If parenting has taught me anything, it is the importance of getting down on your hands and knees and teaching not just facts, but love and enthusiasm for the natural world.

This is my son Q and me. I have dozens of photos like this by now, even though he is just two years old.

Every chance I get, I will kneel down with him and show him the little creatures all around us. Especially when they are frogs. He loves frogs for some reason. No idea why.

It is important that we all see this together. It is beautiful. It is magnificent. We are here. It is improbable to the highest degree. It is fleeting, but it is everything we get. And we can get so, so much of it. If we just get our faces into it and really absorb it.

Pondering Ghosts are Dragons, and just rotating each design in my head I have for them. That is the ghosts we see in the show more than just once or twice lol. Just pondering each of them and potential types and descriptions and how the people of Amity see them, as they’re used to the dragons around, vs say someone from Outside, crossover or no, who are Not used to the maybe slightly eldritch undeath interdimensional dragons around everywhere. 

That is not normal for other people. 

To the Amity Parkers? Boxy is simply a chonky dragon with small boxy wings and covered in blue scales. To people just coming into the city, it’s like seeing a giant komodo dragon when you’re just walking home- not something you exactly want to see and something that is dangerous. 

Kitty’s and Johnny’s weekly relationship tussle? Par for the course really. But to visitors? Two giant wyverns tearing into each other, shimmering greens that could be scales, could be tendrils, and shadows lengthening and thrashing like a living beast all its own. 

And this is just the small dragonlings, not even beginning with larger ones like Pandora and Fright Knight, chill as they may be. 

Outsiders don’t understand that they’re more than just animals. Amity is used to this, but people who have no clue what’s going on? They don’t.

They call the police, the heroes, the government, for help, for answers. And that? That the GIW can use.

house noticed about an hour after he’d gotten to the hospital. and it was driving him insane. it was a new tie, it had to be. he’d never seen wilson wear that tie before. soft blue color and a silky material that seemed to glint in the florescent light of the hospital. the glimmering color made wilson’s hazel eyes glow brighter, and house hated that it made him feel a little weak in the knees every time he caught a glimpse of wilson across the clinic. it was about three hours working at the hospital before house put two and two together and realized it was a deliberate move on wilson’s part. the cocky little smirk on wilson’s face when he caught house not-so-subtly checking him out from across the clinic floor. the little wink wilson flashed him before house was dragged away by the underlings to see some test results for a patient sent a shudder of pleasure down house’s spine. wilson was teasing him because he knew the tie would make house want to drag him in by the tie and kiss him breathless. and god, that’s all house wanted. he’d tried to corner wilson in one of the clinic exam rooms with the plan of kissing him against one of the exam tables but cuddy had pulled wilson away for a consult before house got a chance. house had planned to snag wilson in the oncologists’ office and drag him over his desk by that damn tie and kiss that smirk right off of wilson’s face. but every time house threw wilson’s office door open in his quest to devour wilson, he was never there. by the end of the day, house felt like he was trembling with pent-up desire. he played it off as pain in his leg when the underlings asked, and fled the hospital as soon as he could for the night when he saw that wilson’s coat and bag were gone from his office. hopping onto his bike, he drove home as fast as he could, knowing wilson would be there to taunt house some more. and there wilson was, sitting on the doorstep of his apartment complex when house pulled up. wilson’s lips quirked up into a cocky little grin, and house stalked over to him. “you manipulative little bitch,” house grunted, pushing wilson up against the building wall, wrapping his hand around the silk blue tie, and tugging wilson into a fervent kiss. wilson gasped against house’s mouth, eagerly chasing house’s tongue as house kissed him deep and frantic and messy. house kept the tie wrapped up in his fist and he pulled wilson impossibly closer, stifling a groan as wilson’s hands slipped under the hem of his leather jacket and tshirt to splay across his lower back. “we should…” wilson panted out between kisses. it was several more minutes of kissing before wilson finally tore his mouth away from house’s and quickly darted his gaze up to house’s window. “yeah, yeah…” house replied breathily, using his hold on wilson’s tie to tug the younger man up the stairs, into his apartment, and he pushed wilson back up against the closed door to kiss him again. “like… the… tie… huh?” wilson gasped out between kisses. “shut up,” house said, words turning into a low moan as wilson kissed him back with just as much enthusiasm as house was kissing wilson with.

I want you to know you’ve indoctrinated both my friend and I into your path of thinking when it comes to Illario and the Envy demon.

I raise you this, since Illario isn’t even a mage before the Ossuary, consider the fact that Zara convinces Illario into also harboring Envy (like Spite, since Lucanis says he just ate something and he was stuck with Spite after that. Like she tells Illario he needs that dawg in him to become first talon, a double edged knife there (you aren’t good enough on your own you need that dawg in you aahhhh)). That would add a level onto why he kills her, Lucanis taking a crack at Illario and asking if he’s is good enough (I would’ve crashed out too tbh), and the lines in at the party with a romanced Rook (since that man also doesn’t have a healthy love life)

Envy is also twisted form of admiration/generosity/contentment, like how Spite was a spirit of determination, and the freak out Lucanis would have over his little brother’s admiration for him (an admiration he would NEVER admit to his big brothers face) becoming so twisted (by the same person!) that it’s also destroying him from the inside out.

Also Spite and Envy shenanigans would’ve been so fucking funny

YEAH!!!!!! i have been rotating this around in my mind and had the idea of that admiration v. envy thing for illario, especially if we're thinking about wigmaker's job where they cover for each others weaknesses. like a week ago i googled what the corresponding virtue for envy was and it was kindness and i was like yeahhhhh illario does not have that. we're going to have to go with something else. and i was thinking of admiration so this ask kind of made me cheer <3 thank god i am making some sense and someone else agrees because at any point i'm checking myself going 'actually would he do that'

i think they both have some level of 'i wish i could do that like them' but illario's is negatively tinged because their fuck ass grandma is right there saying all that too . like regardless of how great i think my brother is, there is no fucking way his accomplishments don't start looking twisted and unfair if my only parental figure obviously likes him more than me

i also like the idea of in some world where illario is less of a traitor and didn't set lucanis up (i have a rewrite powerpoint going on for my friends. so this part makes perfect sense to me but maybe not as much to you. i'm so sorry), and they both get kidnapped and possessed, spite-envy are the ones with serious beef vs. their unwitting hosts, who would actually prefer not to kill each other.

this messy au i have assumes a very fraught house dellamorte, trying to defend treviso while the crows splinter and follow either son. caterina refuses to let lucanis give up power and names him first talon, while illario has consolidated power in the year lucanis was gone and has several other loyal houses pledging to him instead. spite and envy exacerbate this situation, spite refusing to give up power + envy coveting it. this hypothetical plotline ends with uniting the crows under a single first talon (welcome back bhelen v harrowmont), and reaching an agreement with the others to work together. crow-on-crow violence you cannot be solved but you CAN reach a momentary tense agreement to protect antiva and the world <3
