Hello, this isnt really related to sex but to queerness so I figured it would still be under your expertise. Im 27 and intersex but AFAB and my journey to figuring out my gender has been all over the map my hole life. Already I had more T then other "little girls" so Ive always been androgenous but when I hit my teen years I started getting bullied for my more masculine traits like my voice, body hair and so on. My idea of gender was always just so very nonexistent and mattered so very little to me that I was always just kinda doing what other people did or wanted of me. Long story short I had a hyper fem phase to fit in and then I found out what being trans was and then had a hyper masc phase and decided to take T. I ended up stopping T at 20 (witch was honestly HARDER THEN GETTING ON IT FOR ME god the never-ending questions of "are you de-transitioning???" and my doctor outright refusing to let me make the choice for a while cause I didnt have "good enough reasons" to stop like ??? Girl what???) but I was really happy with what being on T did for me! Now tho I realize im non-binary and im fully embracing it! The issue im having now is navigating the world. I have a beard that I like, I have long curly hair, I love skirts and dresses (something I also wasnt allowed to wear as a transguy without again getting asked if I was "turning back into a girl"), I have boobs (kinda unfortunately, still working on that one but top surgery is hard to get when you have a bigger body :( ) but the looks I get from people in public are very hard to ignore. I have autism so its a bit hard for me to even notice or know why people are giving me dirty looks all the time but recently a friend of my said it might be my appearance and that I have a beard and boobs and am in a dress. I want to just ignore people and live my best life but I do wonder if I should just "pick one" ya know? My hole identity down to my anatomy fucks the binary but being a target is scary. Do you or your fallowers maybe have any advice?

He would still keep you company by getting his own snacks to eat with, though.

🐺 Really, Koga doesn't have a particular grudge or some shitty memories going on against it, he won't go through the sweet aftertaste of eating them or feeling the soft texture melting on his tongue it's yucky. Those type of desserts aren't just for him. Just consider it, do you even think those things suit him? He literally keeps up a wild and rough image as his whole part of identity!

🐺 ...okay, since he's the tougher man and if you have begged enough or use the most effective puppy eyes at him, he would brave through them, the texture and taste be goddamned. yes that was probably me!! i was a ballet dancer for 16 years and i was very serious about it, i thought it was going to be my career for a while. when i started my tumblr blog i was still in pre-professional training so i used to post a lot about ballet, especially dancing en pointe and my gender and body and all those things. i stopped dancing ballet when i went to college and switched to competitive ballroom and latin dance, and then finally had to stop dancing altogether this spring when i became a wheelchair user. i might try adaptive ballroom dance again at some point. so i haven't posted about ballet in years but it is still a part of my life.

also i'm so glad to hear my posts helped with your intersex identity, that means a lot to me and it's always really cool to me how many intersex people find each other on tumblr and how we're a part of each others journeys this way. also an intersex flag project sounds SO incredibly cool, omg!

No need to worry—I'm absolutely fine, I've just been ludicrously busy (my job changed somewhat at the end of last year and I acquired New Responsibilities; figuring out how to handle those and still have as much time as I need to write and to reply to comments has taken me six months :'D but I think I've mostly gotten the hang of it, hence me finally starting to catch up on my inboxes both here and on the AO3).

AND, ngl, I am absolutely delighted to hear that you were looking at the Projects page! :D That was honestly three-quarters me experimenting with the new theme I set up, haha (and the reason I threw a "last updated" date on there was 100% because if I got busy, I knew I was definitely going to start forgetting to update that sucker). I've updated it today, and the good news/bad news breakdown on the arranged marriage AU is: good news, I am still working on it; bad news, it is super not done. :'D I've got some other shorter stuff that should be done sooner than that (including some Bruce/Clark!), but I'm hoping to make that this year's Big Long Bruce/Clark Fic. Obviously I also have not made a whole lot of progress on some other things on that list :D but here's hoping I can fix that this summer!

