Hey fun fact it turns out when you have really bad anxiety about choosing The Wrong Choice^tm that being told that although some choices are good others are "better and best" like fucks up your brain in a way you don't realize until you take a step back

Like apparently mapping out how your life has changed based on single actions and the way it will continue to change based on single actions isn't a healthy decision making process

Maybe just let people have hobbies??? Because maybe planting tomatoes or sewing a plushi or reading a book or drawing or playing a game or taking a nap can be the Best Thing^tm

And maybe God didn't actually give you your life if he expects you to spend your whole life giving all of your time back to him

Also like I have crippling decision making skills even about small things so having heard that even doing things The Right Way could be in fact Wrong means that what I end up doing is staring at the wall feeling guilty

But ya know I guess that's how God wanted me to spend my time

💖 Day 3.5 is now available! 💖

For the last couple of months, only Server Boosters had access to the 3.5 update... Buuuuut now it's available for everyone to play in the 14DWY Discord — and soon itch.io once I'm happy with the QA and state of the game — so please don't feel pressured to join unless you want to!!

What's been added to the 3.5 version?

📺 Streamer Mode!

I've been told that it's difficult to stream and monetise age-restricted videos on YouTube and Twitch, so I added an option to remove the sexual content and strong language used in the demo.

Now y'all can invite Ren into your bed for cuddles without putting your streamer career on the line /silly /lh

This won't affect the 18+ rating or dark themes/elements of the game, however! Although Streamer Mode will prevent you from seeing any "gruesome" CGs in the future, most of the core elements of the game will still be tied to the choices and decisions you make. So you won't miss out on the overall experience by using streamer mode!!

⚙️ Custom Pronouns!

It only took me one entire year to get around to it, but you can finally choose your own preferred pronouns (or use a set of pronouns instead)... At the cost of being able to change them mid-game ^^;

Since the original pronoun screen wouldn't update until a new scene was displayed, I temporarily disabled the feature. But once I find a workaround, I'll bring it back!

💗 Choose how others perceive you!

You can now choose how the cast and narration perceive you! Originally, the narration was kept strictly gender-neutral (outside of pronouns and genitalia picked by the player), but this will soon change in future updates.

For more clarity: you don't get to choose the words specifically, but you can choose between masculine, feminine, and androgynous terms!

📋 Separate top and bottom genitalia!

You can now choose your tatas and pps separately! >:3

Alongside that, you can also choose your preferred body type!

I removed the "both" genitalia option because a few players still assumed it was an obscure version of "intersex". That wasn't my intention and I don't want to mislead anyone, so I took it out for now ^^;

I also didn't want to include a screenshot of the new genitalia choices in action (because it's NSFW), so y'all get the same character menu screen for the nth time instead lmao

📱 Relationship Screen Overhaul!

You can now change your own status for more immersion, and long-term Server Boosters will eventually be able to submit and use their own icon within the game as well!

Stalking finding your friends has now become easier by using "Buddy Maps"; a new app that allows you to see the location of all the cast members!

I want to offer players more incentive to check the relationship screen since they tend to miss the status updates, so hopefully this might help ;v;

It also says it "updates every few hours" so folks don't go overboard and check every 5 seconds to see where Ren is gdsghf (also keep in mind that he's a hacker lol)

🖤 Additional Scenes Update!

Day 2 received a brand new CG!!!!! Originally, I planned on only adding a few CGs sporadically throughout the game, but it didn't feel right to leave Day 2 so... empty... so I added a brand new CG to (hopefully) make things feel more balanced and natural!

If you decline Teo's offer on Day 3, Leon will now call and try to convince you to reconsider. However, players are still allowed to decline, and if they do, they'll reach a dead end.

After listening to feedback on itch, I changed some of the dialogue during Days 1-3 to make it seem more consistent! They're only small changes though, so it's honestly not worth looking for sdgjssga

🎶 Updated BGM and SFX!

I wanted to try out a different style of music to see if it fits the vibe of 14DWY more! The BGM features more acoustics to suit the "beachy" theme of Corland Bay, though I made a conscious effort to include piano elements as well to stay true to the original!!

I figured it'd be better to give players a live example before I make a poll (to see if they prefer the change or not) and publish it to Itch.

Some new SFX have also been added, though it's very minimal and honestly not that noticeable.

How to download and play the update?

(warning: clicking on the following links will open Discord!!) To download the Day 3.5 update, simply join the 14DWY Discord server, verify your age, and visit the "14dwy-updates" channel!

