuing the aggressive beating of everyone possible... After the endermen and the dragon, He would switch to the players.

20) After defeating the dragon, Floyd played Minecraft for some time until He finally got tired of it and forgot about the server.

Perhaps He will still occasionally enter the game for the sake of parkour, but parkour in the game will never compare to the flight of a free eel on the walls and roofs of a college, under the loud cursing of teachers and the director, in reality.

I was asked to make headcanons about freshmen. I'll deal with it a little later~

Note: this contains some mild Call of the Netherdeep spoilers and is tagged for that; please be aware if you are in a Netherdeep game.

I alluded to this here in my tags, and many thanks to @captainofthetidesbreath and @essektheylyss for some further refinement of the idea, but: the Aeorian stasis bubbles remind me very much of the temple to the Arch Heart in Cael Morrow. It's surrounded by a dome that, despite the city being largely underwater, keeps it dry. The dome is immune to all damage and cannot be dispelled by any spells. The key to entering? A faithful worshiper of the Arch Heart can pass through and take their allies with them.

Similarly, the stasis bubbles of Aeor seem protected from outside elements, are immune to all damage, and cannot be dispelled by any spells. They seem very last minute - people fleeing and preparing - and as if they captured people where they stood at the time, without any real planning and organization. From what we've seen from the perspective of the Mighty Nein and Bells Hells, we just know they were created in flashes of light. We also know there were many, many of these bubbles - a huge working of magic.

What if these aren't, as I'm sure many of us have assumed (myself included) the work of Aeorian wizards? What if this was divine in nature - either from the figures we're about to see in Downfall, or from one of the gods themselves, working directly? I could see that being something the mages excavating Aeor would largely miss (indeed, as I mentioned earlier today Ludinus seems to have flat out ignored them, and they don't appear to have been Essek's focus), and perhaps the exact mechanism is a little bit more complicated than just a faithful follower being permitted entry given that there's people in the bubbles, so it's not something a cleric would likely stumble upon by accident.

I also thought of the Empyrean, child of the former deity of death prior to the Raven Queen, whom Vox Machina encountered in Pandemonium while searching for Grog's soul. The idea was that he'd been put there temporarily, but the Raven Queen ascended, and the Empyrean was forgotten. Aeor's destruction took place at latest around the midpoint of the Calamity, and likely still relatively early on. It's entirely possible someone intended to go back for those people in the stasis bubbles, and never had a chance to, and the gods going behind the Divine Gate (and the limitations this imposed) means they couldn't, and their general attitude of reduced interventionism means they would not push their followers to do so.

a/n: this is kinda shitty and not at all proofread so i’m sorry but i love the idea of this js wish i wrote it better.

“oh come on y/n stop being such a baby” Jj teased. there was a bad storm coming but he was still trying to convince me to go surfing with him. “i love you Jayj but we’re gonna die if we surf right now, this is meant to be a really bad storm, after the storms cleared up i’ll surf with you, yeah?” i tried reasoning. “oh come on pleaseeee” he begged. “fine if it’ll shut you up” i mumbled but i couldn’t stop myself from slightly smiling as i saw how happy he got.

once we got out to the water i had a bad feeling. “J the waves are huge” i pointed out, hoping he’d change his mind. “it’ll be fine love, calm down” he responded as he kissed my temple and put his arm around me. “come on let’s go catch this wave it looks like it’ll be a good one”.

after a while of surfing you were starting to enjoy yourself as the worry faded, but then just as you were trying to catch a wave, it was so bad it pushed you right over and you fell off your surfboard. “Y/N” i heard Jjs muffled voice shout. i started to panic. i was too scared to actually swim properly so i was flailing around and could get back to the surface. just as i got back up another wave came and knocked me over again. i hit my face on my surfboard really hard then fell underwater again. Jayj swam towards me and pulled me back up for air. “shit angel are you okay?” he said while wiping the blood away from my nose, caused by hitting it just before. i was shaking, crying and i couldn’t get the words out so i just shook my head. J held me tight and grabbed our boards and quickly headed back home while the waves were calm for a moment.

when we got back he sat me on the counter in the bathroom and started cleaning me up. “shh it’s okay, you’re gonna be okay” he said trying to comfort me, but he sounded like his voice cracked in the middle of it, it sounded like he was, crying? by now i had started to calm down and had regulated my breathing. “i know my face just hurts a bit, are you okay though? you sound like you’re about to cry” i sniffled. he’s been avoiding eye contact the whole time and now is avoiding my question. “Jay?” i question and put my hand on his chin to lift his face up. i see a stray tear fall. “what’s wrong baby?” i ask calmly. he takes a deep breath before answering “this is all my fault” he mumbles so quietly it’s barely audible. “what?” i gasp, completely dumbfounded that he would even think for a second that any of this is his fault, how could it be? “this is all my fault y/n! i forced you into coming surfing with me even though there was a storm and now you’ve hurt your pretty little face” he slightly raised his voice, sounding panicked, as he gently runs his hand over my, now bruised, cheekbone. “this isn’t your fault Jayj i promise, i know you’d never intentionally let me get hurt, it’s okay.” i said, hoping it would make him feel better about the situation. “now let’s go just relax and watch a movie for a bit love”

It took her a good moment to notice that the person who basically saved her was one of Rowoons friends

" Look we'll talk about this later let's just get out of here before we get sick "

He sighed and started swimming towards the dry part with her on his back

" I'm sorry you had to save someone like me "

" Let's not do this now , I just want you to go home safely with me so we can talk "

He shook his head trying to get the water out his ears before he took her hand and walked up towards the place he dropped his bag when he jumped in

" I'm just glad you're safe "

The boy sighed out trying to calm down since he was still under shock

" I don't want to go home "

" Don't worry I'm not taking you there "

She stood there shivering as she looked at her bare feet while he fished into his gym bag For his towel

" Did you eat anything? "

Dawon dried her hair as she just stood there not responding

" It's ok if you don't want to talk , let's just call a taxi to our dorm since you don't want to go home and I won't force you "

He pulled out his phone called a taxi

" Yes we are near the Han river, yeah exactly there thank you "

She looked at him with tears extremely ashamed and feeling pathetic since she couldn't even succeed in this one thing

" Why did you jump in ? It would've been better if I was gone "

Dawon looked at her as he closed his eyes sighing before hugging her

" I'd never let someone die before my eyes, even if I didn't know you and I'm so glad I did because you're so young and you have so much to achieve, and Rowoon would be so devastated if I hadn't saved you and I'm sure other people as well would be broken "

“ I can’t do this anymore , I’m a failure I can’t even defend myself anymore ”

The girl cried on his wet shirt ,it was a lot of weight on her shoulders and how could she forget about that one person who cared about her the most , who was willing to love her like nobody else ever loved her

" I'm so sorry, I don't know why I did this in the first place I'm so ungrateful "

" Y/n please , it must have been hard if it drove you to do this "

He grabbed her face and wiped her tears away with his thumb before guiding her towards the taxi that just arrived

" These are new boxers that I just bought recently you can wear them "

She took them and went to change after taking a hot  shower , but most of the time found herself shedding tears or starring at herself at the mirror the boys had in their bathroom

Were did she fail ? , was it really a blessing to still be breathing after her selfish act ?