As for writing advice, I've written a few posts in the past about my process, how I approach managing character identity, and my tl;dr thoughts on characterization, pacing, dialogue, and prose rhythm, if you haven't seen one or another of those! Honestly, working on my writing has been a real process of self-discovery for me :'D so I'd say my bottom-line "if you do nothing else, do this" of writing advice is: try things! Try different techniques, try outlining and not outlining, try doing writing exercises and not doing writing exercises, try sitting down to write a few hundred words each day and try only writing when you feel inspired to do it ... Everybody is different, everybody's brains and subconscious creative sources are different, and stuff that works for other people might work for you or it might not, but you won't know if you don't try it all multiple ways and see which approach feels the best to you.

Personally, I used to not outline at all, and I wrote the scenes that came to me in my head first and then went back to fill in the gaps—and that worked okay, it was fine, but as it turns out I'm MUCH better off when I outline every! single! time! and also my odds of completing a story I'm working on increase about 5,000% if I write it straight through from start to finish. I thought I knew what worked the best for me! I was wrong! :'D But I wouldn't have found out I was wrong if I hadn't decided to try outlining, and then decided to ditch how other people outline and outline in the way that worked for me, and then tried writing straight through, tried writing every single day and sucked at it BUT trying to write every day is actually good for me, it's just I have to let myself not do it if it's not working, &c &c. So, yeah, try stuff, don't get too stuck on doing anything one specific way, and sooner or later you'll figure out how you work, what gets your brain doing its best writing, and you'll be able to get it to do its best writing more and more often. :D

Omg I love this random question!! It is honestly sooooo fucking weird to them ngl hahahahsh like so out of left field esp because most of them have witnessed all of the nasty stuff he was doing to Pete when he caught him/ or at least they’re all very aware of what’s been unspoken or implied. It hasn’t taken them completely by surprise tho because Vegas was using them to help cover for him when he was sneaking out so many times to try and run in to Pete in the main family house.

He might not have given them specific details about who he was meeting but like wasn’t very hard for them to put two and two together esp when Pete started showing up around Vegas so much as well and at the compound too

Tbh I think they’re all a little uncomfortable with it but mostly because they don’t really understand what the hell the two of them are doing with each other (and to each other ;) lol) but in regards to Vegas I think they’re especially freaked out.

Like they’re already afraid of him because he’s unhinged and impetuous let’s be real but before Pete he was pretty aimless and bitter and only focused on winning his dads approval and taking over the main family business. There wasn’t much else to him tbh he’s built his whole identity around being his fathers son and heir.

Now that he’s got something he cares about even more fiercely (and most importantly seems receptive to caring about him right back) Vegas’ guards are now starting to see some of the soft flesh of his underbelly and I think they’re realising how much more dangerous it’s made him. (Think of Vegas taking on the Italians by himself to protect Pete and then slinking back home for his bodyguards and father half dead and covered in blood for them to discover what he’s done)

So although I think they might be a bit more relaxed than main family bodyguards, they’re still very much in the seen not heard vibe so they wouldn’t ever say anything to Vegas directly about his relationship. They definitely respect Pete and are impressed that he’s managed to survive this long with Vegas esp because he doesn’t have lasting relationships usually. Even if they don’t comment to Vegas on it that doesn’t mean they haven’t been gossiping about it in great detail whenever they’re all alone together tho. because from their pov all of this shit has been wild and they’re kind of fascinated watching it all unfold hahahahahsh

There's more to understanding something beyond just having a degree. And to no one's surprise, POC Greeks also exist, mixed Greek exist, people who were raised with the Greek culture.

And might I remind people, this started because an Anon asked Greek people from Greek about incest and bestiality in Greek myths. This btw, never excluded any of the previously mentioned groups, it only specified that it was for Greek people from Greece.

Why are you all making it about like blood and soil and ethnonationalism? Are you so afraid that some people have feelings about the culture they themselves simply grew up in you just need to bring in random hypotheticals to claim everyone else is a bad person?