Alternatively, you can also wait until the update is publicly released on Itch to play it as well!! (It normally gets released shortly after a round of QA testing/getting feedback from the server, though I may release it earlier if I feel like it hehe ^^)

Happy PRIDE Month, everyone!!! And because it is the month of Pride, I found it very fitting to post about the family that best represent it. 😉 Sorry I have nothing for Radioapple week, you guys. Between working on my #HHStargazersAU and other school projects, I might just go INSANE. Haha! I know there's a lot of info, but while a lot of these seem random, I assure y'all that there will be explanations for them in the future. I'm leading y'all up to something fun! Besides that, Bonus fact: Lucius is a diehard Chaggie shipper. Happy to have this pretty future daughter-in-law for his perfect baby girl. (He's just like me fr. 😩🤌🤌) Also, I realized that with the scale of my usual world building, ya'll will have to do a fair bit of reading in the future. So from now on, consider this AU as more of an "Artfic" than just comics. It's format ever changing to suit this and that part of my story. My very own passion project! the way this TORE ME UP INSIDE!

I’ve literally had an unexplainable bought of anxiety/depresison after this damn move and ya know what’s going through my head 24/7? THIS MOMENT.

Specifically the part where Joy realizes Anxiety is glitching out and goes ‘Anxiety?’ And then it just cuts to Anxiety crying. Then Joy going ‘You have to let her go’.

like FUCK MAN. It’s just. Anxiety so desperate to prove herself. Desperate to show she’s good enough. Caught in her own panic and worry. Tearing herself apart till the point she’s stuck in her own mind. Terrified to move. Terrified to let go. Terrified exactly as she is. Lordy when she starts crying I had such a visceral reaction in the theaters.

I DEFINITELY think Joy could have done better though. Like they give Riley’s sense of self a hug, but it’s confirmed by numerous people that it was ANXIETY having the Panic attack. Riley had it because of Anxiety. But yet I didn’t see a SINGLE emotion give Anxiety a hug. Or tell her it’s gonna be okay. Really wish I would have seen that. But I was over the moon with how they fully accepted and cared for her at the end.

The music hit so hard in this moment too. You don’t realize it at first. But Anxiety has this theme song play in the background any time she’s subtly amping up the anxious thoughts. And the silence + rapid beeping just. It makes this moment so much more intense

ive been playing a little early strangetown and starting thinking up college hcs for these gyals theyre still kids in my game.. whatever. im the planner

ok first, ages since theyre all fucked up in game: Instead of the twins being older than all of glarn's kids, they're only a year older than lazlo which Yeah would mean glarn got mpregnant and disappeared from the house for some months to hide it (idiot), dropped the twins at his lovelorn ex-wife's house, and returned home to his "normal" kids. They'd otherwise be in their mid-late 40s living with these recently graduated young women and like for what 😭 As of 2004 they are 26, erin is 24, and kristen is 23. she skipped a grade so she was a college freshman at the same time as eri ^_^

but anyway this drawing is set in 1998 HERE ARE THEIR MAJORS: Lola in poli-sci, Chloe in philosophy (she never fucking chose), Erin in psychology, and Kristen in public health but in-game it would be biology stop i wanted them all to begin with P beacuse. silly. kristen's mom, being an older and more traditional parent, wanted her to pursue a career in medicine but after her death kristen got the courage to choose the major she wanted, which was <whatever major gives you a boost in athletic LOL i havent checked>

gah i didn't mention but college is where the 4 of them met :3 I'm thinking of placing them in this university because i want it to be pretty far from strangetown hence the Actual Grass, plus kristen isnt actually from there so mission u may be closer to her hometown? maybe? Post-graduation they all get a house together because of their money situation even though chloe is a bitch to kris and erin 😭 (kris doesnt mind though eheh... my idea is that her and chloe had a fling in college but while chloe is a romance sim and does not gaf, kristen is still a bit hung on her) (i dont necessarily ship them tho im a diehard misten/lost waters/whateverthefuck fan OK. kris is a simp for pretty femmes & i cant exactly blame her...)

i <3 bottle episodes. bottle episodes are so important <333 they have never let me down. a real true bottle episode can fix so many negatives from a show, i don't even care what else is wrong. if they can set down their plots for the episode and gather around for what really matters: worsties getting stuck in an elevator and/or a pregnant character stuck with another character who was very unlikely to deliver their baby prior to the bottle episode....... that's what i'm talking about!!!!! live laugh bottle episode <3
