POST WHERE I JUST TALK AB ME AND RED VELVET MEMORIES FOR @sharky-the-idiot under the cut bc idk how long this will b

sorry if im super duper awful at recalling this(ive gotten hit in the head 20 too many times and my memory isnt great) where do i even begin with this, i guess ill start with what got me to leave, unfortunately we did all leave seperately(sorta) it was a chain of events that caused each of us to leave based on the previous person

so what got me to leave, there was this huge fight that broke out between the cookies of darkness (+the cake army) and a combo of the now well off vanilla kingdom and a bunch of other cookies, and to make a complicated battle story short i over exerted my magic and hurt myself in the process, leaving me "just passed out" according to pure vanillas retelling, pomegranate presumed me dead and left with the rest of the cookies of darkness once it was all over. pure vanilla, being the kindhearted cookie he is, decided he didnt really just want to leave an injured cookie there, and when i woke up a few days later still in the vanilla kingdom i had to come to terms with the fact that the cookies of darkness didnt seem to care about me that much (which. youd think i wouldve figured that out sooner considering the amount of abuse all its members endures was horrific).

im able to settle into this new life with a lot of time and effort, but the cookies of darkness learn im still alive and arent happy about it, blah blah attempted murder and kidnapping and all that yummy stuff ill go into detail if asked about happens and red velvet just realizes and is able to go "this is really really horrible" and goes back with me to the vanilla kingdom

it takes a lot of effort for the cookies already living there to accept that ex cult members keep showing up, but they eventually come to terms with it and stop pestering me. me and red velvet make a rescue mission to go find poison mushroom, it works (and i get beaten to a pulp upon discovery "that i dare to return". how dramatic) and we're all good now!

theres a lot of in between stories that dont involve the cookies of darkness that would make for good angsty fanfictions- (like dark cacao kidnapped me once and i was held prisoner for 3 months. hands down the most horrible thing thats ever happened to me) but thats the gist, again sorry if thats poorly explained im pretty exhausted and also not the best storyteller

I have to have silence to read but I have to have noise to read but it can’t be like music with words noise even if the words are in a language I don’t know because I’ll end up distracted trying to sing/mouth along or pinpoint the words I recognize or figure out the story of it instead of reading the thing I was meant to be reading and I can’t use white noise because most white noise makes me feel kinda sleepy but if it’s like specific white noise in a specific mood sometimes it helps and sometimes just the sound of my ac is enough to keep me focused but sometimes it’s so distracting but oh sometimes I really want to be watching a video or movie or show while I’m reading because I desperately need the dopamine from all the things but I can’t read with the sound I focus too much on trying to understand everything said and all the different noises or music and sometimes I want to be watching something and listening to music and reading and playing games all at once and I need to be doing all of them or I’m understimulated but I can’t be doing all of them because that’s way too overstimulating and I can’t stand it and sometimes I need to be in a call with my friends to be able to do things but I can’t be in a call with my friends I get too distracted trying to process everything they’re saying and doing

at the start of Finale (Tulsa '67) "When i stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, i only had two things on my mind. Paul Newman, and a ride home." thats not Brody Grant (Ponyboy)! thats Brent Comer (Darry)! hes reading ponyboys essay! which is a reference to the fact darry always reads and checks ponyboys homework!

Bob, Dally, and Johnny all fight in the rumble! another metaphor for Ponyboys battle and race against death. "Ponyboy!" is shouted when ponyboy realizes he was about to punch Johnny.

Making anti endo alternatives to endo coined or pro endo coined terms.

I'll start with the most common pro endo terms.

Fictoject- an anti endo alternative to fictive, if this word hasn't been coined yet. I've seen fictroject, but we have issues with letters getting mixed up easily when reading, that happened when we read that word, so to make it dyslexic friendly (and for other people with similar issues) I deleted the r.

Factoject- an anti endo alternative to factive.

Partialject- an anti endo alternative to fogtive and fuzztive- terms for alters who are partially introjects.

In general I think "Who is allowed to reclaim what slurs" is among the most pointless, niche, irrelevant debates to take up oxygen in progressive spaces, especially when the "slur" is actually a community-preferred alternative to pathologizing language (I don't want to enforce "Only fat people can say 'fat'" or "Only mad people can say 'mad'"; I want thin neurotypicals to stop calling us "obese" and "suffering from mental disorders").

I used to care about this. I used to be strongly of the opinion that it's only okay to use "as reclamation" a slur if you, yourself, are actually the category of person being described, not just someone "mistaken for" or "called" that.

The main reason I felt that way was because of my deep revulsion of non-intellectually-disabled neurodivergent people using the R word, and shielding themselves with "But I'm dyslexic/autistic/whatever, and bullies called me that, so I'm allowed to use it!"

And I used to actually care about arguing "No, just because bullies called you that doesn't mean you actively live under the structural oppression of people labelled intellectually disabled," which is true, just as it's also true that a not-queer-at-all cishet guy who got bullied and called queerphobic slurs in high school because he wore a pink t-shirt one day isn't actually gay and doesn't actually experience any structural queerphobia once he leaves high school.

But that's not really the problem.

The problem is that the debate is being framed around "Who counts as what?" or "Who is allowed to say what?" rather than "What are they saying?"

The problem isn't whether any given person "can" "reclaim" a slur, it's that people use their identities and positionality as a shield to argue for the oppression of other people.

That non-intellectually-disabled neurodivergent person, are they saying "I was bullied for being different, so I support and empathize with anyone who is oppressed for how their mind works"? Or are they saying "I'm The Relevant Positionality too, so I'm ALLOWED to say that Those Other Ones shouldn't have rights"?

Particularly in queer spaces, there is such an emphasis on positionality and a hierarchy of oppression and a stigma on comparing experiences or equating experiences, and it's all centered around who can use what terms, or "slurs," even though the problem is that all terminology used to describe queer people is a slur, because we live in a queerphobic society that uses queerness as an insult (begging people to learn about the euphemism treadmill).

The more important question than "Is this person the right kind of queer to be allowed to say this?" is "Are they speaking in favor of queer rights or against queer rights?"

Because some of y'all, I swear, if a bi lesbian said "As a lesbian, I think lesbians should be hunted for sport" would spend the next 6 months debating whether a bi lesbian counts, and if a straight man said "I'm a straight man, but I think hunting lesbians for sport is wrong," y'all would admonish him for speaking over lesbians.