After drying herself and blow drying her hair she stepped out of the bathroom and ran into one of the boys that was waiting so they could go to the toilet

" Oh I didn't know you were here "

" I myself didn't expect it either but it's good to see you again Jaeyoon "

He smiled and rubbed her head before dismissing himself to go to the toilet

" Hey you finished? "

Y/n nodded and looked around before fiddling with her fingers nervously

" Can you tell me were Rowoon's room is ? "

" He's probably asleep but go ahead it's the second door down the hall "

He smiled and said good night leaving her to herself in the semi dark hallway

Walking towards her best friends room she carefully opened the door and went inside , the room smelled so good it made her feel like home but yet so distant from it

She carefully went unter the covers but held her distance, it's like she felt it kinda being inappropriate being so close to him even thought they had watched films together in her room as he cuddled her

The moon made his face look so perfect and adorable as he slept soundless

How could someone as handsome like him like her let alone love her more than the best friend stage ? It was still a mystery to her

He asked without opening his eyes

" No it's not Y/n "

She changed her voice on purpose stiffening her laugh with tears

" Don't lie to me , it's smells like you "

He pulled the girl closer to him opening his eyes yawning

"Do I smell that good to be recognized ? "

" You always smell good and even from miles away I could tell that it's you "

She smiled softly letting him hold her , her worries long forgotten

“ I’m not even gonna ask you why you’re in my room this late at night , I’m just glad you’re alright and by my presence again ”

He smiled and softly yawned once again

“ Rowoon? ”

The boy hummed and kept yawning

“ Do you still love me ? ”

Rowoon opened his eyes meeting her glossy ones that stared back at him

“I do love you , but why are you asking me this ? Is everything alright? ”

“ How can you love someone as broken and insecure as me ? ”

She looked at him with lips in between her teeth due to her nerves playing with her

“ Because you deserve more , and you stole my heart with how sweet and caring not to forget how beautiful you are ”

The boy took her by the waist and smiled softly kissing her forehead

“These fools don’t know what they are missing out by not appreciating you enough and I just want a chance to show you how much you can be happy and appreciated ”

FSR rambles 23

Oh boy. We're here!

This page was basically EXCLUSIVLY made to be a cover art page. XDDD

It was really fun figuring out the environment and capturing the vibe of the OOT Water Temple boss fight room with Dark Link.

This is a direct inspiration of that.

I'm STILL salty we NEVER got a proper manga adaptation of that fight.

I could go on a huge rant about how Dark Link's utilization was AWFUL in OOT's manga...like AWFUL especially knowing what it could have been with my own exploration into Dark Link's character (I say with the huge note that Dark Link is very OC coded in FSR...)

The Dark Link Fight is an isolating PERSONAL fight and the OOT manga turned it into a fucking display for the entire Kakariko village for them to kiss Link's ass for and it didn't feel properly introspective or deep or...anything. Relegating Dark to just a random demon that wore Link's face to fuck with him and not a reflection of his own darkness and insecurities, his flaws. His sins.

The reveal for Dark Link is PERFECT in the OG game, you lacking a reflection as soon as you pass the tree with a split branches. He's literally your reflected mirror image.

The fact we were robbed of seeing just how personal and frightening and introspective that could have been is just mnghghghg.

Wasted potential is the phrase that comes to mind with that adaptation of Dark Link.

There's another level of him being in the water temple because water shows your reflection. (Also...Deadhand's creepy ass getting completely cut from that manga...WHY. We could have had it all. 😭)

And it makes me so sad because Shadow is such a GOOD adaptation of an evil Link from the same artists. 😭 Giving Shadow SO MUCH that wasn't there in the og game.

Like...agh.

Dark in Twilight princess is a huge upgrade and was a huge inspiration to FSR Dark Link's character of reflection (Seriously read his scenes in TP, you will see FSR Dark Link's inspiration X'DDD)

Anyway...

I really like Legend of Zelda... And I've always loved Dark Link as a character if you couldn't tell from me utilizing him a LOT in FSR given the chance.

Anyway smth stupid about this page: hur de duur Dark is looking up Blue's skirt.

I remember just layering and layering effects onto this page. The fog and Dark's rippling visage in the water are some of my favorites.

Blue's in his cozy lil headspace.

Far away from people trying to keep him in what is to him: A torturous experience.

Blue made it VERY CLEAR he hates being Link and it's stressful and suffocating for him.

Just the thought of being Link again is deeply anxiety inducing for him. So he's retreated into a place of complete isolation.

He just wants to be alone right now.

Dark's boss room felt like a nice way to show that. ^w^

Blue in a lot of ways feels utterly LIED TO.

Splitting up with the sword was a promise they were going to be OKAY and safe. Because being Link is a DEATH SENTANCE to him.

So the prospect of going back is terrifying.

Like, the idea he's been walking underwater for WHO KNOWS HOW LONG just to follow Blue is very creepy.

Like, he doesn't seem the need to breathe. (He doesn't)

The lonely dirt or sand hilltop was an oasis from people but Dark pursued anyway. Dark got to him across this vacuous empty space of nothing but water.

Dark takes a moment to just stare at Blue and the situation.

And approaches slowly and carefully at first, before declaring himself and his intentions.

He gets a certain type of way when he gets no response.

Blue continues not to notice him. Green had a better handle on his own head and managed to decipher someone was up to something pretty quickly but Blue is shuts him out entirely.

He gets upset enough to clench his fist in anger but doesn't swing or do anything particularly violent yet. He just gives up and sits alongside Blue muttering he didn't really EXPECT Blue to respond but just wanted him too.

Dark Link is very used to disappointment at this point in the story. He's also the kind of person to only give as much effort as required of him.

Lifting his head back up he's in a blizzard...HUH.

He comes across a door and...just breaks the lock.

"That's not how the game is played-"

Instead of trying to get a key he just breaks it. X'D

Dark really doesn't play around.

Looking around, he gets attacked by...a blonde Blue-

Apparently this phantom is a "Faker" and "not the real blue" according to Dark.

...Care to elaborate on what that thing IS Dark- Nope okay...

If you want my stupid thoughts: It's a representation of Blue pushing people away and wanting privacy rn.

Since literally locking himself up didn't work he's lashing out.

When defeated this thing just turns into a puff of smoke that's the same shades as Dark's hair when he mimics Blue.

Dark Link doing his usual thing, which is tearing people down.

I refer to this as "The bisexual lighting Dark Link panel" because that's what it ended up being and it's hilarious.

The blue bleeding into red with Dark's mania and typical color scheme taking over the cold freezing blue with red hot anger and annoyance on Dark's end.

This is also a detail so small I don't think anyone would care or notice otherwise: Dark Link is drawn with Blue's nose. X'D

Him mimicking people's facial features doesn't pop up too often but originally I did want him to do it more often.

Dark has to drag himself out of his literal purpose and uhh, safe to say he's getting pissed off.

When Dark Link gets particularly angry across the "Darkblue" interaction he copes by clenching his fist in anger to try and dispel it. This dude would love stress balls X'D

Trying to keep a cheery attitude about something he WAS excited about, while faced with a task that's just infuriating him is getting to him.

he's not gloomy for long because he finds Blue hiding from him in a giant ice hide away.

Stupid art detail: I just like when Dark has gloves that are tinted red. It's cute.

Dark acknowledges he could brute force his way into the ice block if he wanted too but is just too lazy. XD

Dark just spilling his own opinions everywhere when given a captive audience.

he's just a lil guy with his heart on his sleeve, just wants to share his opinions on stuff like what color is he prefers and trying to relate to the other party.