You know someone can study the history of a place, and still never understand how the people from there feel about their own history. It just means you learnt about the stories and myths in more depth than maybe the average person does in an academic space.

Someone completely unrelated who studied this can just be quiet about it, if they weren't Greek it's just an interest they had. They have no deeper ties to it beyond that. Meanwhile a Greek person can't just turn off their actual culture, and their own association with it, unless they want to cut of a part of their identity.

People of certain races and ethnicities and countries and cultures can't just turn off their ties to the cultures they grew up in or with, it's something that shapes you. If you study something as an outsider you probably will never understand that specific feeling. You could study Japanese culture, and you still wouldn't have the same connections to it as someone who lives and is raised in said culture. You're looking at it through an academic lens. Doesn't school teach you that? You're learning the information, not the feelings and emotions. Not being American doesn't make you any less ignorant. You can also be ignorant. Being American also doesn't make someone ignorant. I'm going case by case, you act ignorant, you're ignorant. Fuck whatever place you came from, this wasn't about you, or your hypothetical post-graduates.

And to add on: Stop shitting on Americans as a group. Some Americans act ignorant, call those out. Everytime I’m asked about my pronouns I try to avoid responding and if I can’t change the subject I lie and say she/her. I am not ready for people to interrogate me about why I don’t use she/her so I just say that’s what I use to make them happy.

This week I start my placement. I’ve been really stressed about them calling me Miss or Ms as that’s how I’ll be perceived. I’ve told my mum about this (not exactly, I kind of just said I don’t want to be ms/miss ‘last name’ bc it makes me feel old 😭) but still kind of the same thing. Anyway she said something along the lines of “this is your time and you should be referred to how you want to be (thinking I prefer ms (then my first name instead of last name)). I am so glad you asked this because it's such an important topic.

It is ABSOLUTELY okay to lie about your pronouns.

Here's the thing. Saying your pronouns is basically coming out, right? And you should NEVER come out before you're ready. EVER. You would do so much more damage to yourself if you outed yourself when you weren't ready.

And I'm going to be honest, I lie about my pronouns all the time- either by omission or flat out. Why? Because I literally don't feel safe in some situations. Is it ideal? No. Does it feel great? Absolutely not. But in new situations with people you don't know, It's okay to put your safety and your needs first. you're not hurting anyone by doing so.

As far as school, I am currently called Mrs.(lastname) and I hate it. I started working at my school before I came out to anyone, so at the time, going by that made the most sense. Now? Not so much. But funnily enough, I have a few students with speech issues that just call me (lastname) and it's super affirming. So, at my next school, I'll probably go with that. As far as why I haven't changed it? Honestly, I'm scared. I DO wear a pin with my pronouns, and I have them in my signature of my e-mail, but only one person in the entire school uses them (and calls me (lastname)), so it doesn't feel like a safe place to really push it, you know? And like you, sometimes I feel bad about that, but it's like...is it more detrimental to my mental health to be she/her-d all day or to possibly be made fun of for my identity all day? Right now, it's the first one. It might change later.

Only YOU can decide what feels right and safe for you, and I support you 1000% on whatever you choose. Anyone who doesn't isn't looking out for you.

Also if you ever want to chat about this more, I'd absolutely love to- there are so few educators (or upcoming educators) that struggle with this that it would be so cool to talk!

🌙 Soo I decided that in my verse betas can experience a soft heat or a soft rut depending on their bonds (who it’s with I mean) and environment. By soft I mean it’s not as intense as an alpha/omega and they don’t always have the anatomy to work with their instincts but that’s for a different post !

