Hi Gracie! I adore your Rimworld comics so much (I've been following since Season One of the Jones lads and I've read back through your playthroughs repeatedly—just finished another read yesterday), and now you've gotten me into Pete Complete too! I just wanted to know, as I've now torn through two of his Rimworld playlists in two days, is there anyone else whose playthroughs you'd recommend? I can't afford the game yet, so glutting myself on other people's joy seems like a fun solution! Thanks so much for making your art and sharing it with the world! I love glutting myself on RimWorld content. Pete Complete is far and above my favourite, but I have other recommendations too. Here are a few of the other YouTube channels I peruse frequently:

AmbiguousAmphibian has a playlist of RimWorld challenges that I often find myself coming back to time and time again. They're lots of fun, and AA's narration style is bizarrely soothing and almost lyrical at times.

Hazzor has a similar style to AA, and I can't remember how many times I've watched through this playlist and hoped my RimWorld stories were half as interesting as these ones. I'm particularly fond of The Badgerhold Saga, and rewatch it once every three months or so.

EvilFluffyTuna is a newer channel on my radar, but I do enjoy the storytelling style, and the videos never fail to make me laugh. Also, who can say no to a Scottish accent?

Speaking of storytelling, Lore Harbour does an incredible job telling stories with RimWorld as a medium. This series is my favourite, but the others are all great as well!

If you're still looking for more and have a high tolerance for technological ineptness and grating Australian accents, I hope to stream some more RimWorld on my Twitch channel going forward. I've been using the Random Start mod, and I'm trying to see how far I can get on commitment mode. Currently, my faction is the comfortingly-named "Eye Boilers", but I don't know how long they'll last.

also they've got a cute thing where it's like Alfred looks like a soft grandpa who just tells stories about the war but he's absolutely a BA underneath, and then Frostbite looks terrifying on the surface but is just a huge softie

anyway at the same time I HC Frostbite as aroace so that kind of conflicts there, plus it's hard for me to envision any sort of DP x DC ship bc I don't do anything with it halkfsd

I like to imagine Mechi’s visor-vision has one of those generic sci-fi, futuristic overlays. Probably blue-tinted like his ideology colours, with important information like his mechanitor bandwidth, the date, the temperature…

Everything between Jayce and Viktor can really be traced back to their childhood inciting incidents and it’s killing me.

Jayce: a miracle saves him and his mom, forever imprinting him with the certainty that miracles do exist, they can be controlled, he can save his loved ones no matter how awful things get, if he can just be smart and bold and quick enough.

Viktor: he saw the horror of what Singed had done—of forcing a creature to live against its will, of the degradation and terror of being fundamentally changed. For a while he thought he understood Singed, when he decided that he was willing to throw away all his principles to survive his own body. But he didn’t, really. He didn’t understand. There was still a line he would not cross. He wanted to die human.

It’s fitting, then, and unspeakably tragic, that Jayce is the one who played Singed’s role in the end. Because you can’t ask Jayce to let a loved one go, when he knows there’s a miracle that can save him, the solution is right there, it will work if you will just let him try—and so he forces a change onto Viktor against his will. He traps him into the Arcane, takes apart and reassembles his body, strips him of his selfhood and humanity. All so that Viktor will live. Singed wasn’t talking about the desperation not to die—he was talking about the desperation not to lose someone you love.

And so Viktor is…changed. He lives, whether he wants to or not.

And so Jayce loses him anyway.