He liked the blue fire he saw in SOMEONE's memories (Haha BOTW reference hello)

Blue's preference for green also being a reference to him trying to steal Green's clothing in the original FS. Though...there's also the question to be had if the colors would actually HAVE different likes and dislikes when it comes to things such as favorite colors or food...? Personality wise they're very different but would that change something like that?

Anyway, Blue finally starts to realize SOMEONE is talking to him.

LOL So this is the first time Dark Link's gender has been called into question by someone.

...Funny thing about that: Dark Link doesn't really understand gender. X'D

I head cannon him with an...interesting voice. Most of the time I see him sounding like Blue diamond from Steven universe.

When he's screaming though, Invader Zim. X'D (Think Zim screaming "YOU'RE LYING!!!!" and you got what I think he sounds like when he screams)

Sometimes when he's broody Legoshi from Beastars.

Basically: if someone voiced him, they'd either have to have insane range or he'd have to be voiced by multiple people.

Anyway back to Dark's gender.

he mimics people.

He's only been around MEN outside of Zelda (And her gender is less than straight in FSR lmfao, think back to when Link referred to her with they/them)

So...He's only mimicking men for the most part.

Link didn't have a maternal figure in his life, so Dark's understanding of women is super limited.

He also just uses his own name as a pronoun.

Dark Link's third person speak is very particularly written...I'm very particular about it.

Example of how I'd write a sentence and what I'd avoid if it makes sense:

Correct O "Dark Link would NEVER do that!? Do you think I'm stupid!?"

Incorrect X "Dark Link would NEVER do that!? Do you think he's stupid!?"

...I hate the idea Dark would refer to himself in complete third person. It would sound childish vs him just using his own name as a pronoun like "I/me/Myself"

Cause...if you've noticed only OTHER characters refer to Dark link with gendered pronouns. Dark Link only refers to himself as "I/Me/Dark Link"

Usually Dark Link refers to himself when he's distancing himself from his actions or just when I think it'd be funny/fitting.

So yeah, the curse doesn't really have a gender and everyone so far has just assumed he's a dude. XD Dark Link himself doesn't correct anyone because...why would he?

I don't think Dark would understand that he/she/they aren't universal pronouns for every person. XD

If you're wondering for future/current readers: This is also why he doesn't care Vio calls him an "it" or a "Thing".

Those are just descriptors of what he is.

he knows everyone calls Zelda a "She" and has called Zelda as such but I doubt he'd know why or when to use it otherwise. he'd just follow everyone else's lead.

ANYWAY.

YEAH DARK LINK FUCKS WITH GENDER.

So like...I've mentioned it before SOMEWHERE but in FS they just...straight up have telepathy??? Like Vio uses it to get Blue and Red to come to the Shadow temple AND Green (Imo) is woken up by Vio calling out to him when he wakes up from the massage.

So like...it's just cannon they can use telepathy with each other so here's blue referencing he'd know what the others sound like X'D

Cause of his curiosity the ice melts because...well he wants to know who's talking to him.

Dark's really happy about being let in. Announcing "Found you!" like he won a game of hide and seek.

Blue continues to push the fact he wants to be alone right now but Dark's too busy being weird.

Dark...buddy...Don't touch people's face like that.

Just seeing if Blue's lips are kissable I guess. XDDD

Blue's not fully in the headspace mindset yet so he's having a hard time visualizing Dark Link atm.

But he KNOWS that voice.

So Dark tries to appeal to Blue's emotions to get him to go back home...instead of just tearing him down.

Nice use of your powers buddy.

We get a nice POV shot of the blurred mess Blue sees of Dark's silhouette.

Dark's words in the first panel really do seem like sympathy...but it's hard to tell with him.

Blue gets frustrated enough he drags himself into the headspace to confront this mystery guy.

We're back in the boss room.

You know what that means.

Blue fully recognizing and talking to Dark surprises Dark since he was SHOCKED Green fully noticed him.

Though this time...he seems...not happy.

Ngl, Dark's pissed off face sends me.

He's SO PISSED that Blue's pulling this crap on him.

I think Blue's phrasing specifically is what did it for Dark to snap.

"WHEN ARE WE GOING TO GET A DAMN BREAK!?" - Blue shouted...at the disgruntled worker who can't take a break.

Dark even points out as much he could echo the sentiment.

Dark's just full of anger at this point at how this "Mission" has gone and has divulged into childish as hell insults.

Dark saying Blue's face is "hideous" and Blue immediately making an unattractive face is one of those things I just find so stupidly funny. (Dark ALSO making an unattractive face while saying it lmfao)

Just hits the funny bone just right. It's so stupid.

Dark Link proceeds to throw a piss baby tantrum.

ya know what pal, if I had to deal with BLUE I'd be at my limit too. XDDD

He's really just reflecting and taking out the rage that's been building and only getting worse since he's around Blue.

...Okay so I don't repeat myself, this entire fight is hilarious to me.

The eyebrow comment is so stupidly childish and it's funny DARK is the first one to point out Blue's MASSIVE EYEBROWS.

Dark is pissed off enough to actually fight somewhat competently to knock Blue onto his ass.

Dark's main method of attack is disarming his enemy. He knocked Shadow on his ass too and kept Vaati pinned when they fought after cutting his tentacles.

Dark's just loves breaking down your defences. ;)

HAND TRAUMA WARNING!!!

Blue accurately accesses Dark is shorter than him. (Blue's the tallest of the four colors in FSR.)

Even touching a sore spot with Dark being compared to Shadow Link.

Dark doesn't take that comparison well at ALL causing him to cut his own hand off just to win the fight.

And since the readers got hindsight: Dark Link's steaks in this fight are WAAAAY bigger than Blue's.

Dark gets chronic pain after he gets hurt by the Four Sword. (Granted timeline wise it's still the same day comic wise. 💀) Him holding the blade of his sword to avoid Blue getting him in the face and cutting his own hand off to avoid it was in a lot of ways the ONLY way out of that...Well if he was human.

I think there's a lot to be said about Dark literally harming himself to win this fight

He doesn't value himself much.

And that's a perpetual theme with him.

Dark just doesn't care about his own safety much.

Again, Dark already cut off his own hand and then GRABES THE BLADE OUCH DUDE.

These panels are pretty quick paced but dude's eyes have been the "Rage" eyes for awhile.

I usually draw Dark with these eyes when he's at his peak anger or manic.

Dark's cute lil horns popped out and his hat has a lil tail to it's end looking a LOT like vaati's.

Blue is SHOCKCED this guy would do something so drastic just to win.

Like reguardless of it growing back, I think most of us would have hesitation to CUTTING OFF YOUR OWN HAND.

Originally: Dark was meant to cut off his fingers, but ahh. Changed it because someone I know doesn't like finger/hand trauma. (There's a reason why there's a "mildly censored" of these pages.

Also the blood: Dark's blood dripping into Blue's eye literally clouding his vision and representing him being blinded by red/rage. XD

Hehe literal stuff.

It's also the eye that ends up glitching into Link's eye so...Hmmm wonder if there's a connection there.

Reasonable question from Blue. His shaky word bubble shows he's kinda afraid of that outcome.

Dark's downright offended by the suggestion though before laughing in Blue's face.

The "Are you stupid?" face is so silly. I'm sure a lot of you can tell it's inspired by the Excalibur face. XD

FSR is nothing if not horny as hell.

The mention of Green snaps Blue out of having his hair yanked by this weirdo.

Originally Dark Link was going to meet ALL the Links spare Green and Shadow all together (Vio/Blue/Red) and his rabbit dog line was actually in reference to Blue being PISSED about Dark.