🌙 What I mean here is ! If a beta is used to heats and goes into a rut or vice versa it could create a bit of an identity crisis that leads to some mild repression

🌙 A sudden rut could cause a beta to suddenly really lean into more omega coded activities or feel a repulsion around alphas

🌙 Betas panic nesting ♥️

🌙 Meanwhile a sudden heat night make a beta start being overly aggressive and competitive to “make up for” the omega coded heat

🌙 Outside of rut/heats maybe the beta jsut isn’t happy being a beta

🌙 If ur verse has it so ur characters don’t know what they are until presentation…

🌙 A beta who so badly wanted to be something else only to be awfully disappointed when their body doesn’t react to presenting the way they hoped

🌙 In my verse betas are swifter, silent stalkers, the chefs, the gardeners! Why? Bc they’re the providers of food! They hunt and gather as the omega rears and takes care of the home and the alpha marks territory and protects that home (traditionally/evolutionary speaking that is)

🌙 So a beta who’s not proud of being a beta might lock themselves inside a lot. They hate the outdoors 🙄 they don’t feel the urge to water flowers at all 🙄

🌙 They probably refuse to cook for themselves as well claiming they’re bad or awful

🌙 Or maybe they actually just don’t believe they’re not literal Gordon Ramsay level in the kitchen and beat themselves up about it massively

i watched heartstopper s2 because i was an avid osemanverse enjoyer in my early teen years (back when alice oseman still had anons on rip) and owe some of my aspec self-discovery to their writing. i knew they had written an aroace storyline into this series and wanted to see it because whilst i knew as an aroallo lesbian i wouldn’t totally resonate and might be a bit cheesed off by aspects of it, i enjoy aromantic crumbs, and i enjoy discussing aspec Stuff even more. it was……. an interesting experience? has certainly given me a lot to think about. gushy rant below the cut :)

i will say, i think that the amatonormativity is still strong, and rigid in this show. it’s like, isaac is the exception to the rule and his true love is books, and he gets to yell at his friends for all being so damn couple-y and romance-obsessed but there’s no resolution to that. is that realistic? yeah, sure, allo friends can fucking suck, but heartstopper is the kind of show aiming to do certain things for queer kids where id expect a dialogue about this. you know, charlie & co coming to understand aspec identities and becoming more conscious of how amatonormativity affects them, interrogating it in such a way that these queer couples can also be liberated from its trappings. juicy shit like that. didnt happen tho. isaac gets a book about asexuality (no mention of aromanticism on its cover!!! the word is used by the artist who vaguely explains both terms to isaac, but there is a much greater focus on asexuality, so much so that this morning i saw pink fucking news celebrating isaac’s asexual storyline without a mention of his aromanticism) and that’s it.

a lot of that criticism is arguably coloured by my experience as an aroallo person, because i just want aromanticism to be engaged with as aromanticism. you know aroaces we are besties in arms solidarity and all that, and im so fucking happy you got some great asexual rep that frequently used the word asexual, as well as your flag and iconography. like fuck yeah!!!!!! let’s go!!!!!! however, aromanticism is not a subset of asexuality, is not an ‘extreme form’ of asexuality, does not necessarily have anything to do with asexuality. im sure the aspec folks know this, but allo fuckers dont and that means that this canonically aromantic character who was emotionally affecting to me is one that im gonna be barred from resonating with again and again.

you know, moments of isaac’s story were so profound and moving for me. i cried at the kiss scene in episode 5, it was probably the single most relatable moment of tv (related to my experiences with sexuality) that ive ever seen. its certainly not my favourite tv moment of all time lol, relatability ≠ quality, but when youre part of a marginalised group and experience a lot of loneliness and alienation surrounding your identity it is great to see it reflected. i honestly loved that shit!!!!! ive been there!!!! that’s me!!!!!! the wanting and the not wanting!!! the jealousy and confusion and alienation, the longing to be able to feel what you can’t just so you don’t have to be so lonely, the knowledge that you’re just not that person…… oh it was great. it was fucking great. so you can maybe appreciate how upsetting it is for other people to neglect the aromantic facets of this canonically aromantic character, when we dont get shit.

