this is a system help/requests blog that welcomes systems and plurals of all origins. the blog owner is a DID system for transparency's sake.

i joined a really popular syscord and 3 days in i got accused of being racist by the owner so i left.

the context: the chat was all talking about our hair and hairdye, and someone popped in asking a question about their locs and stating that they were black. that spawns a b-convo where everyone is sharing their racial/ethnic backgrounds, and i mention my own (not white but white passing). its a really casual conversation and half of chat is still talking about hair.

well the person who asked about their locs goes, out of nowhere, "no offense to white-passers but some of us arent. so like." like ok? and like 3 people reply to this (including me) being like "huh?" and they refuse to explain, instead getting more and more antagonistic and accusing others in the chat of being colourist. the rest of chat is confused and several people are asking why they wont just explain what their message was about, and eventually the mods time out everyone in the conversation EXCEPT the person who started the damn issue, they get made a helper.

i and another person got warnings for "being actively antagonistic"

well whatever, i was willing to just let it go because maybe the mods got things mixed up, i liked the server so i wasnt gonna leave over it. until a whole whopping 20 minutes later when im in a different channel lurking while 2 systems discuss the concept of front triggers. one system straight-up tells the other "no, thats not how DID works, xyz thing cant trigger you to front." so i jump in and say "who are you to decide someone else's triggers?" and this guy blows tf up at me, telling me to "cry about it" and "open a ticket if youre mad."

then the owner shows and times me out for 24hrs. im beyond pissed at this point because i feel like im being attacked in every conversation i participate in, but i was NOT expecting what came next. both the owner and the antagonist from the previous conversation OUTRIGHT TOLD THE CHAT I WAS "BEING COLOURIST" EARLIER WHILE I WAS TIMED OUT AND COULDNT DEFEND MYSELF.

if i hadnt been timed out i couldve sent the screenshots of the entire conversation that had only gone down maybe 20 minutes prior, and in fact i DID send those screenshots to some friends in dms who saw the owner call me colourist. i never said a bad word to that person, i just kept asking what they were mad about and they kept refusing to explain, saying shit like "LET ME SPEAK" as if anyone could possibly stop them from typing and sending their message.

but yeah, i left that server. fuck that shit.

(sidenote: why did you use the world colourist instead of racist? I haven't seen it used before, so I'm wondering if it's new terminology or? /genq)

In my experience, hope is just despair after a shower, death just rot becoming regrowth. calling my metaphor a metaphor derogatorily does nothing but make you look like a dumb asshole. calling your own metaphor not a metaphor has the exact same effect.

We've been thinking about it for a while, and we've finally decided to commit to rebranding our system! Being a polyfragmented system where fictives from all kinds of places and alternate universes are the absolute majority, and since our system is generally regarded by our headmates as a safe and comfortable community to be a part of, it only seems fitting that our name reflects that, as well as my - as the host's - appreciation for all of them. So, without further hesitation, let us now be known as the Fictive Haven system!

just wanted to say you posting about system stuff has made us (recently discovered system) a lot more comfortable addressing the fact that we're plural. p sure we're traumagenic but we still get a lot of anxiety like "what if im actually faking and when i start posting system stuff online people will know im a faker and get mad at me". plurality has only ever been demonized/put in a negative light in my life (our lives?) so its nice to see people being chill about it

I (the host) definitely get a lot of anxiety posting about our plurality because I get the same worries of “what if I’m faking? what if I’m actually a singlet? what if I’m just making this all up?”, but when I think of myself without my headmates, I get really sad (and I definitely feel my headmates sadness at the thought of not existing/disappearing)