La de daaa rewrites and ba boom they met here and Darkblue happened so.

Eh if you were interested. A lot of ideas end up being reused.

The idea of Dark reflecting Blue's toxic and overwhelming anger was used to a much better affect here than in the og brainstorming I think.

If you want another freaky cut detail:

Back when Dark had a bigger antagonist role. He went WAAAY deeper into his mental torture on Blue.

(Ya know. usual villain things like cosplaying vio's corpse)

Dark was less of a character in the older drafts and more of a HORROR creepy pasta character haha. more of what we saw Vio going through less of a hopeless romantic. XD

But the fact they had a boss fight has been around in the drafts since Dark's inception pretty much. Though the OG Darkblue fight had WAY more steaks and was towards the end of the og script draft of FSR.

Art wise I'm not completely happy with this page. Dark...buddy where's your eye shines. And MAN I wish I made the water more than JUST a gradient but ahh what can ya do. I release these daily sometimes with 6 page updates.

Dark expresses his "This is why you don't meet your heroes" rant because he's having an autistic meltdown shit didn't go the way he wanted. (Ya know what. Same sometimes pal)

Just throwing Blue back his sword in anger, to which Blue reaches for.

Dark is reasonably tired of this and expresses how HE feels about his situation.

This is more fucked up when you consider the four sword leaves Dark with serious pain.

Dude just offered to become Blue's punching bag "if it'll make him happy".

Dark's self worth is in the toilet and it's even worse because some part of him MUST think Blue might take him up on that offer.

Whatever fulfils his promise to Green.

Having this slung at his face Blue doesn't exactly take it well.

I've touched on it before but I really do feel like blue didn't ACTUALLY get much growth in his anger department. his anger just stopped being used as a punchline when he physically hurt the other 3.

Like...that's not character growth???

I really feel like we could have used a scene where characters REALLY touched on "hey, when you hurt people that isn't fucking cool" To blue but idk.

Like we got a very watered down idea of that where the fairy tells blue to stop being so mean but it's so soft and underplayed idk.

I really wanna touch on how I'd rewrite Blue's arc whenever I make a video dissecting the FS manga because I feel like blue has a LOT of potential to show someone coping with anger issues better.

Dark calling him out here forces him to recognize the gravity of his abuse towards the others.

And it'll be touched on again when Blue talks about how Vaati treats Dark Link, and how that pisses him off.

I just personally like how in realizing how his actions come off and how they hurt others (Specifically Dark Link here) Blue chooses to try and be better going forward.

Blue's defences kick in at first when Dark sugjests he take his anger out on him, and it's "Just something he needs to get used to" because he's bitter over what Vaati's been putting him through, what Shadow put him through even and the fight Blue and him JUST HAD.

Almost ALL of Dark's interactions, aside from Green's have been physical violence and that finally caught up with him and by proxy got him angry enough to confront blue on his behavior.

It's enough to make Blue think for a second like "No I'm not like that" so he immediately jumps to "Why would you say that!?".

Then to blaming Dark Link as he tries to rationalize before defaulting to wreck less anger just shouting for Dark Link to die as his terror at his own actions consume him.

The paneling reflecting how the darkness and his horror spread further and further.

"Again."

"Seriously? How many times are you forcing me to pencil dive?" Ellie groaned, awkwardly adjusting her swim shirt. It's actually Maria's shirt, and the swim trunks she's wearing belong to one of the local teens. They're both a little too big for her small frame but so far it hasn't been a huge problem.

"Until your form is completely straight," Joel responded, "We ain't leavin' until you've done five perfect dives, kiddo."

You snorted at Ellie's annoyed grunt. Joel gave you a soft smile before quickly turning back to make sure Ellie hadn't fallen off the small cliff and drowned in the three seconds he had taken his eyes off of her. 

"Keep your arms tightly against your side and your feet pointed downward to-,"

"-reduce the force of impact upon entry." Ellie finished, words most likely burned into her brain at this point, "I know, you've told me like a thousand fucking times already."

She took a deep breath before jumping into the water, back perfectly straight. Your eyes quickly move to where Joel is standing at the edge of the embankment, rocking back and forth on his heels.

He's nervous, been this way all day. It's such a small mundane thing; learning how to swim. Joel had told you once that him and Tommy learned by being thrown into the water by their drunken father. 

It wasn't going to be like that with Ellie. 

You could see his lips moving, silently counting the seconds she's under the water. You have no doubt that when he reaches ten, he'll be diving in to get her. 

He got to eight when her head finally broke the surface of the water, a loud exhale left her body, followed by an even louder inhale of air. 

"Did you fucking see that?" Ellie grinned, "I touched the bottom of the river."

"That you did, that you did." Joel chuckled, arm extended to pull her out of the water. He leaned down to whisper something in her ear and Ellie's grin became even wider. 

You didn't even have time to brace yourself before you had a lap full of a soaking fifteenth year old. You squealed in surprise and Ellie giggled, something that's becoming more and more frequent lately.

Your bathing suit cover-up – one of Joel's plaid button ups you've claimed as your own – is getting soaked by the second. It's warm out, the sun absorbing the droplets quickly, but you hadn't really planned on getting wet. Dipping your toes in the water sure. Not wearing half the river. 

Ellie rolled off of you and onto the grass, "Man, you should've seen your face! I thought you were going to have a heart attack." 

You dug your fingers into her side, eyes searching for Joel as you did so. You're not surprised to find him already looking your way. Tommy had once joked that Joel's eyes never truly leave you or Ellie. 

They don't, Joel had told you later when you had repeated what Tommy said. He's always looking, always making sure his girls are okay. 

Ellie bats your hand away, pleading with you to stop tickling her. You listened and moved your hand up to her head instead, removing her ponytail to thread your fingers through her dark hair.  

Ellie slowly laid her head down on your bare thighs, still a little hesitant on whether or not she's crossing boundaries. She's not, never could. 

You don't say anything, don't dare to move a muscle. You just wait until she's relaxed enough before returning to massaging her temple. She lets out a small tired yawn.

Ellie tilted her head to where Joel's leaning against a nearby tree, silently watching with a carefree smile, "You waiting for an invitation or what old man?" 

Joel huffed, mumbling about how he's not old and settled himself behind you, pulling you back against his chest with your head resting on his shoulder. One hand propped his body up and the other unbuttoned your shirt enough to snake his hand inside.

You glanced up at him, brow raised as if to say 'really?' and Joel laid his palm flat against your stomach, drawing you in closer to him. He sighed contentedly against the skin of your neck before pressing a delicate kiss against your jaw. You lean into the warmth of his lips. 

There's a puff of warm air on your right leg and you watch as Ellie's head tilted to the side, eyes closed and lips parted. You can't fight back the smile that graces your lips. She's falling asleep on you. If that isn't the biggest sign of trust, you don't know what is.

Behind you Joel grunted, but it's lacking his normally gruffness, "Kid's still got three dives left to complete before we head back."

You rolled your eyes, "The water will still be here tomorrow, Joel. I'll wake up extra early and make sure no infected managed to outsmart your traps."

Joel hugged you closer, "Respectfully, ma'am, no you won't. Not without me, at least."

"We'll wake up tomorrow," You corrected, then sighed, "I wish everyday was like this. Us three, together."

Joel's silent behind you, but you don't feel like you've crossed a line. You let him have a moment to gather his thoughts, you always do. 