having said that, asexuals also dont get shit; my issue is absolutely not with isaac being aroace, but rather with how mainstream understanding of aspec identities is still so piss poor that people neglect the aromantic aspect of that identity. i found isaac to be a relatable character and i enjoyed and appreciated that about him; i wish more people would talk about him being both asexual and aromantic, because aromanticism does not get talked about enough as anything other than an ‘extension’ of asexuality, an idea which only diminishes the complexity and vastness of both (fucking awesome and beautiful) identities. love and light and solidarity forever with all other aspec folk <3

Angel - not a fictive! they're my weird fucked up angelic feral wolf who's golden retriever kin, by far the funniest person in my system if you think about her too hard, also he uses any pronoun, doesn't front too often, but it's just objectively funny to have this cool angelic wolf in your brain and they wish they were a normal ass dog

Hi, it’s me again, I had a couple of ideas, a couple are about possible bard reader, another is a musing for any reader, and the last is a general question.

1. Bards aren’t solely musicians, (from my dnd experience,) they also recite poems, ballads, and stories. So what if Reader tries to keep some of the more prone to boredom pilgrims by talking about various other myths and stories she might know? For example, she might’ve had an ancient Egypt or Greek mythology phase and still remembers a lot of those stories and when things are getting dull, she just goes like “Hey, wanna hear a funny story?” And then talk about Midas getting cursed with donkey ears. It manages to occupy the silence with something more interesting.

2. I’ve seen the Ruan being suggested as Reader’s instrument, but I wonder if anyone has considered the Xun. A xun is basically a small ceramic or wood instrument in the same family as the ocarina, but played slightly differently. They’re quite portable, and they could also make for a convenient “which one of these identical monkeys is Six Eared Macaque,” test. Nothing against the Ruan, just wanted to share. (Bonus: if the Reader likes the Zelda games, she could play some of those songs and most of them are either soothing or fun to dance to.)

2.5. Personally, I am an edgy girl, so if I chose to sing, it’d be like the early 2000s nu-metal songs from groups like Evanescence, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, and all of that other stuff, so that’d be embarrassing.

3. How are she and Tripitaka going to stay warm in the winter? There were points in the book where it was stated to be snowing or at least very cold, and idk if Guanyin would give them coats or if they’d have to get one of the other pilgrims to beg for a couple of used old coats. If Guanyin did give them some, it’d be neat to see like a feather cloak or something along those lines as feathers (down) are very good at insulating and keeping one warm.

4. Given all of the times when Tripitaka either punishes Monkey too severely and/or kicks him out, I can imagine the Six Eared Macaque arc being the one where reader genuinely loses her patience and slaps the monk across the face. She doesn’t really even say anything, just turns to leave and if they say anything about how they need her to guide them, “well, you can figure it out for yourself, because I’m done putting up with your ‘holier than thou’ bullshit.” Then goes to find Wukong. Depends on if you want the one she finds to be the real one, trying not to cry, or if she runs into his doppelgänger. (Suppose we’ll have to wait and see.)

ok soooo i'm gonna admit that at first I had no idea what you were talking about but then I remembered that one of my followers did fanart with their version of Reader using a Ruan and I just wanna say that isn't canon it was just someone's art. anything that i post about ittw on here should be considered specifically not canon just for fun. i also won't answer any questions about what will happen in the future of any of my fics or au's (i know i'm a meanie😋). you can find all my ask rules on my pinned post 😊 (tho i might update them soon)

also everything about ittw was set in stone before i even began writing. nothing will change the plot even if i find an idea that i like (there was one idea from someone's fanart that i liked and i was thinking about using since it wouldn't effect the plot [after getting their permission] but i won't be doing that now because i don't want anyone to think i'm playing favorites or have a bunch of people try to get me to add their ideas as well. i've already had a bunch of people try to do that and it really stresses me out cause it's hard to stay nice in those situations) because of that (and i mean this in the nicest way possible i promise i'm not trying to sound like a jerk) i won't be taking any suggestions for plots unless i specifically ask for them🤗