"It could be," Joel said, "Jackson doesn't have keys – hell Jackson barely has front doors that close all the way-,"

You can't help but snort. As much as Jackson's thriving in an apocalyptic world, there's still flaws. It's not like the town has access to new key making equipment. Some doors don't even have doorknobs anymore. The residents survive by trust that the few belongings they have are safe inside their homes. 

"-but if my doorknob had a working lock, you'd be the first to have a key." 

"Even before Tommy?"

"Especially before Tommy."

You're not stupid, you know he's asking you to move in with him. He hasn't exactly been subtle about it. Almost all of your clothing is hung up in his closet – by his doing. Some of your more meaningful knickknacks you've collected over the years have found home on a shelf in his room. 

He built you your own hook to hang up your coat.

Ellie had once joked that he's hopeless. You can't help but agree.

Joel's body goes stiff behind you and you realise you haven't answered him, "Does Ellie know?"

"She won't shut up about it. That girl needs you as much as I do," He admitted, "That scares me sometimes y'know."

You nod, because you do know. You're in the same boat. Losing him, losing Ellie, that would destroy you. You gently brush the back of your hand against Ellie's cheek, and snuggle back against Joel, "Can my key be multi-coloured?"

"Your key can be made from diamonds I've foraged for with my own two hands if that means you'll say yes." 

"How about a wooden one spray painted?" 

Joel hummed and turned your head to seal your lips together in a brief kiss, "I'll get right on that, darlin'."

Saiwa finally modified the Circuit Board from Arturo. It's compatible with the Astromech now and ready for testing. That was about time. Arturo promised them this board would help them through this. Sai can't wait to finally get all their problems fixed! Ji Ho is moving the chairs aside to make some space. And Sai calls Jack. Saiwa: "Jack! Come over and bring your little friend!" ... Saiwa: "Not Logan! The tin can!" Jack: "Don't call him like this :'( " Saiwa sighs: "Ok, bring Tiny Can then..." (The glances from Adriano and Little Goat ^^')

Jack: "Now you're glad we took him with us all the way from Selvadorada, right?" Saiwa: "Maybe ;) "

It works! But - that wasn't what Saiwa expected...

Saiwa: "Are you kidding me? A Therapy AI? How is this supposed to solve our problems? No one is mental here!" Jack and Ji Ho: "..."

And that was when Saiwa had a complete breakdown. All the months under extreme pressure take their toll now.

Vlad sensed over the Bond that something was wrong and came over. Sai was still screaming.

Vlad: "Ji Ho and I call the horses. We'll bring him away for a while." Jack: "We can't bring Sai to the temple. He will kill Arturo ö.Ö' " Vlad: "There is another place... get ready and pack for a few days."

They brought Saiwa to the bathroom to get ready and pack his stuff. And then he saw the birds 🐦 on the wallpaper... And he freaked out again.

Jack: "Sai, get up. We're leaving. You'll be fine, hm? We're there for you." Saiwa sobs: "We finally have a home now and can be together without the council on our heels. But the struggles just don't stop. It just goes on and on and on..."

Sai: "I can't do this anymore." Jack: "You don't have to. We are going to take a break. Come." Jack tries to remain strong for Saiwa. But he's right. For one step forward they take 7 steps back. It never gets better.

Ji Ho and Vlad had saddled the horses in the meantime and then they left.

Letting Saiwa go without being able to help him was the hardest thing Jeb ever had to do. But the others are right. There's nothing he can do for him now. Being near him would only make it worse for Saiwa. And Kiyoshi felt guilty. Had they only left him in the tree. It's all his fault. They'd be better off without him but they are forced to stay here together.

There were a few raised hands here and there while others just say “Agreed.” and those who don’t respond are probably just as bored as you are. Karen shuffles her papers as she changes the topic. “The next concern is the gym uniforms, little Timothy has been complaining about the new shirts being itchy,”

Just when you thought your head was about to smack against the tiny desk, the door abruptly opens and closes with a noticeable thud that has everyone looking back, where Karen groans briefly before addressing the late parent. “You’re late yet again, Mr. Peacemaster.” her voice is drowned out by the clattering of wet heels against the floor.

Peace master interrupts the conference by squeezing water out of his hat. The other parents simply look at him in silence as he soaks the flooring even more, his dark outfit is but a huge jab within the colorful classroom A striking sight in your opinion.  “Pardon for the delay, I was out exorcising an ancient temple that just so happened to be underwater,” he says casually. “Oh, but please continue.” He motions with the wave of his hand as he sits down next to you.

While the domestic parents were staring at him with disapproval, you were grinning to yourself at finding amusement with the adventurous man—particularly because his long legs didn’t fit in the kid’s desk. No adult fits in these, of course, but since he’s such a towering man that its noticeable with him. Your emphasis went back to the water drops running down the dark leather of his boots, unconsciously imagining the reflection of its shiny material stretching over his arms with tight gloves, it'll definitely look good on him just as much as how any black and whites stand out with his tranquil pistachio skin. The water drops don't stop their trail down his legs, they tauntingly guide your eyesight down to his thighs, which are rough and firm yet they have you wishing nothing more than to slip them apart or having them straddle you against the cushions of a soft bed.

Peace Master makes a little tilt toward you. "Did I miss anything?" he murmurs.

You let out an inaudible sigh, personally thanking any higher power for sending PM out on that underwater temple. "Only a pair of leather straps-" you broke out of your daydream before embarrassing yourself any more "OH! You're talking about the meeting!" You speak aloud unintentionally loud enough for another parent to gently scold you.

You swiftly unscrew the cap on your water bottle and down it. Although it's true that he can be unpredictable at times, he has the right combination of domestic and supernatural elements to stand out in your daily life. Anyone with a normal mind would tell you that you're crazy if you thought he was attractive given his unpredictable career and equally odd personality. However others may feel, Peacemaster has shown himself to be a responsible dad, which is also attractive to you as a single parent.

You shrug as you wipe the water stains from the corners of your mouth. “You didn't miss much, however Karen wants to change the lunch menu you proposed last semester.”

The man snarled angrily as he exposed his teeth. “That woman! It’s like she doesn’t know kids need some fun and protein, that’s what the chicken nuggets are for.” He laments in a low, irritated voice. "Speaking of tasty treats, I brought something for you. I expected Karen to serve lame snacks again; hopefully, this will make things less boring." You pray that whatever the Peace master pulls out of his coat isn't wet, but to your astonishment you see a bag of chips.

You gratefully accept the bag of chips, but not before recognizing how his hand lingered on yours throughout the short exchange, unleashing a flurry of previously buried emotions.  “Thanks PM, you make everything less boring.” You smile as you start popping chips in your mouth. Peacemaster redirected his focus to the meeting, but his hat's curve couldn't keep the smile on his face that resulted from your kind words. In return, you pat his shoulder. "I know, let's team up against Karen when the bake sale comes up. She'll want to do the easiest job and we can't let her win that," You smile mischievously, his tender smile morphing into an equally wicked grin that matches yours.

In addition to contradicting Karen on the Bake Sale, you successfully persuaded the other parents to revise the lunch menu options, returning it to the layout Peacemaster initially intended. It was worthwhile when you finally left the meeting with Karen's watchful eye but that didn't take away from your content laugh. It's already darkening outside when you leave the school building alongside Peacemaster, walking him across the parking lot so you two could reach his used van.

"Looks like we weren't the only ones who had a grudge against her; I didn't anticipate the other parents joining in so quickly." Peacemaster pauses briefly and turns to face you. "Thanks again for the support; I don't think I would have advanced this far on my own."

He compliments you as you stroke a hair behind your ear while grinning; it feels better than a hot beverage in the winter. "No problem, it's about time someone speaked up against Karen. Besides, I trust your judgment when it comes to your children and the decisions you make for them, well except when it comes to driving." You throw in that final blow as a joke.

"You might not trust my driving, but you can't argue with how quickly I get to places." He gives you finger guns while winking.

"I can't argue with that." you shake your head. "Speaking of which, think I can hitch a ride? My car is stuck in the workshop."

"Sure! Anything for my crime partner." Peacemaster unlocked the driver's door, but the squishy noise of his wet boots reminded him of his damp clothing. "Drat, I'm going to need to change first."

You raise your hands to the man, already turning around in respect. "Go ahead, I can wait."  Turning in the direction of the school grounds, you watch as each parent exits in their own car until all you can hear is the commotion behind you, while you kept your word and didn't turn around that didn't include reflective surfaces. Even if the mirror is small, it nonetheless provided you a glimpse of Peacemaster's underwear preferences. How appropriate, tidy whites.

"Let's go." PM breaks the silence as he buttons his pants and tosses the wet clothes in the back of the van. While you slip into the copilot seat and click your seat belt in place, Peacemaster stays in place with his hands firmly placed on the steering wheel but not turning on the ignition. "What's up?" you ask.

"Normally, I'm of sound mind and don't let anything affect me, which is why I'm good at my job, but leather straps? What was that about?" He tilts one arm on the wheel and turns to face you with intense curiosity.

You're an adult, that's the thing. Even though you have a child and have encountered odd situations in the past, this confrontation has made you feel just like a teenager all over again. You're dizzy, your palms are sweating and your heart is pounding in your ears.

"I, don't know what you're talking about."

"Don't play dumb with me!"

You jump unexpectedly when PM slammed his hand against the closest thing near him, in this case being the steering wheel which blew the horn throughout the empty parking lot. "I'm a very perceptive man, and although there are things I can't see at first glance and blame the misfortune on exterior forces I know this isn't one of them!" he points an accusatory finger at you as if you just summoned something you shouldn't. "I saw how you looked at me earlier throughout the meeting and while I was changing. I've known you for a while now and you've never eyed me like that before, acquaintance or not I am also a man of action and will act accordingly depending on the situation!"

You wanted to roll your eyes on that, it's inevitable he rides his high horse sometimes but you're being accused here so talking back probably isn't the best idea right now. But it doesn't stop you. "And what's the situation going on here Mr. Judge and Jury?"

Peacemaster raises a hand to his chin trying to appear professional but comes off as a know it all. "I'm well versed in a multitude of paranormal entities. Either you're being possessed by a promiscuous entity or... Well it's something else, but it's definitely the first thing!" his mighty speech slows down as he reaches that last part, as if he bumped into a wall in his logic.

"Or what...?" you continue, with your back already pressed against the door since he caught you you off guard. Wait. You crawl into the occupied driver's seat, shocking Peacemaster, but he's too astonished to stop you from straddling him. "Or what Peacemaster? Is it really that difficult for you to think I like you that you'd rather believe I'm possessed?" You spoke with an unexpected surge of flirty confidence that startled him. He is a guy who has encountered many horrors, but at least those horrors were known to him. This is unexplored territory, which is more terrifying than any beast from the deepest reaches of the night.

Peacemaster appeared to shrink in place, turning his head away as you metaphorically and literally pinned him to the wall "I... I would've noticed it earlier if that were the case! You're clearly being possessed. I mean, our kids have been friends since they were in kindergarten and if I would've known earlier I would've... I would've..."

"Pull the moves on me?" you finish the sentence for him.

"Exorcize you! I would've performed an exorcism already!"

"You're lying." you huff nonchalantly.

"AM NOT!" his green face turns into a dark shade as he rebutts your claims.

"Then why are you grabbing my ass?" you softly move your hips as you feel his hands grab either side you your bums.

Without any excuse or fight left in him Peacemaster leaned forward and shut you up by crashing his lips on your own, you return the gesture by placing your hands on his face and savoring everything he had to offer even if he was still being stubborn about it. "I'm gonna have to perform rituals on you, until you're completely... ah, purified... " he attempts to keep his threats but they sound like sweet promises to you.

"You can perform whatever you want on me~"

🌸 Does your Rook have any siblings or close friends they see as such? Where are they during the events of Veilguard?

Two come to mind!

First, a blood half-sibling in Kieran. I genuinely have no fucking clue where this guy is during Veilguard though... and I haven't played Kerros enough to really figure out the nitty gritty.

I like the idea of Kieran continuing to go where Morrigan goes though - I think he would enjoy Arlathan a lot. He's curious and inquisitive, careful (most of the time) and patient, and I have no doubt he's learned a vast amount from Morrigan in their travels across Thedas. Pairing that with how lonely he feels after Urthemiel's soul was taken by Flemeth, I find it a pretty good bet that he takes some interest in exploring and documenting the Crossroads at some point.

I haven't finagled it out yet but I could absolutely see an universe where Kieran comes to the Lighthouse to study the Vi'Revas 👀

And the second: his cousin, officially Ignacio Brex, but most everyone calls him Brex. Born to Rion's sister, Sirya, around about 9:31-33 Dragon, not entirely sure on dates yet, but either which way, Brex is only about 9-10 during Veilguard. A baby.

And Brex is very much like a baby brother to Kerros, rather than cousin -- Sirya remains in the clan, in Dhavan'an, as does Brex, so Kerros' interaction with them is the same as it is with Cullen and Amrun and everyone else he misses back home; mostly letters sent here and there, with occasional very brief reunions made possible by the Howling Boeric and Kerros' shortcut to the Halls of Valor.

Brex definitely adores Kerros though, and constantly asks Sirya when he's coming home.

Honestly, I think the Hall of Valour -- Kerros doesn't always like solitude, and being in a rowdy seaside bar with other Lords nearly always sounds like a good time for him. He can lose his responsibilities in other people for a little while.

I do think he comes to like Cafe Pietra a lot too once Lucanis introduces him to the place. It's a different atmosphere, nowhere near as raucous and overwhelming as the Halls, but it has its own charm. Its own peace. And he likes that it's Lucanis' place, it feels like knowing him that little bit more every time he goes there and sees something new that he didn't notice before.

I mean, he's really not a fan of the Fade, but I don't think that's irrational given how unstable it is.

Though, thinking about it some more -- enclosed spaces that make you feel miniscule. Like... when you walk into a big huge enclosed space and you feel utterly dwarfed by the vastness that surrounds you in that moment, enough that you feel like you could condense into a teeny tiny little black hole purely because of how your presence just echoes for eternity within those four walls. I think Kerros has seen some fucked up and gargantuan temples in his time and he'd prefer not to repeat it.

bg3 multiplayer is very good

Just some of my favorite moments so far from the bg3 multiplayer game @icapturedthecastle and I have been playing:

Sarah constantly asking "what are you stealing???" when my Durge and Astarion are running around somewhere she can't see us and the activity feed says we succeeded on a sleight of hand check

Me making Sarah do every interaction with Gale because I cannot be trusted not to romance him

"Gale's kinda petty when he's drunk" "You shouldn't even be talking to Gale, you know better than that" "I WAS LEFT UNSUPERVISED"

Sarah making us reload like three times because Shadowheart kept rejecting her at the tiefling party - "how do I accidentally romance her EVERY TIME but when I'm trying to do it on purpose she turns me down???"

Giving every character either the magic violin or the Performer feat so they can be in a band with my Bard Durge - except for Sarah's character who she prefers to have bang on a drum with us like an "enthusiastic toddler"

We were having fun with Boo the hamster and throwing him around our Elfsong hotel room, but then Sarah threw a health potion at him to heal him and every single companion went hostile because they thought we were attacking him

Yelling at Gale for being too handsome with the bun mod we both went out of our way to download

rebirth ends like it's gearing up for them to go to the reunion, but i have no idea how the fuck they're going to do that. i don't know how they're going to do MOST of disc 2, when:

we already did whirlwind maze shit in the temple of the ancients

the weapons are already up

there's no such thing as the actual town fort condor

we already had a lifestream sequence

cloud's regaining his memories on his own without tifa

there's no such thing as rocket town, and cid has expressed no desire to go to space

aeris's ghost is hanging around

i'm assuming there IS going to be a rufus team-up at SOME point, because rebirth went HARD on establishing rufus as one of sephiroth's primary targets and sephiroth as rufus's primary focus in return, and rufus already tried extending an olive branch to them once. they also pushed forward the inciting incident for rufus's redemption arc by having him freaked out over shit going down at the temple of the ancients instead of getting shocked into action by the rise of the weapons. and also the turks have become such a staple that it seems insane to think that we won't team up with them at some point, but like

as to the when and why and how, i have no fucking idea.

my personal guess is that it's going to either happen at wutai when the truth about rufus comes out, or it's going to happen at the diamond weapon fight and it'll elevate rufus's Big Damn Hero moment

but i have no evidence for thinking that, currently. it's just a gut feeling i have.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles Part 1: Can't have anything on Angel Island!

I’ve had my ups and downs with Sonic as a series, in fact I’ll be brutally honest: for as important as this series was to my formative years I’ve had more downs than ups, to the point that I’ve even found myself disliking games I used to love over time. There has been very little that I’ve enjoyed from this franchise during the past 10 years, to the point that I struggle to define myself as a Sonic fan anymore

However!

If there’s one thing I can still put quite a lot of faith into, even after all these years, is Sonic 3′s quality

Sonic 3 is not just the best Sonic game ever, it is, in my eyes, one of the best videogames ever created, and this isn’t something that I’m saying just because I grew up with this game, as you’ll see in the future I’m no stranger to being extremely critical against games I grew up with that I used to enjoy (or even viceversa). The fact that this game is not usually included in top ten best games lists alongside other famous gems like Super Metroid, Ocarina of Time, Resident Evil 4 and the like is, I think, one of the greatest injustices ever done to this series, though I do have an idea as to why that is, but more on that at a later time

The level design in this game is so gargantuan yet intricate and thought out, which is actually something that I have to remind myself of, given that I’m so used to it now. Not only are these way bigger than levels from the previous games but I’m pretty sure that Sonic 3 features the largest levels of any platformer of its generation. Of course I might be wrong but I haven’t played any other game of that era with levels this huge, not Super Mario World, not Shinobi, not Mega Man and not Castlevania. When I was younger I actually used to see this as a flaw because, on average, these levels generally took me around 5-6 minutes to complete, which is longer than the average Sonic level length, but with hindsight these levels have so many secret shortcuts and pathways that you can cut down that time pretty substantially once you know what you’re doing. It certainly helps that these secret paths are not too hard to find for anyone who is at least halfway familiar with how level design in platformers works, it’s the usual stuff: some walls look a bit different than others or maybe you can see a trail of rings go through one. Many of these levels are actually quite fun to explore and the game knows how to reward that curiosity as you’ll see in the future. All of this basically makes Sonic 3 a much better exploration game than Sonic CD, which is pretty humiliating given that Sonic 3 isn’t even trying to make exploration its main focus

Despite this I actually think that Angel Island is the weakest of the classic starting levels. It’s a good level don’t get me wrong, but it’s smaller and overall more linear than Green Hill, Emerald Hill and Palmtree Panic. Though because of its more contained nature it does perhaps make for a better tutorial level for any beginner. I especially like how Act 2 starts with you always (well almost always, sometimes you stop rolling because of collision detection issues, more on those at a later time...) crashing through a wall leading to a Giant Ring, as a way to subtly communicate to the player about their existence and how to usually find them 

Hydro city is peak Sonic water level: the lesson introduced in Aquatic Ruin about trying to stick to the upper routes to avoid going into the water is mostly kept (though unless you can use Tails to fly Sonic up at the start you won’t be able to access the upper route right away with him and you’ll have to go underwater for a while, but not too long), the submerged temple-city aesthetic is pretty unique and act 2 is just a flat out fun old time like Chemical Plant Act 2

Marble Garden is, unfortunately, my least favorite level in the game. Partly because of its pretty drab looks but mostly due to its obstacle placement. I actually think that Sonic 3 can get worse than Sonic 2 at times with its tendency to have you crash headfirst against obstacles at mach speed. Some levels are fine with this, but others go overboard, Launch Base and Lava Reef are the other 2 major examples but I think that Marble Garden is worse because it’s just the third level and, unlike the other 2 examples, you can’t use the Fire Shield to somewhat mitigate the issue. Sure you can abuse Super forms but that’s not a proper solution you know?

The spinning tops are also pretty damn awkward to handle and, as a kid, I had no idea you could make them automatically reach their top speeds by just having them touch the ground, it’s not exactly communicated to you clearly.

Cithare is a Minecraft plugin- Actually more context.

My boyfriend's older brother is a software engineer whose life goes like (in his words) "I Came, I Saw, I Became An Adminstrator"- No more context.

Somewhen around second half of the 19th century a cook from a local castle carved several sculptures right into the sandstone rocks that are scattered through the local woods. While they are not the most famous of the set, the most prominent two in this story are the Chapel of Mary Magdalene and the Harper. (This is enough information you need to find out where I live, by the way).

Both my boyfriend and his older brother and several of our common friends are members of the local Scouts chapter.[1] They organise an annual mostly-Scout LARP-esque battle in the local woods with the lore being an alternate reality where the Harper statue (rock-carving?) is instead a zitherist and the capital of a fantasy kingdom this battle is fought over is Cithare (because Zithere looks weird). The Harper (Cithare) and Chapel of Mary Magdalene are important landmarks both for the game and orientation

If my memory serves right, the managed to do it precisely once before the Big Covid Lockdown came and stabbed the biggest pitchfork related to gathering a hundred or so kids together imaginable to mankind into it.

At which point my salty beanpole's brother and our friend and this friend's friend/ex-classmate said: "Hey, almost everyone we know has some version of Minecraft, at least a cracked one. It can't be that hard for a software engineer and two studying software engineers to write a plugin for Minecraft that would simulate score points for capturing points and killing members of opposing teams."

[1] I was part of the Scouts for, like, three weeks, that was until my mother heard the kids pledging loyalty and promised to unquestioningly obey the superiors.

At first it was one slightly altered map, duct-taped together code to keep track of score, and around a dozen of Scouts who were allowed to stay out of the bad past 10 PM. Currently it is a Discord server of 100 members, developing team of 12 people (activity varying). For now and the foreseeable future it is strictly CZ/SK and invite-only.

The plugin itself supports English (in which it is written), Czech (translated by yours truly and salty beanpole boyfriend) and Pirate Speak (translated by me, helped a bottle of gin and Alestorm for moral support and authenticity). The entire plugin is a dedication to the founding dev team being huge nerds who applied as much of Team Fortress and DOTA possible to Minecraft.

Currently the Cithare plugin has two alternating maps:

The original one, expanded and built upon, with 4 static capture points (called flags) and 4 travelling points (they remain in place, but only 1 of them is active at the time, switching activity through the game.) There are several points of interest

Chapel of Mary Magdalene: the south-situated world spawn

Cithare: The capital of the kingdom in the middle, a static capture point. It is build indeed like a city, originally meant from rooftop-chase and parkour combat, usually just TNTed to oblivion

The Crossroad: A static capture point in the east, previously in a barren plain. Since it in the first five minutes turned into a crater with obisdian platfrom around the flag (beacon), it is now overgrown with trees which make it mroe interesting of a fight.

The Last Watch: A static capture point, a tower in the north. Current meta-game: Sniper's nest, unless Skydiver is allowed, then you need a blast-resistant sniper.

The Scarp: A static capture point in an underground cave in the west. Current meta: Either put water above the flag and waterfall down or slap a teleporter down there.

The Sunken Temple: An underwater travelling capture point in the central southwest sea. Current meta: Gladiator dominance.

The old sunken temple: The previous spot where the aforementioned travelling flag was, in the southeastern sea. Currently hosts the Carp, a miniboss, the killing of which grants a custom achievement.

The Fairy Rings: A travelling capture point on an island between two rivers in central southeast.

Grannny's House: A travelling flag on a floating island to northeast. It is inaccessible by other means than putting down blocks and climbing them or flying. Inside is a hostile witch named Granny. Granny's house is notably made of nether and twisted nether blocks with a crater on the ground below it. It has been moved. though I don't remember where the original location was

The Secret Sanctum: An underground travelling flag to northwest. My pride and joy, because this is when I joined in on the project. Guys were like: "People don't visit Zamar because is in the middle of hellish nowhere. Let's make a new one, and let's make it an underground dungeon labyrinth where people get lost." And I was like "Hey, I'm a DM, you need an underground labyrinth? I'll do it." And then I did it. And then everyone and their dog complained that they get lost in the labyrinth. and since above it was an irrigated field, they waterfalled down. So in the next patch I removed the irrigation and added new entrances. The Secret Sanctum is great.

The Ruins of Zamar: A permanently inactive travelling flag in the south in the ruins of an old city. Zamar is the Ancient Kingdom on the corpse of which Cithare was founded.

The Pirate Ship: A ship west of Cithare City in the sea, sevres as the spawn for the Pirate team.

Four elemental shrines which currently do nothing scattered through the far ends of the map, and the Altar on the mountain in the middle, close to Cithare, wher eplayers can sacrifice essences.

Then as a "big reveal" we added the Air map with which I helped a lot more.

It features the same flags, because they are tried and trusty, with some changes:

Cithare flag is now indeed in the middle of the town, the place is more densely built over, so indeed there is town combat.

The Mines have replaced the Cliff, they are a large chasm. (The renaming was because "Watch" and "Scarp" in Czech sound similar and in voice-chat people got misnavigated because of that)

Rather than one big Altar for four essences, there are now four tiny altars for one essence.

The Mysterious Sanctum is much bigger and better navigable (in my opinion) than the Secret Sanctum, and also it is well lit. It has tons of loot, but most of it is well hidden. (Secret Cithare lore: Honey blocks in Sanctum.)

Zamar is now imitating the Deep Dark biome (I lovingly call it Shallow Dark), yes that includes the Warden, I think there is an achievement but not sure. There are ominous messages, though.

The Last Watch tower is not as tall, but it has dungeons.

There is an Airship rather than Granny's House.

The Fairy Rings are situated on a glaze terracota mushroom cap as an island rather than on a normal island.

The Glen has replaced the Crossroad, it is surrounded on all sides. Because of the Glen location we actually chose this seed for the map.

Speaking of, the entire map was generated in 1.18 Minecraft, so it is rather more vertical (hence the name Air. The original map, is known as Water, because it has a lot of seas). As such it features a lot of bridges and three flightpaths, as in you hop on a phantom and fly around the map as if it was a bus!

At the beginning of the game you get picked into a team. Players who are odd or come late end up in the Pirate team which doesn't aim for winning, it's supposed to sow chaos and help the losing team, they also cannot capture flags. After getting into a team you pick one of 15 (17) classes. Regular teams pick regular classes, Pirate team picks Pirate classes. Anyone can roll a class randomly with a 5 % chance of getting a class they dont' have access to (Pirates for regular classes, regular teams for pirate classes)

Footman - usually banned from play, meant to be granted to beginning players. Generates low bounty (score awarded for killing) unless it scores more than 3 kills in succession. Can't do anything interesting

King - Must be played in King's draft, only 1 per team possible. High bounty, can teleport teammates to themselves, shares food de/buffs with nearby teammates, has golden armour

General - High bounty, can buff teammates with a warhorn, has a summonable horse

Warrior - no interesting skills. Starts with better armour and weapons. "normal mode" class

Marksman - Can track a tag (knows who controls it) and can foretell weather. Can ender-pearl teleport and then teleport back to the original place. Starts with a bow. Sniper.

Scout - Can turn invisible, can masquarede as another player, can capture a flag with an arrow

Gladiator - Has a riptide trident, cobwebs and an enchanted golden apple, gains more score for killing successful players. Doesn't start with a pickaxe, can't use axe as a weapon, cannot use an elytra. Gladiator has been the subject of the most patch-fixes, getting and losing a shield, because of this class the weather is very customised and so forth.

Engineer - Has a portal Gun for placing two-way teleporters (only 1 pair can be active, teleporting has a cooldown) and a remote TNT detonator.

Quartermaster - funnily enough this one has existed, then it got deleted, after over a year it was made anew. Currently has a pocket ender chest through which they can put items to they teammates' spawn-chests, and permanent night vision.

Alchemist - has a store-mode in which they can buy alchemical reagents and/or potions. They gain weaknesses opposite to resistances. They get store-coins by eating honey and spider eyes

Mage - Swiss army knife of classes, has 4 spells. They may pick a specialisation which buffs 1 spell and gives passive abilities. The spells are: healing, confusing player's looks and names for enemy players, AOE fire dmaage, and targeted lighting strikes.

Skyriver - Usually banned, has a sturdy elytra, can drop a lit TNT.

Pirate - Pirate class, has a portal gun (pirated), Pocket Boat (AKA PokéBoat ) and Dolphin's Grace in water. Parallels the Warrior/Engineer class

Rogue Inquisitor - Pirate class. Anti-mage. Is immune to all Mage's spells, has Witchhammer - a book-weapon that sets target on fire. Parallels the Warrior/Mage class

Arbalist - Pirate Class. Has a rocket-launcher crossbow (Arrrbow). Parallels the Marksman class

Shapeshifter - Can turn into a skeleton (infinity bow), dolphin (water breath, dolphin's grace), chicken (slow falling), zombie (resistance 1), spider (night vision), creeper (self-detonation) or enderman (infinite ender pearl). Parallels the Scout class)

Raider - has a very fast horse and can debuff everyone around with war horn. Parallels the General class.

Currently there are no games (strictly speaking Test Sessions) planned, because it's the summer holidays.

Mate I had the weirdest dream

I dreamt I was in a temple and I was chased by like mini versions of the yeti from Expedition Everest, a ride I know from Disney btw, and then I fell into a huge gap where there was a pool of water at the bottom and then there was a shrine underwater and then a staircase I swam to that led me back on land

I woke up for a moment at like 3 in the morning thinking what kind of dream was that and then just went back to sleep lmao
